She was challenging there the top-down-imposed ‘historical’ narrative of her own Party (‘Russiagate’ included), regarding not only that Party’s latest Presidential nominee Clinton, but the Party’s entire leadership ever since at least 9/11 (along with the leadership of the Republican Party) and the resulting transformation of this nation into a permanent-warfare state, one invasion after another — what she has referred to, throughout her entire campaign, as “regime-change wars.”
It backfired against Gabbard.
There is no indication, in any of the polling since that happened, which shows that this attack against Clinton helped Gabbard’s campaign, and there is even one poll which seems to indicate that it instead sharply turned many Democratic Party voters, in the first of all of the contested states, Iowa, firmly and decisively against her.
On October 24th, was headlined from Iowa State University “Buttigieg jumps to second in Iowa State University/Civiqs poll”, reporting that, “The online poll of 598 likely caucus-goers also asked voters to list the candidate they do not want to win the nomination. Biden and Sanders topped this list. Peterson says Tulsi Gabbard was third, moving from nearly 7% in September to 17%.”
This poll was taken during October 18-22, which is precisely the period when the suddenly now-personal war between Gabbard and Clinton, about the goodness or badness of post-9/11 permanent-warfare America, was the focus of this nation’s political news. A full 10% of Iowa’s registered and active Democrats (17%-7%) had suddenly switched to placing Gabbard onto their “DO NOT want to be the nominee” list. And the percentage who were saying that they were intending to vote for her declined down 67%, to 2%, from its previous 6%. So: she had lost two-thirds of her Party’s voters, while she had more than doubled (17/7) the number of Democratic Party voters who are outright hostile against her. That’s a stunning change since their September poll.
Gabbard has been interviewed hostilely on Democratic Party ‘news’-media (because she has been challenging her Party’s neoconservatism), but supportively interviewed on Republican Party ‘news’-media (as if that Party weren’t actually just as neocon as the Democratic Party), and she has consistently said that she will not run as a third-party candidate even if one of her Party’s neocons (such as Biden, Buttigieg, or Warren) wins its nomination. But candidates have said this sort of thing before and subsequently reversed their position on the matter, and she might do that; so, she still remains a factor to consider in the 2020 contest.
Right now, Republican ‘news’-media, such as Fox News, are continuing to give her air-time, such as Fox’s Hannity did on October 24th, in a good summary-presentation of the Clinton-Gabbard conflict about the future of the Democratic Party regarding international relations, which was titled “Tulsi Gabbard: This is what’s so dangerous about Hillary Clinton”.
Apparently, Gabbard’s strategy now is to continue to present to voters, both in the Democratic and in the Republican Parties as well as to independents, her vision of the type of country that America ought to be (not the type of country — for example — that invaded Iraq on the basis of lies in 2003); and, if she becomes rejected by her own Democratic Party, then, at that time, she might be able, with her now-established name-recognition and clearly articulated policy-views, to become the Green Party’s 2020 candidate and to present an appeal designed in order to draw enough independents, plus both Democrats and Republicans who have come to reject their former Parties, so as to stand a realistic chance of winning in 2020, in essentially the same way that Abraham Lincoln did in 1860, when the Republican Party replaced the previous Whig Party. If the Democratic Party nominates Bernie Sanders, then she wouldn’t do that, but, otherwise, she might. Consequently, any intelligent Democrat whose main concern is to win the Presidency in 2020 (so as to have a Democrat as President starting in 2021) will be voting for Sanders, because, otherwise, Tulsi Gabbard could well throw a monkey wrench into the Presidential campaign machinery for both of the existing Parties — and that might produce a replacement of the Democratic Party by the Green Party, in the same way that the Republicans replaced the Whigs in 1860. It could happen again — but this time to the Democratic Party.

She should go independent immediately. That way she can really tear the democrats up and carve off a bit of the republicans too.

She should have gone as an independent from the very start. However, she decided to go as a candidate of the Democratic Party, ostensibly trying to reverse foreign policy mistakes of her predecessors, namely the Deep State. Strange. Did she really think that she could go alone against the Deep State ? Does she really want to, bearing in mind she used to be a member of the Council on Foreign Relations ?
As I have written before, my personal impression is that she was planned as a replacement for Hillary Clinton. I still think so. However, it would appear that during the past week or so there have been second thoughts about Tulsi replacing Hillary. It would appear that Hillary is again being planned as a candidate for the next election. If true, then a very interesting, and potentially dangerous situation is going to develop, especially if Trump wins again.
Only problem here is that its already been proven that polling simply doesn’t matter. It seems today’s elections are won with the bank account, the one that is monitored of and by the press, for they are the recipient of last resort and have the most to lose if, advertizing didn’t matter, and the actual issues did.
Polls are not to be trusted for far to many/most only express the wishers of the takers, and most of those have their own agenda which is the agenda of the 1% ,Reagan proved that during his stay in the oval office and the monkeys were quick to learn that polls are the way to rich’s.So vote the way you wish to forget the so called parties for they don’t have your interest at heart,so don’t cop out by saying I voted for the lessor of the two evils even thou you know both are evil.!!!
Eric – Given that the media that the Iowa Democratic voters are exposed to and its constant hostility to Gabbard and its subtle undermining her at every turn, how could it have turned out any differently? Gabbard had to respond to Clinton’s smear, did she not? Obviously the capitalist system has got people like her in a damned if they do and damned if they don’t position. These pigs are very experienced at neutralizing opposition to their power. And they have enormous resources with which to achieve that end. As i see it the system is still too stable to allow much in the way of fresh revolutionary air through the cracks yet. Nevertheless it seems to me that the winds of time are flowing with people like Sanders and Tulsi.

