Okay, my sense is that a large number of commentators are misunderstanding the nature of what is going on. So, this time, rather than writing an analysis, I will spell it out, ‘talking points’ – style and, hopefully, do a better job about making my point. So, here we go.
- THIS IS NOT ABOUT FLYNN. Let me repeat that once more. THIS IS NOT ABOUT FLYNN!!! Please don’t come and tell me that Flynn was wrong on Iran, on Islam or on China. I agree. But,
==>>THIS IS NOT ABOUT FLYNN!!!<<==
- THIS IS ABOUT POWER. As in, who is boss? Who is number one? Who is the alpha dog? The President or the ‘deep state’? That is what this is all about – showing everybody who is in charge.
- FLYNN WAS A SYMBOL. He was the symbol of the entire notion of draining the Washington swamp, which is mostly the 3 letter agencies + Pentagon anyway. Flynn was the guy who dared defy the thought police and be friendly with the Russians. Flynn was the man who wanted to bring the CIA and JCS back under White House control. And Flynn was the guy with contacts with SOCOM and JSOC. Flynn had to be brought down.
- FLYNN WAS ALSO A CORNERSTONE. For better or for worse, it is absolutely evident that Flynn was the brain behind Trump’s entire foreign policy. On some stuff Flynn was great (Russia), on some stuff he was okay (Takfiri terrorism), on some stuff he was ridiculous (China) and on some stuff he was terrible (Iran). But that is not what matters here. Listen to Kucinich who clearly says that this is not about Trump or Flynn, but about a coup against the Presidency by the US ‘deep state’. Now that Flynn has been brought down, there is no “Trump foreign policy” left.
- FLYNN IS ALSO A DOMINO. Okay, this is crucial, pay attention now. Putin has often been criticized for protecting his friends even when these friends are guilty of wrongdoings. Now let me ask you a simple question: would you rather stick your neck out for Trump or for Putin? Exactly. If Trump was a loyal kind of person he could have called Pence and Flynn to the Oval Office, told Flynn to apologize and told Pence to shut up. But he did nothing of the kind. By accepting Flynn’s “resignation” Trump showed that he does not protect those who fight for him. There will definitely be a domino-effect now as everybody who matters has now understood: Trump is weak, the Neocons got him by the balls, and Trump will leave you hanging when the shit hits the fan.
- FLYNN’S DOWNFALL IS A MESSAGE. A message to all those who hate Trump and what Trump represents. And that message is simple: we are back in control and the party is on! Now that Trump has been humiliated and broken, now that he lost his only high-IQ and powerful ally in the White House, the Neocons are the deep state are smelling blood and they will double-down and resume their attack with increased intensity. The next highly symbolic sacrificial victim might be the much-hated Steve Bannon. The bottom line is simple: the hunt is on for anti-deep-state ‘crimethinkers’.
- AT THE END OF THE DAY, IT IS ABOUT TRUMP’S CHARACTER. That was the big unknown, right? Nobody really new what kind of President Trump would make. Everybody, including yours truly, enjoyed speculating about his ego, his lack of political experience, the fact that he owed nothing to anybody, that he was a deal maker, a common sense pragmatist. Well, we still don’t know what kind of President Trump will be, but I am afraid that we now know what kind of President he will NOT be: he will NOT drain the swamp, he will NOT change the subordination of US national interests to the AngloZionist Empire, he will NOT forge a historical partnership with Russia and he will NOT send the Neocons down to the basement from which they crawled out 24 years ago. Whether Trump lacks brains, spine, or balls is anyone’s guess, but it is now painfully clear that he has much more in common with Yanukovich then with Putin.
As I said, it’s over. Not because of Flynn’s views on Iran or Islam. But because Trump has caved in, he has been broken and now all that’s left is a painful 4 year long agony. That’s assuming that the Neocons don’t impeach him just to bask in their arrogance and sense of supremacy.
Frankly, my heart goes out to all those who sincerely hoped that Trump will be the man to free the US from the Neocons and restore the power of the “basket of deplorables” over the many minorities and special interests. Some will now indulge in a lot of “I told you so” but they will be wrong. To hope for the best was the right thing to do. Those who voted for Trump did the only thing in their power to prevent Hillary from occupying the White House. That was the right decision, they did the right thing, both morally and pragmatically.
But now we also need to gather our courage and accept the reality of what has taken place. Minimizing the implications of this deep state coup makes no sense whatsoever, neither morally nor pragmatically. And the reality is this:
It took the Neocons and the US deep state less than a month to overturn the results of the Presidential election.
Trump now declares that he “expects Russia to return Crimea“.
It’s over folks – welcome (back) to the war between Russia and the Empire.
The Saker
PS: one more thing. Trump himself was always, of course, the candidate of one part of the ‘US deep state’. Trump did not appear ex nihilo, and neither did Flynn. It is taking place is one faction of the deep state fighting against another faction of the deep state. The US elites have been split for a while now. But since Trump now has legal authority and those trying to color revolution him do not, I speak of the deep state vs the Presidency.
White House spokesman Spicer said that Obama let Russia invade the Crimea, as if any other U.S. president could have stopped the referendum and Crimea going back to Russia.
Trump couldn’t have done a damn thing, then, or now.
The new axis of evil = Israel, Britain and the U.S.
Dear Saker,
You probably may say that I’m a little paranoïac :) but…
Isn’t it possible that this footage, Flynn resignation, is like a judo move?
Little detour:
Since 10 years, I’ve though more than four times ” ok, Russia is chechmated on this or that case”. But each time, with a huge surprise, Russians did something absolutly unexpended and took advantage again or did nul with adversary (always the same :-) ) . Exactly like in a judo move, take advantage of the force of opponent.
Coudn’t it be the same?
You agree with the fact that if Trump declare war on the Stamp and begin to fire all neocons every where, engage FBI probes against very high leveled current or former officials, it would be caviar for medias wich as soon as will shout to stanilian purge and fascism in USA.
Then, like in judo, instead of repeling opponent, you hold him, let you fall with him and make him support all the force of the fall as you control it.
With the “unexpected” and very quick resignation, without fight of Flynn, can’t every american citizen, every foreigner, see that Wa Po or CNN or NYT, as some curent and former officials raped the most criminal law of USA: revealing classified items.
What can we see? It’s simply amazing, american officials betray their office in raping a fondamuntal law, with the complicity of weird journalists!!! And who is in case? It’s not Jo the tramp, or any politician of second order, the target is, three stars general, former boss of military agency, former member of national security concil, and current security adviser of the POTUS.
You see what I mean…
Now, Trump is justified to engage all his force in DOJ, FBI and agencies to launch huge probes.
If I’m right, we’ll see it in few days. If I mistake, we’ll only see Trump agony.
Am I crazy to think that?
I have been thinking along the same lines…
Me too
This is it,
on morning Trump administration ask DOJ for probe about leak.
And GOP ask the same for Intelligence Commission.
Begining of fire back???
Mainstream media say nathing. They wait for talking points? :-)
After an horizontal review of the press (not only MSM) I don’t know how you can be so sure Flynn wasn’t actually a real problem for the initial plan.
Again, wainting to see who he picks up as a replacement.
Also, I think the “no one would take a risk for Trump” flimsy. First, if you mess with Trump you take a risk, something Trump is known for is firing fast. Second, just getting the position is good enough. If you get blasted afterwards, you still had the big job.
Trump’s latest statement:
“Information is being illegally given to the failing @nytimes & @washingtonpost by the intelligence community (NSA and FBI?).Just like Russia”
Just like Russia? WTF?

US radio commentator Howard Stern was spot on when he said that Trump never intended to be president–that his motive was to enhance his leverage with NBC for a boost in the payout for his TV show.
I believe Trump was more shocked than anyone when he was actually elected. Obviously he is in so far over his head that he is drowning. I expect him to resign within six months.
The Deep State via the mainstream media got Trump elected with this in mind. Pence will be their reliable front man when Trump is gone. All planned. Hillary/Bill had too many negatives and were too obviously dysfunctional personalities/unhealthy people in their own right.
The elephant in the room is Israel. The drive to Greater Israel has been blocked by Russia in Syria and by Iran as the competing Middle Eastern power. The Deep State’s new Cold War on Russia has been to drive Russia out of Syria and disengage from Iran so that Iran can be attacked by Israel’s servant superpower, the U.S. The war on Islam being waged by the Deep State also has this as its underlying purpose. Saudi Arabia/ISIS are doing as they are expected. This is actually a front against Iran/Russia.
Trump–six months at the most, then resignation. He simply doesn’t know what to do. You can’t go from Manhattan mogul/TV personality to operating a machine as complex as the U.S. government. And they all know it. Everyone in Washington is laughing right now.
You are wrong. Hint: Taking your political cues from Howard Stern is not failsafe.
