Hmm Free trade between China and South Korea just signed in November, and now Russia is willing to coop. with S. Korea in energy, shipbuilding, and a number of sectors… Smell anything here? :/ Seems like both are suddenly focusing on S. Korea… And then considering N. Korea… and the US influence in S.Korea, are they trying to get influence as fast as possible in S.Korea?

Sorry for double post, did anyone hear about the unrest in Sweden? Apparently ANNA news got it from this source http://ruriktochkase.livejournal.com/168506.html and decided that it is credible enough to repost, some people are saying that it is true and started by people of the far right

Russian coal as well for SK, by rail via NK by the looks of it. Seems crazy to me given the ease of getting cheap coal from Aus.

A new type of anti-immigration protest is sweeping across Germany, as thousands take to the streets against what they say is the growing “Islamisation” of the country.

South Korean and China have been deeply connected for two decades. Check out the Dalian area economic zone. Most South Korean foreign investment has gone to China over the last decade and half.

Korea is in the economic doldrums because of the US economic and political pressures. Pres. Park’s first trip after taking office was an extensive trip reconnecting SK with Beijing. Importantly, connecting the students of SK with China. She sees the future synergistically with China. And only China has the slightest influence on NKorea. But at least it can talk to them when no one else can.

Though, Putin has opened up a line of discussion to NKorea. Both big countries want NK to give up the nukes and get unified economically with SK, China and Russia. That would bring SKorea to the Eurasian development project and change the dynamics in the Yellow Sea and Sea of Japan zones.

IMF warns Ukraine bailout at risk of collapse

Don’t be defeatist. It’s going to be a beautiful love story. I think it should be called “When Yats met Vicky”.
Preamble: “From the moment he tasted her cookies in the Maidan, it was love at first bite. She meant everything to him. Her confidence, her earthiness, her contacts in DC were unprecedented. She was a far cry from the overweight milkmaids of his youth that he had repeatedly failed to seduce. Suddenly it all seemed possible. With her tireless scheming, he would rise to lead the biggest eastern European backwater out of stagnation and into the bright European sun. He would address international summits and dazzle audiences galore with the Ukrainian Success Story. There was only one problem. His ambiguous relationship with the domineering no-nonsense Angela. What if Vicky found out? Vicky hated Europeans……” Read on………..

Any deal on South Korea and North Korea would be quite simple from a Chinese point of view.

The ultimatum to South Korea would be as follows. If you kick US troops out of South Korea we will deliver you North Korea on a platter and we will also help you fund the reconstruction of North Korea to boot.

    But.

    No US Troops. No IMF.

Pretty simple really. US will hate it, but they’ll still have Japan at least.

What will happen? It all depends on whether South Korea has the cohones to boot the US troops out.

    Do they????

I reckon they do, but it still might be 2 or 3 years away.

Regarding what’s going on in Greece at the moment – now would be a very opportune time for Putin, or another senior Russian Leader to offer Greece a piece of this new Blue Stream gas pipeline to Turkey (that is supposed to go up to the Greek Border).

Very opportune time indeed. If Greece signed onto this pipeline and departed the Euro as a consequence – that would once and for all stop the EU supporting the US meddling in Ukraine.

Putin could really offer this pipeline as a deal to help bring Greece out of never-ending Eurozone/German imposed recession.

    Could be a masterstroke…..

Greek Presidential Vote next Wednesday (17/12). Bound to fail….

Snap election in Greece reignites fears for eurozone

Elaine Moore and Robin Wigglesworth in London, Kerin Hope in Athens and Peter Spiegel in Brussels

Greece’s political woes re-erupted as a threat to global financial stability yesterday, triggering the biggest drop on the Athens stock exchange since the 1980s and sending reverberations through world markets.
Concerns about Greece fed into a broader fall in global stock markets, already spooked by sliding oil prices and a sharp drop in Chinese equities. The S&P 500 fell 1 per cent shortly after opening while the EuroStoxx index of eurozone companies fell for the second day, down 2.5 per cent.

