Elections in Russia: the turnout was good, the result a crushing victory for Putin’s party. There is exactly zero signs of a “Russian Maidan”. The popularity of Putin is as high as ever and much, much higher than the popularity of any western leader. The Putin-bashers everywhere have clearly failed to even have a marginal impact.
Fall session of the Duma: all the party leaders spoke and all agree that harboring any hopes for sane relations with the West is a waste of time; the consensus is now that Russia must 1) turn to the rest of the planet 2) accept the challenge to deal with a hostile and aggressive West 3) use this opportunity to disengage Russian from the western political, economic and financial system.
Banderastan: the Ukie and EU Parilaments signed an association agreement with great pomp, standing ovations and backslapping. Truly a historical moment indeed: the EU and Ukieland will now go to the bottom together. Great – they truly deserve each other. The amazing, paradoxical and, frankly, funny thing is that neither side can afford this partnership and that both the EU and Ukieland will suffer the negative consequences of this disastrous agreement.
I recently came across a really funny poem in Ukrainian written by the Ukrainian author and poet Oles Buzina which, I think, perfectly expresses the nature of what happened:
За що людськую кров лили?
За те щоб ціни повишали,
І знову плакали хохли.
За те щоб Крим, знов став московським
І щоб донбаським став Донбас.
За те, щоб долю України
Рішав в Європі підарас.
My (free) translation of this into English would be:
Why did they stand on the Maidan?
Why did they shed the people’s blood?
So that the prices would rise higher
So that the Ukies could cry again
So that Crimea would become Moscow’s
So that the Donbass would own itself
So that the Ukraine’s future
Would be decided by the Euro-homos
Novorussia: the special status offered by Poroshenko is not for Novorussia, but purely for NAF controlled territories. Besides, as the Novorussian leaders have correctly pointed out, the Ukie Rada has no authority to pass any rules in Novorussia. Conclusion: the the words of a senior Novorussian leader – this new law is just the basis for further negotiations, nothing more. Apparently, there is already a wave of panic in the usual “this is the end, Novorussia has been sold out, Putin is a traitor” mode (what else is new?). Guys, take a deep breath, wait a few days, and you will see this law for what it is: Ukie wishful thinking floating in a nauseous bubble of hot air.
[note: I have not seen the text of the status offered to Novorussia by Poroshenko. If you see it, please email me the link or post it here]
Military situation: the Ukie counter-offensive has still not started but I still consider it all but inevitable. Amazingly, the NAF has still not succeeded in stopping the JRF at the Donetsk Airport from shelling the city. Considering the human cost of letting these Nazis continue to murder civilians and the political costs of looking unable to finally get this airport under control, I cannot understand why the NAF seems to be unable to solve this problem.
I. Bezler |
Interesting promotion in Novorussia: Igor Bezler, the military commander of the strategically crucial city of Gorlovka (just north of the Donetsk-Debaltsevo line) has been awarded the rank of Major-General and appointed as the Head of the Intelligence Service of Novorussia. He is a rather mysterious and very controversial figure. It will be interesting to see the reactions to this nomination.
Economic situation: the Ruble is falling against the Dollar and the Euro, but the Russian Central Bank makes no effort to prevent that. Clearly, the Russians do not believe that this is more than a temporary phenomenon made worse by speculative selling.
My comments about Fedorov are eliciting some dismay. Sorry friends, I call it as I see it. So I would like to re-post here a comment I made yesterday: Fedorov and I probably agree on most goals and values, we are definitely on the “same side of the barricade”, but I cannot say that I am impressed by his analyses which I find superficial and, no offense intended, simplistic. He does a lot of good stuff, with the Duma for example, and I have nothing against him, but he is does have a tendency to go into a “panic mode” which I don’t like. Now, he is WAAAY better then Dugin, but both have this tendency to go “the house is burning! the house is burning!” when was it needed is slow, painstaking and meticulous daily work towards the goal. You might wonder whose analyses about the Ukraine I like most: Sergei Glazev’s. Nikolai Starikov is often also very good.
Paul Craig Roberts: some commentators have been very critical of him. Personally, I have a great deal of respect for him and I find his analyses very good. I have nothing bad to say about him and I can think of many extremely insightful articles by him.
The campaign to slander and discredit me: I think that it has petered out and failed. I am quite sure that those behind this campaign will try again, but for a while at least they are licking their (self-inflicted) wounds. My only message to my detractors who have in vain tried to slander me will be a quote from the Russian singer Boris Grebenshchikov who once wrote “”нет рук для чудес, кроме тех, что чисты” or “only clean hands can accomplish miracles”: this is why you will never accomplish anything.
Let’s not dwell on it any more, turn the page and move on.
Now, in conclusion, a few very important reminders and general comment about panic and hysterics:
First: what we are really dealing with is a US war on Russia. No, it is not waged with conventional military forces or, even less so, nuclear forces, it is waged by the use of the Ukrainian people. As they now say, the US will fight Russia down to the last Ukrainian. Sadly, this is quite literally true.
Second: really, there is no such thing as the Ukraine, or even Banderastan or Novorussia. These are (correct) political categories, but really, if we are really honest with ourselves, this is what we have: an occupied Ukraine and a liberated Ukraine. That’s it. This is really the core of what is taking place. And just as in WWII, the Ukraine is really only a battlefield for a move to Moscow.
art: Josetxo Ezcurra |
Third: just as Kutuzov could not “sell out” Smolensk or Stalin could not “sell out” Kiev, Putin cannot “sell out” Novorussia. Regardless of your assessment of Putin’s morality, values, ethics or goals, you cannot possibly believe that he is that stupid and that his entire entourage of advisors are that stupid. And even if Putin was that stupid, along with his advisors, he still cannot change the fundamental geostrategic reality that what is under attack is not the Ukraine, but Russia. I would add that Putin, Lavrov and many other top Russian political leaders have said many times that in Yugoslavia it was really Russia which was the target of the attack, just as it is Russia which is the real objective of the war in Syria.
Fourth: an almost constant panic mode bordering on hysteria is just not the right mode to *understand* this war, much less so wage it and win. I will gladly admit that I myself a guilty of this “sin”, but at least I am able to differentiate between my fears and my analyses. I would remind those who in Russia and in the West who are constantly predicting an apocalypse that none of their predictions (NATO attack on Russia, US nuclear attack on Russia, upheavals in Saint Petersburg, a Russian Maidan, the Ukie Nazis running over the Donbass, etc.) have materialized so far. Let me give one simple but extremely telling example: for many months I have been arguing that Russia was covertly helping Novorussia while my critics argued the contrary. My detractors were clamoring that Russia was standing by and doing nothing. Well, who was right? I am not saying that just to gloat or ridicule my opponents, but to make a very different point: I did not have access to any secret info and all I could do is use my knowledge and experience of Russian policies and methods and they told me, quite unequivocally, that Russia must be covertly helping. In contrast, my critics based their “analysis” on a mix of fear and words, statements, made by various officials. Now it is undeniable that they were wrong. Of course, they never admitted to that but they very gradually included the undeniable fact of Russian covert help into their more recent presentations. Fair enough, but I wish they would at least have learned their lesson. But no, they did not. They are still functioning in exactly the same mode, mistaking their fears and prejudices with facts and analyses. Thus my advice to all of you, my friends, is keep listening to these “prophets of imminent doom”, think about their arguments, but just remember that, so far, their record is quite telling: 100% wrong.
Quoting the “Iron Felix”:
There are very few people as evil and odious in history as Felix Derzhinsky, the human demon who created the Soviet secret police, the ChK. But, as the American say, “even a broken clock is right ever 12 hours” and, as Malcolm X liked to say “I am for truth, no matter who tells it”. Well, there is a great quote by Derzhinsky which I recommend we all keep in mind and try to live by: “Чекистом может быть лишь человек с холодной головой, горячим сердцем и чистыми руками” or “a Chekist can only be a person with a cool head, a hot heart and clean hands“. Of course, this was not at all how the real Chekists were, but the notion of a “cool head, hot heart and clean hands” is very good: a cool head to avoid panic, a hot heart to be truly dedicated and clean hands to never believe that it pragmatically is right to do something which is morally wrong.

