Guess who started the cycle of documentaries about the “main people of the country” on the state channel RT Russia? From the editor-in-chief of the disgusting Russophobic radio station Echo of Moscow, Alexei Venediktov. It is this person who, in violation of the law, does not liquidate the media despised by the people, according to RT, is worthy of the title of “the main person of Russia.” The question arises: maybe it was for this that Margarita Simonyan recruited liberals like Anton Krasovsky on RT?
No matter how politically active a Russian is, they will not say a few sweet words after hearing the name of the most odious liberal media of the country. The same editor-in-chief whose editorial office apparently gets saved from closing due to pressure on shareholders. Against this background, personally for me it was disgusting to see the TV channel RT bends to Venediktov along with Anton Krasovsky. “And here is the first non-related directly with me product by RT Russia. This is a series of documentaries about the most important people of Russia. Starting off with Venediktov. Watch it.”
It turns out by the opinion of editors at RT Russia, the liberal leader of Echo of Moscow stands first on the list of important people in the country. And in order to film a movie about it, a whole week was wasted of workers time which was paid by the state budget.
RT Russia’s description on the video: “For a whole work week, we followed Alexei Venediktov with cameras. We filmed how he conducts meetings on Echo of Moscow, comes up with new radio shows, follows the live broadcast, threatens to fire employees, jokes with Tina Kandelaki, criticizes Stanislav Belkovsky, meets with Moscow prefects, meets in the Moscow public chamber, generates ideas and new projects. And from this video you will learn why Venediktov lives in a hotel, how he raises his son and why, as he himself says, ‘arranges the fate of the world.’”
Like a Pathos. Look at that, Venediktov not only arranges the fate of the world, but he also raises his adult yet dodging-the-army-conscription son. As if the society is not aware of the product of this raising. Tell me, respectable subscribers, if it was up to you regarding what work time should be spent on for the RT journalists, would you have approved the filming of movie about a liberal as one of the most important people in the country? I would say that not only would it not be approved, but they would get a loaf stuffed in them for those trying to approve it. However, you political Russian media managers like Margarita Simonyan do not depend on us. Which is why they do what they want.
For example, they bring to work specific people like Krasovsky himself. In the past I was calmly reacting to him, sometimes even citing his attacks on other quacks. But just like with the other ones, I think he has a lower side to himself. While journalist Krasovsky was doing documentaries about the Coronavirus epidemic and the problems with medicine, he was in his own spot. But as soon as he was assigned to do an interview with the press secretary of the president of Russia [Dmitry Peskov], then that was it, he went down a pediment. And for me, it’s hard to not agree with what the publicist Alexander Rogers wrote about it:
Zhurnalistskaya Pravda (Journalist Truth), Alexander Rogers: “Now explain to me, I sincerely do not understand. In Russia there are thousands of journalists, tens of thousands, but for some reason they sent the only openly gay one to interview the president’s press secretary. Why?! Is he an outstanding journalist, a shining interviewer? Never once! This interview is impossible to listen to the end. It is impossibly boring, and not because of Peskov, but namely because of Krasovsky. He came to the interview with fishnet socks, laid his leg on his other leg, rolled his shoe around, and for more than an hour licked the earpiece of his glasses. Generally, he behaved like ‘not even a man with reduced social responsibility.’ Thank you Putin for the precision of wording.”
Sitting and having your mouth on the earpiece of glasses in front of an interviewee is what? An increase in journalistic professionalism? Or is it a method to show your orientation? What is this new form of interviewing state officials? The content however is even worse:
Alexander Rogers: “This interview is absolutely liberal in essence, and completely not interesting to the Russian people. For almost 15 minutes discussing the ‘poisoning’ of Navalny. Despite half of the Russian population in general does not know who that is! And the rest will say ‘Oh, this is some kind of schmuck that they want to use for imposing new sanctions against Russia.’ Then the tying attempts by Krasovsky to make Russia look extreme. From betraying the Armenians, to betraying Ukrainians and Belarussians. Everything was made into a stupid template according to a boring manual. Peskov also burned in certain points. On his words about the political wisdom of Pashinian, I almost hit myself with a facepalm. And about what kind of talks that Vladimir Vladimirovich [Putin] is carrying out there. But at the end, a little talk on an actual topic – how the fight against the pandemic is going. Although this topic actually needs to be discussed not with Peskov, but with relevant ministries and specialists.”
So like in the case of the film about Venediktov, the work time by journalists which was paid by Russian state money was wasted on the promotion of the anti-Russian liberal narrative. Do you need that content? I definitely don’t. If it went in that direction, then Rogers wrote it correctly. Peskov like a PR spokesman should have been asked not about the ‘wisdom of the crapped-pants Pashinian’, but instead about the information war of the West against Russia. There is a whole section of hot topics there:
Alexander Rogers: “For example, how does Mr. Peskov feel about the censorship in Western social networks and platforms? Or to the fact that ‘The New York Times’ journalists calls to ban even truthful information if it can be used against the US Democratic Party? Or even how Twitter censors the acting US president? And how TV channels cutoff the broadcast to his statements, because ‘we don’t like what he’s saying.’ Or how for example, YouTube deleted the channel ‘News-Front’, which had 460,000 subscribers and almost half a billion views on their videos, without any explanation for it? And also, why Google and other Western search engines cut from their search results many Russian medias. (Including Zhurnalistskaya Pravda in that regard)?