Trump wanted badly to win. Trump worked very hard and very smart to win the electoral college vote, and probably by far won the actual legitimate popular vote. During his campaign he went to several cities a day, keeping a pace that people half his age would have found exhausting.
Furthermore, obviously much of the ‘deep state’, the establishment, most of the plutocracy, and the democratic and republican parties opposed Trump. The mass media, and much of the alternative media, railed against Trump, colluded with Clinton. It was the bulk of the blue collar, ordinary, deplorable, fed up, not airy fairy Americans who put Trump into power, with the help of some elements of the deep state.
And it is the case that every first term President has to learn the ropes. Obama was a gifted teleprompter reader and liar and war monger, and Bush the latter was an ungifted puppet and liar and war monger. And they lasted 8 years, each. Trump is way smarter than the two of them, even with one hand tied behind his back. That doesn’t mean he will succeed, there are some cunning satanic forces opposing him. But he’s a player, not a quitter.
As a follow-up to my recent comment, check out this one from Veterans Today’s Gordon Duff.

if one thing only, it prevented HRC becoming POTUS, that in itself was worth it and actually we talk about the deep state taking less than a month to dethrone the threat well they did Bernie a little quicker (even though his foreign policy was mostly akin to HRCs)
Its a disater to be honest, common sense does not prevail and it seems the americans can only survive with an enemy. I hope the Russians and Chinese have the balls to bury them for good this time around.
The US has bombed and vassalized my country (Serbia), and killed my family members (both directly, and by the depleted uranium-caused cancer that claims thousands of lives each year), a fate that we share with a good chunk of the world. They are my enemy, and the enemy of the civilized world.
And now, the Empire is weakened and divided, it’s global influence is just a fraction of what it was just four years ago, and it is embroiled in a cultural civil war. Now is the time to actively resist it, and throw off it’s yoke.
America, after a very brief respite, is the enemy again. Good. All is as it should be.
Just to be clear, I do not hate the American people. In fact, I found them to be quite different to the “fat, ignorant and arrogant Yankee” stereotype (well, they are blissfully ignorant). They are charming and welcoming, and generally well-intentioned. I quite like them, in spite of myself. But they are the “lifeforce” of the Empire, and I have no more sympathy for them than the average Soviet citizen had for the people of the Reich.
Slightly off topic:
“I feel like I am attending a meeting of a religious sect here this morning. It’s as if the global revolution of 2016, Brexit, Trump, the Italian rejection of the referendum, has completely bypassed you … You’re In For a Bigger Shock in 2017”

Right on topic, imo.
It’s like watching Jonestown revisited on a grand scale.
My deepest appreciation to the Saker for the astute analysis and unique perspective on events as they unfold.
My sympathy to those like The Saker and Paul Craig Roberts who so earnestly hoped that Trump would drain the swamp of the neocon crocodiles and avoid more devastating wars. I suffered the “hopey, changey” syndrome while Obama was campaigning only to have my hopes dashed early in his presidency. I understand the sickening feeling you get when you fully see the clay feet of your idol.
I’ve always doubted that Trump had any depth of commitment to avoiding war with Russia or any other nation. In my estimation, Trump wanted more access to Russia to make business deals that would make Trump himself richer. I believe that is the entirety of his foreign policy.
My take on Trump has been that he, like all bullies, is fundamentally a weakling and will bend easily to pressure. He also will bend to the will of the last person who gets his ear. I also doubt that he has any commitment to making American better. He’s in it totally for himself and milking as much money and adulation as he can from his position. It’s all about him and his wealth.
I have a hunch that he also wants his friends (does he really have any?) and cronies to profit from his position so that he can finally gain acceptance into their socially elite circles. It’s all about him.
Why he let Flynn resign is beyond me. I can easily imagine Trump saying, “So what if he lied. I lie all the time.” Was it because he thought Flynn was cutting deals that he thought that only he himself should make? It took him long enough to decide to let Flynn go. Probably the last one to have his ear was the one who got his way. Wonder who that was.
My prediction is that Trump will bankrupt the United States just like he has bankrupted so many of his businesses. That is, if the neocons’ wars don’t totally destroy the country first.
“Was it because he thought Flynn was cutting deals that he thought that only he himself should make?” — no, it was more likely a convenient ‘sting’ opportunity to flush out some agency leaks and haul in some media presstitutes for a BIG Committee ‘Reality TV hearing. Bread and circus.
Flynn’s tone and fixation on Iran was beginning to sound out of step with the grand negotiator meme.

This is not going to happen, Kremlin said the Georgian regime would run out of steam and economically collapse, guess what? It did not happen, Sakashvili by some miracle of parliament was removed by democratic vote,
–there are no democratic processes in Ukraine any longer, poroshenko is not going anywhere, it has already been established that Ukraine will be the battering ram into Russia,
We have not jailed Navalny he is actually running again… What is there to be calm about? We are in a slightly better position then 2011 and thats not saying much, we shown off a little bit and kept Assad alive (not even in power)… but guess what? Syria is exactly 100% in libyan situation. Forces loyal to Gaddafi are still fighting in Libya so there is no difference, the country is split in multiple parts.
The empire still achieved its goal to destroy syria, they just did not have the luxury to hang Assad like they did to Hussein and Gaddafi on tv– What we did was a stunt to say we saved Assad, but did we save Syria? Nope, cnn and bbc cried about aleppo, it was still destroyed either way
They have destroyed our economic allies, who might be next? Iran is already being threatened, they have nothing to do other than to threaten missile hits, korea already sees which way the wind is blowing, fact is we have failed miserably even the dream of new russia, and a sovereign russia has not advanced much
Evgeny Fedorov has been talking about how there would be a purge. We have new intelligence heads, army generals, its all very good, but the elephant in the room is the economic advisors and the central bank head. Navalny is getting his bandits together again, the hammer must come down
Yes thank you I invariably agree with your well presented pov, except sadly I always saw this coming so it was no real surprise, so sorry.
Just one thing: Does anyone else not think that the US&Allies are the most boring very-important-nations that ever were. I also look at the social pages of social media and it’s the same over there too. I can look at a headline and say “Oh I know what that’s all about”, know what the arguments and results will be, so I move on without reading….to the next headline of boring ‘news’ on repeat, on repeat, on repeat…. It’s like: if the empire can’t kill you with some made-for-money war, they’ll bore you to death….folks just going thru the motions of being alive….a land of the undead.
The refreshing sensible well thought out views on just about everything coming from the Russian side are the brain food that keeps my web alive, offer hope you might say. Thank you.
China and Russia should also do some secret difficult to reveal dirty tricks to increase instability and social conflicts inside USA. America should face real Maidan. Not fake one as that in November.
The warring foreign policy divisions within the Deep State are basically the two opposing geopolitical strategies between Kissinger (who is a close advisor to Trump) and Brzezinski.
“To understand that conceptual framework that led to the US led TPP and TTIP one has to go back to 1904. In that year, the Director of the London School of Economics, Sir Halford Mackinder gave a lengthy presentation to the Royal Geographical Society. In that seminal lecture Mackinder set out the framework of the future world.
At its centre was a unitary landmass that he described as the “world island.” The “heartland” of that land mass was, in Mackinder’s terminology, ‘Europe-Asia’, what we would nowadays call Eurasia. Who rules the heartland, he argued, rules the world island, and who commands the world island commands the world.
Other land masses, including Australia and the United States, were relegated to the status of “outlying islands.”
It has taken a century, but that vision is now being turned into reality. During that intervening century there were two great wars that had a devastating impact on Russia and China; colonial exploitation; and the ruthless pursuit of political, economic and military advantage. With the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991 there was, for a relatively brief period, a sole superpower, the United States.
That the United States intended to retain its dominance was made abundantly clear in the 2000 Department of Defence (US) strategy paper, Joint Vision 2020. That document described the strategic objective as “full spectrum dominance”, by which it meant control of land, sea, air, space and cyber space to the exclusion of all others.
Peter Dale Scott described that objective as “arguably insane” but it has underpinned US foreign policy for that last several decades. By way of dramatic contrast, the text of China’s policies on Asia and the Pacific’s security cooperation released on 11 January 2017 represents the antithetical approach to geopolitical relations.
It was a necessary corollary of the full spectrum dominance strategy that the rise of any competing power(s) had to be opposed by all possible means. This has resulted in the bombing of recalcitrant countries; regime change often involving assassinations; invasions and occupations of countries; and economic dominance strategies that manifested themselves in agreements such as the TPP and the TTIP.
In a lecture given in 2016, Kissinger said that the “long-term interests of both countries (US and Russia) calls for a world that transforms the contemporary turbulence and flux into a new equilibrium which is increasingly multi-polar and globalized. Russia should be seen as an essential element of any global equilibrium, not primarily as a threat to the United States.”