Just saw this on rt.. As well as that joke about Ukraine going to make nukes. They have the infrastructure to do it but what about the scientists? They would also need to start up some very old or better to build a reprocessing plant if the IMF would give them an extra 2 bil to do it.
Russia is going to increase its military presence on the Crimean Peninsula as “the situation in Ukraine has escalated sharply,” Russian Defense Minister announced.

Which Russians have been meeting with Ukrainian officials:
The Russians who accepted Pinchuk’s invitation and joined the Kiev party are critics of Putin and supporters –- some of them advisors — of Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev. According to the list of more than 500 participants issued by Yalta European Strategy (YES), these anti-Putin Russians were publicists Yevgenia Albats, Yevgeny Kiselov, and Saken Aymurzaev of Echo Moscow Radio; Igor Yurgens, an advisor in Medvedev’s ill-fated presidential campaign in 2011-2012; Lilia Shevtsova (below, left), who divides her employment between an American and a British think-tank; Vyacheslav Nikonov (right), currently a State Duma deputy and chairman of the Russkiy Mir foundation.

§ Bill #5076, “On the Statement of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine “On the European Choice of Ukraine” (sic.)
An outstanding event took place in the history of modern Ukraine – the Ukrainian Parliament has made a crucial step in the direction towards the European integration.
[…]
Now all brunches (sic.) of power demonstrate unity of views on Ukraine’s European prospective, – in no small part due to the factor of external pressure that was clearly directed at making our country retreat from its far-reaching choice. The one who exerts this pressure should realize that the greater the pressure is, the greater the resistance will be, and the more united Ukrainian people will become in their fight for the choice of their future. Whereas aspiration for a higher level of civilizational development, that is based on democracy and civil society, is the integral part of strategic development of our country.
The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine as the only legislative authority that embodies the will of its electorate claims that by having ratified the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement, Ukraine, as a European state that shares common values of democracy and the rule of law, emphasizes its sovereign choice for the benefit of the future membership in the European Union under article 49 of the Treaty on European Union.
[…]
The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine considers ratification of the Agreement not only as an impetus for implementing further reforms in Ukraine but also as another step on the way to accomplishing its main objective – the European integration – becoming a full member of the European Union.
[…]
§ Bill #5081, “On the special order of local self-government in separate regions of Donetsk and Luhansk Oblasts”
The law determines temporary, for the period of three years since enactment of the Law, procedure for organizing local self-government as well as activity of local bodies of self-government in separate regions of Donetsk and Luhansk Oblasts that encompass regions, towns, townships, and villages determined by the decision of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. It is established that Ukrainian legislation in some regions shall operate with consideration of peculiarities determined by the Law for the period of the introduced special order of local self-government.
§ Bill #5082, “On preventing persecution and punishment of participants of events on the territories of Donetsk and Luhansk Oblasts”
The legislative act exempts from criminal responsibility those persons who committed crimes, stipulated by the Criminal Code of Ukraine, in the period since February 22, 2014 until the day of this Law coming into force, on the territories of Donetsk and Luhansk Oblasts where the anti-terrorist operation was conducted as well, who:
– were members of armed groups or involved in activity of such groups and/or
– participated in activity of the self-proclaimed bodies in Donetsk and Luhansk Oblasts or counteracted the anti-terrorist operation.
The Law is not applied to persons who:
– are suspects, accused (defendants) and did not fulfill actions stipulated by chapter two of article 1 of the Law, and/or
– are suspected or accused of having committed crimes stipulated by several articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, or are sentenced for committing crimes stipulated in these articles, and/or
– committed actions which led to the МН17 “Malaysia Airlines” plane crash on July 17, 2014 in Donetsk Oblast, and/or impeded the investigation of the plane crash.
The Law exempts from administrative responsibility those persons who committed administrative crimes, stipulated by the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Infringements, in the period since February 22, 2014 until the day of this Law coming into force, on the territories of Donetsk and Luhansk Oblasts where the anti-terrorist operation was conducted as well.
This is floating around the predominantly pro-Kiev British Media today:
Source: Agencies, http://www.theguardian.com/world/2014/sep/16/ukraine-votes-more-power-separatist-east
-START QUOTE-
Ukraine’s parliament has voted to give the east of the country limited self-rule as part of proposals aimed at ending the deadly separatist insurgency.
Politicians also ratified an agreement to deeper economic and political ties with the European Union, drawing a line under the issue that last year sparked the political crisis that led to the overthrow of the president, Russia’s annexation of Crimea, and a war with Russia-backed separatists that has killed more than 2,600 people.
