First, the obligatory map of the day:
Now I need to make a note about maps, as some clearly struggle with the concept. Okay, first, a map is NOT a faithful representation of reality. But it is just that, a REPRESENTATION. Which means that depending on the author of the map and the intended public, two different maps representing the same situation on the ground can look very different.
That, my friends, is *normal*.
When preparing a map, the first thing you need to ask yourself is what is your goal. A military map will typically be more accurate, but it will be confusing to most people. Now a “what happened today” like the one above does not have any other purpose than to give you, the non-specialized reader, an idea, a feeling for what is going on.
Check out this map for example:
And, finally, please check this Western map (which I already posted yesterday):
These three maps do not contradict each other, at least not in a significant way or, should I maybe say, not in a significant way for you. The top one is the “general trend”, the middle focuses on Ukie positions while the third one is a projection of kind of territory the Russians are likely to want to control, they are, therefore, Russian forward subunits are quite likely already roaming most of what this maps shows in red.
The top map shows the cauldron in the eastern Ukraine
The second map also shows it, but does not show it at fully locked, instead, it shows the main axis of advance of the Russian/LDNR froces
And the third map has already “buried” the huge Ukie operational forces in the east, because in the mind of its author, that force is done, spent and basically gone.
It just so happens that today I got the confirmation that the last road leading out from the eastern Donbass towards the direction of Dnipropetrovsk (aka “Dniepr”) is now closed by Russian armor. No, NOT by Russian artillery and close air support like for the past week or so, that is what is called “closed by fire”, but close like we imagine it, two armored columns moving towards each other, soldiers coming out, hugging, etc.
So while the reality on the ground is one and the same, the maps show/stress different things.
I also hasten to add that the 2nd map, from this excellent website, has the following pinned message, in bold and red. Here is a machine translation: (emphasis added!)
ATTENTION! Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law criminalizing false information about the Russian Armed Forces (AF). In connection with the foregoing, I bring to your attention that: 1. The purpose of the blog for the duration of the special military operation of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation on the territory of Ukraine is information and moral support for the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, as well as the troops of the People’s Militia of the DPR and LPR. 2. To create the maps published on this blog, information is taken only from open sources, including official communications from the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, as well as official bodies of the DPR and LPR. 3. Data on the points of deployment, composition, organizational structure, command, its plans and decisions, the tasks of the troops, the level of their training, routes of movement, the timing of operations and hostilities, losses of personnel and equipment, as well as any other information, having a closed nature, and / or the publication of which may bring any harm to the actions of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, and the troops of the DPR and LPR, will be immediately deleted, and the persons who published such information will be banned forever, and the data on them will be submitted to the competent authorities. 4. The blog will also immediately remove knowingly false information about the actions of the troops of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, NM DPR and LPR. The authors of comments containing such information will also be permanently banned, and the data on them will be submitted to the competent authorities. 5. In addition, the author of the blog reserves the right to delete comments and ban the accounts of any people who simply do not like him
So, I would submit that it is rather self-evident why the maps coming from that blog, while much more detailed than the “red maps” (which come from this website: https://readovka.news/) in what concerns showing Ukrainian forces and rather very vague about actual Russian position. Well duh! Did you really expect a Russian map to actually give out exactly the positions for the Russian forward echelons?!?!
Instead what we get is various pseudo pro-Russian websites dismissing all the “Russian propaganda” maps while promoting other, putatively not pro-Russian propaganda, maps. The truth? These websites are run by civilians with exactly no relevant education or experience and their goals are purely financial (clickbaiting) and ideological (serving the interests of the 5th or 6th, depending on the case, columns).
As for the real owners (and masters) of these websites they are, of course, Western PSYOPs. Until just about now, the Western PSYOPs mission was simple “flood the Internet with info showing the Russians have failed, the Ukies are winning, Putin is sobbing and hugging a pillow under his bed“.
If that means declaring that 3000 Russian aircraft have been shot down – no problem.
So, for the first two weeks, the point of maps from the point of view of western PYSOPs was simple. Now that the “map wars” are coming to an end (at least in the mind of those who can read a map), the main theme will change. It won’t be “the heroic Ukie cyborgs destroyed 3 Airborne Divisions” but it will be “drunken Russians bombing a maternity hospital, murdering all the innocent babies and raping nurses” (the more cliches, the “better”).
And, who knows, I would not be surprised if tomorrow’s CNN’s or BBC’s would be “Russian invaders toss all the babies from the incubators in Volnovakha”!
Wait, what? Did we not see that already?
Oh yes, I guess we did, at least the older ones who remember the Gulf War…
You catch my drift :-)
So, the map wars are coming to an end and welcome to the gore wars!

There is another topic I want to mention tonight.
The West, I am talking about BOTH the political leaders of the Empire of Lies AND many MILLIONS of their followers want to, I kid you not, “cancel Russia“. This desire is so sincere that Instagram and Facebook lifted their ban on “hate speech” if that hate is directed at Russians.
I have lived in Europe for about half my life and about half in the USA. I have never seen so much hate, especially so much SPONTANEOUS hate. And for every ONE Roger Waters out there (see Roger Water’s interview for RT and following by the following (Israeli) headlines:Roger Waters Latest Disgraceful Shilling for Russia, Roger Waters Heaps Love on Russia and Assad In Latest Disgraceful Remarks and Roger Waters’ Hypocrisy on Full Display) there 10 Dave Gilmours out there too (and he dares to call himself “Pink Floyd” to boot!).
All that hate is spewed not so much by politicians, though there is plenty of that too, but by corporations. See for see yourself, this is from today’s CNN:
But there is much more. It’s not just the leaders of the Empire of Lies, or their IT giants, it is also millions of individuals and small businesses. Their “noble support” of the Nazi ranges from cancelling “Russian sauces” (à la French fries becoming “Freedom Fries”), to smashing storefronts, to making millions of AK bullets to send to the Ukraine.
The hatred for everything Russia is very palpable if you are Russian and probably just “normal background noise” if you are not. So here is what happened, is happening and will continue for a long time:
The rulers of the Empire told their serfs “hate and lynch everything Russian” and the serfs enthusiastically obeyed.
So remember that great Ukie slogan “the Ukraine is Europe”.
I agree with this slogan. But only because the entire West became one big Ukronazi Banderastan.
Is that “just” human nature?
I don’t think so.
I think that was we are all witnessing is the climax of a genocidal hatred against Russia which dates from at least the Northern Crusades.
And here is the bad news: thousands, tens of thousands, or even more completely innocent Russians will suffer from these persecutions all over Zone A (including many kids, students, artists or athletes). And there is nothing Russia or anybody else can do about it.
But there is also good news. Russians in Zone B will mostly be safe (though the risk of kidnapping and subsequent torture by CIA/DoD gangs is always a possibility!) and, crucially, there is nothing at all that the “Cancel Russia” culture can do to Russia and Russians in Russia other than make them shed their stupid delusions about the West and make them more mature in their understanding of Western PYSOPs.
It is better for Russia to learn the hard way than never to learn.
The West wants to “Cancel Russia”? Okay.
Let’s make sure that this reality gets to every single Russian out there, and then to every single person living in a sovereign country. To those who live in Zone A but not in Russia I will say this:
The Empire of lies does not want to “just” cancel Russia.
It wants to cancel all of Zone B.
It wants to cancel *YOU*.
Think!
Enough for today and, following two weeks of nonstop work, I am taking tomorrow Sunday off (barring some huge development, of course).
Tomorrow, Sunday, is the Day when we celebrate the Triumph of Orthodoxy.
I extend my joyful congratulations to all my fellow Orthodox Christians, may this day give us all courage and hope in the victory of Love, Life and Truth over Hate, Death and Falsehood everywhere!