Tulsi is still young and needs to plan for a long-term political future for herself. Bernie isn’t and doesn’t. He is freer. As I indicate in the article just posted here today (October 27), Sanders would be better for a third-party run in 2020 than she would be. When I said “I’m not seeing any of those ‘winds'” I was referring to Tulsi 2020. But I believe that if Bernie runs independent in 2020 (and Tulsi doesn’t), Bernie would likely win, and this would be an Abraham Lincoln 1860 event. (Of course, that progressive party was killed by John Wilkes Booth’s bullet.) If Bernie doesn’t run either Democratic or independent, then Tulsi will need to run independent. That would end her career as a Democrat. But maybe even she could win in 2020 as an independent; and, if she doesn’t, she still could win in 2024 (if the world is still around then). In the interim, she could become a TV icon. Her presentation-skills on political issues beat anyone else’s that I have ever seen — ever. She is awesomely formidable in any debate-situation. But in the short term, the neocon grip around America’s throat is strangulatingly tight. I expect her to come back in 2024, as a Democrat, unless Bernie is President as a Green — in which case she will probably then become his VP running-mate in that year. That’s when the neocons’ throats could get slit, and everyone else finally become enabled to breathe free. But the distance between the current tyranny and any such democracy is enormous, and I really am not expecting it to be bridged. But I hope to be surprised and proven wrong on that.
A 3 way split in the POTUS elections is difficult – and results in unwanted results like Perot in 1992 where Bush should have won. The electoral college system makes it hard. I doubt Bernie could win as an independent because Trump still has a large chunk of support whilst Hillary and her proxies have much less. It is a known fact Govt’s, Politicians & Party’s lose elections, not win them – the DEMS lost in 2016 because Americans wanted a different direction, not more of the same.
The key question is what will they want next year ? A U-turn to the past – or steady as she goes with Trumpet – or something new from Bernie or Tulsi ? Flip a 3 sided coin. But youre right Tulsi needs to look to 2024. Election data I have based on a forecasting method I know that works say the Republicans should win the 2020 election (candidate unknown) and possibly the following 1 or 2 elections.
Tulsi should stick in for even 2028 & 2032 or even try to establish a new party in the Senate & House. The GOP would have extreme difficulty if Trump was not made the next candidate – as few others have the stature or charisma – eg just look how well guys like McCain & Romney did, let alone Jeb and other hopefuls. I suspect elite elements of the GOP may be grooming Ryan or Cruz for 2020 but them up against Hillary and Bernie will be difficult. DEMS are divided and that will not get them into office. Their best choice possibly is to have Tulsi with Bernie as VP or a binding agreement whereby they alternate the positions each year – after all its the VP who has the time to get a lot of the policy & deals in Congress done etc…..
Also in order to win the DEMS also need to win over swinging voters who voted Republican and only Tulsi has the capacity to do that. 2020 will also depend on how much vote rigging the DEMS do and how the swing voter view things. The shift to Trump in 2016 means the voters wanted change and they will be reluctant to go back to the same failed agenda – this is why Tulsi & Bernie are the best choices.
If 2020 ends up between Trump / Ryan or Cruz vs Hillary then Trump/Ryan/Cruz would win as Bernie and others will bleed votes.
Trump vs Bernie would also probably result in a Trump win because Hillary people wouldnt support him.
Trump vs Tulsi would be a cliffhanger.
Trump vs Warren/Biden etc would be a Trump win.
If its Ryan or Cruz vs Warren/Biden etc… Ryan/Cruz would probably win.
If its Ryan or Cruz vs Tulsi & Bernie as Dems/Independent, Tulsi-Bernie would win.

Tulsi I suspect will not run under the Greens banner nor would Stein or the party hacks want her there. Bernie is actually the front-runner and Biden has one foot in Assisted Living and may have both feet in by next June so he won’t be the nominee. I wouldn’t put much credibility in these polls. We don’t know how the wanted end result was factored into the questions and selection of participants. Polling has become a very manipulated part of zionazi-gay psywar.