President Petro Poroshenko says the proposals will pave the way for decentralisation while guaranteeing “the sovereignty, territorial integrity and independence” of Ukraine.
The main points of the legislation, unveiled as part of a peace plan signed with pro-Russian insurgents and Moscow on 5 September are:
• The rebel-held Lugansk and Donetsk regions will be granted a “special status” giving them broader autonomy for a three-year period.
• Local elections will be held in some districts of the two mainly Russian-speaking regions on 7 December. The last local elections held nationwide were in October 2010.
• Use of the Russian language to be allowed in state institutions.
• Regional councils will have the power to appoint local judges and prosecutors.
• Local authorities in Donetsk and Lugansk can “strengthen good neighbourly relations” with their counterparts across the border in Russia.
• The legislation also promises to help restore damaged infrastructure and to provide social and economic assistance to particularly hard-hit areas.
• Another bill on amnesty protects from criminal prosecution “participants of events in the Donetsk and Lugansk regions” – appearing to apply to both the insurgents and Ukrainian government troops. Rights groups have accused fighters on both sides of abuses that might be classified as war crimes.
Donetsk and Lugansk, together known as the Donbass, have a combined population of nearly 7 million people, about one-sixth of the national total. But it is responsible for nearly a quarter of Ukraine’s exports and is home to strategic military production facilities that supply engines and other vital parts to the Russian space and aviation industries.
The industrial region is dotted with coal mines and steelworks that have been the engine of Ukraine’s economy since the 19th century.
-END QUOTE-
The people who told Putin NOT to send in the peacekeepers on Day One are now the people telling Putin that Russia (and Novorussia) has nothing to worry about? Notice a pattern here?
Take the ‘peace treaty’ that the usual ‘traitors’ are trying to tell us is just the ‘grounds for further negotiation’. Let’s examine that premise…
If the Humans of Novorussia accept ANY form of agreement that leaves their lands as a legal part of Ukraine, Kiev has the absolute Right to establish Kiev controlled military bases all across Novorussia. Kiev has the legal Right to disarm any group of citizens it so wishes in Novorussia. Kiev has the legal right to built a Gaza-style wall between Russia and East Ukraine.
ONLY if Novorussia becomes truly INDEPENDENT (not legally part of whatever remains of Ukraine) can the above listed horrors by Obama’s neo-Nazi forces be avoided.
You see, a Federal (or State) based system as we see in the UK, USA, Germany, Netherlands etc CANNOT prevent the Central government authority from placing its forces within ANY region of the nation. Sure, local regions/States may have their own ‘councils’, ‘police force’ and maybe even a lightly armed militia, but the Central government ALWAYS has the absolute Right to place armed forces wherever it so wishes, and has absolute authority to maintain borders with other nation entities.
So what are these ‘negotiations’ with Kiev that the usual traitors try to tell us could possibly produce a favourable outcome for Novorussia. Do any of you think, for one moment, that Obama’s stooges in Kiev will permit Novorussia to ‘negotiate’ its independence?
The traitors are whispering in Putin’s ear to hold steady, and continue to act ‘reasonable’, just as the Demons in the West require. In reality, Putin simply sinks further into the quagmire, so when he finally disposes of the traitors, and acts decisively, the West will be in a position to inflict maximum harm on Russia in response.
The traitors want Novorussia to be the “sore that never heals” on the Body Politic of Russia. I bet 95%+ of the people visiting here now understand Putin was a fool for not acting decisively months ago, when the time was best suited for sending in the peacekeepers.
Let me ask you all a question. Imagine yourselves as the representatives of Novorussia at these so-called negotiations. What would you do? What would you accept? You KNOW what happens to Novorussia a little time hence if you accept ANYTHING to the liking of the West. Yet you know there is ZERO chance of Kiev’s side accepting any true form of independence for Novorussia.
I would deliver a statement saying that we have a Right to live free, and that the Holocaust inflicted on Novorussia by the same team that inflicted the Holocaust on Gaza proves beyond all doubt that our opponents are Demons, and no sane Human can ever negotiate with Demons.
Those that claim the negotiations are any form of starting point are either ‘useful idiots’ or hidden agents for the other side. Kiev is stalling as NATO arms and mercenaries flood into Ukraine. Every day the traitors persuade Putin to dither will translate into hundreds of dead Humans in Novorussia in the near future.
The traitors are telling Putin the US oil sanctions (legally signed off by Obama but not yet implemented) can be avoided by Putin continuing to back the ‘peace process’. It seems that only Putin doesn’t notice that the more he dithers, the more the zionist controlled mainstream media successfully demonises him further. Being ‘reasonable’ in the face of Demonic attack is the worst strategy in the world. ‘Reason’ only works when it appeals to a ‘reasonable’ opponent.
Putin needs to immediately recognise the independence of Novorussia, and get state-of-the-art air defence systems into Syria and Iran. Sadly, Putin is too busy doing deals with the monsters the West has placed into power in Israel, Saudi Arabia and Egypt instead.
Rt is very much trying to sell the “special status” law as a great progress. Doesn’t speak about the 3 year limit or the territory where it will be applicable…

