Yes, Ruslan Ostashko is correct. Russia is indeed dealing with sick people. Bolton had the audacity to demand that Russia admit it’s interference with US elections, and thus “legalize” the sanctions the US introduced for something that did not happen. How clever.
On numerous occasions I have written that the Washington political elite has lost all sense of reality. This is just additional proof. On the other hand, the US empire is following the path of all previous empires. It cannot change. It will be more of the same, right until the bitter collapse.
They lost any sense of reality both on internal affairs and foreign affairs.
The American voters have been telling them to change direction for over a decade. But they of course refuse to listen. Their answer to that is to become the most extensive surveilence state in the history on mankind. Their answer to this is large, militarized internal police forces. Their answer to this is having the police kill over a thousand Americans every year, and more each year than the year before. Their answer to this is to imprison more people than any other nation on earth. The rogue American oligarchy feels that the only thing that needs to change is that athletes have to be forced to stand for the flag at the under threats and intimidation.
The Hillary campaign was of course a campaign by a person who felt empowered by the oligarchs and who lost all sense of reality of what ordinary people want. The perfect image of the American elite is the befuddled look on Hillary’s face as she still can’t figure out What Happened.
Their answer to this is large, militarized internal police forces. Their answer to this is having the police kill over a thousand Americans every year, and more each year than the year before.
It’s the Japanese Samurai solution: use goons to terrorize the 99% and keep them docile. Most people in the West think of the Samurai in terms of Bushido, loyalty, and service, but they never stop to ask themselves, loyalty to whom? Why, the 1% of course. The Samurai were definitely thugs: they had the right to kill a peasant for disrespect. The movie “The Seven Samurai” by Akira Kurosawa shows what the peasants in Japan think of their sword-wielding overlords. The many parallels between the Samurai and the U.S.’s uniformed, gun-toting police are disturbing.

Smart advice. However, Putin knows this. If you analyze Russian strategy, you will see that Russia is precisely doing this. Judo tactics. You use your opponents weight against him.
Bolton demanding that Russia admit interfering in the elections goes against everything Trump says or needs. Bolton does not care what his theoretical Boss, Trump thinks, but only cares what Adelson and Netanyahu think
One would think Trump would have final say on Sanctions, but Bolton thinks he is in charge of foreign policy. Indeed it seems the USA is agreement incapable.
Congress exerted itself as the top-dog on sanctions. They passed a bill early in Trump’s term last year that increased sanctions and forbade the President from removing the sanctions without Congressional approval. Trump could not have veto’d this bill even if he wanted to because he was under threat of impeachment and had to go along.
Trump also has large parts of his government out of his control. Certainly the military and the CIA, both of which have been beyond civilian control for a long time. Trump doesn’t even control his own Justice Dept, witness the tweets of late complaing that his Attorney General doesn’t do what Trump wants.
A government that does not control the military nor the internal police doesn’t really control anything. Add to that the fact that the Fed and the bankers control the economy. In fact, its hard to think of one agency of the government that Trump does control. About the only thing Trump controls is his twitter account. And even then there were questions early on about whether Trump could keep control of that.
If you want to make an agreement with America, then you need to have a meeting with the Wall Street bankers and the top officers in the American military. They are the ones that can make a serious agreement and make it stick. It might not hurt to have the CIA in the meeting. But those are the people who run things. Trump just tweets.
You may be right about Trump not haviong any control.
I won’t argue.
But want to point out:
The power of the executive branch has been relentlessly expanded over recent decades, and this fact has been note repeatedly by political scientists. The expansion of the power of the executiive has been well documented. Books have been written about this. Pubished by the Ur-DC mouthpiece the Brookings Institution
There was commentary during Obama’s adminsitration that he was expanding the power of the Executive Branc via various actions he took. There was handwringing about what would occur if these new expanded powers fell into the lap of a “dictator” or some sort.
Then there was the whole issue of Bush’s II’s executive signings, or whatever they were called.
The American hysterics at the meeting of Bolton and Patrushev.
Ruslan Ostashko
Geneva talks ended in a more comical way than could be expected.
