Islamic State representatives have taken many efforts to claim responsibility for placing a bomb on board a Russian Metrojet passenger airplane bound for Saint Petersburg from Sharm el Sheikh in Egypt. Kogylmavia (Metrojet) Flight 9268 broke apart in the air over Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula on Saturday, October 31, and the wreckage landed in an area roughly 20 square kilometers in size, leading to the death of all 224 passengers and crew on board, including dozens of children.
Videos published by the Islamic State immediately claimed responsibility for the atrocity and multiple videos claiming responsibility were published over several days, with the latest high quality production being released Wednesday. Initially, facts about the largest catastrophe in Russian aviation history were few and far between and analysts were confined to the field of speculation on technical conditions of the airplane and other accidental factors as playing the major role in the downing of the jet. However, Western governments, especially the US and the UK, released their own intelligence based on undisclosed evidence claiming that the aircraft carrying hundreds of Russian tourists to a popular vacation destination may in fact have been targeted by Islamic State militants or sympathizers who probably snuck a bomb on board the airliner.
Realistically, the possible causes of an Airbus A321 passenger jet breaking up in mid-air are quite limited. The range of technical factors involved in previous air catastrophes have not been known to cause a structural breakup of the fuselage in midair and big, clunky surface-to-air missile technology required to bring down a passenger jet flying at a height of 10,000 meters are clearly visible to satellites and thoroughly tracked by various intelligence agencies. Mobile surface to air missiles don’t have the range necessary to reach a passenger airline and air-to-air missiles will be excluded from this analysis because it is also relatively easy for intelligence agencies to track fighter jets.
Although anything is possible in an atmosphere of uncertainty, if we remove these causes from the list of factors for the purpose of continuing this thought exercise, and exclude any overly fantastic explanations, only one real cause remains – that of an explosive system snuck on board the flight. Medical experts also seem to corroborate this conclusion by claiming that injuries on the deceased passengers are consistent with those suffered by people in the damage zone of an explosion.
While leaving the work to forensics experts and not drawing any conclusions before experts make their results known, we can still work with the information that has been released and use this unfolding narrative as a base for analysis.
If in fact Islamic State militants or sympathizers did manage to deliver an explosive device on board Metrojet Flight 9268, this narrative speaks volumes about the true enemies of the Islamic State and priorities of the militant group to affect public and governmental opinion in different countries. Russian airstrikes on Islamic State targets, as well as targets of other extremist groups like al Nusra and Ahrar al Sham, were only started on September 30, just over a month ago, while airstrikes of ‘Coalition’* forces targeting the Islamic State had already been ongoing for over a year when Russian airstrikes began.
Without undermining the terrible nature of previous Islamic State atrocities, including mass killings and beheadings, the downing of a Russian airliner in scale and international visibility, especially taking into account the amount of foreigners killed in one attack, would make the downing of Metrojet Flight 9268, if experts confirm that it has in fact been perpetrated by Islamic State, the biggest in scope and scale to date. The amount of planning, international coordination, money spent in bribes, and other complicated managerial requirements to oversee and carry out such a multi-faceted and complex crime, even down to selecting the proper flight carrying a majority of Russian citizens and getting the timing right, requires a considerable amount of energy and resources. Further, after only a month of Russian airstrikes, the time constraint on the planners also plays a vivid role.
The central question to this puzzle thus becomes: why in fact did the Islamic State choose to target a Russian airliner instead of an American airliner, or any other passenger plane from a country belonging to the ‘Coalition’ forces, especially if the ‘Coalition’ forces have been hitting Islamic State targets for a much longer period of time?
In fact, (again – if this disaster is confirmed to have been committed by the Islamic State), Islamic State militants are confirming the veracity and effectiveness of Russian airstrikes compared to the strikes of the ‘Coalition’ forces, which have clearly not elicited the same intensity in terms of response.
I would like to highlight that any tragedy is terrible and I am in no way trying to undermine the suffering of those affected by other heinous acts of the Islamic State. However, it is important to coldly analyze the tactics of this group for the reason described by Sun Tzu many thousands of years ago: “Know your enemy”.
Not only does this desperate act of retribution confirm the devastating effect that Russian airstrikes are having on operations of the Islamic State, but it also highlights the lackluster nature of ‘Coalition’ airstrikes using the same measurement. ‘Coalition’ airstrikes, despite their much longer duration and the much larger amount of sorties flown by ‘Coalition’ jet fighters, are simply not affecting Islamic State operations, notably being unable to prevent the expansion of Islamic State in any significant way and being unable to curtail physical and operational capabilities. ‘Coalition’ forces have not published results of their airstrike campaign in the same thorough and detailed nature that the Russians have. There are no lists of dead IS commanders, training centers, weapons labs, or even munitions storage sites.
Islamic State almost seems comfortable to let the ‘Coalition’ strikes continue, perhaps in an effort to allow the ‘Coalition’ forces to report to their people that they are trying to stop the Islamic State while actually also allowing the Islamic State to tacitly achieve their geopolitical goals of rearranging the political order to the Middle East before even thinking about lifting a finger to actually prevent it. And this is certainly not for lack of military technical capabilities or intelligence, which the ‘Coalition’ forces have in abundance, or for any sort of incompetence, as many layers of ‘Coalition’ generals and experts are involved in the war effort.
In this respect, the Metrojet catastrophe (if confirmed as perpetrated by the Islamic State) is sending a very strong signal of the realities of military operations and military alliances in the Middle East. The Russian airstrikes are actually presenting a clear and present danger to the aspirations of the Islamic State and having a real and measured effect on their operations, thus, Islamic State scrambled to seek revenge in a very dramatic and visible way. The ‘Coalition’ forces are in a ‘scratch my back, I scratch yours’ relationship, where ‘Coalition’ strikes serve only a cosmetic, public relations purpose without actually impeding or infringing on any Islamic State priorities, in a policy that requires loud banging of drums in the domestic press to convince constituents that Islamic State is ‘being taken care of’, but a pragmatic policy of ‘looking the other way’ while Islamic State takes care of Bashar al Assad, then Hezbollah, then takes Baghdad, then begins to fight Iran – leaping over all of the major American, Turkish, and Gulf State geopolitical hurdles in the Middle East – before somehow finally coming to their senses and riling their populations with war fever to convince them to rise up with massive troop and hardware deployments and explosions in military budgets to tackle the Great Evil 2.0.
There is no clearer signal of the stomach churning level of cynicism combined with utterly hypocritical opportunism of the ‘Coalition’ forces than the Islamic State attack on Metrojet Flight 9268 (if confirmed – for the last time, I promise).
* ‘Coalition’ is always in brackets because it is an open secret that the vast majority of ‘Coalition’ forces, including technical military hardware and personnel, is actually American.
Michael Fallon,UK Offence Minister:
” ‘Morally indefensible’ not to bomb IS in Syria ”
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-34742361
This is an example of the orchestated ‘5 eyes’ approach.
what ‘may’ be legal in Iraq…is not legal in Syria…….time will tell, but once order is restored I am hopeful that Fallon, along with ‘Butcher’ Blair,Camoron and their ilk, will have adjoining cells in the Hague
No,no,adjoining places in line on the wall for the firing squad. The mercy of a cell should not be wasted.Though I would grant them the gallows instead if they preferred, that could be their choice.
For this alone the soldiers should prepare their rifles and pick those for the squad:
” The Kremlin has lashed out at Downing Street for failing to share crucial intelligence that indicates Saturday’s Russian passenger jet crash in Sinai, which killed all 224 people on board, was caused by an Islamic State bomb.”
“Russia’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said Britain’s failure to hand over its intelligence is “genuinely shocking.”
“If such information exists, and judging by what the Foreign Secretary has said it is, no one has passed it to the Russian side.”
https://www.rt.com/uk/321045-sinai-crash-bomb-intellegence/
Now for the French, let me remind that their traditional method is by guillotine. And Hollande and others I’m sure could be easily accommodated. And if anyone would ask why.Besides the numerous crimes they have/are committing. This here should be enough:
” Russians have reacted with anger after the French satirical magazine published caricatures of the Russian passenger aircraft crashing in Egypt. Social media in Russia has erupted in fury at the portrayal, with users condemning its publication by Charlie Hebdo”.
“One Twitter user questioned why the staff at Charlie Hebdo had not printed a cartoon of the members of their team had been shot by jihadists in Paris in January. The user added sarcastically, “That would have been really funny for them.”
“Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov called the cartoons published by Charlie Hebdo “blasphemy.”
“In our country, this would be called ‘blasphemy.’ It has nothing to do with democracy or with self-expression. It is just blasphemy,” Peskov said.”
“My colleagues and I tried to find caricatures of the Charlie Hebdo journalists in the magazine, who were shot by terrorists. We were unable to find them. But if they were published, then it would also be blasphemy, well at least in our country,” he added.”
“A Russian lawmaker called the cartoon, which shows the plane falling near a jihadist fighter, “blasphemy” and an “insult.”
“I believe it is blasphemy and ridicules the memory of those who lost their lives as a result of this catastrophe. This should not be used by any media organizations in any form whatsoever or in any particular genre in which they may specialize,” said Igor Morozov, a member of the Federation Council.”
“Maria Zakharova, the spokeswoman for the Russian Foreign Ministry, wrote on her Facebook page: “Is anyone still Charlie?”
As I recall Saker caught a lot of flax for exposing these trash and saying he wasn’t “Charlie”.And “lo and behold”, only a few months later he is shown correct.
https://www.rt.com/news/321019-charlie-hebdo-cartoons-plane/
Yeah, right on cue, israel’s Charlie hebdo psywar outfit jumps right in.
Saker did get a lot of flak over his condemning those soulless sods. It was much worse, in fact, as the site was sabotaged and vandalized. Some of the websayanim involved in that cowardly attack are still posting comments here. Support for Charlie hebdo is actually a very useful “litmus test” for determination of whether the person is genuine, or just spam.
Yes, the entire French Saker team disintegrated over the issue.
Now, how do they feel?
France has shame on its face again and again.
Le Pen is their only voice of reason.
I never had much respect for that bunch, but it sure has gone way down now, I am beginning to wonder if something in the water makes their politicians retarded.. First they tried to con india into buying a large number of jets by using tricks and bribery then when it was time to sign the papers they raised the price 200%. So they could push out the euro and british out of the deal? Not sure what they were thinking.. Then they tried to do it again.. Then they cancel the mistrals, a ship using Russian tech.. After having already given the Russians the most important parts of it, the software to control the entire thing… I had to go huh… then bombing Libya.. One of the most brazen imperialistic action I seen in decades.. Now they want to bomb Syria? with their pea shooting reversing carrier? Assad must go?? frenchy go home more like it, they hold a conference on syria without anyone from the other side?.. We already saw the damage france did by dividing Syria, Iraq and other areas like they did. france was directly responsible for a lot of the misery in the middle east. The brits at least did it in a way to get something out of it, the French did it for reasons even they don’t know. Seems they had left their minds in the deserts and never bothered to develop a new one. Maybe they should first make a gun that fires first.. Remember the first global terrorist army, the French foreign legion.. viva la frenchy.. IS should fit right at home in paris..
For a pip squeak of a country, that guy sure struts his ass as wide as possible.
Well, a political class that treats a two-bit pseud like Bernard Levi as a serious intellectual is in pretty dire shape. Mr Orange (Hollande) is one of the outward symptoms, but by no means the only one.

