On Thursday 10th May 2018, an unprecedented exchange of strikes happened between Israel and Syria. The mainstream media, as well as some “alternative” media like Russia Today, were quick to relay the Israeli army version, according to which the Zionist entity “retaliated” to an “Iranian attack by Revolutionary Guards’ Al-Quds Force” consisting of “twenty rockets” fired at Israeli positions in the occupied Golan, four of which were “intercepted by the Iron Dome” and the others “crashed into Syrian territory”, no damage being recorded in Israel. Israel has reportedly responded to this unprecedented “act of aggression” by a “large-scale operation” that would have destroyed “the entire Iranian infrastructure in Syria”, in order to deter the Islamic Republic from any stray impulse of future strikes.
This narrative takes for granted the postulates, data and myths of the Zionist entity’s propaganda – which imposes permanent military censorship on the Israeli media, exposing any offender to a prison sentence; and reading the international media, one might get the idea that, like American economic sanctions, this censorship is extraterritorial – but none of them can withstand scrutiny.
The aggressor is undoubtedly Israel, who carried out more than a hundred strikes against Syria since the beginning of the conflict. After Duma’s chemical stage attacks, this aggresion intensified with attacks on the Syrian T-4 base on April 9, which killed 7 Iranian Revolutionary Guard. Following the US announcement of withdrawal from the Iran nuclear deal, new Israeli strikes targeted Syrian positions on Tuesday (May 8th) in the southern suburbs of Damascus, and Wednesday (May 9th) in Quneitra, in the south of the country. Undeniably, Syria has only responded to yet another aggression, with a firmness that has shaken Israel and forced it out of the muteness to which it usually confines itself.
The Syrian – and not Iranian – response consisted of more than fifty – and not twenty – rockets against four sensitive Israeli military bases in the occupied Golan, which caused material damage and even casualties according to Al-Manar, Hezbollah’s media. These were not reported by the Israeli press because of the draconian military censorship forbidding mentioning Israel’s initial aggression, more than twenty rockets fired on Israel, the identification of their targets and any hint to the damage inflicted, in order to reassure the population inside and allow the vassal Western capitals to shout their sickening refrain of the sacrosanct-right-of-Israel-to-defend-itself. The Lebanese channel Al-Mayadeen specifically identified the military posts struck: 1/ a military technical and electronic reconnaissance center; 2/ border security and intelligence station 9900; 3/ a military center for electronic jamming; 3/ a military spy center for wireless and wired networks; 4/ a transmission station; 5/ an observatory of precision weapons unit ; 6/ a combat heliport; 7/ the headquarters of the Regional Military Command of Brigade 810; 8/ the command center of the military battalion at Hermon; 9/ winter headquarters of a special alpine unit. And as this channel has reported, even Israeli journalists and analysts have expressed doubts about this unconvincing version according to which these massive strikes, unprecedented since 1974 and therefore unexpected, would have proved harmless. Moreover, as Norman Finkelstein pointed out, nothing has changed for Israel’s wars in Gaza from 2008 to 2014 despite the deployment of the “Iron Dome”, only 5% of the – largely primitive – Hamas rockets being intercepted during “Protective Edge”; and one of the best missile defense specialists, Theodore Postol of MIT, has already revealed the chronic deficiencies of this system. It is unlikely that it was able to cope better with the much more sophisticated Russian, Chinese and Iranian rocket launchers that Syria has.
The success of the Israeli strikes, which, according to Israeli War Minister Avigdor Lieberman, almost destroyed “all of Iran’s infrastructure in Syria”, is largely exaggerated: Russian military officials, whose radars have followed this fight in real time, announced that more than half of the 60 missiles fired by 28 Israeli F-15s and F-16s – as well as 10 ground-to-ground missiles – were intercepted. The Syrian army records 3 dead and 2 wounded, a radar station and ammunition depot destroyed and material damage to Syrian anti-aircraft defense units. The latter have already demonstrated their effectiveness against strikes from Tel Aviv, Washington, London and Paris, unlike the mythical “Iron Dome” whose main role is to reassure the Israeli population.
The very presence of Iranian military bases and / or large Iranian contingents in Syria is a fable: Iran has only a modest presence (essentially composed of military advisers, indeed from the body of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards), unlike Hezbollah or Russia. Robert Fisk points out that “an Israeli statement that the Iranians had missiles in Syria was surely made in concert with the Trump administration”, that the Iranian forces in Syria are “far fewer than the West imagines” and that all Israeli statements should be reported with the utmost circumspection. Any objective reporting on these events should resemble that of Robert Fisk: “The latest overnight Israeli air strikes, supposedly at Iranian forces in Syria after a supposed Iranian rocket attack on Israeli forces in Golan – and it’s important to use the “supposed” and not take all this at face value – must have been known to the Americans in advance.” Indeed, these so-called unexpected attacks had been announced for days by the Israeli army, which had already conducted a so-called “preemptive strike” – rather a provocation – on May 8.
The “red line” that this alleged Iranian presence would pose to Israel is belied by the fact that Tel Aviv has, since the beginning of the conflict, been steadily slowing the progress of the Syrian Arab Army and, using various pretexts (delivery of arms to Hezbollah, response to actual or suspected gunfire from the Golan Heights, etc.), assisting armed terrorist groups in any way possible: weapons, intelligence, airstrikes coordinated with ground offensives, medical care, etc. Israel, the only country in the world that officially does not fear anything (and indeed has nothing to fear) from ISIS, Al-Qaeda and the like, has seen the situation in Syria turn from a dream – see a myriad of terrorist groups tear down the only anti-Israeli Arab regime, back of the Resistance Axis, and bleed Hezbollah – into a nightmare – to face Hezbollah, Syrian and Iran forces more battle-hardened and powerful than ever, and allied with the Palestinian Resistance, Iraq and Yemen, as well as Russia –, is only continuing its destabilizing work under new pretexts, and more directly: Hassan Nasrallah, the Secretary General of Hezbollah, had announced that after the defeat of proxies in Syria, their sponsors could either give up or intervene more and more openly.
Iran, whose opposition to the racist and colonialist project of Israel has been a principle and even a dogma since the triumph of the Islamic Revolution in 1979, is not easily provoked into an ill-thought reaction, and has always preferred to act with patience for long-term objectives – let us remember its restraint after the massacre of Iranian diplomats in Afghanistan in 1998. The goal of Iran is not to carry out a simple reprisal operation to avenge his officers and soldiers deliberately (or accidentally, as was the case in Quneitra in January 2015) killed by Israel, but to work for the complete liberation of Palestine by putting an end to the illegitimate “Zionist regime”, just like the Apartheid regime in South Africa, which, by the way, collapsed after its military defeat in Angola and Namibia against Cuban mulattoes, then viewed with as much racism as Israeli Jewish supremacism considers Arabushim. As Hassan Nasrallah pointed out, Israel’s direct aggression against Iranian forces in Syria is a major turning point in the history of the Israeli-Arab – or rather, Israeli-Arab-Persian – conflict, and Israel must now get ready to confront the Iranian forces directly – whether in Syria, occupied Palestine or even elsewhere. Moreover, when the Iranian missiles enter the scene, they are launched from the territory of the Islamic Republic and with undeniable success, as shown by the strikes against ISIS at Deir-Ez-Zor on June 18, 2017, in retaliation for terrorist attacks in Tehran.
