Leith Abou Fadel on twitter confirms that according to the official military source in southeast Homs confirmed that the Syrian Army and allies reached the Iraqi border, “This news is from the soldiers there. So it is true about the SAA reaching the Iraqi border. A source at the border told the Al-Masdar team that there is an agreement between the US and Russians northeast of Tanf. No idea why. Why the US would agree to allow the Syrian Army to take the border northeast of Tanf is beyond me. Those airstrikes seem ridiculous now. The U.S. basically gave up on the rebels today. Not allowing them to advance to Deir Ezzor is a final nail in their coffin. Also, I can confirm this as of now: Syrian Army and their allies have liberated the Talilah Reserve. Now, the Russian MoD map is right.”

Earlier today the Head of the Russian General Staff Main Operations Department Sergey Rudskoy: stated that the civil war in Syria has practically ended.
According to Almasdar News report, “Late on Friday afternoon, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA), Hezbollah and allied Iraqi paramilitary contingents dashed through southeastern Homs and reached an Iraqi border point, thus slicing adrift the frontline between rebel forces based in the Al-Tanf region and ISIS militants in the neighboring Deir Ezzor governorate.
Unopposed by the US Airforce and its vetted Syrian proxies, the SAA and its allies drove through over 40 kilometers of abandoned desert territory and managed to link up with an Iraqi garrison across the border.”
“The advance was confirmed by the Russian Ministry of Defense and an Hezbollah-linked outlet moments ago.”
A few notes regarding today’s news
Russia’s Ministry of Defense statement that the civil war in Syria is over means that going forward any hostilities, including those conducted by the US and it’s proxies, will be viewed as terror attacks.
June 9 is a 50th anniversary of Israel’s occupation of Syrian territory of Golan Heights.
As reported by Xinhua — Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed Tuesday to “forever” maintain control of the Golan Heights, which was captured during the 1967 Arab-Israeli War, or the Six Day War. “I came to tell you that the Golan Heights will always remain under Israeli sovereignty. We will never leave the Golan Heights. It is ours.”
An Israeli principle “what’s mine Is mine and what’s yours Is mine.”
However, since the announcement of the end of the Syrian war was made at this particular day, the MOD might consider the occupation to be temporally.
Meanwhile, Washington is preparing the “legal grounds” to start attacks on Hezbollah, which is a parliamentary party in Lebanon.
Yesterday, the US justice department reported the arrests of two American citizens, Ali Kourani, 32, of the Bronx, New York, and Samer el Debek, 37, of Dearborn, Michigan, aka, “Samer Eldebek,” “arrested on Thursday, June 1, on charges related to their alleged activities on behalf of Hizballah, a designated foreign terrorist organization.”
They are being accused in “allegedly conducted covert surveillance of potential targets, including U.S. military bases and Israeli military personnel here in New York City. ”
Remarkably, the court complaints against them have been unsealed

Russia considers Hezbollah a legitimate sociopolitical organization. The People’s Republic of China remains neutral, and maintains contacts with Hezbollah.
These arrests for “alleged” crimes point to the possibility of an oncoming “regime change” operation in Lebanon, since a newly elected Christian Lebanese President Michel Aoun calls Hezbollah a part of the Lebanese defense forces.
Tonight, I will drink to that news!
Cheers!
I think open a bottle wine right now. Great news indeed.
Anyone who thinks this war is NOT about Israel? Ignorant of the facts and profoundly deceived.

Wonderful news, indeed. I do not personally drink, but I am very happy for this important victory by the Syrian and Iraqi patriotic forces against the Neocons’ brutal terrorists. Hopefully this will pave the way for the full liberation of eastern Syria and the utter defeat of the Neocon plot of a “Salafist principality.”
This news is absolutely sensational. ISIS is history and so is FSA. And that means SAA has won. The rest is details, will they give up now or later.
Good news indeed, but still too early to celebrate for me. The faster the southern border is sealed and US/UK/Norwegian/trespassers booted out, the better: Time to send in the Chechens!
Imagine the look on the jihadis and their western trainers’ faces when 5000 elite Chechen warriors are deployed to Syria to secure the border with Jordan and Iraq…
… and 1967 Golan Heights border with Israel. May even want to help with some farms work while they are there however I suspect Hezbollah will be quite up to the task after all this Syrian front line ‘training’.
