Here are a few updates in point form, but so far it is clear that the effort to destabilize Kazakhstan is on its way to failure. Now we wait for the (not an ultimatum) meeting between the US and Russia on providing Russia with legally binding security guarantees. Next week’s meetings are as follows:
- US and Russia: Geneva on January 9–10.
- Russia-NATO Council: Brussels on January 12.
- OSCE: on January 13.
– It is noticeable that the destabilization effort in Kazakhastan is bookmarked on both sides, first by the Joint Statement of the Leaders of the Five Nuclear-Weapons States on Preventing Nuclear War and Avoiding Arms Races and then on the other side, the agreements to the meetings upcoming next week. It is too early to factually understand the reasons.
– President Putin had a telephone conversation with President Tokayev of Kazakhstan only a few hours ago. Tokayev extensively informed Putin about the developments in the country and noted that the situation is stabilizing. He thanked the partners from the Collective Security Treaty Organisation (CSTO) and especially the Russian Federation for the assistance being rendered and they agreed on a video discussion between the leaders of CSTO member states.
– It has been said that Tokayev will seek admission to the Union State mechanism.
– The coordination and joint action by the CSTO are quite remarkable, seeing that it is the first time that they are acting together in carrying out their joint mandate.
– President Tokayev was immediately given a new title by western media. He is now a Russian-backed dictator.
– Three hours ago, gunfire was still heard in Almaty.
🎥 Taken now: Gunfire continues in Almaty pic.twitter.com/1XyXMdE7jj
— ASB News / MILITARY〽️ (@ASBMilitary) January 8, 2022
– The former KNB head Masimov was detained for treason. There are reports about arrests of other high-ranking officials.
– Reports say that more than 4,000 arrests were made. It is difficult to find supportive fact for this number.
– Out of the Ukraine we have a new movie. The video of the alleged “Kazakhstan Liberation Front”, in which they call to fight the CSTO troops, was filmed in the Ukraine by a group of nationalists let by Dmitry Korchinsky. This was reported to “Strana UA” by a source in nationalist circles. Take a look at the ‘statement’ from the Ukrainian leader of the Ultra-Nationalist group Bratstvo on Kazakhstan — says Ukrainian militias will penetrate Kazakhstan and assist the armed gangs that have been wreaking havoc on the population for the last few days:
– It is now widely reported that Nazarbayev’s spokesman said he has not yet left Kazakhstan. He was the first independent leader of Kazakhstan and is reported to still be very influential. It was also stated that Nazarbayev urged everyone to “rally around Tokayev”. We should wait for confirmation by the man himself, and not statements made on his behalf as he has not been seen for many days.
– It was widely reported that in Almaty a citizen of Israel was killed, as well as a young child.
– Internet and communication lines are still disrupted.
– A roadblock system is fast being implemented to gain control.
– Peacekeepers report that basically all government buildings are in their hands and safeguarded. There are reports of one hospital still in the hands of opposition forces.
– As fast as possible loyal police and troops are being dispatched to the remaining problem areas.
– Slowly law and order are appearing. President Tokayev called Monday a day or mourning and burials have started.
– At this time, with suppression of the armed insurgents, the situation is not yet fully under control, but clearly the trend is toward quick and decisive control actions by Tokayev, and supported by the peacekeepers from the CSTO alliance.
I leave you with a clip of a video of Blinken (only 1.11 minutes) which caused a collective belly laugh across the world and was harshly commented on by the Russian MFA. “Once Russians are in your house,” Blinken says: “It is sometimes very difficult to get them to leave.”
Maria Zakharova had a number of things to say, but the most important was this:
When Americans are in your house, it can be difficult to stay alive, not being robbed or raped.
For commentary about why these western leaders keep shooting themselves in the foot, please take a look at MoonofAlabama
Most long-time Saker Blog readers know to follow Andrei Martyanov, but for the newbies, here.
It is noticeable that China is supporting Tokayev on a daily basis, both in the media and via statements by the spokespeople. They are also stating that the Russian proposals in preparation for next week’s meetings are “in line with the basic norms of international relations, help to increase mutual trust between countries, reduce the risk of conflicts, and uphold global and regional strategic stability.”
And in this atmosphere of destabilization, and with lines drawn, we approach the critically important meetings for the world next week.
Kindly use as an open thread.
Russians always leave. The Americans on the other hand are still in Hawaii, Germany, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Syria, Turkey, Ukraine, Georgia, Serbia…
“President Tokayev was immediately given a new title by western media. He is now a Russian-backed dictator”.
Well then, I suppose congratulations are in order! “We most all hang together, or assuredly we shall hang separately”.
Form square! Rifles ready! Load Gatling!

