Its so tragic and sad that Suslov’s hope is in the American people. He surely hasn’t listened to well known phrases in the US like ,”Remember the golden rule,he who has the gold rules”,and “Money talks, and BS talks”.Those phrases typify thinking in the US among the “people”,at least those with any influence. The neo-cons have the “gold and money”. And those opposing them can only “talk”.What Peter and Dima said also needs to be fully understood, and I think its not .The US doesn’t fear Russia. Certainly they know Russia has the nuclear weapons to destroy the US,but they don’t “believe” they will attack them. Whether that’s true or not no one knows for certain. But that isn’t the point at all. The point, and the only point that matters is,they don’t “believe” they would. So as in the prelude to WW2,this time the US plays the roll of Hitler. And Russia and China play the roll of Chamberlain. We then have the reverse of what the Western media constantly talks about. Its not the West that’s “appeasing” Russia. Its Russia and China appeasing the West.
The West runs “amuck” in the MENA and no one seriously stops them.A stop-gap, temporary, saving of Syria hasn’t done it.And the West knows that. We are the only ones that don’t see that. The US knows that completely.Their stalling of the “peace” talks, arming ever more jihadists, moving more US troops to inside Syria. Those things show that they fully know they haven’t been stopped. The coup in Ukraine, where except for (at least for now) saving Crimea, and tiny areas of Russian speaking Eastern Ukraine.Has been a complete success for the US.If we look at Ukraine (as it should be looked at) we’d say,”but how can that be a US success? They are economically a basket-case”.But that wasn’t the point for the US at all. They now have a break between the EU and Russia.NATO on the rise in Europe to “stop Russian aggression”.The EU “leaders” even more dominated by the US.And Russia hated by their brother Rus in Ukraine, who have bought the Western propaganda.Meaning Russia has a horribly serious security problem on their Western borders. And are “leaking” money to contain it,and stop the Western sanctions from hurting them too much. Its a “death by a thousand cuts” situation. And all of that, hasn’t cost the US more than a few billion dollars. No matter what we hear out of the mouths of US officials they are more than satisfied with today’s Ukrainian situation. While not the 100% success they’d have preferred. An 80% victory there is acceptable to them. And inside Russia they continue to have their 5th column able to influence Russian policies. Many of them in all areas of Russian society. Whereas, except for a tiny number (without one inch of influence in the US power structure and economy) of pro-Russians in the US. There is no comparison between those two groups.
Now some may ask what should be done to turn that around? That’s a very complicated question. So much time has been lost its hard to see what can be done to avoid a real war. Certainly when Hillary Clinton becomes US President. I think (and always have) that we are headed to war.But continuing the Russian rearmament plans are essential to start with. I’d say, clearing out the Russian 5th column is also essential. And regardless of wishful thinking,I see no hard evidence of that at all.But in the broader plans, something must be changed in the US view. They must be made to understand that they aren’t safe to destabilize the World and attack Russian interests. Without fear for themselves.I believe (and always have) that the Ukrainian situation is the most dangerous threat to Russia. And that no matter the cost in Russian-Western relations it should never, ever, have been allowed to stand. And that stopping, and rolling back the chaos of the Western coup is the only true solution to that crisis.I also believe a Russian security document. Putting the West on notice, that color revolutions and Western intervention in the ex-USSR states will from now on,be considered a direct security threat to the RF. And military action is fully on the table to stop them. You can compare this new “Cold War” to a fist-fight. As long as one opponent see’s that the other is afraid of them. They will continue to attack and score punches. Only when they fear the counter-punches of their opponent does the aggression stop. As long as the US doesn’t see any “meaningful” response to their aggression against Russia they will continue with it. It’s in a bullies “DNA” to keep attacking until their victim fights back.History shows that is certainly true of the US. The Korean War,the Vietnam War,the Cuban Revolution. Those are the only real defeats the US has suffered since WW2 (at least). And they all have one thing in common. In the first two, military opponents that fought back. And in the third political opponents that fought back.Without the determination to fight US aggression it can not be stopped. That is just a fact of life we must understand.