Let’s add:
their continued malice and bloodsucking in Africa which they still treat like their possessions: supporting coups, deposing legally elected leaders that want to break exploitative deals. Etc.
Usury finance policies imposed on their ex-colonies that prevent those African nations from pooling their own money to finance their own projects: instead they must seek financing from French sources.
Forcing African commodity producers to sell only thru their own multinationals leaving the Africans with pennies for products that the French mark-up many-fold. (Cocoa & others).
Supporting massive money laundering and theft by aiding African dictators (that they appointed) to send the stolen money to French banks and properties.
Defrauding Greece (along with German Banks) into bankruptcy, debt-slavery and depopulation by giving loans thru Greece’s corrupt oligarchs & politicians in volumes they knew the Greeks would never be able to pay back.
And… let us not forget their role and Belgium’s in the Rwandan genocide.
Destroying Libya and supporting terrorists.
Attempting to destroy Syria and supporting Islamist terrorists there too.
Having a President named “Hollande” that loves behaving like Netanyahu’s personal poodle, lackey and mistress now that Obama gave Bibi the boot to the ass. How humiliating for the French.
Ironically, while France continues neo-colonial policies elsewhere, France is also a hijacked country, where the banks and European banking families own the politicians. A selfish elitist corporatist-finance dominated society with a fake veneer of socialism. The corruption just increases year over year. Sad that they’ve sold out their sovereignty so thoroughly.
It is time for the people of France to complete the tasks of their revolution. Bourgeois Right must end.