The West was hoping that a Guaido type puppet would be placed in Kazakhstan, who would have the country join NATO in par with the Western strategy of encircling Russia. He would, of course, permit the plundering of the country’s natural resources by Western corporations. This Western coup d’etat ended as a flop, just like the one in Belarus. NATO, no doubt. must have been unpleasantly surprised by the speed and efficiency of the Russian response in Kazakhstan. Zelensky in Kiev better take this as a warning if he plans to start any military adventures.
… Japan, South Korea, Britain, Australia, Cuba, Iraq, Poland, the Baltics, Romania…
Actually, wouldn’t it be quicker to list those countries where they aren’t?
US Marines raising the American Flag over Guantanamo Bay in 1898 – till nowadays. Blinken is like they all are: a hypocrite! They are the ones you can never get rid of, they are like lousies!
They are also exploiting indigenous peoples and lands, their own people. It is not necessary to look further.
Russians do leave but from Reuters not too long ago…
“WASHINGTON, Jan 7 (Reuters) – The United States said on Friday it had approved the voluntary departure of non-emergency U.S. government employees and family members from the consulate general in the Kazakh city of Almaty, amid an ongoing state of emergency in the country.”
why the sudden departure? perhaps could be complicit to this criminal act and want to flee before the authorities catch them.
The United States may have approved their departure – but will the government of Kazakhstan? Perhaps not (for a while, anyway).
…and if they bring a woman named Ghislaine with them, hide the children.
Removed. This conversation is now closed. It is off-topic. Any further will go to trash. Mod.
I wish the US DOJ had called the CTSO for help during our last insurrection. Because THATs the way you deal with insurgents. IF you value your democracy, that is.
Ralph, all the people from the last US insurrection are long dead. Should you be referring to Jan 6, 2021, might I suggest a great historical read…A Tale of Two Cities…. that’s an insurrection, rolling heads and all.
Cheers M
You seems to be gifted to write bluuue tales.
The Jan 6, 2021 insurrection took place underneath Stormfront banners. Thats a fact, not an opinion. There are no grey areas. You are either against Nazis and what they stand for, or not. Ill choose whitch ever color necessary even blue.
@Ralph Conner,
You have every right under the US Constitution to be in a panic, irrational and overblown with your concern.
A perfect recruit for the tyrannical assholes in DC who contrived Jan. 6th, refused 10,000 National Guard for protection in advance by 48 hours, refused the police chief’s six requests for National Guard that day while the FBI-led riot was fomented.
Your selective sensitivity is precious.
An insurrection with no weapons, no explosives–the first in human history.
Quite unique that Jan. 6th.
I hope your tremors soon cease. Be well.
@Larchmonter445
The 1/6 ‘insurrection’ was unique. People walked into the capital largely unopposed. Key instigators of the event like Ray Epps have never been arrested. It sure looks like a staged event. If it was an insurrection then what was the plan?
This is going off-topic. Please shut it down. Mod.
Now you’re just being a hypocrite, your country, all colours, openly arm, support and train Nazis in the Ukraine…. wouldn’t even sign on to the UN declaration denouncing Nazi glorification…and you seen a Nazi flag where?
Cheers
All Im saying is that letting a rabble of racist, slack jaw Nazi wannabes overthrow the US Gov is not the solution. Supporting such an insurrection will indeed ascerbate and accelerate the de evolution of society in our country. This probably is the objective of many foriegners, based on the hate they express for our country. My point is that very many of us here, the majority in look at the insurrection as a bigger threat than the deep state. And we feel that the tried and proven remedies used against organized racists and Nazis in the past should be used in this case as well. Soonest. PS> Its generaly held as a truth in debate that when one side devolves into personal assault and invective incivility its because they have no intelligent recourse to a valid argument and or there is a lack of ability to articulate, Sean. Tog Bog
@Ralph Conner
What personal assault was use? What are you referring too? Isn’t that what happened? Who hates who? What “our”? Those who value history and truly want their country to evolve for the better must recognize it’s nature and what it was intended for. The US from the onset was a Zio project. Created for turmoil and war. People flee to where the money is and global conflicts cemented by bankers were with the end to concentrate the worlds wealth within their newly created bastón. I concur, nazism is a disease, unfortunately, when a society has no real culture to rally behind, and plenty of ill guided anger all that is left is further ideologues that thrive in tension.
Jan 6 was a brilliant play by Pelosi and McConnel to sideline Trump and lock up the 1,000 American local leaders most likely to do something to resist new Bolshevik takeover. Anybody who calls it an “insurrection” is either an idiot or working for Pelosi/CIA.
If there are Jihadis involved then there is no doubt that this is MI6.
This man is trying to do something about it
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nazir_Ahmed,_Baron_Ahmed
At the moment he is being crucified for his efforts, see for example
https://www.rt.com/news/545326-nazir-ahmed-sexual-assault/
Why him? Because…
“In 2014 he wrote that the British Muslims in the Rotherham child sexual exploitation scandal and those fighting for IS have a common factor that they regularly went to their local mosque.”
My analysis as to why this is a crucifixion is at Moon of Alabama
https://www.moonofalabama.org/2022/01/slow-news-day.html?cid=6a00d8341c640e53ef02942f92bc4e200c#comment-6a00d8341c640e53ef02942f92bc4e200c
The key to a happy plantation is the provision of gainful employment. Some large infrastructure projects (helloooo, China ), the removal of Chevron from their Energy Sector and a purge of the Oligarchs in on the US/UK inspired coup-d’etat.
Be seeing you!
I found Craig Murray’s interpretation of what has been going on in “Kazakhstan” to be quite interesting — in particular, what he has to say about the post-Soviet collapse period leading right up to the raising of fuel prices and what he thinks is and is not going on today.
What Kazakhstan Isn’t
https://www.craigmurray.org.uk/archives/2022/01/what-kazakhstan-isnt/
Zone B seems well prepared to falls flag attacks and color revolutions, after the reed line drawn by Putin.
Kazakhstan in corporation with the forces of CSTO will quickly regain order in the whole country.
However then there will be charges for treason committed by government insiders, for flaming a crisis by liberalizing (doubling) the prices of Energy.
https://www.rt.com/russia/545442-kazakhstan-security-chief-arrested-treason/
As Amarynth points out, we may even see evidence that foreign agents (Ukraine?) were present and hijacked the initial protests, and turned the demonstrations into direct action of war.
The attempted overthrow of the Government has driven Kazakhstan closer to Russia and sent western Agent on the first flight home: https://www.usnews.com/news/world/articles/2022-01-07/u-s-approves-voluntary-departure-of-some-consulate-staff-from-kazakhstan
I wonder if Banker and NGO agents (Soros) are also leaving Kazakhstan.
Maybe even the honeymoon between Israel and Kazakhstan is over by now.
The attempted coup by foreign Agent in Kazakhstan will most surely be a hot potato during the coming security meeting between Russia the US, NATO and the OSCE.
“However then there will be charges for treason committed by government insiders, for flaming a crisis by liberalizing (doubling) the prices of Energy”.
Reasonable.
When will we be able to bring such charges against government officials in Western Europe?
@ Tom Welsh
Yes quite reasonable.
Once we enforced laws against treason in our part of the world.
One sunny day we will enforce them again.
That’s the $64,000 question which is now worth $trillions.
Exactly !
Millions have been on the streets in America, Britain and Europe protesting against their Nation and themselves being plundered, having their democracies hijacked by Fascism, being surveilled and sent into locked down. And nothing has changed.
In Denmark, during WWII we were under Fascist occupation by the NAZIs, while our “Danish” Government collaborated with the NAZIs, against the will of the people.
The Danes committed sabotage against the NAZIs and their collaborators, but one thing that really made the NAZIs and the collaborating Danish Government back down, was when all Danish workers left their jobs one the 26-06-1944 at 12 oclock, without saying a word.
That worked. After 5 days the NAZIs gave in.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8OJUwN8saUY
It time to repeat resistance once more in history, but this time all over the western world.
Unfortunately, the workers of the western world are not united. The question should be: how much worse does their situation need to deteriorate so they can finally unite into a historic block and make a diference in the world?
Putin has learned his lesson rom the 2014 Ukrainian maiden and is not allowing another color revolution to happen on Russia’s doorstep. Quick, decisive action, putting out the fire before it does any more damage. May God bless us all.
Amen! Happy Nativity, Saker!
Blankin most know history. Amerika is still Japan & EU & 800+ nations
Thanks for the report
Well, it sure looks like Vladimir Putin has sent a very strong message to stinking Blinken about what will happen if Blinken crosses the Russian Redline in Ukraine…actually it’s a very graphic message.
The shitstain Biden Administration is literally aiding and abetting Isis in Kazakhstan….So why did the US Military invade the Middle East?…..A 31 year occupation at a price tag of 11-14 trillion dollar occupation.
What-Who is the Special Interest that drives US Foreign Policy? Hint:The late Stephen Solarz…..
Hint: where did those $11-14 trillion eventually wind up?
Follow the money.
Anyone can see that the total collapse of the USA is unstoppable. Karma is the most powerful force in the Universe, a cosmic balance from which no one can escape. It’s time to pay the consequences of your actions. One after another.
Are Kazakhstan’s troubles the collective West’s reply to Russia’s ultimatum?
What of Antifa actually acted like true leftist and burnt down the New York Federal Reserve? Or Proud Boys acting like real populists and doing the same? Targets and to some extent even the Capitol of the Union State of Americastan, Israel, Perfidious Albion, and Banderstan are off limits. What if they chose their targets much better than doing stupid things like choosing Targets????
@William Haught,
Antifa and the infiltrated by FBI Proud Boys don’t burn down their paymaster’s buildings. They do as told and led to do.
Yep
We agree that they are obvious fake controlled oppositions to make even real populism and progressivism even more toxic than FIRE-dominated corporatism through guilt by association. Unfortunately banging your head against a wall is more productive than trying to tell the average “American Idiot,” to peruse a Green Day song title that.
How to tell if anti-goverment loumouthed groups are payed shills?
Easy. You saw them on MSM.
Real opposition is never shown, not even to be trashed. Just ignored, demonetized, deplatformed, ghosted, jailed or suicided.
think I saw on the www Russia sending another 20 planes of stuff today…….at first we saw “troubles” in towns throughout Kazakhstan….but now mostly in the two main centres is all we see on media…so I wonder if the remainder has been dealt with…how military and police are organised and run in Kazakhstan. Awaiting Pepe Escobar article on Monday he said presumably detailing further the external influences such as USA Turkey “supporting their brothers in K”. Wonder which countries the arrested foreign nationals belong to….any contribution by Kyrgizthan Uzbekistan Turkmenistan….there are some references on twitter to Kazaks in numbers who had fought for Isis and returned “home” with their agendas….also from these countries?
The outlying areas have been cut off from the ‘net’ most marauding mellinials are home crying in Mom’s basement, flailing thumbs!
The hard core instigators will hole up in major towns, hopefully not Allepo type battles. Removing them will depend more on how the locals react and if they give them up…. especially the head chopper type.
Cheers M
Musing….wouldn’t surprise me if Chechens were some of the first in on this, they have by far the most experience with such matters.
I wonder about fighters from Afghanistan, with all their newly-acquired armaments.
JJ
This Twitter has lots of clips of CSTO forces assembling, departing, arriving in Kazakhstan.
The impression (to me) is of trained troops moving as well trained would be expected _ moving efficiently quickly, but hurriedly, knowing how to load and unload.
I am sure military across the globe are watching this.
Some pure conjecture on my part…. The CSTO probably now does not need to dispatch everything that’s on its way now.
But this is an excellent “go live” engagement. And it is serving as an excellent showcase of the capacity, capability, coordination of Russia and its allies.
https://twitter.com/ASBMilitary
The “Union State mechanism” is an unknown for me. Of course the idea, generally, is there, but the actual institutional mechanism is a mystery. I very much doubt that the “zone A” proponents of color revolution in Kstan expected this outcome – a masterly Judo move!
Some may now expect more former Soviet Republics to, ah, re-assess their future.
Wikipedia has a fair writeup about the mechanisms of the Union State. It has been taken up on various occasions and dropped, basically on the basis of what was happening in the moment, and much dilly dallying of the Stans as to where they wanted to integrate. Now with multi-polarity becoming a real thing, we see the little guys wanting to again ‘pick their pole’ to rally around. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Union_State
This last year Russia and Belarus signed a raft of documents to breathe life into this old mechanism and it is now a fact of life between those two countries. Kazakhstan was an early proponent.
Yes, thank you kindly.
In related matter, I see twitter claim that London is “freezing” Kstan’s gold. Evidently @ Telegraph Uk… if true, it follows the Venezuela routine.
Oh, for Heaven’s sake please tell me Kazakhstan didn’t store its gold in London! There must be limits to stupidity.
Nazarbayev was going to replace law in Kazakhstan. He was planning sacking all the existing judges and importing hundreds of judges from the UK. Their good is long time over in the UK. It that is going to change soon. What the Brits looted is looted. No more.
If this is true of what you write, how is it that Russia has not reacted before? The water reached the ears in Western Europe, the Lisbon-Vladivostok plan failed, so we turned to what “remains”?
It means Kazahstan will be absorbed into the Russian military-inteligence sphere, just like Belarus.
Blinken is a hard core racist. Notice he did not say “Putin regime forces” but Russians. The Saker, Pussyriot and Orthodox monks all act alike, I suppose. Odd how the “anti-racist” liberals think in racialist terms
This is what can be called the “last racism” or the “last taboo”.
“He is now a Russian-backed dictator.”
Ahhh, but we have the freedom to choose between an Orange Clown that is demented and a candidate running from his basement hiding from Covert-1984 with dementia which is way better.
I heard some blabbering on the tell-a-lie-to-your-vision about free Covert tests (had not had any morning coffee yet). What Stalinist is bankrolling that? Could it be Bill Gates who had such a bad year (must have had a pet gerbil and it must have died, probably from Covert) is parting with 0.1% or 173 million. He must be a Saint who will be sitting to the right of Yahshua if so.
Whatever….
Thank you Amarynth for this update. I agree with you on the links you make with other blogs (I would add Patrick Armstrong’s blog https://patrickarmstrong.ca/ to that list as well as Andrew Mercouris’s almost daily videos on YouTube). My daily readings of Martyanov, Bernhard, The Saker, Armstrong and Mercouris provide superb insights, facts and commentary on what is going on in the world. The internet is, indeed, a wonderful resource.
I well remember, many years ago when first starting to think about politics, in my mid-twenties how I was mystified by one expression: ‘the state’. This was in a country, the UK, where people talk about ‘the government’. Then, the notion of the state was like something from metaphysics: what is it? Can you touch it? Feel it? It was, to me then, a bit like ‘magnetism’: something we are all familiar with in electronics and physics yet we don’t see those magnetic lines of force we just take it on trust that it is so. ‘The government’ is something I can easily understand: it is, in the UK, the group of ministers selected from the party with the largest number of votes in a general election – prime minister, foreign secretary, defence secretary and so on. Yet, clearly, these personalities and figures are just one part of the British State with the rest of it (including intelligence agencies, the police, judiciary and law courts, armed forces, the bureaucracy of the slyly-named Civil Service, the NGOs, the elite universities) forming the core.
The relevance to this for the situation in Kazakhstan and Amarynth’s posting here, is how I am now, thanks to this self-education process of internet readings (including those important contributions from the comments part of a posting) to fully round-out my understanding of what is going on from people who have exactly that knowledge and appreciation of how states work and function – in this particular case the hegemon state of the USA with its vassals, the resistance states, pre-eminently Russia, China and Iran, and the pawn states such as Yemen, Iraq, Libya, Afghanistan and Kazakhstan who must deal with the aftermath of the hegemon’s ‘attentions’. My fulsome thanks for all those named and all those unnamed commenters.
@So Much to Learn, indeed. The first thing a Britisher has to learn is that “the government” is a facade (Fr. “face”). The real power of “the state” is in The City of London. A century ago this truth was spelt out extensively in books by Hilaire Belloc, and memorably by a filthy rich arms dealer in a play by Bernard Shaw:
“The government of your country? I am the government of your country, not that foolish gabble shop in Parliament.” — Major Barbara.
Our former unfaithful brothers, the Russians, have been compelled to frantically keep jumping from a place to a place just to feel the semblance of safety. But that which has been squandered in a short order will never again be put together. It applies equally to us and to them. It will however, take many years, maybe a whole century of uneasiness, struggle, wasted resources and poverty in order to slow the processes down and, possibly, just to keep the status quo. The burning, unsettled fires are all around Russia. An yet the “partners” won’t allow one day of respite to the poor nation. Not one day despite “we are all in the same boat now” (Yeltsin, 1992), when the “brothers” came down to the Balkans “to partner with the partners”, despite their own tragedy and despite the plight of Russian people, to pretend to be a big and important power and to arm our enemies, destroy our country and our (Serbian) people. Shame on the ungrateful “partners” for this was supposed to be the time of collecting the fruits for our former Russian brothers. But as they say: what you sow is what you will reap. After the Baltics, Belarus, Ukraine, Georgia, Armenia, Syria and other unfinished businesses, I wonder what’s next. Unlike most people here I am NOT an optimist.
https://www.zerohedge.com/geopolitical/uk-preparing-high-impact-sanctions-russia-over-ukraine
You are new to this site. You are off-topic. Please stick to what this thread is about – ongoing issues in Kazakhstan. We have the cafe for off-topic discussions. Any further will go to trash. Mod.
Take heart my Serbian friend, the New World Order is dead, killed suddenly in 2015 by a stake to the heart and all you see and fear now is the thrashing of a dead corpse. You should hold your head high for the men of little Serbia beat the mighty Anglo/Zionist/Bolshevik war machine and true is was basically by yourselves do not blame Rus for it again lay prostrate under the Bolshevik boot, they helped all they could. There will be no repeat of the 90’s, your Russian Orthodox brothers will not allow it. All these little fires are not only quenched but stomped out, as fast as they spring up. Let the empire continue, it is all they have left. And sanctions from hell by a little island of insignificance, President Putin is probably still on the floor laughing.
@durlin…………the New World Order is dead……Seriously :)), on what basis do you claim that? Can you explain to us in Saker’s Tavern. Thank you
@Djole
Man, you amaze me! This “tavern” needs more devil’s advocates. We need you! Please, do something about your Stockholm syndrome before it eats you alive. That is, before circus arrives in your neighbourhood.
When? Well…
…six months from Kabul chaotic departure to Kazakhstan messy checking out. Distance: roughly 2000km. You do the math.
Stockholm Syndrome may be developed in people who love the cult of personality and are waiting for others to solve things for them year after year. Those who have accepted to be masochists. I am definitely not one of them, but I could list some :)). Anyway, I’m glad you can’t do without me.
First, most people are of Kazakh origin. A few questions come to mind. If they came from there like you wrote, how is it possible that Russia went to the border with the Tajik army and “did not see” what was coming? Or how is it possible that they passed through Uzbekistan? That, say, was not possible before Andropov. How is it possible that the “labs” are not closed on time, or how is it even open in addition to friendly handshakes at parades in Moscow every May 9? Or f.e, to allow such economic ties with Anglo-Americans, believing that this will not affect the government in Kazakhstan? In addition to the intentions of the Panthurcic Corridor towards Siberia? Furthermore, how is it possible that some russian leadership gives a stu…id explanation of the clan war on the Russian border (something similar to the American problem with Mexico), without being allowed by the russian service? Especially if it is known that the clans of the south of Kyrgyzstan and Tashkent/Fergana, are militant ones and in contact with “dudes” in Kazakhstan? Especially if the clan war has already been used by the West to infiltrate Kyrgyzstan? Weren’t the Anglo-American agents followed by the service and didn’t the service know what would happen? It is “high unlikely” that the Russian service relied on the security promises of the Kazakh service and the traitors in it? ff so, that means Russians released a circus that later used for own needs. BUT at what price? Could this have been resolved in another way? Earlier? Of course, but the failed oligarchic Lisbon Vladivostok vertical was awaited. That speaks of the ability of the Russian leadership, now army is covering up their mistakes (like always did).
Type of people who are prone to fell in love with their rapists are those who considered themselves above others. When got into situation of being humiliated and powerless, instead of accepting the reality they are just another (unlucky) human being, they asume torturer is even better than themselves.
After a lifetime of being misunderstood by long list of inferior relatives and friends, it is only natural to be seduced by seamingly omnipotent, arrogant captor.
As for your verbatim view of situation in and around Kazakhstan, your conclusions or, rather insinuations, are flawed. Here’s why. You start with hardwired assumptions as axioms and then weave facts around till you reach conclusions that are basicaly rephrased asumptions.
1. Russia bad!
2. Something happened
3. It happened because….Russia bad!
When you think like that, facts are unnecesery dressing.
In reality any number of reasons are involved. All very real problems of Russian policy that you addressed, can be safely oversimplified to one reason:
West lied.
But this is insignigicant now, as major players stopped believing.
When George H.W. Bush announced “a New World Order” in September 1990. His words were backed by 2.0 things. One, US was at the peak of its strength, with internet revolution unfolding. Two, Russia had Yeltsin-time incoming. And “point, zero” was China.
Does todays world looks like this? Or completely reversed?
Just one example: Opioid crisis in US is much worse than alcoholism ever was in Russia. (My personal feeling is that rampant alchoholism was main reason why Soviet Union crumbled – let Russian friends correct me if I’m wrong )
So, we have two global forces: eastern, ascending, and western declining, even faster In the same time. Result is predictable, inevitable, and…visible. Unfortunately, extremely painfull for those affected, whichever side they choose.
It is fascinating how some are unable to see such big, global change. That doesnt mean they are blind. It is well known effect of brainwashing.
Brave New World Order was a dream of late generation(s) that really didn’t wait for others to solve things for them.
A dream abandoned by spoiled children drenched in Sex&Drugs&R’n’R. Finnaly shattered by grandchildren obsessed with transgenderism, VR and autotune.
,
This is exactly what I am writing about :)). Russia is not bad, the leadership could be bad, and you are the one who connects Russia and the Russian people with the Russian leadership. Which is changeable. I do not believe that this what Russia has today is the best one. But rather one that can make a compromise between different power verticals. The fact is that this will not push Russia forward as much as it can with the potential it has. However, thanks for post.
It is my understanding UK is right now deep into their own troubles. I very much doubt they can “prepare” high impact sanctions. This seems a most laughable idea…
Russians were and always will be our brothers. Do not despair, for the time of reckoning is coming. Soon, the free people inside USA itself will unshackle their chains and tie the Beast down themselves. Follow the news from America closely.
The West is without leaders, no sane man will fight Russia under current conditions. New fires will not be allowed to last long, see what is happening in Kazahstan. Putin is not Yeltsin, nor will his successor ever be. On the contrary, he will be much worse for the West.
You act my friend as if Americans aren’t as guilty as their masters. Just as fascist and xenophobic as they are. Laughable. American libe a myth and deserve to pay for their crimes
Stirring up hatred against us ordinary Americans? Whom do you serve?
Sory, but what ordinary Americans? Are you paying taxes and holding power by elections and signature in America? You as citizens are full responsible for everything that happened to other nations by your leadership and the army, the deep state? I believe that there were even many good people in Nazi Germany or in Ustasha Croatia. BUT … those who did nothing. Should I write you parts of the Bible that list those people?
Thanks
@djole and @Truthsayer
You would have a point if USian foreign policy were democratic and if the citizens govern their nation. Because otherwise…
@joey-n
Why do you live there then? Can a man who has character, morals, honor, and abides by the law of God seek forgiveness for something in which he personally participates? Whether he wanted to or not.
Thank you for your reply
And so @Djole, you will condemn all 300+ million of us as responsible for the worlds ills? Are you going to punish us all with Karma, or with carpet bombing? Fat chance. By the way, we are a nation made up of many people from different origins, including Slavic Russian, Serbs, Kazakhs etc. You name it; that ethnic group is probably here en masse. So when you drop your bombs indiscriminately, be aware you will be killing people originating from all over the world who have positively no interest in world domination or Empire at all.
I would love to, but I can’t. I am aware of that. A good angel seems to be guarding my soul :)). As I am aware that this will not happen from the Russian side either. As a duty to the cities and states of the dead that live underground and that your “business as usuall” killed. As long as Russia is ruled by people appointed by the West. I do not believe in karma, but in God’s judgment, you will not deceive him. Nor do I think you will those who brought you from the place of the biggest creditor, to the place of the biggest debtor :)).
@a.s.k. There you can divulge the hubris the majority ascribe too “fat chance”… God, as history has proven, always brings despair to the mighty and foolish. Majority of Americans clap and cheer when the bombs drop. Hold conversations as if their victims lives were irrelevant. Have the majority of you not indulge a life style outside your means? That’s the fruit of empire no? No complain there. Keep the blood spilling and the dollars coming in while everyone turns the other way. Make sure to keep out victims down south and out, we don’t want them ruining our spoils. Just go to Unz, Ted Cruz or Greg Abott comments page, or even zero hedge, to find out the psyche of the majority. Where’s the protest for human rights, for your victims stuck down south? Where was the March against the overthrow of the Honduran government in 08 that led to the influx of migrants you see today? Nobody cares. Why, we can play the victim card? Consider the withdrawal from Afghanistan, both sides of the isle found it humiliating and demanded punishment for the Afghanis as if they hadn’t suffered enough. $8 out of $10 from drug trafficking stay in the US, but who cares, they’re killing us with their drugs not we’re killing them with our drug obsession is the mantra.
“Majority of Americans clap and cheer when the bombs drop.”
What a malevolent point of view. This is exactly the sort of “divide and conquer” Mr. Global and assorted deep states love. Do they pay well?
No personal attacks please. Mod.
Unfortunately (and we’d all like for this to happen) they won’t. The erosion of the elan vital, a slow rotting weakening of the country’s institutions and currency, entropy doing its work on the once closely aligned regions and states, likelihood of severe economic pain combined with the gradual loss of influence and geopolitical power… an almost total disconnect with the founding myth as the country’s raison raison d’etre and finally – constant worsening of racial and inter-group relations. Another factor is the rapid demographic change especially in the southern states which will soon bring up the question of the ownership of Tejas, Nevada and Mehico nuevo – oh and Californicada. Absence of unifying ideology or perspective is also there etc. etc.
While I would never dismiss the Americans’ ability to wriggle out of tight spots (e.g. 1929, 1968, 2008), this time it might really be different because the very idea of a “country” which is to be defended and respected has become vague, fragmented and largely irrelevant – except in the poor and bedraggled immigrants seeking a green card. Of course, this state of slow but observable decay is dangerous for other countries but is also unavoidable. It will take time but can flare up at any moment so Russia and China must be very vigilant.
Thanks
You do not sound like a Serbian. In case you are, please do proper research before coming out screaming such nonsense.
The Duran has several very good discussions on what is taking place in Kazakhstan, Alexander Mercouris goes in depth explaining the power struggle between Tokayev and Nazarbayev, the former pro Russian the latter pro west. Highly recommended for a better understanding of what was at stake geopolitically.