The “erosion of US military-technical advantages” by contrast alarms Brzezinski. Such erosion spells the end of America’s global rule. To Brzezinski, that is highly undesirable, as the result, he argues, would “most probably” be “global chaos.”
Kissinger and Brzezinski differ in their proposed solutions. Whereas Kissinger sees an alliance with Russia as advantageous, Brzezinski would prefer siding with China. Both men therefore effectively argue for a divide and rule strategy, with the desired end result being the retention of US global dominance, albeit tempered by the necessity of co-operation with one or other of the world’s global superpowers.”

Thesis, Antithesis, Synthesis. Antithesis always pulls Synthesis away from Thesis toward Antithesis (compromise. Same in thinking as in politics).

This is a very good analysis by The Saker. This Flynn business deeply wounds Trumps credibility. Yet he may counter-attack, according to his nature. Seeing how he he is perceived and how the deep state has beaten him, Trump may be moved to plan and implement actions aimed at taking revenge or crippling his opponents. If not, he is the biggest lame duck ever.
I don’t see how it wounds his credibility. Everyone who voted against Hillary did so knowing that she represented the same forces that haven’t taken their defeat lying down but have continued to wage war against Trump. They know this is an unprecedented war smacking of treason against a duly elected president. They won’t see anything but the need to rally behind him in this daylight robbery attempt. And that includes folk who didn’t vote for him, so he has even more support than in the actual election. He will have the support of people who don’t want to see the government overthrown, and that’s even some who had previously been in the neocon camp.
If anything, his credibility is enhanced.
This really is about Flynn. If he lied to the FBI, then he was disloyal to Trump, and what happened was not a test of Trump’s character, but a simple IQ check. If Flynn did lie to the FBI, then he would have proven himself (1) disloyal to Trump because he blind-sided his boss, (2) a total fool because he should have known that any number of intelligence agencies listen in on all phone calls made by the Russian ambassador to the US, (3) ignorant that its illegal to lie to the FBI – which most Americans know, and (4) ignorant of and incapable of dealing with the BS system in Washington where any series of real crimes can be “swept under the rug” if the Lügenpresse wants, but lying is a big no-no because it’s so easy to prove and because it’s the traditional way to end a Washington career.
Under other circumstances, and in other nations, one can lie to the top police organization and get away with it. But Trump can’t afford to be a roof over Flynn exactly because this is extremely high stakes.
I suggest people calm down and think this through. I know a lot of hope was riding on Trump, and the defeat of Flynn looks like it could foreshadow the defeat of Trump. But that has not happened yet. Trump did what he had to do, and now we have to deal with the results.
The real problem for Americans is that we expect one man in the White House to change everything, and that’s bat-shit crazy. That’s a Messianic Complex, but it’s the populace of this so-called democracy who have this sickness, and it’s being used as an excuse to do nothing. The American people need, and Trump needs, a nationalist party. Obviously neither the Republicans nor the Democrats are going to change and serve the people. The people need to step forward and start a nationalist party, and it must avoid the fraudulent Left-Right con game that has snared voters for about 150 years in most nations. It’s not rhetoric to describe the fight as the bottom 99% versus the top 1%.
lying is a big no-no because it’s so easy to prove and because it’s the traditional way to end a Washington career.
If only that were true ! If it were, we would have been spared eight years of Clinton and the prospect of his wicked witch wife in the presidency.
Good points though (IMO) otherwise.
Lying is a big no-no in Washington because the lying media can decide which lies to pursue. I thought this detail was so obvious that it wasn’t worth mentioning here.
Sigh, welcome to the de facto Pence Presidency–“eminence gris” of the MAGA movement.
This is what Trump is about: his marching orders.
http://www.cnn.com/2017/02/14/politics/trump-israel-netanyahu-washington-visit/index.html
Trump is an entertainer who was made president to do what he is told. Another Reagan.
I don’t think there has been a coup. It is arguable that a coup took place on 9/11 but some would say it happened way before that and argue that the US was “hijacked in 1913 with the acquisition by the Rothschild Zionists of the Federal Reserve.
China’s Global Times in an editorial says;
“Many predicted that Trump couldn’t prevail over the pro-establishment camp. It appears the predictions came true. Conflicts between a US president and the system are unprecedented.”
The statement about conflict between the President and the system being unprecedented sums it up.
This is completely new territory for the USA – territory in which the Anglo Zionists are having to fight in the headquarters of their empire to regain full control.
Til now it never mattered to the deep state who won a presidential election. Both candidates were bought and paid for and the charade could continue.
What’s never happened before is the deep state having to show it’s hand so nakedly whilst directly challenging the people’s will expressed in the election.
The deep state feels threatened and is trying to regain control which as you accurately point out, they have partially if not completely succeeded in with Flynn’s departure.
But the positive take away is that the AZs have been knocked off their perch ) and now they are trying to get back on top and are psychotically incoherent with rage.
It’s like a coup staged by the people
We also know too that similar demands by the people in the EU to be listened to are also spreading. This huge and bigger than Trump.
You also accurately say;
Trump himself was always, of course, the candidate of one part of the ‘US deep state’
Could you comment on which part of the deep state supports Trump and how their support is manifesting itself?
This conflict seems very much one sided from where I am, basically portrayed as one guy against the entire western establishment. Of course that can’t be accurate.
Trump is now tweeting (sorry for the caps)
Russia TOOK Crimea – Obama was too soft on Russia
The tone is aggressive – next we will get the Putin insults
I never trusted him – I think he is a fake and a conman –
The only benefit of his being president is that it highlight the decline of the US – if he is the best they can elect.
It also may cause the Europeans to rethink their blind allegiance to the USA
Just as they did when Bush was in power.
The Russian should not be gullible and believe anything had changed
Sounds like Putin should invite Trump for a big Pow-Wow in “Yalta 2.0” Conference.
Trump could even bring his Churchill bust and sleep in the Churchill room.
Then he can talk to the people in Crimea and find out what they really think/want.
Go on Vald …. you know his vanity won’t let him decline!
[editor assumes that “Vald” refers to Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, the President of Russian Federation.]
Yep, VP himself 1:1 plus Xi and maybe the one after Merkel.
I’d put 70% probability on it — it just resonates with the times.
Call it G3+1 or WW3?

I’d be interested in Edward Snowden’s views on the Flynn departure. From his intelligence perspective and insight there might be some important details.
Has anyone seen anything relevant?
Is it just me, or does Snowden seem stupider by the day?
I can’t quite fathom him. When we all first knew of him he came over as quiet and almost dangerously intelligent. I keep trying to fit him as a piece in a larger game but it is as yet not working.
As you imply, there doesn’t seem to be any depth in him now but whether that is a deficiency in reporting or something else is unclear to me. Which is why I asked whether anyone had seen anything relevant from him.
The MSM, US admin, EU (&Canadian etc), NATO military hawks etc. appear to have no seperation between them and have all become a tedious Gong Show of unparalleled madness.
Also a gong-show of banality, unparalleled except by SNL and US mass media.
I am not certain that they are even ‘real’ or exist, outside of the MSM.
“Whether Trump lacks brains, spine, or balls is anyone’s guess, but it is now painfully clear that he has much more in common with Yanukovich then with Putin.”
I don’t really buy this. Yes, Putin is much smarter than Trump and Obama combined, but Putin has also made compromises with his deep state; just look at the Russian central bank. He has also played a very passive chess game in both the Ukraine and Syria. We all remember the constant comedy of his ceasefires with John Kerry and his refusal to accept the breakaway republics into Russia.
What worries me is not that Trump isn’t tough, but that he might not be a very good chess player.
Accurate analysis. My thoughts on some of the consequences. America’s foreign policy will be fractured and independently run by various neocon factions of the IC and Deep State. I expect the Pentagon and the CIA will be the two independent actors. And I do mean independent as happened to Obama when the Pentagon elites ordered unapproved bombing raids against the Syrians to scuttle a cease fire. Trump will have no control over foreign and war policies. He won’t even be able to approve of any new bombing campaigns or new treaties.
A template has been established where the Deep State can openly with the willing help of the mass media subvert the democracy. Now more need to hide underground. Not just subvert but make decisions in the future about acceptable candidates and policies. For example, the NYTimes published a piece during the primary that attributed resistance to TPP to Putin. Hillary said in a speech that Putin drove anti-fracking resistance.
I read where mainstream democrats call out to have candidates vetted by the CIA. Imagine if the DNC asked the CIA to vet Hillary and Bernie. Guess the outcome of that one. Forget about the fantasy of ever having a “peace or reform candidate”.
The game is over.