Isn’t that British PM Cameron’s schtick?
For the uninitiated PM Cameron seems to have a penchant for Pigs according to one of his chief financiers. Google “Pig-Gate” for the sordid details Cameron and his attraction to pigs.

Today is the 98th anniversary of the Russian revolution — the fate of the Romanovs would serve the above-mentioned scum quite right.
The most remarkable feature of this article is the glaring, deafening absence of the perfectly reasonable hypothesis that the “Islamic State” received all the necessary help from its minders to place the explosive on board. Or that, in fact (since the “Islamic State” is hardly an autonomously generated entity) that it was the masters, creators, suppliers and administrators of the “Islamic State” who carried out this task for them, it being too delicate to leave it in the clumsy hands of the “Islamic State”. I mean, it is one thing to let these guys parade around in new Toyotas for visual effect, and quite another to put them in charge of blowing up an airplane. Don’t we think? For starters, who was in charge of security at the departing airport? Funny how the most reasonable suppositions are carefully avoided.
” For starters, who was in charge of security at the departing airport?”.
Funny you should ask that question. I was just thinking the same thing myself. I could be wrong but I think the answer to that question is the UK government in charge of security at the airport ?
And I find it very funny how both Camoron and Obama rushed to realease their “intelligence” speculations that it was a bomb on board.
These fools are sending president Putin a message that they did it in effect, to bear out the US defence secretaries predictions of Russia soon to be taking casualties because of their air strikes against ISIS in Syria.
One thing that I disagree with the author of this article over is his seeming conviction that ISIS and the US just have a “you scratch my back and I scratch yours” relationship. This implies a certain independence on the part of ISIS and the other terrorist groups. I think this is a wrong assumption. ISIS and all the other terrorist groups, Al-Qaeda, Boko Haram, etc., are all foot soldiers and storm troopers of the empire of chaos. President Assad in his most recent interview stated that while most of the ordinary foot soldiers of these psychopaths come from all round the Arab world their leaders and field commanders are all of north European origin and appearance. That tell you all you need to know.
Ask Rebekah Roth who she thinks was in charge of the Security Gate in Egypt….Israel probably…their company is world wide….same company that was working on the day of the hijacks of planes on 9/11

“Unlike its Gulf neighbours, Oman maintains good ties with Iran – a key backer of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.
It is also the region’s only Arab monarchy not to have cut ties with Damascus.
Alawi, for his part, said the sultanate was “exerting diplomatic efforts to find a peaceful solution in Syria and Yemen”.
Oman is seeking through “calm diplomacy… rapprochement among all parties to achieve long-lasting political solutions,” Alawi, who met Assad in Damascus last month, told ONA.
His visit to Damascus had been “necessary,” Alawi said, adding that the meeting with Jubeir had been scheduled before his talks with Assad.”

(4 November 2015) ~ The successes achieved by the Syrian Arab Army, in cooperation with popular defense groups, in the south-western countryside of Aleppo ended up with a state of desperation and collapse in the ranks of terrorist groups in the region, a military source told SANA.
On a relevant note, a military source confirmed those figures in a statement to SANA, saying that the Russian airstrikes have resulted in reducing the effectiveness of the command, communication, and provisioning systems of terrorist organizations, and inflected heavy losses upon them which caused the terrorists’ morale to plummet.

Dear Saker,
If those “moderate” terrorists funded/supported by Israel, Saudi Arabia and Western governments can murder children and elderly whenever these governments tell/pay them to, who is to say they will not take more money to blame themselves? Even though it wasn’t them. IMO… is the Mossad & Company behind this hideous murdering of these poor innocent Russians in the plane.
Too many in the world insist too that 911 was done by “Muslims terrorists”.
Unless, given 100 % proof of this claim, which to this day I have yet to see, I will go to my grave believing Muslims had nothing to do with it and Israelis & Co. much to do with it.
I don’t trust those Israelis as far as a top Steinstossen player can throw them.

If it was a bomb that destroyed the airliner, Mossad or the cia probably put it there. Not some “Muslim” terrorists. The way the U.S. and UK regimes are making claims it is most assuredly a zionazi/nazi covert op.
Also the “Muslim” terrorists didn’t mind israel’s pindo colony “attacking” them for the simple reason the “attacks” we’re mostly a cover for Israeli-American support ops for their terrorist proxies. Information, if it can be called that, made public about such attacks is mostly fabricated bs of a very goebbelsian sort.
Any theory is likely at this point.
Many “state players” have skin in the game. Any of these soulless monsters is capable.
Two states are not involved: Russia and Egypt. That we know for certain. They are the losers in this tragedy, short term. Long term, it bonds them closer in many ways.
“The Russian airstrikes are actually presenting a clear and present danger to the aspirations of the Islamic State and having a real and measured effect on their operations, thus, Islamic State scrambled to seek revenge in a very dramatic and visible way. ”
Exactly the logical conclusion I arrived at.
Why take “revenge” on your “in-the-closet” sponsors and enablers?
No, the “message” is meant as a punishment of and warning (of further punishments) to the serious adversary.
If this is true—and if a lot of people are connecting these two dots— then the next step in this game of “Signals” might, unfortunately, be that ISIS just might have to down an American airliner to camo the original motivations, de-connect dots, and “prove” that the Americans also pose a genuine, serious threat. .