His repeated urging that Russia shut off the gas to Europe is a good example of either extremely poor analysis or sheer provocation.
If Russia were to follow Roberts’ advice it would turn her largest customer into a wounded and infuriated enemy. In fact, Roberts looks very much like a tool of the US State Department in its effort to drive the EU to war with Russia.

Oh funny підарас a french word: pédéraste.
With what expectation one heads for the Saker’s vineyard – no more disconsolate, wearying searches amid Western Propaganda press fields. . .
How one enjoys being a “toiler in the vineyard of diplomacy” (or not) learning, reading articles, comments, level headed, analytical, deeply knowledgeable, and those which flash out with human emotion and inspiration or even combinations of all.
We have new awareness, new information,(POWER)and feel connected to an awakening world movement that goes beyond language and borders.
But still there is the constriction in thinking governed by fixated, blind materialism.
Russia belongs to all Europe, especially to Germany – traitorous villain for not protecting her(which includes Ukraine). (The fact that Germany has a broken spine and Europe mostly without a voice does not prove this wrong).
But China? Russia and China??? This is an abomination of thinking, of world development, of humanity and will end in more treachery.
(Nothing personal intended against Chinese people, including friends of mine)
When we finally wake up from the crushing tyrannical nightmare of economic materialism, then we will learn about Russia, her place in the world, about freedom, true brotherhood, and about eternal love, which great artists throughout the world have always espoused -especially those from Russia!!

No one will ever get, what I mean, when I say: these are apokalyptic times.
“apokalypse” original means that a shroud is taken away from a truth.
Exactla this is, what I ‘ following with my mind – nowhere clearer then on sakers vineyard.
It’s to me a huge wave in the human evolution, occuring recently in the multicentric traces of the russian leaders …
A world is awaiting for this apokalypse
Novorussia has to liberate itself from Russia before it can liberate the rest of Ukraine. Yes, these are artificial categories, and there are multiple levels of economic, information, political warfare happening, but it will have to come from within the fighting spirit of the militia, the historical legacy of the GPW and Soviet Ukraine, the Russian People, and international antifascism. There can be no other way. The Poroshenko ATO is a human catastrophe, but it has legitimized a people’s revolution. What’s more, the future of the non-West, and even the West itself, depends on the success of the revolution. Thank you to the NAF for fighting against capitalism and for peace and freedom.
Just a few remarks. I really do think that you are overly optimistic.
Take the recent elections in Russia for example. No, the striking low turnout was not good by any measure. Equally disturbing are the state propaganda efforts to avoid any meaningful analysis of voters’ abstention, trying to explain it away with bad weather(?!), or the large number of people on vacation.
And have you not noticed the recent “meeting of those who matter”, invited by the World Economic Forum chief douchebag? Some very influential business people from Russia were present as well. The “proposals for peace” in the Ukraine, announced by this gang of banksters and racketeers would actually doom Novorossia, if anyone there took them seriously.
I still have doubts about the plans of Putin and his group for Novorossia. It looks like some of the processes there are not to their liking. And common people tend to be sacrificed routinely in the global games of the high and mighty.
Vladimir from Bulgaria
The Saker said:
Economic situation: the Ruble is falling against the Dollar and the Euro, but the Russian Central Bank makes no effort to prevent that.
The fall of the Ruble is not a big worry, imported goods from the west become much more expensive, but we have the sanctions, so the effect will be minimal.
However, it makes Russian energy much much cheaper to buy and far more tempting for Europe. when Europe feels the pinch, which is already happening, it will be increasingly hard to resist.
On another note, the Kiev concessions may not do a lot for Novorussia, but they will infuriate the Nazis.
They’re already burning tires outside government buildings — this to my mind is a good thing. Let the dogs fight amongst themselves.
I believe time is an ally of Russia and Novorussians so long as they can purchase it. The US meanwhile is locking back into Syria, Putin will need to put his skates on there.
Finally nobody knows what will set things off — a Scottish yes may trigger financial meltdown.
Lastly what is really happening in the EU is, I think, the million dollar question, if they stay in Atlantis they economically drown, if they sail away in the good ship Eurasia things brighten up enormously. will they jump, or is that the forlorn hope?
Had to add, no colour revolution in Russia this election, not even a peep, is a very very good thing indeed.
Perhaps the camel’s back is broken and the last straw having been loaded last month?