As we can see, the reality cannot be more different from the fable that has been propagated by the majority of the media. “Journalists” who tamely take over Israel’s talking points turn into IDF propaganda outlets and mere agents of Netanyahu’s “diplomacy of lies”. Israel is indeed constantly lying to the world – and, increasingly, to its own people. And when its reckless actions have disastrous repercussions, it publishes hasty and contradictory communiqués in which it presents itself both as a victim and as a hawkish punisher, while also claiming, through Lieberman and via Russia, to have no intention of stepping into an escalation and hoping things will stop there – proclaiming the success of its retaliatory strikes is also a way to say it does not want/need to go any further. The international media contented itself with repeating these statements immediately after the first attacks, without any critical distance. Rational actors like Iran, Syria and Hezbollah – or Russia – are not in such a hurry to speak out and confirm or deny other’s claims, leaving their opponents getting entangled in their lies, and trusting in the primacy of the battlefield that becomes more favorable to them day by day. Moreover, the fact that a bitter setback for Israel, which literally reverses the strategic situation, is transformed into a military success by Zionist and Atlantist propaganda, and combined with Israeli protests of non-belligerency, can only confirm the Resistance Axis in its choices.
Yoav Kish, a member of the Knesset quoted by Al-Manar, stressed that regardless of the author of the strikes and their results – that censorship forbade from mentioning –, it was a major shift in the history of the wars of Israel, which is being attacked from Syria. Indeed, the Golan military installations are now directly targeted as a result of Israeli aggressions, and not just the Israeli air force, which has already seen its finest – the F-16 – be shot down on February 10, 2018. The journalists and Israeli analysts also pointed out the psychological and economic repercussions of this incident, with more than 20,000 Golan settlers having had to hastily find their way back to the shelters in the middle of the night (how much will they be at the next escalation?), and the beginning of the summer period having been ushered in by a wave of hotel reservation deletions due to fears of a war between Israel and Iran. The Zionist entity, which unabashedly inflicts the greatest loss and damage to the Palestinians and its neighbors, is severely shaken by the slightest losses, unbearable for Israeli society.
The accusation against Iran is explained by essential factors (the inherent racism of Israeli society and its Prime Minister, who more willingly believe in a dangerousness of Persian Iran than in that of Arab Syria) and circumstantial – a refusal to assume the consequences of the suicidal policy of the Netanyahu government, which led him to a direct confrontation with the entire Resistance Axis, not to say with Russia. And most importantly, Israel wants to capitalize on Trump’s withdrawal from the Iranian nuclear deal to advance its main obsession, much older than the Syrian crisis, namely Tehran’s ballistic program, which it wants the West to end with, exploiting the perennial nuclear pretext – let us remind that the manufacture, possession and use of nuclear weapons are unlawful in Islam according to Imam Khomeini and Ali Khamenei, supreme authorities in Iran. Netanyahu has made it clear that a war with Iran is inevitable, and that it would be better to happen now than later. Since 2005, he vainly strives for the United States to launch it for him, but no negotiation, sanction or aggression will ever deter Iran from its course. And just as the Israeli strikes on April 9, which were supposed to encourage Washington, London and Paris to conduct severe strikes on Syria, ended in a bitter failure, Israel only worsened its own situation yet again and finds itself alone in the face of the disastrous consequences of its actions, to the extent of the blind arrogance that triggered them.
What about Russia? Netanyahu’s presence in Moscow for the commemoration of the 73rd anniversary of the USSR’s victory against Nazism, and reports that Russia would not deliver the S-300s to Syria, must not mislead us. Russia has invested far too much in Syria to allow anyone – be it Washington, Tel Aviv, Riyadh or Ankara – to reduce its efforts to nothing. Moscow said it would no longer tolerate Western strikes against Syria in case of a new chemical weapons masquerade, and that it is ready to provide Damascus not necessarily with the S-300 anti-aircraft system, but, according to Sergei Lavrov, with “whatever is required to help the Syrian army to deter aggression.” The current Syrian defense systems have already proven their worth – Including the Pantsir, which is much more suited to the needs of the Syrian army –, and allow to envision the day when Israel loses its only advantage, namely the air supremacy – that already was to no avail in 2006 against Hezbollah or 2014 against Gaza –, without which its supposedly “invincible” ragtag army would literally crumble. Israel’s use of ground-to-ground missiles for the first time, and the concentration of attacks on Syrian anti-aircraft defenses – IDF released the video of the destruction of a Pantsir S-1 system, probably inactive – proves that it is well aware of its limitations.
It is obvious that Israeli aggressions against Syria will be increasingly costly, both for the Israeli air force and for its internal military bases and population, because of the determination of Syria and its allies (Hezbollah and Iran) to respond to any aggression, of their experience and new capabilities, and of their successes on the ground. The Resistance Axis – of which Russia is not a part – is now able to face Israel directly on its own, with a united front and without fear of escalation. As for Israel, already overwhelmed by the peaceful demonstrations in Gaza that must culminate on May 15, it is not ready for war against a single member of the Resistance Axis, let alone against several of them simultaneously. The new equation imposed by the Syrian army on May 10 is more fearsome for Israel than the prospect of the loss of another F-16, as Damascus has shown its determination to wage war on enemy territory, and to strike the Zionist entity in its depth.
The Resistance Axis will soon have its eyes fixed on the occupied Golan, that Syria has never given up liberating by armed struggle – a right conferred by international law itself, this territory being recognized as Syrian by all the international community: any Syrian operation there is a legal and legitimate act of resistance against Israel’s 1967 aggression in and subsequent occupation, even without further provocation. As early as May 2013, Hassan Nasrallah announced Hezbollah’s participation in the opening of a new frontline in Golan. In March 2017, the Golan Liberation Brigade was formed by Iraqi Hezbollah, Harakat al-Nujaba, a movement backed by Iran and involved in the liberation of Iraq and Syria from ISIS. Today, Syrian strikes in the occupied Golan unquestionably open up a new chapter in the history of the Israeli-Arab wars, in which Israel will increasingly be forced into a defensive position. Are we going to see the IDF building a wall on the border of the occupied Golan to hinder any future invasion, as is already the case on the Lebanese-Israeli border to prevent Hezbollah’s promised incursion into the Galilee? Anyway, the next war against Israel will drastically change the map of the Middle East.
Good analysis. Too many people have become hysteric with the Isarali bluff, but few realize the facts that are so well presented in this piece.
Its true, Israel is getting weaker and weaker and needs to show force to save face (like its big pet)
Yes the article presents some facts.
There is one thing however I do disagree with Mr Hasan and that is about RT at the beginning of the article where you link one article and compare it to the MSM reporting. RT usually allows various viewpoints in its reporting and did so on this attack – it wasn’t following the Israeli line and its very first articles were these:
https://www.rt.com/news/426300-israel-syria-golan-shelling/
and
https://www.rt.com/news/426302-syria-israel-damascus-rockets/
These articles gave the Syrian and Israeli opinions. There were then 2 further articles based on Syrian Government/Syrian state media with more details on what had been attacked and it was only the 5th article quoting the IDF that you have linked (above in your article). RT followed this with an article from the Russian MOD giving their insights. So I have to disagree – RT is not like the MSM in its reporting of this attack – but has given all sides views/opinions and from these a rounded picture can be given – but also it exposes the disinformation too by the MSM.
Also I wouldn’t quote Reuters as a source on anything Russia – the Kremlin has actually come out with its own statement on this matter of S300 – I would trust that.
Possible, but don’t get cheated.
In Donbas we saw, how silent RT was about the sad tragic killings of civilians by their own Ukrop troups in summer 2014 and on. Not even 1/50th of these unspeakable war crimes have been “reported” by RT.
RT is not much better than controlled opposition.
True, in the West no MSM at all will report as openly as RT does.
But given that it is a Russian channel it could and should do 1000 times more.