But Krasovsky did not ask about any of the named subjects. He only continuously licked the earpiece of his glasses, rolled his shoe around and broadcasted an anti-Russian agenda. Does RT need such employees like him, Maria Baronova, or other liberals picked by Margarita Simonyan? In my opinion, no. What do you think, respectable subscribers?
The US military calls it “our cultural assault” and “ultimate biological warfare”. In 2014 after his Nazi coup Obama openly bragged about it: “Our ability to shape world opinion helped isolate Russia right away.”
The most effective PSYOP in history is Hollywood:

There will be no peace. At any given moment for the rest of our lifetimes, there will be multiple conflicts in mutating forms around the globe. Violent conflict will dominate the headlines, but cultural and economic struggles will be steadier and ultimately more decisive. The de facto role of the US armed forces will be to keep the world safe for our economy and open to our cultural assault. To those ends, we will do a fair amount of killing.”

“Chaos Theory and Strategic Thought
…
With this ideological virus as our weapon, the United States should move to the ultimate biological warfare and decide, as its basic national security strategy, to infect target populations with the ideologies of democratic pluralism and respect for individual human rights. With a strong American commitment, enhanced by advances in communications and increasing ease of global travel, the virus will be self-replicating and will spread in nicely chaotic ways. Our national security, therefore, will be best assured if we devote our efforts to winning the minds of countries and cultures that are at variance with ours. This is the sole way to build a world order that is of long duration (though, as we have seen, it can never achieve absolute permanence) and globally beneficial. If we do not achieve this ideological change throughout the world, we will be left with only sporadic periods of calm between catastrophic reorderings.
A tangible implication of this analysis is a sharp increase in support for the United States Information Agency, the National Endowment for Democracy, and the numerous private-sector exchange and educational programs. This programs lie at heart of an aggressive national security strategy.”

As I used to say – if I were an enemy of Russia then infiltration and destruction of RT from within would be one of my top priorities. Now that I see it happen I am shocked but also not surprised, as I have been observing their decline for a while.
Some Iranian voices I follow are telling a similar story about PressTV.
We are going towards much darker times indeed. God help us.
Welcome to the club Ruslan, i have been asking the same question a few years now..
RT is full off 5th column and garbage. Reading RT is not much different then reading buzzfeed these days.
If I remember correctly the president of RT ( a friend and ally of President Putin) was murdered in New York City a few years ago. Who has control now? I as well noticed the change starting after what amounts to an assassination, RT became not much more than a soft porn site. 2+2 always equals 4.
Bull’s eye. It’s very sad to see. I don’t know what happened. Tits and arse 24/7 on the website, gossip on UFC matches (not my cup of tea but of course, has its place but really, why stress this every day?). There are still good shows and superb documentaries, but the general level has gone down steadily for years. I don’t watch it anymore unless it’s a specific show.
I know they must think they have to dumb-down the material to western audiences, but really? They do not have to sink so low.
Shame, ’cause they were well on their way to being the ultimate world news TV channel of all time. They actually were, for a few years.
(Something happened…)
This stuff with that jackass from Echo of Moscow is a disgrace. Inessa S has the translation of a meeting with Putin, called something like “VVP calls out fifth column”… that guy gets an ear-full.
So strange that Simonyan thinks (?) that doing this will make RT more respected in the West… come on… she surely knows that isn’t true. The West will never respect RT or any Russian media.
Shame and disgrace, totally.
Is part of what i think is the smartness on the concept of RT. RT DOESNT speak in russian highly cultured and informed news-language, because its not meant for russian audiences. It does it at the level of the wapo, nyt, the sun and whatever media is used by the chunk of the sheeple, in a way such sheeple “can get it”.
Anglo-lberalism is the main lingo here, wether we like it or not, and to reach the minds they want to catch they have to speak it.
I will agree with you to a certain extent. It is true that RT is mostly for exterior use and as such targets a typical Western news consumer, who will not even bother accessing certain content unless it is served with a side order of lightly clad women, kittens, violence and similar banalities. The content even has to fit in the usually very short attention span of such a consumer.
(Us Westerners are funny, by the way, we don’t read or watch news, we “consume” them. But I digress.)
Having said this, I stand by my opinion that RT has declined over last couple of years, and not only in terms of quality.
The silence on certain topics is deafening and frankly disturbing. What is happening in the Ukraine, for example? The Donbass Republics? I refuse to believe it is just status quo as the silence might suggest. Even a simple reminder that the war is still raging for the sixth year, that the people of Donbass still struggle and suffer, would be in place. But no. What about Belarus and its struggle against a colored revolution?
Well, you see, it’s an unavoidable corollary, isn’t it?
You are correct I suspect, that RT has altered it’s content, the IQ level, and presentation, to appeal to “Western” masses. However, it has, of course, sunk considerably in quality – it had to if it would be the level of what is in the “West”.
As they say “if you lie down with dogs, you get up with fleas” !!!
