All the glorious wannabe defenders of the Independent Ukraine are all on the run. Literally. Rumors include that airlines are not insured to fly in Ukie airspace, over 30 oligarchs have already evacuated in their private jets, western embassies are running from Kiev to Lvov, the media publishes invasion maps almost every day, western officials seems to think that the invasion is for tomorrow or Wednesday, folks from the OSCE and World Bank are evacuating too, the Ukies are training their civilians on how to pack for a shelter and how to shoot a wooden Kalashnikov, etc. etc. etc. I won’t list all the grotesque nonsense the Zone A media is full of – you can look it up yourself.
I also have A LOT of catching up to do, which is not made easier by one of my kids testing positive for COVID, (but in mild presentation, thank God). So just a few bullet points from me right now:
- Considering all the hype, and considering that there are still exactly zero signs of any special Russian military activity (except in the Far East where the Russian Navy had to kick out a Virginia class SSN out of Russian waters, the Yanks left at flank speed) there is a lot of people which will look very very stupid by Thursday morning we all wake up to humongous… …nothing. Which in plain English means that the Anglos are now truly desperate for a provocation at/near the LDNR (or even Russia proper). I think that it is prudent and logical to assume that the Anglos will come up with something in the next 48 hours.
- As predicted, nobody in the West wants to die for Banderastan. So we can assume that Lvov will become the temporary imperial command post for the Ukraine for at least the foreseeable future.
- Since western IT giants work hand in hand with Uncle Shmuel, we also should assume that once the provocation is executed, wild and totally contradictory rumors will immediately be spread, deliberately or by the many legions of armchair generals who think they understand modern warfare.
- In very sharp contrast to the US/NATO/EU and their hysterics and generalized infighting, the Russians seems to be very calm and determined. There are signs that the Russian Duma will ask the Kremlin to recognize and/or seriously arm the LDNR in the near future.
- Lavorv has officially categorically rejected the US reply and sent one last clarification to all the western governments/ Lavrov and Putin agreed that that there is “still is a last chance left for a negotiated solution” and they have sent an important written text, 10 pages, to their western counterparts. But they also made it clear that if “Biden” is just running down the clock then Russia will take action. By the tone of the announcement, this is probably the very last effort the Kremlin will make to try to avoid a catastrophe in the Ukraine unless, of course, folks in the West get serious and quickly engage in meaningful discussions about Russia’s “red lines”.
- Defense Minister Shoigu has announced that the Russian military exercises were partially completed and will continue to wind down over the coming days.
- The German Chancellor is coming to Moscow tomorrow.
That’s it for me for right now.

Let’s see what happens next.
Andrei
PS: just to refresh your memory, here are a few good ones:
Apparently, CNN (broadcast) is claiming Ze has announced that Russia will absolutely, positively invade on Wed. Feb.16., curiously, the story isn’t on their web site. So stay tuned, I guess
Mhh, the Ukrainian gov said the president was only being sarcastic aka. *joking*. This is like Borat real-life.
They probably pulled it because a presidential aide claims it was “said in irony “..
https://twitter.com/disclosetv/status/1493316804655165440?s=20&t=YSGBHW21yht3lXuCJSX4bg
What if they gave a false flag and nobody came?
Then it will end up like this Mr Bean cartoon:
https://twitter.com/SenekaSpiro/status/1492954140359770113?s=20&t=extNeGP6EG-JoQXm-Y9ORg
Which actually would be a nice way for this to end…
I cannot help but laugh at that one.
There are now loads around. Here is another.

But this one of course is part of staged propaganda and it has a story. Funny nevertheless.
@Black Cloud.
“The barbarians are due here today.
Why isn’t anything going on in the senate?
Once the barbarians are here, they’ll do the legislating.
Why don’t our distinguished orators turn up as usual
to make their speeches, say what they have to say?
Why this sudden bewilderment, this confusion?
(How serious people’s faces have become.)
Why are the streets and squares emptying so rapidly,
everyone going home lost in thought?
Because night has fallen and the barbarians haven’t come.
Now what’s going to happen to us without barbarians?
Those people were a kind of solution.