And perhaps they should bring less of the tabloid gossip they often “report” to keep readers entertained.
there is definitely a shift in. the wrong direction going on at RT recently
and yes already the Donbas coverage was poor in 2014
but now it seams the critic of Israel at RT is slowing down a lot
@ yesitwasagoodtime
Yes of course, you are 100% correct about RT, I share all your observations. (BTW, on each occasion that RT (being a government outlet, after all) skews some news, it does that somewhat amateurishly – in contrast to the professionally done grand lying and cheating by the seasoned crooked western MSM.)
Most of RT and Sputnik at the moment is junk about sex robots, beauty contests and world cup. Nothing about real geopolitics or critiscising the anglo israelis. RT is staffed by mostly western educated people. Simonyan and Lavrov are not Russian but Armenian ethnically we can call this part of the Armenian school of reaching out and accomodating the west while supporting Russia. etc. Of course its futile, the anglo will always hate Russia even if it was a slave state to them. Problem is that most Russians unlike Anglo are not interested in media careers and many do not speak english. Therefore those in russian media will tend to have a pro western ideology.
Remember the mission and tasks that RT and Sputnik have. They are supposed to compete in the western media environment to try to get some eyeballs to see a Russian produced news service. The western corporate media companies feed a huge amount of tabloid and other silly and distracting fake news out to their citizens. If RT and Sputnik are going to try to attract western eyeballs to their content, this is what they are competing against.
Thus, RT and Sputnik do show a lot of tabloid type stuff. Its what the eyeballs they need to attract are trained and habituated to looking at. RT puts one focus on a UK audience, and they thus compete against tabloids with pictures of naked women on page two. If you think RT and Sputnik run a lot of stories about sexbots, I’d be surprised if their western competition isn’t doing the same.
Neither is supposed to be a journal of strategic studies from a Russian point of view, and its rather unrealistic to expect them to be such a publication.
he is scion of another master-diplomat,Migoyan,known to have conviced the Esquimo to buy his old refrigerator.
Thank you for this very helpful timeline of RT articles. I agree with your assessment of RT, and wish only that it would include such a list on its own, so that the various viewpoints could be more easily exposed and analysed.
In RTs defence, the TV programs are of vastly superior quality than the website. E.g. Lavelle’s show and even just the regular news is very good and very professional!
Problem is noone has time to watch tv nowadays….Many people (like me) go straight to the internet to get the news they want. I agree the RT website is very ordinary. This is where Simonyan needs to focus her energy on next: to get RT.com to the same level as the TV shows..
Serbian girl
I agree with you. I do not agree with other readers, who have given strange and highly suspicious opinions. No, RT does not give articles solely about sex robots, beauty contests and the World Cup, as that is absurd. The website begins by presenting articles on international relations. Two readers have commented about Ukrainian atrocities in the Donbas in 2014 and RT’s “poor” coverage of the same. Strange. I do recall that RT covered all the relevant points of the Donbas conflict. Finally, to state that RT is going “soft” on Israel is again absurd, as it covers all the events that take place.
He probably meant Sputnik more than RT.
The RT and Sputnik smears are standard websayanim smear spam, s.w.a.r.m. at work. Nothing else. As is usual for these psywar critters, they claim the opposite of reality, because reality is against them.
Thanks, A, for debunking that. Both RT and Sputnik covered the zionazi attack better than the author claimed.
The author seems to have something against Russia.
A very interesting article describing one of the high value target that was hit by syrian missiles:
http://www.partiantisioniste.com/en/news/syrian-attack-on-unit-9900-weakens-tel-aviv-intelligence.html
The Syrians/Iranians really hit the jackpot!
Seems like they got some good intel from somewhere (cough)
That is a very good article @ jfb – thank you for posting it – no wonder the Israelis are distracting everyone with their “Iran fired on us” and “we hit an (inactive) pantsir 1” propaganda bullhorn ;). First time I have personally heard about unit 9900. Thanks.
Well done Syrian army. Hopefully the Israelis have got the message this time…..unfortunately like the US they tend to double down.
This article gives a much more understandable view of what probably happened in the past few days, if compared to all available other sources. Should the presented facts be correct (Syria and not Iran sent missiles, on military targets in Golan), it is a very good synthesis of the situation and of the dynamics involved, and gives an explanation of:
– the lack of confirmation by Iran of the supposed Iranian missile strikes
– the Russian apparent passivity
It is in line with the below analysis regarding the Israeli military situation:
http://www.tabletmag.com/jewish-news-and-politics/255811/the-next-israel-hezbollah-war
Israel seems to be losing ground each day passing, and hope is probably increasing in the Gaza camp.
Thanks a lot for this very good work.
I’m afraid things aren’t really as they appear. Don’t you wonder who arms and funds the terrorists? You can be sure TPTB know. Why aren’t they sanctioned?
Perpetual low intensity war is the psyop to control the populace just as in 1984,
This guy sums it up in case you missed it in the Moveable Feast:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=55dxok8fKGA
I managed a couple of minutes then had to can it. This character is clearly operating in a parallel dimension. Not even entertainment value.
It will be very interesting if his predictions come true.
Same was pretty trashy video. I watched a few minutes in, right up until he was slapping his hands together talking about he ‘unstoppable’ military technology of the US and Israel being ‘light years ahead’ of everyone else. I was doubtful when we were ‘gifted’ Alan Jones Infowars clips to view to help him make his point. But when he hit the rubbish about unstoppable military power I realised I was watching someone with too much time to talk and not enough time spent doing any real research.
Poor video with very little to do with the actual piece it is commenting on.
Yes, Thank you. :)
I know only this. The night of the attacks, I was very worried that this was the beginning of a serious war. It still might be, but at that time it seemed that …
1) Netanyahu had timed this for Trump’s announcement.
2) Netanyahu’s government has been openly calling for a war
So, this looked like the opening shots of a war. Scary because there seemed to be no reason for Israel not to continue launching more such attacks, since they seemed to really want a war.
Now they’ve stopped. This article would appear to provide a logical explanation as to why they stopped when a few days ago they seemed to really want to start this war.
It’s a long, smart article, well-resourced.
Both sides ‘craving’ the war no one else wants.
Picture for one moment, this Resistance Axis vs Israeli War, fought within shrapnel-fall onto Russia’s two bases, along the coast with Russia’s new East Mediterranean fleet. I find Putin’s “silence” deafening. Bibi heard the “silence” in Moscow and understands the “meaning” very, very clearly. (Obviously, there was no silence from Putin.)
To factor out Russia and the US (who now has a base inside Israel, as well as an embassy in Jerusalem and the First Family overwhelmingly Jewish by choice, and ideology and political realism; not to mention the hundreds of millions of dollars Adelson will now pump into the mid-term elections for Trump to hold the house majority), is to have blinders over one’s eyes.
The war will become the war neither side wants. Just like a war in North Korea would be a war neither side wants.
Both forces are the secondary militaries of the Levant. The primary forces are Russia and the US. They don’t want a war between one another which could easily occur. So, both sides will dampen the fervor for war in many ways we cannot see, hear or know until later.
Hezbollah has political control of much of Lebanon. It is a new stakeholder in governance, not just defense. It has a nation to govern, not just a sector or neighborhood. As Iran is squeezed with sanctions, funding will be lessened. And the routes for logistical supply to Hezbollah are easily cut by US air strikes, not just IDF missiles.
Israel understands Russia is not going to allow a war to evolve. The two S-400s in place in Syria and probably a third S-400 and/or S-300 that no one but the RF MOD knows are there seem to be a powerful means to control Israel and the US. Though Russian EW and SAM systems could be overwhelmed, that is the prelude, not to a war in the Levant, but WWIII. The toll to the Western Hegemon and Tel Aviv against the Russian systems would be many scores of planes lost, maybe reaching historic numbers in a brief period. The images of those planes destroyed, pilots lost or captured, would play on the cable and Internet networks of the globe. It is not going to happen.