True! They could even end up with sanctions, bellicose and lying rhetoric, and following mindlessly the American line at the expense of their own people.
Now, please tell us some old-fashioned jokes, enough with avant-garde…..
The Ruble.
That the Ruble was long overvalued has conveniently been ignored by much of the press.
Relative to purchasing power parity (that is where economists calculate it should be)it is 29% undervalued.
http://www.vectorgrader.com/indicators/purchasing-power-parity
But so is pretty much every developing country and all the BRICS. The EU/EU and similar coutnries (Switzerland, Australia) are a block all at similar overvaluations. The rest of the world are at similar “undervaluations” as Russia.
No wonder Russia is so relaxed about this.
Plus, given that so much of Russia’s production is priced in USD, it makes little difference anyway.

I would agree with the anonymous from above, even though it saddens me: Putin lost on all fronts. The empire pretty much got everything it wanted.
On top of that, the provocations will continue.
For months we were fed what, looking back I think were wishful-thinking stories of Putin the Great chess master, etc.
But who is checkmate today? Whose currency is strengthening? Whose is weakening? Who got the treaty they wanted signed, signed? Who got away with (absolutely atrocious) murder?
Which relationship has been hurt? Which one strengthen?
How come Russia’s so called BRICS partners are not speaking out, showing support on the international scene?
If you can show me any actual proof that Putin’s strategy is working, please do so.
I had great hopes that this was almost the end of this unipolar world. Turns out the empire has grown even more powerful.
Oh, and what does China (supposedly Russia’s ally) decide to do today? Print a massive amount of yuans, in essence providing relief to the USD.
I don’t trust the Chinese… I can definitely picture them stabbing Russia in the back.
When was it proven that Russia helped Novorossia? Isn’t that just something ukies cry about.

The Saker is right. Russia has in fact helped Novorossija; he just forgot to add that she has done it very carefully and very selectively…. so to avoid crushing effectively the Junta army.
It’s because she has different interest from Novorossija, or so they say…..
I have been asked by friends in other continents for some background on the vote in Scotland on thursday. Here is the first tranche on the political background.

I share Paul Craig Roberts’ general stance on most foreign policy questions, but sometimes he does get a bit too hysterical for me. Like some of the Russians you cited, for a while he pushing the ‘Putin betrayed Donbass’ meme, eventhough it was perfectly obvious VVP was aiding the insurgents, and they were making progress. He was also warning of the danger of nuclear war for a time, which I found exceedingly unlikely (for obvious reasons). To sum up, I still take his analysis of economics very seriously–that was, after all, his profession–but I have downgraded him just a bit on foreign policy. I much prefer your style.
There are very few people as evil and odious in history as Felix Derzhinsky, the human demon who created the Soviet secret police
Haha, it’s plain to see that good old Iron Felix has rightfully earned the wrath of the Western imperialist bourgeoisie alongside Stalin and, yes, Putin. Pretty amusing how Westerners stubbornly stick to the lies and slanders of the mythical 1%-ers all along the line when it comes to the latters’ 20th century hoaxes. The 1%-ers, however, rightly put politics in command and therefore pass the same verdict upon Putin as they have upon any of their more determined, intelligent enemies throughout history. The West has always been run by congenital murderers and liars. Let me tell you also that to me, Iron Felix stands out as the one and only Pole who has really contributed something worthwhile to Humanity.
Anyway, I agree 100% with you that the You’re_a_peon Union and Banderastan absolutely deserve each other. More specifically, the Ukros wanted really badly to become “True Western Subjects”, did they not? I’m dead sure they are going to achieve huge successes in the realms of toilet cleaning and commodified sex for the Greater Good of Western Civilization.