The Syrian Army is the most combat experienced in the Middle East. If Syria wants to get the Golan and it oil and gas reserves back it has the military to do it now.
Very true. Hezbollah and the Syrian Arab Army have been ‘distilled’ down to perhaps the best fighting forces in the world. After 6 years of grinding war of attrition, the SAA and Hezbollah can easily take back the Golan. In fact, they would be able to quite convincingly ‘roll up the acres’ all the way to Jerusalem and Tel Aviv.
Israeli ground forces are pathetic. So many reserve and regular soldiers being exchange students from Brooklyn New York, Florida and California.
We saw how in 2006 an Israeli armored division got shredded and routed by Hezbollah ‘regulars’ , been that Hezbollah had placed their most seasoned commandos north of the Litani Line. They didn’t even see any action. Now imagine if they were at the border. They would have easily carried the fight into occupied Palestine itself. The famous Israeli commando unit, the Golani Brigade could not even seize a very small village on the border, let alone lead the way into Lebanon.
Israeli military doctrine had to be completely tossed in the garbage, as it didn’t work, and will not work in future conflict. The entire west is finding out that their militaries, except for air forces cannot fight wars in the Middle East successfully. After 2006, Israel discontinued production of their MBT ‘Merkava’-‘chariot of God’. The west is trying to re-tool and equip their forces to fight on the ground, its useless, as they are quickly bogged down as in Afghanistan, Iraq and Syria. Even the people of the Donbass and their brotherly comrades, the Chechens, proved that a determined people can defeat the forces of terror.
Right now, the Golan is ripe for the taking. In fact, right after Syria is fully liberated, the SAA and Hezbollah should turn up the heat, bait and lure Israel into a cataclysmic , fatal error. The time is now.
Thank you Scott, that is great news.
Excellent News. I shall celebrate tonight
The agreement between the US and Russia was basically…if you the US bomb our SAA guys we will obliterate your poxy proxy forces and shoot down your crappy F16 flying bedsteads.
There is no way the US can fight a war on the Syrian-Iraqi border when everyone hates and distrusts the US. Washington burnt their toast long ago and what we are seeing is the last throw of the dice by the UK-US war mongers as they try to salvage and re-erect more bloodshed to assuage their blood lust.
Anything north of Saudi Arabia including Israel is toast if the Russ so want it. The US may throw more troops and terrorists in to Syria and might even send a Seal team in to assassinate Assad, but the US proved repeatedly in Afghanistan they are next to useless against students, (Taliban in your vernacular), so just imagine how utterly useless they would be against battle hardened SAA backed by Russ artillery and air power!!!
Trump is a bully and like all bullies he is also a coward…he is the personification of US-Israeli character…all front but no backbone, no morals, no common sense. Just as the US is finished so is the greater Israel project.
Anyway, if Israel goes on like this BDS will become worldwide and the Zionist facist ideal, (everything they wrongly accused the Nazis of to use your terminology), will sink without trace in to the desert sands. Read Ozimandes if you want to know about how it works in that part of the world.

“… sink without trace in to the desert sands…” — No, not quite, the Jewish records du jour will record a 1/2 page lamenting for the next 5,000 years that their great G-d delusion has once failed to produce the sustainable goods: no doubt again because of some inherent failing in Jewish (read Zionist) character, actions and ethics etc. Don’t need to be a Cosmic Creator of All and Everything to see that!
Meanwhile Putin will retire within a decade and go down in history as “Putin the Great” — The saviour of Russia 2.0!
Who next is daring to utter the cursed words: “Assad Must Go!” … ?
“assassinate Assad”?! None of them will make it back alive as opposed to Hollywood movies…
Bachar al-Assad en balade à Damas 190 juin https://www.egaliteetreconciliation.fr/Bachar-al-Assad-en-balade-a-Damas-46183.html.
Footage of ‘The butcher of Damascus’ which the Anti-Assad propaganda merchants are unlikely to release. The war of images behind the hands-on killing machine …
Yes, western militaries, including the Israeli military are pathetic and useless.
And they want to be belligerent with Russia, Iran, North Korea!? Maybe even the Chinese!? What a joke. Heres the west militarily….
The latest U.S. incursion and attack on Yemen, U.S. Navy Seals and Emirati special forcers came under attack by village women(defending their homes) and pinned down , losing one Seal and a helicopter destroyed.
