According to American experts citing certain Syrian humanitarian groups, the Islamic State in recent days has achieved several significant successes in the South Aleppo province and has infiltrated and established control over several districts of the strategically important town of al Safira. As a result of the offensive the ISIS was able to capture about 10 checkpoints on the strategically important highway from Hama via Salmiya, Inshriach and Hanser to Aleppo. This forced government forces to suspend its offensive on other fronts, especially in Aleppo, and to redeploy its forces to unblock the strategic highway to resume the logistical support for the Syrian army. Although ISIS successes are being exaggerated by the so-called “humanitarian analysts”, it is a fact that there is heavy fighting in the South Aleppo province.
In addition, about 1,500 Hezbollah fighters and about 2,000 Iranians from the IRGC are fighting right now near Aleppo. According to the information received, the government forces and the allies had unblocked the highway Hama-Aleppo and recapture al Safira.
However, the question arises as to why and how the Islamic State had got the ability to concentrate sizable fresh and well-armed forces in Aleppo province. The answer can be obtained from a brief analysis of the US actions in Syria and Iraq over the past 10 days.
It is already clear that the US commanders are sabotaging the advance of the Kurds in Raqqa.
The intensity of the pro-US coalition air force combat missions has been reduced substantially (by an order of magnitude).
Until now the U.S. regional command has not deployed its FAC ( forward air controller) teams and commandos into Kurds forward combat forces and with the Iraqi army. The number of the US military advisers is bitterly inadequate and, for all intents and purposes, their mission largely consists of containing Kurdish forces activity and playing political games.
Last week, information appeared about the growing number of cases of US-supplied weapons and ammunition being seized by the ISIS.
These factors combined with the complete lack of the Kurdish and Iraqi forces initiative in Anbar province allows the Islamic State to maneuver freely, transferring reinforcements from Iraq to Syria.
Today, Syria is the main strategically important front. ISIS’ existence directly depends on it. If smuggled oil exports through Syria to Turkey stop, ISIS will lose the foundation of combat potential, in both human and material terms.
According to independent military experts, the current United States course aims at containing Syrian government forces successes at any price. Pentagon believes that the failure of the Syrian army can trigger the transfer to Syria Russian land forces and the beginning of a protracted and costly ground operation.

Shouldn’t it be easy to find out who buys ISIS oil? There must be a long row of tankers going into some of the countries nearby. I mean obviously it must go to Turkey, but shouldn’t it be easy to take a few satellite photos and used it against Turkey?

-American is an internationaly culturamarxist oligarchy that is a threat to all mankind. In ME they support islamic fascism, in eastern Europe, ethnic Fascism and in western Europe, PC fascism. They want war and suffering everywhere. Russia is the greatest enemy of culturalmarxism, a large white christian conservative country? That would make every PC-fascist in the western world scream.. And it does.. And they know they have only a limited time to defeat Russia, as we speak other traditionalist parties are rising all over the west.. From Marine Le Pen in France, to UKIP with Farage in UK, to afd in Germany, SD in Sweden.. All these parties are either pro-or neutral to Russia and none of them are pro-USA/NATO/EU.. If Russia is not overcome and EU is not transferred into a fully totalitarian state within 5-10 years, game over for USA.
What’s the thing about culturalmarxism? Does it have anything to do with marxism? I have seen people discussing that term on several forums, I’m curious what this really is.. Isn’t it again some artificially made up construct for fake historians to create information background to make manipulations in definitions or even discussions easier to plan upfront?
It is the special brand of marxism that we have in the west today, when the workers did not rise up after ww1, a pack of marxist got togheter to try to figure out why workers did not follow them, they concluded that the reasons there was no mass uprising of support was that people were generally more loyal to their family, church and nation..So togheter in the Frankfurt school they set about to develop and ideology that would remove these hinders.
So for marxism to be successfull these things would have to be removed, hench the term “cultural” marxism, because its goal was to change the culture to be successfull. And, it was successfull, very much so. A more common name for the ideology would be “Political correctness” or “Multiculturalism(not to be confused with just having many culture inside a country). It includes gay pride, queery theory, radical feminism, whiteness studies, massimmigration.. Well, pretty much everything that will destroy the family, the church and the nation.
That is why you can see Russian or Chinese, or Vietnamese communist wanting to ban gay marriage, while Swedish and all western communists all agreeing that gay marriage is more natural then heterosexual marriage and the “heteronormativity” of society is a problem that must be broken down. “deconstructed”
That why you can see western leftist hysterically supporting mass immigration of cheap labour that will destroy the lives of the workers they are supposed to protect.