Of course! Because Putin is a fluffy, innocent and trusting lamb, bleating his days away in the green pastures of Mother Russia.
How do you weaken a leader with an approval rating of 80+% without immediately being turned into mincemeat by an angry throng of his supporters? Start a campaign of slander, accusations and lies against his retinue. Insist that traitors surround him and demand their removal. The good old “good Tsar, evil boyars” routine. If you’re lucky, you’ll end up with a situation where either the Tsar is weakened enough to accept your terms for ongoing y”protection” and become a figurehead, or where boyars will turn on the Tsar to save themselves.
Ivan Grozny and the “seven-boyar rule”… Peter Romanov and Sophia the Regent, with the Streltsy wiping out boyar families opposing her, claiming them to be “traitors”. Streltsy, the protectors of the Tsar… Strelkov, the protector of Putin… How deliciously curious.

Saker: “Economic situation: the Ruble is falling against the Dollar and the Euro, but the Russian Central Bank makes no effort to prevent that. Clearly, the Russians do not believe that this is more than a temporary phenomenon made worse by speculative selling.”
This maybe part of the import substitution plan. A devaluated ruble leads to higher import prices and lower export prices, which supports domestic producers by making them more competitive to foreign producers. I think this is a good thing. Russia is now in the process of switching to another economic model. Russian leaders have now talked for a long time about this.
And there is double need for this: First, security reasons. This is obvious for the defense sector, but also for other basic and necessary good (food and medicine).
Second, the slowing European economy. Europe now had its triple recession in five years, which is a very bad sign. It is now obvious to everyone that there is some big fault in the European economic model. The neo-liberal economic model has failed very miserably, and there are now even voices in the elite economic circles (ECB President Dragi for example) who call for a more demand oriented approach, i.e. higher wages and more investments from the state). It will take some years till this insight has taken hold in the political elites. Till then they will apply exactly the wrong measures (i.e. lower wages and austerity), which will only worsens and deepen the economic problems. There is now a high probability that the EURO-Zone will brake apart in a couple of years. Mark 2017 on your Calender. This is date when Marine Le Pen will win the elections, because the French elite totally caved to German austerity demands.
What this all means for Russia is, that it cannot rely on Europe anymore to drive its economic growth. It has to reorient itself. Either it searches for a substitute export market for its energy Resources or it completely changes its economic model, i.e. re-industrialization and modernization.
The latest pseudo-legislation squirted out in unseemly haste by the Ukrainian Rada indicates yet again that the Kiev Junta is publicly back-peddling away from its previous ATO rhetoric and desperately clutching at any kind of dignified exit strategy in view of its on-going misadventure in the Donets Basin.
The Kiev Junta is attempting to obfuscate its retreat with amateurish sophistry, half-hearted ceasefire breaches, and various absurd outbursts from the likes of Yatsenyuk.
This farce takes place against a backdrop of double-dealing between the Junta and an array of potential future adversaries such as its so-called partners in the US State Department, as well as its so-called sponsors at the IMF, as well as the hawks within the Junta that cannot come to terms with their own climbdown, as well as various Ukrainian oligarchs that are seeing negative ROI, not to mention the “revolting” ultra-nationalists that feel they have been deliberately fed into a meat grinder; then there’s the Junta’s soon-to-be ex-cheerleaders in the CIA-infested Ukrainian media and, last but not least, the Ukrainian public.
This is another US-inspired coup gone sideways with similarities to the present chaos in Libya, which also currently has at least two governments.
The response from Donetsk People’s Republic Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Purgin, as reported by Lifenews via novorossia.su (source: http://novorossia.su/ru/node/6683), rough translation:

Purgin: We do not accept Poroshenko’s terms in respect of the status quo
In responding to the recent Rada pronouncement on the status of DNR and LNR in Donbass, Purgin said that this a legislative act of a neighboring state, as opposed to an applicable law carrying any force in Donbass.
– We do not yet have a fully articulated position on this document. Nevertheless, it relates to the law of Ukraine and will be adopted by the Verkhovna Rada; we have our own Supreme Council that is responsible for local legislation
– According to Purgin, if and when this law is passed, the militia could be willing to discuss it with the authorities in Kiev but only elements that concern economic and social ties, since any political power-sharing structure that included Poroshenko’s government would be unacceptable to DNR
– Such political structures are excluded in whatever form, be it federalised or otherwise. Too much blood has been shed and the number of casualties is huge and incalculable
“We have defended our freedom”, Purgin added in the Lifenews interview.
Poroshenko’s bid to fix the boundaries of the devolved structures along the existing lines of the current militia positions, thereby freezing the status quo, Purgin considers “temporary and shaky.”
DNR and LNR are prepared to consider future proposals only if their boundaries coincide with the actual boundaries of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions.
The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine today adopted a law on the special status of Donbass. According to the bill, which is intended to stand for three years, special procedures will be put in place for the local government of certain areas of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions.
These local governments, in turn, will have (a level of) control over the appointment of prosecutors and the courts. The bill also provides for the granting of an amnesty to supporters of the militia and the guaranteed right to use the Russian language in the region.

And just a note to anybody out there who thinks there is any chance that The Guardian will ever be anything more than a press release service for UK MoD: it won’t. Any news that is favorable to Russia or Novorussia (that can’t be ignored) is reported via an agency reprint, with comments closed. Massive events are routinely ignored. And of course, the rest is tabloid journalism. But at least – there is comic relief for readers who understand that Shaun Walker is an unwitting RF intelligence asset – hot to trot on stories of 10 paratroopers, 1 APC, ghost battalions and disappearing RF army brigades – which are more likely than not fed to the SBU by the FSB.
Ukraine has to survive winter. The EU has breached its own rules which state no border disputes as a pre-requisite but I doubt Ukraine will ever move beyond associate status – just like Turkey.