Citing Western media sources, Durden narrated that it turned out that in summer 2015, Islamic State could have received millions of dollars in cash through Iraqi financial firms called “exchange houses.”
According to the analyst, US dollars were delivered to the Iraqi Central Bank from the Fed on a regular basis and then sold in daily auctions to thousands of so-called exchange houses. The Iraqi financial firms’ activities raised Washington’s suspicions: purportedly, some of them poured the American currency into Islamic State’s vaults.
In order to halt the cash flow “the US cut off Iraq’s access to dollar funding, nearly plunging the country into crisis,” Durden explained.
“We find it particularly amusing that the US is apparently so concerned about supplying Sunni extremist groups with dollars that Washington is willing to push Baghdad to the precipice of crisis in order to cut off the flow. After all, supplying Sunni militants with money and weapons is the whole strategy in Syria and has been from the beginning,” the analyst underscored with heavy irony.
Instead of pushing Iraq to the brink of financial catastrophe, the US policy-makers should focus on the Saudis and Qatar, who, with tacit approval of Washington, have been funding Sunni extremists in Syria and Iraq for years.
Durden called attention to the fact that Washington’s “concerns” about the fact that lots of weapons have found their way into the hands of ISIL jihadists sound no less ludicrous.

There is one devious culprit to watch—Turkey. Erdogan has much to lose in Syria. Kurds, Assad, Russian basing, his dependence on ISIS, impact of refugees, his alienation from EU/NATO, his ideological loses for the Muslim Brotherhood. He has placed his chips on all the wrong colors and numbers.
Yes, he won the election, but that was predictable. He created chaos at home and the people coalesced around the flag. He most likely bombed the peace march. He would bomb a civilian plane.
He has launched Turkic Uyghurs against China; why not use terrorism against Russia? Russian gas deal? He has set that aside for over a year.
Erdogan is on a march for power. His desperation has led to cascadingly bad decisions and acts of desperation.
Germany bought a $3 billion slowdown of release of refugees.
Maybe, he’s got a price in mind for Russia?
Strong indicators from Iraq that the ‘coalition’ is no longer fooling anyone:

I am pretty much convinced that there was some sort of device on board. However, with the West so quick and vociferous in pointing at ISIL, I can’t help but think that we are being distracted from the strong possibility that there are entities out there which deserve as much scrutiny as ISIS.Entities with far better intelligence and agents capable of pulling this off.
Motive? To cause Russians to pause in their support of Putin’s actions and as a major propaganda tool. I also think it is a warning of further damaging attacks forthcoming unless Putin backs off.
Listening to how the West is reporting this, I think ISIS is being scapegoated here.
Sure, ISIS is the strawman that has to pay. Who else? A nuclear armed nation?
Did Russian regulator attempt to ban Boeing 737 due to possibility of remote destruction?

“Civil aviation, in case of war, is automatically converted into military transport. To believe that the nation obsessed with espionage and known for its medieval treachery, had not foreseen the capability of disabling such an impressive fleet of a potential enemy, is impossible. It is not debatable.
“This is the reason, I think, for the ban on Boeing. It’s about time. At least these planes must be thoroughly checked out. And never buy anything from Americans. Or from the Europeans. If anything, we can make planes ourselves, it’s not Coca-Cola.”
The hidden software in volkswagen cars, monsanto’s efforts in gene manipulation, snowden’s nsa revelations or ash carter’s promise of a “few surprises” in the realm of cyber warfare can’t be ignored.
Yes, ‘coalition” strikes are a sham and continuation of a long line of activities promoting (or at least not impending) the most idiotic and bloodthirsty ideological currents in Islam for at least since the breakup of Yugoslavia. What I cannot figure out is: what for? What are the goals? Some clown would claim it is for “world domination”. I do not accept it. Assume they achieve it, than what?
grrr :”Then what?”
How about: Destroy rationality and order in order to prevent the emergence of any strong competitor? Then steal as much as possible from weakened, destroyed areas of the world.Or simply deny resources to possible challengers by wrecking everything in sight.
You say that’s disgusting, morally repugnant to you? This is the mistake of mirroring your own values of onto elites who reject your values, and are energized by evil intent toward any effective society or prominent individual that might block their privilege of determining who lives and who dies, who makes the rules and who suffers from the rules. They are not normal. They are oligarchy. A dark age is fine with them.
They actually spelled out their plans in the 1990’s.To make sure the US,as “the one and only exceptional nation”, remains able to dominate the entire World “forever” the so called “full spectrum domination”.To prevent any other nation becoming strong enough to ever challenge that domination. They weren’t bashful in proclaiming it even in print.Right then the World should have rallied against them and prevented that from happening. But they didn’t so now we are stuck , probably being doomed to war because of it.No one country must ever be allowed to rule the World. That is just the bottom line.It means the end of freedom and independence in the World if that ever is permitted. And that goes for the US,or Russia,or China, etc. No country can be allowed to have that much power in the World. The saying,”Power corrupts; absolute power corrupts absolutely”,has living proof in the case of today’s US.
The downing of a passenger jet and murder of 200+ innocent people is a massive admission of weakness.
They have nothing to counter Syrian, Russian and Iranian facts on the ground.
As the disintegration of ISIS begins, right on cue.
As Mohammad says…
Rejoice.
Salam C I eh?
Yes, giving away the Crimea on the silver platter was the biggest hint.
Then came the disappearance of a Malaysian Airline and then later again downing of another Malaysian Airline. Two in a row for holding Israel responsible for genocide of the Palestinians.
Now, the Russian Airline, the pattern is similar which reeks of kaka. The bully is very, very scared as the whole world is tired of it. The bully is scare but has the Sampson option, but it forgets that we have the David option…..
So yes rejoice until another thug takes over, while the children are busy in the cafes, smoking their favorite and telling tales.
“The Children of The Alley”, I recall the latest translation is the best…
Rejoice,
Mohamed.
When I saw the picture on the front page of a man with such a silly posed smile I decided to skip the article entirely. Then I noticed 2500 views and nearly 30 comments and concluded there must be something of substance within.
I read the article and was impressed with the clarity of style, information and reasoning. The comments complimented the article.
Is this the picture of the author? It seems it is. Even so, the picture of him in such a pose is not only inappropriate but downright misleading. It certainly was a turn-off to me. I doubt it is a disinfo plant but if it appeared anyplace other than here, that would be my impression.
I’m beginning to wonder if anyone remembers Marshall McLuhan’s book and its central thesis: The Medium is the Message.
FWIW, I had exactly the same reaction to both the article and the incongruous, off-putting photo. Strange choice.