The McCarthyite Witchhunt … I mean calls for an impendent national security investigation intensifies:
Pressure for Independent Investigation Swells Amid Russia-Trump Scandal
http://www.commondreams.org/news/2017/02/15/pressure-independent-investigation-swells-amid-russia-trump-scandal
It is my professional opinion as an American licensed psychologist with 48 years of experience that The Saker has called it just right. Detente is now toast. The neocons and neoliberals have won. And Trump will do their bidding–particularly with respect to Israel goals for itself and the region, given the ever growing power of Trump’s Orthodox-Jewish, uber-Zionist son-in-law, Jared Kushner, as brilliantly analyzed in consortiumnews.com. As The Saker says, we must accept the new reality. But that does not mean feeling helpless and hopeless about everything. As I discuss in my article, “The Importance of Putin’s Remarks about Judo” at russia-insider.com–Putin has much to teach us about treating defeats and victories with the same equanimity and calm, sane wisdom. Putin is committed to preventing war with the US if he can; and having the nation be prepared for war if it happens. We must follow Putin’s example and not be overwhelmed by the vast powers arrayed against us. We must engage in our own forms of asymetrical resistance. Dr. Wedin
The “victory” of the neocons is a Pyrrhic one. The effort to separate Russia from China has failed, albeit at the expense of increasing tension in the world.
The strategic alliance of Russia and China will continue to oppose the Anglo-American Empire and the momentum towards a multipolar world, a new banking/monetary system and the collapse of the fiat bubble economies will continue.
It seems that the delusional insanity of the Jewish State will tighten its grip on US foreign policy leading to a nuclear denouement in the Middle East and the likely total destruction of Jerusalem, (possibly Damascus), and Palestine.
Yes, he caved in. It will interesting to see who replaces him. Given the Crimea statement, I suppose it will be someone given the Neocon blessing
Well, Trump never did have a coherent foreign policy – all he had were “foreign policy tweets” and a speech or two. So the fact that he’s saying Russia should return Crimea merely shows how random his foreign policy actually is.
He’s already reneged on half his campaign “promises” re “one China”, the US embassy moving to Jerusalem, and many more.
So what’s the surprise? Sure, he COULD have been a game-changer – and should he decide to get pissed off at the pressure he’s getting from the deep state, he might still pull off some changes.
But it was never likely that he would. Presidents are FRONT PEOPLE – nothing more. The real rulers of the US are the members of the deep state – the rich, the military-industrial complex, the Israel Lobby, the oil companies, and the banks. NO ONE overrules them and lives to tell about it.
Pepe Escobar has been saying that certain US factions of the deep state wanted Trump. That may be – but they also intended to control him for their own purposes. And now they have.
A color revolution in the USA? Can’t happen before they open a US-Embassy in Washington, DC :-D!
Saker,
A bit early and a bit defeatist no? Had Syrians and Assad had that attitude where would we be now?
I go back to my boxing days. There are no great fights without a tough opponent. For a fighter, one of the most rewarding experiences they will ever feel is when they have been hurt so hard it shakes why they are there and doing it. Your teeth rattled loose, blood in your mouth, pawing your eyelids because your eyes can’t seem to focus right and your ears ringing. A body punch so hard your side hurts so much that you keep your arm down to protect your side because you would rather take another shot to your ringing head than another punch to your softened side. You go towards danger, closer to your opponent (when most people would run away) because you are trained fighter and know that moderate safety lies on the inside, too close for your opponent to get full power on his punches. You gut it out, trap his right arm between your left and your body, you shove your shoulder into his face, release his right arm and throw a short left hook. You dirty box, you get warned by ref the crowd boos you some because you are robbing them of their entertaining knock out which would come at your loss and expense to your body. You get your opponent frustrated with not knocking you out yet, he starts taking more risks or getting lazy. After a while he gets complacent with you constantly pushing against him and lets you back him into the ropes. Your still spent, you are still just pushing around your body weight as a human punching bag and he knows it. So he pushes you away from him, the misktake you have been waiting for – surviving for. This is why you are a fighter and no one will ever stand. This is the moment every good fighter wishes for and it doesn’t come without pain. Their mistake that your are so beaten they can break a cardinal rule in defense and extend their arms to push you away. They figure you have nothing left but, you do. You saved it for this moment in time. The energy is not even present, it comes from the past. Something that happened to you that drove you, something that has always eaten away at you you needed to make right. You use that energy and release it into an uppercut to their unprotected jaw. You both feel the punch in a way that is hard to describe to anyone else. It is a transfer of power. With that you have new energy and you follow up with a left. Then double left body then head and a straight right. Your opponent crumbles to the mat. You and he both knoe he is not getting back up. The crowd cheers, the ref lifts your hand in victory. You love the sound of the crowd but fucking despise them at the same time. They just love the show no matter who is broken and defeated in the end.
So, everyone has a plan until they get punched…
We are in the first 30 seconds of the first round.
What is ahead of us is a deathmatch. I have said this before here. What is coming is in no way a normal presidency and it’s not just about Trump or his administration. What is coming will decide the fate of our nation and the world for generations.
So, everyone has a plan until they get punched…
I remember when Mirko Filipovic said that before his fight with Gabriel Gonzaga.
Mirko got knocked out by roundhouse kick to the neck. Fortunately, it was just a game under UFC rules, so referee stopped the match.
In real life fights, there are no rules, no referees and no chance to square against your opponent(s). Totally different thing.
Still, I think that planning is a useful activity.
We have more than rules, we have laws. Laws that can be used to bring those that work against us in the dark into the light and to justice.
We will either return to the rule of law or descend into chaos. That is why Trump accepted Flynn’s resignation. That and Flynn wasn’t straight with Trump. The outcome does not rest on a single individual. People are writing off the fight as already in defeat this is not the attitude of fighters. Trump still holds power and needs to consolidate some more. With every day he should be working towards that and delaying the fight until he has the power to win it.
We won’t win anything without the support of right minded Americans, fighters.
If Trump cannot win using the laws of our nation with the People’s support, then the U.S. is too far gone and not worth saving. If we are truly at that point then nations of the world need to band together and expose what we have done in Ukraine and Syria for the whole world to see and bring U.S. leaders up on war crimes charges. Either that or we go to war again based on lies.
Well that was a depressing read. I hate the nwo with all my heart & thought Trump would ‘drain the swamp’. What now to look forward to? One world government, microchips for all, Islamic Europe & North America?
Maybe the only option is for war with Russia & hope that Russia wipes the whole f***king lot of them out sadly that includes us too.
To quote some Russian poet: ‘Zhyt’ nje novo. No i umirat’ konechno nje novej.’
You have a beautiful icon here….
The Lord is not going to “save” America or anyone else’s country until a huge effort is officially made to protect the most vulnerable….children.
Deanna,
Americans are not worth saving if they won’t stand up and protect children. This is issue that has the power to unite gooe people from all sides and take the evil cabal down.
This is why they push the “fake news” narrative so hard with regard to #pizzagate. It is not “fake” or “news”. It is a citizen’s investigation because good people have been exposed to the existence of evil people that our LEO’s are at best ignoring and at worst, protecting. People are doing the job our own government won’t do and they do not look like they will let it go.
Whether Trump is a partner in fighting this and the overall corruption in our government remains to be seen. Regardless, the fight has begun and will continue to grow.
I look at everything we have in this country and everything I have as well. It is worth nothing if we are ok with turning a blind eye to what is being done to the most vulnerable. If that is what we have become, let it all burn to the freakin ground. If people are too timid, stupid or afraid for their own “stuff” to stand up and fight, they are cowards and deserve a cowards end.
There is only one solution left and that is to split up the country. The US is about the same size as Europe (Atlantic-Ural), 10 million km2. Europe has 30 countries, America only 1. European-Americans should realize that the story of old America is over, take their losses and leave the Union. The East-coast and South-West for Mexico, the Missisipi basin for the Yanks and the West-coast for the mixed race communists under the leadership of the George Soros types (“Trans-Appalachia”).

I too love America so much, I want there to be hundred ‘little’ Americas.
Sorry, mixed-up East and West coast.
Agreed 100% with Saker’s analysis. Looks like Trump is replacing Flynn with Hayward who actually lived in pre-1979 revolutionary Iran and had Iranian friends while growing up.
http://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-trump-harward-profile-idUSKBN15U2AU
I never truly bought the Trump vs the Deep state meme. Period.
Trump is pure bread and circuses…
Anyway… it’s being claimed that the White House was preparing for Flynn’s ouster last week interviewing candidates and one is so interesting…. Robert Harward
What a bio!- Including speaking farsi and growing up in Iran under the reign of the Shah.
What are the odds with the US and Israel would love nothing more then to attack Iran?
Jared Kushner certainly does have the ear of his father in law
Or are Jared and Ivanka the real power in the whitehouse?