On the other end, I don’t imagine Lavrov siding with oligarchs against Putin.

The self-government proposal from banderstan is a PR move without real substance. It is for the zio-media and the zio-quislings of the ZPC/NWO to use as a hammer to hit the Novorussians over the head with if they don’t surrender. There is zero chance the ZPC/NWO would allow there bandera-quislings to honour any of it anyway, since they have forced the junta to break every single agreement they make. Until Kiev is able to break away from the ZPC/NWO leash, anything from will not be worth the paper it’s written on.

“Poroshenko should sign it first, it should get published and come into force. Then we will translate it into Russian, study it and give our opinion,” DPR Prime Minister Alexander Zakharchenko told RIA Novosti.
Zakharchenko’s first deputy Andrei Purgin added that the republic views the bill “only as a point of contact for future dialogue, not as a legislative act.”
“This is nonsense when the Rada of Ukraine passes bills not for Ukraine, but for Donbas. We have our own parliament for this purpose,” he added…”

Mozgovoi hanging tough against the increasing pressure to give in to the will of the “fifth column”:
After several years of pressure on and humiliation of the Russian world, we simply must put an end to the abuse of our people! The second tough question in today’s story is this alleged creation of united military commandership. I would like to remind that the military council has never managed to gather! Many commanders are simply afraid to become outsiders after this, i.e. be deprived of any support and supplies. Our unit has just started receiving the supplies in the amounts minimally required to exist at the front line (this is my reply to those, who blame me of my frequent visits to Russia. Only by means of these visits I have managed to establish a direct contact with the suppliers of humanitarian aid).
A single-sided creation of the commandership and appointment of the supreme commander without participation of the commanders of all units is nothing other than playing ahead of the game in order to prevent an honest and long-needed military council from taking place. The struggle is truly only starting now! Many militia members are already giving up looking at this swamp. Do not dare do this! Do not dare to bury yourselves and the idea too soon! There are liars in the offices, but we have the truth behind us!

“Russia and Turkey may significantly increase the use of their respective national currencies in mutual payments, the Russian Economic Development Minister Alexei Ulyukayev said Tuesday.
“Now just $1.5 billion – or a little bit less than five percent of our $32.7 billion bilateral trade – operates in mutual currencies,” Ulyukayev said after a meeting with his Turkish counterpart, adding that this sum may be significantly increased.
According to Ulyukayev, increasing the use of national currencies is possible “through developing correspondent bank networks, including subsidiary banks, and developing their relations, the relations between the central banks, the possibilities of conducting swap operations and through the possibility of spending part of reserves on investing in bonds, nominated in [Russian] rubles and [Turkish] liras…”

By now seems that the ceasefire was a tactical manouver of strategic import for the internal Russian domain as well. By consenting to the conditions of the oligarchs which NR has declared betrayous, they have self-delluded into believing and acting as if they had reached the hithertoo unseeable time for negotiation with their ukrs and usaeuros peers. “His repeated urging that Russia shut off the gas to Europe is a good example of either extremely poor analysis or sheer provocation.”
I have not read him lately but I can imagine why he would say it. The fact is, the carrot approach does not work with the EU. The stick will make them think twice. Also I would not consider the EU much of a friend to Russia. It’s has become nothing but an American tool. If you haven’t noticed what is happening in Ukraine is a proxy war against Russia by the NATO which by extension implies the EU.
America has been trampling all over the EU, and yet the EU is subservient to it, while Russia has been a good trading partner and look at the way it has been treated.
The EU needs to choose either closer ties with Russia or go with this current American folly of world hegemony and only super power. The American empire is in its death throes, and instead of helping it to die quietly and quickly the EU is trying to revive this monster.
Shutting of full or partial flow of the Gas scariest outcome for the EU short of a full scale war. It seems to have worked in softening the tone of the EU. They are scared of full repercussions of trade war with Russia and terrified at the idea shortfalls in gas supplies. This has been shown by the type of sanctions they place and the delay of free trade agreement with Ukraine.
Robert believes that the US is pushing the world into World War III and he is right. And the EU is not stupid enough to not realise this but it still goes along with America, it shows you how much it values that relationship over the safety and well-being of the people it suppose to represent. Perhaps shutting off the gas is not as mad as it sounds, it will certainly make the people revolt against their current governments and the distrust of the EU is ever growing.
Hungarians have a very old proverb in Hungarian language it is like “Hulyekel csak finoman” and in a free translation to the English would be “With the stupid, only by the fine way”
I have a feeling that Putin knows this proverb very well and he is using it all the time
I read you occasionally, but not very often. You’ve been wrong on almost all counts in your analyses, regardless of what you might think of your own spin.