The trigger for the plunge was prime minister Antonis Samaras’ announcement of a snap presidential election. If he fails to win sufficient support for his candidate, an early general election could follow which investors fear will bring to power the radical left Syriza party.
Such an outcome would reignite fears about Greece’s place within Europe’s monetary union. Syriza wants to renegotiate the country’s sovereign debt and hike public spending, moves which would put Athens at loggerheads with its creditors.
“Greece in the next 6 weeks may prove to be more important for global markets than Russia/Ukraine was in 2014,” said Charles Robertson, chief economist at Renaissance Capital. “A possible Syriza election victory may force the eurozone to choose between a fiscal union (debt write off for Greece) or the first Euro exit.”
The Athens exchange closed 12.8 per cent lower on Tuesday, the biggest one day fall since December 1987. Greek banks led the market decline, with shares in Attica Bank losing more than 26 per cent and Piraeus Bank 17 per cent.
Anxiety about political turmoil also led investors to price in a greater chance of Greece defaulting on its debt, pushing short term government borrowing costs above long term rates.
In a brief television appearance, Mr Samaras said he decided to bring forward the presidential contest — a vote by members of parliament — to restore political stability following pressure on the government to hold an early general election.
“The presidential vote had become an excuse for blackmail over early elections,” he said, referring to Syriza’s recent demands for an immediate vote.
“Even though we have stabilised the economy and have finally returned to growth, clouds have gathered in Greece over political stability and there is uncertainty abroad about Greece’s prospects,” he said.
Mr Samaras had originally promised to end Greece’s punishing four-year bailout era this month, but failed to undertake the reforms necessary to secure the concluding bailout payment.

Also Because I am noticing on Russian type news sites that supposedly the ceasefire is holding, yet on Cassad, it says the shooting continues.

Furthermore the leadership of Donbass/Luhansk are not travelling to Minsk, they are going to have a “skype meeting”

I am thinking these things are linked.

HOT NEWS MOSCOW, December 10. /TASS/. Russian military led by Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Ground Forces Alexander Lentsov are providing assistance to the Ukrainian south-east conflict sides in reaching compromise for deescalation of tension and troops’ pullout, Chief of the Russian General Staff General Valery Gerasimov said on Wednesday.
The mission was sent at the request of the Chief of the Ukrainian General Staff, Viktor Muzhenko, said Gerasimov.
At a meeting with military attaches from more than 50 countries Gerasimov said that the conflict in Ukraine runs counter to Russia’s interest and added that Russia is not a side in the conflict.
“Representatives of the Russian Armed Forces led by Lieutenant General Alexander Lentsov have been sent to the Debaltsevo settlement of the Donetsk region at the request of Chief of the Ukrainian General Staff Lieutenant Colonel Viktor Muzhenko,” Gerasimov said.

The Russian General Staff chief said that the mission’s task “is to provide assistance jointly with the OSCE to the conflict sides – the Ukrainian troops and local militias – to find compromise solutions for the deescalation of tension and pullout of troops from the contact line.”
“The main goal is to stop the shelling of residential districts in which innocent civilians are killed,” Gerasimov said.
“Frankly speaking, everything is complicated. If not for constant outside interference of representatives of a number of European countries – NATO members and the United States, the problems’ settlement would be easier,” he added.
However, he said, the current results give the hope that the Russian military mission in Debaltsevo will be fulfilled.

Wonder if Ukr Chief of Staff is aware of anything else going on-eg getting rid of private militias etc………

“””Ukrainian parliament to prepare bill declaring punitive operation in Donbas a war. An MP from the People’s Front fraction in parliament, Dnipro-1 battalion commander Yuriy Bereza, has said the Parliamentary Committee on national security and defense is preparing a resolution on declaring the events in the east of Ukraine to be a war.

Ukrainian secret services will crack down on media outlets criticizing the country’s government because they «are receiving funding from Russia and have a special anti-Ukrainian mission,» Yury Lutsenko, head of the Petro Poroshenko Bloc parliamentary party, told Verkhovna Rada deputies on December 9. On behalf of his party, Lutsenko urged the secret services to repel «anti-state elements and spies and the Kremlin’s fifth column.»””””

An MP from the People’s Front fraction in parliament, Dnipro-1 battalion commander Yuriy Bereza, has said the Parliamentary Committee on national security and defense is preparing a resolution on declaring the events in the east of Ukraine to be a war-surely Rus can use this to point out duplicity of west as IMF funding war against its constitution.

The Russian Defense Ministry has denied reports that one of its plane entered Estonia’s airspace on Tuesday. On that day, a Russian military plane flew from Kubinka to Khrabrovo according to its itinerary and in line with international rules of the use of airspace, TASS quoted Russian military as saying on Wednesday. Estonia’s General Staff earlier said that the plane was in the country’s airspace for less than a minute-provocation time again?