And so forth.
@Liz
There is an element of truth in your claim about certain strands of Marxism after the Bolshevik Revolution failed to spread from Russia. Lenin’s great wager was that Germany would be next to fall to revolution. Also Italy came close.
But this widespread use of Cultural-Marxism on conservative and nationalist forums is quite misleading and is indeed hurting their cause. If the Conservative Right of Europe wishes to see its agenda succeed and not just remain a fringe group, or a large fringe group, they also have to draw support from traditionally working-class leftist currents. Otherwise, there is no chance of ever toppling the PC-fascists embodied in the European Popular Party (center-right) and the European Socialist Party (center-left) Your fierce opposition to classical Marxism and all forms of socialism forecloses the opportunity to have a Fourth Political Theory succeed. (see: Joaquin Flores)
The far-left (another group in Europe that despairs in the current situation) is also equally (if not more) problematic. Their extreme sectarianism, and their hatred towards anything nationalist/patriotic and even European, does not allow them to gain any traction with patriotic workers etc. They are also up to their eye-balls committed to mass-immigration.
Back to my original point. The term “Cultural Marxism” is incorrect for the following reason, it is not in the service of building a Communist/Socialist International Utopia. It works for the interests of global capitalist interests in a huge number of ways. It also happens to serve the geo-political interests of the Zio-US-Empire.
My point is, that if Europe is to ever escape from the current malaise, then some open-minded people from both the far-right and far-left will have to find common ground and common language. Otherwise, its PC Fascism for eternity.
Yes, conservatives/nationalist in Europe is not even close to a fringe group, these are the biggest parties in many western countries, in my country Sweden(Most liberal of the liberal) the conservative party has ranked largest in many of the latest opinion polls, same is true for France, Netherlands, Denmark, Finland, Norway, Hungary and so on.
Well, I honestly think there is no possibility of toppling any PC regimes by democracy, even if a traditionalist party becomes the largest the other parties will just refuse to work with it and all the media and such will still be in the hands of the culturalmarxists. In the end only civil war will save us.
Yes, agreed, altought never expect culturalmarxists to become anything useful again, these people are permanently ruined and their brand of marxism has nothing to do with “old school” marxism or conservatism it is the working class that believes in old marxism that is useful and in many cases has turned to nationalism and conservatism.
Very interesting to read about. I had never heard of ´cultural marxism.´ In a western European country like the Netherlands, where I live, I am well aware of the phenomenon. Many social issues cannot be framed in left- right dichotomy.
Sometimes I do disagree strongly with overly conservative views, like forbidding halloween, or letting the church decide what unbelievers can and cannot do. I have an instinctive dislike of gay propaganda and radical feminism, but don´t see any harm in nonviolent porn however.
Russophilia is often framed as a right wing hobby in my country, but I am left wing. Sometimes opponents switch effortlessly from Russia to Soviet to keep framing it as bad.
It will take a lot more thinking, reading and debating to get a more comprehensive view about this interesting topic. Explanations in religious terms, like ´promoting the antichrist´ are not very helpful, as it sounds too ideological or emotional to me.

I think Stavros nails it — a successful party / movement needs the following SYNTHESIS:
1. PATRIOTISM +
2. SOCIO-ECONOMIC JUSTICE +
3. ENVIRONMENTALISM / CONSERVATIONISM +
4. DIRECT DEMOCRACY (as much as possible).
Any one of these “four legs” alone, or not in their totality, won’t work. More in the works of (among my favorite philosophers):
EPICUROS, G. ORWELL, C. LASCH, L. MUMFORD, J. C. MICHEA
[Today’s global capitalism has outsourced culture to the left, who happily oblige (so they can look at themselves in the mirror, after the collapse of the soviet union, so they feel that not all their life has been wasted …) There’s substantial OVERLAPPING between capitalists and leftists [e.g. relentless economic / material progress, disdain for limits (including national borders and personal borders (privacy) — trashing of SPACE); BOTH are children of the 18th cent. “enlightenment” — both are “Voltaire’s techno-bastards”!]
What do I mean specifically (please remember, this is not a research paper):
1. PATRIOTISM: Love of Country, Nation (yes, the NATION), Flag, the People’s Culture (can include the dominant religion — I don’t mean necessarily the dogma, but the ETHOS, way of life; e.g. in Greece, it’s the Orthodox ethos that’s important, not the dogma); preservation and enrichment of national Language. We don’t hate anyone else (no chauvinism!), BUT we love some more than others; we love our children more than those of the neighbor … or, loving Greece and America doesn’t mean we hate Poland or Singapore! Why can’t leftists and catholics (“missionaries”, “without borders” types) AND globalist capitalists understand that ??? We are CONCRETE creations of space, time, history; we are all “humans” only in a biological / zoological sense — that’s why we have the HUMANITIES !!!