Theoretically something could indeed happen on February 16, or some days later. If you look at the methods employed by Western governments and media, you will notice that Bismarckian tactics are in full swing, where innocents are declared aggressors and aggressors are declared innocents. Why ? The answer is simple. The world is being psychologically prepared for war and Russian “aggression”.
The West is directing the worlds attention to the Russian military and saying nothing about the Ukrainian military positioned near the Donbass (150.000 men according to two sources). Simple, yet perfidious tactics are being employed, ie. the Ukrainian military will attack the Donbass, Russia would certainly respond (directly or indirectly) and in the process be declared an “aggressor”, giving way to additional sanctions, where the intent is to weaken Russia economically and financially and bring Europe closer to the US by having all trade terminated with Russia. However, as analysts have pointed out, such a course of action would cause more damage to EU countries than to Russia, not to mention Asia, which will see it’s gas supplies diverted to Europe.
This is nothing but show for the American people to divert
Their attention away from the economic disaster unfolding in the United States, with inflation running at record levels and due to get worse, they are watching their paychecks buy less and less with most seeing no increase in their hourly pay. With the riots after the Super Bowl which seems to be the normal staple, they need something like a war or rumors of a war to keep the minds that is they have one off from the conditions at home.
All roads lead to Moscow these days. Actions are louder than words.
Precisely! The rats are running from the Ukraine and everyone who is anyone is on the carpet in the Kremlin.
“ on the carpet in the Kremlin”.
Lol
Being “carpeted” and “on the carpet” in the corporate world mean a nasty performance “appraisal” by an extremely angry “higher up”.
Kinda fitting, in these circumstances
I would not call Mossad and other western specialists as rats, while ditching town, it is not appropriate.
If Vladimir Putin does nothing, in 6 months there will be Patriot or THAAD missiles in the Ukraine. In a year from now the situation in the Ukraine and also in Europe in general would be significantly worse for Russian security.
Yes, and Unfortunately this entire drama, was a successful ploy to further insert weapons and NATO assets into Ukraine
Patriot and THAAD are some pieces of junk. Russia already has countermeasures for them.
The Internationale,
I share your concern.
Russia demanded resolution to two primary issues (1) No NATO membership for Ukraine (2) no U.S.-NATO intermediary surface-to-surface missile platforms that can be dual equipped with conventional and nuclear warheads installed in Eastern Europe.
Has Russia achieved that? So far, no, she hasn’t.
Even though Ukraine may never become a recognized member of NATO, NATO assets are still in Ukraine. NATO missile batteries in Poland, Romania, etc. have not been dismantled either.
Even during the Cuban missile crisis, the U.S, removed Jupiter missiles from Turkey.
See: https://natowatch.org/default/2012/cuban-missile-crisis-nato-nuclear-weapons-turkey-then-and-now .
Russia’s national security remains in jeopardy.
We patiently wait for the next installment of this drama that is definitely not over.
Pelosi declares victory ….. of course and as predicted by many:
https://www.zerohedge.com/geopolitical/pelosi-just-gave-game-away-over-ukraine
Christian Rieck, Professor, specialized in „Game Theory“ shows in a very good analysis what the game is up to. And give an assessment how it will likely end.
Good news for us: No war. Small restriction: according to the rules of the game …..
Unfortunately only in German and no English subtitles available (at least currently):
https://youtu.be/gphoRPhipjE
But worth it! There are heads and brains in Germany …. But you have to look very carefully to find them.
I think that the heroic and strong Joe Biden should be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for preventing Putin from invading Ukraine……………or not.
Who cares, the Yanks love optics, and if they have to cover their sorry asses in this manner then its a small price to pay for a peaceful and successful, for Russia and the peaceful peoples of the World , outcome.Anybody who has a heart, soul and reasonable powers of deduction knows this.
If the Yanks love optics, how about giving them a kinzhal or two in the face.
The sweet-sauce for this, is that only a few weeks ago the Empire started screaming that Russia was evacuating their embassy, implying this meant Russia was gonna start an offensive.. of course that NATO stooges now do the same does not imply that they are about to start a provocation – cognitive dissonance is a wonderful drug!
Russia and China are also empires.
Only Russia is also a superpower.
I suppose that depends on how you measure a superpower. There are 5 basic types of empire; military, trade, religious, cultural and scientific. If I had to rate the USA, I would rate them in order as Military/Trade. If I had to rate China it would be Trade/Cultural. Russia is a bit harder to define due to the synergy between culture and religion but I would tend to rate Russia mostly as Military/Cultural. The now collapsed British empire tended more to Trade/Military.
Right now I would rate China as the number 1 trade superpower but would agree that Russia is the current military superpower.
China: number 1 trade superpower
Russia: current military superpower
How fitting they signed a “marriage” contract in Beijing.
I wonder what will happen when Russia officially recognizes Novorussia as an independent state?
Will Ukies dare to make a suicide charge to “take it back”? Or will Zelensky act like a sane person and finally agree to sign Minsk deal?
It looks like everyone is leaving the Ukraine, even it’s own politicians. Of course, the only ones to stay will be poor, helpless and innocent or actually crazy enough to fight against (Novo)Russia.
Short reply: Same story as Crimea. The Ukronazis misjudged their own abilities and, most notably, the loyalty of Western sponsorship to their cause. Ukraine is fragmenting, and Russia can rightfully take back whatever she wants there. The time is fast approaching when the huge bluff will be called.
Israel and the USA gave the world the military/political assassination by drone.
A warning letter delivered personally to the political leaders, their manipulators, and their media monkeys who are responsible for the blatant warmongering, might serve to concentrate minds a bit.
Punishing a whole population with war is a bit excessive when the guilty ones are so few
That’s always been true, but leaders don’t like killing each other … because then they are dead.
If the Ukies do guerrilla/ ranger warfare, don’t you use drones. Rus has countermeasures, but rangers would not. No reason to send personnel; send the drones.
Hysteria now is at top level also in colonies like Italy: after months of silence about Ukraine, now all tv channels are full of “experts” and maps with the arrows indicating the attack lines from north, south, est, south-est. Insane. Everyone is sure that Wednesday will be the d-day. It is not even funny because the mix of ignorance and arrogance is unbearable, now I understand your (you and Andrei Martyanov) disappointment with these western experts of Russia. One guy stated that if Russia cannot sell gas to Europe, she will have no more clients and will be in danger.. This reminded your map comparing the “international community” according to the West.
Anyway, let us hope for the best, and I wish your child a fast recovery, but take care of yourself also.
Gianluca Cris,
Well you’re not alone watching propaganda being unleashed against Russia by Uncle Shmuel media…right here in Iran there are large numbers of Persian speaking zio-paid satellite channels constantly shouting about an imminent invasion by Putin’s army against poor defenseless Ukrainians and of course no mention of any Nazi-affiliated Ukrainian gangs who started it etc…Fortunately the bigger portion of the population don’t give a hoot about this nonsense. It’s obvious that Uncle Shmuel is doing its hardest to place a wedge between Russia – Iran relations by using the good old British technique called divide and rule.
Will they dare to make a nuke or chimic plant explose, with thousands casualty in accusing Russian or Donbass forces?
And if they do that, what could be the Russian reaction ?
Terrible days.
Terrible are the brains that produce such thoughts. )))
The answer is, of course not, and “it’s obvious.” America USA is a coward, not a suicide!
There will be a second Afghanistan for the United States, then the withdrawal of NATO troops to the borders of 1997 – we are not throwing words into the wind.
God hear you.
I appreciate the analyses from the Saker. CNN, BBC, Guardian et all are so ridiculous – they have no shame.
I can’t help thinking that all this hysteria is actually a very deliberate ‘setting the stage’. Their intel agencies would surely know the reality. All the ‘standing shoulder to shoulder’ tough guys suddenly running about like headless chickens? This all seems a bit too fishy.
The western media seems to be all suspiciously very ‘on message’ too. Like everyone is reading from a pre-prepared script. The UK, Australian and Canadian embassies all got the word in the ear from their U.S. boss (were pressured into compliance) and the great departure began.
Something is going to happen and it will be blamed on Russia and the details (the truth) will quickly be lost in 24/7 wall-to-wall media hysterics about the ‘Reds are coming’. Cue sanctions, Nordstream II closure, U.S troops and weapons installed everywhere and American imperial rule cemented over the EU for the next half-century.
Lots of ex-Soviet trucks and APC’s left abandoned for years in warehouses will suddenly be rediscovered and hastily re-sprayed with Russian markings. ‘Wag the dog’ here we come.
I hate to say it, but I think the Yanks and their vassals are going to get away with it yet again. When it comes to evil, conniving, Machiavellian twisted schemes, ‘The West’ have had two centuries or more of practice looting and manipulating ex colonies.
That’s why this time their evil must come with a price. A very, very, big and costly price.
Otherwise, the world won’t endure another 50 years under the tyrranical rule of USA.
It absolutely can not. Because that would mean a nuclear war, and that cannot be allowed to happen. Either the American Empire will continue, or it will decline. If you think it is evil, do what you can to cause that decline. That is what a person can do.
There’s obviously a shortage of mirrors in America. Even your self-inflicted decline isn’t self-inflicted. You can’t even take responsibility for your own relentless global warmongering criminality. The perfect example of an aggressor playing victim. Oh, and don’t worry about those 5k warheads. A UN task force will move in and secure those (led by Chinese and Russian peacekeepers- tee hee) whilst you’ll all be shooting and lynching one another and choking on your hot dogs.
OK, so the West succeeds in blaming Russia. If Russia is not ready for that by now, I don’t know when she would be. So, who cares? All that matters is to survive (that is, avoid a nuclear war) and develop an economy that does not depend on the West.
Russia needs to be much more welcoming to entrepreneurs, and it needs a new Central Bank President and policy that will stop starving the economy of money. Keep working with China and any Europeans that want to do so. It does seem a shame, since I think of Russia as a European Country (I could give a long list of Scientists, Mathematicians, Artists that are integral to the late-stage development of European Civilization), and the culture of China to be completely alien, but it is, what it is
Russia needs to nationalize all banks
Start with the Fed and the ECB, otherwise it’s pointless. )))
At least for now – in the foreseeable future.
Plus create local banks similar to the landesbanks of Germany, and regional banks like the bank of north Dakota.
https://ellenbrown.com/?s=bank+of+north+dakota
“CNN, BBC, Guardian et all are so ridiculous – they have no shame”
oh brother, they are laughable but the extent to which they do the bidding of the intelligence services is actually quite disturbing. Ridiculous but I guess the masses are not awakened yet and just accept this garbage.
I can tell you Boris that I can’t stop laughing at this patently ridiculous propaganda. And I thought the Iraq war propaganda was rock bottom. Is there any depth?
I’ll bet 30 to 40 percent aren’t swallowing this nonsense or at least are questioning it.
I am of the same mind as you, Boris. The tripe being dished up in the MSM is laughable, but what is disturbing is the way in which they are all dishing up identical offal.
They don’t even try to hide it.
All of the media – all of them – don’t just pump out the same message. They all mouth exactly the same catch-phrases and buzzwords.
They aren’t making any attempt to disguise that they are stenographers for the USA’s three-letter-agencies.
Basically, those intelligence agencies could stage a coup tomorrow and anyone in the USA who relied on the mainstream press would not even know it had happened.
I fear you are right, thats the way i have read the white noise coming from the usual suspects,i just hope the Russians can call this out when it happens, the propaganda has been at Goebbels level for a long time, not to mention all the other false flags, many of the population in my Country are incapable of rational thought, they have been dumbed down.
Marc,
… but I should disagree with your conclusion. The last time the Yanks and their vassals managed to get away cause they still held powerful ideas that were quite attractive to large numbers of poor/backward nations who naturally looked forward to a more prosperous and better life by let’s call it the American dream. Indeed that material dream worked wonders for millions of people – ( by the way shouldn’t forget the huge contributions of the USSR, such as universal education, health coverage, sports etc.) Today however, the Yanks and their vassals do not have any such good cards. Today, their best offer seems to be the constant attempt at brainwashing people around the world to listen to their LGBHT,…etc. stories and diatribes. People don’t want to have anything to do with this LGBHT Empire. Sorry but the Anglo is doomed. No chance for revival.
Hoping your son will get well soon.
I pray for speedy recovery for kid. Plenty of warm water with lemon. Avoid any cold drink of food. Vitamin D from sun is better.
Thanks for your calm and logical analysis in crazy and chaotic world.
Although, as many say the new variants are easy natural immunization, I would add to the above lemon drink, a homemade recipe easy and complementary : take the rinds of 3 lemons, the rinds of 3 grapefruits, boil them for 2 hours, strain. You have your hydroxychloroquin. It keeps in the fridge. ¡Salut!
In case Western embassies really are leaving Kiev for Lvov, that is great news. Galicia is an utter piece of garbage and hence a most appropriate location to be hosting all the brave defenders of independent Ukraine. Galicia’s hardcore Ukronazis will be elated and rightly so.
Since earlier today, there is news in Serbian media, referring to the Greek Ministry of foreign affairs announcement reported by Reuters, about 4 killed and wounded Greek soldiers close to the demarcation line to Donbass in an incident with Ukraine forces.
The announcement dismiss any connection to the Donbas conflict and describes it as a quarrel about some trivial thing that led to a killing and wounding of Greek soldiers. Three Ukraine soldiers were involved.
Those oligarchs are making Zekensky look good! This kinda undermines the Kiev regime dosen’t it, in the eyes of the people, that in their time of need the oligarch masters run away like cowards. Mind you theyve seen the US and UK cowards desert the battlefied over the weekend so maybe they think it is now appropriate to do so also.
My, my, the people will be on the edge of revolt at this betrayal surely.
This here false flag could be a bad one if the country is emptying itself of everyone but the plebs. Small tactical nuke? The americans are so rabid and so incompetent that I wouldn’t put it past them.
In Spanish Bandera (Flag), and that ironically its greatest national hero is called Stepan Andriyovych Bandera, can be a Bandera Falsa (false flag) or the Bandera Blanca (white flag) of surrender.
I will make you happy!
The real surname is not “Bandera”, but “Bander”, which in Yiddish means “the owner of the brothel.”
And the real name is not Stepan, but Stefan.
According to the Dutch historian B. Obrushansky, who studied Bandera’s biography for three years, Stefan Bander [a] is a Jew baptized into Greek Catholicism (conversion), a Uniate.
Father Adrian Bandera is a Greek Catholic from the bourgeois family of Moishe and Rosalia (nee – Beletskaya, by nationality – Polish Jew) Bander.
The mother of the Ukrainian nationalist leader Miroslava Glodzinska is also a Polish Jew.
The meaning of the name Bandera is explained quite simply. Although modern-day nationalists translate it as “banner”, but in Yiddish it means … “brothel”. And it has nothing to do with Slavic or Ukrainian surnames. This is the Hebrew nickname for the woman who owned the brothel. Such women were called “banders”.
Stefan Bander[a] lived all his life with a German passport. Bandera had no territorial relationship to either Petliura’s or pre-war Soviet Ukraine, for the liberation of which he allegedly fought. By the way, it was precisely because of German citizenship that Bandera in 2011 was deprived of the title of Hero of Ukraine, awarded by President Viktor Yushchenko. According to Ukrainian legislation, only a citizen of Ukraine can have the title of Hero. And Stefan Bandera was a “European” from birth. And he died before the emergence of a modern independent national-fascist amero-Ukraine, whose authorities would certainly have given him a passport
Saker,
Good to have you back! Hope the best for your family’s health.
Here’s my two cents –
