Yes, Ruslan Ostashko is correct. Russia is indeed dealing with sick people. Bolton had the audacity to demand that Russia admit it’s interference with US elections, and thus “legalize” the sanctions the US introduced for something that did not happen. How clever.
On numerous occasions I have written that the Washington political elite has lost all sense of reality. This is just additional proof. On the other hand, the US empire is following the path of all previous empires. It cannot change. It will be more of the same, right until the bitter collapse.
They lost any sense of reality both on internal affairs and foreign affairs.

One would think Trump would have final say on Sanctions, but Bolton thinks he is in charge of foreign policy. Indeed it seems the USA is agreement incapable.
Trump at this time has very little power.
Congress exerted itself as the top-dog on sanctions. They passed a bill early in Trump’s term last year that increased sanctions and forbade the President from removing the sanctions without Congressional approval. Trump could not have veto’d this bill even if he wanted to because he was under threat of impeachment and had to go along.
Trump also has large parts of his government out of his control. Certainly the military and the CIA, both of which have been beyond civilian control for a long time. Trump doesn’t even control his own Justice Dept, witness the tweets of late complaing that his Attorney General doesn’t do what Trump wants.
A government that does not control the military nor the internal police doesn’t really control anything. Add to that the fact that the Fed and the bankers control the economy. In fact, its hard to think of one agency of the government that Trump does control. About the only thing Trump controls is his twitter account. And even then there were questions early on about whether Trump could keep control of that.
If you want to make an agreement with America, then you need to have a meeting with the Wall Street bankers and the top officers in the American military. They are the ones that can make a serious agreement and make it stick. It might not hurt to have the CIA in the meeting. But those are the people who run things. Trump just tweets.

There was commentary during Obama’s adminsitration that he was expanding the power of the Executive Branc via various actions he took.There was handwringing about what would occur if these new expanded powers fell into the lap of a “dictator” or some sort.
Then there was the whole issue of Bush’s II’s executive signings, or whatever they were called.
So, in the question of Trump’s powerlessness, I can’t help speculating that the real problem for him is that he does not understand the power of his office. He doesn’t understand that he is the administrative head of each department in the executive branch—not the secretary/minister of that dept. If Trump doesn’t like what Sessions does, Trump can reprimand him and fire him if necessary. Hasn’t anyone told Trump this?

Geneva talks ended in a more comical way than could be expected.
National Security Advisor to the US President John Bolton was unable to sign the final joint statement with the Secretary of the Russian National Security Council Nikolai Patrushev.
Remember what I said before about the US-Russian meeting in Geneva? I said: “They won’t agree on anything”.
Indeed, they did not agree on anything. Nikolai Patrushev did not hide who was to blame.
“We planned to sign a statement at the end of the meeting, but did not sign it, because the Americans wanted us to acknowledge that we interfered in their elections, whereas we deny that”.
“I.e., this subject is too weak to discuss”. “Weak subject” means that one side demands that the other acknowledges imaginary crimes, which have already served as pretext for sanctions.
Look how pathetic the US foreign policy is. “We know that you interfered in our elections. We have proof, but so very secret, we won’t show it to you. Here are the sanctions for you“.
“Have you gone totally mad? We did not interfere”.- “Acknowledge that you interfered, then we will sign joint statement”. –
– “We won’t acknowledge anything. You stated that you have proof. Why would you need our acknowledgement if you do have proof?”-
– “Well, we will introduce additional sanctions for that, because you do not acknowledge”.
Sounds like idiocy? Oh no. This is the new Washington diplomacy.
At all talks about anything the US demands only one thing – capitulation. Why would we capitulate if the US can’t do anything to us militarily,
and even in the field of economics the US shat itself way back under Obama, and still walk with their pants full. There are many examples.
Here is what Bolton said about attempts to come to an agreement about Iran. “Patrushev proposed to determine geographical limits for Iran forces presence in Syria,
and the US in exchange delays the introduction of new sanctions. We had refused this before and refused it today. The sanctions are coming back, that’s a given”.
See just how perverse they are. Basically, we are talking about Israel’s desire to protect itself against the conflict with Iran on the Syrian territory.
Russia says, OK, define geographical limits for the presence of the Iranian armed forces. What’s the answer?
“Putin must capitulate, Khamenei must capitulate. Otherwise we’ll kick your ass with sanctions”.
How can one even try to come to an agreement with the US? Their vision of the reality is so distorted,
they still think in terms of 2001, when the US could afford to invade Afghanistan without asking anyone.
Basically, we are dealing with sick people. That is why, despite public statement that the talks were constructive, there has been no progress and no progress is in sight.
For the American paradigm to change, Washington has to suffer a humiliating military defeat, which cannot be ignored, or disintegrate under the weight of economic problems.
After that, it would have other thing to worry about rather than issuing ultimatums. There are no other possibilities.
It is clear that Russia does not plan to fight the US militarily. It is sufficient that Russia’s defenses are strengthened, so that the US won’t be able to attack Russia.
What are the options, then? Keep buying gold; stop trading in the US dollars; pick up the vassals that the hegemon is losing, like Turkey;
keep making unexpected geopolitical moves, like the appearance of Russian troops in Central African Republic, and remain calm.
Let all these boltons rush around the globe with their ultimatums. One can ignore them just like the smiling North Korean leader does.
Russia is not afraid of the US, no matter how much the US is trying to scare Russia.
They know that we are not afraid of them. That’s what prompts these hysterical moves in Geneva.

Diplomats can always come up with a statement. A meeting can be nothing of yelling claims, threats and insults for two hours, and the Diplomats come up with language about a “frank exchange of views.” :)
So, the Americans refused to agree to such a non-statement statement and tried to force a Russian capitulation on the myth that the Russians meddled in the election using only as a threat not to have a joint statement that would quickly be forgotten? Oh, I’m sure that had the Russian delegation shaking in their boots and on the verge of capitulation. Yeah, right.
The problem with making threats is that when it is revealed that you don’t have the ability to back up your threats, then you just look weak and silly.

Ruslan Ostashko is right, Russia doesn’t feel fear from the US and is just keeping his way to get arms to defend his country in case of attacks. But the problem is that the world is in dangerous and in some cases as in Syria Russia has to respond with his military power. The same will happen in Ukraine or if is the case in any other war against his allies as Serbia. Hopefully USA will crumble from inside…
After reading Ruslan’s account of the meeting between Bolton and Patrushev, I went to Bolton’s press conference video. expecting to see a rabid lunatic in the mould of John McCain.
What I saw was someone very calm, measured and positive about the meeting. Boltons assessment of the meeting was that they discussed a wide range of topics over a 5 hour period and that he felt considerable progress was made. Bare in mind that he said the purpose of the meeting was to build channels of communication so that the US and Russia could in the future work better together.
There were no snide remarks, no nastiness. No hysterics.
I do wonder if Ruslan even watched Boltons press conference before writing this article.