In sum: Need, creative / modernizing / dynamic preservation of social / collective IDENTITIES, social cohesion, national language, particularities (socio-diversity). Political correctness is the enemy of freedom / independence / diversity.
2. SOCIO-ECONOMIC JUSTICE: Adequate social net: Minimum of shelter, food, health care etc for ALL citizens; creative work; no extremes of wealth and poverty. Creation of socially minded (non-monetary) rewards (as in many ancient Greek cities). The best economies are those that are MIXED, i.e. an appropriate mix of free market / entrepreneurship AND socialism / preservation of the commons; e.g. shoe factories / stores, bicycle factories, hotels etc etc should be in private hands, but the nation’s central bank should be under strict national control. Small entrepreneurs should be encouraged; we need many independent makers of USEFUL things (that people need and want — minimize advertising, or promote counter-advertising); we don’t need huge transnational corporations, we don’t need TTP, TTIP etc.
Ideological purities do not work! Last, every so many years (?), we should give the economy a “tune up”; even cars need it once a year, at least.
3. ENVIRONMENTALISM / CONSERVATIONISM: De-centralization, self-reliant regions (as much as possible); appropriate technologies (in the sense of E. Schumacher, L. Mumford, et al — small is beautiful); sense of limits, sense of sacredness of place / nature (on which we depend!), no hubristic techno-messianism, no techno-religion, no artificialization of nature.
Got to re-examine the idea (illusion) of “progress” …
4. DIRECT DEMOCRACY: Decentralization, as much as possible, Today, we CAN replace elections (to a very large extend) by POLLS (as frequently as desired) — feasible and inexpensive
BUT, FIRST we debate extensibly and publicly, THEN we poll!
In closing this very terse summary, today the terms “left” and “right” (and “conservative”) are largely meaningless; they are used to divide and conquer us. Today it’s the STATE vs. YOU, the CITIZEN!
Notice that today’s leftists (whatever that means) LOVES THE STATE, BUT HATES THE NATION.
So, let’s drink to a SYNTHESIS of patriotism, with justice, ecology, direct democracy!
“Your fierce opposition to classical Marxism and all forms of socialism forecloses ”
-No, no I have no opposition to classical marxism or socialism. Quite the opposite, I am a socialist myself. Thought I reject the socialism infected with culturalmarxist.. I would probably be described as far left in economics(socialist) and far right(Traditionalist) in politics.
Today in western society all mainstream ideologies represented by the old parties is the same cultural marxist junk, doesn’t matter if it is the right parties or left or far left or pure communist, gay pride, massimmigration, radical feminism and queer theory, that is all they care about.
This is however mostly limited to elites, the working class is still generally normal socialist. As shown in opinion polls when the white working class votes increasingly nationalistic and conservative.
yes, I concur with your objection to the term culturalmarxism. No doubt it’s a remnant of the old Soviet days when it was trying to spread Marxism. However, such “spreading of -ism” started way before Karl Marx – the Missionaries did it way before, converting 100s of millions (while at the same time killing millions). So it’s more like cultural-missionarism !
“So it’s more like cultural-missionarism !”.
I fully agree that this is a more appropriate description than cultural Marxism. They are trying to usher in the age of the anti- Christ. This is what they are doing. I realise that people who are not particularly religious may have a problem with this but nevertheless it is very real. The greatest trick the devil has ever played is to convince us he doesn’t exist, or “The individual is handicapped by coming face-to-face with a conspiracy so monstrous he cannot
believe it exists”. Deconstructing society and established norms to destroy the cohesiveness of society, and by the way this has nothing to do with multiculturalism as a society could be multicultural and still be cohesive. By breaking down the family unit that is the basis of a functioning society they hope to isolate us so as to better rule over and control us. An individual is easier to control than a group of like minded people. Divide and rule is the order of the day.
I do agree that America today constitutes the greatest of all existential threats to all nations on this planet of ours, even to their own so called “allies”, because sooner or later as the noose tightens and they think they can benefit from it they will also begin doing to their “allies” what they have been doing to dozens of countries the world over.
The massive and sudden influx of refugees to Europe after nearly five years of conflict in Syria is no accident.