We hope Tokayev will not hesitate to eliminate the Anglo-American fifth column as well as strip their assets in Kazakshan. Importantly their should carefully destruct the bell of laboratories cooking a future bio-war against Russia in the country.
This would need to be carefully read. We see the issue at the end of the article where China mainly offers economic help. But actually, there is another message here. The forces involved have just increased by orders of magnitude. It is not only the CSTO. I believe this is the first time that the SCO is being offered as counter-terrorism support. We see the structures of the multi-polar world beginning to coalesce and act forcefully.
“China cares for the safety of its nationals in Kazakhstan now, and it is also necessary for Beijing to keep an eye on Kazakh situation to prevent spillover of the unrest to impact Xinjiang’s stability, Zhu said, noting that China is also able to provide counterterrorism support to Kazakhstan under the Shanghai Cooperation Organization framework.”
https://www.globaltimes.cn/page/202201/1245391.shtml
This is HUGE.
I just heard that China via SCO is now participating in CSTO since a meeting in the last Fall 2021.. and as we read and see in last day have openly supported CSTO moves in this coup attempt.
So SCO and CSTO interlinks being publicized. China and SCO are openly pushing CSTO as hard power to support and protect Eurasia.
This is massive development and game changer.
Oceania and its endless crimes are being walled off, a reverse iron wall
That is what I thought. I don’t know whether to say check or mate. Some serious people disagree – saying China will do peacekeeping but Russia will kick ass. True that as well!
—– Although China doesn’t need and has no intention to act like the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) to deploy peacekeeping forces there, China has the capability to offer economic and other support, said Zhu.
It probably helps that Tokayev speaks fluent Mandarin and served as a diplomat in China in the past.
@A.H.H.
Sources? Links?
You won’t like the source (and neither do I) but Luke Harding (Please note Harding is a Russophobe and very anti-Russian – to the point of hatred. Mod.) did live in Moscow for some years and may have made notes on this topic while there. More probably, since Craig Murray outed him some years ago as a conduit for MI6 propaganda, he has been briefed in London on Tokayev’s Curriculum Vitae.
https://www.theguardian.com/world/2022/jan/07/kassym-jomart-tokayev-veteran-kazakh-diplomat-faces-grave-crisis
Craig Murray in a recent blog (in my view wrongly) rules out the idea of a colour revolution, but he has evidently not read the Moon of Alabama on the Rand Corporation list of countries to be used to weaken Russia. Kazakhstan was the only one where no visible action had taken place and this now looks like a reply to the ‘non ultimatum’ security proposals from Russia.
In addition, I think that more attention should have been paid to the Far East Economic Forum chaired by Putin at a university near Vladivostok last September. While Xi was present via video call, Putin, Tokayev and the President of Mongolia were all there in person. The projects confirmed there were in my view an important stage in implementing the Belt & Road Initiative and indicated that Kazakhstan was no longer engaged in ‘multi-vector’ diplomacy but was fully behind BRI, and stood to gain a lot from the transit fees and a new nuclear reactor to ease Kazakhstan’s energy problems by providing sustained base-load electricity production. It is possible that Nazarayev and his supporters did not like this very overt turn to full commitment on the BRI by Tokayev..
Larch,
heard it on yesterday’s mercouris “Xi Jinping Calls Kazakh Pres Tokayev, Hints at US Interference, Backs Russia, Pledges Support” – he is careful and quoted extensively from following two articles as well as emphasized SCO obtained observer status in CSTO in recent Dushanbe SCO meeting.
In his video – I do not know why Mercouris is looked down on so much. He is useful “Cliff notes” for busy folks and rarely far off target..