It’s clear that this is a massive psyop being generated out of DC and London. RT was saying that the purpose of this psyop is to goad Russia into an attack on Ukraine. If Russia does not attack, so the reasoning goes, the Biden (War Inc., Deep State) can claim victory. After all, they forced those mean and evil Ruskies to back off. If that’s what they really believe, they are truly smoking something. But given the amplification of their views throughout the corporate media of the USA, I would not be surprised.
I’m not sure where all of this leads to, however. NATO seems a nebulous amorphous blob under the control of a man named Stoltenberg. The “coalition” of 30 nations appears to have only four legitimate power sources – DC, London, Paris, and Germany – and only DC and London appear to be represented by “the Stoltenberg.”
The primary argument put forth by DC, London, and “the Stoltenberg” is that Ukraine is a sovereign “democratic” nation that should be permitted to join NATO if it wants. But what is sovereignty? Was Iraq a sovereign country when the USA bombed it in 1991, sanctioned medicine and food in the 90s, and invaded it in 2003 and still occupies it? What about Afghanistan? Was it a sovereign country when the USA invaded it in 2001 and bombed it back to the stone age? What about Syria, where the USA invaded it continues to have illegal bases on its soil while extracting its mineral wealth without permission – literally stealing from Syria. What about Venezuela, which despite elections, was told its leader was Juan Guaido, a guy who had never stood for national office? And what about Venezuela’s $1 billion in gold that was absconded by the Bank of England? Let’s not forget the USA overthrow of democratically elected leaders in Honduras, Bolivia, Brazil, and Ukraine over the last decade. Are they sovereign nations? How is it that the USA and its punk little brother, the UK, have the right to determine sovereignty for other countries but Russia cannot make demands of a nation led by USA-installed NAZI leaders? It seems that sovereignty is only determined by whether you accede to the demands of the Anglo-Saxon elites in the USA and the UK!
Perhaps more importantly, why is Russia not pointing out this glaring consistency???
It’s interesting to see as one possible response Russia’s consideration of arming the Donbass with lethal weapons. I certainly think this should be done ASAP. After all, the USA and UK appear indifferent to Russia’s demands and continue to arm Ukraine. And just this morning, Jake Sullivan is suggesting the US taxpayer underwrite loans of up to $1 billion for Ukraine. Why? I’m sure it’s to line the pockets of War, Inc. Depressing….
Awaiting Russia’s responses. I hope they’re good ones!
The Kansan
I think the Russians have finally realized something that you do not seem to have done. That is, their words mean almost nothing. They are not good at propaganda. So, say some words (maybe a couple of Europeans will listen) but do not agonize over these arguments.
Everything you have written is known by anyone with a brain. OK, maybe saying it again, will get a couple more people thinking. What matters now for Russia is action, not words. It will be very tricky. The Russians better hope their leaders are up to the task.
I would disagree. As Saker says “war is 80% informational, about 15% economic and about 5% kinetic.” Put me in Saker’s camp. And that is why Russia needs to make a strong “informational” argument against the NATO (USA/UK) concept of sovereignty. For example the British Empire was not about sovereignty. Nor is the 20th Century USA Pacific Island conquests of the Philippines, Hawaii, the Solomon Islands, Diego Garcia, post-war Japan, and South Korea.
While I’ve seen Russia make arguments based on USA lies at the UN about Iraqi WMDs, the list of USA/UK transgressions against sovereignty is long and should be recited every time the USA/UK/NATO barks about sovereignty. The world should (must) be reminded constantly about the long list of two-faced doublespeak that comes from DC and London.
It is surely difficult to disseminate information in a west that is dominated by western controlled communications systems. Witness the persecution of RT which is a mediocre tabloid…….well its been said here many times.
Elsewhere troves of facts have been published , including here in the Vineyard,an invaluable mine of such.
Assimilation of such information is not for everybody, nor do working people of the west have such time to do much except slump infant of the TV after the dinner is finished when home from a hard day.
This is the crux,,,, Media monopoly. Of course this can be countered by knowledgable and patient friends and respected ones ,organic albeit, but very effective
Its one thing saying Russia should,Russia could, etc. While its quiet another to offer solutions that would actually be realistically implementable.
Do you have any suggestions?
I might add, although slightly off topic but relevant, that the Chinese leadership is well aware of how the Anglo Zionist machine operates on every level.
In my opinion they, the leadership, have known this for a very very long time but only recently has this knowledge found its way to the people on the street. This has happened exponentialy since Chinese started travelling internationally.
in increasing numbers and returning home with the real story of what they had seen beyond the monuments and artefacts of empire, on the streets and in having to do business with the resident mafia ……go figure, its not rocket science. Of course we might guess, now that the ratchet has been tightened, that there will be a free flow of this kind of info allowed through the “great firewall”.
Yes 1836-39 and 1856-60, The Opium Wars still rankle. English East India Company & Jardine & Matheson. Only just getting Hong Kong back 2 decades ago.
I have seen that perspective, promoted in particular by the Carnegie Center in Moscow:
If war breaks out Biden will get his “war presidency” and if no war breaks out he can claim he deterred Putin…
But what happens if Russia recognises the Donbass republics. Then Biden and the West get neither and have only succeeded in making a political situation much worse…what happens then?
And what if war does break out? How do they plan to contain it? What will they do if they start losing?
It doesn’t seem like anyone in the West has thought this through..
Biden, like all US presidents since Theodore Roosevelt, dreams of buying the Nobel Peace Prize.
Nobody that they told us about on main stream media.
Its quiet possible that their collective ‘MICIMAT”brains have begun to approach meltdown given the scenarios and consequences, they are being forced to consider, the Donbass being recognised by the Duma being only one of many such.
Overreach is a very unbalancing act and will always fail in history and human endeavour.
Look around you and see the remains of grandiosity and how they stand now.
Ireland is littered with burnt out super mansions from the “Sasanach”(Anglo Zionist in Gaelic)
Burnt out after 7 centuries of murder pillage rape and 3 genocides. They are a reminder that such things are not forgotten anywhere these devils went.
This is now coming home to roost.
Hi Serbian girl,
Instead of Russia recognising the independence of LDNR (which gives Mr Ze wriggle-room to say Minsk no longer applies), what’s to stop RF recognising LDNR as the true government of Ukraine? If USA can recognise the ‘Random Guaido’ for Venezuela, why can’t RF recognise who they wish as the true Ukrainian government? I’d very much appreciate your thoughts.
No lie is too fantastic…No slander is too stale…for employment by the utterly corrupt and immoral US Media…
I am under a strange impression tonight.
Listening to Shoigu and Lavrov reporting to Putin tonight, it appeared to me that the West will most likely escape the trap they put themselves in with that nonsense invasion by using the end of the Russian military drills to picture it as the so called de-escalation they pressured Russia about.
It would then all have been only a farce PR, and we’ve all been fooled all along, including by the Russian leadership. I all of sudden recall the most embarrassing meetings some years ago in NYC between war criminal Kissinger and Russian actual leaders.
“It would then all have been only a farce PR, and we’ve all been fooled all along”
I think at the high level of diplomacy, these “face saving” measures are important to help tone down the tensions and allow everyone to avoid unnecessary risks. I wouldn’t mind passing as someone who has been “fooled” as long as the right side gets at the end what they deserve, and situation gets resolved in a less traumatic way.
Besides, to me, this blog is one very fine way not to get “fooled”. There are many comments here to give a broad view of the situation. If you count on the main media, however, it is indeed disgusting.
“Mission Accomplished.”
Yeah, I am not sure about that move either. It could be Russia saying to the crazies in the SBU and the Interior ministries who run the spets-ops, “if you want to attack Donbas, now is your chance”. Of course Moscow would make them pay dearly. More probable scenario is that Moscow has intel that Kiev has abandoned the “Nagorno-Karabakh style excellent adventure” (see here, https://nationalinterest.org/feature/why-washington-has-lost-its-mind-over-ukraine-200513 ) being left by Washington in the lurch. Be it as it may be the show is not over because the main issues are unresolved and will continue to fester even with the noise down.
Very dangerous week!
Case Roole
Given that America ordered Ukrainian airspace to be closed (don’t give me that crap of insurance companies as if they thought this up themselves), ordered all underling embassies to be evacuated, ordered all underlings to tell their citizens to leave Ukraine, and even got their soldiers out (now that’s something America normally doesn’t do) I take any theory that America is planning to do something extremely violent seriously.
https://vk.com/wall430236817_3482
To clarify, The Pentagon ordered 160 National Guard troops to leave 404. The NG are not regular US Army and are based in the individual States. The more numerous US SPECOPS troops are still there somewhere, doing something.
Under current rules, the NG cannot be deployed ex-USA, unless Congress has declared a State of War, which it hasn’t done since WW2. Police actions, stabilizing forces, etc. and so on.
There is already a movement among the Governors of the US States to have that rule enforced.
No doubt the unconstitutional flu mandates triggered a general “we’re mad as hell, and we’re not going to take it” sentiment in some states.
An event where those 160 might be come casualties for the sake of a group of wannabe NAZIS initiating a major war, would give more power to that movement.
Censored yet again by microsoft news. Who knew the word wolfangel was on the list. Apparently every attempt to point out the soldiers logo of the grandma ak47 training her is forbiddden. Now thats open information warfare.
yes it is.
once this mess is dealt with, Russia will have to get serious about having her own sovereign Internet.
Tous mes vœux pour votre enfant et toute vôtre famille.
Ils ont poussé le poker si loin qu’ils sont maintenant prisonniers de leurs fanfaronnades.
Saker,
First off, I wish a speedy and full recovery to your son. I also wish all your family to stay safe and healthy. My impression is we will all someday catch covid, but the effects will, hopefully, be milder as time goes on.
As for the current hysteria, I’m waiting in expectation for thursday to come. The one thing that was / is worrying me is the reports by the russian officials (I forget who) about an imminent false flag. Other than that, I still think there is a lot of smoke screen and distracting tactics out there. From a report from the local media here, I got the impression that Lavrov was a little less harsh than you mentioned, as trying to give hope about a possible diplomatic agreement. The visit of the german MP Scholtz to Russia soon is one more thing to be (a little) hopeful for (and BTW, this and Macron’s last week visit are two reasons for part of the West hysteria). The fact that Russia is taking part of the troops now in Belarus back to Russia may be used by both sides to tone down the hysteria. The report I saw also mentioned that Lavrov said the last US offers contain some value, even though they don’t address all russian requests. According to the report, Lavrov also said that, although the US has given these offers, NATO and the OSCE haven’t yet.
The situation is a lot murky, and given the humongous hysteria from the West, a false flag may very well happen soon out of their desperation. But I keep thinking that perhaps what happened was a part of the deep state planned something, were caught (although not publicly), and the US had to scurry away to find something for damage control. What they did, of course, only increased the damage… I keep thinking the anticipation of the phone call between Putin and Biden to saturday, when it was planned for today, was a kind of desperate plea for Russia to help them to save face… That would be laughable, but also a great opportunity for Russia to get some favorable agreement. I’m in hypothesizing here, though.
The next few days should throw some light on all this mess.
I hope everyone stays safe.
Below follows a machine translation of part of the report I saw. The report itself is behind a pay wall, unfortunately.
———————
Whatever the truth, the signal was twofold, given by ministers of his government in televised meetings in the Kremlin – that is, there was an intention to pass a public message. In the first, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that Russia should continue negotiating with the West and that “there is a possibility of an agreement.” He told Putin that the U.S. has put forward “concrete proposals” to reduce tensions, but that NATO (a military club led by Washington) and the European Union have not yet followed that path.
After saying that Russia should not be “smooth talked” by the West in its demands, which are basically keeping Ukraine out of NATO and limiting the military position of former communist members who joined the bloc after 1999, he went to the point. “I think there’s always a chance [of an agreement]. And it seems to me that our possibilities are far from exhausted. At this point, I suggest that we continue to work on them,” Lavrov said.
Following that, Putin received Sergei Shoigu (Defense), who played in two camps. In diplomacy, he reported that “part of our military exercises are already ending,” a password that could mean some de-escalation.
On the other hand, Shoigu warned of an incident over the weekend, when Russian forces based in Vladivostok located an American submarine prowling Moscow’s territorial waters in the Pacific. The Pentagon has denied that its vessel was driven away by a Russian destroyer, as circulated in the Moscovite press, but the case shows that tension is everywhere.
“But I keep thinking that perhaps what happened was a part of the deep state planned something, were caught (although not publicly), and the US had to scurry away to find something for damage control.”
That’s exactly what happened ! Some time ago -a monthor so? Russia stated that it had information that the USA or Allies were planning an False flag operation. Weeks later & the USA is claiming the same thing against the Russians. I’m hoping for a fist of fury warning – get out of Syria within 72 hrs as we are clearing the area of uninvited armed groups. That should do it.
Saker, that worries me is that they (ukies, CIA, UK, etc) themselves out of despair will set up a false flag hoping that Russia openly intervenes then present this as an invasion by Russia. It is very suspicious that they are giving exact dates for the “invasion”
I almost want to belly laugh at this situation but the suffering of common people like me in Ukraine prevents me from doing so. Only now does it dawn on Ze that he is the organ grinder’s monkey. Sure the EU and NATO promised comprehensive support, now see as they scurry off their sinking pawn. This was never about EuropeanUnion–Ukraine Association Agreement but rather the destruction of Russia. Now see that the EU could careless about the destruction of Ukraine. There are signs that perhaps the government of Ukraine is being to wise up but it looks a little to late. The good news is the Russians have no intention of invading. The Ukrainian can save itself by exposing any attempt at a false flag operation by the Empire. Really the choice is clear, NATO has abandoned Ukraine. Just as predicted.
Like most of the empires actions they are multi layered, multi directional to bring about more than one outcome. Who says they can only play checkers. The destruction of Ukraine is no different. Pressure and break Russia, sell more guns and ammo, steal gold, take the Crim, pilfer, pillage and rape.
That went well for awhile until they pushed too hard and got a face full of shit for their trouble, but lots of people made good money for awhile. They still need to dump ukiland on Russia for many reasons, not only to hide their crimes but to distract the sheeple in the the states from the coming shit storm, 15% inflation, economic collapse, 25% unemployment and a very slow methodical special council by the name of John Durham.
(Economic stats are from shadowstats.com)
Durham smells blood and is circling a medium fish called Sullivan, yup that Sullivan. Apparently Durham is writing indictments. When he snags Sullivan that will ultimately lead to Clinton, Obama and our favorite senile uncle Biden, they are all neck deep not only in the conspiracy against Trump but Ukraine as well. And remember the Clintons are old hands at wagging the dog.
My guess there will be a provocation, and if that doesn’t work expect bodies to start piling up in DC, just ask Seth Rich. Sullivan must be feeling a very cold breeze blowing up his ass.
Thank you for bringing this up about Durham circling the Clinton gang.
This is another reason why there is so much hysteria – to distract from the Durham exposure of Clinton, Sullivan et al. Their whole “Russiagate” lies, spying and criminal behaviour are being exposed and in a classic Clinton move – look over there, war in Ukraine, details of a false flag (Sullivan), don’t look at what is going on over here as all of us are being exposed right now.