Very correct there. The US and some of the others are settler societies.Their elites understand very well how to deal with “multiculturalism” in societies. They know how it prevents unity among the “lower classes” (i.e. us) and allows wealth alone to determine who rules. So that is one big reason they push this immigration into the EU (and around the World). They don’t have to ethnically change completely those societies. But by diluting them by another 10-20% is all it takes at first. The infighting and disagreements among people in their societies will assure the local elites (and from the distance, their masters in the US) of keeping power for the future.By the time the “people” in those countries understand the problem (if they ever do),its too late to fix the situation without total upheaval in their nations.
@ know the truth – “The greatest trick the devil has ever played is to convince us he doesn’t exist”
And the devil’s biggest failure has been to not forcefully demonstrate the true nature of the God/Jesus/Spirit deity as a cad.
At least the devil knows “the creators” true nature /controversy-is-good-if-it-makes-you-think/comment-page-1/#comment-113193
To understand what is happening in western Europe now, it is necessary to know what culturlalmarxism is, because this ideology is the main force behind the terrible development there.
Yes,you are right. Its the “favor of the month”.It serves several purposes. It explains a complicated problem for for the semi-educated masses. And it is a “good” talking point for the right to throw at Marxists.
A, so that is why, I thought it weird after a long time of being still, suddently ISIS is attacking all over the front.
They want to recreate another Afghanistan in Syria for the Russian forces. They are so transparent about it in what they say and do. The plan is for Russia to exhaust its blood and treasure once again in Syria fighting against the highly dispensable and disposable tentacles of the yankee monster several thousands of miles removed from the actual fighting.
I will say this one more time. If the Russians are really serious about getting rid of terrorism and terrorists once and for all they have to do so in Washington, not in Syria, not in Ukraine or Afghanistan, etc. The evil emanates from Washington and it is in Washington that it must be destroyed. The Americans are fighting WWIII through their murderous and psychopathic throw away jihadi head choppers. The war needs to be brought home directly to them.
Restoring America is not Russia’s job. It is the responsibility and the duty of the American people.
No nation, not China, not Russia, will wage on their own accord direct war against the US. The US will be defeated differently – by braking apart, by implosion – economically, financially, politically. The US will be quarantined by the nations of the world.
Iran should just send 20 000 troops to Syria and finish the whole thing, it is not like it would be complicated like if Russia wanted to send troops to Donbass, Syria is the legitimate government and internationally recognized, and ISIS is a threat to all, including Iran, and the Alawites are shia that would likely be exterminated if ISIS won. If Iran announced an expeditionary force that would be no biggy.
If the Iranian government asked for volunteers from its people it would probably get hundreds of thousands of volunteers ready to fight ISIS even more if it asked for general help too like logistics, medical aid and such.
The Syrian army should also establish a proper structure to recruit international volunteers, they could probably get thousands of international volunteers if they put up a good website, in as many language as possible, and as many people working on the site ready to answering all question.
All logistics such as transport and ticket buying and such would be taken care of. So the only thing a volunteer would need to do was fill out her or his name on the website and some guys would come and pick the volunteer up in their home country and drive them to the airport where ticks and such would be ready..
And once they arrived they would be place in a specific area with others that spoke their language, where they would be taken care of regarding food and the like.. All weapons and military gear would be provided and a short training program just to familiarize with the new group for those with experience and a longer training program for those without experience.
There would be a largly symbolic salary, but all essential things such as food would be taken care of.
I agree with you there. The numbers of troops are too small for real victory on the governments part. And you are right on the “volunteers” (but not Russian volunteers if they can be stopped. They are needed for the “other” war in Ukraine.) There are thousands (I believe) of ex-military men that would join the Syrians (and Iraqis) to fight beasts like ISIS.We hear about jihadi volunteers joining ISIS.I think they would be outnumbered 5-1 by others wanting to fight ISIS.Its a matter of those governments asking for those men. They should have done that a long time ago.It would “split the West”,like Ukraine can’t.No European (or Westerner in general) believes ISIS are the “good guys” in this war (except for some Western Islamist’s of course). The West trying to stop them from helping protect Christians and non-Wahhabi Muslims, from the “head chopping, women enslaving, liver eating jihadis” would split the Western public enormously. And expose to all the World the neo-cons plans.Like cockroaches, and rats, they don’t like “light” they work better with darkness.
The more I read the Saker the more I am convinced by his analysis. There is not going to be an easy victory without stopping the terrorists’ sponsors: Erdogan, the Qatar’s Emir and KSA’s King.
I hope that Russia will not fall in the trap of sending ground troops to Syria but eventually some missiles from the Caspienne navy could blow the palaces of the King, the Emir and Erdogan. They have no means to retaliate and I do not believe that the US will start a nuclear war for those three criminals.