Maybe they think that if they can increase mass circulation by aping the mass media, they are still “in the game” and thus can slip in some more balanced RT friendly news “under the radar”. It’s a Russian subtlety and nuance the West in general would never “get”.
Certainly, they lose the intelligent of those of us who despise the Liberals – but then again, they dont need to win us as audience – we are “the choir”.
But certainly calling that creep “one of Russia’s most important men” is a bridge too far!!!
“they dont need to win us as audience – we are “the choir”.
Knowledge is a function of questioning, although many believe knowledge is a function of answering, and are prone to using belief to bridge doubt to attain “answers”, as in your formulation above.
This is one of the prime predicates upon which ideology is based/facilitated and hence is often encouraged.
However not all adopt such methods and hence for some the logical progression would be approximately as follows:
1. What are “The United States of America” and how are they facilitated (a component of which is purpose) ?
2. What are “The Russian Federation” and how are they facilitated ( a component of which is purpose) ?
3. Is the facilitation of “The United States of America” predicated on others being the audience ? – Yes.
4. Is the facilitation of “The Russian Federation” predicated on others being the audience ? – No although the opponents are “convinced” that the answer is YES.
5. Are we the audience of “The United States of America” and what are among the behaviours that illustrate that ?:
Most of the comments and contents of this article and blog are predicated on the notion that the initiator/moderator has the facility and “obligation/right” to analyse, criticise, and offer “solutions” and methods in facilitation to others whom it is assumed do not enjoy the relevant facility, thereby acting as the choir of “The United States of America” through emulation.
6. Are we the audience of “The Russian Federation” and what are among the behaviours that illustrate that? :
Since “Most of the comments and contents of this article and blog are predicated on the notion that the initiator/moderator has the facility and/or “obligation/right” to analyse, criticise, and offer “solutions” and methods in facilitation to others, whom it is assumed have do not enjoy the relevant facility” only a very small portion have the facility and humility to comprehend “The Russian Federation” and respond as appropriate constitute the potential audience capable of some assay of co-operation, where as most continue “acting as the choir of “The United States of America” through emulation.
7. “Are we the audience of “The United States of America” and what are among portals resorted to that illustrate that ?:
Ideology requires many portals of re-enforcement which include but are not limited to:
Voting booths where “rough” levels of ideological immersion are derived which “voters” assign the significance that this is participating in a process of lateral (qualitative) change.
Credit Cards to re-enforce notions of turning back time/futures – “living in the moment”.
Supermarket check-outs – where “must have” is gaining new meanings.
Resort to blogs in the belief that such facilitates the transcendence of “The United States of America”.
8. “Are we the audience of “The Russia Federation” and what are among portals resorted to that illustrate that ?:
Since some who could be a potential audience of ” facility and humility to comprehend “The Russian Federation” and respond as appropriate constitute the audience capable of some assay of co-operation” resort in some assay to “Resort to blogs in the belief that such facilitates the transcendence of “The United States of America”.
and hence illustrate a significant blindspot in understanding “The Russian Federation” which is this:
Concentrate on your own issues instead of what you believe the question “to be”, since as a certain party observed – the efforts of the naive often lead to collateral damage – but are often “disguised” by lets-move-onism-there-is-nothing-to-see, instead of rigorous evaluations of purpose and outcomes.
Hence you are not the audience of “The Russian Federation” despite beliefs to the contrary.
This piece explains a lot…
RT was so promising. Many in China had looked to it as an example of how to bring rational media voices to the English speaking world…
But the last few years I have found it to be less and less enlightening.
The fighting spirit has disappeared. The enlightening moments have become rare… feels like a third rate New York Times….
Thank you, thank you, thank you Ruslan!
So glad journalists in Russia are also recognising the demise of RT under the stewardship of Margarita Simonyan. Funnily enough Scott was one of the first people to warn about her here many years ago……he has been proven right!
The fact she has spent Government money promoting the low life Venediktov says it all……..awful traitor. I refuse to watch any documentary on him and give it views.
I am so glad you brought up that imbecile Krasovsky – he is a total waste of space. Always sucking his glasses and asking the stupidest and most inane questions – I actually complained about him a few weeks ago when RT International showed his interview of Peskov.
Sadly, it is not only RT Russia which has to suffer – RT International keeps showing his interviews too…….
The Russian Government really needs to clear out the liberals from RT – it is destroying its viewership and its website is awful now too. Very few articles which are hard hitting anymore.
Simonyan has gone off the reservation – she showed her true colours back when pregnant and she didn’t bother turning up at the St Petersburg forum – with some silly story/excuse and that ridiculous Meduza affair trying to destroy the police. Then blaming Russia for MH17. She also hired an ex Soros individual to be the editor – look how well that has gone……She should be fired.
Destroying it from within – “Question More”? No longer…..more like “Question Less”.
Don’t like rt for many years, used to watch it not anymore, looks like CNN.
another pablo handle name . i will change mine as to set myself apart.
I gave up on RT a couple of years ago. Very sad. Must be co-owned with Israeli oligarchs
Yes I also think that there is a shift at RT news the recent months
I don’t know why they do it but I don’t go to RT a lot anymore, RT Documentations are still great
Let’s hope they don’t want to be the Russian version of CNN

Why did RT hire liberals?