In, 2006 we saw Israeli armored columns shredded and routed with the famous Israeli commando unit, the ‘Golani Brigade’ not even able to advance on a tiny border village. The Hezbollah units at the border at the time were ‘regulars’, not their commandos , whom were stationed north of the Litani Line. Now imagine if they were at the border, they would have easily carried the fight into Israel proper if not rolling up the acres all the way to Jersualem. Consequently, Israel discontinues their Main Battle Tank MBT Merkava(Chariot of God)due to their utter embarrassment.
In the past, a North Korean submarine came under mechanical problems and got snared/beached in shallow waters off the coast of South Korea. Three North Korean Naval personnel disembarked and led South Korean and U.S. special forces personnel on a hunt, where the hunted turned into hunters. Effectively, the North Korean sailors held out for 13 days and killed scores of their persuers. All on their own. They never surrendered.
During the U.S. invasion of inter-galactic superpower Granada in the 80’s, the Granada government had no army, just a small police force. They did have a small amount of small arms(Soviet AK’s , RPG’s etc), but they had no one trained to use said weapons. Well, incidently, there was a contingent of Cuban construction workers working on Granadas airport. The Granada authorities handed over the small arms to the Cubans(in Cuba, ever citizen gets military training) and these said Cubans fought off a couple of U.S. Marine companies to a standstill for 3 days, until a deal was struck and they were allowed to return to Cuba as heroes.
After the quick collapse of Iraqi army defensive positions and Baghdad was taken, the U.S. massive military machine quickly started to see a homegrown insurgency take place in Iraq. It started off rather disorganized but quickly gained traction. Soon the U.S. military had 14 of its 16 total combat brigades fighting full force, non-stop. It was untenable. The U.S. was militarily in ver big trouble in Iraq due to the Sunni tribes fighting back, and Moqtadar Sadr’s militias putting a big beating on the goliath U.S. military. The U.S was trapped, so big pallets of freshly printed 100$’s were soon flown in on a regular basis to pay of the tribes and fighters of the resistance. Billions were handed out so the U.S. military could save face. That’s the whole hoop la about the ‘surge’. General Patreaus earned his stars handing out money, not his military prowess, which was dismantled and torn apart.
Don’t need to go too deep into the graveyard of empires known as Afghanistan, where guys with bed sheets and beach sandals , armed with light weapons are engaged in a type of warfare that gives a new meaning to the term ‘hit-and-run’. Consequently, the U.S. has tried repeatedly to buy off the Taliban, but they are not interested in financial gain. The Pashtun people(the largest tribal society in the world,30+ million ppl) have said no, and have had enough of the corruption and hegemony, belligerence and have fought back. Its a lost conflict for the west. The Pashtun have a warrior code that is hard to put back into the bottle once let slip. Even Alexander the Great wanted no part of these people, whom he described as a ‘warrior people’.
I think Putin has called the U.S./UK/Israeli bluff and revealed the façade of power the west has been so careful to nuture, through propaganda and media. Just like when the curtain was pulled in the Wizard of Oz, to reveal a spineless weakling, the same has happened to the U.S./UK/Israel.
There’s a video of Blackwater committing crimes against the population in Iraq. They didn’t look afraid of a reaction.
“I came to tell you that the Golan Heights will always remain under Israeli sovereignty. We will never leave the Golan Heights. It is ours.”
Actually, the historical momentum is now moving back towards 1967.
The Golan Heights will either be returned to Syrian control, or Russian/UN occupied with S-400 ‘peace keeping’ services to buffer any Israeli-Iran exchanges.
I can hardly wait until they go to Golan Heights
This is good news with excellent no nonsense speak from the generals, thank you Russian Federation. The worry is that the ‘western’ backers of forever war in support of zionism’s never ending demands will always come up with yet more chaos somewhere anywhere….goy life on earth being another word for give me more
This was not top priority, but Zion’s silly air strikes in the Syrian desert near al-Tanf forced the Syria alliance to this move.
What’s more: on the Iraqi side of the border, the PMU (Popular Mobilization Units) have arrived even a few days earlier. The Shia Crescent has been finally reconnected, if only by a thin thread for the moment.
Still a long way to go and many battles to fight.
Long live Syria!
Hopefully this will prompt US Administration to see the futility of its meddling in Syria and along with others from the West will promptly pull out of this theater thereby lessening significantly acts of “terrorist” reprisals in the West..
Can anyone kindly explain in detail the present areas still very much under the control of IS/Nusra and their other monikers? And also, their supply lines.