I will add that Washington and Tel-Aviv who are pushing Saudi-Arabia and Qatar to commit those crimes are out of reach without a major nuclear war. Only a major economic crisis will free the world of those nasty snakes. Turkey does not need to be pushed for commiting crimes. For me Erdogan is mad and I am not sure that Washington is able to control him. They let him loose today as Erdogan want to destroy Syria. After that they will get rid of him.
Pepe Escobar did a piece on Aleppo in RI. It is a very important battle and must be won:

What don’t we know!
Look at a map.
Just north of Aleppo, Syria’s largest city, is the, NATO, and Zionist American puppet, and historical oppressor of Greeks, Kurds, Armenians, and Arabs, and its own people, – the Turkish Fascist State. It will be necessary, but quite difficult for Syria to guard its northern border from terrorist incursions coming from there, and at the same time, guard its southern border from terrorist incursions directly placed by the Zionist fascist state. Look at your maps.
The 3rd World War will be long and hard. It is on!- (as we say in Brooklyn). We hope the Nuclear weapons will not be used, – (even though some were in WW II).
*This is Key:
No, Hollywood Obomber is not some unfortunate (but kindly) prisoner of the White House who has done his best to restrain the Military Financial Complex, (a personage) of whom history will some day speak/write kindly of. Official Rothschild History will write as it is instructed, but Hollywood Obomber is as real as your imagination wishes to make him. In 2016, you might even vote for the kindly (neo-Nazi Terrorist) Hilary Clinton, and go home, comfortable in your one dimensional world, as the nations burn.
**Pay attention:
The Center of the Universe is in Aleppo, then it shifts to Damascus, then to the Golan Heights, then back to Estonia (I warned you), then to Donetz and Luhansk.
The Israelis and their puppet Americans are counterattacking, out of Turkey, south into Syria. There is no surprise here. The Russians, Syrians, Hezbollah, and Iranians, even the Iraqis saw that coming. As for the American sabotage of the Iraqi forces, well; just what have the American terrorists done, other than terrorize and decimate the Iraqi nation? Ever? Surprise? Only a willing counter insurgent Democrat gang Agent (fanboy) could even pretend surprise, or feign an attempt during a debate (televised or otherwise), to explain that to an unsuspecting “I didn’t know that”-liberal.
Does any honest human expect the Zionist Americans to help the Iraqis to unite and defend their
nation? Say what? When Vladimir Putin refers to “Our Friends,” he is restraining a smile; watch next time.
The War is On!
The struggle For the Democratic Republics is going to be long and hard!
IMAGINE
Hi Peter, yeah, I was thinking today…Japan got nailed so badly in the WW2…then why are they the lap dogs of USA who decimated them ? How do oligarchs get away with this? all over the world.
This is exactly what I expected the Empire to do. I am sure that the Russian generals (plus allies) expected the same thing. Nothing to shock us here.
I would expect that within the next 3 months or so, the Russian air contingent will at least double.
I would also expect a lot more noise to come from Iraqi MPs for help from Russia.
The possibility that Iran will be used as a base for Russian warplanes is also significant.
I would also expect some type of ground involvement from Russia. I am not sure why Putin and other Russian officials have definitively ruled it out? It probably means that any ground operations on the part of Russia will be in the form of Special Forces, Kadyrov’s Legion and also some veterans from the Donbass war.
As I now see it, the number one priority is to get rid of the current Iraqi President and have someone ready to stick it to the Americans.
I think that things are going well. The Empire of Evil is scrambling.
It would be very bad to send Russian soldiers to Syria I believe, different race, different people, different culture, different language, different religion(mostly), different food, different environment.. I don’t think you want to send your soldiers into such a situation. For Iran however it is the opposite, their soldiers would have no problem to adapt to the condition in Syria.. So if any is to send troops it is Iran.
Yes, probably, Putin already signed that law which makes peacetime casualties a state secret, but beyond special forces there probably will not be any Russian forces.. Russia also must be prepared for a suddent assult by Ukraine on Crimea or Donbass. If the Donbass defenses were to falther, Russia must be ready to send a force in to save them.
I tend to agree that Russia sending ground troops would be a bad idea. Bad international politics, bad domestic politics, and as Liz points out, militarily a problem due to being foreigners.
But if Russia were to send ground troops, I don’t think special forces would be the right approach. We’ve become hypnotized by “special forces” because the Americans love them. Look how well that’s worked out for the Americans. They’re actually the most likely troops to create problems due to cultural differences and ignorance; special forces tend to be a recipe for blowback and rifts with your local allies; the Americans don’t care because their local allies are normally worthless (if they weren’t, they wouldn’t have joined American invaders) and because they don’t give a damn about locals anyway. Also frankly I think the US military has been seduced by the apparently easy answer and the coolness factor.
