From the Russian Mod: “Thanks to unprecedented measures taken by the leadership of the Russian Federation, with the active participation of representatives of the United Nations and the International Committee of the Red Cross, humanitarian operation to evacuate civilians from Azovstal plant is now complete.”
There still are rumors of high level military in the plant but humanitarian corridors are closed. A group of reportedly about 1,000 soldiers walked out with white flag. The Russians have taken into custody enough people now to be able to stitch together who else is down there. We wait, with a good level of inquisitiveness, for some perp walks.
From the Field: The settlement of Popasna under full control – this is a Big Deal.
A very important strategic settlement, the capture of which breaks the first, most powerful line of defense of Ukraine in the Donbass. We have the first videos from refugees detailing their struggle: https://t.me/intelslava/28203
Take a look at this map and it should not be hard to understand why this is a Big Deal.
Snake Island 🐍 near Odessa: not even a little help from our ‘NATO colleagues’ could save the snake and the Russian Mod reports 💥 Near Zmeinyi Island (https://t.me/mod_russia_en/1398) the following have been shot down in the air: 1 Ukrainian Su-24 bomber, 1 Su-27 fighter jet, 3 Mi-8 helicopters with paratroopers and 2 Bayraktar-TB2 UAV. The Ukrainian amphibious assault boat Stanislav has also been destroyed. This is a Big Deal.
A series of Warnings from the Russian Mod:
On the occasion of the 77th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War and the many military parades, we can expect Ukie action.
⚠️ Ukrainian armed formations have mined the dam of Kurakhovskaya thermal power plant reservoir (https://t.me/mod_russia_en/1403) in Pokrovskiy district of the Donetsk People’s Republic, which the nationalists plan to blow up, blaming “allegedly advancing units of the Russian troops”.
⚠️ The Kiev regime carried out yet another sophisticated actionIn Seversk and Serebryanka settlements of the Donetsk People’s Republic (https://t.me/mod_russia_en/1402) to discredit the Russian Armed Forces before the world community. During the provocation, fighters of nationalist battalions dressed in Russian uniforms and driving armoured vehicles with “Z” sign fired on private houses, forcibly took valuables and personal vehicles from people, and physically assaulted civilians who showed the slightest resistance.
Yesterday was a catastrophic day for the Zelensky regime forces:
►Disaster at Snake Island
►Popasnaya lost to the RF
►Azovstal civilian hostages freed
So now Zelensky wants to go all Samson on his own country—with chemicals.
Bastard. Simple as that: Bastard. https://t.co/L9z5DbosUP
— Gonzalo Lira (@GonzaloLira1968) May 8, 2022
Nevertheless, plans and rehearsals for the parades are ongoing: Dress rehearsal (https://t.me/mod_russia_en/1376) of a military parade was held in Moscow.
Intel Slava Z has the minute details for today, as well as Readovka.
The captured Chief of Staff of the Ukraine has this to say: “Ukraine could make concessions in order to end the conflict, the main points are a regime without NATO and a guarantee of non-aggression,” Colonel Dmitry Kormyankov, captive chief of staff of the 36th Marine Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
And is this a signal or was Pyotr Tolstoy just musing about the Polish border?:
“Russia’s military operation in Ukraine won’t end until the country is “completely denazified and demilitarized, so that it no longer poses a threat to the Russian Federation and cannot be transformed into an anti-Russia, as the West has tried to do in the past 30 years,” says (https://www.repubblica.it/esteri/2022/05/03/news/russia_intervista_pjotr_tolstoj-348021441/) deputy speaker of Russian parliament Pyotr Tolstoy.
“I think we will stop once we reach the border with Poland,” added the lawmaker, who is also the great-great-grandson of acclaimed Russian writer Leo Tolstoy.
The collective west supplies Rubbish!
Becoming more clear now is that the countries of the North Atlantic Alliance are using the conflict in Ukraine in order to get rid of obsolete and decommissioned weapons. Rubbish is being brought to the Ukraine, and then the Russians destroy it. This is now obvious. The disgusting quality of the Javelin anti-tank missile systems (ATGM) supplied by the United States and the Swedish-British portable anti-tank guided missiles NLAW were recently reported by a prisoner – a former soldier of the Ukrainian army.