Does anyone know whether the Russian helicopters have minimized their operations recently?
According to Southfront’s latest, they were spearheading a combined arms assault by the SAA. So, they’re very active.
Outlaw… left you a message regarding the book you recommended on that particular thread.
Cheers
They have increased the number of SU24’s to 30 now from 12.. They only have 4 SU 34’s and 12 SU 25’s… With another 12 helicopters of various kinds? The RuAF is taking out logistics.. And the SAA is after supply lines. I think they are doing what it takes to reduce IS from an Army into a band of terrorists. The SAA is also attacking on all fronts but not taking any territory unless it is important for the supply lines. Maybe trying to get the terrorists t expend their ammo and fuel supplies. This seems more like trying to map out supply lines since that should have been easy to do but they have not closed down supply lines. If it follows what Russians have done before, they would setup the battlefield and then give an ultimatum like in Stalingrad when the Germans were offered a great deal to surrender with food, medicine, extra privileges, reparations after the war which not even the US/UK prisoners got .. 2 months later those same germans surrendered unconditionally and less than 5% went home alive.
mmiriww
The Su-24 is a general work horse attack aircrafts. Such an increase in their numbers could signify the Russians are expanding their interdiction ops. That the Su-25 and helicopter forces are not being bolstered indicates close support aviation is doing fine.
The reduction of Su-34 numbers to 4 probably means a lack necessity for this aircraft, since Israeli-Amer, er…. IS air defense proved to be pathetic.
Anon 3:35 was me.
Interesting, someone else who seems to have studied Russian tactics after they got rid of the old tsarist officers.. They did this with both the Germans and Japanese..
Moot. says:
The premise of the campaign so far has been to deny logistics to the terrorists. So in that aspect you are 100% correct: roads are of primordial relevance. But this supremacy can only be reached if all fronts are pressured equally to deny the enemy the opportunity to reallocate resources or to allow them rallying time. Therefore the easiest landmarks will fall first. At this point Aleppo will have seen an influx of the most die-hard salafists to make a stand there since escape routes are cut and deserting is not a viable option. Kuweiris airport will be an “easy” walk compared to the more complex task of clearing Aleppo.
As an aside, it is evident Morek was allowed to fall back in the hands of salafists. The retreat of the SAA was orderly. This was done to pinpoint the salafists lines of supply and to allow the RuAF to do its job. i mention it because i think (especulate) that the russian theme is playing out here: give out terrain to observe the enemy’s capabilities
The way the salafists conducted this year’s campaign of terror was to their advantage when they had the confidence of having unlimited supply of ammo and the goal was to ethnically/religiously purge eastern Syria clean. in this aspect it was total war. now that Air cover courtesy of USAF and IAF is not available, the total war premise works against them. Salafists haven’t the slightest chance to win a war of attrition to the combined forces of SAA+Quds+Haz+Ruaf.
As i said in my initial post, the point of inflection of the campaign is much closer than the three months estimated by V.V.P. This will give the Vienna talks an added sense of drama since SA+US will be very agitated by the last 48 hour developments of the campaign.
The wild card is Erdogan at this point… Inspect his moves closely. he’s a bit distracted with the clampdown on his country but he will be ready to assume a new posture regarding Syria very soon.

I read, I think at Ft. Russ, that U.S. President Obama was the ONLY country “leader” who did NOT call or send personal and official/national condolences to Putin and the Russian People. The slight did not go unnoticed. This is such a staple of protocol, in fact, that it could not have been other than fully intentional. Equally egregious, more so in my book, it is a public announcement of a lack of compassion, perhaps worse. Were we living in less bizarre times, I might exclaim “Unbelievable!”
I hope that in their souls, the Russian People know that many American hearts are broken; and that many of the American Peoples invest their hope in the integrity of their President and his associates, who really do seem to work very hard for “Peace on Earth, Good Will to All.” If a politician has ever truly deserved a Peace Prize, it would be Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin.
@The amount of planning, international coordination, money spent in bribes, and other complicated managerial requirements to oversee and carry out such a multi-faceted and complex crime, even down to selecting the proper flight carrying a majority of Russian citizens and getting the timing right, requires a considerable amount of energy and resources.
Whodunit? But it was plainly stated by no less than the Defense Secretary Ash Carter “at a meeting of Nato defence ministers in Brussels on Thursday during which the ministers agreed to increase a Nato response force intended to move quickly to flashpoints”.
“Russia will pay price for Syrian airstrikes, says US defence secretary
Ashton Carter predicts reprisal attacks on Russian soil over Vladimir Putin’s military campaign to prop up Bashar al-Assad’s regime.”
“They have initiated a joint ground offensive with the Syrian regime, shattering the facade that they are there to fight Isil [Isis],” he added. “This will have consequences for Russia itself, which is rightly fearful of attacks. In coming days, the Russians will begin to suffer from casualties.”