Because they wanted to present themselves as “acceptable” to the West?
Because they were forced to read Dostoyevsky in Russian literature class and rejected his assessment of liberalism equals mayhem, death and ultimately suicidal, viewing it as hopelessly out-of-date?
Because they are being paid somehow on the side by Western NGO’s many of which are questionably funded?
You got me…I never understood how they could never grasp the inherent racism in the Gemano-Anglosaxon ruling class vis a vis “the Hun”. And that they never seem to appreciate how rich, extremely wealthy their country is both materially as well as culturally. Maybe it is because it was so vast that the centralized centers
were even more important than in a easier accessed country. Well, that bias needs to change especially in times of quick travel, instantaneous communication. There is a cultural lag within Russia it appears.
Well, RT has someone once and awhile who writes something very important like this below on what questions need be asked to assess a vaccine.
https://www.rt.com/news/507829-astrazeneca-covid-vaccine-questions/
Any suggestions for an RT alternate?
I’u could try Sputnik as a website. For TV… dunno right now.
Putin needs to rebuild RT!
I used to look RT from time to time … but I stopped several years ago. Now days I possibly stumble over RT once every second or third month if even so often. The only thing I occasionally follow from RT is Kaiser Report but on youtube (own channel, not the RT-official one).
I used to follow Sputnik especially in Serbian language … but it was long time (many years) ago.
Sputnik in Serbian is basically state propaganda mouth-peace for the Serbian regime and fake patriots.
Even their Serbian language is reflecting their main qualities – loyalty to regime (same with the former director, or what the highest position in the redaction was: the third rate journalist, former redactor for semi-porn magazine, organizer of beauty contests, lately profiled in military hardware but most importantly loyal servant to Serbian egomaniac who has position as Serbia’s president – currently same person is Serbia’s ambassador in Russia).
So in other words I would say: Don’t have too high expectations of Sputnik neither.
I know that the English version has better quality but it seems like Sputnik has been infected by the same virus as RT.
Coincidence?
I suspect not.
Alternative? Learn Russian and try to follow news from the source ;)
Too much to ask? There are some youtube channels with political content with english subtitles though those unfortunately has no official backing (nor financial support) so you have to have arm yourself with patience because you never know whether or when some new video will be translated and uploaded. Another sign of Russia’s total lack of vision regarding media (it is either expensive low quality RT/overpaid Simonynova or bite it).
I use to follow https://sdelanounas.ru/blogs/ (made in Russia, mostly economic news and concentrated of replacement of import products) but it is mostly self financed and in Russian only.
Video blog: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCzQ0mjgA028ALJi83Oi6pDg (in Russian)
With some translator you could get a gist of the content.
There is (used to be) weekly 10-min summary in English but it has been less and less frequent (once a month currently).
https://www.youtube.com/c/RussiaClarified
Instead of supporting such a great small projects Russia is giving tons of money to RT.
bravo. finally rt gets exposed for what its become. i used to avidly read rt as an alt source to the zog propaganda. getting a few angles. being in asia theres also china then the rest. but rt recently has become no different than any usa media in its shameless promotion of pro vaccines pro lockdown pro tyranny pro anything the global agenda dictates. from its purges of comments so that you cant even utter the “j” word without deletion. rt has lost my readership
I find RT is taking on a progressively pro-Western agenda. Losing interest in visiting the site. Too bad. They were responsible for my searching out alternative viewpoints.
A close examination of how Margarita Simonyan came to be hired is in order here so that mistakes will not be repeated. The argument that they need to compete commercialy with the neo-liberal media by doing these things is wrong. In commercial terms they have destroyed their ‘unique selling point’. Being respected in the West should not be an objective. Respected by whom and to what purpose? Do you respect the people you want to be respected by?
RT has obviously been infiltrated and the Russian Government should do something about it.
I suspect (have a feeling) that she has personal connections to Putin and that means that she is out of the touch.
Unfortunately Putin protects his people whatever they do.
“Why Did RT Hire Liberals That Are Bringing Harm to Russia?”
Evaluation is a function of purpose and facility.
Without facility and/or understanding of purpose, “evaluation” is a function of “We the people hold these truths to be self-evident” facilitating the conflation of “chaos theory” and “strategy”.
As many blogs illustrate, “free speech” facilitates increased noise/signal ratios and beliefs of “will be’s” as in :
“Cultural and Educational Exchange and Informational Programs. Such programs will be employed to reinforce the pro-Western orientation of the populace in Eastern Europe, and communicate U.S. views to audiences there.” predicated on the conflations of attempt with achievement, and “broadcast” with “communication”.
“As many blogs illustrate, “free speech” facilitates increased noise/signal ratios and beliefs of “will be’s” as in :
“Cultural and Educational Exchange and Informational Programs. Such programs will be employed to reinforce the pro-Western orientation of the populace in Eastern Europe, and communicate U.S. views to audiences there.” predicated on the conflations of attempt with achievement, and “broadcast” with “communication”
Whilst as many blogs also illustrate, “moderated speech” facilitates increased noise/signal ratios and beliefs of “will be’s” as also in:
““Cultural and Educational Exchange and Informational Programs. Such programs will be employed to reinforce the pro-Western orientation of the populace in Eastern Europe, and communicate U.S. views to audiences there.” predicated on the conflations of attempt with achievement, and “broadcast” with “communication”.”
affording opportunities to others with facility to avail themselves of such opportunities to facilitate their purpose whilst encouraging iteration of the amazement/enmazement conflation.