Vadim Zholko, a soldier of the Armed Forces of Ukraine: “Their Javelin and NLAW grenade launchers, which were very much advertised, showed themselves in practice as they really were. There were misfires. They usually shoot one out of four, ”said the prisoner. The fired projectiles explode at fifty meters before reaching the target, or do not work at all. “That is, there were many of those whose batteries were expired,” the prisoner of war shared his impression of what he saw. The man complained that the training at the training grounds was mainly theoretical – “they showed it in a fast way.” Why misfires regularly occur was not explained to recruits. The reason became clear during the fighting – most of the batches of weapons had an expired shelf life. Cheaper NLAW complexes also turned out to be far from perfect.
Bloomberg reported that Kyiv is losing a week-long supply of weapons every day.
This all indicates that we will see more fighting in spots, but then, seemingly, it will all fall down and the Ukrainian forces will simply stop firing.
The information war is not neglected by Russia, although they fumble. On Friday, the permanent Russian staff to the UN held an informational meeting (Arria Formula) for the UN Security Council. It was not Hollywood (Nebenzya is a serious man, but he is not an actor!). It was heart-wrenching. The outcome is that the UN Security Council could do no less, they were unable to maneuver out of this one and had to agree to a statement to search for a peaceful solution. Even with the United States holding the chairmanship this month, this united action could not be forestalled. As the cauldrons tighten around the fighting Ukrainians, so the cauldrons are tightening around the actions of the very small united west.
This is the presentation: https://media.un.org/en/asset/k1p/k1pvngjn8e
Is this worth anything? Yes, because these countries now cannot say they did not know. This is the list of 15 countries. Hold them to account!
From ANNA NEWS:

APU wants to defend Slavyansk in the cauldron ALL SUMMER! In the battles for Snake Island, Ukraine suffered monstrous losses. Reports from the front on May 9
Over the past two days, eight attack “Bayraktars” were shot down in the air, and a total of 29 Ukrainian UAVs. A MiG-29 aircraft of the Ukrainian Air Force was shot down over the city of Severodonetsk today.
The information that the area of the Liptsy settlement (Kharkiv region) was occupied by the Armed Forces of Ukraine or moved into the “gray zone”, as previously reported, is not true. The village and its environs are under the control of the Russian army.
Over the past two days, the Kyiv regime has made several desperate attempts to land air and sea assault on Zmeiny Island, in the area of which 4 combat aircraft and 4 helicopters were shot down over the same period. And today, after the Onyx attacks on Chervonoglinskoye, the Ukrainian “dryers” turned around halfway to the island. From the jump site in Izmail, the aircraft of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were transferred to the north.
Two new rocket hits are reported on the bridge in Zatoka.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine created two fortresses from Kramatorsk and Slavyansk based on the experience of Mariupol, 15 thousand soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and 300 units of heavy weapons are stationed in the cities. The distance between the cities makes it possible to link them in a single chain, constructing a single fortified area, which should not allow the Russian army to surround the cities separately. Over the past month, a large amount of ammunition and food has been brought to the cities, which will allow them to maintain an all-round defense for several months.
A few days ago in Azovstal there was an exchange of products for civilians-hostages. This became known from our marines – they saw how UN representatives handed over food to the Azov militants. A swarm of drones is constantly hanging over the industrial zone, air strikes are being carried out pointwise, ours are also working at heights. A blow was dealt to the water supply system of Azovstal, although even without this, the militants have had problems with water for a long time.
“The United States has already spent seven years of stocks of Javelin anti-tank systems in Ukraine. We simply do not have stocks at the present time to make up for what we spent in Ukraine,” US Congressman Mike Gallagher.
Breaking Now Kinzhal Strike on Odessa:
From Intel Slava:
As many as three “Daggers” hypersonic missile were fired at Odessa on a “tourist site”
We give a hint: the tourist site was probably called “Apartments by the Sea”, and foreign operators of M777 howitzers were stationed there, which were planned to be transferred to the south of the region in order to hit the Snake Island
and from Operation Z: Military commissars of the Russian Spring
Hypersonic “Daggers” hit targets in Odessa, – Operational Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine “South”.
Three Kinzhal missiles were fired by the Tu-22 missile carrier. There are hits on objects.