I had not monitored or missed implications of this Fall 2021 SCO-CSTO bilateral meeting, hosted by Putin and attended by Putin. Was it in the notes? Or was it a verbal agreement? Certainly if not determined definitively then, current actions speak volumes.
So this new interlocking mechanism – SCO + CSTO in some combination and/or division of roles – which Lukashenko of Belarus wanted as well, appears to be in process of being rolled out..
https://eng.belta.by/politics/view/belarus-calls-on-sco-csto-to-sign-cooperation-agreement-145553-2021/
And IMO China appears ready to move with boots, not merely political/financial support! They are incensed – a direct attack on nation bordering Xinjiang and involving Uyger extremist shock troops of Empire. What better place to get blooded and call bluffs than right on their border? We live in interesting times
I think this support from China is one of the two most noteworthy aspects of this crisis. The second one is this:
“The coordination and joint action by the CSTO are quite remarkable, seeing that it is the first time that they are acting together in carrying out their joint mandate”
This shows Russia and its regional allies have been preparing for situations like this. This has also been a good practice for the involved troops. It sure is a strong deterrence to other attempts like that.
Locally (to Kazakhstan), one noteworthy point is this:
“The former KNB head Masimov was detained for treason. There are reports about arrests of other high-ranking officials”
It is important to purge the government from people who cooperated with the unrest. Hopefully, they will be successful on this. I hope they also try to address any legitimate concern from the general population.
Now, the expectation is on the talks starting this monday. There has been a barrage of tweets these last days from the US Department of State on this, most of them laughable, but that seems to show the US will try to start talking tough. We’ll see how this holds. This week promises to be interesting…
It is perhaps no coincidence that 1.4% of the population of Kazakhstan is ethnically Uighur, and it would be interesting to know where their loyalties and sympathies lie.
Estou curioso em saber sobre o laboratório biológico dos EUA em Almaty…

Grateful! You understood the spirit of the phrase and, concern. Few on the Network know of the existence of these laboratories.
I don’t think it is needed to be familiar with the texts of previous agreements to recognize the two proposals from Russia as quite special: brief, direct, with some provisions that make the reader wonder why this was not agreed upon long ago. In the proposal to NATO there is a clause that says the parties will not be “adversaries” anymore. Let’s say the two proposals can elicit disagreement like any proposal(s), but both are noble proposals for seeking a safer world free from a nuclear war danger. Any citizen of the world can appreciate them for that. Conceptually, they are not aggressive proposals! These are actually ambitious proposals but their (declared) ambition is mutual safety! That’s safety for the whole world. Anyone who signs it can claim victory! America can add some supplementary texts to them and say this was the goal and mission all along – always, even that NATO expansion achieved it (a freedom to believe what you want after the achievement).
If no agreements happen and Putin chooses any of the ‘proportionate’ responses he has mentioned, the 2024 election outcome becomes really influenced, in favor this time of the Republicans, ‘this time’ because the Russians must have wanted Biden to win after Trump made clear that he was going to start an arms race with Russia, with the same ‘winning’ logic he had ‘already’ (not literal quotes) applied with North Korea and Iran.

They didn’t move then.
It looks that they were tricked to move now…and they are being defeated decisively.
It never ends the political stupidity of the American administration, and it is really stupid not to see that it no longer has the power to do what it wants and when it wants. This coup d’etat, the same design from Ukraine, was eliminated by Russia in 1 hour, breaking the armed occupation of institutions, airfields, TV, etc. And now only Russia has strengthened its position in Central Asia. China strongly supports that and will help economic Kazakhstan, which will be more attached to Russia, China and Iran.
The Empire could have done the right thing by Russia when the USSR fell apart. Certainly it would have taken some discipline and restraint. Not blinking guys repeated lies, shifty eyes and endless ahs. That any country in the world would suddenly expect a fair deal with the Empire is at best naïve but mostly just a sign that the guys at the top got a good deal and sold out their constituency, yet again.
What makes this sin worse is they clearly explain what the right thing would look like, then do the opposite. Using Psycho-mercenaries to bring democracy is like using a knife instead of an engagement ring to propose to your sweetie. The rest of the world is coming around to this charade, while the targeted locals still seem in a bit of a fog. That the knife might bring the required result should leave Romeo with a cautious outlook, could this person be trusted when I fall asleep? So far so good.
Might the Kaz authorities let these rebellious folks play their hand so just this sort of an outcome results? The circle closes when we remember JFK’s injunction that making peaceful revolution impossible makes the violent kind inevitable.
That’s confusing for me. The death sentence seems like a kindness to me when appropriately applied, but if it takes violent action to bring needed change won’t that always be your default action when things get tough? What is so threatening about peace? Seems Putin has resolved my conflict. He will talk and talk and in the end, talk so more, but if there is no justice, he will ACT to end the violence. Reminded of the warthogs attack on Deir Azur and the mountain retreat that wound up a tomb. The Russians have no confusion between nice talk and proper results.
My problem, too much talk!
“Once Russians are in your house,” Blinken says: “It is sometimes very difficult to get them to leave.”
Russian soldiers have been in Paris, Switzerland and Berlin, it is a pity that they are not present there today.
Someone should ask him how that applies to Germany and the Warsaw Pact nations. And the ex-Soviet nations other than Russia.
Now the Americans…
hmmm…not noticing much in the way of ” thoughts ” from OSCE …..current chairman since Jan 1 is Poland ….except this
WARSAW/VIENNA, 5 JANUARY 2022 – I am closely following recent developments in Kazakhstan.
I strongly believe that violence is never an appropriate response for resolving such tensions. This is why I call for a peaceful return to order and respect for democratic processes, while rights and freedoms, including freedom of assembly and freedom of expression, must be protected.
De-escalation of the situation and engaging in dialogue by all sides are the most important instruments for providing stability for the country. This is of great importance for the whole Central Asian region.
The OSCE is ready to assist and support Kazakhstan in continuing political reforms with full respect of the OSCE commitments, including through the OSCE Programme Office in Nur-Sultan.
Oh our Maria Zakharova has many words about the OSCE.
#Opinion by Maria Zakharova:
How she hadn’t had them before? In addition to false reports about the tragedy in Donbas ?? But only when the Lisbon-Vladivostok transversal failed and “partner” submissions to European states? She knew what they were doing with Serbia in the 1990s. Isn’t that hypocritical? I don’t believe she’s incompetent.
I managed to listen to about half a minute of Blinken, then I felt my gorge rising.
Funny how he says that Kazakhstan should be able to deal on its own with “peaceful protestors” who have firefights with the Army and decapitate police officers.
Yet his party and government are still fainting about the “second Pearl Harbor” on January 6th, when no violence was used and no one was killed (apart from seven or eight civilians who were offering no threat of force).
Sitting in comfort and warmth VCO and I watched this deal unfold real time. We discussed Rossiya’s reaction and we both agreed that Mother would not put up with this extremely violent farce fomented by SehSha. I have no doubts that the commo channels between Shoigu, VVP and others of import advised what to do to those who would/should listen in Kazakhstan.
Rossiya provided the ability to Government of Kazakhstan to hold firm whilst Rossiya gathered the forces needed to put an end to this ‘maidan v2’ fomented in Rossiya’s back yard. Now we have not quite Afghan 2 occurring, seems SehSha is quietly evacuating her nationals and ‘unneeded’ diplomatic and civilian staff. I do not know if ‘others’ deemed dear to foggy bottom are on the evacuation flights but one would think so.
With the all important talks between Rossiya and US/nato/(uk, not that uk matters now) and various minions of SehSha concerning the (not)ultimatum starting at week’s beginning, methinks there will be some very hard evidence of SehSha’s involvement presented at the first moments of the discussions. SehSha will bluster as usual and try to draw out the talks for oh, say ten years but Mother will have none of this. I think what we have just witnessed is a tiny parting of the curtain hiding the ‘or else’, several thousands of elite troops organized and moved considerable distances in not much more than 12 hours from the first ‘heads up’ delivers a very strong message to anyone listening, and I’m sure more than one ear is to the ground in SehSha and not liking what they saw and heard one bit.
Bottom line, Rossiya just kicked some serious butt and stymied some very carefully laid plans to plant a scorpion in Rossiya’s shoe and while the cost for the Kazaks was not small, a maidan 2 in Mother’s very back yard was crushed.