I have been watching a Fox news clip on youtube about Russian Army approaching the Ukrainean captial. Then I went through the comments; people reaction to the story. I can assure you that the Western propaganda: about Ukraine winning the war, about Ukraine being a democracy, brave Ukrainean soldiers fighting disorganised conscripts stuck in a slow Russian military convoy is falling apart. Most of the commentators know what time it is and are completely supportive of the Russian special operation. This was a big shock to me. Here is the clip. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E9XOyFlMVaA
@Rutamira
The Ziomedia can explain it very easily: There is a Russian troll factory just outside S:t Petersburg. The Russian trolls really stop at nothing to discredit such incorruptible truth-tellers like Fox, CNN, and BBC. Strangely, they still seem able to continue as before long after being revealed, lol.

Zone A = Civilised, beautiful, liberal, peaceful, morally and intellectually superior. Exceptional.
You forgot “white.”
Zone B = Uncivilised, ugly, stone-age thinking, brutal, morally and intellectually repugnant.,/i>
You forgot sand, snow, jungle, mountain…”niggers.”

PS: Dear Moderator, I posted a similar version of this post earlier, and it didn’t go through, it seems. This is a modified version. Thanks.
By that definition, all the U.S. states that voted for Trump twice are Zone B but under occupation by Zone A. For “their own good”, of course.
As for the term “white”, there’s a twist: Zone B whites (Russians, Serbs, U.S. MAGA supporters) are viewed far more unfavorably by the Zone A elites than Zone B nonwhites, as if they’re race-traitors or something. At the very least, they’re viewed as safe targets for Zone A moral panics. This is exactly why they cancel Russia but not China, for example.
of course because zone A “whites” are basically nazis who view zone B “whites” in the same way that Hitler viewed them, i.e. “subhuman slavs”
Gore wars latest news:
Drunken Russian torturing little kittens and puppies just for fun.
This Oklahoman stands with Russia. A Russian flag flies in my front yard.
The impression that “everyone” hates Russia is an artificial creation of the propagandists. It does not reflect reality; do not believe it.
Newspapers reflect the opinion and desires of a single owner, nothing more, nothing less. Articles are written, and events invented and or selected to please the owner’s agenda.
All internet information can be created en-masse and uploaded by dedicated propaganda outfits. Don’t believe it unless you know and trust the source.
Television “News” is synthesised to suit a political agenda, as is all programming. e.g. Every advertisement, every publicity photograph, every drama series you see features mixed race couples, but in real life mixed race couples are a rare observation.
There is no mass hatred, it is an artificial creation which is limited to the small “woke” part of the population who act, (unsuccessfully) as influencers.
The only evidence concerning Russia that I have seen for myself are Red Cross posters inside a business, posted for pr. purposes. Nothing else. The posters did not mention Russia.
God bless Russia.
The United States basically picked up where Germany left off after World War II, treating Russia and the Russian people as sub-humans. Genocide seeks to justify its hatred of a whole people by openly eradicating their humanity, their right to exist, through lying, cheating, two-timing, cold-hearted, mean-spirited, home-wrecking, loser-dom. Hatred hastened without end. The United States’ hatred for all things Russian doesn’t care that the target of their hatred, their blood lust, has nuclear weapons. If I was being chased into oblivion, and I had nuclear weapons, I would press the button. Several times. You can’t love those that hate you.
Can you please pay another focus on Norway NATO exercise. in another point, Poland says, any chemical attack (by west, but claims that Russia do it) can bring NATO. Is it the new plan of west?

Thanks for your work Andrei, and I wish you joy on the Triumph of Orthodoxy.
Just for whatever it’s worth. There’s a considerable number of people in rural Louisiana (fisherman, farmers etc) who are not buying the psyop. They, unlike (eg) “space lawyer” Glenn Reynolds and other regime propagandists, have the good sense to note that the same people that pushed BLM and Covid hysteria are also pushing the Hate Russia/valiant little Ukraine.
God bless.
On the 11th March 2022, RT news published:
Facebook and Instagram to allow calls for violence against Russians
Meta’s social media platforms have eased their hate-speech policies to permit calls for the death of some Russians. So far, the revised rules on violence and incitement will apply only to Ukraine and Poland.
This adds another element of social control to the Ukrainian conflict at a much higher level with the purpose of dominating Russia.
As President Putin stated, the western economic and financial sanctions imposed on Russia in the last few days can be compared to a war against Russia. Its devastation has been enormous, comparable to a nuclear war since many western corporations, banks, exchange procedures, etc. are closing down their businesses in the country. Why are they doing such a drastic move, which seemingly affects their interests?
Michael Hudson suggested recently that the US is self-destroying, and very fast. What he actually means is that the US is in advanced level of decay, already, as the State is in the hands of the large corporations, that is, the US is a corporatocracy. It is as such that the US aspire for global dominance; it is no more as a Nation-State. Russia’s enemy in Ukraine is corporatocracy.
This is the crux of the problem. These large corporations are closing down profitable firms inside Russia because their main interest is to get State control of Russia for free access to its natural resources. It is about this kind of freedom that the large corporations preach. This is not as obvious as it seems. The conflict in Ukraine is not a conflict between States. It is about the Nation-State and the largest corporations in the globe. States must unite against their common enemy.
For many years, a mass regimentalization of Ukrainian society was gradually performed by the US, the UK and NATO, where promoters of corporatocracy are in control. A large number of Ukrainians were programmed and trained. Russia tolerated the intolerable until the time for a reaction was demarcated. They are aware of the dangers. And determined to achieve their goals. Russia will from the threat of corporatocracy. In the process, they may start a global chain reaction against it.
Sorry, typing error above, last paragraph:
Russia will free itself from the threat of corporatocracy. In the process, they may start a global chain reaction against it.
>Now Russia has the evidence of what wat’s going on in the Ukraine since decades: Nazis, Organes-trade,stealing everything and selling such, unpaid Gas-invoices,military Bio-Labs, collaborating with foreign military organisations, selling off the agriculture, breaking democratig law killing own people which want separate their living region and many more. The US präsident is with very dirty fingers, envolved in Ukraines black business to plan having a platform to attack Russia with Nuklear-missiles and mass destruction weapons.
Therefore the action against the Ukrainian Govt. is legally and should be carried out untill its Capitulation or emmigration. No excuse, no excemtion, no regret. The people of Ukraine needs a different kind of real irect-democratic selfadministration without Govt, parties and public administration. No corruption no fears just normal

Kiev claims NATO will defend arms convoys to Ukraine against Russia
A Russian attack on Western arms convoys to Ukraine will allegedly trigger Article 5 of NATO Treaty, Kiev has claimed
“If Russian forces launch an attack on a Western convoy delivering arms to Ukraine, NATO will consider this a reason to invoke Article 5 of the military bloc’s treaty, which assures its members’ collective self-defense, Aleksey Danilov, the secretary of Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council, claimed on Sunday, citing NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg.
“Today, the head of NATO… Mr. Stoltenberg has made a statement: if a single projectile, a single bullet hits a convoy that … [is delivering arms] to Ukraine, [NATO] will consider it a trigger for Article 5 [of the North Atlantic Treaty],” Danilov said while on air on Rada, the Ukrainian parliament’s TV Channel.
Neither NATO nor Stoltenberg personally has made any public statements on Sunday confirming or denying Danilov’s assertion. The Ukrainian official’s statement comes a day after Russia’s Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov warned that Russia would consider arms convoys heading for Ukraine to be “legitimate targets” for Russian forces. Ryabkov has not elaborated on whether the convoys could be targeted on Ukrainian territory or elsewhere…”