What we saw the other night between Syria (Iran) and Israel is the size and scope of what will play out a few more times. Strikes not war. Counter-strikes not war.
Look at the zone of coverage of the S-400s at Latakia and Tartus. Those are No Fly Zones. Without air superiority, Israel can’t bomb Lebanon into submission. Thus, no war. And Iran and Hezbollah will not launch their 100,000 missiles into Israel to start a war, either. Nor would Russia permit such lunacy.
Israel would use tactical nukes in response.
Talk, threats and delusion is the currency of the ME.
A year ago, Qatar was going to be wiped out by Saudi Arabia. It was hours away. That relatively easy war never happened.
It’s like the Trump-MSB wars the duo pledge to wage. They have no land army to fight them. Missiles, some bombs, yes. But no war without boots on the ground.
The Syrian and Iraqi wars have used up all the proxies for land war.
And now the Russian missile defenses are restricting the air war. In fact, drones and guided bombs have replaced planes as the delivery platforms.
War is coming. But it looks like a very bitter war of economic strangulation, gas and oil hegemony, water and food controls. The Empire has the edge. China will have to rescue Iran and Levant from these tactics.
I agree there will be no war, there will be strikes and counter strikes, sanctions imposed, blockades imposed, blockades broken, there will be bombs dropped, shots fired, people dead, people killing each other, etc – curiously many things that not so long ago were considered acts of war – but no war, never a war.I don’t think it’s humanly possible to have a war by your standards.
On a more serious note, going by your writing here and other comments, it seems you are operating under a Cold War mentality of two ‘superpowers’ and their satellite/vassal nations playing a game of brinkmanship and power-balance in a bi-polar world, I think you’re going to be disappointed – the two superpowers of Cold War era are not as powerful as they were back then and there are no indications the Russian Federation has any plans to operate like the Soviet Union, they favor a multi-polar world not a bi-polar one, they’ve said as much and have acted accordingly.Whether there’s a war with Israel or not, will be decided by Damascus and Hezbollah leadership(Russia would probably take a neutral position here), personally I hope Syria, at a minimum, takes back Golan Heights.
Also it seems you, like Washington, finds Iran to be too defiant, in both cases the problem arises from presuming authority where you have none. And you forget other than China, Iran is also developing ties with India and Turkey, among others.
In this site, there are lot of commentators wanting Russia to save the World from the Empire. But why should Russia bear the burden alone?
No other country is willing to stand along with Russia. Enough Russian blood has been shed to protect the world. Russia has to rebuild itself.
When was the last time Arabs and Muslim Ummah came to help Russia? They aided the Chechen “rebels” to kill Russian soldiers. This is what Russia gets in return. There is no obligation for Russia to ‘save’ any of these traitorous countries .
West is not the answer for Russia. Neither is the south or the Eastern China which will sell anything including its soul for a good price. See its trade and foreign policy with the West.
These are the facts. It doesn’t matter what you beleive. Russia’s salvation lies in its demography, Orthodox Church and its strong Central Government. Nothing else. Not the Ummah, not the chinese , not the gayropa, not the pornographic Americana.
@Judeo-Christian
1. If Russia steps up to challenge and manages it well it will be a new global leader, 1 of a number in a multipolar world. Russia accepted to get involved in Syria, it cannot now say “I am not interested in the rest of the road.”
2. The church is not going to swing it for you, god has other things to do than worry about what Russia wants or thinks.
Isolation from world affairs will not work for Russia, or for any of us. We are all in this together. If war goes nuclear, we will all suffer the consequences. Russia must play it’s role in this global “game” because the stakes are too important for any one to try to bury their head in the sand and ignore what is happening on a global scale. So far Russia shines as the most sane and peace loving player, may they continue on this carefully engaged course!
advice from an American who’s watched his nation go to hell . …. Russia should not want to be the world’s policeman.
I suspect Pres. Putin understands this quite well.
America once understood this too, as referenced in the famous Independence Day speech by J.Q.Adams,
“Wherever the standard of freedom and independence has been or shall be unfurled, there will her heart, her benedictions and her prayers be. But she goes not abroad in search of monsters to destroy. She is the well-wisher to the freedom and independence of all. She is the champion and vindicator only of her own. She will recommend the general cause, by the countenance of her voice, and the benignant sympathy of her example. She well knows that by once enlisting under other banners than her own, were they even the banners of foreign independence, she would involve herself, beyond the power of extrication, in all the wars of interest and intrigue, of individual avarice, envy, and ambition, which assume the colors and usurp the standard of freedom. The fundamental maxims of her policy would insensibly change from liberty to force. The frontlet upon her brows would no longer beam with the ineffable splendor of freedom and independence; but in its stead would soon be substituted an imperial diadem, flashing in false and tarnished lustre the murky radiance of dominion and power. She might become the dictatress of the world: she would be no longer the ruler of her own spirit.”
–John Quincy Adams, Speaker of the US House of Representatives, future US President, on July 4th, 1821

Since I’d vote for America to return to that standard, I cannot claim I wish Pres. Putin to make these mistakes that America has made.
Many people are commenting that the IDF video looks like its a fraud.
There is another possibility, not mention by MoD of Russia, and this is that the Pantsir unit in Israel’s footage was a “honeypot”, a trap packed with sensors planted in the unit itself and around it, in order to decode the laser guiding beam of the missal and the radio signals of the camera feeding these signals to the military satellites above. If this is true than Russia and Syria got a trove of priceless and valuable data following the mindless attack against an air defense unit in plain view and unman, just a siting duck waiting to be struck…And this make me think that the trap theory is the right one… Cheers
That is my belief. Why would such a valuable piece of military equipment would just be standing in the open virtually begging to be blown to bits. I don’t buy it, There was no protection around it, it did not appear to be in a ready position to fight even if it ran out of missles, I do not believe it would run out of missles and bullets – if true in a missle attack it would demand that it seek some prebuilt cover and not stand in the open. A complete fake story to again let Isreal look competent.
How valuable is it? No, its not cheap. I’m not going to buy one for my home, even if they were for sale at the local Army surplus store. But, we aren’t talking the cost of an F-35 or an American aircraft carrier either.
I like the honeypot trap theory above. Have no idea whether its true or not, of course, but its an interesting idea.
Its also possible that it was in the process of being setup, and the Israelis destroyed it before it was operational. In which case, Russia just puts another one on a ship and sends a replacement. I believe the Russian MOD pointed out that not only was it not turned on at the time, but that there were no signs of defensive emplacements for the device as there would have been if it was dug-in and operational.
Another possible trap-scenario would be to put one out there, then watch the Israelis blow it up and exactly how they do it. Then, wait awhile, and put another one out there. Let the Israelis think how silly the Syrians are and laugh as they launch the mission to blow it up as well. But this time there are air defenses nicely positioned to hit the Israeli planes as they launch the attack.
It could be a dummy
Excellent recap! But the ground attack was totally omitted, which is rather poor form. However, the fundamental thrust of the article is correct in its conclusion. The coming Syrian offensive to liberate Daraa and the Jordanian border lands will be quite educational since that’s a precursor to Golan’s liberation.
My problem is the seeming rush, by what should be the “alternative media” like RT, as you alluded to, parroting the lies spewed by Israel about “retaliation”.
Israel strikes Syrian, Iranian and Hezbollah targets in Syria and everyone looks the other way and formulates narratives to justify Israeli aggression.
When the Resistance responds to the initial Israeli act of aggression against them, the media, main and now alternative, make no mention of the fact that this is retaliatory and is in response to initial Israeli aggression.