Uncle Bob
I agree with all you say.
The Russians should put together a “Monroe Doctirne” type of document/proclamation/line in the sand that says: any political or military meddling in the countries that have borders with the RF will be viewed as a military threat to the security of the RF and the response will be military.
This Crosstalk puts Obama’s charm offensive with the Cubana in the right light. Pacifying the Cuban people with candy so they don’t make waves. I hope and pray that Fidel and Raul and the old guard are able to explalin to the Cuban people why they must not play footsie under the table or over the table iwth the US hegemon. Allow the Americain Trojan horse in to their country. Cuba should maintain strong ties of various kinds to Russia, China and other countries of the “free” (not hegemonized) world. If for no other reason than to keep reminiding the USA that it has optoins and might allow China to deploy a few missiles there . . .
In fact, it would be interesting, and satisfying, to turn that phrase “the free world” on its head.
I see China as the wild card in this. On small physical issues, any infringement on China’s sovereignty has been dealt with harshly. At the moment China is still catching up on tech. Building a tech base. Not many years before they start leading the world in tech.
Russia cannot tackle the empire head on on it’s own. Guerilla warfare. If push comes to shove I think China will be there. They are an independent nation.
“The US doesn’t fear Russia.” Fools go where angels fear to tread seems an oldie but a goody.
Compared to the US empire, Russia is not a power outside it’s borders. Compared to US empire.
Stepping inside Russia borders is a different matter. Full on war, logistics for conventional war ect. So then it comes back to nukes where Russia is a world power.
Outside of Russia and China’s borders, US at the moment may be at the top of the pecking order. Move past those borders and Rocky will be carried home on a stretcher.
Both countries are also bringing in measures to prevent infiltration/subversion.
The US will break itself on Russia and China like waves on a rock.
My concern regarding Russia is Ukraine and the bleeding wound in Donbass. As you said, the US is totally satisfied with the situation, creating in this way a no-one-land between EU and Russia.Notably though,in this no-one-land the US can operate freely, creating some advanced posts – an analogy with the ww1 front lines – with the help of the Ukrainean regime. This environment is becoming very dangerous, remembers me at the front – stage back in summer of 1942.I really don’t know if the strategy of waiting is a good one but as more time is passing with “policy-making”,the more dangerous the situation will be.And that,in all sectors.
Why oh why does RT keep talking about 15 terrorists out of 19, when 6 of the accused hijackers were alive!, And why oh why is Israel never mentioned, when Netanyahu himself gloated over how 9911 helped Israel and Larry Silverstein, lease owner, was best friends with Netanyahu, and that the towers were going to need billions in renovation. Israel’s Odigo reporting that an attack was imminent on the morning. of 911.
And the Israelis arrested dancing for joy while filming it? Alan Sabrosky, a professor at the US Defense University said, “Israel did it”! The evidence is overwhelming.
Sure, Saudi Arabia is nasty, but why does Israel get a pass?
Concerning Lavelle et al. in the show: the elephant in the room is that they accept the official Anglo-Zionist Empire’s fabricated line about the 911 false-flag event as the premise of their “discussion”. While with one side of their collective mouth they condemn various particular actions of the Empire, at the same time they do not want to “offend” it on such a basic issue.
One could fully understand and accept such a care and caution by a Russian government functionary or spokesman, as part of the standard diplomacy practice. Which only confirms the obvious, that “CrossTalk” is speaking on behalf of Russian government, that it is its official outlet, and definitely not an independent media venue.
“But why touch the topic at all? Why put your credibility at risk?”
You are absolutely right. Indeed, why did Lavelle and his guests talk at all about the supposed “Arab terrorists of 911” – when the entire event was a pure sham, a large false-flag operation arranged by the U.S. government? Their entire “discussion” on that particular topic was disingenuous, a false construct, a house of cards, discrediting the program and RT.

Sadly this was not for the first time