Kiev is spewing proganada. Recently Russia hit training camps with western mercenaries and western instructors and stockpiles of ammo near Poland border (about 25km away from border). No World War is happeing now.
Russia can actually attack any military target in Ukraine without any consequences whatsoever.
Whenever I hear about NATO:s supposedly terrific, nay, unimaginably awesome particle-article-five, I would like to make the following very clear:
In the specific case of Ukraine, the call to arms was the Maidan Nazi putsch. This was ”Article 5” in action, period. Now, just like most organizations offering ”benign protection”, NATO/EU don’t employ clueless fools such as Stoltenberg or von der Leyen to reveal any planned crimes and evils beforehand. If convenient/necessary, ”Article 5” can be used as sheer demagoguery to ramp up war fever and scare the targeted countries, peoples, and leaders into capitulation before any real violence is attempted. Confident adversaries have little problem calling the bluff masquerading as ”Article 5”.
Whitewashed and empowered Ukrainian neonazi thugs evaded from the mandatory conscription decree by Zelensky, already bullying European taxpayers, who bear with the cost of their everything for free expenses, in European cities´ supermarkets…

As a proof that this is a war on the peoples of Europe by the managerial class on orders of the AngloSaxons.
It is obvious that these thugs will be used by our own governments against our own people once the people is fed up with the artificially drove inflation, especially unpayable prices of energy even in countries which do not depend on Russian gas, like Spain.
This where my taxes go. Young and healthy thugs staying out of the combat.
The anti Russian bias and hate is revolting, but entirely predictable. The Russian military has invaded Ukraine. What, did they expect palm leaves and Hosannas to the Highest?
@ T J Foster
You’re missing the point. Last time Russia (then the CCCP) invaded a Nazi country, was applauded and celebrated by the West. The hate and aggression we are witnessing now, is a measure of how far to the right the West has moved, how large is the manipulation of the masses, and how deep is their hate for all things Russia.
This time around, the West are the creators of the Nazi threat that corrupted 404, reason they cannot “see” the evidence, out there for everyone to witness. It is clear then that the reason for the reaction, is not the Russian invasion, but the historical context in which Russia is facing the Nazis, again.
Hope that helps.

From the GATEWAY PUNDIT:
It’s Clear the Situation in Ukraine Was Desperate a Week Ago and Is Getting Worse – What Is Zelensky’s Plan?
https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2022/03/clear-situation-ukraine-desperate-video-week-ago-getting-worse-zelensky-hanging/
It’s very normal in warfare exaggerate enemy personal losses. 1:2 and 1:3 is norm. Even 1:4 could be possible. Stalin claimed Axis losses been 4.5 million until early Nov 1941 (real losses at that stage around 1 million). Besides many Ukie losses claimed by RF pilots and they have had during military history the highest overclaiming ratio ( during WW2 ground attack aircraft pilots claimed enemy tanks more than ten times than enemy actually lost).
So if Ukie admitted to have lost 1,300 KIA and RF claimed 13,000 it’s most likely that little bit more than 1,500 UAF etc soldiers have been killed, unknown numbers MIA ( killed, captured, deserting) and around 4,000-5,000 wounded.
13,000 is near the total loss figure (KIA, WIA, MIA) , not just KIA. When it comes to vehicle and heavy weaponry losses RF has likely exaggerated Ukie losses 1:2 ratio and many of those losses abandoned.
I won’t buy the claim of Scott Ritter that Ukie personal military losses have been 6 times higher than those of RF. 2-3 times higher, possible.
Re loses – someone posted a PBS ( war party regimist Media ) detailed map yesterday. It’s showed 6-8 Ukie brigades in the Eastern region. My recollection is the Ukie’s started out with 12-15 Brigades in this region.
That’s (very) roughly a 50% out-of-action rate (KIA,WIA,MIA, and simply gone home)
“For months now the struggle against [Russia] is waged by each Jewish community, at each conference, in all our syndicates, and by each Jew all over the world. There is reason to believe that our part in this struggle has general value. We will trigger a spiritual and material war of all the world against [Russia’s] ambitions to become once again a great nation, to recover lost territories and colonies. But our Jewish interests demand the complete destruction of [Russia]. Collectively and individually, the [Russian] nation is a threat to us Jews.” — Vladimir Jabotinsky (founder of the Jewish terrorist group, Irgun Zvai Leumi) in Mascha Rjetsch, January, 1934 (also quoted in “Histoire de l’Arme’e Allemande” by Jacques Benoist–Mechin, Vol. IV, p. 303).
The religious and racial dimensions of anti-Russian sentiment are too often overlooked.
Yet many of the most fervent Nazis in Ukraine are also Catholic Uniates who regard Orthodox Rus’ as racially and hence religiously inferior, just as some white Jews and Christians have historically regarded black Africans as being cursed for their sins.
Many Catholic Uniates are perfectly willing to initiate a genocidal, even nuclear, war against Orthodox Russians in order to fulfil the Fatima Prophecies.
What is the proper religious response to religiously driven hatred such as this?
Furthermore, in an age of widespread opposition to liberal, “woke” degeneracy, what is the proper response to reactionary sectarianism that seeks to destroy any religion and race other than one’s own?
The Latinate West’s religiously and racially driven hatred for Byzantium is at the root of much of today’s problems.
Ever since the Protestant Reformation, Catholics have had an instinctive inferiority complex to Protestants due to Protestants willingly using capital and usury to give themselves vast wealth and power, so consequently they have been vulnerable to being manipulated by Protestants and adopting Protestant political attitudes. Which included them ultimately adopting Protestantism with the Second Vatican Council in the 1960s. And from what I understand, Ukrainian Catholics actually mutilated their rites earlier than the main church did, in the 1950s.
“Wokeness” is simply Protestantism taken to its logical end and denuded of all Christian beliefs. Think of the Unitarian Universalists.
“The West wants to cancel Russia”
Dear Andrei, welcome to my world!
West intensively wants to cancel Serbia for few decades just the same way as it now tries to cancel Russia for two weeks.
You know why? Because they see us as “small Russians”. So, western Serbofobia is just a branch of huge tree of Russofobia.
And as today we clearly see how West created an anti-Russian weapen out of brotherly people in Ukraine, the very same happened with various Bosniaks, Croats, Montenegers etc. who have been aligneated from their Serbian origin and turned into anti-Serbian hammer.
So I hope that the fact that Russians have obviously carefully prepared themselves to deal with West is thanks to their study of Serbian experience in last 30 years. That makes me at least feel better.
Did Russia really hit the Yavoriv military base on the Polish border?
The Yavoriv military base near Lviv, just 10 km from the Polish border was hit by ballistic missiles this morning. The base is the home of IPSC (international peacekeeping and security centre), used by NATO to train Ukrainian troops. Telegram channels claim that among the 35 killed were NATO soldiers.
BBC claims (like Trump, without providing any evidence) that the base was hit by “Russia”. Wikipedia claims that the the base was hit by “30 rockets”, which seems exaggerated considering that the base is located 1000 km from Russia. If Russia had hit the place, they would most likely used a few air or sea-launched cruise missiles.
A video from the site shows yet another unmistakable Tochka-U crater. Tochkas are effective against underground bunkers and command posts, but once they burrow themselves into the ground, they may leave buildings just 10 meters away undamaged. This is exactly what we see on the video. The impact caused two small fires, but the brick building just 10 meters away did not receive any structural damage. Incidentally, the crater happens to be in exactly the same spot where this geolocated 360 degree photo was taken.
Based on the video, it seems likely that Ukraine fired Tochkas at their own base, killing NATO forces in the hope they it would provoke NATO to launch a world war against Russia. This is exactly the same modus operandi I claimed happened at the Mariupol maternity hospital incident. (See Initial forensic analysis)
Alternatives? Cruise missiles fly in a horizontal trajectory. If they hit something, it is usually the side or wall of a building. If they are smart enough, they are programmed to enter the building through a window. It would be very difficult to create a bunker-busting cruise missile. The warhead would need enormous kinetic energy to penetrate 4 meters of ground. A hypersonic Zirkon would have the energy. But why would Russia send a cruise missile 1000 km away just to dig a hole in the ground?
The only short or medium range ballistic missile in Russia’s arsenal is the ballistic version of the 9K720 Iskander missile. It has a bunker-busting warhead as one option. It’s range is limited by the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty to 500 km. Kiev is 500 km from the base. The nearest plases in Russia over 600 km away. If the weapon used was a Russian 9K720 Iskander missile with a bunker-busting warhead, then it would have to be fired from Belarus.
From Southfront:
On March 13, Russian missiles pounded the Yavorovo military range in Lviv Region. The range is a part of the military facility used in the area by NATO to train Kyiv’s forces in the previous years. The range is the largest in Europe and allows simulation of deployment and offensive of a tank division. The range is used by the U.S., British, and Canadian militaries to train Ukrainian army personnel.
Officially, all NATO instructors had been withdrawn from the country before the conflict began. Most likely, it was mercenaries from NATO countries who came to Ukraine to take part in combat operations against Russia. It is also likely that Kiev is speculating on the deaths of alleged NATO instructors in order to use this as another opportunity to drag the alliance into the Ukrainian conflict
After the start of the Russian military operation, the area became a hub and training center for foreign mercenaries that came to Ukraine.
“Officially, all NATO instructors had been withdrawn from the country before the conflict began.”
I don’t believe this happened. How could they have left when the Russian defensive attack was a surprise to all?
From Russians w/Attitude: (Yes, they really hit them!)
Russian MOD also claims that up to 180 foreign fighters & large amounts of foreign weapon systems were destroyed in the missile strikes against the military base near Lvov
It is a precise estimation. This guy ( an american and rabid russophobe ) https://mobile.twitter.com/nolanwpeterson/status/1503004351975075845
Knows one of the mercenaries that were in the base. The merc says that only 30 of them get out alive of 200 total.
Ok, Russia says they did it. Good!
> But why would Russia send a … missile 1000 km away just to dig a hole in the ground?
To test and demonstrate the accuracy of the Iskander ballistic missile. The point of impact is within 1 meter from where the 360° “street view” image was taken. They must be studying this data very carefully in NATO command bunkers.
I saw one Ukie report that says a “fleet” of Russian fighter-bombers launched missiles at the training center. They used this event to call for air defense. Thus, so far we have versions from many (presumably) Su-34’s bombing the training center, to possible Kaliber or Iskander missiles etc. One “video” from the site I’ve seen shows a gigantic crater in the center which can only be done by Iskander, but I wasn’t able to verify 100% that this video is in fact from the training center as there are a lot of weird fakes and incorrect attributions going around from many destroyed sites.
Check my two links right above, the new video and the old 360° photo on Google Maps. They are exactly the same, within 1 meter of each other.
Well, according to Western perceptions Putin is bluffing. Proving that the khokhly did it for the utter nonsense known as “Article 5”.
On a more serious note, it was of course Russia which took action here. Unlike the khokhly, the Russians know the truth both about NATO’s “Article 5” and the esteem in which this organization holds steppe n****rs and its very own mercenaries too. It involved absolutely no risk whatsoever for Russia to wipe out the buggers.
Hi there,
in reality, here in the west, there are lots of people who have noticed all the hypocrisy showed by media and politicians.
Journalists, university professors, teachers are all losing their jobs just because they have tried to present a different narration; they have tried to recount events from a different point of view, and people perfectly know this fact. But “what is to be done”?
The USA control infos, newspaper, internet… they puke all their lies every day from the TV screen, but that doesn’t just mean that we share their point of view. They are deciding that we must stop studying Russian language and begin studying Ukranian… Do you really think that all the students agree with this silly thing? Oh, come on. We consider Russia as a great country; we always say that she represents the conjunction ring between the East and Europe. We think that your literature is one of the greatest all around the world, and that you are reputable human beings that we admire and respect.
Please, consider this: if I went aronud asking people whether they stand with Putin or Biden, the answer would be: “With Putin!”
So, please, do not mistake us with those ridiculous puppets who very few still call politicians; otherwise you are playing the same game they want us to play.
Regards
I read everywhere that Russian yachts are being confiscated. Can that just happen? A property right is international, right?
Sanctions are not just sanctions. It is massive opportunity for plunder.
But aren’t the sanctions acts of war in their own right as they have not been approved by the UN Security Council? Smacks of yet more exceptionalist “rules based order” bullshit where the west just makes up whatever rules suit it on the day.
Well here it is! The awaited false flat event against Russia. I have just read breaking news that Russia is being blamed for a Phospherous attack on a civilian centre. Apart from the fact Russia has n o chemical or bio weapons the latter confirmed by the OPCW, it’s timely isn’t it, just when the issue of USA bio labs is beginning to take hold around the world. Well, let’s see! It’s probably the work of the Ukranian Nationalists but the truth will never be told here. Let’s see, we’ll either all meet here tomorrow or we’ll be in a bunker.
More “fun” is on the way:

The caption which yahoo.com is now carrying reads as follows:
“USA Today: Russia could be preparing for chemical weapons attack; 35 killed in strike on base near Lviv: Live updates
Now why would Russia stage a chemical weapons attack in Ukraine? The idea defies all reason. Russia has vast possibilities of destroying Ukraine that it has not deployed to date precisely to avoid civilian casualties. These include cyber attack, electromagnetic pulse (EMP) and more intense use of its airpower which has been restrained due to shortage of smart bombs and reluctance to use munitions that might cause greater collateral damage. Given these manifest signs of Russian caution in staging the war, even at the cost of greater casualties among its own troops and slower progress in a campaign that is very time sensitive, one would have to be utterly mad to consider using universally banned chemical weapons. I rest my case: any so-called chemical attack which may be staged in Ukraine in coming days can only be the dirty work of the United States and its agents.”
Yeah, even if you use their flawed logic that “Russia is losing” there are FAR MORE efficient ways that Russia has to inflict mass casualties than chemical weapons. Even if Putin was a stark raving mad, unhinged dictator who was losing his grip and just wanted to genocide people, chemical weapons would still be the LEAST effective method to use. Putin can just carpet bomb everything with a Father of all Bombs, or napalm or many other methods with strategic bombers delivering thousands of unguided bombs over a huge swath of territory. So in short, no possible mental logic could explain the need to use ‘chemical warfare’.
>>>>The Empire of lies does not want to “just” cancel Russia. It wants to cancel all of Zone B. It wants to cancel *YOU*.
Zone B is Saker code for what I prefer to call the “Classical World.” And, the Classical world, for anyone who forgot, are the 4 continents of Africa, Asia, Europe and the Islamic-Arab World. What Putin recently identified as the “Empire of Lies” then is the political situation of the USA of 2021/22, a country that is from Zone A. Zone A i actually the New World a.k.a The twin continents of South & North America.
It can be stated clearly today that the Classical world IN TOTO has grown sick at the Hegemon and his ways and that a time of geo-political pushback by the Classic world against the hegemon entity has begun. My advice to western European countries is to take a good long look at Asia, Africa, the Islamic Arab World, and Russia (Central/East Europa) and decide whose side there are on and say why. As the man said, “Either you are with Us or you are with them.”
*Good definition of “Classic” is found in the book – “THE ABC of reading.” – by Ezra Pound, English Author.
The hatred of all things Russia is carried out by the same types who hate the ‘deplorables’ or the un – vaccinated or muslims etc. The are really just haters of truth. The don’t care about the truth of what happened in Ukraine since the coup. Empire of Lies indeed.
There are tens of millions of us who care about the truth and treating Russia fairly , but are invisible after 6 years of censorship and cancelling. I have been to quite a few countries and Russia 3 times. It was always my favorite to visit – God knows when I will get to visit again.