Destroyed 5 buildings, two people in the hospital.

The “hyper-what” stocks are getting depleted, though, and old bombs are being used now for that reason. That’s what I read today. However, even if true (they are replacing them and increasing their number!), is it a problem? In Syria, they were using old Soviet bombs too, but they had a software in the planes with which the old bombs had a precision similar to cruise missiles, landing with a margin of error of 3 or 4 meters, something amazing.
We could become friends quickly, but for this war. We like Russians in the USA, especially the youth does. Today the NYT has a front-page article about how Russian school children are being bullied in Europe (true?). None of that happens in the USA. Due to the Russian presence in movies, TV and entertainment, Russian people are more like stars here, the new “character”, and the Russian accent is “cool” in schools now as it was before (yeah).
Seems The Knights Of Nee, aka, The International Brigade had a major accident at an Odessa Tourist Centre. Holidays just aren’t what they are made out to be. Trip Advisor…..hmm, Skip Advisor more like it.

Just from what I’m reading, gonna be lots to cover in the next sitrep, Russian MOD lit up Odessa today.

One has to ask why financial and military pygmies such as the UK and France are still permanent members of the UN security council. These two should be booted off ASAP with the US to follow next year after the culmination of US financial crash in a couple of months time. Has beens have no place on the security council whether permanently or temporarily especially as the security council shall soon be involved in special renditioning of many of the government and military figures from these terrorist states to bring them to trial for their crimes against all of humanity these last 80 years.
What ever happened to nightvisio? Any guesses?
(some good SitRep):

Overview of the situation on the front line. Prospects and tactics of actions
1. Combat operations in the direction of Krasny Liman, in the settlement Popasnaya and in other areas confirm that the enemy has begun to run out of time – they do not have time to dig in, so they throw meat in the fields, withdrawing the main forces to the cities. Prepare for urban battles, build fortresses in cities. This is bad, but there is a double story here: we can not take cities, but block them, preventing them from moving logistically. In addition to the railway to Kharkov, the enemy still has a railway to Kramatorsk. So let them sit in the cities. Let’s start to control more territories.
2. The conflict is long-term. We can dig in, block the cities. They won’t be able to stay in the cities for long if we cut the logistics. They will try to counterattack. You need to pull them out and beat them in the opposite direction. For us, this is good. The fact that they now do not have time to dig in and build those defensive complexes that were in the area of Avdeevka, Maryinka, Lisichansk, the Slavic-Kramatorsk agglomeration is a fact.
3. It is necessary to squeeze out from (from under) Donetsk, Lugansk, to align the line with the occupation of the remaining part of the territories of Zaporozhye. It is necessary to bypass Nikolaev with access to Transnistria. Work in the fields, taking small settlements. Roughly speaking, to work in the corridor of solutions. Strongly defend the corridor, wait until the enemy makes a mistake in order to storm on his shoulders.
4. What is our problem? With high-precision (high-precision weapons – WTO), with strike UAVs that can “fly through the window”. But firepower in the field, we prevail. This means that we need to fortify ourselves in the field, dig in, create fortified areas along the defense line ourselves and wait for the enemy, grind his personnel in counterattacks, and inflict critical losses in manpower. In parallel with this, prepare for further battles, rearm, make, receive, purchase WTO, UAVs, prepare for street battles.
5. There is only one tactic – slowly, squeeze the enemy out of the territory that is critical for us, and act on defense. They are pushing us to take action. In cities, these actions are fraught. Why play by their rules? It is necessary to determine the line that is important for us, to strengthen on it, occupying the territory as much as possible, and wait. Wait and counterattack, grinding the enemy. Counterattack and wait. But prepare for assault.
6. Krivoy Rog is one long street lined with factories. They are preparing a second Mariupol for us there. The same metallurgical plants. What is Dnepropetrovsk? Factories. Zaporozhye has an island in the center of the Dnieper – Khortitsa. You can take the city, but if you blow up the bridges and line up artillery, they will use artillery from the island to hollow out all the attacking groups, bring everything by water – the Dnieper is wide there. Therefore, work from defense is effective, causing maximum damage to manpower. The task is to neutralize 200-300 thousand of the enemy. Then the situation will begin to change.