@Auslander,
Agreed. From Warning Order to Ops Order execution in 12 hours across international borders (albeit close ones), and with heavy equipment no less is very impressive!
I am under the belief that the (not)ultimatum from Russia forced the USA to roll the dice and play its’ hand in Kazakhstan before they were ready. With the colour revolution on its last legs it leaves the USA weaker in the negotiations than before so not a well thought out strategic move on the part of the USA.
I am also of the belief that Russia knew of the attempted coup before the USA launched it.
@JackJC,@Auslander
Agree too, except It seems that culprit was British part of UK/US duopoly.
If true, soon the Atlantic Rift can become visible to all, or, in other words, impossible to hide.
@Blackring,
Between MI6 and CIA it’s hard to discern which is the tail and which is the dog, or do they just decide to wag together? Alternatively, was there a rogue operator or faction within either group that decided to touch off the revolution?
CIA could have contracted the work to MI6 for plausible deniability, but I think it’s equally likely that MI6 decided to play a card in the Great Game too.
Cheers!
In every possible way the CIA vastly outclasses MI6 – or anything else in Britain. Since 1945 and before, the CIA and its predecessors have (among other things) served as assassins and mercenaries for the world’s biggest banks and armaments corporations and their associated legal hyenas.
It seems quite likely that the CIA was the main force behind the murder of both Kennedy brothers. Isuspect that it killed Alan Turing and Thomas Merton, among thousands of others. Very probably James Forrestal.
So the CIA dictates to presidents and the leaders of the corporate world. In comparison MI6 is a very small white mouse.
Let me clarify. I do not insinuate that CIA works for MI6. I believe that those two, and City of London, and Wall street, ….are tightly controlled by the same center of power which is deliberately out of sight, unaccountable. It origins in European hereiditiary oligarchy with addition of US old money families. Cultular differences between them, inevitabily produces internal struggle(s). Currently, we are witnessing one, at the barely visible level of agencies.
We are unable to see into internal structure of this system, but all of us feel its blackhole-like presence.
Agreed.
On Dec.1,2021 President Putin demanded NATO to guarantee, that it won’t expand eastwards.
On Dec.16,2021 the by the U.S. embassy in Kazakhstan on the same day announced demonstrations did not materialize,(or did they and we are not informed?).
On Dec.28,2021 President Putin had informal meetings with the CIS Heads of State, including President Tokayef and former President Nazarbayev.
The steppes of Kazakhstan are for decades extremely flammable. To double, repeat : ”to double”, not simply ”to raise by some percent”, the petrol price on New Year’s Day, amid the day’s festive atmosphere, is premeditated arson or , a well beforethought provocation against the opponents, ”to play their hand before they are ready”.
”What is “hybrid war”? From the Russian perspective, it is a two-pronged approach to regime change. First, Western-backed NGOs encourage large protests against an incumbent government. Second, armed provocateurs use the protests as cover to stage kinetic attacks.”
https://www.zerohedge.com/geopolitical/why-kazakhstan-crisis-much-bigger-deal-western-media-letting
The ”sudden(?)” raising of the prices would encourage protests. If the armed provocateurs did not follow the protests, then President Tokayef would repeal the raise and all would become a-okey again. But they were ”forced” to follow. So,by this way,the battle was fought on the ground and at the time, that President Putin and friends chose. Of course, these thoughts are wrong. But it never hurts to try to read our leaders’ minds.
Auslander: The force Russia fielded in rapid time was sufficient to conduct a small war. And then there is all the stuff we didn’t see – the intelligence services, EW, air power (fighter escorts and reconnaissance). I imagine that Russia has hoovered up all radio contact across the spectrum for weeks before this and continuing now. Should they wish to swing West after Kazakhstan is done, then they could be in Calais in 2 days. This was not only to snuff out an insurrection, but also to make a massive point. Mission achieved.
A very interesting translation at MoA (under its “Mysteries Of The Failed Rebellion In Kazakhstan” thread) from Muhammad Sadiq Al-Husseini of what happened in Kazakhstan ( comment 156). There was no link but it made interesting reading:
https://www.moonofalabama.org/2022/01/mysteries-of-the-failed-rebellion-in-kazakhstan.html?cid=6a00d8341c640e53ef027880652845200d#comment-6a00d8341c640e53ef027880652845200d
I found this particular part of great interest –
“….What happened during the past few days of chaos, looting and destruction of private and public property, was under the supervision of an American-Israeli operations room, based in the city of Alma-Ata, the economic capital of Kazakhstan.
– This room consisted of 22 American operations officers, six “Israeli” military intelligence officers, and 16 Turkish intelligence officers. Groups trained to carry out sabotage operations “behind enemy lines / special forces or thunderbolts” were used in the implementation of the operations, which the Ankara government had trained and prepared. in its Turkish bases and sent them in a systematic and organized manner into the country in full coordination with NATO.
But once again, Moscow was on the lookout for them, and it began to thwart the operation when the Kazakh army, with clear Russian support, was able to regain control of Al-Mata Airport, which was supposed – according to the plan – to turn into a centre for receiving military supplies coming from the countries that manage everyone……”
It ties in with the Israeli soldier who died in Almaty a few days ago under the Sputnik live thread……. I thought it was odd at the time and the fact the Israeli’s announced it…..though they left out the fact he was a soldier in the earlier announcement.
How long before the British claim it’s the fault of Petrov and Boshirov?
Ah, Petrov and Boshirov. The Russian Waldorf and Staedtler from the Moppets Show.
No. Everybody knows that Cat and Gunea Pigs did it.
The mediocre blinken’s face of frustration and disappointment is evident, but let’s not laugh at the Empire. Anyone who ridicules and despises his enemies will certainly lose the war. We cannot joke with the empire. This is kindergarten stuff. Anyone who speaks the obvious is a fool. Blinken’s message was a code saying the following: Ukraine and other countries, do not allow the Russian invasion, because we can only expel the Russians with atomic war. So, resist and don’t let the Russians make the invasion they are trying to make. Much of the West is thus interpreting the message of Blinkem and the USA.
Nazarbayev and his daughters have left Kazakhstan according to this report;
Former President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev has left the country. Together with the first president, his daughters and their families went abroad. Such information was distributed on January 7 by the Kazakh edition of Orda.kz with reference to its own informed sources. According to them, only the elder brother of the “father of the nation” Bolat Nazarbayev remains in the country.
“It is noteworthy that since the beginning of the political crisis in Kazakhstan, neither the official authorities nor state TV channels and the media have mentioned the name of Nursultan Nazarbayev and his family members. Not to mention the fact that they do not report where they are and what is with them. We have information that the first president and his daughters and their families have left Kazakhstan. Only the elder brother Bolat Nazarbayev remains in the country,” writes the editor-in-chief of the publication Gulnara Bazhenova.
She also stressed the fact that in official reports and speeches the capital of the country is no longer called Nur-Sultan.
Recall that Nursultan Nazarbayev held the post of President of Kazakhstan for almost 30 years and left it in March 2019. After that, he became the lifelong head of the Security Council of Kazakhstan and chairman of the ruling Nur Otan party, and the capital of the republic of Astana was renamed in his honor — it was named Nur-Sultan.
Protests in Kazakhstan began on January 2. The participants of the rallies opposed the rise in prices for liquefied gas. Soon the actions turned into riots. Rioters began to demolish monuments to the first president of the country.

This is the problem with creating unrest and mayhem around the world so much. You’ll be blamed regardless.
This is the first i`ve heard about “the union state between Russia & Kazakhstan”, is this real or just a new thing?
Would be good in theory however the strong racial & ethnic differences in the long term would probably end up sparking an independence movement that may threaten Russia`s itself.
I think the question that needs to be asked is about is the Organisation of Turkic States and the countries that belong to it. The Turkish FM is offering Security help:
“Turkey’s Cavusoglu Says Organization of Turkic States Will Offer Kazakhstan Help
The Organization of Turkic States is ready to offer Kazakhstan any help it needs to overcome the security crisis in the wake of fuel protests, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said on Sunday.
“We will look into this situation at a meeting tomorrow and will offer all help that is needed,” the diplomat said in a broadcast statement ahead of the organization’s extraordinary video conference.
The organization is made up of five Turkic-speaking states, namely Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey and Uzbekistan.”

“…He said that unidentified people bought him a ticket and paid for a place for him to live in Kazakhstan. According to the man, around ten people from Uzbekistan and Tajikistan lived with him…..”
I think more concern and focus should be on this Turkic organisation and its influence in the region – especially when they call the violent coup attempt “fuel protests”. What was Nagorno Karabakh? Two members of this organisation providing “security”…..
Hello all,
I tend to go against the grain that Russia was asleep during the taking of Ukraine in 2014 and other places along the way. In years to come, Ukraine may be looked upon, judged as a masterwork in the art of warfare. Right now, many do not have what it takes, to acknowledge that they have beeen dead wrong on what has taken place.
Russia has not always had the ability to react in a way that would be most beneficial for it but, asleep at the wheel is not their thing. It is my opinion that this idea, concept, or whatever you want to denominate it as, about them being in love with sleep, unconsciousness ….. is pure nonsense. Nobody is always on time and on target in all instances. However, Russia never lets the chess board go unattended. They always play those cards. Even during WWII and the Nazi invasion, well everybody knows who won that one. Nobody wins if they are sleeping through it.
Today with Kazakhastan, to understand the speed, ferocity and accuracy of the CSTO counter move, one needs to look directly back to the closing days of the last centurty; 12 June 1999. It was as decisive as what is being done literally today and it also came out of nowhere, catching all of the usual suspects completely off guard. For myself, everything needs to be viewed through the lense Russia created where it moved 200 plus troops into Pristina Airport. That was the actual warning. The rest has only been implementation.
It was the beginning of what is now repesented as the end, in view of 10 January 2022. When Russia says there is no more time left, they mean they have already given numerous opportunities to stop the crap for almost 23 years. They are not kidding and they just cut off a couple of fingers in what they have shown in the last couple of days. The look on Sec. Blinken´s face tells me, that they get it now and they know it is too late for them. The shooting has started; unfortunately.
My take, I wish well to all.
John
One only need to access the readout from Blinken’s Press conference to see where the empire of chaos stand’s on Ukraine. Hopefully you won’t be eating when you look at the readout.

If the shesha enters the summit with this attitude, what’s the point. The empire only understands one thing, force. There is no point in negotiations with a agreement incapable state.

Well I have been prompted to read up a little (OK only Wikipedia) on the Togarev and was surprised to realise that we have here not some political hack, wanna be dictator, but a skilled operator, very clever and probably in the same intellectual league as Xi and Putin.
He clearly is and always was pretty much in the pro Russian and pro Chinese camp and perhaps because he speaks fluent Russian and fluent Chinese, may be in a very powerful position in diplomatic meetings. His formative years were in the USSR Foreign service. I think the Chinese link is also very important.
His domestic record since becoming President seems wise, trying to double the salaries of teachers and promote better wealth distribution (not sure how successful he has been but he seems to have tried).
While I realise that in the West Presidents are merely token characters, with no real power, it nevertheless seems to me to be a significant harbinger of changing times when the Presidents in the eastern block seem to be clever, wise and strong people, with the intellectual capacity to understand subtleties and long term consequences, whereas in the west the intellectual abilities of our leaders are declining to the point almost of absurdity.
Would Wikipedia inform you that Obama and Clinton both were CIA – Deep State Oligarchs Operatives before they were made Presidents. For example would you happen to know why was Glass-Stegall Act (1933) was Repealed. That’s why you must be a Horatio Nelson type watcher.
Beak
No wiki would not tell me but they might sometimes air allegations. However reading between the lines on wiki and other sources Obama, as I think was his mother seems a very probable CIA puppet. He was a reasonably clever but weak man, which is ideal for purpose. I am less sure about Clinton(s). My gut feeling is that Bill was far too arrogant and a bit too clever to be a CIA puppet, but I think very, very blackmailable. Hillary hmmmmm! Once a Goldwater Girl always a Goldwater girl in my book. She may well have been CIA/FBI/some other group, all along. She is seriously Russophobic which is characteristic of that type.
However being fair and objective, I think that my gut feel about the Clintons and Obama, works both ways – it is probable from what i have read that Togarev has always kept close links to Russia where his heart lies I think. On the other hand his predecessor was a wily player, like Erdogan. If not an actual CIA asset he was probably very, very bribable.
My point Beak, was that in the west they no longer even pretend that the POTUS or PM is capable. Look at Australia. Our trajectory since WWII in our Prime Ministers. 1. Very smart, earnest patriot, died in office 2.OK solid but anticommunist, 3 Conservative anti-communist ideologue but also very smart and able to compromise, (opposition leader at the time was possibly smartest guy in Australia (even world). Probably nobbled by CIA – early victim of LSD I suspect), long reign of no 3 in booming economic times. 4. Very pro USA but may have had a brain. Lost at sea (I mean REALLY lost at sea- washed into the waves and never seen again- not even his body), 5 genuinely patriotic and independent maverick who did not last, 6. A duffer, widely disliked partly because of strong rumours he was gay, but also because he had the personality of a dead fish. 7. Very smart reformist, nobbled by the CIA after 3 years, 8. A CIA puppet but oddly an honourable man in his later life- I assume he was essentially tricked, duped into doing the US bidding – based on his subsequent quite decent position, 9. Very smart, ex drinker, but widely rumoured to have been CIA (or blackmailable), womaniser), 10. extremely smart, independent thinker (still is) who while I disagreed with him on many things, cannot but admire his courage, brains or determination, These first 10 you can call as first class in their own way (not no 6). It has been largely downhill since
11. A suburban lawyer – very second rate. Honest enough but not a big picture person and very easily duchess-ed by the yanks, 12. Back to first rate – a real thinker but again rumour has it nobbled after 3 years by the CIA, 13. a decidedly second rate PM supported by the CIA (we know this from wikileaks), 14. an honest, intelligent, very, very anti communist, pro British ideologue who is also just a bit bonkers – second rank because basically nuts), 15. very clever if somewhat over-rated but with jelly for a backbone- rather Obama like – probably not a CIA asset – too arrogant and off side totally with MI6. Nobbled by Murdoch. This lot other than no 12 was our series of second raters. The B team as it were.
As for number 16. Well to call him third rate would be to insult third raters. He is totally incompetent while being a nasty smirking, venal, idiot.