The Charlie Hebdo obscene gloating over the Russian plane tragedy is another givaway of who’s behind it. It is a pure instance of chutzpah. It falls in the same category as the “humour” of Plutser-Sarno, Voina, Pussy Riot.
Agreed, that cartoon is so off-the-wall repulsive, it is beyond depraved. They want to demoralize the Russian people.
But there is hope for the grief-stricken, hurting, and bereaved. Remember when the Saker talked about how Angels are messengers of God? Well, all the mysterious big orange orbs that people are seeing in the night skies night after night all over the world are likely manifestations of the Archangel Metatron – the Angel of comfort and healing. Saw the orange orb a few weeks ago and it was very orangey bright and it wanted to be noticed. The message is that you are not alone. God is keeping tabs on every tear.
Reports in the French media about their experts revealing what they have heard on the Russian aircrafts black boxes, repeated in British media. Can anybody explain to me the naivety of allowing the French anywhere near this tragedy? This is shocking.
This is confidential and should not have been leaked. But like new movies someone sold the info. Since all the electronics are assembled at their plant in France, I would think the equipment to safely extract the flight data would also be there. Egypt/Russia must have sent the recorder to france to be decoded.. Credibility of the French in anything international seems to going down the drain with their antics. It is very rude to let something like this leak before the Russians make a statement on it. But that’s the French for you. Now if we can hear the MH17 recording..
You mention MH17, one would have thought lessons had been learnt? “Russia must have sent the recorder to france to be decoded.” It’s difficult for me to believe that Russia doesn’t have its own scientific expertise in this field. It is more than an act of rudeness in what is ( and has for a long time now) been a propaganda war between NATO and Russia. It is still incredibly niave to believe (after the Mistral fiasco, haven’t they also sold this to Egypt now?) that they would not leak this. Better to have sat on it like MH17.The cat is now out if the bag. Not very impressed with how this tragedy has been dealt with.Russia should hit back now (legitimate retaliation in the eyes of the world) with unbridled ferocity against ISIS.
That’s if its true.I’m not sure on that.I do think that could very well be what happened to the plane. But whether the French actually have the information is what I’m not sure about. It being said on French TV isn’t enough I think.I’d like to see official statements come out first before totally buying that report.
Yemen invasion of Saudi Arabia begins…
Yemeni Army, Committees Control Saudi City of Raboa’a Completely
The Yemeni army and popular committees managed on Friday to control the bordering Saudi city of al-Raboa’a in Assir area after launching a sudden attack.
The Yemeni fighters bombarded all the Saudi military sites in the area in order to prevent them from interfering in the battle.
The Yemeni military media posted a video which shows how the Saudi soldiers were escaping the battle when it started.

Yemeni Army, Committees Destroy Another Saudi Warship
The Yemeni army and the popular committees destroyed on Sunday a Saudi warship, the third vessel sinking in Yemen’s offshore waters in one month.
The Saudi warship was targeted by a rocket as it was in the waters close to the southwestern province of Taiz, Yemeni media quoted field sources as saying.
The warship had regularly been shelling Yemeni coastal villages, with rockets.

Kim ho hun be po… is goona nuke a turkey? hmm who wudathought… now do the hookey pokey kim.. ya baby!!!!
Regarding all the above, Syrian Military and Strategic Expert Colonel Elias Ibrahim saw the Russian intervention in Syria and the missile launching operation from the Caspian has implicated so many messages and in all directions, some of which are:
– Messages to Syria’s allies in Asia: Mr. Ibrahim noted that “the Russian intervention delivered a message to Russia’s and Syria’s allies in Asia, which made North Korea announce its readiness to attack Turkey with nuclear weapon to support its allies in Russia and Syria and prevent breaking this friendly international power. This stance assures the solidarity in between those countries, those honest and honorable powers against the American Zionist Takfiri axis.”
– Messages to Saudi Arabia and Qatar: The same Russian message addressed to Turkey must have been delivered to Saudi Arabia and Qatar. However, due to their political unawareness and misunderstanding, as well as low mental understanding to the nature of the battle, they would not keep in line with the Russian
– Messages to the Israeli enemy: Colonel Ibrahim noted that “Israel received the Russian message that Syria is a red line and it is no more acceptable to mess up with the Syrian security by targeting the Syrian lands or the Syrian airspace by Israeli planes in favor of the terrorist groups. Russia told Israel that the Russian aircraft’s official airspace is all the Syrian airspace reaching the southern region that is forbidden for the Israeli aircraft, the same case for the Turkish aircraft in the north.”
Mr. Ibrahim considered that “Turkey understood the Russian message. Even if it appeared to oppose the Russian intervention, it still has interests with Russia and it will not sacrifice them for the sake of the terrorists or even for the sake of Saudi Arabia or Qatar. Turkey will keep in line with the Russians to gain their consent since Russia is a great country which would not be treated as an enemy in a way that threatens the Turkish national security… Turkey will be diplomatic and rational with the Russian stance.”
Mr. Ibrahim noted that Russia made clear for the entire world that there is an American and western deception, and that the “Anti-ISIL Coalition” is just an American deceit and a western lie that aim at supporting terrorism and aiding “ISIL and its branches” to extend and spread rather than fighting terrorism.

Iraqi Army Killed Over 900 ISIS Terrorists During the Liberation of Baiji
The Iraqi Army and their popular committees – led by Hashd Al-Sha’abi – dealt a decisive blow to the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS) last month when they captured Baiji after a long battle for control of this strategic city that is situated north of Tikrit in the Salehiddeen Governorate.
Following Baiji’s capture, the Iraqi Armed Forces and the popular committees launched an offensive to liberate the Makhoul Mountains (Jabal Makhoul); this assault proved successful as they were able to eliminate the threat posed by the terrorist group and their allies along this front in central Iraq.
Earlier this week, the Iraqi Minister of Defense revealed the Iraqi Army and the popular committees that assisted them during the liberation of Baiji had killed over 920 enemy combatants and captured several other terrorists after completing this three month long military operation.
On Friday morning, the Iraqi Armed Forces imposed full control of Albu Mar’e in the Al-Ramadi countryside after a series of intense firefights with the terrorist group.

