SEPT 2
WASHINGTON – The US Pacific Command has for the first time developed a schedule for naval patrols in the South China Sea, with freedom of navigation operations (FONOPS) two or three times over the next few months, a report said on Friday (Sept 1), quoting unnamed US officials.
I thought it was interesting that India has nothing to say about climate change. About 2/3rds through the topic of climate change was discussed and there was, of course criticism of Trump and the US for pulling out of Paris, but India made no such condemnations and remained silent on the issue as a whole.
You are certainly not going to hear anything negative about the US from India which is now its biggest arms customer its full ally and partner against China and Russia – fully initiated into the Neoliberal US Empire. India is also building a large number of nuclear plants approved by Westinghouse and the West from which they can eventually get fuel for more bombs.
Given the intensity of the hatred for China by Modi and India and its dedication to its economic containment including its military alliance with the US Japan and Australia directly pointed at China it is difficult to see BRICS achieving nearly what it might.
What needs to happen is the decoupling from the dollar system – I think it is unlikely India would support that.