Russia wants NATO etc out of the Ukraine, NATO etc has agreed and is leaving. The scare is a cover, in a week NATO is out while never agreeing to leave.
Not just Ukraine but missile (defence***) systems in Romania, Poland and The Baltics (proposed). Leaving behind all that hardware in Ukraine will mean that Russian Inspectors will need to go in there once NATO departs and inspect those belated Christmas presents to the country. Wouldn’t want any nasty surprises would we?
Yes, but there is a order to things. First, Ukraine needs a free & fair election (LMAO) to gain a mandate (LMAO) to change it constitution and for everyone promise it independence & protection forever, some time after which it can disintegrate. With the Ukraine now as a buffer, the missiles bases can be removed and then NATO can agree that there is no need to “forward deploy” in EE.
As for the TOYS. here a link “explaining” (LMAO) why the USA can no longer build tanks. https://nationalinterest.org/blog/the-buzz/the-simply-scary-reason-the-us-army-cant-build-new-tank-20481 it was the top result on the BING search “why cant the usa build tanks anymore”
Whenever US retreated we had tantrums on UK side of duopoly. I do not see such behaviour these days. Only MSM pushing hysteria, unisonly.
Nope, they’re up to something, and it is not the retreat.
Saker, our prayers for healing are with your child, and you as well–you probably learned long ago that one of the quickest ways the evil ones can really, really hurt a parent is through a family member becoming ill.
We now commend to you a nugget–as it were– of fine gold : The Spiritual Combat, by Fr. Dom Lorenzo Scupoli, available as a “pdf” on line–goes back a few years, to 1589.
Do these lunatic defenders of democracy think that Lvov is far & safe from Russian weapons? Risible!
What Russia seeks is security guarantees from further east lurking of the old relic NATO and what the collective West talks 24/7 is invasion of Ukraine. Is that what they call controlling the information space?
Saker,
I found tea with lemon and/or ginger is good. You may try for your son.
A propos the stories about Iraqi nuclear weapons, Brian Cloughley (a retired officer in the UK and Australian armies) wrote the following in 2003:
“When in Doubt, Lie Your Head Off”
https://www.counterpunch.org/2003/08/29/when-in-doubt-lie-your-head-off/
It’s very well worth reading, now as then. Cloughley was “a reconnaissance and survey officer in a nuclear missile regiment in Germany, and commanded a troop of Honest Johns”. He explains in simple terms that what Blair and the others alleged was utterly impossible as well as untrue.
Proper reply to false flag and the following attack would be to do the necessary minimum with the ukies and simultaneously and publicly, with live broadcast, wipe out all the points of commands, obliterating every “instructor”, launch site and built up NATO presence in 3B+PU. Nothing less would wake up the people in the West and remind them of the imbeciles they left by the wheel.
And for the imbeciles, the only public statement should be that next targets in case of them not getting the message would not be the people of the West, but the imbeciles themselves, naming them by name and surname.
Yes, this will bring the world to the edge, but so did the Cuban crisis. World should either wise up or go to ashes.
We in Russia joke that the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation booked all restaurants in major cities of the ex-Ukrainian SSR for February 23 (public holiday – Day of the Soviet Army and Navy / Defender of the Fatherland Day).
@ Saker
“All the glorious wannabe defenders of the Independent Ukraine are all on the run. Literally…”
As we say in Texas, “all hat and no cattle.”
So, who is going to defend the “glorious” Ukraine? The babushkas? Ukronazis and their master-minders are using the Ukrainian people on a military porn show by pretending “training the masses” for a general defense of the country, as if having a weapon means you’re armed. Reckless and callous to use their own people as cannon fodder.
The hysteria has reached the max, we can expect anything to happen this week, even though Russia is giving peace a chance by offering further negotiations. If evacuations mean word has gotten out to the VIP a false flag is coming, Russia is ready for that too.
A waiting game…
Lone Wolf
Russia is also an empire and a superpower. China is just an empire.
And there are no more empires on earth – a triumvirate.
The conference between Putin, Lavrov and Shoigu was revealing in the sense that it was reported in the Western media where Lavrov seemed to be leaning towards “continued negotiations”. I think that the positive points that Lavrov mentioned about the USA government response can be distilled to nothing more than that they did respond in writing as requested. The good little American students put in their homework to the schoolmaster.
Such obedience to Russia’s demands and such attention to its responses suggests that the clueless Americans are paying rather more attention to getting this right than one would imagine they have to. Almost as if they know, but are not prepared to admit publicly, that there will be very serious consequences for them personally if they don’t perform.
A kinzhal that demolishes MI6 headquarters in London or the CIA at Langley could be what the Russians have in mind. Gets rid of a lot of “intelligence assets” but would be widely applauded by many in the West as most of the war mongers would be disposed of. Which politician would get public support to go to war with Russia if MI6 ceased to exist?
“A kinzhal that demolishes MI6 headquarters in London or the CIA at Langley could be what the Russians have in mind.”
No. It will not happen. Only in case of big kinetic offensive against Russia.
It would be more accurate to write – “Only in the event that preparations begin – a large kinetic offensive against Russia.”
Then the “enemy” is guaranteed to be delivered a “preemptive strike” “at the appointed time.”
Given our three-fold superiority in nuclear weapons strategic nuclear forces (charges and carriers) and 15-fold superiority of tactical nuclear weapons, then … the final is known, which certainly infuriates the United States and Co.
What about half a kinzhal or fire the kinzhal without the war heads, just enough scare to loosen the bowels of those sitting in their ivory towers?
If Russia were dependent on the EU for energy then a lot of Russians would be dying as well as paying through the nose for it, unlike those sweetheart deals Hungary & Austria have signed, further proof that Russia rewards loyalty.
Boris Johnson if he had any gumption should be cutting off Liz Truss’s arm to get that discounted gas, but no, too much pride to ask for handouts. Major power cut in London yesterday, a lot of folks locked in the basement fearing MSM’s predictions had come true. So many UK providers going out of business, electricity prices up 25% and likely to keep rising. Ordinary people have been offered a loan which must be paid back to pay their bills.
Ivory Towers, nah, it’s some kind of mental institution ]these clowns should be residing in.
I see 3 exit scenarios :
It would then all have been only a farce PR. As told by Arno above.
Russia wants NATO etc out of the Ukraine, NATO etc has agreed and is leaving. The scare is a cover, in a week NATO is out while never agreeing to leave. As told by Jack above and also suggested by the title of the post by Andrei.
Or a false flag?? Will they dare??
In all cases, but the last one, the power of russia armed forces supported by China has played the leading role in deterring the anglo. Absolutely incredible and truly historical. I am optimistic.
I was so optimistic too, and leaned towards scenario 2.
Then all this just came in. It appears a hard closure is needed by Feb 16:
(1) Ze declared a Day of Ukie Unity
https://www.rt.com/russia/549361-zelensky-ukraine-invasion-day/
“It is said that February 16 will be the day of the attack.”
Folks urged to fly flags, wear ribbons, sings songs (and wave flowers?). Is this a Ukie tradition whenever “a Wehrmacht” approaches? The key point is he is now on-board with the Invasion timetable. And the military is promised a 30% raise in March.
(2) Trudy declared a soft Martial Law in Canada
https://www.rt.com/news/549367-canada-trudeau-emergency-powers/
“it was the first time a Canadian government has invoked the Emergencies Act, which was passed in 1988 to replace the War Measures Act of 1914. The WMA was used during both world wars to intern Canadians of German and Japanese origin and impose restrictions on the economy, among other things. It was most recently invoked in 1970 by Trudeau’s father Pierre to crack down on Quebec separatists”
hyperbolic Hal is saying social media being blocked in Canada, but no independent confirmation. Freedom Convoys and what remains of dissent being rolled back.
(3) Markets appear to be tanking right now? Both stocks and bonds, which is black swan event. They cannot delay a Big Event to cover it.
(4) Feb 16 = 216 = 6x6x6
“And the military is promised a 30% raise in March”
If they’re foolish enough to orchestrate a false flag/attack the Donbass en masse in the coming days, Azovstan won’t have a military left come March.
Andrew you’re a tough negotiator! OK how about a 40% increase in April? lol
Ukraine has been lied to and misled by the USA who have now fled the scene.
The Ukrainians now want revenge against the USA and are in possession of all the evidence to incriminate Biden, his miscreant son, and all the other American politicians who were benefitting from kickbacks from aid to Ukraine.
Zelensky is not as powerless as some would like to assume. The dirty washing may be about to become public.
This is a system error – no one so-called. Ukraine did not deceive. On the contrary, it was she who deceived everyone – Russia and China, the EU and the USA (by the way, she will not give them money either). Before that, hohles deceived Russia, the Russian Empire, the Ottoman Empire, Salt speech, the Swedes … – everyone!
The announcement that will not be!
War? Ideas to the war? The hustle and bustle that is currently being spread deals with war. Russia does not need war to gain land. It needs security. It has enough land, huge amounts of land and sea borders to protect. The problem is NATO and the current leaders of Ukraine. There is sort of an elite in front of the president of Ukraine. Commonly called the Uki-Nazis. Now these are the people who are now using the arms supplies from the West to possibly carry out a false flag, while the West is hysterically screaming war and withdrawing ambassadors, calling on their citizens to leave Ukraine.
But wait. There are red lines from Russia. Russia is merely seeking a return to the foreign policy situation of 1997. Everything will not and does not have to happen overnight. And in my estimation, it will not be a matter of the Baltic countries leaving NATO (of course, that would be beneficial). It is only about the security guarantees, the demands that were set at that time in terms of foreign policy. And only on this basis all further relations will be built.
Weakness, no such thing exists for NATO and the US (which is quasi NATO). There were negotiations. First, in the triangle of Russia, NATO and the OSCE. Russia remained firm, while NATO hoped to intimidate Russia.
The West does not have the resource potential to resist Russia. Moreover, NATO is in complete disagreement. Members are not willing to provide troops for Ukraine or to worsen relations with Russia. You can only win a war united and as a cohesive unit.
Look at Britain, look at the demonstrations against the attempted totalitarian system and I like to look at the struggle between the elite in the U.S. and more and more jumping off important people and opinion makers, or should I say the second elite in the U.S.? Anyway.
It is the opportunity of disobedience for many countries. Or in other words, the Russian revolt (Russia is teeming with Yank lackeys in the state apparatus), is a go-ahead signal to get out of the embrace. Think of the appointments of Macron and Baerbock, who suddenly cancelled talks with Ukraine. Think of Olaf Scholz, who said something about climate protection when asked about Nordstream 2, but did not put NS2 in his mouth. The US was against publishing the answer to the question, others say Russia’s ultimatum. It was published.
Russian position is strong. No Russia does not want to expand, like the Romans or the US at the moment, to achieve the only sense of a world government. And who is still not satisfied with these statements. The US carelessly or unintentionally entered the negotiations on the transformation of the world on the Russian positions. Now they are stuck and since it was made public, they have acknowledged that they are participating in these negotiations. Thank God for that. And the whole world is watching.
In the past, the U.S. government would have said, I don’t care, and moved on. It would have been quickly forgotten. Now even Biden is calling Putin to talk. That hasn’t happened before either. And always remember. Russia does not want war. Russia, with China, has not only publicly declared its new role once again, but is receiving prominent support. The U.S. lackey countries can break away, from the great dependence.
What could happen in Ukraine. I could further imagine a false flag attempt by Ukraine to accuse Russia of starting a “war”. How about a 5-day war then? Either way, NATO member states would have and do have that reason to leave Ukraine. They are doing it right now. It is then only about the Uki-Nazis who must be eliminated so that Ukraine could become an independent state. The hysteria is needed so that the flight of the West is not conspicuous. But the hysteria was too conspicuous for me.
The last paragraph was my version. Let’s wait and see. I don’t see a full-scale war.
Everything is so, but we / Russia do not need either the territory of the ex-Ukrainian SSR, or their other assets and debts.
We need a non-bloc free trade zone, which they abandoned in 2014 with an anti-state military coup ordered by the US.
By the way, Switzerland and Finland were created by the Russian Tsar / Emperor
Today, Russia, taking into account gas and coal, occupies the first place in the trade turnover with Ukraine. They eat our food, they consume our electricity, our gasoline and diesel fuel (from Belarus and energy and hydrocarbons are also ours), our coal, our TVELs (75%) for nuclear power plants … And the wonderful Togliatti-Odessa ammonia pipeline, continuously operating all the years of “Russian aggression” (record deliveries are recorded).
Russia does not set itself the goal of destroying Ukraine to its foundations.
Gazprom, as one of the instruments of our state, keeps Ukraine afloat, giving it time for the inevitable restructuring of the gas transportation system.
They would set the goal of destroying Ukraine – they would shut off the dampers and valves, turn off the valves, and not only on the gas transmission system …)))
No more than 20 minutes, then cleaning )))
The standard of one of the variants of the AR (asymmetric response) of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation to inflict “unacceptable damage” on the enemy, in this case the so-called. Ukraine, up to (!) 20 minutes.
During this time, decision-making points and communication centers will be destroyed by a massive air missile and bomb strike. command posts, … strategic infrastructure facilities and all the armed forces of the failed state Okraine of Russia, i.e. hohlov
Why Lvov: – because the airport is 6 kilometers away,
to the border Uzhgorod by car 250 km (6 hours) and 70% of Western Okraine belongs to EU and US companies
For information, Gazprom has not booked additional capacities for the transit of natural gas through Okraine for six months now. And until the opening of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline, nothing will be pumped in excess of the contracts concluded with the EU countries.
Burshtyn energy island, – the heritage of the USSR, is more than 80% of Soviet (there is no other there and will not be) underground gas storage facilities (UGS) of the so-called. Okraine and 80% of the Russian gas pumped into them is located in the region of Western Okraine (Bandera region)
The volume of gas in the Western Ukrainian UGS enclave is 25.32 billion m3.
The total volume of all Ukrainian UGS facilities is almost 31 billion m3.
9.418 billion m3 is the gas reserve at the end of January specifically for Western Okraine.
Reversing the gas is impossible (it requires system modernization, and this is time and a lot of money).
In addition, the Burshtyn energy island is only a third Okrainian, and European energy companies dominate there today. Not so long ago, some blocks of the Burshtynskaya TPP even stood idle
UGS location map “Burshtyn energy island” vfe&ved=0CAgQjRxqFwoTCLC0g46UgPYCFQAAAAAdAAAAAABAm
UGS facilities Here in Russia it is reported that the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation has booked all large enterprises in the major cities of the ex-Ukrainian SSR for February 23 (public holiday – Day of the Soviet Army and Navy / Defender of the Fatherland). Navy). fatherland). fatherland day.
“Defense Minister Shoigu has announced that Russian military exercises have been partially completed and will be curtailed in the coming days.”
– A riddle for the enemy: how many weapons, military and special equipment (AMSE) and personnel will return to their places of permanent deployment. :)))
Today, Peskov said that USA Russia relations have hit rock bottom. I would suggest that they have always been rock bottom. There has never been a time when USA has not been working to destroy Russia.
“Europe” of the first beginning, to Russia, in my opinion, was the Catholic and Protestant Crusades and 4 (four) world aggressions / wars: Patriotic 1812, Crimean 1853-1856, World 1914-1918, Great Patriotic War June 22, 1941 – September 2, 1945.
Funny,,had the same thought earlier today.
Another puzzle to figure out for the already overheated ….sorry,Mod I repeat from a previously submitted comment.
Its a sort of weird pleasure watching them squirm at every obstacle having to immediately forget the previous as they negotiate the next one whilst they are soiling themselves about overcomeing the previous because it has not happened yet.
Surreal.