The best contribution Russia could make in terms of ground forces would be the other extreme: Garrison units. Replace Syrian troops in garrisons, hold areas that are currently quiet to free up the Syrian troops to go fight without needing to worry there’ll be a blowup in their undefended rear. Have them man the border by the Golan heights, complete with their modern anti-air missile systems, and see how little trouble the Israelis cause.
That way, the Russians wouldn’t be killing any Arabs, or if they did it would just be defence against attacks. They wouldn’t be breaking down people’s doors and creating all kinds of incidents, so they wouldn’t become unpopular. And they wouldn’t be taking many casualties, so it wouldn’t be unpopular at home. But every Russian soldier would still mean one more soldier actively fighting ISIS.
The Russians will send in as much personnel as needed – spetsnaz included (they are already on the ground, protecting the Lattakia air base). Proper ground troops, no.
Iran already promised a million boots on the ground. Their rhetoric tends to be a little bombastic at times, but they probably mean it, if necessary. Russia has the draft, so they are definitely preparing for WWIII and all contingencies.

yesterday u report that saa and hezbolah control Jisr Al-Shoughour and surround hils
Today at u cart that region still in SAA hand , but i cant find any other sourc for confirm that.
Any can confirm that and make my day little better?
Yes, I would like to see this as well, liberating Jisr Al-Shoughour would be huge.
Last I heard, they were slowly pushing throughout the Sahl al-Ghab and was a long way from Jisr Al-Shoughour
Some of the news items that SouthFront and others publish come from Syrian media. Unfortunately this media can be optimistic.
I find Military Maps give a pretty good basic picture
According to the field reports, SAA and Hezbollah seized back Jisr al-Shughou on Tuesday. For our maps, we use field reports & open information. Thus, we have “some differences” as against MSM following some UK based “humanitarian experts”.
Nonetheless, even in this case, I’ve found 2 links about this fact in 2 mins:

The forward positioning of extensive ammunition and weapons for a broad land offensive by Syrian Army and Kurds, Quds force and Hezbollah would take some time.
These would come from China and Iran, as well as Russia.
Perhaps, even some coming from Russian and Chinese client states using the same systems.
Coordinating this positioning for a cataclysmic land war that will trap and destroy all ISIS and AQ forces in Syria and Iraq is large theater operational logistics.
Be patient. Putin entered the war to save Syria, protect Christianity and kill all the terrorists.
There are forces of obstruction in operation (US, Turkey, Saudi and Qatar).
War is complicated at best. Under these conditions, it will take several months more before the battlefield is prepared.
Read Sun Tzu to get some fundamental background. https://www.sonshi.com/original-the-art-of-war-translation-not-giles.html
From what i have heard from Putins speeches, is that Russia’s plan is to save the coastal base and make sure Damascus does not fall to ISIS. I dont hear of any great plan by Russia to save Aleppo, that has all been the SAA talk and just wishful thinking by others.
I would say the chances of the SAA taking Aleppo is about the same as Obamas “Moderate rebels” beating ISIS. Just aint going to happen.
Putins idea of a political settlement seems to be the only solution but how you have a political settlement with ISIS, I dont know.
He doesn’t want a political settlement with ISIS.He is talking about a settlement with the internal Syrian opposition. Not the foreign jihadis. He has another plan concerning them,a short trip to the boneyard,or them fleeing to the West. Some to one, some to the other.
Yet, it is in Aleppo the offensive is most successfull.
The political settlement refers to a elections inside Syria under OSCE supervision, I believe, fully legitimizing the Syrian government in the eyes of everyone in the world(execpt USA ofc).
After that it refers to Syria and all other parties to the conflict agreeing to work with the now fully legitimized government of Syria to form a united front against ISIS.
This is something USA ofc will resist, but might be forced into if everyone recognizes the Syrian government.
ISIS has come back and is putting the hurt on the SAA in Aleppo.
From what Putin and Assad are saying, they will do reforms and hold early elections “after” terrorism is sorted. Well I just dont see ISIS going away anytime soon, so that makes elections years away.
As Uncle Bob points out, Russia wants Assad on the ballot paper (which is only fair). The US and their “moderate terrorists” are never going to agree to that because they could loose against Assad and just how stupid would they look then.
This all has a way to go yet.