I read everywhere that Russian yachts are being confiscated. Can that just happen? A property right is international, right?
Property rights international? You’re dealing with plunderers, pirates, pillagers, crooks, thieves, corsairs, you are dealing with the Anglo-Saxons, the descendants of the pirates who pillaged and plundered the world as their primitive accumulation of capital.
You’re dealing with the Empire of Lies (Putin), teaching the Russian oligarchs a lesson, “For us, regardless of your billions, you’re still a snow nigger.” Putin warned them long ago, they insisted in showing off their ill-gained wealth in the corridors of Eurostan, now they are being shown they are still considered untermensch.

Are you sure? The Russian Oligarchs get to be fleeced as well?
I by no means support “Russian oligarchs” (none of whom are truly ‘Russian’ anyway, most of their allegiance goes to Israel first and are dual citizens), but with that said, there is no possible legal framework or mechanism that could legally allow the seizure of their private property. With that said, the one thing the “West” doesn’t understand is that most Russians cheer this on and are happy to see the Oligarchs have their stuff confiscated anyway. Not sure how this is supposed to be a “blow” against Russia when in fact most Russians love to see the “oligarchs” get cut down to size.
Thank you for telling the truth
Andrei, I think the “popular” support for the war against Russia is overstated in western media.
I am on a work assignment in a northwestern city in the US, a city I used to live in; yesterday, I saw two people standing catty-corner at a relatively low volume intersection with homemade looking “F*** Russia / support Ukraine” signs. I was stopped at the light and observed about one in ten cars honking in support. I pulled through and parked and lowered my window and through my rear view window and confirmed my count.
The “hippie-looking” mid-aged woman on my side of the street walked over to my truck and asked me what I was doing; I answered truthfully and asked “did she, or any of her living relatives serve in the military”? “Why did I want to know that” she asked as I noticed her BLM tee-shirt? I mentioned, “it might be relevant when advocating war…I take it the answer is no”? She looked at me blankly and said “you don’t seem Russian”. “I’m not” I replied, “but, I have served in the US Army, read history, can read a map, know a thing or two about logistics and stupid wars”. Then this “hippie-looking” mid-aged woman went into a rage calling me a traitor for holding a view contrary to her media bestowed narrative. I rolled-up my window and merged back into traffic with a raging woman in my mirror.
No Andrei, not everybody in the US is as nutty as our “leaders” but when I see a “hippie-looking” mid-aged woman advocating war I must admit, we have crossed into unknown territory and I am at a loss as to where this trail leads.
If there is one positive development from this Ukraine conflict, it’s that America is being finally exposed for the fascist/Nazi-loving nation that it truly is.
The Americans are not only openly arming and supporting the various neo-Nazi military formations like the Azov Battalion in the Ukraine military but its own fascist and neo-Nazi citizens are flooding to fight alongside Ukrainians as mercenaries.
However, America’s arming of neo-Nazis in the Ukraine has been occurring for several years *before* this Ukraine War by both Barack Obama and Donald Trump, which even the hate mainstream media admitted years ago.

* the lockdown psyop,
* the BLM psyop,
* the election steal psyop,
* the January 6 “muh insurrection” psyop,
* the vaccine mandate psyop,

Besides at the time we weren’t quite as aware how swampy Washington was, or Ukraine for that matter. Trump’s generals even lied to him to keep U.S. troops in Syria when he tried to have them removed. Trump himself had good intentions but because of how and when he grew up — he is a Boomer after all — and the various swamp creatures he had around him, he was clearly ignorant about various things. People made fun of him for constantly hiring and firing cabinet officials, but that’s because so many of them were Deep Staters.

The propaganda I see now here in the Netherlands reminds me of the color revolutions. It is the same approach: offer everyone an opportunity to “do something” and they will feel more committed.
Of course you have the one-sided non-stop news and the outsize attention to the latest accusations coming from Biden or some other Western VIP. The shock – war in Europe – is exploited to appoint the culprit. And of course that is not our side but Putin.
But it goes further: everyone who ever sounded pro-Putin is indignantly asked to admit that he was wrong. People of Russian origin are asked to condemn the “Russian aggression” and denounce Putin. There are calls for more spending on defense and everyone knows why it is needed.
There is a kind of pressure of everyone to “do something”. The EU imposes sanctions. All kinds of organizations show Ukrainian flags. The television has a campaign to collect money to help Ukraine. Schools pay attention. The other day I had a bunch of kids at the door collecting empty bottles carrying deposit for Ukraine. I estimated them 6 years old. One newspaper had an article regretting that some people still got the fuel for their cars at Lukhoil gas stations. For years now there had been several non-profit initiatives in my region to “help Ukraine”. They are now working extra hard.
There are 2.5 million refugees and lots of people are volunteering to house them.
This is the climate where excesses happen like orchestras that don’t play Tchaikovsky or a house owner who tried to get rid of a Russian tenant.
Largely absent are people who take a bit more distance and wonder how this war could have been avoided and what we can do to stop it now.
There are 2.6 million Ukrainian refugees who fled to the safety of Russia.

But I was convinced that Putin was bluffing. Have I been lied to?
Nice to see Russia taking out the sewer animals.
There is only one remaining sin in the West: refusal to conform to the narrative of the moment. FWIW, here is part of an email I received today from a serving member of the U.S. armed forces:
“To add to the fire we have the Russian issue which appears to be polarizing the world into the labor and commodity producers (India, Russia, China, Brazil, Venezuela, parts Africa for however much it counts, Iran, Saudi Arabia off the top of my head) vs the aging, indebted, lazy, insane and self-absorbed western countries who exist on cheap labor, financial system dominance, commodity imports, and most of all…lies and propaganda.”
Saker, When you return after your religious holiday, might you attempt to give as objective an analysis as possible based on whatever intel you are privy to from Russia, Ukrainian or American sources as to the performance of the Ukie fighting forces, particularly compared to the performances they gave during their two campaigns into the Donbas back in 2014 and 2015 when they were roundly beaten by the Donbas republics? I realise that most of the reportage we receive from the Western media is probably just propaganda made from whole cloth, but it is critical to truly know the enemy and whether its capabilities have been notably enhanced by all of the American and Nato weapons and training.
Should Russia have nipped Ukraine’s military development and aspirations earlier in the bud? I understand that all probabilities based on resources, training and motivation should inexorably see Putin’s forces and strategy prevail. But the question will always remain and be relevant in the future if this conflict is not settled finito now. Did the US and Nato give Russia a bigger nut to crack with all of its non-stop meddling and bolstering of the Ukie fighting machine between 2015 and 2022? Would Russia invariably win every computer simulated war with Nato or is Nato a greater threat than imagined? Will a strong performance by the Ukies with Nato’s assistance encourage them keep returning to the battlefield draining Russian resources long term?
I understand that Putin cannot quit this war until he has achieved his four stated goals regarding Crimea, the Donbas, Ukie neutrality and nix on Nato membership, even if he has to pay a higher price than anticipated. But Minsk2 taught the world one essential truth and that is that the Ukies cannot ever be trusted even if they give their word and ink their signature to some document. The same, of course, is true of the United States. Will those two bad actors simply persist in gnawing away at Russia’s Southwest hindquarters regardless of the outcome of this conflict? I can see Ukraine, even as a rump state, bleating to the world through the American media that it is the latest incarnation of poor little Palestine (which is genuinely oppressed), including justified periodic military clashes. How to prevent these guys from becoming such a thorn for ever and all time? Does only a total beat down like Germany and Japan received in WWII permanently “pacify” an enemy? Is pulling one’s punches, as they say Putin is doing now, only self-defeating in the long run? The West is seeing it as only weakness and Ukraine is inhabited largely by treacherous ingrates.
Anyway, the short of it is more info and analysis of the enemy, s’il vous plaît!

