” An American spy plane had a near miss after a Chinese jet intercepted it over the Yellow Sea in an dangerous mid-air stunt.
The U.S. RC-135 had been gathering electronic intelligence when the interceptor flew in front – in a maneuver described as ‘unsafe’ by the American crew.
Pentagon Press Secretary Peter Cook confirmed the department was reviewing a report of the incident on September 15 which occurred some 80 miles east off China’s Shandong Peninsula.
It is the second time a near-collision has occurred between a US jet and aircraft from the People’s Republic of China.
Last year a Chinese fighter jet hot-shot did a Top Gun-style barrel roll just 30ft from a US jet in what was criticized as a ‘very dangerous’ stunt.
Senators have now criticized China for the stint and the Obama administration, calling for a more ‘forceful’ response.
Armed Services Committee Chairman Sen. John McCain warned the stunt revealed China’s ‘aggression’ around its borders.
‘Yet another dangerous Chinese intercept of a U.S. aircraft last week shows that China feels emboldened to continue its pattern of aggressive behavior in the Asia-Pacific region,’ he told
As relations thaw, the Chinese and U.S. military were able reach a memorandum of understanding in Beijing last November.
But a formal agreement to govern aerial intercepts has not been reached as China insists all U.S. surveillance flights near its coasts are halted, while the Pentagon rejected the ban.
Rick Fisher, a China military analyst, warned that the dangerous aerial encounter required ‘a very firm U.S. response.’
Rep. J. Randy Forbes (R., Va.), chairman of the House Armed Services Subcommittee on Sea Power, also criticized China’s behavior in the house, saying they were ‘harassing’ U.S. aircraft conducting lawful missions.
“The current 70th UN General Assembly in New York has the possibility to tackle many global issues and may be the world’s last chance at survival, Helga Zepp-LaRouche, founder of Schiller Institute, wrote.
“Where is the institution that can still intervene, virtually at the last minute? Where is the world court before which this great crime can be avenged? Are we, as mankind, collectively able to deflect from a course which is threatening to lead to our own destruction?” she wrote. “If there is any such institution at all, then it is the upcoming General Assembly of the United Nations in New York.”
She added that many global problems could be resolved if the US and the European Union awoke to the necessity of cooperation with BRICS, “to build up the regions of the world that are currently breaking apart under conditions of war, starvation, water shortages, epidemics, and terrorism.”
“Geopolitics and the idea of solving conflicts through wars […] must be replaced with the idea of the common aims of mankind, for whose realization all nations on this planet must participate,” the analyst concluded. “Only in that way will we survive as a species.”

Btw, some hawkish faction has just invented another new “moderate” group– the Syrian Arab Coalition. US says, about this hitherto unheard-of group, “U.S. commanders now feel that supporting this coalition will be crucial to success in northern Syria,”
“U.S. military commanders have proposed a program to provide arms and ammunition to a coalition of up to 5,000 anti-ISIS Syrian rebels now operating in northern Syria.” [Is the US going to escalate equipment?]
“The group, which is loosely referred to as the Syrian Arab Coalition, has had battlefield successes in recent weeks against ISIS at the very time the U.S. has been struggling to figure out what to do with its own program to train other moderate Syrian rebels and to put them on the battlefield.”
Note: this site is definitely anti-Assad so I suspect it is at least partially – funded by the CIA. Or it may be a Murdoch op, as he is a major investor in Genie Energy, as is Cheney.
Genel Energy is also in North Iraq run by a Turk convicted for insider-dealing, whose main players include the Rots and Tony Hayward ex-head of Shell.
Also note that Petraeus is chief ‘analyst’ for KKR, (Kroll Associates, originally owned by two American Jews and now investigating the Moldovan bank heist ). Petraeus obviously operates to influence the political climate to enhance investment return.
The Barzani clan appear to be losing influence as a legitimate political party, instead emerging as a front for the oil cartels.

