I saw it on AL ALAM translated into Arabic , i applaud the Iranians and i say it without any hesitation , we do not have one Arab official who could speak like that , and tell Britain to take a hike . His speech was brilliant.
Britain has been so biased against iran , its channels (Sky , Channel4, ITV , BBC , even Arabic BBC , were so vile wishing for more blood I think . they were NOT neutral nor professional , i was surprised how they attacked the Iranian elections , while Mr Milliband said Britain does not plan to repeat the same thing it did with Mr Moussadeq (i was surprised he mentioned this )
Ok So Mr Moussavi has some supporters among students and the Elite , that does not give him the right to turn the country upside down , he should know that the Majority of the people (especially the poor ) are with Mr Ahmadinejad .Mr moussavi should learn about what Democracy is all about .
Have you checked out the new War Nerd (which I discovered thanks to you, when you posted his essay about the Kosovo Battle) article at Exiledonline? I don’t know If you’ll like it that much, but his basic hypothesis is that the Islamic Republic will survive without turning into another creepy third-rate Ussatellite like Saudi Horrobia (wich is all that I want at the moment)
Lots of Iranians have demonstrated OUtside the headquarters of the BBC in London , i saw it on Presstv. but I could not find it on the BBC channel , not even on the Arabic BBC channel. they usually say they worry about their reputation and are professional but they ignored the Demonstration and did not show it .
Anonymous : I love saudi Horrobia , it fits perfectly .
At the moment ALL Saudi papers and channels are fuming and criticizing the Iranian elections and support the opposition . they even bring Experts to talk about democracy , forgeting that there are NO Elections on their own soil .
Has it EVER occurred to anyone in here to think a little further down the road and explore more elusive facts?
Who is the US’ pawn in the area to counter Iran? It’s Turkey. What’s Mosavi’s ethnicity? Azeri. The US and EU want the Azeris have more say in Iran so Turkey can “control” Iran in the long run. This will result in annihilation of Kurds and it will also make sure Iran, together with its energy resources is under the control of imperial powers.
I have no love for the Iranian regime (regardless of which of the thugs are in charge) but the current play is not in the interest of the people of the Middle East.
The other day someone was talking about Israel being deep into Iraqi Kurdistan. They don’t need to… All they have to do is to walk through the gate with a Turkish passport. Why take the risky and difficult way when there is an easier route?
@anonymous1: I usually like the War Nerd, but he, as so many other Westerners, simply does not have the intellectual and psychological tools to understand a religous society. Though he tries in the case of Iran, he fails.
@anonymous2: Let me remind you that Sayyed Ali Khamenei is also an Azeri. I don’t think that the ethnic factor plays a crucial role here.
Loved the live online debate lead (18.06) by Galloway on Iranian TV. I specially liked when a South African caller asked “What kind of democracy is there in Iran that pre-selects the candidates, like it was done in South Africa where them all had to be white?” and Galloway responded: The Republic of Iran has its system of qualificcation. In USA there is one too, for anyone to have the slightest possibility to be a candidate he has to gather at least one billion dollars. That’s a qualification too”
Not even one -just one- journalist in the west has alluded the last part of Khamenei’s speech: the one asking why so much concern for the iranian elections. What about the “concern” the americans have for human rights of the massacred in Afghanistan, or of those in Iraq under its soldier’s boots. Or to mention a domestic case the WACO massacre where over 80 women and kids were reduced to ashes, just because they belonged to a religious group the american establishment disliked.