A white non-kosher male working for the New York Times is definitely a pervert, or otherwise had kompromat of some sort. NYT would not have ever hired him otherwise.
FWIW, there’s a tight connection between the NYT and the State Department, and the Washington Post with the CIA, enough that the papers may be considered their mouthpieces.
There is further proof of this. This particular gateway pundit article doesn’t provide any. But there are Iranian Telegram channels that purportedly are reporting that this “reporter” was in fact working for CIA in Iraq a year or two ago, gathering intel on Iran and was supposedly a “known” Intel asset. It would explain why Nytimes is rushing to do a face-saving damage control to clear themselves of complicity since the “reporter” was clearly working under fake cover of being a journalist. With that said, it’s all a moot point anyway because he was killed at a Ukrainian checkpoint 5-10km from the nearest Russian forces, and even his compatriot admitted “they” (the people at the checkpoint) started firing at them.

Excellent post, thank you.
You captured very well the proto-fascist/neo-nazi US movement, in its relations with their partners in crime abroad. The pretensions of the Trump supporters/right-wingers in general, of support for Russia, are too little, too late, an exercise in hypocrisy, part of their tendency to go against whatever their partners in crime on the other side of the aisle, the Democrats, do.
Where were these “Russia supporters” hypocrites during the Trump years, when the Azov, Right Sector, S14, and other neo-nazi vermin took control of Ukraine, entrenched their positions around Donbass, with the sole purpose of ethnic cleansing? What was Trump doing, but allowing all these nazi scum to consolidate their power, in exchange for having some “dirt” against Biden? These conservatives “Russia supporters” are only doing the classic “the enemy of my enemy is my friend” BS, their support for Russia has no solid base, and no principles.

I’m continually astounded at how non-Americans are completely oblivious to just how evil the Democrats here really are.
I find it is helpful to select a story about the fighting and read about it in multiple online sources. For example, consider the Ukie army’s shelling of Volnovakha Central Hospital when they retreated. Several details will grab your attention:
• The hospital was shelled with direct fire from tanks that previously used the hospital staff and patients as human shields.
• The Ukie army did this even though hospital staff had fed and treated them.
• This was the work of the Ukie army, not a neonazi unit.
• The soldiers left behind mines to kill and maim the unwary.
• The dead included 2 soldiers in Ukie army uniforms who were killed by their own.
• Indirect fire from Grad MLRS was guided by patients and staff who used cell phones to make calls from upper floors of the hospital.
The last point raises an eyebrow. Here we must recognize that we’re probably reading English translations of Russian sources, and the translations are not always clear. When you go to the trouble to read the original article in Russian, you’ll get a better grasp of the details even with a machine translator. Evidently the MLRS crews were able to geolocate cell phones used to make phone calls. The calls were made from upper floors to get better reception. The callers unwittingly directed fire upon themselves.
In the time you would spend reading multiple stories, you might get a deeper understanding by looking up the same story in multiple sources. Here is an original source of the hospital story in Russian. https://ria.ru/20220313/volnovakha-1777894310.html

Could be, but the truth is this is an arena where many including the Saker days ago, already predicted things could be heading. Saker himself asked people’s opinion on the concept that Russia would split Ukraine down the middle and leave the West to be occupied in the same way that Syria was done. I personally thought this very likely from the get go myself for a variety of reasons such as: 1. much of the western parts of Ukraine around Lyvov are not really significant to Russia in any way, economically etc. The industrial sectors of Ukraine are in the east and the heartland area with the wheat and farms that supply the global supplies of corn/wheat/barley etc are mostly in the south/mid-center/east areas of Ukraine. I’m not sure if the FAR-western part really offers anything, and is not super significant.
2. We have heard ad nauseam that Kiev would take refuge and declare a “govt in exile” in that section anyway, with rumors stating that Lyvov would become the “new capital” of Ukraine after Kiev falls.
3. I simply found it likely that NATO would stage a falseflag which would necessitate their entrance into the western part of Ukraine to turn it into a NATO controlled “no fly zone” as a way to save face and declare a limited no fly zone similar (identical really) to the infamous Al-Tanf zone of Syria. Russia could view this as a very minor and geostrategically irrelevant compromise to be made, given the other reasons above. We know those western regions are the least ethnically Russian also, so what real point is there for Russia to worry about them, particularly if Ukraine is inevitably to be balkanized anyway?
4. Also there appears to be evidence that the Ukrainian announced “mobilization” (i.e. compulsory conscription into military service) is mostly being carried out in the western regions where Ukraine is drawing fairly significant “reserves”. So Russia could theoretically decide it’s not worth it to continue in a bloody war of attrition, slaughtering tens of thousands of fresh, newly conscripted ‘reserves’ who are foolishly defending the far outer reaches of Lyvov, and maybe will stop at a certain point. But this is all just conjecture, none of us truly know what Russian military plannes have decided or will decide.
@ Nightvision on March 13, 2022 · at 6:12 pm EST/EDT
All good points.
I agree with 1 and 2, number 3 is iffy.
Russia will take full advantage of this drive into Ukraine to increase her security vis-a-vis NATO’s new display of force at its border. Under the pretext of not trusting Russia ever again, NATO will fortify Eurostan eastern border into some sort of “Fortress Europe.” IMHO, Russia will determine the future of its occupation against the background of US/NATO’s decisions, negotiations included, and it will be balanced against her promise of not occupying Ukraine.
The analogy with Syria can be done up to a point. Russia got to Syria late, could not dictate any terms but by force of arms, which is different in Ukraine, where Russia owns the joint. Negotiations have been an integral part of the policy of occupation, the goals are clearly defined, and if the Ukies behave, everything will be muy bueno. Strategically, the security drafts Russia presented back in December, continue to be the guide behind her foreign policy.
None or unsatisfactory response from the West, plus other factors, triggered the “Combined Arms Police Action” (Martyanov), and those security issues continue to drive Russia’s foreign policy. I am not sure about Russia allowing an intervention via a false flag or by any other means into Western Ukraine. If the blow to the mercenary center is a message to the West/NATO of Russia’s determination in that sector, I do not believe Russia will permit any real or perceived action by them that would endanger her security, and that would be anything close to her borders, the old and the new ones. It does not mean there couldn’t be a save face arrangement, closely monitored by Russia, that makes space for the establishment of a statelet in Western Ukraine, under the same conditions, disarmament, denazification, no NATO, etc.
Similarly, I believe point number 4 will have to be framed within Russia’s strategic security needs.
The world has changed, we cannot back to be where we were 3 weeks ago, the entire superstructure of international relations has been shaken, it has been a tectonic motion. It will take time for us to adjust our thinking to the new reality, a paradigm shift. We have to learn to see this new reality with an open mind, and a completely new conceptual framework.
Thanks for answering my question, it is always a pleasure to exchange information with you.
Lone Wolf
Yep I pretty much agree with all the above. Only thing I’ll say is about Russia entering Syria “late”, I think one can draw some parallels here as well because it can be argued they entered Ukraine “late” as well to the extent that Ukraine is ten times more heavily militarized now than it was in 2014, having fulfilled an entire regimen of NATO standardization over the past 10 years, which I believe in around 2020 they announced was fully complete–meaning the entire Ukrainian Armed Forces was brought up to NATO interopterability standards. So Russia entered late to the extent that it’s much harder going now. But with that said, the counter arguments to this (i.e. for why it’s better that Russia entered now than before) are:
1. Russia too is way more advanced now than it was in 2014, as its own military was only in the middle of post-2008 “modernizations”
2. Russia now has a major ally in Belarus which in 2014 I believe could not be counted on in such a way. In fact Lukashenko seemed to be quite inhospitable to Putin/Russia in previous years, but a dose of reality hit him when Russia basically saved him during the CIA coup d’etat attempt in 2020-2021, and now it seems he’s been fully brought to heel and understands that Belarus’s destiny lies only with Russia.
3. The proximity of such allies and to Russia’s own borders does nullify the comparison to Syria because unlike Syria where Russia is surrounded by hostile or semi-hostile / backstabbing nations like Turkey, here it’s not as big of an issue to enter the game ‘Late’ when in fact Russia dominates the entire geo-strategic sphere in this entire area, and has relative ease with resupply from its own borders.
But admittedly these arguments are pedantic as I don’t count myself as one of the Putin detractors who thinks Russia should have invaded in 2014. And so I only say Russia “entered late” to the extent that it highlights an additionally impressive achievement to me that Russia is able to enter such conflicts at a later developed stage, when its adversary has already mobilized great forces, reinforcements, fortifications, etc, and Russia is still able to smash through and assert its military dominance to the great dismay of western odds makers, who too squawked for a long time that Russia would spectacularly fail in Syria, and that its tiny base in Khmeimim would be ineffective against the advanced state of western-sponsored ISIS/Al-qaeda conquest of Syria, etc.
Soon we will see the final true emanation of this, as the Donbas cauldron is by far the most militarized and heavily fortified set of defenses, with a vast network of trenches and it will be quite fulfilling to see them crack under the pressure and finally overrun under the coming Russian onslaught that is now collapsing the front as we speak on their flanks.
Excellent article. Agree and so sad to see the lemmings have not learned a thing about how the western government lie and how the msm shills for them. The lemmings gladly hop on board and join the mob. One Christian writer noted that it is because they do not believe in GOD so this becomes their religion. Seems true and boy are they adamant about their religion.
New report by Andrei Martyanov. He has some nice words for Saker in it:
Ukraine and World on March 13
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I1LG8EY26DA&ab_channel=smoothieX12
This looks like a direct threat of WWIII by the White House because a former Nato base in Western Ukraine came under attack from Russian missiles. I would surmise that it was probably a receiving port for the Western arms being delivered to Ukraine. The base was a few miles from the Polish border and the WH rep said this:
“If there is a military attack on NATO territory it would cause the invocation of Article 5, and we would bring the full force of the NATO alliance to bear in responding to it,” he said to CBS News. Russia fired an estimated 30 missiles at the base which lies a mere minutes by car from Poland’s border. “All I will say is that if Russia attacks, fires upon, takes a shot at NATO territory, the NATO alliance would respond to that”.
My read on this is that if a single missile or artillery shell overshoots into Poland, World War III is on. Lord Biden must obviously have so decreed if his man says it’s so. Right? Glad to have the certainty of the world’s fate explained so clearly by our lord and master. No?

