Dear friends,
To my never-ending amazement, our community is still growing, and I don’t mean the number of pages served by this blog (which peaked at over 3 million and is now tapering off at somewhere over 2) since that kind of numbers really don’t mean much. And neither do I mean the other six Saker blogs. This time around, something new happened: a website created by a member of our community and for our community. Let me explain how this happened.
As you know, I have never accepted any advertisements, commercials or obnoxious pop-ups. On principle. Could have. I get offers from various vendors and organizations on a weekly basis, but I never accepted them just because commercial goals simply do not fit into my values (this is also why I never had paywalls or any other “subscription only” features). However, there was something which kept bothering me – there were some good people inside our community who sometimes had something to offer: be it goods (such as books) or services. But there was no good place to put those kinds of offers. For a while we tossed around the idea of a separate page for such offers, but that did not work out, and neither did I have the energy to deal with it. The good thing is that I did not have to – just like the other six Saker blogs, a community website spontaneously self-organized without me having anything at all to do with it!
So here it is, the “official” Saker Community website: https://saker.community/
The person who is in charge of it is Amarynth, to whom I want to express my deepest thanks! Not only did she create a space for members of our community who want to make something known to the rest of our community, she went much further than that and created a full website, including even a forum! I won’t describe it all here, she has done so herself in the official announcement in the “Community Cooperative” section below. Check it out for yourself :-)
What I will repeat once more this that, just like all the other Saker blogs, the “Saker Community” is a fully independent entity. It has full editorial freedom and I have no say in what it does or how it operates. Neither do I want to because experience has taught me that control and micro-management is stifling whereas spontaneous self-organization is the most viable and successful way to built a community.
The “Movable Feast Cafe” is an integral part of this blog, and it stays here. The Saker Community website is not destined to replace it, but to offer something new and very different. In our community, we don’t compete, we diversify. The “Community Cooperative” section, however, will soon disappear from this page and be replaced by links to the Saker Community website.
I hope that you will check out the new website, play around with it, see what you like (or not!) and help it grow. Essentially, it is here for you. Please use it.

there should be a blog for spontaneous threads/comments by anyone/members who want to start one and comment too….
for eg..I have wanted to comment on the DPRK/Trumps talks for a few days now and there is no opportunity on the Vineyard to do so.
I would comment on the UNZ but I dont like that site.
the Saker is the only sight I find reasonable enough to try to post a comment on. I think it is important to say that Kim and the DPRK look ready to bend down and roll over, to give Trump/USA all they want with the DPRK. also who got Kim ready to commit suicide..Russia, China or both?
so is there a Saker family blog that accepts such participation?

Wow, I really like the initial vibe I get of the new community website. Great signal to noise ratio, and it is just encouraging to see the content there. I have come to realize it is pointless to try to change the system (in order to change it, you must first become a part of it, with eventual assimilation or nihilism the likely result), the way forward is to create a new system. Gives me optimism for creating a new system for real human beings. :)

not so keen on the new format, also i remain if doubt of dr jeremy’s therapist credentials despite amarynth endorsement ..ie. the intro does not state what he might be the doctor of and where from is he practicing.
in all: i do not know who amarynth is and i do not know who dr jeremy is. will it be revealed to one upon registeringbas client?

No, there are no revelations. What you see is what you get – we’re transparent. Registration just allows you to participate if you would like. I am The Saker’s Assistant and work and volunteer for him and have done so for well over a year now. Regulars on thesaker.is know me.

I hope you will do so in not too long i.e. provide credential details for dr jeremy who claims “the poor chap likely got his cancer of saliva glands via his mercury containing tooth filling” …
he also quite judgementally remarked that “people go to their doctors once they are sick”:…. well yes, that’s ringt. one does not go to their GP on assumption they are developing some deseas.. those cases are usually promptly presceibed some anti depressants.
in the meantime, according to my best sense, dr jeremy gives off an impression of one aspirational individual merely, far from acomplished practitioner.
so yes, your stating this gentleman’s credentials along with his full name and surname, also location of his practice would be most appreciated.

Being one with the long gone value set of the American Republic (which is also long gone), and being of a certain age, I often disagree with Saker’s agenda and implied values – as his value set and mine cannot coincide except in some cases, For example, I do not attempt to stop the Empire’s war on Russia. Rather, I believe it must continue. In the resolution of that conflict whatever’s left of the American (not Imperial) State ), maybe only a small area, may emerge from the iron heel of Empire. Americans cannot cast off the subjugation, but it can end at Russian hands, and it is doing that.
In this case Saker’s implied value set and mine coincide.