“affording opportunities to others with facility to avail themselves of such opportunities to facilitate their purpose whilst encouraging iteration of the amazement/enmazement conflation.”
Whilst moderating/modulating Mr. Rove’s contention to illustrate “We are an empire; we create our own reality, to which we react….”
“Whilst moderating/modulating Mr. Rove’s contention to illustrate “We are an empire; we create our own reality, to which we react”
Which results in almost certain self destruction unless there is a fixed ground to which one can fix the ‘position’. In short it’s a stratagem for destruction, disolution, a ferment which is much looked after for the molders, who themselves are anchored very, very rigidly, and they perfectly well know why !
“there is a fixed ground to which one can fix the ‘position’.”
Change is a constant the variables within which include trajectory and velocity.
In another comment thread there were contributions regarding change being a constant, although one participant posited that change “happened” around a fixed point facilitated by counter forces, attempting to use both Heraclitus and biological functions in corroboration , and hence positing that equilibrium – a state of non-change (the end of history/time) – can be achieved.
This assertion that non-change can be achieved has been regularly relied upon by those seeking to maintain social relations from which they benefit when these social relations were subject to challenge.
This assertion of non-change has taken various forms subject to prevailing ideologies/plausible beliefs – the half-lives of ideologies/plausible beliefs being illustrations of velocities and trajectories of change – the trajectories of change being functions of interactions facilitating “experiences” affecting the velocities of change, including the half-lives of ideologies/plausible beliefs.
These assertions have included but have not been limited to:
Mr. Marshall’s Principles of Economics where economic optima/equilibrium are posited as a function of the interaction of supply and demand and hence markets can self-regulate.
Mr. Fukuyama’s End of history which asserts “there is no alternative” ergo no change.
Present attempts to evangelise a “re-set” where a linear moderation of the “present” – not lateral change – will “save humanity”.
The ideologies/plausible beliefs that opponents attempt to evangelise in the hope of achieving “cognitive dissonance ” which they perceive to be of prime and/or sole benefit to themselves, had/have utilities for others pondering how to drown a drowning man with the minimum of blowback, whilst drowning men flailing in “cognitive dissonance” hope through their efforts to make the waves recede, given that “their populations” (possessive case) are perceived to be food sources and human shields.
The fiats of the opponents are not restricted to their “currency” – whose currency/half-life is a function of the fiat/beliefs of others which they seek to misrepresent by notions of sole agency in attempts to deny interaction and change.
Enjoy your journey.
“it’s a stratagem for destruction, disolution, a ferment “
Since change is a constant with variables including trajectories and velocities, change is a process of transcendence which those who attempt to deny/preclude lateral change (transcendence) perceive as defeat/destruction which all strategies become, given that the opponents’ purposes are held to be constants whose “variables” are addressed in playbooks moderated linearly.
Others are guided by the understanding that strategies have half-lives which will be transcended, and hence when the opponents decreed the goal of “full spectrum dominance” and “the end of history” sent out for blinis with honey to accompany afternoon tea.
“given that the opponents’ purposes are held to be constants whose “variables” are addressed in playbooks moderated linearly.
As in :
https://www.rt.com/russia/508114-navalny-sanctions-russian-oligarchs/
encouraging
“… moderating/modulating Mr. Rove’s contention to illustrate “We are an empire; we create our own reality, to which we react”
whilst apparently others don’t react
facilitating resort to “own reality” predicated on bridging doubt by belief
encouraging
“This assertion that non-change can be achieved (which) has been regularly relied upon by those seeking to maintain social relations from which they benefit when these social relations were subject to challenge.”
encouraging
Others sending “out for blinis with honey to accompany afternoon tea.” despite the assertions of some that honey is the preferred option and resort of bears of little brain.
These silly kittens
They’ve lost their mittens
and don’t know where to find them
Leave them alone
and they’ll come home
wagging their tails behind them.
Well if they don’t get lost.
“Whilst moderating/modulating Mr. Rove’s contention to illustrate “We are an empire; we create our own reality, to which we react”
“NATO and the EU are sending a “message” to Russia. Again.”
That is a popular illusion, as Mr. Rove might hope/suggest to which others react, thereby obfuscating that – NATO and the EU are sending a “message” to their “own population” (possessive case not restricted to constructs of “political geography”) and anyone else who “hopefully” might listen “in passing” without reacting.
Broadcasting is a component of transmission not to be conflated with communication, whilst, although also popular, attempt and achievement should never be conflated, except by opponents engaged in wagging dogs.
” In short it’s a stratagem for destruction, disolution, a ferment which is much looked after for the molders, who themselves are anchored very, very rigidly, and they perfectly well know why !”
The “knowledge” is neither perfect nor consistent thereby facilitating iterations of dances/transes around fixed points as in:
Round and round the garden
danced the teddy-bears
A one step, a two step
and a tickly under there.