No, this is pounding the chest, a macho thing. Behind the pounding, empty head and flat learning curve.
@Realist
”Article 5” is bollocks or, perhaps a better word, cant. It would be slightly less unconvincing if there were any non-criminal side to NATO which is nothing but an assembly of powerful gangsters. Just like a deaf-mute person can’t be an opera singer, NATO’s ’solidarity in the face of foreign aggression’ is beyond its abilities many times over. If NATO could dispense with its superfluous waste, ”Article 5” would have been removed long ago. As we can see, confident adversaries are making fun of ”Article 5” to their hearts’ content.
Dear Saker,
Thank you very much for your great work and for being such a comprehensive source of information.
Regarding the hatred against Russians that’s now in full force, what you are experiencing now is something similar (although at a much larger and more forceful scale right now) than Boers/Afrikaners in South Africa have experienced for decades from people around the world – from West and East; North and South – to this day.
Even on this site there’s much evidence of that under articles from or about South Africa.
Some nations are simply branded as pariahs and written off for all eternity by the citizens of the countries that consider themselves masters of the universe – and the sheeple-citizens always, but always, play along. Hypocrisy rules the day and everyone projects what they are guilt of themselves onto others – it’s all about claiming and demanding UNearned moral superiority. Unfortunately that is the dark side of humanity.
The entire world piled it’s moral superiority – which they never had in the first place – on us (during the 80’s sanctions and before that during the Anglo/ Boer wars) and that never stopped. SO I have sympathy for Russians right now. Just like in Eastern Ukraine our language has been suppressed and removed from public spaces and institutions including universities and worse (equally this information suppressed, not cared about, not important to anyone who back in the day championed years of snactions in the name of anti-apartheid (more race laws today than under the apartheid government, but that’s just fine, no problem, news blackout on that).
Many parallels with Ukraine, although no doubt many people will be outraged at hearing such an equivalence (Boers are much worse than ‘snow-diggers’ …).
It’s sure that they will not take the side of the Boers, no matter the circumstances: pure hatred, no matter Truth. BTW; Russia celebrated 30 years anniversary with good relations with ANC government last week.
What the world needs more than anything else is less hypocracy.
Thank’s for sharing. I had some time to read about South-African history lately and I can feel your pain.
There is a tendency in the media to share opinions on anything even when one has no direct relevant knowledge. The reality is that some business people and some rich utopists have their own agenda and they create scripts in the media to help them rally politicians to start wars either hot wars or economical wars that clear the path for their ambitions to become reality.
Of course this is deception and hypocrisy and the MSM is full of it. Actually the people who use deception have a tactical advantage over the people who expect an honest playing field. The concentration of the press and the media in the hands of the few is one of the worse dangers we face, I would think.
“There is a tendency in the media to share opinions on anything even when one has no direct relevant knowledge”
It seems to come with regurgitating press releases and thinking that you are a journalist. Lots and lots of it about.
It makes me feel really sad to read about the hate crimes against Russian people.
In my area very few people express any hatred of Russians.
We do not know who is Russian. We do not know the nationality of most of the people we see and talk to every day. It seems that many people are a mixture of at least 2 and maybe more nationalities, who can tell?
We do not seem to care.
God forbid anyone should hear the other (true) side of the story:

I too have been taken aback by the vitriolic anti-Russian racism. I call it racism because for several years I have been saying that the anti-Russian rhetoric parallels the racist rhetoric of the real German Nazis against both Jews and Slavs. The last five years in the USA has seen an accumulation of images and messages that a German in the late 1930s would perfectly understand and which have been absorbed into both pop and political culture. Here is one example in graphic form.

And what do Westerners know about Russians. The show SNL had on a consistent Russian character whose portrayal was of Russia as a backward peasant hellhole. Joe Rogan you say (or not). I have seen some of his clips the most vile anti-Russian guests. He repeats every worst cliche about Russia. These things add up over time. That is how propaganda works.

Pressure on Putin begins ‘to have some effect,’ US senior official claims
The pressure on Russia’s President Vladimir Putin is “beginning to have some effect,” as Moscow seems to be inclining towards “real serious negotiations,” US Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Sherman said on Sunday.
Speaking to Fox News, Sherman said that the US has two main goals when it comes to the conflict in Ukraine. First is to support Kiev in every possible way and, as Sherman stressed, $1.2 billion in security assistance, allocated by the US, “is really helping Ukraine to resist.”
The second goal, as the deputy secretary of state emphasized, is “to put enormous pressure on Vladimir Putin” to make him “to get a ceasefire in the first instance, to get humanitarian corridors and to end this invasion.” In Washington’s opinion, Putin single-handedly decided to launch an “unjust, unprovoked war against a sovereign country” – and the US, Sherman said, “can’t let it stand…”