It would be possible for Assad (I think) to agree to new elections even right now .Since the only areas even feasible to hold elections would be the government held areas.Where his support is very strong. But for elections to really be “meaningful” the whole country (or the vast majority of it) would have to be pacified and liberated from the jihadi terrorists. That is why the West keeps up the “mantra” of “Assad must go”.They know they can’t win a free election.Their biggest supporters are the jihadi terrorist elements. And with them defeated and pacification of the country Assad would be even more popular than ever.Their only chance to get control of Syria is through a jihadi victory,or a brain-dead deal on the part of the government side to give the “opposition” some big powers in a unity government. And that is a “deal” the government of Syria should avoid at any cost.Even if it means the war must continue to the end of one side or the other. For Syria “the” problem to be avoided is “snatching defeat from the jaws of victory”, through some kind of a disastrous “peace settlement” negotiated by foreign powers without their input.
The the above post was mine. Didnt realize I hadnt logged my name in.
I don’t believe they mean defeat all terrorism in Syria, only improves Assad position on the ground so it looks like he wont be defeat by american terrorists, then once Saudiarabia, Turkey, Qatar, USA sees that, and they know the terrorists they support wont win, they will have little choice but to accept a political settlement in Syria and battle ISIS togheter.
The obvious goal is to secure Syria’s sovereignty and to expel the bulk of the mercenary-terrorists out of Syria. Nothing less.
Sorry to be boring and stupid yet again, and this comment is more related to the general sad scene rather than a particular act, but –
(1): I fail to see how you can defeat an enemy if you are not shooting at the right target – in WW2 I’d be surprised if the Soviet army were routing communication of their future actions thru Germany, but I’m not a soldier – and –
(2): for future peace, of course diplomacy always, but again you’re dealing with rigid set in stone idealogies with the medieval ‘religious’/fascist Saudi’s, Isreali’s, NeoCapitalist Americans and their me-too’s. In my simple minded opinion such folk can not open their minds to real change and if forced to will just retreat to fight another day – sadness.
yes, Sadness, did you see Ghassan Kadi’s article here at Saker’s last week (or so) about the problem of the ISIL fundamentalist mentality in Islam ?
this fundamentalist stance is in all the religions, as far as I know, and if the young Muslim men hadn’t grown up without culture, because FUSA has decimated all of it, then it wouldn’t be such a problem….
So sad.

This is part of what future negotiations on Syria will reveal: that the US and its vassal states are not ready to negotiate as equal partners, thus exposing their duplicity further. And the US’s duplicity has to be exposed further. This is key.
The Kurd militias – themselves riven by different agendas and loyalties – are not, according to this blogger, making defeating ISIS their overall objective: instead, some Kurd militias are focussing on how to remake the map to favour a ‘Kurdistan (from a chunk of Syria):

Let’s hope the office opened recently in Russia helps the Kurdish factions to wise up, and stop being used for ends that will only see a small percentage of them better-off, and keep the border areas in a state of impoverished instability.
The problem I see in quickly routing the Terrorists is they’ve had extensive time to fortify each small town and turn them into mini-Stalingrads complete with tunnel systems a la Viet Cong that Outlaw Empire never could defeat. Blitzkrieg doctrine would have SAA bypass such strong points and reduce them slowly, but even then it’s difficult to minimize casualties given the nature of the combat–SAA soldiers being not as motivated to die as Daesh terrorists. I recall the use of special tracked 150mm howitzers in urban settings to demolish strong points without having to storm them. This item describes such combat,http://sputniknews.com/military/20151022/1028961124.html Then there’s the huge cost in rebuilding after such warfare.
Does anyone else question the efficacy of the talks in Vienna?
When will a Daesh oil tanker convoy be hit by an air strike? Has Russia prioritized them too low?
I read Russia’s using a new airstrip in Hama province but can’t find that link at the moment.
Pepe as usual has his frankly open and colorful strategy all laid out about Vienna..
He is right, as long as the goon squad are not worried about casualties, they can send out suicide squads to take pot shots and close supply lines. The SAA sees the goons and runs before even firing a shot, they know what happens to them if they are cut off. So the goons can be effective only as long as their supply lines are open and the SAA has trouble with their own supply lines. As long as SAM’s and ATGM’s and the like are provided to the terrorists, this war will continue. we saw in Afghanistan that 2-3 millions people died yet less than 10K soviets died.. In the end the soviets left.. Raqqa attack cost IS more than 2000 men. If they can waste that kind of man power, they will remain effective to a point. And as long as the US can keep training even more terrorists they will keep on coming. The only way this will stop is to turn the tables on the terrorist supporters. When you have state sponsors with untold amounts of weapons and money, peace is not achievable.