National Security Advisor to the US President John Bolton was unable to sign the final joint statement with the Secretary of the Russian National Security Council Nikolai Patrushev.
Remember what I said before about the US-Russian meeting in Geneva? I said: “They won’t agree on anything”.
Indeed, they did not agree on anything. Nikolai Patrushev did not hide who was to blame.
“We planned to sign a statement at the end of the meeting, but did not sign it, because the Americans wanted us to acknowledge that we interfered in their elections, whereas we deny that”.
“I.e., this subject is too weak to discuss”. “Weak subject” means that one side demands that the other acknowledges imaginary crimes, which have already served as pretext for sanctions.
Look how pathetic the US foreign policy is. “We know that you interfered in our elections. We have proof, but so very secret, we won’t show it to you. Here are the sanctions for you“.
“Have you gone totally mad? We did not interfere”.- “Acknowledge that you interfered, then we will sign joint statement”. –
– “We won’t acknowledge anything. You stated that you have proof. Why would you need our acknowledgement if you do have proof?”-
– “Well, we will introduce additional sanctions for that, because you do not acknowledge”.
Sounds like idiocy? Oh no. This is the new Washington diplomacy.
At all talks about anything the US demands only one thing – capitulation. Why would we capitulate if the US can’t do anything to us militarily,
and even in the field of economics the US shat itself way back under Obama, and still walk with their pants full. There are many examples.
Here is what Bolton said about attempts to come to an agreement about Iran. “Patrushev proposed to determine geographical limits for Iran forces presence in Syria,
and the US in exchange delays the introduction of new sanctions. We had refused this before and refused it today. The sanctions are coming back, that’s a given”.
See just how perverse they are. Basically, we are talking about Israel’s desire to protect itself against the conflict with Iran on the Syrian territory.
Russia says, OK, define geographical limits for the presence of the Iranian armed forces. What’s the answer?
“Putin must capitulate, Khamenei must capitulate. Otherwise we’ll kick your ass with sanctions”.
How can one even try to come to an agreement with the US? Their vision of the reality is so distorted,
they still think in terms of 2001, when the US could afford to invade Afghanistan without asking anyone.
Basically, we are dealing with sick people. That is why, despite public statement that the talks were constructive, there has been no progress and no progress is in sight.
For the American paradigm to change, Washington has to suffer a humiliating military defeat, which cannot be ignored, or disintegrate under the weight of economic problems.
After that, it would have other thing to worry about rather than issuing ultimatums. There are no other possibilities.
It is clear that Russia does not plan to fight the US militarily. It is sufficient that Russia’s defenses are strengthened, so that the US won’t be able to attack Russia.
What are the options, then? Keep buying gold; stop trading in the US dollars; pick up the vassals that the hegemon is losing, like Turkey;
keep making unexpected geopolitical moves, like the appearance of Russian troops in Central African Republic, and remain calm.
Let all these boltons rush around the globe with their ultimatums. One can ignore them just like the smiling North Korean leader does.
Russia is not afraid of the US, no matter how much the US is trying to scare Russia.
They know that we are not afraid of them. That’s what prompts these hysterical moves in Geneva.
Thanks!… yes, I’m a reader and don’t really like videos. So Thanks!
Diplomats can always come up with a statement. A meeting can be nothing of yelling claims, threats and insults for two hours, and the Diplomats come up with language about a “frank exchange of views.” :)
So, the Americans refused to agree to such a non-statement statement and tried to force a Russian capitulation on the myth that the Russians meddled in the election using only as a threat not to have a joint statement that would quickly be forgotten? Oh, I’m sure that had the Russian delegation shaking in their boots and on the verge of capitulation. Yeah, right.
The problem with making threats is that when it is revealed that you don’t have the ability to back up your threats, then you just look weak and silly.
Many Anglo Saxon political leaders like John Bolton, John McCain (gone now), Boris Johnson etc are pure mental patients, speading threats to the world irrationaly while accusing others of being agressive.
The French and Germans today issued statements about Europe not being able to depend on USA defending them. Europe suffers from sanctions more than Russia and Iran. The USA is a rogue nation and a threat for all nations, especially Europeans. So EU has to either declare USA/UK/Israel as an enemy, or else submit to them.