A collection of three articles by Scott how RT is biased against Russia. All documented with examples and links. There are more articles on his site re how RT is hiring Soros connected people and how RT sabotages Russian government and events.
First article describes how RT avoids posting Russian government official statements (for example “Patrushev and the Missing Official Statement on Iran that enraged Israel”) and avoids links to official Russian sites, but very eagerly provides links to NATO sites. And how RT uses or exposes readers to very problematic, to put it mildly, choice of word and expressions (for example calling NATO forces in Ukraine “the Coalition Forces”).
Second one shows how RT illustrates articles which have something positive to say about Russia with dark gloomy cloudy pictures of its iconic architecture even if an original had a nice or neutral picture with an article. RT also almost completely avoids posting pictures of Putin. If there is a picture of him, it is distorted.
The third article has the most disturbing content which can only be described as Margarita Simonyan lost it. There is a link to her official twit so there is no doubt she really blamed Russia for downing of MH17 and scolded Russians for not admitting it. I added a longer quote from this one, because it shows Margarita crossed to the other side and is in cahoots with liberals in the West too and she is not hiding it.

….. Immediately after Simonyan posted her unfounded accusations, she started receiving support propaganda from the Western media, spreading her words far and high with mind boggling speed. The only explanation I have for an unnatural speed with which articles in support of Simonyan’s accusations were coming is that they were prepared in advance, and that this entire charade was a premeditated and coordinated operation in which Simonyan played a part.
On January 13, 2020, came an article of Leonid Bershidsky for the Bloomberg News Agency titled Iran Admits to Plane Shootdown. Putin Still Won’t. Countries that down airliners usually take responsibility. Not Russia. The article lists historical cases of passengers aircraft shot down by military of different country, with a notable exception of Ukraine shooting down Russian passenger airliner in 2004 over the Black Sea in which a hundred people died and which Ukraine still refuses to admit and apologize, and suggests with no evidence that Russia was involved in the MH17 crash in post-putsch Ukraine and that Russian government must accept guilt for it.
The Bloomberg article begins with a quotation from Simonyan’s tweets:
“Margarita Simonyan, editor-in-chief of Russia’s overseas propaganda channel, RT, had a telling reaction to Iran’s admission that its Revolutionary Guards Corps had accidentally shot down a Ukrainian civilian airliner last week.
“There are two schools of thought
[Simonyan wrote ‘two religions,’ a very important detail. Simonyan tries to pin the Orthodox Christianity and Islam against each other with the Orthodox Christianity being a ‘dishonest,’ in Simonyan’s eyes, and Islam being honest…. S.H.]
on how a big country that demands respect should behave if it messes up catastrophically,” Simonyan wrote in a Twitter thread. She went on:
“Some think the country must deny, deny, deny, never admit anything and never apologize for anything. Otherwise it’ll just get strangled and ‘it’ll only get worse.’ And simply because go to hell. Most decision-makers in most powerful countries I know, including our own, belong to this school of thought [She wrote ‘To this religion.’ S.H.]. The other school of thought [The other religion. S.H.] holds up Iran as an example. Purely as a human, I’m with the latter school. In my book, Iran manned up. [She wrote: Iran acted like male peasants or mujiki. S.H.]
Will things only get worse for it because of that, we’ll see. When people wake up on the other side of the ocean.”
Next sentence Bershidsky reveal the gist of the operation: He writes, “Simonyan’s tweets reveal an internal debate within the Russian establishment on the downing of Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 over eastern Ukraine in 2014.”
Simonyan reposted the Bloomberg’s article in Russian with the following comments: “It doesn’t matter what the Bloomberg says, as long as they base their analysis on my tweets.”
This is outrageous. Essentially, she says that it doesn’t matter what lies the West claims about Russia, as long as they all coordinate their lies.
Another article from the UK Independent: “Russian commentators have made obvious comparisons between the Iranian and Russian responses to their respective disasters, but the most interesting comments came from Margarita Simonyan, the editor-in-chief of Kremlin-funded TV news network RT. She suggested that Iran’s actions showed them to be “real men … unlike other countries … including [Russia].”
The Independent took this provocation further by bringing Simonyan’s claim up during the press conference in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with Sergei Lavrov on January 17th, and asking his to comment on Simonyan’s posts. “I have a question about the Ukrainian Boeing. It was widely discussed last week. The Iranian and Russian approaches were compared in connection with the MH17 flight, and not in a completely favorable way. Do you agree with Margarita Simonyan that in this case Iran acted “like a real man” unlike other countries, including Russia?”
Lavrov gave an extended answer, and listed what’s missing from the Netherlands-created JIT investigation: the Ukrainian air traffic controllers recordings, the investigators reports that should regularly filed to the UNSC, the primary radar data from Ukraine, and the data from the US satellites.
Lavrov also reminded to the Independent’s journalist that “all the radars in Ukraine that were observing this part of the airspace were “turned off” at some point, the same way the video surveillance was turned off in the morning when the Skripals were found on a park bench. It’s just that a camera that was watching their house was turned off and then turned on.”…
…. As of today, Simonyan has not provided any explanation of her position and just insist on it, writing in her Telegram channel bizarre cryptic messages like this one when she quotes the Independent’s journalist question to Lavrov, but NOT Lavrov’s answer: and concludes: “Muzhik: Remember this word.”