Could it be these Canadian troops are needed to make war against Canadian citizens at home?

I am starting to wonder if it was actually Canadian troops that were being tutored by Ukrainians on how to make war on its own population?
Waiting for the Barbarians
BY C. P. CAVAFY
TRANSLATED BY EDMUND KEELEY
What are we waiting for, assembled in the forum?
The barbarians are due here today.
Why isn’t anything going on in the senate?
Why are the senators sitting there without legislating?
Because the barbarians are coming today.
What’s the point of senators making laws now?
Once the barbarians are here, they’ll do the legislating.
Why did our emperor get up so early,
and why is he sitting enthroned at the city’s main gate,
in state, wearing the crown?
Because the barbarians are coming today
and the emperor’s waiting to receive their leader.
He’s even got a scroll to give him,
loaded with titles, with imposing names.
Why have our two consuls and praetors come out today
wearing their embroidered, their scarlet togas?
Why have they put on bracelets with so many amethysts,
rings sparkling with magnificent emeralds?
Why are they carrying elegant canes
beautifully worked in silver and gold?
Because the barbarians are coming today
and things like that dazzle the barbarians.
Why don’t our distinguished orators turn up as usual
to make their speeches, say what they have to say?
Because the barbarians are coming today
and they’re bored by rhetoric and public speaking.
Why this sudden bewilderment, this confusion?
(How serious people’s faces have become.)
Why are the streets and squares emptying so rapidly,
everyone going home lost in thought?
Because night has fallen and the barbarians haven’t come.
And some of our men just in from the border say
there are no barbarians any longer.
Now what’s going to happen to us without barbarians?
Those people were a kind of solution.
Of his very best poems.
This one should also fit with the occasion.
BUT THE WISE PERCEIVE THINS ABOUT TO HAPPEN
By Constantine Cavafy
“For the gods perceive future things,
ordinary people things in the present, but
the wise perceive things about to happen.”
Philostratos, Life of Apollonios of Tyana, viii, 7.
Ordinary people know what’s happening now,
the gods know future things
because they alone are totally enlightened.
Of what’s to come the wise perceive
things about to happen.
Sometimes during moments of intense study
their hearing’s troubled: the hidden sound
of things approaching reaches them,
and they listen reverently, while in the street outside
the people hear nothing whatsoever.
Wonderful quotes, thank you!
The news here is the army is exhausted, confused, but confident that the war is easily winnable.
The say the moment it starts, it will already be 1/2 over and the other half could take as long as 3 days.
The kids running the better business bureau are stuck on yesterdays news and missing some recruits, but its still the most relevant information around today, so their 15 minutes is registered and makes money.
Other than that the prisoners are being treated fairly, the cheese is moldy but hey, beggers cant be choosers too, and nobody knows quite when the war going to start, but they sure know where the sanctions end.
Exactly.
I saw the headlines about destroying telecom equipment & archives at the embassy before leaving.
I was thinking … They’re pulling another Afghanistan!
The rats are getting off the ship!
Good to see you back safe and sound Andrei. Quick recovery for your son.
There are signs that the Russian Duma will ask the Kremlin to recognize and/or seriously arm the LDNR in the near future.
Interesting proposal, the first part: recognition of LDNR.
I believe the Kremlin wants to see an intact and neutral Ukraine, IOW a buffer zone between RF and Nato, just like pre-Maidan — after all RF was quite happy to work with the likes of Kuchma, Yuschenko, Yanukovich, etc, and quite happy to just lease the naval base from the Ukraine rather than own it. That’s where Minsk will lead to — the buffer zone. Recognition of LDNR will undermine Minsk. Some may be thinking of the situation with South Ossetia and thus by extension RF peacekeepers in the Donbass but, to my mind, at best that will lead to a frozen conflict; not an ideal long-term solution for RF whereas Minsk is. I’ve no problems with training and arming the LDNR military; in fact I think it would be remiss for RF not to have done so.
On a different note, RF will be assuming the presidency of the UNSC this month (?17 Feb) and the RF rep has said the RF will bring the issue of the Ukraine and Minsk before the council.
Tass reports, ‘Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba on Monday said he believed the UN should join efforts by Ukraine and its partners to reduce tensions around Donbas.’ At first glance Kuleba may look like he’s agreeing with RF’s proposal to discuss the Ukraine but I think his motivations are different: he wants to sweep Minsk under the carpet and make RF a party to the conflict. RF is not going to have any of that and it has a strong hand — Minsk is endorsed by a UNSC resolution (Res 2202)