Western leaders are mere puppets/figureheads chosen by those who really control western governments, for their ability to influence the masses that’s why they are usually younger and personable (Macron, Trudeau etc.) The celebrity kind like Reagan and Trump. And who also have skeletons in their closet so they can be kept on a short leash lest they think independently. Like the kings of Europe in 1800-1900. Weaklings that are obedient.
Me, I know I am being tracked or followed by AI as we all are in part for commenting here, and some are tracked personally. If the Russians have the same capabilities, they might have everyone dead to rights. It sounds like it was at first staged on the internet (per usual) and all the social posts are history. Perhaps this is the new way of handling “Color Revolutions” is to let them hang themselves on the internet
Sounds like leader tracks lead right to the Ukraine and the Bidens according to Moon of Alabama.
yea. It had been years since they tried to invade my social networks. As soon as I commented here on the blog, they tried to invade my email, social network. Had to change password, etc. This is all very serious.
Seasons Greetings to all!
Perhaps the current Kazakhstan debacle may not be much to do with energy resources… maybe it is much more about foreign NGOs attempt at nobbling a successful economy that has the absolute cheek, to not only employ state and publically owned banking models but also wants to cooperate with its neighbours in security and economic initiatives too… such an affront to Mr Global’s grand plan!
As a result, my hypothesis is that this development might be way more about their large public banking presence than anything to do with resources. It kind of hit me because I was working on this public/coop banking subject anyway and then this situation came up out of the blue. This doesn’t look anything like a spontaneous homegrown uprising to me… clearly, there are lots of foreign NGOs involved… much like what happened in the flare-up in Ukraine.
Methinks this smells like another Banker’s attempt at starting, if not a war, then at the very least massive security problems in this country which shares an 8300 km border with Russia and China. It just so happens that Kazakhstan has been going along quite nicely with their largely publically owned banking models and have been looking into a unified national pension scheme too. Mr Global would be seething at seeing a country like this ride through the rough times without too much of a hiccup.
Also of course its neighbour to the East, China has ~ 80% of its total banking assets in public or state-owned models. Russia to the north has a huge swath of its bank ownership in state and public ownership too.
I see that Citibank is the only big-time Western cabal type bank in Kazakhstan – coming in at #10 ranking size [Kazak banks in asset size].
Mr Global will be really pissed about this and keen to wreck Kazakstan. Interesting too that the first leader Nursultan Nazarbayev ruled from the formation of the independent Kazakhstan nation after the break up of the Soviet Union in 1991.
He had enormous political support right up until he resigned in 2019, so perhaps Mr Global never had much of a look-in when trying to rough up this country. Sadly the new President Tokayev is in deep shit now only 3 years into his Presidency.
https://www.themoscowtimes.com/2019/06/28/kazakh-leader-to-wipe-out-debt-of-the-poor-end-bank-rescues-a66188
Also of course President Tokayev is an enthusiastic supporter of giving financial autonomy to his people using state and publically owned banks. He is a huge supporter of the SCO [Shanghai Cooperative Organisation]. His country is also vitally strategic in terms of access and logistics in letting this monumental economic initiative thrive.
The SCO is the biggest challenge to Mr Global’s financial hegemony that ever cropped up. Destabilising Kazakhstan is clearly high on the agenda. One of the main henchmen, US SOC Anthony Blinken, pretty much gives the show away in his utterly idiotic and monumentally hypocritical recent announcements. For example, RT aired Blinken stating that Uncle $am feels that Kazakhstan “has the capacity to deal with the protest situation appropriately and in such a way that respects the rights of protesters whilst maintaining law and order… it is not clear why they feel the need for outside assistance… we’ll try to learn more about it”.
Actually, the U$ had 28 years to “learn about it”… as Kazakstan signed the CSTO [Collective Security Treaty Organisation] way back in 1994. The U$ and NATO simply wouldn’t recognise or even associate with this perfectly legal and very necessary organisation let alone in any constructive or cooperative capacity.
Now that this treaty is being used to diffuse a very dangerous situation [from exactly the same old playbook as they used in the destabilisation of Ukraine] Mr Global and his Western Warmonger lieutenants are very busy endeavouring to escalate an already highly dangerous situation. Given that there is a massive 6846-kilometre common border between Russia and Kazakhstan is it any wonder that Russia wants to exercise their perfectly legal right to assist Kazakhstan in de-escalating yet another tinderbox?
Just to make things even more outrageously hypocritical, SOS Blinken finished off by saying… “Lesson of recent history… once Russians are in your house it is sometimes very difficult to get them to leave”.
YCHMTSU!!!

From Amarynth.
“…– At this time, with suppression of the armed insurgents, the situation is not yet fully under control, but clearly the trend is toward quick and decisive control actions by Tokayev, and supported by the peacekeepers from the CSTO alliance…”
Best guess? The militants are already gasping for air, but they have been given orders (and promised more money), if they can continue to attack Kazakh and CSTO’s armies until after Jan. 10. If, as different news sources announced, the bulk of the remaining militants are in downtown Almaty, at this point they are surrounded, The outcome (and their existential dilemma) is clear, give up weapons, surrender or die. Depending on where they come from, ISIS, AQ or whatever other alphabet soup group of militants they belong, they might fight until their end.
On another note, la Zakharova has a tongue to be reckoned with. Poor bastard Blinken was left blinking hard after she delivered the Russian reply, diplomatese a-la Zakharova. Want some more? Go ahead, make my day.
Overall, good news.
Thanks, Amarynth.

Anyone have a link to a video of Zakharova giving the reply?
I am wondering if the rumors are true that the CSTO took over the (American?) biological weapons lab in Alma-Ata? Also, rank rumor mill says the lab was working on gain of function with regard to yersinia (the black plague).
Hi Vera,
You can … (and I think should) research these topics yourself.
Then you can contribute by posting sourced information, not mere “I read a rumor”.
This is one (of many) item I located when I used a search engine.
I selected the Salon article, because Salon is an empire mouthpiece. It is always intriguing to see what they themselves say about their pet projects.
<The US is building a bioweapons lab in Kazakhstan
NOTE: 2013
When it opens in September 2015, the laboratory in Almaty will serve as a way station for a global war on disease
Extract: …to… biologists in Almaty, the lab is less about defense strategy and more about developing scientific expertise.
Currently the KSCQZD is focused on studying and preventing potentially lethal contagion, like the case of the teenager across the southern border in Kyrgyzstan, who died last week from bubonic plague after eating a barbecued marmot (he was likely bitten by a flea, doctors said). 🤓🧐🤨^[what, no bat soup?]😁
“Funding for the $103 million construction project in Kazakhstan, and much of the lab’s operations in its early years, will come from the Dept. of Defense, which envisions it as playing a central role in monitoring pathogen outbreaks, a strategy that received new funding after the anthrax attacks in 2001.
Last year, the White House announced a program that consolidated these efforts under the banner of “biosurveillance.”
Thank you, White Whale. It will be interesting to see what information about the lab emerges after the dust clears from the failed putsch clean up operation. As for bubonic plague, it is commonly found in rodents and bats the world over, no need fishing for it in Kazachstan. And as long as it is recognized, it’s easy to cure with antibiotics.
“Global war on disease.” How ominous it suddenly sounds.
Vera,
While not about any specific bio-weapons lab in Kazakhstan, there is a very informative article detailing the ‘work’ of U.S. Pentagon Bio-Weapons labs that are located outside the U.S. Written by Bulgarian journalist, Dilyana Gaytandshieva, the article includes a map (courtesy of U.S. DOD) showing locations of 25 such labs, many on the southern perimeter of Russia.
One example is the Lugar ‘Center’ in Tbilisi, Georgia. (Sounds like your friendly neighborhood drop-in center doesn’t it? – Wonder if the cookie lady visits on occasion to give baking lessons to the neighborhood children? – “Double, double, Toil and trouble, Fire burn and Cauldron bubble!”) Richard Lugar, a former U.S. senator from Indiana, was apparently a cheery promoter of U.S. bio-weapons labs – overseas.
The author, Gaytandshieva, lists anthrax, tularemia and viral diseases (e.g. Crimean-Congo Hemorrhagic Fever), along with Ebola and various insect-borne diseases (ex. Leishmaniasis) as among the diseases of interest to the U.S. DOD overseas bio-weapons labs.
Cheers!