Surprise, surprise —
Disinformation super jockey Mike Whitney is calling for a dramatic military escalation by Russia.
TURKEY GOES TO WAR
by Mike Whitney
November 6, 2015
http://www.counterpunch.org/2015/11/06/turkey-goes-to-war/
Concerning Turkish Foreign Minister’s Sinirlioğlu’s announcement today of imminent Turkish military moves against ISIL, Whitney recalls ancient history, invokes the London Telegraph (See here) and forgets the recent aggressive moves by Turkey to shut down ISIL following a deadly terror attack that killed over 100 peace activists during the recent election campaign.
Here is an excerpt:
“Naturally, none of this has anything to do with fighting terrorism, in fact, Erdogan has been the terrorists best friend allowing them to pass back and forth across the border unimpeded. What Sinirlioğlu’s announcement means is that Turkey is finally ready to seize the 60 mile stretch of land referred to in the Telegraph article. As of this writing, we don’t know what the White House’s reaction to this Sinirlioğlu’s announcement will be, but we do know that Obama is scheduled to meet with Erdogan in Ankara in less than two weeks. By then, the administration will have decided whether they will stick with the Kurds or cast their lot with Erdogan. Either way, there’s going to be an attempt to create a safe zone from which Washington can continue to prosecute its war on Assad. That much is certain.
These developments suggest that Putin will have to move fast if he wants to seal the border and derail Erdogan’s plan. The Russian president might have to deploy Russian Special Forces and armored divisions northward to discourage US-Turkey adventurism and to prevent the war from turning into a quagmire.
This is one situation where preemption could really pay off bigtime.”
Which puts Whitney in lock-step with Saudi Arabia, the UK, ISIS, SS John Kerry and all the other state and non state actors pushing furiously for a catastrophic Overreaction on the part of Russia —
Wise saying: Beware the AngloZionist liberal who calls for aggressive military action.
Yes Sir — Whitney wants dramatic escalatory action from Russia just as terrorist losses begin to look epic in the face of an accelerating Syria-Hezbollah-Russia-Iran onslaught (See here) and just as their NATO/Israeli special forces mentors appear to be doing their best to get the hell out of Dodge (See here).
Supporters of Overreaction have gone so far as to knock a fully loaded passenger jet out of the sky killing 224 innocent people and are now said to have threatened to shoot down a Russian relief plane trying to leave Yemen.
Russia is almost silent but Whitney is hugely upset, banging the table demanding SOMEONE stop Erdogan, threatening quagmire while Russian government owned RT has an entirely different take on the planned — and thoroughly agreed upon Turkish occupation of a section of northern Syria —
Turkey to ‘act militarily’ against ISIS in coming days – foreign minister
November 6, 2015
https://www.rt.com/news/320868-turkey-military-operation-isis/
Could it be that Whitney doesn’t know about the close working relationship between Russia and Turkey?
This from Republic of Turkey Ministry of Foreign Affairs website. Note the date and the friendly nature of the talks as described by the Turks themselves.
Sep 15, 2015
Foreign Minister Feridun Sinirlioğlu is in Sochi
Foreign Minister Feridun Sinirlioğlu paid a working visit to the Russian Federation on 15-16 September 2015.
Speaking before the meeting, Foreign Minister Sinirlioğlu stated that the two countries enjoyed a strong dialogue at all levels and that Turkey attached great importance to its relations with Russian Federation. Foreign Minister Sinirlioğlu added that both countries had the political will to further bilateral relations in every field.
Stressing that international and regional issues such as Syria and fight against terrorism topped the agenda of both countries, Foreign Minister Sinirlioğlu said that both Turkey and the Russian Federation contributed to the stability in the entire region and beyond and had concerns due to the developments that could disturb regional stability. Foreign Minister Sinirlioğlu added that two countries would be benefited from advancing cooperation on issues of stability, peace and security, increasing empathy between them and establishing a road map to achieve common targets.
Russia is intimitely aware of Turkish plans because they have been working closely with Erdogan since long before it became apparent to Western leaders he wasn’t going anywhere. Once again, the Russians were three steps ahead of their foes in the game of diplomacy.
This while Al-CIA-da was busy murdering peaceful protestors in Turkey, attempting to destabilze the AKP regime, knowing full well that Erdogan would be blamed for anything and everything that happened to his opponents. Moments after the blast shocked bystanders immediately began shouting Erdogan — Murderer! — something which was entirely predictable.
The realization that Russia and Turkey had secured a semi-secret alliance also helps explain Dame Merkel’s need to run to Sultan Erdogan, with cash in hand and on bended knee, just days before the election held on Novemeber 1st. (See here)
It seems probable that Merkel was so badly outplayed by Putin that she saw no alternative but to humiliate herself and beg the Turks not to side with Russia.
Whitney’s new theory is the same as his old theory. (See here) Neither does he account for Russia and Turkey’s overwhelming common interests with respect to terrorism nor does he mention the mutually agreed contents of the Syria declaration.
Please note points #1 & #8 below. Both sides have agreed to the following:
Final declaration on the results of the Syria Talks in Vienna as agreed by participants
Point 1. Syria’s unity, independence, territorial integrity, and secular character are fundamental.
Point 8. This political process will be Syrian led and Syrian owned, and the Syrian people will decide the future of Syria.
/joint-statement-final-declaration-on-the-results-of-the-syria-talks-in-vienna-as-agreed-by-participants/
So it seems whatever the long term fate of Assad, Russia and Turkey have agreed to act in concert to quash the terrorists once and for all. Should Turkey decide to attack the Russian backed Syrian Arab Army, as Whitney suggests is likely to happen, it would mark the begining of a full blown Third World War.
Erdogan is as wily as any of the main players. Even as he makes deals with Putin he has protected himself long term by allowing NATO full access to Incirlik. He has kept his options open but whatever you may think of him, he isn’t looking to instigate a direct confrontation with a nuclear superpower. No matter what, Erdogan isn’t stupid enough to risk World War 3, gaining nothing and benefiting only his most committed enemies.
The Empire is pursuing a two-track strategy for negotiations. Weakly they seek resolution while simultaneously they push Russia hard hoping to generate an Overreaction which might slow anti-terrorist coalition momentum and weaken Russia’s overall negotiating position.
Much depends on the speed of the Syrian advance. Turkey wants to ensure Kurdish territory along their Syrian border is not made contiguous and to return or remove refugees to Syria or Europe. They can do this without breaking the committments made in Vienna although it may be hard to remove them from Syrian terrirtory as negotiations proceed. All parties except Israel, their Zio-Atlanticist minions, NATO and CIA run Saudi Arabia have a long term interest in killing as many terrorists as possible.
Make up your own mind about Whitney. He may have a role at another, higher level, where he is knowingly or unknowingly tasked with manipulating his credulous audience and assisting the Anglo peace and sanity faction, as he understands it to be necessary. Personally, I have always mistrusted him. Like other well known figures in the so-called alternative media, I have frequently noticed, he always seems to pop up during moments of crisis offering VERY BAD advice.
Salam C I eh?,
Well said. Mike Whitney is one of the Wolf in sheep clothing…
Best regards,
Mohamed.
It was indeed almost certainly a bomb, but the author is jumping to conclusions if he points at ISIS as the only possible culprit. From a Qui Bono point of view the list of candidates is long:
ISIS
CIA
MI6
Mossad
SBU
I would put my money on cooperation between ISIS & CIA/MI6, just speculating though.
Especially the British were very keen on pushing “it was a bomb” theory (probably correct).
The whole idea was to make Russia pay for its (very effective) actions in Syria.
One (probably unintended) consequence is that European tourism to Islamic countries will take a hard hit, potentially terminal, increasing poverty in Islamic lands, which plays into the hands of the Islamists in Egypt and elsewhere.
Kind regards,
Dutch
Saudi Arabia will pay heavily for this crime
If this is proven to be true, can we really discount the missile theory?