Re false flag: The Anglos are getting desperate, and not just from total loss of credibilty should the long-awaited ‘Russian invasion’ not make an appearance — it’ll be a shot not heard around the world. All will agree that they need a war in order to maintain their grip on Europe — who have every possibility of emerging as rivals — and weaken established rival Russia. The serfs — the Euros — are showing incipient signs of a revolt and they can’t have that. Macron and Scholz are no great statesmen but I believe (and I do hope I’m correct for Europe’s sake) they do have a plan for Europe to extricate themselves out of this fearsome mess with Russia; but we’ll have to wait for Scholz’s visit to Moscow to get an idea what that plan is.
Scholz could nip this in the bud by announcing in Moscow:
– Certification for NS2 has been granted
– Azovstan has to adhere to Minsk accords or it will never be allowed into EU Cartel
– 30,000 Yank goons occupying Germany will politely be asked to eff off back to Disneyland
That’s what he should do, but…..
The CIA-MI6-Mossad would ensure his plane wouldn’t reach Moscow. So unless he’s found all Obama’s bugs left over from Yes We Scan then they already know what time in the early morning hours he dispenses his bodily fluids.
Should he make the meeting, then is the time to request political asylum, kipping over at Schroder’s pad until they find him a nice dacha on the black sea coast.
No doubt 30,000 Yanks spend a lot of usd$ in the local economies — although it could also be in a very hermetic closed-loop back to the Congress person(s)-of-choice etc.
Incredible headline yesterday….”last chance for peace:”….so…if no surrender by Putin UK is going to declare war based on a denial that cannot be proven??? Or what??
The absurdity.
It indeed looks like US pulling out. I’m beginning to therefore think that all these weapons shipped to Ukraine will result in a similar destabilization program as Syria and Afghanistan, in the hands of neo-nazis and takfiris. Can we expect a country-wide civil war in Ukraine? Very very bad. Also the illegal arms trade is the largest in Ukraine, and those $25k LAW and Stingers go pretty easily in a cars trunk.
All this is worrying to me, albeit too early to tell now but it could come to be.
I have to elaborate this a bit. What I mean is the US could form a new republic of Lemberg or Galicia or whatever in the west, and leave a humongous cesspit in the east (or center) for Russia, to be used as a future destabilization platform. But of course I don’t think the Russians would fall for this, but firewall and cordon it off from healthy parts.
But we’ll have to see how the current drama plays out before that.
…all these weapons shipped to Ukraine will result in a similar destabilization program as Syria and Afghanistan…
That is certainly very possible; indeed I think the program is already underway, albeit still at an early stage.
An armed conflict in a neighbouring country is something that RF doesn’t need. In fact VVP alluded to such a possibility in one of his speeches or interviews (I forget which), something along the lines of a third party coming in and using missiles against Russia.
Western special forces are already in-country supposedly to help train ‘Ukrainians’ in ‘guerilla warfare.’ Further, there are persistent reports from LDNR about foreign mercenaries entering the front disguised as military advisers.
The good news is, as the Russians are aware of the situation, they will have taken the steps necessary to neutralise the threat later, if and when the shooting starts — neutralisation ala Idlib, only several degrees more ferocious.
This is one reason why, as much as possible, RF wants to ensure an intact, viable, governable Ukraine (inclusive of Donbass): a country which it can conduct normal business with. And neutral.
Russia will act just as needed; they always have. They are the adults in the room…
There will be no war. Germany and France do not support a war and have made that clear to the US and the Ukrainians. As for Russia, why do anything when you can sit back and watch NATO collapse due to competing economic interests? Russia will not act–response or no response. As for the US Empire, fear, tension, lies, propaganda and hysteria amplified by a compliant media is just standard operating procedure.
USA and NATO, the lackeys of the Globalists, with all this smear campaign are preparing a false flag to blame Russia as an agressor and therefore convert her a global pariah and coerce all the countries of the world to fight against Russia with the “bushian” “you are with us or against us”.
Russia undoubtely wilI respond and they know it. I think they have already planned to go all the way to the Armageddon to depopulate the planet meanwhile the elite scum run to hide deep below the ground as the varmints that they are.
1. Posted elsewhere but I’m also interested in any comments back from people here.