I’m the Caliph; hear me roar
As for Iraq, the Obama administration and the Pentagon now barely qualify as the butt end of running jokes. Sunnis in Anbar province are furious that the mightiest satellite surveillance system in history simply failed to register ISIS/ISIL/Daesh’s advances, from Tikrit to Ramadi and environs.
To add a final insult to (repeated) injuries – as in the “4+1” intel center in Baghdad, excluding the US, plus the authorization for Russia to bomb fake “Caliphate” convoys trying to cross from the Syrian desert – Baghdad and the EU have just agreed to set up yet another intel center to exchange data on ISIS/ISIL/Daesh. The bottom line is the Obama administration is absolutely terrified that the EU is inclined to support the Russian campaign – increasingly regarding the Coalition of the Dodgy Opportunists (CDO) for what it is; a joke.
As it stands, there’s not going to be a frontal attack on Aleppo by the SAA and Iran/Hezbollah, covered by the Russian Air Force; instead, the “4+1” strategy will be to disrupt to the max the logistical supply routes to all Salafi-jihadi outfits, which implies trying to cut off the flux of cash and weapons smuggled via Turkey.

F. William Engdahl, 26 October 2015, http://journal-neo.org/2015/10/26/genies-and-genocide-syria-israel-russia-and-much-oil-2/ , Genies and Genocide: Syria, Israel, Russia and Much Oil
“… The geopolitical stakes in the Middle East have just gotten higher by an order of magnitude. Take a little-known Newark, New Jersey oil company, the contested Golan Heights between Syria and Israel, add a reported major oil discovery there just as Russia’s bombing campaign in Syria goes into high gear, shake it vigorously and we have a potential detonator for World War III. …”
Vienna talks on syria
It has been agreed that they will implement a nation wide cease fire, defeat ISIS and have a secular government all in parallel.
Im not sure how they propose to defeat ISIS and have a cease fire at the same time.
The big question is how do you have a secular government when there are no secular people in the country. Doesnt sound very representative. It is a certainty that any secular representatives are either liers or in fact do not represent anyone.
The best idea to resolve all these contradictions is for ISIS to change their name to the “Syrian National Unity Party”. They can then be made government and everyone is happy.
A lot of videos on you tube talk about the fact that Christians are under attack at this moment by forces of Satan. I do not know if that is the case but I find that very strange that the name Isis was chosen for a terrorist force. I think that this is not a coincidence. I would like to give a few examples as to why I think that name has particular importance to the powerful men that rule our world.
For example there is the case of the all seeing eye on the back of the american dollar. This is a very important symbol of our oppression. What does it mean? I do not know. What I do know, is that the all seeing eye is also known as the eye of Horus. Horus, in case people do not know, is the son of Isis the Egyptian goddess of wisdom and fertility, I think.
Another clue that is being placed right in front of our nose is in the entertainment business. For example two of the most prominent singers of our time, Rihanna and Katy Perry have very strong egyptian symbols associated with them. Rihanna has Isis inked on her belly right under her breasts, so that everyone can be hypnotized by it when they ogle her breasts. Also, the ultra sexy Katy Perry has had a video lately with all kinds of egyptian symbols. Again, I do not know the meaning of this for the elites, why do all of these stars put one finger in front of their lips in the sign of silence… What secret are they hinting at? What is up with the egyptian mythology all of a sudden.
Also in the corporate world, you have the name Isis that shows up from time to time. For example, a lot of people on the internet have questioned why Isis ( the terrorists group) have so many Toyotas. Often we seen a long line of brand new Toyotas being driven by them to drive around syria. There is even a car named after Isis. They called it: Toyota Isis.
Now I have nothing against Isis personally, I have a big portrait of her in my bedroom and I have always been fascinated by egyptian mysticism. The only thing that I find weird is that I believe that the people who control the federal reserve also believe in egyptian mysticism and also presumably the people who decided to call those terrorists with an egyptian name.
I know that a lot of nay sayers will claim that Isis stands for Islamic State of Iraq and Syria but I just find it a bit too convenient. I also know that the Ukrainian dollar has a big pyramid on its back. I do not remember if it is the 500 note or what but I remember seeing a pyramid with a circle in the middle. I believe that there is a deeper game being played here. The power that be are having a little laugh at our expense by placing their chosen religion everywhere in front of our nose and laughing at us when we do not connect the dots.
This I think is the ultimate power trips of the elite. They place all their hints in plain sight and all of the sleeping sheeps on this planet do not ever notice anything. Like with those serial killers that leaves hints to toy with the people that try to solve the mystery of their crimes. I think we are dealing with some twisted people at the top.