After reading Amarynth’s summary (thanks!), a thought popped-up on long-term strategy:
First, after the USSR fell, many ex-Warsaw Pact states would have nothing to do with successor-state Russia. This ‘feeling’ extended to various degrees through the ex-USSR perimeter. This was a trust issue.
Second, Putin has been very careful to restrict Russian moves. They never go where they are not asked, and sometimes not even then.
My thought is that this ‘strategy’ may be beginning to pay off. Memories of the dominance of the USSR are fading, and memories of decades-of-restraint by Russia are sinking-in. This may be why Tokayev felt okay with calling-in Russian assistance (in the form of CSTO & the Russian Federation).
At some point, unaligned ‘edge’ states may choose some form of mutual protection with Russia, rather than individually-falling to a suspicious “color revolution.” The tide in old-feelings versus new-feelings may have changed. This may have been what Putin was waiting-for.
Ironically, it was Benjamin Franklin who said, “We must, indeed, all hang together or, most assuredly, we shall all hang separately.”
@Goshawks
This is a nice thought.
In my opinion we could enlarge on it with the thought that what Russia today offers is different from the union of the USSR. It offers an unbreakable but voluntary association in which each state is completely required to be its own state, with its own solid security apparatus.
Whether this is from just Putin himself or the Kremlin as a whole, Russia seems absolutely NOT to want the responsibility of managing any other nation’s affairs. What it wants is sovereign security for itself – and exactly that for each of its neighbors and collegial nations.
Or so it seems to me.
(As an amateur and outside observer, I have always thought that if I had Russia’s borders and geography, I would see that my true security could only lie in a world totally at peace.)
And so the matter of trust that you cite, is in essence a case of having enough time to see by its actions that one can trust Russia to be true to what it wants – no more and absolutely no less.
I think it is an excellent offer that Russia presents, simply by the integrity of its existence and its policy, and I think you nail an important aspect of the entire regional security and thinking.
And certainly, it seems the pieces are moving one by one towards this kind of association.
Goshawks and Grieved
Great comments that perhaps expand on my own hypothesis.
Cheers
Col
Some comic relief for everybody.
https://asiatimes.com/2022/01/in-kazakhstan-russias-imperium-grows-at-chinas-expense/
Thanks
It has been said that Tokayev will seek admission to the Union State mechanism.
This is what I have been saying for a while: a reformed version of the Soviet Union should come back. Belarus and Kazakhstan are doing so officially; Abkhazia and South Ossetia seem to have done so unofficially; and Eastern Ukraine wants back in. If it was up to me (obviously it is not) once the Union State treaties & procedures are complete, I would have the new “Union State” change its name to the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics just to anger the West. I am certain China, India, Iran, Africa, and half of South America (i.e. over 50% of humanity) would be supportive, while the rest of the world would be forced the facts on the ground.
Absolutely the best solution
Interesting!
All the posts I have read so far on this thread seem to address RE-ACTION (by Russia Federation, CSTO, SCO, China, “Zone B”, etc.) to the Anglo-Zionist “colour revolution” provocations.
Nobody seems to be seriously addressing PRO-ACTION within the AZ sphere (Hawaii, Aztlán, Latin America, etc.) to keep those buggers busy trying to fight the flames on their own home turf, and thus less likely / able to continue fomenting troubles for others.
^^;;^^
Morc
There is more than one way to skin a cat.
Russia, China, CIS, CSTO, SCO etc are not interested in fomenting social upheavals in various parts of the world for the simple reason that these ‘revolutions’ bring nothing but misery to ordinary people living in the regions involved. RF et al know this very well and have no desire to bring misery on the heads of innocent, ordinary folk — if you were a citizen of ‘Atzlan’ would you be happy if your town was torn apart with violent rioters, your lives disrupted, hopes dashed — IOW get buggered — just because RF needs to keep the Empire busy in its own backyard? Of course not.
Now, if the ‘Re-actions’ of RF, CSTO, PRC, etc seem defensive, it is because they are; but it doesn’t mean that RF et al have lost the initiative — acting defensively to gain the initiative is more important. In the case of Kazakhstan, RF et al have actually gained the initiative and put the Empire — I have no doubt the Empire exploited social fissures in Khazakhstan — on the back foot. After this Kazakhstan will most likely abandon its ‘multi-vector’ approach to foreign relations. Its membership in the Ankara-inspired grouping of Turkic countries — despite words of gratitude from Tokayev — will probably be put on the backburner, and a clean-out of Empire assets will commence.
Other ‘Stans, particularly Uzbekistan, will be watching and drawing lessons from Kazakhstan. It will become very clear to them on which side their bread is buttered.
I agree. After so many years, reacting to danger at their borders is either a sign of semi-colony status (must not until the water reaches their ears-“no Germany allowed”), incompetence or ideology that allows it.
Well of course Russia is an incompetent ‘semi-colony’ djole.
What was Vladimir Putin, the president of semi-colony Russia, thinking when he said this 15 years ago?
“However, what is a unipolar world? However one might embellish this term, at the end of the day it refers to one type of situation, namely one centre of authority, one centre of force, one centre of decision-making.
It is world in which there is one master, one sovereign. And at the end of the day this is pernicious not only for all those within this system, but also for the sovereign itself because it destroys itself from within.
I consider that the unipolar model is not only unacceptable but also impossible in today’s world. …”
How dare Putin the Serf say this in the face of the great master, the USA?
Russia is so incompetent that when Maidan happened, quiet green men appeared in Crimea — the crown jewel of the Black Sea — and ensured the peninsula’s return to Russia. The Master, on the other hand, was so competent that it didn’t see Crimea coming — it thought passing cookies to the riff-raff on Maidan square was enough and ended up owning the useless parts of the Ukraine, like a mangy dog licking the bones of a rotting carcass while the bear made off with the best bits of the prey.
Russia is so incompetent that it took them half a day to put troops from various CSTO states in Kazakhstan from the get-go. More competent countries in Nato would have taken more than 24 hours to move a sizeable force.
Russia is so servile and incompetent that the US agreed to discuss its ultimatum. The great Master wouldn’t have done that if Russia wasn’t so weak militarily.
No, Russia is bereft of national power: its leaders incompetent; it lacks energy; its technology third-rate, its military even worse; its diplomats treated as a joke and laughed at around the world; its economy in tatters; it is full of vodka-swilling drunkards who sh*t on the pavements of its rundown cities; it is facing an incipient civil war. China has low regard for it; the Arab eunuchs in KSA and UAE are not cosying up to it.
I suppose that’s why Syria, and now Kazakhstan, turned to it for help.
And I suppose that’s also why the West is having sleepless nights thinking about its ultimatum — because Russia is an incompetent semi-colony with a flawed ideology.
Read to understand the lack of foresight of Russia’s leader and the roots of Russia’s incompetence:

Like many former Soviet Republics and Warsaw Pact countries, Russo phobia is taught to young Kazakhs. 60% of the population are less than 28 years old and having no class consciousness. Lots of unemployment.

@ subhuti37
Thanks for that link. Great catch.
More and more evidence will surface this was a coordinated effort for a Kazakhstan “Maidan” as the smoke settles down, investigations take place, and the true face of the “popular uprising” is made clear. President Tokayev has a busy time ahead addressing the root of this turmoil, if there is hope to keep Kazakhstan as a viable society.
NED needs to be kicked out, US aid should be rein back, economic investment should focus on the disenfranchised, social and political networks need to be created as transmission belts between the ruling elite and the masses at large, education needs to be reformed, Russophobia needs to be addressed, Turkey’s interference should be stopped, Islamic radicalization denounced.
They better get to work as of yesterday.
Lone Wolf
“More and more evidence will surface this was a coordinated effort for a Kazakhstan ‘Maidan’…”
There’s no doubt that there was a plan for Kazakhstan and resources on the ground.
But I’m thinking that it may have been triggered prematurely. I’m not convinced that this coup attempt had enough probability of success to instigate it this close before the next round of US/Russia meetings. There has also not been much from the MSM.
On the other hand, perhaps it was triggered by the West and they are happy if they can start a low level insurgency even if unable to achieve a coup. Yet, still, the MSM is so quiet. Kazakhstan is on the map only for those looking for it.
And, yes, something must be done about the domestic problems. Until then, it will be a repeating cycle of Western-backed terrorists exploiting these areas of disaffection.
So If there is any truth to the notion that Kazakhstan is actually the beginning of Russia proactively cleansing its front door of accumulated trash, rather than Russia reacting to Western moves, then I am also watching for something big to soon happen involving Ukraine.
@ Stahl
“There’s no doubt that there was a plan for Kazakhstan and resources on the ground…”
Agreed. More information is coming up as detainees are interrogated, militants came from Kyrgystan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan, their flight to Kazakhstan was paid for, and they were paid as well.
https://avia-pro.net/news/boevikov-v-kazahstan-zavozili-cherez-kirgiziyu-tadzhikistan-i-uzbekistan
“…But I’m thinking that it may have been triggered prematurely…”
That enters into the realm of speculation, a slippery slop. We don’t know their levels of preparation, planning, and objectives. All evidence so far points out to their piggybacking on genuine discontent and protests in order to launch a military offensive to dislodge the Kazakh government and institutions. Whether the insurrection was premature, only further investigation into the origins and the planning of it will tell.
“…I’m not convinced that this coup attempt had enough probability of success to instigate it this close before the next round of US/Russia meetings…”
Again, we don’t know their planning, so we can’t tell their success rate. Or whether their intention was to succeed. It could have been a dress rehearsal.
“…There has also not been much from the MSM…”
I beg to differ, there has been a lot of coverage from the MSM. They are all over it, from denying participation in the coup, before anyone pointed a finger in their direction, to denouncing CSTO intervention as another “Russian invasion,” blaming Russia for violation of human rights, the whole nine yards.
“…I am also watching for something big to soon happen involving Ukraine.”
Only the Russians know what would happen in Ukraine. It is clear, as Amarynth showed above, there is a link between Ukraine and the Kazakh uprising. It makes a lot of sense for the Ukronazis and their CIA/MI6/NATO puppet masters to launch a diversion right in the middle of a defining moment between the “Western partners” and Russia. It diverts focus from them, it takes away Russian resources and attention from the main confrontation with the West, and it shows to the world Russia’s vulnerability on a dangerous flank, its underbelly.
Lone Wolf
Russia has received an early answer, in blood (live from Kazakhstan on their border ), in NO uncertain terms from their US/NATO counterparts regarding their Security Concerns.
As Eli Wallach said in The Good, The Bad and The Ugly – ‘If you’re gonna shoot, shoot, don’t talk’
IMO it would be farcical of Russia to now attend these futile meetings next week. A complete and utter waste of time and energy/resources; A postponement at least until the fallout of the Kazakhstan Coup d’etat is resolved and culprits involved dealt with accordingly.
Trump handed Xi chocolate cake and whispered sweet nothings in his ear to the effect that Syria was being bombed. Did America/UK wave the starting flag in Kazakhstan several days too early, intending the coup to begin during Lavrov’s/Shoigu’s/ ?????? meetings?
That would have been a major embarrassment, as Lavrov sipped his expresso, Blinkers whispering in his ear. Sends a shiver down the spine.
Removed – no capitals as per the rules – its screaming. Mod.