It appears that white-flag decisions have been made essentially reflecting the old historic catholic-orthodox cultural/religious lines. A lot of western media noise (and western media images of nazi grandmothers doing rifle practice) while the foot/boot prints on the ground point westwards to Poland. The USA/Nato are clearly reconfiguring in response to Russia’s late 2021 ultimatum and the ‘invasion’ (perhaps liberation back to a neutral trading democracy at peace with its neighbors?) is largely a media smoke screen.
A quick look at the map suggests that all Belarus/Russia need do is push a new border transit zone between Poland and Lithuania to link up with the coastal Kaliningrad port and Baltic the NS2 gas can be shipped out to German markets by LNG boat/barge if needed. It’s all there in low hanging fruit to make sweet lemonade if Nato gives the Russians a suitable trigger to proceed.
A ‘false flag’ event could be a win(x2) outcome for Russia during this ‘window of weakness’ the US/Nato have. A lot to lose for the US/Nato and a lot to win for Russia and Germany. Any downside of USA/Nato sanctions imposed (an act of war justifying the Belarus-Kaliningrad Oblast linkup) would easily be out-weighed by the clear Moscow-to-Baltic-Sea route.

That Saigon-Kabul-Kyiv graphic was hilarious in capturing what America does best: Cheat and Retreat.
It looks like Che Guevara was right when he predicted that people around the world would create “Two, Three, Many Vietnams” as part of the revolt against American imperial tyranny.
The recent Chinese and Russian joint manifesto had one audience, the Global South. This is Che’s moment, his crowning achievement. I wish he could have been here to see it.
El Che ain’t dead so long as people say his name. The Commandante and El Che are smiling.
Two reports, one from Ukrainian occupied Donbass and one from Free Donbass:
1.The criminal who shot visitors to a cafe in Donbass turned out to be a soldier of the Armed Forces of Ukraine
The killer, who shot several people at Cafe Granitnny, is detained, is broadcasting the correspondent “Donbass Today” with a link to the National DNR.
The National Police intelligence also reported the details of the crime.
“On February 13, two soldiers of 53 brigade, taking advantage of the absence of a unit commander, voluntarily left their positions, taking with them the “Makarova” sign guns. Headed to the Kirpich cafe in Granitny. While drinking alcohol, they accused other cafe visitors of separation. After which cafe workers asked them to leave the restaurant. Already on the street near the cafe “Kirpich”, they waited until their opponents came out to smoke and opened a fire from guns on them,” – the press service of the NM DNR reported.
It is reported that a 46-year-old citizen of Rudnitsky was killed as a result of the shooting, three more visitors were seriously injured in the armpit area, leg and shoulder. Later, one of the injured died in the hospital.
Let’s note that the murderers are now detained by police officers.