Right on cue, just as Xi is set to visit the USA, the Americans spews this allegation for the Anglophone presstitutes to dutifully regurgitate. This is a standard American Psywar tactic to disseminate some allegation against a rival nation when its head of state visits. America is so predictable in its propaganda tricks it’s almost funny.
What’s more, the chest-beating declarations made by the Americans are comical in their Orwellianism.
What is never questioned by America or its brain-dead rulers is: What right does America have to be sending its spy planes so close to China’s borders in the first place?
You can be sure that Americans would be throwing a massive hissy fit if the shoe were on the other foot and other nations were similarly flying spy planes close to America’s precious borders.
Deep down, the Anglo Americans believe they have a God-given right to militarily dominate the world, and they will throw a tantrum like entitled brats whenever they are challenged.
And it is America that feels emboldened to aggressively deploy its spy planes close to China’s border—not to mention emboldened to wage thinly disguised wars of aggression, bombing campaigns, or dirty wars against Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, Serbia, Pakistan, Yemen, and Somalia.
The Americans specialize in psychological projection, where they self-righteously accuse rival nations of what they themselves are guilty of to the Nth degree on a planetary scale.
Which is exactly what needs to happen.Chinese and Russian spy planes need to fly right next to the US coast (showing they can reach the US whenever they want to). Then we’ll see what the US reaction would be.You’re correct, the Empire “believes” they have a right to fly and spy anywhere along countries borders throughout the World. And legally, they may be right. But then also that “legal” right is also available to others to fly and spy near “their” borders as well.History shows the US only treats others with respect when, not doing so harms them.So if China and Russia wants to stop that type of provocation, they must clearly show the US, that stopping it, is in the US’s best interests.
I’ve heard that was a fake story on some of the Russian boards. So I don’t know.It would be Karma, your right there. But still I’ll have to wait to see it confirmed.Even many of the comments on the site you posted doubted the truth of it (at least to how serious it is).
If it is true, its too bad. Affects of a stroke, like paralysis and loss of speech, are almost totally reversible now. IF the patient gets a fibrin busting drug called TPN within one hour of the event. TPN helps bust the clot in the brain, and absorbs all the fibrin in your body so you won’t clot again.
Work with it all the time in a major hospital trauma center Lab. Believe me, those stroke patients get priority one attention, before heart attacks, GSW and roadkill.
Churkin: omg.it the fate of the world is indeed in Russian hands as Churkins pointed out. In the dynamics of votes and power within the UN security council it is Russia’s vote that “protects the integrity of the Security Council ” thereby allowing the UN to build consensus on a myriad of issues. It is that consensus which gives the UN what moral authority it still might have.
And he was frank in admitting that the Russian vote on the Libyan intervention was a mistake and he explained the circumstances.
Actually,he said Russia’s vote was “correct”,not a mistake. But that the West misused the resolution. So that is why Russia won’t agree to new resolutions that have the possibility to be misused by the Western powers. While he didn’t “say so”,I think if they could go back to that resolution they would have vetoed it.
There are a lot of people that think Putin’s speech will be an attack on the West’s actions. And that he will stand-up to them on Ukraine and Syria in the speech.I of course would hope so as well. But I don’t “think” he will.I “think”,while there may be some subtle “barb’s” in the speech. He will be very inclusive, with many references to “pardners and colleagues”.That it will be a Rodney King style “can’t we all just get along” speech. Not confrontational in the least.I’m of two minds on that.On the one hand,I’m hoping he’ll “tell it like it is”.But on the other hand,I think he will try to show that Russia is for consensus, and peace. And that she is not the aggressor the West wants to paint her as.I think history shows that that is Putin’s style. That the “shirt-fronting” style doesn’t fit him when dealing with foreign leaders. We’ll see if I’m right on that in two days.I’m actually good with whatever (not that he would lose any sleep if I wasn’t ) way he goes with it.I’m only concerned with the “sub-text” of this UN meeting. And how events play out on Ukraine and Syria in real life. Not the “gilded bird cage” at the UN building in NYC.
Q; There are a lot of people that think Putin’s speech will be an attack on the West’s actions.
R; Putin will not attack anything, during his speech at the UN. He will tell and explain what he’s going to do, what he has done and how his 3-step plan [for the ME] will unfold in the foreseeable future.
He will explain how he’s going to [and already does and did] pacify the ME’s explosive mess.
He will not toot his ow horn and he will not [purposefully] step on sensitive western toes, but he will speak truth to power, for he knows the spirit of truth will be his formidable friend and eternal companion.

UN General Assembly Opens at Time of Turmoil, Hope – Ban Ki-moon
The anniversary General Assembly kicked off at UN headquarters in New York on September 15. During the year, nearly 170 issues will be addressed at the General Assembly.
According to Zepp-LaRouche, more and more people worldwide are profoundly worried over what only a few prominent people are saying publicly.

Russian FM Lavrov Will Address UN General Assembly on September 27
“A large number of heads of state and government will participate in this meeting from September 24 to October 1. Manhattan, during this time, will be the place where the fate of mankind will be debated before the eyes of the entire world and a vision for a better future can be agreed upon—or, to put it another way: The precondition will be set for whether we will have a future at all,” Zepp-LaRouche wrote in her article entitled “Urgent Appeal for Action to the Heads of Government: The UN General Assembly Is the World’s Last Chance!”
According to the analyst, the Un General Assembly is possibly the last opportunity to solve global crises.