Personally, I think Gabbard messed up going after clinton personally, instead of the policies clintons zionazi-nazi masters’ are pursuing, with clinton being merely one of their gofers. I think this was intentional on Gabbard’s part, or rather her handlers. It transfers the problem to the clinton brand. If clinton is vanquished, well problem solved. No more “bad” wars, we can label them “good” wars, like WW2.
As for the Green Party, or any other 3rd party ousting the demicans in 2020, this is nonsense. Gabbard gained more than she lost with this response, I guarantee it. Whoever goes against Clinton AND US foreign policy has a much higher chance of getting republican voters on their side. Most people are not as set in their ways as it may seem. Plus people underestimate the popularity of Bernie Sanders and his policies on both sides. Medicate for all, in spite of all the ridiculous fear mongering and flat out lies on virtually every single news channel there is, over 50% of republican voters are for it. Gabbard has a very similar domestic agenda with a much superior foreign one. Not to mention she is a currently still serving soldier.

In case no one noticed, any viable candidate besides kankles is being systematically destroyed. Sanders had a ‘heart event’. Gabbard was called out and told what she is. Biden is Biden, ‘plagiarism Joe’. It’s a done deal behind closed doors. With her ability to subvert and her minions working night and day to ‘improve’ the election process, President Trump has a very good chance of losing.

I spoke my opinion in a bit of a rhetorical manner. I do think all the signs are she will run and if she does, she’s dangerous. If she doesn’t run, she’s still dangerous. Election night she reminded me right muchly of Timoshenko when Yanukovich won in orcland. The Yellow Hair did everything but publicly say ‘I bought the election, it’s mine!!’ when it dawned on her that she lost. But then, elections in Kiev are much more corrupt than in USA. Aren’t they?

The last election was pretty ugly too. The intent was to rig it in Hillary’s favor. It only partially succeeded, as the job was sloppily done, with voters noticing that their votes – cast on electronic voting machines – were being switched to Hillary. After that the rigging stopped, but not before some 5-10 million votes were bestowed to Hillary, which means she never won the popular vote.
If Hillary is elected as a candidate of the Democratic Party, then the election is indeed going to be very ugly indeed. You listen to polls? Were you alive in 2016? Apparently Hillary was supposed to set some milestone, crush Trump by twenty football fields full of voters, ‘according to polls.’ No one likes Pete Butiggg. Ask yourself this- who would support Pete that wouldn’t just vote for Biden, Warren, or Kamala instead? They’re essentially the same- the numbers make no sense, don’t correspond to everyday reality. It’s too easy to fix statistics, and goofy to jump to conclusions based on them. Who actually answers polls, anyhow? Two kinds of people- bribed activists, and bored old people.

My daughter is my witness – I predicted almost 2 weeks before the 2016 election that Hillary would lose. I was looked at in total amazement. But you know what? Most polls are rigged, but no ‘journalist’ takes the effort to control the sample background, that has to be representative for the sampled population.
In the USA the distribution is very roughly 1/3 Rep, 1/3 Dem, and 1/3 neither. Take the effort to scroll a little bit further in the poll results, and check the background of the questioned people. In 2016 they had the nerve to take poll samples with 75% Dem background. In statistics this is called ‘oversampling’, if I had delivered such a paper in math class it would have been torn to pieces and thrown in the trash bin, but in the MSM they happily publish data juggling when it suits the agenda. There are far more examples of such cherry picking and no one seems to care.
Chances of Tulsi to reform a rotten party are slim, so are her chances to run as a third candidate – I doubt whether she can collect enough funding of that.
What have we left? Yes, the reliance on polls is the problem with this article. We remember how badly the polls predicted 2016. The crucial element in this primary season and ultimately the election is the working class. It is, after all the working class in this country that put the dark horse candidate (Trump) in the White House. It was two issues: ending the wars and bringing home the jobs, that made their minds. Maybe the Medicare for all issue will substitute for the jobs issue but still, most of the US population want an end to these wars. My guess is that the DNC will not allow an anti-war candidate to be the nominee, so Trump will champion his albeit hackneyed and partial “end” to the regime change war in Syria and win re-election.
Tulsi running as a third Party Candidate will drain more votes away from Trump than it will Hillary. Yes, I’m saying Hillary because no later than November 8th she will announce her Candidacy for President. Hillary has been pulling the strings, behind the curtain of the DNC for the entire campaign.
What’s finally going to unite US voters is what has always united them – wars and identifying new enemies. This is the real reason for the international Deep State’s crusade against Agent Orange. When AO talked about making nice with Russia during his presidential campaign and then, after his taking office, he went to Singapore and Helsinki for “summits” with Kim and Mr. Putin, that international Deep State’s Coup against AO shifted into high gear.