”Many Anglo Saxon political leaders like John Bolton, John McCain (gone now), Boris Johnson etc are pure mental patients, speading threats to the world irrationaly while accusing others of being agressive.”
Exactly. The quite interesting corollary question this brings up is: Were they any different ever ? Winston Churchill, Enoch Powell, Tony Blair, James Monroe, Harry Truman, George Bush, and what-have-you. Psychopaths and genocidalists en masse.
Extract”……..Washington issued another set of illegitimate one-sided sanctions against Russia. Reminds me of playing chess when you know you have a winning position. No need to rush or upset the board.
Much as we would all like to see the bully kicked in the nuts, there is no need.
The US is fast loosing any friends. Eurasia is de-dollarising and Europe is looking at its own payments system and going the same way. This is truly the end game. But like all Empires they won’t go quietly – hence the stupid behaviour. But as Ruslan says, without a military option anymore its all just hot air. I must say I’m enjoying this!
John Bolton and the US Neocons are now upstaged by President Trump and his wolverine economic team, which have ended NAFTA with a new, bilateral Mexican trade agreement — in 90 days from next Friday. (The original NAFTA agreement requires a 90-day delay to smooth the transition.)
Canada will be offered the same, bilateral terms. In essence, China will no longer be allowed to import goods into the USA, without stiff import-duties, simply because these passed through Mexico, or Canada.
Trump reached a comparable deal in principle with the EU several weeks ago.
With these new agreements, President Trump continues to re-position North America as an economic engine independent of trans-oceanic trade — with all the entanglements that require 700 foreign military bases, aircraft carriers and such. Should President Trump succeed in his economic re-organization, his nation’s minimal reliance on foreign trade will come to resemble that of the USA in 1940.
It goes without saying, the danger to President Trump — originating from those profiting off Chinese/Vietnamese etc. wage-slaves — is immense.
Further on the post-Nafta trade agreement with Mexico.
President Trump may have ceded, for now, the State and Justice Department to the Deep State, but not the US economy. The new, post-NAFTA, trade agreement with Mexico requires that 75% of auto / truck assembly take place in Mexico and that 40-45% of all auto parts be fabricated with labor earning a minimum of $16 / hr. Comparable requirements apply to household appliances.
One consequence of the agreement is that Germany’s new BMW auto plant in Mexico will need to replace Asian auto parts with those fabricated in either the USA or Mexico — if the company wishes to import their vehicles into the USA without a 25% import tax.
No wonder the incoming (populist) Mexican President Andres Lopez-Obrador is thrilled and departing (globalist) Pena Nieto is very unhappy. Also happy will be thousands of Mexicans and Americans fabricating steel, created in North America, into auto / washing machine / HVAC parts.
These people are rabid zio cons well funded by adelson, et al.
Unfortunately, they have a major influence on what could pass for foreign policy of the trump admin. They and AIPAC are dictating the campaign against iran and syria. and pretty much own congress.
Ruslan Ostashko is right, Russia doesn’t feel fear from the US and is just keeping his way to get arms to defend his country in case of attacks. But the problem is that the world is in dangerous and in some cases as in Syria Russia has to respond with his military power. The same will happen in Ukraine or if is the case in any other war against his allies as Serbia. Hopefully USA will crumble from inside…
After reading Ruslan’s account of the meeting between Bolton and Patrushev, I went to Bolton’s press conference video. expecting to see a rabid lunatic in the mould of John McCain.
What I saw was someone very calm, measured and positive about the meeting. Boltons assessment of the meeting was that they discussed a wide range of topics over a 5 hour period and that he felt considerable progress was made. Bare in mind that he said the purpose of the meeting was to build channels of communication so that the US and Russia could in the future work better together.
There were no snide remarks, no nastiness. No hysterics.
I do wonder if Ruslan even watched Boltons press conference before writing this article.