It has to be asked?
https://pennyforyourthoughts2.blogspot.ca/2017/02/flynns-ouster-planned-robert-harward.html
“White House officials spoke with Robert Harward, a potential replacement for former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn, as early as last week and again yesterday”
Harward’s bio:
He holds a master’s degree in international relations and strategic security affairs, served as a federal executive fellow at Rand
Harward grew up the son of a naval officer and spent much of his teenage years in Iran. He graduated from Tehran American High School in 1974 and speaks Farsi.
He qualified as a surface warfare officer aboard the destroyer USS Scott before joining the Naval Special Warfare community. Harward was the “Honor Man” of his Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL class 128, an award given to the most outstanding member of the training course.
Throughout his distinguished career, Harward has been stationed around the world, but also worked for the executive branch in the nation’s capital. He has served on the National Security Council as the director of Strategy and Policy for the office of Combating Terrorism and was chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff representative to the National Counterterrorism Center as a member of the Senior Interagency Strategy Team, according to his Navy biography.
Well said as usual…
I liked the point about blocking Clinton, and would add his election killed the TPP (for now… they will of course try under another name)… either plenty of reason to elect him.
I have not given up though… never thought for a minute he’d win the war, but winning several battles will (we hope) give others the will to run outside the R/D fully controlled parties.
The recent Pedo arrests, while clearly just giving up some expendables in a PR move it shows they are feeling the heat…
Greece (close but no cigar), Brexit (huge win), France (seems to be turning), Bernie Sanders (Clintons had to pull out all the nefarious stops to beat him), Trump getting the GOP nomination, and the crowning achievement is President Trump.
The mass hysteria is predictable… one key is if the Deep State can pull off the destabilization of the Trump government without exposing it’s slime and corruption to even more “Deplorables”… I’m betting they will not.
Even Bernie called CNN Fake News the other day (joking of course) and was shut down immediately (it was not a glitch)… lately I see more Fake News references to the legacy media than the alt media… a good sign!
I agree with the Saker. The Deep State has castrated Trump. He is no Putin – he’s a Yanukovych.
The Neo-Cons goal is to attack and defeat Russia – yes it’s an insane idea but they wrongly believe it’s possible. When? Probably this year before the new Russian ICBM’s called ‘Satan2’ are deployed in 2018. I have advised friends and family still in Amerika to join me in South America. It is better than sitting in ground zero waiting to die a horrible death. Some of us might survive in the Andés living like the Incas did.
Today, all Amerikan TV channels including Fox have gone nuts attacking Trump as a ‘Russian Agent’. I’m old, older than Saker, I lived thru the ‘McCarthy Years’ in Amerika – I’ve never seen the hysteria that’s going down now.
It is human nature to want to deny bad news but I’m afraid ‘denial’ is a river in Egypt. I’ve seen the frenzy for war whipped up several times in Amerika. My father saw it in 1941 and always talked about it. When the madness starts there’s no stopping it. You can only get out of the way of the coming insanity.
Written in extreme sadness – for a moment in time I’d wrongly thought there might be some hope for the future. I have three wonderful grandchildren.
Hasta Siempre Comandante, Pedro de Hungria
Concerning the late stages of the Greek Empire (Hegel, Philosophy of History):
” the point of interest is no longer the fate of these states,
but the great individuals, who arise amid the general corruption,
and honorably devote themselves to their country. They appear
as great tragic characters, who with their genius, and the most
intense exertion, are yet unable to extirpate the evils in question;
and perish in the struggle, without having had the satisfaction of
restoring to their fatherland repose, order and freedom, nay, even
without having secured a reputation with posterity free from all
stain”
Which may even be a bit much considering it took 3 weeks.
Very funny nickels! Kudos for lightening the load.
Looks like the “Civil War” is on! Will Trump have the jam to ask his pal Erik Prince to take out the relevant parts of the “three letter agencies”? I think the disenfranchised “deplorables” will back a strong leader in this. What is the alternative to the existing fascism? Why a more brutal fascist, of course. Let the games begin!
There is no other choice than to fight or resist, first and foremost by opening some eyes.
Which is what you Saker do, and do well.
Trump was the only chance we had when the choice was Trump or Clinton. But three people from Goldman Sachs in his appointments told me all I needed to know. I now think Trump has been in on this from the very beginning. The campaign was just another con job. He set himself up as the man of the people and it was a lie. Didn’t Obama do exactly the same thing or is eight years too long a time for memory? He promised what people wanted to hear then and Trump has just fooled us all again. Wake up and smell the swamp.
Trump’s new foreign policy just arrived in D.C. It’s called N-E-T-A-N-Y-A-H-U (Milekowski for those less Biblicaly inclined.) All the old Meyer Lansky boys are on board–even Marco Rubio, who Trump denounced as “bubble boy” during the election campaign due to his alleged youthful “gay” bathhouse frolics while dealing coke.
Do not underestimate the power of this new foreign policy to influence the House and Senate on both sides of the aisle. Count the standing ovations and see if Netanyahu’s last visit is outdone.
There WILL be a purge of all the old-line foreign policy types–including the so-called “Arabists”–and this will extend across the intel community. As such, the move against Flynn can be seen as a defensive response to a coup d’etat against the U.S. by Neanyahu and his U.S. backers. Russia, which may have passively approved, seems to have become the whipping boy. Whenever Russia is mentioned negatively, think Israel.
Israel took billions of dollars from the U.S. for many years under the pretext that it was negotiating in good faith for a two-state solution–which was called for in the original U.N. grant of a state in Palestine. I’d say they owe the U.S. (and Egypt) a substantial sum of money which, of course, they will not pay.
The Arab states will come to regret selling out Palestine (and Syria and Lebanon) in the long run for fear of the Iranian “boogeyman.” The Babylonian Talmud says something like “the rascality (willingness to look the other way when injustice is done) of the goyim is without measure.” Works every time…
To hope for the best was the right thing to do. Those who voted for Trump did the only thing in their power to prevent Hillary from occupying the White House.”
so it is best a White House occupied by a coward who out of fear does exactly the same things that Clinton would have done out of conviction? I don’t think so.
Before they brought down Flynn, they brought down his chosen assistant, Robin Townly. News reports were that the denial of clearance for Townly were light on specifics as to why he was denied the necessary clearance, but Pompeo signed off on the denial anyway. The actual reason for denying Townly the job was that he has been critical of the CIA. Pompeo is clearly a traitor to Trump’s policy agenda. T
The CIA of course murdered JFK. If Trump is to come anywhere near a victory in this country he needs to have his own hit squad, otherwise they will always have the upper hand. And anyway, isn’t he the commander in chief. He would have unlimited volunteers especially after the murder of Navy Seal Six. Thousands of military personnel are just waiting for someone to give them the “green light.”
in english
To my view, there are some way in globalization, militarism and financial imperialism are two. But the two way are opposed at the moment in the ideology among the American oligarchs… It seem the Military-industrial lobby refuses to leave hands with not a sound.
Thank you.
Arthur M. Schlesinger in “War and the American Presidency” describes assidiously the very “templates” highlighted in your comments. The might of these mechanisms is awesome
and terrifying.
I am also reminded of the carefully researched work of Barbara Tuchman in “The Zimmermann
Telegram”, in which she traces the “lanyards” of war and how to bring the occupant of the White House in line.
FLYNN❤ GOT RAILROADED BRING HIM BACK
Yes, keep him in the loop Advising the figurehead advisers.
Trump had one chance to save America in his first week, i.e. Get rid of the FED and the debt economy. Treasury issue debt free money as JFK did in June 1963. This would have saved us from economic collapse. We will collapse and China and Russia will pick up the pieces. Trump hasn’t looked lately, but he lost his balls along the way. America has no one leader that can go up against the neocons
what an absurd reasoning. Trump is vulnerable to attacks over his russian connections so he had to dump a guy who became a liability. Tillerson and Big Oil behind him are not even mentioned – nonetheless they’ll make their preferences felt
What rubbish! Trump is vulnerable over his russian connections, so he had to dump a guy who became a liability. Tillerson and the Big Oil behind him are not even mentioned, nonetheless they can easily steamroll over the opposition of some mid-level deep state functionaries
To bad this is even deeper than we could believe. The psychopaths have the dirt on Flynn from Pizzagate. Look up the threat Philippe Reines tweeted that Hillary retweeted.
This is a very dirty world.
Thanks for the truth. You are my type of man all the way home. Thanks again……Samuel
Trump is not the culprit. The US system is. The only way to get rid of Clintons, Bushes, Obamas and Trumps is to topple the system. No other way.
I admire the writing but disagree with the conclusions. Trump is intellectually shallow, has some form of attention deficit disorder, and has insufficient knowledge of basic historical facts to implement any changes.
I believe that opposing Putin’s vision of an ever expanding Greater Russia is the cornerstone of a rational foreign policy. Flynn was essentially Trump with an infinitely higher IQ and I am relieved to see him gone.
Your points are very convincing. A sad day.
Sometimes they say “Better the devil you know than the devil you don’t know.”
However, in this case we knew that we had a one hundred percent chance of getting the worst that the baddest devil could offer with the smooth talking Jezebel on steroids, and there was a better than zero chance of getting something better with Trump.
You say Trump came out of a faction of Deep State. I’m not so sure. Maybe he matched some of that faction’s goals to try to avoid World War Three (or Cold War Two) but then arriving into the seat of power changes things. I had a powerful person from a Latin American country in my house that told me about this secretive Deep State clique, in a conversation about JFK. They have a lot of faces but they are organized. By now this should be obvious to those who care to dig for the truth.
They come with threats against your person, your family, they find things. They use a cancer patient like Ruby to knock off the patsy. If a president gets cocky, they’ll send out somebody to shoot at him. Even if he doesn’t die, which Reagan almost did, they’ll slow down the damage and take a compromise instead.
It’s probably still better for awhile with Trump than the irrevocable hell that could have been, but then this also exposes the Deep State for those in the know.
I think that was one message in the Will Smith movie Enemy of the State. We are watching you, we will stop you, resistance is futile.
How ironically outrageous that this “Resistance” in the streets against Trump is resisting against the true enemy of the One Percenter Hegemon.
This will not end well. But it is a law of the universe as sure as physics that whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. The orchestrators of this oppression will suffer and will get no relief. They are terrified at the prospect that the masses will become aware of them and their genocidal plans and get really angry. They have plans for that but God has plans for them.
It could be that Trump’s resolve has been seared by a revelation that he never could expect. Something similar to that which Michael Hastings were going on about.
The US “deep state” is obviously just a node of a global parasite network where the central banks form the central nervous system of “the creature” and the muscle structure is the CIA, FBI, MOSSAD, MI-6, etc.
Could be that Trump was shown where the primed mass destruction devices were lodged in the Capitol Hill complex, maybe even more than two of them, and also which cities in the US, and globally, will be simultaneously incinerated if the Bolsheviks/Sabbateans/”sewer elite” feel the global population need a dramatic, long term lesson in subservience.
Such information will take all the fight out of any decent family man, which I think Donald Trump actually is.
This is not such a ‘far fetched’ scenario given the REAL history of the 20 th century and the centuries preceding. The satanic ruthlessness of these creatures is far beyond any normal comprehension. “The Protocols….”, “Silent Weapons….”, “Iron Mountain report…..”, WW1, WW2, Dresden, Hiroshima, Nagasaki, Korea, Vietnam, Agent Orange, World Trade Center, Iraq, Libya, etc, etc……. The average mentality dare not contemplate the full implications of such a history.
This. Exactly. But Trump is still fighting.
The Deep State AKA The Shadow Government has been in overt charge since 9/11 and covertly before that. They call the shots and the 3 branches of Government at all levels dance to their tune. It is really simple and ingenious, all they need is a source of funding out of the purview of the Legislature, which they have; illegal drug distribution and supplies, illegal weapons transfers and confiscation. Next they need a compliant cutout either a law, a person, an organization or lever of power which they have: Patriot Act, a patsy like Lee Harvey Oswald, a Think Tank like The Hover Institute or “embedded” newspapers with cooperating journalists, and the National Security Council. Next they need to separate the elected representatives from the people; In the event of a contrived or real “National Emergency” (economic, war or immenent threat of war, social desintegration, racial unrest, unbridgeable political division and moral disintegration) all high value targets like elected official and pivotal administrative personnel at the Local, State and Federal level will be taken to a secret location and/or underground bunker. While in the bunkers their ventilation systems will experience “unanticipated” periodic failures which will convince them that they will either cooperate or suffocate. The civilians will be herded into population detention centers where all necessities can be controlled. Water, security, food, sanitation and medical care can be withheld at any time cooperation will be mandatory or else. Finally they need a policing and enforcement organization like goon squads in the detention/interogation centers, Homeland Security Police or Special Ops teams to “fix” the recalcitrant few real patriots who do not succumb to terror, rape, torture, force, bribery or threat of death. It is quite simply the Phoenix program of the Vietnam era transferred to the United States of America. It is more dangerous and more insidious than the Mafia ever was.
Exactly!…dont know what and why saker is miffed…dont we know it already that No president of the Brave and Free had ever been in control of the state of affairs of the corporation known as U.S.A ?..is there no curiosity in the American brain who is in Control?..actually?
Please stop using caps. Amended for this one time – any others will go to the trash. Mod
If General Flynn is truly an asset, which I feel he is as far as the Benghazi CoverUp and ending the Russian Controversy. What is to keep him from being employed with CIA or DIA Pentagon, etc … and then advising the figurehead advisers ?
Much of this is beside the point; Trump was never going to carry out much of what was promised not least because of his lamentable grasp of economics and the political complexities posed by the current globalisation situation; Flynn was flying by the seat of his pants. Anyone who want’s to take on China and Iran needs to spend time with their analyst. Good luck with that; BTW this applies equally to the neocons/deep state.
The real problem here is that Russia is in an incredibly weak position both geopolitically and economically and is a hostage to fortune re potential developments in it’s own back yard; the ‘Stans in particular and which in their different ways are either unstable or contain the potential for disorder or collapse. The third element here is China, already active in central Asia and a potential challenger in the Russian Far East, where Putin is overstretched as it is. On top of this Russia is in no position to carry passengers, yet it subsidises a number of states which were formerly part of the USSR and from whom any perceived cultural or political benefit is hard to detect. Again the reliance on energy, other raw materials and arms sales exposes Russia to the vagaries of international markets and fluctuations in demand, all of which can be manipulated. Putin has now had several years of sanctions during which time it would have made sense to embark on a programme of modernisation re manufacturing and other aspects of the Russian economy with a view to having more vibrant and stable conditions by say 2020-2023, yet there is no substantive sign of this. Putin talks a great game, but we have yet to see anything of substance. Russia possesses a tremendous reservoir of intellect which is largely undeveloped and under-utilised, yet which is the potential bedrock upon which a stronger economy can be built. China’s friendship with Russia is fine right now, but in the medium to longer term it cannot be relied upon. Conditions in the US are now so chaotic that Russia’s current foreign policy will serve for a while yet; what the country needs is modernisation, something that would amount to a much more effective defence than any amount of grandstanding and triumphalism re the current US difficulties and allowing itself to be beggared by getting into another arms race.
Have you listened to Putin’s last 4-hour Q&A?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hlLb5s2rr_E
They are working on it, but it isn’t flashy, and it takes time.
Check out about 25 minutes, for example.
BTW, weapons exports help pay for the R&D.
Like I said, Putin talks a great game. You mention R&D; unfortunately most Russian R&D is military focused and the real economy is largely stagnant, not because of sanctions – though they haven’t helped – but because Putin is too busy playing the Great Game, something no one else has been engaged in for years. And I write this more in sorrow than anger; Russia’s potential is awesome, but whilst the current policies appear to amount to a kind of siege mentality and a retreat to traditional “Russian-ness’ , none of this promise is likely to be realised.
Putin said some of that military R&D was to be used to help consumer developments at well.
There is a reason why Putin is involved in Great Game activities, of course — it is under attack by the empire. There is not much choice but to respond. Nonetheless, economic progress is being made despite the necessary diversions towards the military, which is a still relatively small part of the total expenditures. An arms race is a deliberate strategy by the US to hurt Russia, and has been used before — in fact Reagan was credited with defeating Russia using it.
in my opinion the biggest problem now for Russian economy is the hold the banks and oligarchs have on it and the monetary system, but there is progress being made there too. From what I have heard there are more government funded programs to increase productivity and development than there had been. Russia took on terrible damage after the fall of the USSR which damged the economy greatly, and it will take time to recover. The sanctions have even helped in many areas with this as import substitution has increased domestic growth, especially in agriculture, where exports are bringing in money.
It seems to me that Russian policies are pretty good on the whole, and that time many of these problems will be solved.
The Great Game is the only game in the Anglo-Zionist Empire.
But, despite President Trumps bowing out, the American people who are awake can now demand that those who went to CFR, etc meetings be CHARGED with the same crime being laid at the feet of Flynn.
Trump would have been useful to “drain the swamp” as a constitutional president who kept his Oath and written duties; but since he did not/is not, it is time for the people to take up their constitutionally assigned duties, because the US Constitution assigns that duty to “we the people of the united States” in Article 1, Section 8, Clause 15.
Clause 15: “To provide for calling forth the Militia to execute the Laws of the Union, suppress Insurrections and repel invasions.“
The Militia has as its constitutionally assigned duties to:
— Enforce the US Constitution (supreme Law of this nation) and each state’s Constitution (highest Law of the state),
— Enforce and keep the “Laws of the Union” (which are constitutional laws ONLY),
— Protect the country against all enemies both domestic and foreign, and
— “to suppress Insurrections and repel Invasions”.
The duties that those who serve within our governments have to the Militias are found in Clause 16.
Clause 16: “To provide for organizing, arming and disciplining, the Militia, and for governing such Part of them as may be employed in the Service of the United States, reserving to the States respectively, the Appointment of the Officers, and the Authority of training the Militia according to the discipline prescribed by Congress”.
George Washington: “It may be laid down, as a primary position, and the basis of our system, that every citizen who enjoys the protection of a free government…, but even of his personal services to the defence of it, and consequently that the Citizens of America (with a few legal and official exceptions) from 18 to 50 Years of Age should be borne on the Militia Rolls, provided with uniform Arms, and so far accustomed to the use of them, that the Total strength of the Country might be called forth at Short Notice on any very interesting Emergency.” (“Sentiments on a Peace Establishment”, letter to Alexander Hamilton; “The Writings of George Washington”)
Richard Henry Lee, First Senate: “A militia, when properly formed, are in fact the people themselves …”
George Mason, Co-author of the Second Amendment: “I ask, Sir, what is the militia? It is the whole people except for a few public officials. To disarm the people is the best and most effectual way to enslave them.”
Thomas Jefferson: “When once a republic is corrupted, there is no possibility of remedying any of the growing evils but by removing the corruption and restoring its lost principles; every other correction is either useless or a new evil.”
Abraham Lincoln: “We, the people, are the rightful masters of both congress and the courts – not to overthrow the constitution, but to overthrow men who pervert the Constitution”
The US Constitution requires that we charge them with the crimes they have committed, then they can be held until their trial by jury. If found guilty they no longer meet the requirements of the position they occupy – of course so many of them already no longer meet the written requirements of the position they occupy, and they all are guaranteed their day with a trail by jury as is all Americans.
The Old-Testament Christian Anglozionist US Neocons stole it from the people. A victory by a bright dealer but without guts to fight them back. Poor Americans. My condolences.
How about giving the guy a chance? Even if he spends the next 4 years sleeping he will be far better than the ignorant mulatto Muslim that he replaced.
Last night I watched Dr. Strangelove (aka Doctor Merkwurdigliebe): Kubrick’s send-up still has a lot of relevance for our greusome times. We still suffer the same conceited & puffed-up military-industrial-intelligence-financial complex boors and rogues who clearly call the shots with their nuclear primacy, just like in the 1960s. These mattoids, who represent the invisible (shadow or secret) government of the American Empire, are the monstrous offspring of Wall Street bankers brokers, and lawyers; of the CFR; of the TC; of the Rand Corp.; of the Bilderberg Group; of the RIIA & Chatham House; etc.
I don’t think that Trump is being beaten down by either the neo-cons or the Israel lobby – they own that sorry bozo’s asset; Trump is leveraged to the hilt – he has his cash flow plus huge loads of renegotiated loans! Trump and his asshole buddy Netanyahu could not stop kissing each other’s asses in a twisted, disgusting, and nauseating love-fest performance of a press conference. Yes, the Don has been neutered by our overblown power-lords ,but his neutering only allows our overlords to make sure that the Don becomes more manageable and susceptible to obedience training – heel boy, sit boy, and now roll over rover! Please, take a long hard look at the Don’s mob connections (blackmail anyone), if only at those connections that are publicly known. The President of the U.S.A. might as well be a narcissistic clown like the Don. The office of POTUS is currently a mainly symbolic and ceremonial one. As for me, I am looking around for a very inexpensive, surplus Boeing E-4 that I can remodel and use in case of a dire emergency.
Anyways, I think that your analysis of a “Deep-State coup” is narrowly a correct one; however, I think that the meltdown of the nuclear reactionary and his White House staff is more complex than Don simply getting ‘deep-stated’; the Don has surrounded himself with a bunch of buffoons and effin’ amateurs! The panel discussion on Fox with Dennis Kucinich is very interesting and important and I thank you for bringing it to my attention. At least, more people have been made aware of the Deep State. You and Kucinich are both definitely on to some of the current machinations concerning the Deep State, but the Deep Sate, “Shadow Government”, “Rogue State”, or “Invisible Government” has a very long and very sordid history – Think JFK, Watergate, Iran-contra, Ollie North, Barry Seal, Vince Foster, Monica Lewinsky, OKC, Waco, 9/11, WMDs, etc., etc., etc..
A reasonable place to start looking into the ‘status in statu’ contrivance that runs the American Empire is “The Invisible Government”,by David Wise & Thomas B. Ross, but “Wealth and Democracy; A Political History of the American Rich”, by Kevin Phillips has loads of important historical background. Of course, there is also “The American Establishment”, by Leonard & Mark Silk; “The Power Elite”, by C. Wright Mills; “Rogue State”, by William Blum; “The American Deep State: Wall Street, Big Oil, and the Attack on U.S. Democracy”, by Peter Dale Scott; “Shadow Government: Surveillance, Secret Wars, and a Global Security State in a Single-Superpower World”, by Tom Engelhardt; “The Deep State: The Fall of the Constitution and the rise of the Shadow Government”, by Mike Lofgren; “The Israel Lobby and U.S. Foreign Policy”, by John Mearsheimer & Stephen Walt; and my personal favorite, “The Devil’s Chessboard: Allen Dulles, the CIA, and the Rise of America’s Secret Government”, by David Talbot, to name a few. However,, The Lost Hegemon: Whom the Gods Would Destroy”, by F. William Engdahl, is probably the most appropriate work for these trying times along with Chalmers Johnson’s ‘Empire trilogy’.
In the final analysis, we are all just trying to make some kind of sense out of all of this nonsense. All we really can ever really know is tiny bits and pieces of the overall puzzle. We lack the real inside information that is necessary to understand what is actually going on in Washington Deceit. We suckers are more or less along for the ride over the cliff. We are viewed, primarily, as usable digital data stored in Bluffdale, Utah. But nothing lasts forever, except for consciousness, and when our time comes, none of us are going to get out of here alive.
Could people please advise on the best articles detailing the neoconservative movement? History, ideology, goals and advocates?
Many Thanks
Well, Eddie, I shall take a crack at answering your query. LaRouche PAC issued a 280 pp. book in 2004, entitled “Children of Satan”. That would be a good place for you to start. Once you have digested the information in this book, you can do your own research into some of the characters who are mentioned there. Another good book (also published in 2004) on the Neo-cons is “The High Priests of War: The Secret History of How America’s ‘Neo-Conservative’ Trotskyites Came to Power and Orchestrated the War Against Iraq as the First Step in Their Drive for Global Power”, by the late Michael Collins Piper.
It is also very important for you to read “The Israel Lobby and US Foreign Policy”, by John Mearsheimer and Stephen Walt. Another essential book is “The Devil’s Chessboard: Allen Dulles, the CIA, and the Rise of America’s Secret Government”, by David Talbot. It is also very important to read the position paper of the Project for the New American Century (PNAC); this paper is entitled “Rebuilding America’s Defenses: Strategy, Forces and Resources for a New Century”. Please, also refer to the Wikipedia article, which is also entitled “Project for the New American Century”. It is also very important for you to read the position paper, “A Clean Break: A New Strategy for Securing the Realm” and for you to refer to the Wikipedia article of the same name. One other crucial document for you to peruse is the so-called “Yinon Plan” or “A Strategy for Israel in the 1980s”. Do a little exploring with google on this piece that was written by Oded Yinon. His plans would seem to go a long way towards explaining what is going on in the Middle East today. This should be enough to get you started, Eddie. Good luck pilgrim!
But Flynn is still alive… He still has friends and connections and probably Trumps ear.
Trump was, from the start, the wrong man to ever expect to seriously challenge the Neocons and the deep-state.
He lacks the depth, strength-of-character, background and intellect needed to challenge these entrenched interests, and also lacks the communicating and rhetorical ability to reach out to and bond with the most knowledgeable citizens, on both sides, to support him in this challenge.
To be honest, many of the most enthusiastic Trump-voters probably don’t even know who the Neocons are, much less know about them in depth. Far too many Trump voters were more concerned with “getting those illegals out” and “stopping those radical Muslims from attacking us”, then actually facing-down the great INTERNAL threats to the US, in our own Establishment.
Say what you want about the evil Neocons, but they are clever and smart, and they needed to be challenged by a leader who could, at least on some levels, outsmart and out-manuever THEM, in turn. Trump was NEVER that man. Too shallow. Too narcissistic, too distracted by minor slights.