7. I would already start equipping a sanitary zone (buffer) around Kharkov. There we did not retreat, but left without fighting, because mobilized from Lugansk with three-rulers and helmets of the 1943 model were thrown into the 2nd line, and the assault groups went further under Izyum. Naturally, it is impossible to keep the situation with these forces, it is simply impossible – people are not fired upon. Now the enemy is separated from the border of the Russian Federation by 7 km.
@voenkorKotenok
Poor man’s sitrep, copied from NiqNaq, https://niqnaq.wordpress.com/, originally from South Front:
BEGIN
The Armed Forces of Russia and the LDPR celebrated the Victory Day (May 9) with more victories on front lines in the east of Ukraine.
The most active military developments are taking place around Izyum in the south of Kharkiv Region, in the area of the Severodonetsk-Lysichansk agglomeration in Luhansk Region and in the eastern countryside of Donetsk city in Donetsk Region.
In Kharkiv Region,
Russian forces mostly finished the regrouping around the provincial capital establishing fortified positions in its countryside. According to reports, the regrouping was ongoing amid limited direct clashes with Kyiv’s forces. Most of the fighting there has been taking place in the format of artillery duels. The general situation in the countryside of Kharkiv could be described as prolonged positional battles.
Izyum area
Meanwhile, intense fighting caused by the active offensive actions of the Russian Armed Forces is ongoing in the area south of Izyum. Russian ground units are advancing towards the Barvenkovo-Slavyansk highway amid intense artillery and air strikes on positions of Kyiv’s forces. Clashes have been ongoing in the entire area around Izum. In particular, as of May 9, Russian forces took control of Bolshaya Kamyshevakha. The Kyiv government were forced to involve its free forces in an attempt to contain the Russian advance there and thus took a hit in another sector of the area of operations.
On May 7, Russian-led forces took control of the key of Popanaya and thus created a threat of the encirclement of the entire grouping of Kyiv’s forces in the Severodonetsk-Lysichansk area. Positions of Kyiv’s troops in Zolotoe already found themselves almost cut off from their counterparts in Bahmut and Slavyansk. Now, Russian units and people’s militia of the Donbass have been developing an advance from the area of Popasnaya. Likely, the Kyiv government will try to leave a part of the grouping existing in the Severodonetsk-Lysichansk sector as a cover for its withdrawing troops. Therefore, the Armed Forces of Ukraine will try to cover the reduced section of the front after the encirclement of that part of its grouping becomes a reality. The town of Bahmut will become the next key strongpoint of Kyiv’s troops.
On May 9, Russian air defence means shot down a MiG-29 aircraft of the Ukrainian Air Force over Severodonetsk city.
Also, 3 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicle have been over Novozvanovka, Khartsyzsk and Izyum.
A Ukrainian Tochka-U ballistic missile was intercepted near Ivanovka, Kharkov Region, and 2 Smerch rockets were intercepted near Bolshaya Kamyshevakha and Izyum.
As to Slovyansk and Kramatorsk, the Kyiv leadership will allow radical formations to take civilians there as hostages in an attempt to repeat the Mariupol scenario. Thus, Russian forces will once again need to carry a complex operation to rescue civilians in urban conditions amid intense fighting.
In the north of Donetsk, in the Avdiivka district, DPR units and Russian troops took control of Novoselovka, Verhnetoreckoe, Novobahmutovka and blocked Avdiivka from the northeastern direction. Nonetheless, Kyiv’s forces are still able to keep control of Avdiivka itself using well fortified positions there. This sector will fall with the fall of the rest of Kyiv’s defense to the north of it. In the area of Mariinka, southwest of Donetsk, positional battles are ongoing and the frontline remains stable.
In the Ugledar region, the advancing grouping of Russian and DPR forces achieved a tactical breakthrough encircling Ugledar from the eastern flank also. Now, the fate of this town is predetermined and it will likely be liberated when the Russians intensify operations in the direction to the west of Donetsk.
The frontline remains stable in the directions of Gulyai-Pole, Zaporozhye, as well as near Krivoy Rog and Nikolaev.
In Mariupol, the garrison of Kyiv’s forces that hides in the Azovstal plant and mostly consists of radicals are about to meet its long-expected fate. The lack of resources and Russian advances already forced radicals to release a large number of civilians that were hostages. As the importance of this factors decreases, the chances of Kyiv’s radicals there are about to become zero.