The act of retalition by the Resistance is not contextualized as a response to Israeli aggression, but as wanton violence against the region’s “only democracy”.
Israel’s response is then inmediately portrayed as justified, and expected “retaliition” to aggression directed against it by terrorists.
Only Israel can retaliate, it seems.
The fact the Israel initiated the hostilities is forgotten or never mentioned.
When Israel strikes you, you are not to respond!
This is the message that has long been broadcast by the MSM, and is now being dutifully followed by RT, Sputnik and others who ought to know better.
RT must know that we dont tune in to hear Zionist propaganda.
What we want is objectivity when covering these stories, not confusion and conflation.
Selah
Israel can’t keep its lies straight.
One day they are talking about 80,000 Iranian troops and massive bases in Syria that threaten Israel. Then they say that a handful of missiles that got through an air-defense that took out a lot of them, “wiped out the entire Iranian infrastructure in Syria.”
At least one of those two statements would appear to be incorrect.
And once you know for a fact that they are lying (as if people didn’t before), then you can’t trust anything they say.
The 80,000 figure related to the total # of individuals believed to have gone through the program. Not the number there at any specific moment, which would be much lower.
Stating that all of the Iranian infrastructure was destroyed seems a bit over the top. There is a difference between damaging something and destroying it. However, Iran is rapidly approaching bankruptcy, so they may not be able to repair if expensive items were wiped out.
No government releases should be taken at face value; Syrian, Russian, Israeli, Iranian, or U.S. I’m hoping that one of the firms with access to civilian satellite imagery will do an independent assessment.
the last sentence – ‘the next war against Israel will drastically change the map of the Middle East – is very exciting.
This is the best news I’ve heard in a long time and its such a great read – the whole aricle is exciting and truthful and to the point.
Thank you so much for your article Sayed Hasan and thanks to Saker for publishing it – it made my day.
There’s a bit of semantics being played with the Iranian presence in Syria. What gets blurred is whether people are talking about official Iranian units or Shia militias who likely get support from Iran but which are not officially Iranian units.
Thus, you see everything between Iran saying they have no forces in Syria, which almost certainly is only referring to official units of the Iranian mliitary, to claims that every Shia militia fighting against a group of radical Sunni fanatics is somehow officially tied to Iran.
In Iraq, the Shia-militias were a significant part of fighting ISIS. But of course, on that side of the magical Sykes-Picot line, they were fighting as US allies and thus were never described as being “Iranian.” Cross the magical Sykes-Picot line into Syria, and suddenly every Shia militia that is fighting ISIS is described as Iranian.
more good news from Ireland – the City Hall in Dublin has raised the Palestinian flag beside their own – in a show of solidarity to Palestine.

On a trip home during the late eighties, the Loyalists were felling trapped. The rascaly Micks were on the march again, as in protesting. Felling the same pressure as the Aparthied State, the Loyalists, claiming kinship with the embattled Apartied State, began raising the pointy star flag in their communities…………..and, well, solidarity being what it is, every single Feinien burg proudly raised the Palistinian flag to fly along side the flag of eternal freedom, the Green White and Gold.
Cheers from the home front.
On the question of the S-300’s to Syria, I believe you have to pay very close attention to the exact words that were spoken. Its hard to tell from a Reuters propaganda link, but I believe that the official spoke in the present tense in saying that “Russia is not supplying”. They also said no negotiations were currently in progress. Or at least that was the English version that I saw, and I don’t know in what language the original statement was made.
And, any ally is going to say that the Syrians have what they need. After all, Russia is not going to encourage Israeli and F-UK-US attacks by openly saying that the Syrians do not have what they need and that their defenses are therefore weak. I feel that part of the statement can be completely discounted because they would never say anything else.
However, in the slippery language of politicians and diplomats, the situation could be as follows, and those statements will be true exactly as spoken. Russia could be telling Syria that “hey, everybody wants the S-300’s right now, so we simply don’t have any available at the moment. But, we’ve added a third shift at the factory and are making them as fast as we can. The system for Syria is already ordered, but we got to wait for the factory to make it. There are no negotiations currently in progress because we agreed in a five minute conversation that we’d be happy to send one.” That scenario would make truthful the present tense statements of “we are not supplying” and “we are not negotiating”.
And that’s just one possibility. The another might be that Russia has already supplied it, but no one is turning it on or letting it be seen until the day it really surprises a set of attacking planes. That situation again does not violate the present tense statements made by the Russian official. A present tense statement does not imply either that it has not already occured in the past nor that it will not occur in the future. And that’s true for both halves of the Russian official’s statement.
Of course, most of the secondary articles on the topic can’t really be trusted in that they distort the original words spoken. Usually to imply that Russia will not provide this in the future. Whereas the Kremlin spokesman commenting on the statement on the first official made it very clear that Russia will provide whatever Syria needs in the future.
It appears that if the world is to be rid of the Zionist Orc Republic, the appearance of a 21st century Hadrian will be necessary.
Antoinetta III
so…Syria and Iran have opened a new front…telling israel you no longer will bomb without consequence.
yet..we know Putin is totally against this.
so..bibi convinces Russia not to deliver s-300 to prevent more bombings and Putin..says ok…we already gave Syria all they need to defend themselves.
i do not understand this logic….maybe everyone else does.
IMO, Mr Putin is not against Syria and Iran (and hezbollah) openning a new front against the zionist incursions. What I understood is that Russia would not get involved. May be Russia is giving them some logistical support…
correct your premses:
You do not know that “putin is totally against this.”
You do not know that “bibi convinced Putin not to provide S-300 to Syria.”
When you base a syllogism on false premises, the conclusion is, by default, erroneous.
Russia is on Russia’s side. Syria has a long-standing ties to Russia including the facilities at Tartus.
As long as Iran is a helpful presence in Syria, Russia will work with them. However, Russia is not part of any ‘Resistance Axis’. Russia values good relations with Israel and is not going to support Iran’s offensive plans against them.
In fact, Syria does have adequate air defenses to protect Syrian and Russian positions. The fact that it is being turned off when Iranian positions are being attacked is a not so subtle message to Iran that they should be going home about now.
I hate to break it to you, but Iran is staying right where it wants to and Is-ra-hell does not have the means to shift her. Russia is no ally of Is-ra-hell –it might not be an enemy (YET) but it is clear just from body language that Putin finds Nutty-yahoo repulsive. (who wouldn’t?) A push is on via online, in print, blogs, etc. to try to convince everyone that Zionists and Russians (IE Leadership) are and have been in a love-fest….when; in fact, every stab at Russian; particularly in the last five years, as come from the blades of Zionists . Every nasty that is targeted against Russia has a Jewish-zionist or a anglo-zionist fingerprint on it.
Russians have long memory!
T0/A123
Yes, Israel constantly tells Syria that they must tell the Iranians to go home.
Note that there was no sign of Syrian air defenses being turned off during this last attack. In fact, just the opposite, as they activated and shot down a fair amount of the Israeli missiles.
The Russian air defenses are up near Tardus and the airbase on the coast, and thus well back from this attack. They are not positioned to defend Damascus and certainly not Syria south of Damascus.
In all of these attacks, Israeli is very careful to stay far away from those Russian air defenses. One account of the attack a few days before was that Israel deliberately flew over Iraq and Jordan to approach from the opposite direction from those air-defenses. Its also been very noticeable that Israel is now respects since the Syrian air defenses and doesn’t even fly into Syrian air space to launch the most recent attacks. This changed when Syria shot down that F-16.
The Syrian systems are shorter range systems, in general. What we’ve seen says that Damascus is well defended. However, they probably don’t provide equal coverage to Syria south of Damascus where Israel aimed at least a portion of this last attack.