@WTFUD
“it would be farcical of Russia to now attend these futile meetings next week”
I think at least the first meeting, the one between the US and Russia only, should happen. Russia probably already knows much about the events in Kazakhstan, and can have a private talk to the US, laying down all Russia’s arguments. Depending on what US answers, then Russia may withdraw from the other meeting with NATO and EU.
OSCE squawks loudly when their journalists are attacked, but not when Kazakh or other non-NATO journalists are attacked:
https://www.rt.com/russia/545416-kazakhstan-media-attacks-osce/
I would love to see clear pictures with names and backgrounds of the “rioters” (i.e. terrorists) posted. I am particularly interested if any NATO spies have arrested or shot.
The biggest mystery for me is the role of the Prime Minister of Armenia, who acted promptly as the current President of the CSTO. I thought he was Soro’s man, brought into power via a colour revolution in Armenia.
By the end of the week we will all know clearly where we are headed.
US/NATO have fundamental decisions to make regarding the future of NATO and US objectives in Europe and the world.
Whatever happens, my guess is that it will result in political turmoil in the US. It is crunch time and the US won’t be able to kick the can down the road any more.
Whatever is happening in Kazakhstan, it hasn’t changed Washington’s position.
It looks like the NYT has published today the attitude ahead of the meetings. Some pretty worrying information in the article:
https://sputniknews.com/20220109/us-penning-punishing-sanctions-against-russia-in-case-of-invasion-of-ukraine—report-1092122855.html
I think this is very telling:
“….According to The NYT sources, the reason for the development of the unprecedented sanctions is the fear of the Americans that after the negotiations Russians will suddenly announce that their security concerns have not been addressed, and that the failure of the talks would be used as justification for military action…. US Secretary of State Antony Blinken stated Friday that “no one should be surprised if Russia instigates a provocation or incident,” as it will try “to use it to justify military intervention, hoping that by the time the world realizes the ruse, it’ll be too late.”,,,,,”
So already they have the narrative that Russia won’t be happy and their pre-arranged excuse and the justification for using terrorists in Ukraine:
“,,,and therefore the US intends to facilitate a large-scale insurgency on the country’s territory similar to the one that led to the Soviet withdrawal from Afghanistan more than three decades ago.
This would also include the pre-positioning of armaments for Ukrainian militants, including anti-aircraft missiles such as the Stinger, which might be deployed against Russian forces.,,,”
So Europe will now have terrorists on its soil – worked out well for Afghanistan! Are the Europeans/EU that stupid to allow this?
So there you have it – it isn’t sending arms to the Ukrainian Army – no insurgents! And the whole world has been told. Are the Russians going to go to the UN with this?
The Russians have said the following:
https://sputniknews.com/20220109/russia-will-not-bow-to-us-pressure-or-make-any-concessions-deputy-fm-says-ahead-of-geneva-meeting-1092126786.html
“…Russia will not give in to US pressure or make any concessions ahead of the Geneva talks set for 10 January, Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Rybakov has told Sputnik.
The diplomat stressed that Moscow is “very disappointed” by signals from Washington and Brussels ahead of the meeting on the security guarantees proposed by Russia last month.
“In a nutshell, they reflect a lack of understanding of what we need. And we need legal guarantees, legal guarantees that NATO will not expand further; elimination of everything that the alliance has created driven by anti-Russian phobias and all sorts of misconceptions about the essence of Russian policy since 1997,” Ryabkov explained…..”
So the “exceptionalist” nation is walking into a meeting about security guarantees and legal agreements with threats about insurgents/sanctions etc…. I have serious doubts like Mr Rybakov about these meetings.

“In Russia, the state media are trying to keep silent about this, but one of the main reasons for the current protests is not the economy, but new COVID restrictions that were planned to be introduced there from January 5.”
Let’s begin with what probably everyone can agree on: yes, undoubtedly there are various disreputable three-letter agencies sticking their dirty little fingers in Kazakhstan right now. This is what they do.
But guys: even the most blatant textbook color revolution requires certain criteria in order to get off the ground. One important criteria is that there needs to be a lot of genuinely angry people who are willing—maybe even eager—to come out into the streets when things get wild.
Amid the fierce clash of narratives over what is “really” happening in Kazakhstan, almost nobody seems to be thinking seriously about why the Kazakh people might not be enthralled with their leaders.
According to Reuters, people were grumpy about fuel prices and then—in a span of several hours—decided it was time for the government to go bye-bye.
But if you read The Incredulous Geopolitical Blogs, it was a top-down Western op that deserves to be violently suppressed.
Maybe there’s some middle ground here?

Warning. France will be next. At least 100,000 people took to the streets of France in protest against Covid-19 restrictions and mandates, after President Macron promised to make the lives of the unvaccinated increasingly hard until they accept the jab.

Not much is being said about what effects this new coup would have had on China if it had succeeded. The Chinese are well aware of the threat posed by the Davos crowd, New World Order, Deep State, Anglo/Zionist whatever you want to call them. And make no mistake it is not just the good ole US of A that is responsible for the horrors unleashed on the world. We are no less a pawn than the Europeans, we are just a false front to point your fingers at, makes it convenient and way to easy, a very visible entity too curse and throw stones at. The enemy is hiding behind the false front and for more on that you can watch this video titled Monopoly, details who runs the world: https://www.bitchute.com/video/M2T7vYTTZ2IK/
Make no mistake the Chinese are preparing for war, all of them. I have watched several Chinese movies and enjoyed the mysticism, fantasy and story line, the poor peasant who finds himself battling demons and monsters to save the pretty damsel in distress. But this movie is all together different, this is a hard core war film firmly identifying the enemy of China and the Chinese people. This film is aimed directly at the soul and pride of a people who like the Russians have been kicked around for centuries and have had enough. The sleeping giants have awoken and gained strength and the people are united behind their governments. Let us hope that the representatives of the evil behind the false front come to their senses tomorrow, but hope is a shallow meaningless thing because the borg needs war to hide their crimes.
The Battle at Lake Changjin was commissioned by the Chinese government and was released in September of 2021 and has grossed more than 900 million worldwide.

Thank you. I enjoyed that film. Perhaps a little woodedn to start, but the action scenes were well done. Interesting to see how the Chinese see it, and some of the YouTube comments are interesting as well.
something niggling at the back of mind ….has been mention of K. as a major bitcoin mining centre……now if big costs in rise of energy from national supplies or peoples using generators for more reliability….that could well motivate a group of determined like minded people to do something?
I saw that too.
Could be another compelling reason K was targeted, a stacked function.
However rather than the Mafia behind much of crypto, it could be the Banksters eliminating competition.
All wars are ultimately Bankster wars..
and in their drive to roll out CBDCs they targeted the #2 or #3 global energy source for crypto mining
In my humble opinion, an overnight impoverishment of the leading banking houses might be a useful step. In other words, a decisive control over communication can defang the money managers and bring western military command centers to a standstill. A win-win situation for the global population.
I think this should be interesting for this thread unless it has been addressed already. Look at the picture of all three together
One of the conspirators was a Kazakh official who has been linked to Joe Biden and Hunter Biden!

Agree with that. I had…
Karim Massimov, accused of treason, is ethnically half Uyghur and is a born citizen of Kazakhstan.-wiki
His mixed Kazakh-Uighur ethnic heritage was viewed as a factor that would hold him back in a country where people expected a full-blooded Kazakh as president. Masimov once forced a media outlet to issue a rebuttal to a report claiming that he was Uighur, on the grounds that his Uighur heritage is on his mother’s side, whereas ethnicity derives from the father by Kazakh tradition.
https://eurasianet.org/kazakhstan-masimovs-downfall-from-the-corridors-of-power-to-a-jail-cell
In order to become president the Uighurs would have to get control of Kazakhstan. Uighurs mainly inhabit the areas bordering China in the Almaty oblast where the main clashes took place. This is also an important route for exports to China.
https://minorityrights.org/minorities/uyghurs-2
https://www.swissinfo.ch/por/dist%C3%BArbios-no-cazaquist%C3%A3o-abalam-petr%C3%B3leo–mas-deixam-ur%C3%A2nio-intacto/47247128
This is an attack on China not just Russia. The big clashes taking part in Uighur territory seem to show the Uighurs are backng KM. The opening of Kazakhstan to Xinjiang was probably a big part of the plan.
Uighurs are most probably backed by the US, UK and Turkey.
Very dangerous and more than a color revolution.
In order to become president the Uighurs would have to get control of Kazakhstan. Uighurs mainly inhabit the areas bordering China in the Almaty oblast where the main clashes took place.
So the East Turkestan movement, like so many other “freedom” movements supported by the West, never limits itself to a supposedly limited disputed territory, but tries to conquer pieces of other countries. In other words:
*Uighur separatists, in addition to Xinjiang, want half of Gansu province and half of Kazakhstan
*Tibetan separatists, in addition to Tibet, want half of Sichuan province
*Kurdish separatists, in addition to half of Turkey, want chunks of Syria, Iraq, and Iran
*Chechen separatists, in addition to Chechnya, tried to conquer Dagestan and Inguishetia
When NATO is soundly defeated in the upcoming war (hopefully it stays conventional), for future long-term peace and security the CSTO-SCO alliance should ensure:
*Britain is broken up into England, Scotland, & a fully united Ireland, and nuclear weapons removed
*Spain in broken away from Catelonia & Basque
*France is broken away from Corsica, & its remaining overseas colonies; remove nuclear weapons
*USA is broken up into 4 or 5 separate republics, and all WMD destroyed
*Canada broken up into Quebec, Cree, & other aboriginal republics
*Decimate Rothschild, Bush, Rockefeller, Soros, Buffet, Gates, & other oligarch families
Indeed! Russia probably have all the details, and will probably use it during the negotiations.
In other news, China is questioning the NGOs role in this failed coup:

Just for fun, Blinken gave an interview: https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/week-transcript-22-secretary-antony-blinken-sen-mike/story?id=82154120
Many things are just repeating what has already been said in twitter. A few statements a haven’t read elsewhere:
“… when it comes to, for example, the scope and scale of exercises, … those are things that we can look at”
“… I don’t think we’re going to see any breakthroughs next week”
“if we’re seeing de-escalation, if we’re seeing a reduction in tensions, that is the kind of environment in which we could make real progress, and, again, address concerns — reasonable concerns on both sides”
“We’ve been clear that we expect the Kazakh government to deal with protesters in ways that respects their rights, that pulls back from violence at the same time”
“The shoot to kill order, to the extent it exists, is wrong and should be rescinded”
“We have real questions about why it was necessary to call in this organization (SCO)”
Blinken explicitly excluded the Kazakhstan’s coup from the talks this week. We’ll see if Russia will mention it.
Overall, I’d say the US seems to be soiling their pants with this Kazakhstan thing. On the other hand, China is showing their support to get it resolved, and I think they are paying close attention in order to learn how they can better deal with their own situations (Taiwan, for example).
This next week will surely be interesting.
So the forces of chaos have created a stage for Russia and China to display the Christian and Daoist virtues of loving one’s neighbour by restoring peace and order through purposeful cooperation. Meanwhile Maria Zakharova dishes out some verbal GBH on the western earholes. Brutal.
Russia asked the USA/NATO for security guarantees on December 15th. By January 3 the answer was given: color revolution in Kazakhstan. In other words, the USA just gave a big eff u to Russia.
That’s a power move, indeed. And I doubt that Biden even knows what is going on. The is the CIA or CFR or whomever actually runs the USA.
Mr. Putin knows how to make power moves, too. What he does will be fascinating to watch.
But, I can see that 2022 is not going to go well for anybody, except maybe China.
You are right, but I will add – as they say, news from the field. )))
– Moscow knew about this operation for a long time, the CIA and the Mi-6 (partly the Mossad), in the Kremlin in June Nazabay was strictly warned, in December in St. Petersburg at the forum there was a flogging for the second time together with Tokayev.
– Russia provoked a false start – in the very near term, a terrorist attack with the seizure of the Kazakh-Chinese plant “Ulba-TVS”, which received (?)) On November 16 the Central Asian region along with the military provation of Nazi Ukraine, but …
MOSCOW, November 16. /TASS/…. -Kamenogorsk for the production of nuclear fuel for reactors of Chinese nuclear power plants ”
https://tass.ru/ekonomika/12941011
So the goal and objectives of the United States:
US Goal: US Return to Central Asia
Regulatory framework for the application of the US Armed Forces, 2021:
– counteraction to the proliferation of nuclear weapons and other types of weapons of mass destruction;
– the fight against terrorism …
Charter of the United Nations (chap. VI, VII, VIII):
“The Security Council has the right not to refer to a specific chapter of the Charter when adopting a resolution authorizing the deployment of a UN peacekeeping operation.”
US Tasks
– the deployment of counter-terrorism centers and air force bases for control, intelligence, influence / threat of the RF-PRC-IRI … counteraction to the Russian-Chinese projects “One Belt – One Road” “Greater Eurasia”.
USA method
– the revival of transnational jihadist terrorism in Central Asia.