Mariupol
Meanwhile, the Russian Defense Ministry released a fresh report regarding strikes on military targets in Ukraine. The Russian Aerospace Forces carried out strikes with high-precision missiles on 11 areas of manpower and military equipment concentration, 4 company strongpoints, 8 ammunition depots of Ukrainian troops near Konstantinovka, Antonovka, Elizavetovka, Dolina and Lisichansk as well as 2 air target detection radar stations near Kramatorsk and Krestischa.
The Russian military added that, according to the updated information, 6 Mi-8 and Mi-24 helicopters have been destroyed during the night near Artsiz in Odessa Region near the Chervonoglinskoe military airfield by Onyks high-precision missiles from the Bastion coastal missile system. Meanwhile, operational-tactical and army aviation of the Russian Aerospace Force hit 2 strong points and 5 areas of concentration of Kyiv’s manpower and military equipment. On top of this, Russian missile troops and artillery units struck 318 areas of manpower and military equipment concentration. The strikes resulted in the elimination of more than 400 nationalists and up to 48 armoured and motor vehicles.
Some destroyed equipment of Kyiv’s forces
The Russian side says that its forces destroyed 162 Ukrainian aircraft and 124 helicopters, 790 unmanned aerial vehicles, 299 anti-aircraft missile systems, 2,967 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 347 multiple launch rocket systems, 1,432 field artillery and mortars, as well as 2,778 units of special military vehicles during the ongoing operation. The Russian side also revealed details of the recent clashes for Zmeiny Island:
Zmeiny Island
On 7 May, on direct orders from Zelensky, the Ukrainian General Staff, with the direct involvement of advisers from the USA and Britain, planned a major provocation to seize Zmeiny Island. Over the past two days, the Kiev regime has made several desperate attempts to land air and sea assaults on Zmeiny Island, which is important for controlling the northwestern part of the Black Sea. The Ukrainian provocation was thwarted as a result of the competent actions of a Russian Armed Forces unit on the island. The enemy suffered heavy losses. 4 Ukrainian airplanes, including 3 Su-24 and 1 Su-27, 3 Mi-8 helicopters with paratroopers on board, and 1 Mi-24 helicopter have been shot down in the air while repelling the attacks near Zmeiny Island. Within two days, 29 Ukrainian UAVs have been shot down in the air, including 8 Bayraktar TB-2 strike UAVs. Meanwhile, 4 Bayraktar drones have been shot down this afternoon. Also, 3 armoured Ukrainian amphibious assault boats carrying Ukrainian naval personnel were destroyed during an attempted landing on the night of May 8. As a result of Zelensky’s thoughtless provocation, more than 50 Ukrainian saboteurs have been killed at sea and on the coast during the landing and attempts to consolidate on the island. 24 bodies of dead Ukrainian servicemen were left on the shore of Zmeiny Island.
Developments of the recent days demonstrate that the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation have been successfully using their advantage in fire power to eliminate manpower and equipment of Kyiv’s forces in the region of Donbass. In own turn, pro-Kyiv troops are in fact locked in their fortified positions in the region and are unable to organize a fast and successful regrouping and withdrawal in conditions of the Russian advantage in firepower and air power.

“The Russian military has gained near total control of the Donbas region, giving the Kremlin huge leverage in any future talks.” The New York Times (5/10/22)
A news U-turn:
“Despite many stumbles and setbacks, the Russian military has gained near total control of the Donbas region, giving the Kremlin huge leverage.” -NYT
My comment when General and Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin revealed that the intention was to “weaken Russia so that…” was that something like this used to be top secret. You don’t appoint someone to “Secretary of Defense” based on the color of his skin and lie to yourself about it. It ought to be obvious that you don’t play with that position. This can be the result:
“At first, the Western support for Ukraine was mainly designed to defend against the invasion. It is now set on a far grander ambition: to weaken Russia itself. Presented as a common-sense response to Russian aggression, the shift, in fact, amounts to a significant escalation.” -The New York Times (5/11/22)
(You also don’t appoint someone to Supreme Court Justice on the condition of color of skin and gender!)