Not that Russia has invaded anybody yet and quite probably won’t, but Uncle Sam’s media tools seem convinced–or wants to convince others–that Russia is about to lock up and torture random Ukies the way American troops abused hapless Iraqis in Abu Ghraib prison.
Check out the garbage they are spreading about “Vlad” Putin’s sadistic plans for his targeted enemies:

Classic tactics of projection by the Empire.
Do they really think we have so soon forgotten Abu Ghraib and the CIA’s globally distributed secret “rendition” camps to illegally imprison, interrogate, torture and execute innocent victims? Do they really think that we have forgotten which nations were complicit in carrying out these blatant war crimes?
Kids who read the Beano and Dandy have got more critical thinking prowess than the average Sc*m reader. As a 14 yr old I remember what they did after Hillsborough 1989. Mr Murdoch’s media empire has done a profound amount of damage to the psyche of millions of Britz. Absolute filth.
Minsk, Chisinau… who’s next? Vilnius, Riga, Tallinn, Bucharest, Warsaw, Budapest, Berlin, Paris… ? )))
The US State Department urged Americans to immediately leave Belarus and Transnistria, according to the agency’s website.
In addition, the State Department recommended not to enter the territory of Moldova due to the situation around the coronavirus, the situation on the Russian-Ukrainian border and the unresolved conflict between the breakaway region of Transnistria and the central authorities.

Great analysis as always.. the false flag looks inevitable.. and could be the mother of all false flags..
The transfer of the capital of the ex-OkrainianSSR to the capital of the Russian Galicia-Volyn principality, Lviv, de facto restored the reality of understanding the problem.
It remains for the State Department to publish the calendar of the Russian invasion of the outskirts – to hell with intrigue! )))
Reference
The Galicia-Volyn principality was created in 1199 by Roman Mstislavich, Prince of Novgorod (1168-1170), Volyn (1170-1187, 1188-1199), Galician (1188), the first prince of Galicia-Volyn (1199-1205) , Prince of Kiev (1201, 1204).
The transfer of the capital of the ex-Ukrainian SSR to the capital of the Russian Galicia-Volyn Principality of Lviv de facto restored the reality of understanding the problem and establishes / determines the status quo.
Here’s a piece of rubbish from the ATimes attempting to lead the story into a Russia “loses face and capitulates” narrative etc.
On queue, just like certain vaccines magically dampen a virus wave just as it was going through its natural wind down cycle anyway, the end (and wind-down) of the scheduled annual Russian military exercises will be re-framed in msm as a backdown and humiliation.
All the while the American led Nato scampers out of town as fast as they can, like cockroaches when the lights go on, before the bar and damages bill is presented for the after party cleanup. Expect more of this BS for some weeks to cover a number of ill-winds, … including the recent Durham report covering a certain Mr Sullivan at centre of an investigation into the Clinton machine spying on President Trump etc.
“Since 2014, Moscow has been fighting a proxy war in the Donbas – a coal-rich region in Eastern Ukraine – against Western-backed Ukrainian armed forces. But after Russia issued its “ultimatum” to the United States, Moscow’s room for political maneuvers became limited.
Now the Kremlin’s choices are very narrow: war or humiliation.
If Moscow backs down and withdraws its troops from Belarus and Russia’s Western regions bordering Ukraine, the West will undoubtedly see such actions as a sign of weakness. Moreover, it will become crystal clear that Russia was bluffing all the time.”

Wishing your child a speedy recovery from Covid with good health and blessings to the extended Saker family.
Your hardwork and platform are greatly appreciated!!!
Submitted only as a current example of the distorted msm narratives on the fringe of the empire.
Keen critical discourse analysis will identify how each little potential objection or question is twisted or deflected into reienforcing all biased presumptions of the mind-controlling tropes at large. People scan this muck (probably just the headlines and a couple of paragraphs at most) and then go to sleep on it and let it settle into a cognitive dissonance avoiding subconscious filter.
(quote) “The US has warned repeatedly over the past weeks that the Kremlin will attempt to stage an attack inside Ukraine to create a pretext for an invasion of the country.
Russian operatives would probably attack Russian land or ethnic Russians in Ukraine, film and publicise the aftermath, as if it had been a Ukrainian attack on Russians, thus giving the Kremlin a justification for an invasion, the Pentagon said.
“As part of this fake attack,” Pentagon spokesman John Kirby said on February 4, “we believe that Russia would produce a very graphic propaganda video which would include corpses and actors that would be depicting mourners and images of destroyed locations.” … etc.” (end quote)

Anyone who has made any effort to follow and understand the Syrian war playbook will easily recognise the script being set out here. The problem is, to the intelligent and critically aware mind, it is clearly utter rubbish and yet this just adds to the problem of understanding how and why it works so effectively with a well groomed mass-formationed audience. There is always hope, but it is hard to find sometimes.
„Lavrov and Putin agreed that that there is “still is a last chance left for a negotiated solution” and they have sent an important written text, 10 pages, to their western counterparts. But they also made it clear that if “Biden” is just running down the clock then Russia will take action.“
Ok, but what „action“ are they referring to if not an invasion?
Reportedly, Pelosi told Stephanopoulos that i) if Putin entered Ukraine, Russia would be sanctioned to hell and back (basically ostracized from the human race) and ii) if he refrained from “invading” he would be ridiculed no end for backing down to Lord Biden’s bold heroic threats. She sees it as a win-win proposition for Washington with the crisis reduced to no more than a theatrical performance now.
She may actually still be taunting Russia into taking military action to save face, thereby falling into Biden’s “masterful” /sarc/ sanctions trap. I still think that Washington would rather blow up the world than lose face to the country they believe they are destined to conquer, so don’t start feeling any self confidence about this being over quite yet. It is a dangerous game trying to prevail against homicidal sociopaths.
“Ok, but what „action“ are they referring to if not an invasion?”
Spelt out numerous times over the last few weeks — military technical that does not involve ‘invading ukraine’.
Why do you think all these rainbow knicker types just took a dump and scuttled back to the western sectors behind the red lines and are no doubt trying to madly camouflage their decision making infrastructure and assets?
It is the US/Nato psyops that is trying to conflate in the minds of the general public these two largely distinct potential events (except under certain extreme conditions in the breakaway regions).
Hoping the west comes to their senses, but this is unlikely as the trend has yet to be broken, and the time is quickly running out.
At this point both sides keep saying “come at me, bro” to the other. What they want to convey to the rest of the world is that whoever does make the first move is guilty of starting the war and worthy of universal condemnation, even if no one is injured. Of course, one certainty is that Washington will lie even if there is no point. It’s simply what they do. Their reputation precedes them.
US senators have acknowledged that they will not be able to pass a bill on sanctions against Russia before the alleged “attack” on Ukraine, and began to prepare a non-binding resolution that would warn Moscow of serious consequences in the event of an attack.
“Senators in both parties concede they’ve missed the window to hit Moscow with new sanctions before a possible invasion, but they vow swift action if Putin moves on Ukraine.”

@Andrei
Wish your kid to get well soon, and good health to your family.
On 14/02 they had to invade, which is Valentine’s Day ….
Congratulations to Russia for its high strategy and the wonderful tactics it follows. The dead West is panting with phlegm, their waterfall in Ukraine has shown the world that they have long since died.
In my opinion, Putin won parts of Ukraine without throwing a bullet, we will see that happen in time.
No sanctions, no blockades are going to stop the Russians and the Chinese. For the first time in the history of capitalism we see the creation of such an “empire” that seems to be stopped only by nuclear weapons. I look forward to admiring Putin’s next game of chess.
Greetings from GREECE.
Is there any substance to the rumour that tomorrow, Wednesday 16 March, has been re designated as The 12th of Never on the calendar?

I suspect that something is this:

“Can you see the domestic political scenario that has been created out of thin air?
First, accuse Vladimir Putin of doing something he never intends to do, a fabricated scenario. Second, tell the world you will strongly respond to the fabricated scenario. Third, tell the world the exact date when the fabricated scenario is supposed to happen. Then, when the fabricated scenario never happens, it is because you are so brilliant and strong to have outmaneuvered and cowed the Russians.”
Zone A is run by mardy arsed twelve year olds pretending to be grown up’s.
Russia pulls back troops just before the supposed invasion day! Russia can play this game for as long as it takes.
Someone wrote Putin has won. They are all running away from KIEV and a permanent Rupture between the Ukraine and the west has already been effected by a Voodoo military that refuses to attack but is up to something enigmatic in Syria. :)