If Iran had fired 20 missiles, we would certainly have been shown what’s left of these missiles after they hit the ground or the targets. A lot of parts of a missile survive the explosion. The fact that the zionist sister of Nikki Haley did not parade these remnants of missiles on the zionist TV means there was no Iranian missile attack. It doesn’t mean there was no Syrian attack but Syria uses Soviet era missiles while Iran make their own and therefore unless the zionist state can produce real leftovers of a home made Iranian missiles, they will not make the mistake to lie on TV for showing something that can easily be proven not to be Iranian made.
.
I am also disappointed by RT and Sputnik. In a recent article, Sputnik called the Golan Heights “disputed territories”. I ask them (on FB) to provide the historical evidence that the Golan Heights had at one point in some distant past belonged to the apartheid state.
Hmm…anything in this?

SHANGHAI, May 13. /TASS/. Moscow and Beijing have the potential to boost cooperation to find ways of solving the Syrian issue, and the sides should continue efforts aimed at protecting the ceasefire regime, Chinese Special Envoy for Syria Xie Xiaoyan told TASS on Sunday.
“The relations between China and Russia imply a sweeping strategic partnership and collaboration. We are constantly in touch and conduct consultations (regarding the Syrian issue – TASS). Each side contributes to the Syrian problem’s settlement,” he said.
According to the diplomat, the two countries are maintaining an efficient cooperation on the Syrian issue, which still has a “huge space” for expansion. “I assume that both sides should continue assuming efforts in such areas as protection of the ceasefire regime, a responsible ceasefire resolution compliance, promotion of the political process, as well as regarding the issues of postwar recovery,” he emphasized.
On April 14, the United States, Britain and France dealt a missile strike against Syrian military and civilian infrastructures without the authorization of the UN Security Council, saying that it was in retaliation for the alleged use of chemical weapons by government troops in Douma

Russia is in a very complex and difficult struggle to deal with the declining American Empire. Dealing with the obsessive power addicts controlling this unstable Empire is a dangerous affair and requires a flexible strategy and creative tactics. This is an x-dimensional chess match being played on many boards simultaneously. Actions based on simplistic or emotional bases, will produce poor results. Those who view the game most objectively and accurately have the best chance of steering it into the channels they prefer.
Another great, insightful, and reality-based comment.
thanx
I think of the game more as the game of GO, on a very huge grid field.
Right now most of the dogs are barking and yapping and whining at the Syria/Israel intersection, while way out yonder at the Korea intersection, the Caravan Moves On. Very interesting. VVP/Xi may have finessed Peace on the Peninsula, and maybe even the Empire won’t be able to stop that “peace train.”

Regarding people who think Russia’s ‘retreating’ I have question ; – ‘did you notice the No Fly Zone for Zionazi aircraft over Syria?’
It was a basic of Zionazi warmonger’s plans and a major point of Clinton’s war mongering campaign. Until Russia put the No Fly Zone on them, instead.
And there’s no indication Russia’s even turned on their S400, nor fired a shot at the zionazis.
I also noticed that all of those Cauldrons that slaughtered the Ukraine nazis in Donbass began when the defenders immediately ‘retreated’ when attacked. Retreating seems to me to be a very useful tool. It makes the enemy think it’s ‘winning.’
There is every indication Russia’s fully implimenting Sun Tzu : “To subdue the enemy without fighting is the acme of skill. Hence to fight and conquer in all your battles is not supreme excellence.”
Ralph Conner
You are basically correct. However, when it comes to the S-400 in Syria, it is constantly turned on and prepared, its radar on full alert. Yes, it was never fired during the latest attacks. No need to. The Syrians used the Pantsir, specifically designed against cruise missiles and aircraft flying at low level and mid level. How many missiles did the US,UK,France and Israel lose ? It was shown on the Internet.
Thanks. Hopefully, targeting info from the S400 is passed on to relevant SAA AA units so that they can stay passive and undetectable for as long as possible.
I would hope to see a better kill ratio though if that was happening. If possible, it would be great if Russia could ID the targets of each missile and so only destroy the ones that were aimed at actual assets. It would be nice if the Zios thought that their weapons were more effective than they actually were, ;-).
I’m sorry, Hassan Nasrallah is recommending British agent Robert Fisk’s objective reporting? Lol. Yeah right.
Show me the source in Arabic please. Nasrallah did not make this speech, nor afix his name to it for the benefit of the long term Zionist agenda.
Only Israel and the UK-Rothschild Zionist Eschatologist Liars want you to constantly think of the Iranian presense in Syria. They plan to use this presense as justification to launch the next phase of the plan for the conquest of the lands between the Nile and Euphrates.
Even more unfortunately, Russia will be assisting the Zionist colonials, or so it now seems.
Lol I thought the same thing you thought, but I don’t think think this is a speech by Sayed Hassan Nasrallah. It free-market doesn’t sound like him. I think this is just a blogger named Sayed Hassan, who just gave his input on what’s going on.
Robert Fisk is widely detested by the Zionists. British yes, but a British agent? Hmm.
Robert Fisk is detested by nearly all sides. He has told the truth, largely the personally observed events, for many decades. Turkey hates him, the Brits, the Jews, the Assad faction, and the US. He has been a loner for a long time. He has written a great personal history book all should read to get a handle on the labyrinthian century or so of the Levant and ME.
He is not without warts. But generally, a very reliable historian-journalist. Almost without peer.
I highly recommend: “The Great War for Civilisation: The Conquest of the Middle East”
It happens to be very richly written and entertaining while edifying. A great mosaic you should know.
I have read the book. All 1000 pages of his blah blah blah.
Fisk is a blowhard… and a British asset-agent, as are all FUKUS journalists.
Who said it was a speech by Sayed Hassan Nasrallah? It is clearly not a speech, but a ‘Guest analysis’. Sayed Hasan is only a pen name, even if the author also happens to translate the speeches of the Hezbollah Secretary General.
The mention of Robert Fisk in no way endorses this formerly most decent journalist. But though he mostly spews out garbage, he still happens to make interesting points.
Presentation is everything brother, on a psychological battlefield, composed mostly of disinformation warrior specialists posing as journalists or some derivation thereof.
Also, what is not said is even more important than what is, but concerning what you did say, I saw an endorsement of Robert Fisk.
Did I not?
Well, naming yourself “Sayed Hassan” and publishing your article here with the ilustration of a photograph of a young Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah, should suggest yourself of the highly likely possibility of inducing confussion, especially amongst people not used to read Nasrallah´s speeches, not my case, but I fear the case of the majority of people in the world, included the majority of the readership of this blog, in spite of the so alternative sources of information they could use to inform themselves.
Since you are not so known and being Nasrallah is a bit more than you, I think you may consider changing your pen name to another not so confussing. Continuing the same way, you risk making your views to be seen as those of the very Nasrallah, which could result counterproductive to the Axis of Resistance.
When trying to inform in an honest way, avoiding confussion is mandatory, especially when risking supplantation of people of high political weight out there who are in the bead of so many imperialist and zionist warmongers out there looking for the least slip to jump over them….
Are you a Sayed?
Who would give themselves such a pen name for their own writings when they also do translations of the speeches of the real Seyyed Hasan NasrAllah?
An interesting article to juxtapose against an article outlining the long game by Tony Cartalucci.
http://landdestroyer.blogspot.ca/2018/05/israel-baits-hook-will-syria-bite.html
Putin is trying strike the appropriate balance of power that maximizes the preservation of national sovereignty across the region. This does NOT include facilitating Persian empiric aspirations much less the annihilation of Israel where a large and influential Russian expat community makes its home. There should be no illusions that the Russia-Israel relationship was ever jeopardized by Russia’s activities in Syria. That Hezbollah and Iran might have advantaged themselves beyond Putin’s limited objectives in Syria is quite incidental and in a sense none of Putin’s business.