All a mirage to pretend to USA citizens that they have a reasoned logical sensible representative they can trust……whereas the current joint Russian- Chinese military exercises “Vostok demonstrates Russia’s focus on exercising large-scale conflict. It fits into a pattern we have seen over some time: a more assertive Russia, significantly increasing its defense budget and its military presence,” he said.” https://sputniknews.com/world/201808281067532843-nato-russia-vostok-2018/
Whereas maybe NATO is looking for an excuse to do something about Russia’s fleet build up in eastern Med by blaming any defense against the presence of NATO ships if it feels
“We will not speculate on the intention of the Russian fleet, but it is important that all actors in the region exercise restraint and refrain from worsening an already disastrous humanitarian situation in Syria,” added the spokesperson.”
Plus USA has resurrected its 2nd Fleet to push back against Russian navy going about its legitimate business in international waters but specifically 2nd fleet purpose is to confront Russian naval fleet in arctic waters at both east and west ends of Russia……in other words needlessly setting up false scenarios to justify its malign intentions looking for excuses to justify raising its russophobic hysterical claims. As usual.
Meanwhile, the Democrats and their “progressive” supporters are throwing a major tantrum that Donald Trump has not obsequiously paid full-homage to American war criminal…er hero, John “Bomb, Bomb Iran” McCain.
To think, Democrats and (faux) progressives used to at least pretend to be antiwar.
Now they openly embrace Neocon militarists and war criminals like Insane John McCain.
Demo-rats and progressives are only liberal wing of the American Evil Empire–and no better than Neocons like John Bolton.
US elites are demented. I’m done trying to understand them. What is there to understand when you see that they are demented? All that Russia, China, Iran, and the rest of humanity can do is strengthen one’s defenses and carefully push back.
The US and its Anglosphere and EU vassals are showing signs of political, economic, and social stagnation which will eventually catch up with the US military.
The true Weapon of Mass Destruction that America’s legion of propagandists obscure is American Dollar Imperialism.
As William Engdahl reveals, America is currently waging a covert financial war against all opponents of the USA’s unipolar world order by weaponizing the imperial Dollar:
Essentially, the United States is preparing to detonate a global financial crisis similar to the 1997 Asian Financial Crisis that the Americans covertly were behind:
“The Fed is weaponizing the US dollar and the preconditions are in many ways similar to that during the 1997 Asia crisis. Then all it needed was a concerted US hedge fund attack on the weakest Asian Tier economy, the Thai Baht to trigger collapse across most of South Asia to South Korea and even Hong Kong. Today the trigger is Trump and his bellicose tweets against Erdogan.
The US Trump trade wars, political sanctions and new tax laws, in the context of the clear Fed strategy of dollar tightening, provide the backdrop to wage a dollar war against key political opponents globally without ever having to declare war. All it took was a series of trade provocations against the huge China economy, political provocations against the Turkish government, new groundless sanctions against Russia, and banks from Paris to Milan to Frankfurt to New York and anyone else with dollar loans to higher risk emerging markets began the rush for the exit. The Lira collapses as a result of near panic selling, or the Irancurrency crisis, the fall of the Russian ruble. All reflects the beginning, as likely does the decline in the China Renminbi, of a global dollar shortage.
If Washington succeeds on November 4 in cutting all Iran oil exports, world (dollar) oil prices could soar above 100 dollars, adding dramatically to the developing world dollar shortage. This is war by other means. The Fed dollar strategy is acting now as a “silent weapon” for not so quiet wars. If it continues it could deal a serious setback to the growing independence of Eurasian countries around the China New Silk Road and the Russia-China-Iran alternative to the dollar system. The role of the dollar as lead global reserve currency and the ability of the Federal Reserve to control it, is a weapon of massive destruction and a strategic pillar of American superpower control. Are the nations of Eurasia or even the ECB ready to deal effectively?”

If Trump doesn’t like what Sessions does, Trump can reprimand him and fire him if necessary. Hasn’t anyone told Trump this?

Thanks demodok, how’s ‘ignorance’ for naming it?
I’d suggest Militant parasitism. That’s what fuels much of their manifest insanity.
Satanic or demonic, hellish, …
Thanks for good ideas .Also comes to mind : Global Predator categorized as very likely to become extinct .

It fits into a pattern we have seen over some time: a more assertive Russia, significantly increasing its defense budget and its military presence,” he said.”