MISSILE attack on UK passenger jet over Sharm leaves passengers SECONDS from disaster
“[..] The Thomson flight from London Stansted was carrying 189 passengers when it came “within 1,000ft” of the rocket, an insider said.
It narrowly dodged disaster when the pilot spotted the missile racing through the air”
“[..] Holidaymakers were not told they were just seconds from a catastrophe after the jet was safely landed on August 23.
The five cabin crew members are thought to have only found out after landing when they were told it was part of an “Egyptian military exercise”

–
I do find the article suspicious since they offer no citations, and claims from an anonymous ‘insider’ are always to be taken with a bucket of salt. Is it even possible to engage an airliner in hasty evasive maneuvers at such short notice/distance? I don’t know, I’m not a weapons nor aircraft expert, but that alone sounds fairly incredible to me.
In any case, if a rocket (or missile) was involved in the Russian plane disaster, my money is on nearby Israhell, rather than Egypt (as this article seems to imply), “revels,” or Isis for that matter.
Then there’s this other headline on same news paper:
–

Why are the brits so eager to jump to conclusions and point fingers? Cameron and Obama were very keen to point to a bomb on board even before the black boxes were analyzed.
Anyway, at least part of the answer might rest in this paragraph from the linked article: “The jihadis were heard talking in Birmingham and London accents by spies at GCHQ in Cheltenham”
I forget when now, but I think the brits have a bill coming-up aimed at expanding their surveillance apparatus. This story – if real, or made-up, and if they manage to sell it to the public, it could justify the extensions of powers to GCHQ to spy on the British population, not to mention it’s also an attempt to whitewash the damage caused by Snowden’s Revelations to the NSA, Five Eyes, and GCHQ.
-TL2Q
Really a missile racing towards the air plane and the pilot has xray eyes to see through his ass? Because that is the only way to see a missile fired from the ground and behind the plane. How do they expect the missile to home in on the air craft? I mean this is going to over board that they take the people are worse than sheepie as one of the first things we see in movies is how the good guys, mostly white will get behind the bad ruskies, iraqinians etc and it is so hard but since he went to top gun he is so goud.. It is also why fighters have a canopy ABOVE the air frame to see behind them.. But bombers generally don’t. In the dozens of movies I seen for shooting down a plane I never once seen one that was shot from the front. That requires very sophisticated tracking and control systems of at least 2 radars to triangulate the object. This is what I hate about MSM.. They take it that you are an imbecile and will believe any nonsense. We have had entire aircraft get right next to the pilots window without the pilots noticing it. They would notice a 5 foot long missile flying at them at mach 2-4?
@ mmiriww:
“Really a missile racing towards the air plane and the pilot has xray eyes to see through his ass?”
^ LoL! Thanks for that!
For a split second I thought it was just me being too ‘ignorant’ or something… As I said earlier; the whole thing sounded pretty far-fetched to me, way too Sci-Fi, if you know what I mean…
Never the less; that’s what they’re throwing out there… to see what sticks. Presumably?!

Putin has driven himself to very bad situation. This will open lots of chances for Washington and London.
How so? I think that Putin has had no choice in any of the moves he’s made.He has always wanted to be friends with the West.A point that the West does its best to not mention or admit. Every anti-West position he has taken was forced on him by the West’s actions. He didn’t meddle in Ukraine and overthrow the legal government there (my complaint is his inaction there ,not over action). He didn’t push regime change in Syria. And start a war killing thousands to get it.He didn’t start a sanctions war against the West. They attacked Russia with sanctions. And Russia just responded in self-protection.
I consider your analysis to be very good . what other articles do you commend ?