The so-called Shia Crescent is a transnational formation, a synonym of which could be, again, the Persian Empire redux. Provision of the S300 systems to Syria creates, in Putin’s assessment, a strategic imbalance. Just as the IAF’s prior access to Syrian skies with impunity was an imbalance that has since been corrected.
There is a current tendency to over-infer Putin’s inaction (to the extent outsiders can even gauge Russia’s level of activity; doubtful) as indicative of a ‘loss of nerve’, ‘betrayal’, ‘Atlanticist upsurge’, etc.
Insufficient data points (especially as it relates to assessing relative inaction) can easily lead analysis astray.
-FSD
you admit it foolish to “infer”…Putins actions..yet you do exactly that by proclaiming he Putin…has decided delivery of the s-300 which he agreed to…at one point…now creates a strategic imbalance….which…it obviously CAN NOT do.
baffling comment.
We’ve seem this pattern in the past. President Putin is accused of inaction and hesitation and weakness. The internet is full of voices calling for Putin to act immediately before it is too late. Then, we see President Putin make a decisive move at just the right moment with a martial artist’s sense of timing and striking when an opponent is a bit off their balance.
Then the cycle repeats, and the voices on the internet go back to screaming at Putin’s inaction and hesitation and claiming that is weakness is going to doom everyone.
Acknowledgements and thank yous:
De grand merci Sayed Hasan, même que je suivais les médias libres, je n’ai pas trouvé cette information importante.
Saker, thank you for your struggle to present the community with high quality information, in this time of war on the truth in the empire.
Point 1.
The utter media air superiority of the global virtual nation of the Torah-Pharisees-Talmud collective, is daunting, it must be said. Despite actively looking for the fact-based reporting of the events, this is the first time/place that I have received a recount which is not completely out-of-line with the well-documented trend of actions of the empire and their Torah-Pharisees-Talmud collective leadership executive masters, the inventors of the false-flag operations conceptual approach to manipulating perception.
Point 2.
We don’t know what Putin(/Russia) is doing and for that matter, we don’t know the extent of China’s current involvement in these matters. Why would, for example, Russia profess to the world that they are sending batteries of S-300 systems to Syria, when they are playing a key strategic role at the diplomatic-level?! For all we know, in addition to the publicized distribution of additional Pantsir-S1 units, the most appropriate defensive systems for Syria, Russia sent S-400 units (they never said anything about NOT sending those systems, now, did they?) Furthermore, I am in agreement with the assessment that Syria and Iran are both, in their own way, critical to the strategic interests of Russia/China, both for Eurasian integration, and strategic defense against the escalating irrational behaviours of the empire, as it lurches erratically in the beginning of it’s death-throws, it’s well-developed denial reflex operating a yet a new level of sphincter-grinding alarm. The empire is in collective disorientation, as most of the players actually believe the ridiculously worn and out-dated fake news narratives.
Point 3.
Speaking of the global virtual nation of the Torah-Pharisees-Talmud collective and their extensive, and admittedly effective perception management/propaganda network, well-embedded across most (if not all) empire (aka: western so-called independently sovereign first world industrialized) nations, they just can’t seem to stop their one-pony tricks, and they are close to flogging a dead horse their, and more and more people fail to continue to bridge the ridiculous reports in the MSM with even the extremely limited a. facts they see on the ground, with their own eyes, and b. tiny little squirts of the real fact-based reports that get to them, despite the incredible systems of control and manipulation that are in place.
Once a critical mass of citizens in the empire, and particularly those in the Z.(zombified) U.S.A., wake up from the actively imposed stupor, and realize the mainstream media is the wholesale (ridiculous) shill of the the Torah-Pharisees-Talmud collective, a large part of this facade will break, and people will awaken from this imposed stupor, angry at having been duped, by their own elected officials, so that they may have been negatively-sum-gain gamed by that hateful, neurotic cult, at great expense to themselves, their families, and all that their popular myth holds to be true.
I agree with your message and the only addition I have, is this: Exchange of facts, knowledge and concepts is a good start, however, we also need to adopt certain actions. The Torah-Pharisees-Talmud collective was successful because they promoted each other no matter what. They were given positions in prestigious universities, regardless of how mediocre and mindless some of these people are. They promoted their fake scientists, no matter how fraudulent they were..etc, etc. Slowly they attained an unfair advantage, and started abusing and pushing whoever is not part of their tribe into the gutters of powerlessness. I witnessed a lot of it firsthand. They divided us and united themselves. We have to reverse this trend at all cost and start sharing power between ourselves, so that we can resist effectively without resorting to dirty tactics.
Thanks for your insights. You are “on” to a very, very big story here–As just one example, “they promoted their fake scientists, no matter how fraudulent they were” …….one of their main successes was to create an essentially Answerable to No One but the devil “scientific priesthood” cult. It succeeded because of societal compartmentalization, because the average person was urged to trust these people implicitly: “I have my job, and they have theirs”..and because of that mindset they were able to break any rules of human decency they desired. — We the people have suffered terribly because of this. We have not won, we’ve Lost. I call them dark alchemists, and they have been very good at conjuring things up, (on the order of Pharaoh’s magicians, during the Egyptian Plagues). Their alliance with the powers of evil have allowed them to manifest grand deceptive spectacles that the controlled “news” & controlled “historians” endlessly repeat over and over again as “Truth”–Fortunately more and more people are recognizing these demonic deceptions As deceptions. This priesthood was rarely challenged, and could easily over-awe the average person And, most importantly, over the decades it gobbled up gigantic amounts of money that could have been used for far more constructive things. They have succeeded in bankrupting our nation. Fortunately, no dragon lives forever. Now, in defeating these monsters, we must take care that we do not become like them.
As always Dissident X you shove the cognitive war to the forefront of hostilities. I agree. Minds and perceptions ‘trump’ bullets.
“We don’t know what Putin(/Russia) is doing”
Might that be by design? Perhaps the residual management style of Theatre of the Absurd’s (and Putin’s former ‘Rasputin’) Vladislav Surkov:
“Surkov, whose previous career was as a director in avant-garde theatre, emerges, like Kissinger, as an arch manipulator of reality. “Surkov will invent dissident groups and fund them,” Curtis says. “He will fuel conspiracy theories, but that’s not new. His particular genius has been to let people know that is what he is doing. So whatever you see in the news: you just don’t know if it is ‘true’ or not. I noticed a headline in the Financial Times recently which said ‘no one understands Russia’s policy in Syria’. I thought: Mr. Surkov. The goal of this manipulation, Curtis suggests, is to spread a state of bewilderment and powerlessness across the globe. A sense that nothing quite makes sense.” –Adam Curtis
https://dissidentvoice.org/2018/05/burroughing-in-on-borrowed-time/
-FSD
As much as I respect Adam Curtis, and his filmmaking skills, he is known for assigning guilt from one group/person to another without any compunction. This is one of the BBC mantras “He who blames first – wins”, this is also one of the favorite tricks associated with Mossad (read “by way of deception”).
Remember not to confuse official statements with unofficial statements and rumours.
Russia never officially said that they were sending S-300’s systems to Russia. I believe FM Lavrov dropped a hint that in reaction to the F-UK-US attacks on Syria that Russia might consider this. And I believe SouthFront ran a story based on someone writing a story based on unofficial statements that it would happen. None of that is an official statement that Russia was definitely doing this. For that matter, Russia has not stated that it will not do this in the future.
If Russia were planning to send these 300s, why would they state so publicly? How could that benefit anyone?