But just exacly why are pepetual war and warmongers so attractive to US voters? Google “governmentcontractswon”; go to that site and see that in 2017, “private” businesses in the state of Virgina (population 8.4 million) were awarded 61,576 contracts worth $43.1 billion and that there are 17,165 “private” DoD contractors in Virginia, and that from 2000 to 2017 “private” DoD contractors in Virginia were awarded over $683.5 billion for 619,034 contracts. Therefore, no majority of voters in Virginia is EVER, and I do mean EVER, going to vote for a candidate like Gabbard who might be promising to destroy Virginia’s war-based economy and destroy many good-paying jobs. They’re going to vote for warmongers!
Virginia is not alone in the war business. Check out what “private” DoD contractors in other states such as California receive annually. It’s mind boggling.
Therefore, the US will never, and I do mean never, be politically capable of changing it’s “foreign policy” unless and until, once again with feeling, Virginians (Americans) are given a detailed alternative to their present “war way” of making a living and no D or R candidate is spelling out such an alternative.

People always forget, the people do not elect the President. Never have and never will until the US Constitution is amended. If no one voted … guess what … a president is still elected. The Constitution says clearly that the Electoral College elects the president. Electoral appointees are not to vote as they state they come from vote. They are to do due diligence and elect the candidate that is best for the country. The public vote only gives the members of the electoral college a public feeling … thats it. The Electoral College does not have to vote the popular vote. So Tulsi can do whatever, The woman who thinks she has a god given right to be POTUS can do as she wishes. However come election day, if everyone stays home … a president is still elected. Want to send a message to the Banker/Corporate Party which both D and R belong to … vote for independent who does not get money from a bank or a corporation. However, the Electoral College will probably still put a Banker/Corporate candidate in office … under the table money influences easily.

This is not correct. While it is true that no one in the US actually votes for presidential or vice-presidential candidates, the voters do vote for so-called “electors,” who are usually pledged to one candidate or another. Those electors make up the Electoral College, and their votes when assembled decide the winners of the presidential elections.
Therefor, if no one votes, no one gets elected.
We in India are fighting for the survival of our democratic republic and our civil liberties. They are in much greater threat from Modi and the fascist RSS (of which Modi has been a life-long office-bearer) than they are from Trump in USA. TRump has been unable to silence the media, but here in India, the crony-capitalist-controlled media simply blots out all news of what is happening to minorities incl Muslims/Dalits/ Tribals/ intellectuals and others.
In this background , we are puzzled at the favourable reaction to Tulsi Gabbard among progressives in the US. She is a pure demagogue who is funded partly by RSS affiliates in the US. She even justified the genocide in Gujarat in 2002 when Modi was chief Minister in that state. Each of these “thought leaders” has his hands gory with blood of humans . Those who met in Delhi included Kissinger/Tony Blair/ Robert Gates/Modi. Mind you, Kissinger stimulated Pak Army’s genocidal crackdown on East Pakistan in 1971. East Pakistan became Bangladesh at that time after the INdo-Pak war of December1971. Modi keeps appealing to Hindu chauvinism and to islamophobic sentiments in India. And Tulsi is a worthy member of this club with her own islamophobia , her endorsement of Modi, and her following a very questionable Caucasian “Hindu”, a splinter from the Hare Krishna movement. (To us native Hindus in India, these caucasian ‘hindus”make no sense, because Hinduism is not about adhering to any particular beliefs. Even atheism and materialism , rejection of idea of soul (something vital in mainstream Hinduism) , all this is there in the Charvaka school of 2nd century BC.You do not cease to be a Hindu by following this particular school or any other school.Very different from the Abrahamic faiths.) And her preceptor, a certain Chris , a splinter-leader of Hare Krishna is vitriolically islamophobic like Tulsi herself.
No doubt the words Tulsi speaks about stopping war-making would appeal to progressives. But do question her on this Modi-lining she indulges in which should be totally unacceptable to any progressive. And she tried to turn the crowd against a questioner at a recent meeting when she was asked to declae the money she had git from RSS_affiliates in the US> (Incidentally, RSS set up in 1925 was openy appreciative of Hitler and modelled on Mussolini’s party in the thirties). So , please do not throw us in India under he bus for very dubious promises of Tulsi on ceasing war.
The Green Party? That would be a stupid move as the party is completely useless and never even come close to winning an election. Saying she would join the Green Party is poor analysis. A third party run would most likely be taken on as an Independent and strategically she would need to form an alliance with Ron Paul to get a base and momentum. Lastly, don’t believe anything you read in a poll, did we learn nothing from the last election? The only thing those numbers represent are the dying hopes of desperate democrats who think Hillary Will Rise Again To Beat Donald Trump. Their only hope is impeachment and they know it, that’s why all of a sudden the polls are showing “favor for impeachment.”