I have been censored by RT more than on any other social media. I can write things on Fakebook that RT instantly deletes. The only difference is that I have not been banned by RT. I suppose that is coming. Surprising to me is that RT censors all criticism of Stalin and Lenin and the USSR in general. They also don’t tolerate reference to the Ustashe.
Now I know why. Having become an international news organization, RT had been taken over by degenerates. Wherever there are levers of power, expect Zionist demons to seize them.
RT’s heyday as a media organization that is critical of US and western imperialism was from about 2011 to 2017.
Since then it has become much more timid in criticizing western policies and presenting a Russian point of view. It also has far too many clickbait type stories.
It’s increasingly becoming difficult to differentiate between RT America and a run of the mill US TV network. Granted, it doesn’t do liberal propaganda but it is much more cowardly than it once was.
Is this latest personnel swap a preemptive move to appease the incoming Biden administration? I don’t know but it does follow a pattern that has been recognizable for several years.
I’ve actually wondered if RT UK/USA etc were sold to Western Neoliberals.
It has some appalling antiRussian Neoliberal nonsense in its articles.
OK *maybe* that is part of a wider tactic.
BUT the comments section is as bad as Twitter.
Its done by Spot.IM, a bunch of Neoliberal Californian/Deep State maniacs.
They don’t declare they ban you just say “yes I agree” or something similarly innocent ” doesn’t meet their community standards” and your post disappears after a minute.
All I did was support Putin policy. But even words like “endocrine” re homosexuality are banned.
Some say Facebook is behind that. I’ve told RT and the respondent seemed genuinely concerned so I’m absolutely baffled because RT used to be fantastic. Infact some articles still are.
Come on Putin, save RT. Rid it of the Neoliberal cancer.
Speaking of the commenting system, one blogger named Yalensis (awfulavalanche.wordpress.com) frequently complains of racism in the RT comment sections. Apparently, not even the Russian version of RT is immune to that; even there, I’ve come across comments claiming that man-made ideologies like Nazism are genetic.
We should be so lucky if Spot.IM (which has recently changed its name to OpenWeb) were a bunch of Neoliberal Californian/Deep State maniacs. In fact Spot.IM/OpenWeb operates out of Tel Aviv.
RT has been infiltrated by English spies from England whose agenda is to promote parasitic England and its machinations.
It really is anti Russian in core.
English so called journalists are foreign spies in RT.
It deteriorated some 5years ago.
I recall some articles on RT that have portrayed Britain as a victim of EU hegemony, accusing Germany of strangling Britain. One time there was a brouhaha of a Brexit campaign claiming that Britain didn’t “win two world wars to be ruled by a Kraut” or something like that. Frankly I don’t know of any other country that brags about its victory in both world wars as much as England does.
Another time, and I don’t know if it’s related, but one article published years ago documented the majority opinion in Germany believing that global warming/climate change exists. The commentary was overwhelmingly anti-GW/CC, with one such comment that wished that Trump annex Canada, whose citizens IIRC also believed in GW/CC. Debating the veracity is one thing; wishing to have a country get annexed for holding the ‘wrong’ opinion is another. Weird how, all this time, I was told that leftists (or whatever passes off as such in the US) wanted to stifle free speech.
Back in January 2019 there was an article about a German editorialist for a mainstream publication (can’t remember her name or the publication) who lamented Russia’s commemoration of the victory in Stalingrad. Several comments eventually threw insults at Germans and Germany. Not a lot of folks managed to address the elephant in the room – that the German MSM is run by Anglo-Americans.
I’ve seen examples of commentators, even in the Russian-language version of RT, cite the USA and Britain (e.g. Churchill) as exemplars for Russian foreign policy. One comment in an article about Annegret Kramp-Krannenbauer lamented the fact that Stalin rejected Churchill’s desire to wipe Germany off the face of the Earth. Another comment in another article wished for Russia to do to Germany what the USA did to Japan in 1945. Apparently, even in Russia, some forget the amount of support Britain and the USA gave to Germany and how the USA nuked two Japanese cities in an attempt to intimidate the Soviet Union and prevent a Soviet invasion.
This could all reflect the readers of RT more than RT itself. But then there’s moderation staff who let these comments unaffected.
And yet RT remains a state-sponsored network. How would Putin himself react to all this? All I know is, Putin spent time in what used to be East Germany and is fluent in German. Back in 2014 he even made it clear that Germans themselves were also victims of Nazism, and drew a fine line between older generations and younger ones.
“And yet RT remains a state-sponsored network.”
Projection is popular particularly with spectators.
” Apparently”
What significance do you assign to “RT remains a state-sponsored network” and how do you believe that is manifested, remembering that appearances can be deceptive?
If this answers your question, people have often been saying that RT is state-sponsored (e.g. “Putin’s favorite network”), so I bought into the notion. Even this article itself mentions “state channel”.
“If this answers your question”
Firstly there are two questions although some many think there is only one despite the second being highlighted/predicated by the use of “and”.
Some may also think you have answered question/questions since “questions” like “answers” are subject to interpretation/interpretations.