Wouldn’t it be better to retain the element of surprise if they do, and conjecture if they don’t?
A chess player does not announce his/her strategy in advance to his/her opponent.
Unless it is some kind of feint/false trail/red herring.

A very accurate article on the whole, with the exception of the authors opinions on RT, which are incorrect. The article has clarified two points:
1) Russia has indeed invested in Syria and has no intention of going away. After the US,UK and French attacks against Syria, and the latest one by Israel, journalists and readers have given highly inaccurate and biased opinions on the Russian attitude in Syria, stating that Russia stood by and did nothing, ie. it did not use its S-300 and S-400 missile systems. Not true. It provided Syria with radar and electronics backup, including advice by it’s electronics specialists. It is true that Russia did not use it’s S-300 and S-400 missile systems, as that would have been an extravagant waste of expensive missiles against old cruise missiles. The S-300 and S-400 were basically designed for use against aircraft first and cruise missiles second.
When the US, UK and France attacked, they did so from outside Syrian airspace, not daring to enter the same The same usually applies to Israel.
2) Journalists and readers have stated that Russia has let Syria down by refusing to sell it the S-300 missile system, forcing Syria to defend itself using old Soviet missile systems like the S-200. That is absurd. Those who give such comments don’t know what they are talking about. It is true that Syria has old Soviet AA missile systems, which have been upgraded. One of those shot down that Israeli F-16. However, it has Russian state of the art AA missile systems, like the Pantsir, which was specifically designed to be used against cruise missiles and aircraft flying at low level and mid level, as well as ground to ground missile systems, which it used against the Golan heights. When the US, UK, France and Israel attacked Syria, the Syrian military shot down most of their missiles and guided bombs, many with the Pantsir. It is true it did not shoot down all of them. However, attentive readers could have read articles about Russian merchant ships, loaded with Pantsir’s and other high tech, being sent to Syria in order to beef up the Syrian military.
The point is that the Syrian military is growing in strength. It’s counter attack against the Golan Heights was certainly a surprise for Israel. We now have new military rules of engagement.
Indeed.
Two key factors. Modern systems can be networked together. Which means that information from Russian AWACS-type planes and Russian operated radar systems can be fed into the Syrian air defense system.
And, the missile launched ouf of a missile launcher is far more important that the age of the missile launcher itself.
If Russia has upgraded the radars in the Syria air defnse system, and if Russia has provided modern missiles for those systems, then the systems are in effect very modern systems.
https://southfront.org/satellite-imagery-show-damage-caused-by-israeli-strikes-to-government-forces-positions-in-damascus-international-airport/
Yes..targeting Syrian forces…at an international airport.repeat an international airport..a storage structure…an HQ building…evidence of activity of buses and vehicles before the strike….umm is not the usual thing that is found at an international airport?????
I thought they had claimed they were targeting and destroy Iranian infrastructure…does the above qualify as Iranian military bases???? I get the feeling Mossad infiltrated agents are trying very hard to find anything that could be used an an excuse for action….just like Netyanhu claimed he had up to date proof of Iranian nuclear intentions and abilities….it is all getting just too absurd…..
What is this – RT and Sputnik bashing forum? Those guys are heros! They are still, by a long shot, the only sane media outlets. Yes, there are some aspects worthy of criticism, but overall they are the best there is. Don’t forget what impossible conditions they have to survive in. Designated as foreign agents in the US, constantly under investigation in the UK – they have to operate under terrible pressure.
I sometimes think this site (certainly the commentators) are radicalising. This is not a good sign.
RR: “This site” is not (AFAIK) radicalized by people who post comments, the problem is that as the place gets more popular, there are tons of new voices and opinions, and among them are people with agendas unknown. I agree with you on RT, as do most people who’ve been here a while. Even on a production-level basis RT blows everyone else away, the PTB know that and it scares them.
Sadly, if you want to see how (Skr. podcast #2 ref) “Full-time, professional Putin-bashers” operate, this is among the places (in english-speaking web) where they try to spin webs. To my eyes they’re long hovered around here on a daily basis, but have recently become frequent fliers. Mods are doubtless working overtime, deserving awe, amazement, gratitude. What we _don’t_ get to see must be jaw-droppingly awful, hopefully with an occasional laugh riot that can’t be published due to rules. (?)
god let it be so.
Commentary:
http://www.syriana-analysis.com/3-misconceptions-on-syria-israel-confrontation/
Sorry guys
I have some questions in good faith.
1-Why doesn’t Syria give up on Golan Heights if it could lead to the end of Israel’s chaos and destruction in Syria.
Please, don’t tell me that it could not lead.
2-Aren’t other Muslim countries even higher or equal enemy than Israel of Syria?
3-What’s national interest of Iran working against Israel when many other Muslim countries are Israel’s allies?
In other words, why Iran, Syria don’t recognise Israel, establish economical links, find a modus vivendi like Egypt…because the other Muslim countries are even bigger or equal enemy of Syria and Iran?
Maybe partly because Israels are “stealing ” huge oil reserves in Golan Heights….https://oilprice.com/Latest-Energy-News/World-News/Tensions-Mount-In-The-Golan-Heights-Over-Oil-And-Territory.html
just as usa has occupied territory east of Euphrates.. also major Syrian oil and gas reserves…..just as usa is trying to halt nordstream 2…etc etc

to answer your questions:
1-It wouldn’t lead to ending Israel’s aggression.
It’s Syrian territory in first place, why shouldn’t they take it back?
Currently due to terrorism and foreign aggression Syria has ended up with a well-equipped and battle-hardened national military, it’d be a waste not to put it to good use and take back territory stolen from them, and possibly wipe-out the trouble-making entity.
This might be rather difficult for some to understand but people have a tendency to adapt and thrive maybe the Syrian people have already gotten used to the chaos and destruction that it doesn’t hinder them as much as Washington and Tel Aviv hope.
2-A number of Muslim countries/people believe the West is too powerful for them to say ‘no’ to so they go along with things they are not happy with, this does not mean they by themselves have an issue with Syria.
A number of Muslim regimes do not represent their own people but are regimes kept in power by the West and in turn represent Western interests.Plus there are also opportunists who are loyal to no one but themselves.
3-See points made in 2- and translate them appropriately, accounting for the fact Israel works under Western patronage.
Israel is a source of instability and terrorism in the region, since Iran is in the same region, neutralizing Israel is in their(and the region’s) interests.
Israel is a Western colony on Palestinian land and a foothold for spreading Washington’s aggression against the region.
These are but a few answers to your ‘good faith’ questions, from a long list of possible answers. And finally I’ll leave you with a quote from someone who is not Syrian nor Iranian or Russian,
‘In 10 Years, There Will Be No More Israel’ – Henry Kissinger, 2012
Why should Syria accept and even institutionalize any illegal seizure/occupation, whether by Israel or the USA or anyone else?
I can think of no reason. The idea of doing so sounds like Sudentenland 2.0.
Plus, it would in effect be an abandonment of implicit alignment with Palestinians/Gaza/Occupied Territories and create a very dangerous precedent that Israel would just love to trumpet and exploit as a legal precedent.
In fact, I can’t imagine why anyone would suggest such a thing!
That is what it looks like from my admittedly not very elevated vantage point (my desk).

Great article by Sayed Hassan. A much better translation than I have seen elsewhere.
A good article, but apparently not by the Hezbollah General Secretary.
There is a severe difference of opinion here regarding the battle over Golan, not just with the mainstream media with their well-known Jewish ownership and bias, but surprisingly also with the report by Thierry Meyssan, the respected independent journalist who is closely associated with the Syrian government. I would be obliged if Saker could ask the author to get in touch with Meyssan and report back to us.