A man of weak character, after all is said and done. Immature. A child against adults, on THEIR battleground.
I sensed long ago Trump was never going to be able to seriously challenge the Neocons’ power base and policies. His election was a desperate leap-of-faith that was doomed to fall short from the inception. Also, Trump’s weakness in defending social safety-net programs like Medicare and SS, plus his outreach to the white-power dominated Alt-right, limited his appeal to Progressives also disheartened by the evils of the Establishment (and there are quite a few Progressives in this category–We argue bitterly with DNC Democrats constantly these days, and reconciliation seems unlikely–check out Progressive Jimmy Dore on youtube for a sense of this).
There is more agreement between Progressives and Libertarian-leaning Conservatives (the ones who listen to Chris Hedges and similar dissident voices) on the dangers of the deep-state, then there is between mainstream GOPers/DNC-type “Liberal” Democrats, and Progressives. That’s just the truth. Progressives are feeling very alone right now, but so be it.
True progressives see domestic policies and foreign policies as a unified whole–i.e. Military oppression abroad, economic repression at home—“It is all one”.
Too many Conservatives still despise the social safety net, and seem to fear a multiracial society, which Progressives see as natural and positive.
So togetherness is difficult between Conservative-Libertarians and Progressives.
This is partly because Conservative-Libertarians seem to basically AGREE with the Neoliberal DNC Democrats on the termination of the social safety net (the Neolibs just want to do it a bit slower and “gentler” than the Conservatives).
Progressives will ALWAYS want to strengthen the safety net, and may be ideologically almost alone on this. Again, so be it.
As I said before,I think the clearest voice for true Progressives is Chris Hedges. Others would be, Thomas Frank, Michael Hudson, Robert Scheer, Richard D Wolff, Ray McGovern, Lawrence Wilkerson, and even Oliver Stone.
ALL of these people have written and spoken powerfully, and intelligently, against Obama, the Clintons, the Neocons, corporatism, and the US deep-state. Also, they have, in many cases, expressed trepidations about Trump, at least partly for the reasons I described above.
Progressives and Libertarian-Conservatives (as exemplified by Paul Craig Roberts) do have areas of agreement, and possibly could be strong allies, at least on some issues.
But we will have to unify under the leadership of someone of substance, with great presence-of-mind and vast knowledge of what we face, and an ability to bring people together from BOTH sides of the political spectrum.
Also, someone who can take an insult with a smile, not be distracted, and just keep on pushing towards the goal.
I just don’t see anybody of that description on the political right anymore.
On the left, there may be a few possibilities. Maybe.
But Progressives cannot abide the “white-power” crowd, any more than Conservatives seem able to abide some of the values and priorities of Progressives, especially regarding the social safety net.
So the Neocons still do not have to face a UNIFIED adversary.
How nice for them.
Saker, When you wrote on the 14th, your analysis was so good I was troubled, not seeing how he will play out. But it seems that much more is happening that he is responsible for, in which Flynn may be just a relative pawn: Exclusive Interview With DHS Insider http://theinternationalreporter.org/2017/02/17/pizzagate-upates-17th-february/ For example this Q& A:
Q. It seems the intel community has it in for Trump – is this your feeling?
A. There are many Trump supporters within the FBI. The CIA, however, is against Trump because Trump threatens to ruin their game in the middle east.
Q. Can you elaborate?
A. CIA and Mossad work in tandem with British intel. The goal for the CIA was to replace Assad with a puppet and to topple Iran so we could access their oil. Israel works closely with it’s “sister”, Saudi Arabia, to help this dark cause.
Q. So it seems like the intel community has it in for Trump. How can he protect himself?
A. Trump has a tremendous opportunity here, but needs to circle wagons. The travel ban included 7 countries chosen by both Jared Kushner and Rudy. Why did it not include Saudi Arabia, or Pakistan, or Turkey or other countries that hate us? The seven nations mentioned were chosen by Israel, that’s why. And the unspoken alliance of Israel and Saudi Arabia should be exposed. They are brother and sister. Jared Kushner needs to be careful with what he says and to whom. But, the biggest thing Trump can do is expose PedoGate via Sessions. Big names will go down hard, and it gets the blood suckers drained from the swamp. There are as many pedophiles on the Republican side as there is with democrats, but Trump is in a unique position to truly “clean up Dodge”, so to speak. I can tell you that what is in Anthony Weiner’s hard drive, and what videos exist via Jeffery Epstein, Will Bring massive arrests – in time. Trump’s legacy could be truly great if he was to purge the CIA, stop the extortion, prosecute the pedophiles and reinstate the death penalty for pedo’s convicted a second time. Pedogate is his path to greatness.
Trump is and always has been a front man for the Kosher Nostra Zionist mob, and anyone who took the time to research his history with them, would see it. The got the American people to believe that they put him in office, when in fact that is far from the truth. The reverse psychology media marketing campaign and a lot of major corruption is what put him in office… again playing the front man.
All though I am disappointed as someone who voted for Trump that he didn’t stand up for Flynn (All though I agree that Flynn was deeply flawed on policy towards China and Iran) I must note that here in the States many Trump supporters believe Flynn is the good soldier who fell on his Sword to protect the President. I have never fully trusted Trump but I cannot help but believe that he is fully aware of the CIA/Deep State/Neocon attempt at a soft coup against him. He’s shaking up things at the State Department just to in the last five days. He knows McCain and Graham went to Kiev right before Kiev launched its latest assault in Donbass and now we have McCain in Munich denouncing Trump. I don’t believe Donald Trump is dumb. I also think the Deep State fifth columnists within his Administration (including Pence) are actively undermining and sabotaging Trump and possibly even announcing his foreign policy without his advance knowledge or approval. I think the Deep State has hijacked the Trump Administration and it’s even possible that they’ve threatened his life or the lives of his wife and children. I don’t put anything past them. That doesn’t mean I don’t have my doubts about Trump because I’ve always had my doubts about Trump however if the Deep State has him by the balls as you say or believes to have him by the balls I can’t see a guy like Trump just passively submitting to them
Maybe, although there is considerable speculation that it wasn’t only the Deep State that wanted Flynn out, but the Administration as well. He was viewed as a loose cannon, and specifically, his putting Iran “on notice” and threatening retaliation against Iran for supposedly arming the Houthi. Also, that someone with Flynn’s experience (we’ll get to high IQ in a minute) did not know, or did not care, that his conversation with the Russian ambassador was being monitored, recorded, analyzed, parsed and sent on to the Spin Room with specific instructions, is either a moron, a fool, or a “loose cannon.” Finally the issue of “high IQ”. What? Someone who writes an openly Islamaphobic book with Michael Ledeen? Michael Ledeen? How clueless are you? Flynn is a dumb and dangerous punk. Right. He made his name by sending JSOC goons to raid Afghan villages in the middle of the night, terrorize and brutalize innocent people. He’s a Crusader. Did the Deep State get him? Good. And I hope they get Bannon. Let them devour each other and hopefully there will be a world around to put back together after they finish. No one said the end of Empire would be pretty.
Thanks for the synopsis. I thought it was strange too, when Flynn stepped down. I do see were our National Security wouldn’t want flack with Iran, though. The Iran Deal was a hallmark move (the $ was theirs’s, allowed back to them). They never were interested in nuclear war. Trump is very invested in nuclear weapons, as we see with his expansion. He’s profiting privately, and he’s giving favors. We didnt need to expand. We had much more power than Russia. Their breadbasket in the Ukraine is vulnerable. They don’t have an unfrozen shore to store submarines. Their economy is on the skids, except for mountains of diamonds, and resources in Siberia. Gosh, I hate geopolitics.
OK Saker! You have a lot of knowledge about the inner working’s of the government I will give that to you, but do you really believe Trump is just going to roll over and play dead I don’t think so! And If they think there going to control Trump all I can say is good luck with that.
It reminds me of when perot ran for president My father a elected Official…Of the old republican days…said the problem with Parot if he becomes president is…How is he going to get things done?..he doesn’t have friends in the republican party..and none in the democrat either they all are each other’s friends…..he is a outsider…..Thus Trump if he had early success he might have people jump on the bandwagon…but when they saw how easy he turned…they now know they got him…thus they dont have to have anything to hold themselves to him.
Trump is part of the PTB (deep state) pushing Russia and China apart under the Bush / Clinton Administrations was not happening fast enough. Trump offers the PTB another option and they will try that.
The deep state includes Chaney, Kissinger, GHWB, and nine others. They may have been transferred, I guess they’ll live quit a while longer. They habitats deep underground bunkers in the Virginia mountains. You’re right that they crawled out to subvert the election. I wish they’d crawl back in their subterranean lairs and doodle with their AI driven real lifelike manakins made to resemble human children.