However the questions you failed to answer were the one’s posed:
1. What significance do you assign to “RT remains a state-sponsored network” .
2. how do you believe that is manifested.
and the caution you failed to consider was:
1. remembering that appearances can be deceptive
a failure consistently illustrated by the content of .joey_n on November 30, 2020 · at 4:00 am EST/EDT
An additional caution that you apparently failed to consider was the usage of the designator Op-Ed in relation to some articles published on the RT portal.

Enjoy your journey.
I apologize for misunderstanding your questions, and I’ll also apologize in advance if I misunderstand again.
For what it’s worth:
1. I assumed that, by ‘state-owned’, RT is funded by the Russian government in much the same way PBS and NPR in the US are funded by the US government – taxes – whereas CNN and NBC are privately-owned and rely on advertising for revenue.
2. I honestly cannot recall seeing any criticism or outright bashing of Putin – at least not directly – on actual RT articles themselves, even on Op-Eds – at least not to the same degree that CNN and NBC have been accused of unfairly portraying president Trump. (maybe it’s because I have not read RT a lot, so if that disqualifies me from offering my two cents’ worth, then I apologize.)
I suppose you’re more knowledgeable than I am, so maybe you could give the final answer. If RT is not ‘state-owned’, then I stand corrected.
Like the broadcast previously filtered through this portal outling some whom and how they interacted to facilitate the transcendence of “the Soviet Union” by the Russian Federation, a broadcast was made to joey_n on December 02, 2020 · at 3:36 am EST/EDT routed through various portals including this portal at circa 05:30 EST/EDT December 03, 2020 but to date has not yet been “published” through this portal in the perception of some who apparently fail to realise that broadcasts are made on transmission.
Perhaps a response from Ms. Johnstone in regard to your points may prove more acceptable to, and illustrative of,
“5. Are we the audience of “The United States of America” and what are among the behaviours that illustrate that ?:
Most of the comments and contents of this article and blog are predicated on the notion that the initiator/moderator has the facility and “obligation/right” to analyse, criticise, and offer “solutions” and methods in facilitation to others whom it is assumed do not enjoy the relevant facility, thereby acting as the choir of “The United States of America” through emulation.”

“Why Did RT Hire Liberals That Are Bringing Harm to Russia?
https://www.rt.com/russia/509168-president-putin-marks-rt-anniversary/
On a more America-centric note, I find it somewhere between puzzling and outrageous that the (capricious) moderation on RT’s English-language website (rt.com) takes place in Tel Aviv.
@corvo
How do you know RT’s English-language moderators are in Tel Aviv? Do you have a link?
While it’s not ideal to have Israelis “moderating” any Internet forum, I could live with it if RT stopped its experiment in kowtowing to globalist liberals and went back to being a thorn in the western establishment’s side.
Perhaps after Biden takes office in January 2021 the good folks at RT will rethink their liberal bias. I’m not holding my breath but it will be a nice surprise if it happens.

Thank you for your various illustrations of reliance on assumption sometimes designated as beliefs, including that RT has “moderators” of English language output.
When RT appeared in Latin America it was like a breath of fresh air, in the face of the hegemony of the western and local mass media, all globalist and unpatriotic. However, after a short time, we began to be surprised by the position similar to that of the mass media with respect to our countries: for example, it joined the systematic campaign of CNN, DW, BBC, RFI, and others, that have been bringing discredit against Chile for at least a decade, highlighting only negative aspects (often alleged) and nothing positive, allied to a “left” enrolled with G. Soros et al., especially highlighting “journalists” such as Inna Afinogenova with such an indisputable bias that they seem more like political activists.
(This media is also not immune to self-serving misinformation: when the so-called social outbreak occurred in Chile on October 18, 2019, I remember a columnist for El Saker, who reported on “tanks in the streets of Santiago”, when in In reality, what the police did most was to defend themselves from the anarchist and criminal hordes … and without tanks)
What is painful and disconcerting about this is that, in my country, and I believe that in Spanish America as well, we will have many admirers of Russia, of its millennial struggle against the aggressions of the West and its resilience; and of having a patriotic president who managed to rescue the country from the clutches of its enemies. So, the position of RT, will make many uninformed bow to the enemies of Russia.
You certainly don’t hear the Western media pounding the table about RT propoganda, anymore. Might be a good reason for that,,,being RT’s “swing” to the right?
I wish it were to the right, because it would already be a clear option. But the mass media with which RT is aligned are those that seek the destruction or internal destabilization of the countries for their control (G. Soros et al.) And conversion; then, it will be on the right or left as appropriate.
It is this person who, in violation of the law, does not liquidate the media despised by the people, according to RT, is worthy of the title of “the main person of Russia.”
What the ef does the above sentence means! LOL
The Americans and Anglos in general have increasingly tried to penetrate and push pro-American propaganda on RT–under their Nazi-style Big Lie of “promoting freedom.”
The hiring of the Anglo America-loving Liberals on RT is a clear sign of this threat.
The Anglo Americans believe they have a right to colonize any media that is independent of their (cough) Free Press–all the while they hysterically accuse other nations of trying to influence their own media … and to justify their own censorship.