Andrei: I didn’t know anyone was having “map wars” here. Naturally, different maps by different map-makers show different things for different reasons.
My own prior comment about having been misled into thinking Russia had lost ground in Ukraine, however, seemingly indicates that those Readovka maps show different things (over time) for NO apparent reason. Inexplicably, big chunks of formerly Russian-controlled (solid red) territory suddenly disappeared from their map of March 10/11, which alarmed me greatly. (Remember, I’m rooting for Russia!)
I can scarcely read Russian, so it may be that Readovka.news explained the revision on their own website. But here it just looked like a catastrophe had struck.
Incidentally, regarding map#2 — depicting the entirely fictional end-game scenario for Russian “occupation” — the author works for the Atlantic Council, NATO’s own think tank. Having read his accompanying article, I see it as a straw-man argument suggesting “Russia cannot succeed” based solely on a hypothetical scenario that in no way resembles current (or future?) realities.
Best wishes, Andrei. You and this blog are a treasure.
Someone sent a link that contains a provocative video clip from Russian Channel 1. I looked for the original, as I really do not like linking to this crazy site (which does not provide a link to the source video), but I could not find the original show.
It does look interesting, though, as NATO, Lithuania, Estonia, and other countries are shown on the white board. Perhaps a Russian speaker here would like to take a look and explain what the commentators are really saying.
https://halturnerradioshow.com/index.php/en/news-page/world/russian-tv-sets-stage-for-further-invasions-poland-baltics
I wasn’t able to view the video (not to mention “Hal Turner” is a ‘bottom of the barrel’ site) but in general I wouldn’t be surprised if Russian MoD has contingencies to invade various NATO countries upon an actual War breaking out and/or NATO attacking Russia first (such as in the current ‘fly zone’ fiasco that they’re trying to push for). If NATO wages/declares war somehow on Russia then Russia would have no choice but to invade and neutralize the NATO countries, and as such, it is only good practice to develop potential battle plans for such contingencies. After all, NATO has plenty of battle plans for how they would attack and neutralize Russia so it’s only fare.
I got the link to the Russia Channel-1 TV video. Not sure whether this will help you view it. I am using a VPN and have no trouble. Seems someone copied it from the Russian station to post it at this address. The host I think is Dmitry Kiselev.

Hello Andrei:
I attended a Divine Liturgy this morning which of course included a parading of icons before the faithful. Nary a word was spoken about Ukraine or politics of any kind, and for that I am grateful. Still, I prayed for the end of hostilities and a peaceful resolution to the war.

President Biden should have already spoken to the nation asking that Russian citizens and residents be treated with respect and all their rights protected. as all the European leaders should also. It is not only his duty to do so, but this presidential message would alleviate dangerous tensions and decrease the risk of a world war.
“Retreating Ukrainian Battalions Caused Fire, Toxic Fumes at Avdiivka Coke Plant – Source
Retreating militants from Ukrainian far-right nationalist battalions staged a provocation at the Avdiivka Coke and Chemical Plant on Sunday, causing a fire and toxic smoke that is spreading to civilian areas, a source in the Russian Defense Ministry told Sputnik.
“On March 13, the retreating militants of the nationalist battalions carried out sabotage at the Avdiivka coke plant in the Donetsk region,” the source said.
This provocation resulted in a fire at the chemical facility and toxic smoke is now spreading to adjacent settlements, the source added.
“Due to the ongoing hostilities, it is impossible to extinguish the fire,” the source told Sputnik.”

I agree an study of the timing issue is important, and would need to be reexamined in detail later on by historians, once the dust has settled. In the meantime, it is a slippery slope, if you just take a look at Russia/Germany WWII. Early/late are relative to a number of factors, and in the case of Russia, weapons development a cardinal one in the last twenty years. Russia’s giant leap in modern weaponry has given her full-spectrum dominance and a strategic edge over her adversaries, present and future. Even when 404 was trained to modern NATO standards, and armed to the teeth, the strategic gap between the two models can be seen on the battlefield as we speak.
I share your admiration for Russia’s achievements in Ukraine, again, the timing issue would have to be bagged for now. Paraphrasing Tolkien’s Gandalf answer to Frodo Baggins, who accused him of being late we could say that, “The Russian Army is never late. Nor is it early; it arrives precisely when it means to.”
I am also looking forward to the news covering the dismantling of the nazis’ Donbass defenses. What do the Russians/LDNR have planned to crack them, remains to be seen. Their options are limited given these nazi scum cowards built their bunkers smacked in the middle of urban settlements, or next to inhabited areas. Martyanov has a video on his blog showing the concrete bunkers nazis built, and they are extremely well made…right in the backyard of a house. I am afraid Mariupol is going to be a blood bath for the Russian army/LDNR, these nazis are treacherous.
Sun Tzu counsels to allow a corridor for any army in siege, otherwise taking over a city is costly given the defenders would fight for their lives with double determination. In this case, however, the sacrifice is imposed by the circumstances.

Not only that, but the fortifications in Donbas are so deeply entrenched and intricate that some of the trenches can actually be seen from space, on satellite photos. Most people don’t actually understand how heavily fortified and entrenched Ukrainian troops are west of Donetsk. I constantly see people here ask how it’s possible that LDNR forces still haven’t moved much west of Donetsk and stormed the Ukrainians. They must imagine (I don’t blame them, as they have no idea) that Ukrainian forces are quite conventionally situated in open tents and large troop gatherings in forest clearings or something to that extent. No–the Ukie forces have dug in literally hundreds of miles of DEEP TRENCHES and bunkers along THE ENTIRE LOC (line of contact). We are talking about trench warfare the likes of which hasn’t been seen since WW2 / WW1. They are incredibly deeply dug in including their tanks and artillery which are stationed below ground level with canopies above them with only the turret raised enough to fire. It is extremely difficult to extricate such an entrenched and experienced force without suffering tremendous casualties akin to the infamously blind “no man’s land” stormings of WW1 where troops were mowed down by the thousands just trying to storm across a 50 meter stretch of land, etc.
So it will be extremely difficult to extricate them as I said. It will only happen when the flanks are collapsed on them from the north and south to the point where increasing pressure is successively added, relieving the pressure from the ‘front’ (LDNR troops at west Donetsk). I foresee that as the flanks continue to collapse (as they are doing now north of Volnovakha, and south of Izyum), little by little Ukrainian forces will continue withdrawing to new lines further back, and these lines will not be as fortified (not enough time to create such vast trench systems) and will be much more easily cracked. Some of the most hardened and radical will remain in the trenches and bunkers and those will eventually be surrounded completed, but I’d say we’re still a few weeks away from this actualizing.
Some questions:
If Russia, per negotiations, were to concede western Ukraine (Lviv), would she allow the West to continue supplying its proxies via a NATO-protected enclave in Lviv?
Also, what about the status of Odessa and Nikolaev in relation to Transnistria?
Finally, what if Finland and/or the Baltic states were to agree to station nuclear-capable missiles? Would Russia preempt such a scenario by responding just as she did in Ukraine?
Long time Russophile and slavophile here.
The bombing of Serbia was how I woke up to this liberal Nazi mentality. We had the same hateslavfest then too. I had correspondents there who told me their apartments were up in flames, while talking heads here were claiming surgical strikes. Used to attend Holy Trinity Orthodox church…a capella singing, icons, devout simple people. Jesus prayer of the simple starets. This Christianity for me was closer to my heart than anything else.
People in the West cannot hate their real tormentors so they kick the target they are told to kick by their masters. Lynch mob mentality. Read the saints and pray for all the people there and for all the sick and for the churches. May the war end soon and justly.

Yesterday, Zelensky asked for sanctions to be much strengthened now (for Russian ships not to be accepted in ports, etc.). Yesterday, a Russian negotiator said they were close to a deal. Wendy Sherman said that the sanctions and pressure were making Putin back down in some ways. It must be helpful to Putin to know how the other side is interpreting him. Zelensky looks ready to actually say he won the war (sort of like the boxer who everyone said would be KOed but who lasted the 12 rounds, and the judges’ decision was even disputed by many?).
The capacity of the West to be objective has disappeared a long time ago. Influenced by mass media, people without knowledge, friends, family, bought politicians, etc. Where were all those millions protesting against the bombing of Libya, Syria, invading Iraq, Afghanistan, bombing Serbia, etc.? The meaningful conversation was lost. Now it will take a huge effort to find it out again.

Much of the media says – matter-of-factly – the intelligence service “accurately” predicted the Russian February 24 attack. Only the other side, or Putin, knows whether it predicted or provoked it, or how much it predicted it and how much it provoked it, or if it had any effect on their decision to attack. It’s an attack against the intelligence to call it “accurate prediction.” It cannot stand as a prediction. (You don’t predict things like that.)