This is an impressive presentation and analysis of an all-to-plausible scenario from Joaquin Flores: 4th generation warfare and what Anglo-US-NATO (aka – The International Community) has in store for the Ukraine and Russia.
My guess is that the Russian leadership is as aware and versed in the methods described as anyone and it’s the fiendish complexity of it that pretty much guarantees a long, drawn out war – mainly cold hopefully. For sure the Anglo-US-NATO ZOG forces will not let up until either the existing system collapses or Russia surrenders.
‘unstoppable force meets immovable object’ – in slow motion; that – it seems to me – is what we are witnessing
@ Mr. Saker, you are in the flow and, quite correct, plainly stated:
[this] is what we have: an occupied Ukraine and a liberated Ukraine. That’s it. This is really the core of what is taking place. And just as in WWII, the Ukraine is really only a battlefield for a move to Moscow.

Special Status for Donbas – kinda, sorta, not exactly, only parts.
Is this workable?
DONETSK, September 16 (RIA Novosti) – Leaders of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) on Tuesday played down the importance of the law granting the self-proclaimed territories a three-year period of special status within Ukraine with wider autonomy.
“Poroshenko should sign it first, it should get published and come into force. Then we will translate it into Russian, study it and give our opinion,” DPR Prime Minister Alexander Zakharchenko told RIA Novosti.

“This is nonsense when the Rada of Ukraine passes bills not for Ukraine, but for Donbas. We have our own parliament for this purpose,” he added.
Earlier on Tuesday, Ukraine’s parliament, the Verkhovna Rada, approved a law submitted by President Petro Poroshenko to introduce self-administration in parts of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
[.]The status of Ukraine’s eastern regions remains a stumbling block to settlement of the country’s crisis. DPR and LPR leaders said they lay claim to the whole territory within the borders of the respective administrative entities in Ukraine. Kiev, however, said it was ready to grant special status only to areas currently controlled by independence supporters.
The DPR and LPR also said they want full independence and will not agree to any status that sees them as part of Ukraine.

Turning off the gas would be a very appropriate reply to the utterly arbitrary sanctions that the spineless EU keeps imposing just to please the US.
Contrary to popular belief, Russia can very well go on without selling any gas to Europe. It would NOT be a catastrophic event for Russia at all. It would be for Europe, of course, which would force it to come to its senses, one hopes.
At the ver least, Russia could and should decide to stop gas flow through Ukraine as long as Ukraine persists in stealing it or otherwise take grotesque advantage of the transit rights.
It is the US/EU that have been making every possible attempt to turn Russia into an “infuriated enemy”, not the other way around.
Russia has been very measured in its response. Too polite in fact.
The thing with Roberts is that he is basically good man with good intentions, and with a lot of knowledge, but he is steeped in American elite culture and assumptions, and not yet fully recovered from his conservative ideology — albeit paleoconservative.
Chess — bishops are very useful, but they aer still only bishops and cannot start moving on squares of the other colors. Knights can never manage to move in a straight line. Don’t expect them to do things they cannot.
All of us are limited and blind to some extent, and that’s why we need to cooperate and arrive at group decisions, as well as the occasional perhaps brilliant or perhaps wrongheaded individual initiative. It’s also why we should eschew ‘believing’ things, but rather to try to maintain alternative narratives and paradigms, always within some mix of confidence and doubt.
Reality is far too complicated to fit in our paradigms, label, and abstractions (cf Korzybski — the map is not the territory.)
As for these laws and what is said about them, they too are just abstractions and narratives: what is actually happening and will happen (or even has happened) is something different from what one can think. Thoughts and words are not the territory either.

I just found this blog, thanks to a commenter at NC. I pretty much agree with the political analysis herein. I think we are headed for a hot war, not a second version of the cold war. The desperation of the Zio-axis of evil has never been more palpable. It’s all about saving the petro-dollar and letting the BRICS know that the US is not about to quietly fade out. This ends in nuclear war for sure. The Neocons have made it very clear that they consider nuclear primacy and preemptive strikes their preferred toolbox to achieve political objectives. Thanks to globalism and the 2008 Wall Street meltdown, the world economy is now in tatters. How soon before nobody has faith in fiat? Any day now, at the rate things are going. The last straw was going after Syria, Iran, and Russia. China is next. Deep State, USA is helmed by psychopaths with a depopulation wish. Behind the scenes, I suspect that Lavrov and Putin are extremely concerned about World War III. It’s what they are doing, not saying that is frightening. The Zio-axis has absolutely no regard or respect for Russia and China. Coexistence is obviously not what the Empire wants. So, that leaves more WAR.

Wikispooks, this is a war to the end. The Anglo-Zio-Yankee Reich is determined to maintain ‘Full Spectrum Dominance’ over the entire planet, forever, because that is ‘God’s Will’. There is absolutely NO chance that the Messianic psychopaths who comprise the mostly hereditary Western ruling elites will accept Russia, China, Iran, India, Brazil, Venezuela or anyone, anywhere, establishing competing power centres. Russia and China must become too powerful to overthrow, but even that will not stop constant subversion, vilification, sanction, blockade and sabotage. ‘Peaceful Co-Existence’ with Uncle Satan is impossible-they only accept subservience. If Russia and China stay stalwart, possibly there is a chance that the ongoing collapse, economically, intellectually, morally and spiritually of the West, will proceed peacefully, but I doubt that a civilization destroying generalised war can be averted. The psychopaths that rule the West are prepared to fight thermo-nuclear war if necessary to protect their semi-divine status. In any case, if the ecological crisis of crises isn’t addressed soon, we are all stuffed in any case.