And is there any substance to the US seemingly preparing to fight more overly against Hizbollah? And if so, does this mean fight hizbollah in Syria?
Finally…what of the Kurdish controlled region/s? They are supported by the US, which would mean their are US forces there I assume. What is to happen to that region?
Essentially, what is still left to sort out in Syria?
here is a constantly updated map of the conflict http://syria.liveuamap.com/ you will need to go to “key” top right to understand the colors and symbols …. mod-hs
Is there a way to download some data from that site?
Epic! Marvelous! Assad, Putin, and their allies are giving the scum a hell of a humbling experience. Let the Chechens finish them off once and for all.
BHL ought to give his freedom fighters some philosophical consolation: ‘Lord the Almighty works in strange and wondrous ways’.
Many (most?) of the Christians in Lebanon consider Hezbollah as a defense against Israel. As of course do the large Shia population in Lebanon. It would be “extremely” difficult for the US to pull off trouble in Lebanon. Not that they won’t try, they will. But succeeding is another matter.
I suppose this explains why the SAA (and friends) troops approaching Tanf on the main road were so oddly passive, stopping more or less where told by the US leaflets, absorbing repeated airstrikes without attempting to shoot down anyone, etc., etc. They were the diversion, keeping the US attention while the encirclement force did its job. It has apparently been so long since the US has fought against an actual army that it has completely forgotten battlefield tactics, and I would say their silence and inaction at this point is more out of embarrassment and fatalism than anything. They were literally out-maneuvered. Not to say they are done with mischief, and clearly they will have to double down on the Kurdish front, but it is certainly an interesting development.
… and hence the urgent need for some ‘distraction’ theatre between two of the three archetypal terrorist support systems in ME. A convenient civil war between Wahabi clans? Hmmmm, how convenient in time and place … 1973 just around the corner? … fill up ya gas tanks before the energy shock.
I’ll drink to that news tonight, that the insane plan of a ‘salafist principality’ seems now to be off the hook. By it is by far not finished yet.
The Kurdish claims on some form of statelet will be met with sheer hostility by the Turks (and my guess is that also Iran has some thoughts, they have also a Kurdish faction in their nation). The maybe independent Iraq Kurdistan in the future will give unrest, because a lot of oil is there. And the Golan Heights will never been given up by Israel, at least not without a fight.
Also interested what will end up with the 2 illegal US bases with their self-proclaimed ‘exclusivity zones’. They are not really useful anymore, are they?
A regime change operation in Lebanon would meet a fierce resistance, harsher, if possible, than that found by the so called “US coalition” in Syria, since a people already accustomed to fight foreign states invasions and suffer their outcomes.
This time will be Lebanon as a whole, plus aid coming from Iran, Iraq, Syria, and Palestine with more than probable advice from the anti-imperialist resistance axis who will fight the invaders as if there was no tomorrow.
Defeat is sung before even start moving inside Lebanon.
Watch out the new ISIS arena in Philipines. They have just moved the goal post far enough to disrupt China now. Lets see how that gapes.
Hopefully Russia will send some S300’s and hardware to help DU30.
The Philippine Island are not part of the Silk Road.
Is this true? Who is Karine Gevorgyan?
She says – .
” .Anti-Damascus groups sponsored by Saudi Arabia and Qatar have suspended their actions against the Syrian”
https://sputniknews.com/middleeast/201706101054513883-syria-war-settlement-process/
No coverage of this huge statement in any other Russian/Iranian/Syrian media.
God bless Syria, Russia and Iran. The USA and Israel can go to hell!
I wouldn’t drop my guard for an instant as this ‘Long War’ will merely resume in another locality. If it wasn’t for the Russian intervention the Syrian people and nation might well have succumbed by now and Iran would be experiencing an insurgency on its north west border. As it is the western proxies may end up doing cross border lethal attacks as a general harassment as the western apex elites are poor losers and have an affinity for killing and killing while looking for the pretext for an all out assault….but good news never the less!
No further news on this matter that I can find in any of the alternative sources I usually look at. I don’t find that particularly surprising if the US has suffered or is suffering a major defeat, although I am not convinced that they will admit defeat or do anything other than continue to double down on their mistakes. That path would seem to imply escalation rather than surrender or retreat.
Anyone hear any more news on this?
This is how the US openly supports Al Qaeda – by changing the name of these evil killers:
