McGreggor, of course, is right that “Debts do matter”. He is talking about the “$32 trillion US government debt”. But the US (actually West’s) debt problem is much-much bigger than that.
– Total US debt is $91 trillion (as of 2022). $31t of that is the US gov, the rest is citizens, corporations, banksters.
– The reason why US could afford to run up such insane mountain of debt is because Greenspans / Bernankes / Powells of the world managed to supress the REAL interest rates to negative levels (e.g. 4% nominal rate with 10% actual – not the BS us gov inflation = REAL interest rate of -6%). Which is why they had to resort to printing money as the number of dummies who are willing to lend the West money at negative rates has dwindled to a handful of imbeciles or corrupt banksters.
So, what happens when the REAL interest rate goes back to the 700-year normal level (which is 4-5%)? Well, the nominal rate will have to be 10% or 20% (depending on whether the inflation is going to be 5% or 15%). NOW, do the math. $90 trillion in Debt multiplied by, say, 10% Nominal rate = $9 trillion in interest payments. Guess what the entire US GDP is? If you believe the BEA BS – it is $25 trillion (including 15-20% of “imputations” — which is basically BS these “economists” make up in their ivory towers). But let’s just go with their number. What do you think is going to happen to the US (and West’s) economies if $9 trillion out of $25 trillion GDP (or 40%) will have to be paid in interest?
The US and Western economies, running total debt levels of 300% to 1,000% of their GDPs are the end of the road. Will they implode in 2023 or in 2030 is anybody’s guess. But implode they WILL. Just a matter of when…

Wall Street analysts are well known crooks on this, as an example, making earnings projections at the beginning of year at X, and then by the end of the year they reduce those projections by 30-50% or more. I read the article, and then I went to the Soros’ full text* as found on his web site*. I don’t see how the article comes to the conclusions that it does from reading what Soros wrote. Looks to me somebody is twisting Soros’ words!
Details aside, Soros does have his own perspective on history, but as I understand it what he is talking about is a new world security arrangement in which the two world superpowers at the time (this was back in the 1990s where the political landscape was much different than that of today,) that is Russia and the U.S., would collaborate; that out of NATO would emerge a new organization he calls “Partnership for Peace” which would fill not only the security vaccum that was existing in eastern Europe at the time, but also develop economic partnerships across all nations including Russia, and the work for the transformation of Nations to what Soros calls “Open Societies.”
Again, details aside, but the “broad brush” picture that Soros describes in his paper seems to be not too far off from what Russia has been suggesting. Obvious to any astute political observer, it is the West that is rejecting the concept, not Russia. The West appears to be simply dead set on its tracks to “take out Russia.” To me, by Soros’ definition, it is the “West” that is the closed society, and much less so any nation in the “East”.

The shock version of the Marker robot will be able to automatically detect and hit Abrams and Leopard 2 tanks, which Western countries are going to supply to Ukraine, said Dmitry Rogozin, former general director of Roskosmos, head of the Tsarskie Wolves special squad of military advisers.
“The combat version of the Marker robot has an electronic catalog in the control system with images of targets both in the visible range and in the infrared. Accordingly, the robot can automatically determine the enemy’s equipment,” he explained to RIA Novosti .
Also, “Marker” will be able to automatically prioritize targets.
Earlier it was reported that at least three “Markers” should arrive in the zone of special military operation in Ukraine in February.
