Current Russian tactics are the absolute opposite of the military theory of concentrated force developed by Napoleon, Pepe Escobar writes.
Footfalls echo in the memory
Down the passage which we did not take
Towards the door we never opened
Into the rose-garden. My words echo
Thus, in your mind.
But to what purpose
Disturbing the dust on a bowl of rose-leaves
I do not know.
T.S. Eliot, Burnt Norton
Spare a thought to the Polish farmer snapping pics of a missile wreckage – later indicated to belong to a Ukrainian S-300. So a Polish farmer, his footfalls echoing in our collective memory, may have saved the world from WWIII – unleashed via a tawdry plot concocted by Anglo-American “intelligence”.
Such tawdriness was compounded by a ridiculous cover-up: the Ukrainians were firing on Russian missiles from a direction that they could not possibly be coming from. That is: Poland. And then the U.S. Secretary of Defense, weapons peddler Lloyd “Raytheon” Austin, sentenced Russia was to blame anyway, because his Kiev vassals were shooting at Russian missiles that should not have been in the air (and they were not).
Call it the Pentagon elevating bald lying into a rather shabby art.
The Anglo-American purpose of this racket was to generate a “world crisis” against Russia. It’s been exposed – this time. That does not mean the usual suspects won’t try it again. Soon.
The main reason is panic. Collective West intel sees how Moscow is finally mobilizing their army – ready to hit the ground next month – while knocking out Ukraine’s electricity infrastructure as a form of Chinese torture.
Those February days of sending only 100,000 troops – and having the DPR and LPR militias plus Wagner commandos and Kadyrov’s Chechens do most of the heavy lifting – are long gone. Overall, Russians and Russophones were facing hordes of Ukrainian military – perhaps as many as 1 million. The “miracle” of it all is that Russians did quite well.
Every military analyst knows the basic rule: an invasion force should number three times the defending force. The Russian Army at the start of the SMO was at a small fraction of that rule. The Russian Armed Forces arguably have a standing army of 1.3 million troops. Surely they could have spared a few tens of thousands more than the initial 100,000. But they did not. It was a political decision.
But now SMO is over: this is CTO (Counter-Terrorist Operation) territory. A sequence of terrorist attacks – targeting the Nord Streams, the Crimea Bridge, the Black Sea Fleet – finally demonstrated the inevitability of going beyond a mere “military operation”.
And that brings us to Electric War.
Paving the way to a DMZ
The Electric War is being handled essentially as a tactic – leading to the eventual imposition of Russia’s terms in a possible armistice (which neither Anglo-American intel and vassal NATO want).
Even if there was an armistice – widely touted for a few weeks now – that would not end the war. Because the deeper, tacit Russian terms – end of NATO expansion and “indivisibility of security” – were fully spelled out to both Washington and Brussels last December, and subsequently dismissed.
As nothing – conceptually – has changed since then, coupled with the Western weaponization of Ukraine reaching a frenzy, the Putin-era Stavka could not but expand the initial SMO mandate, which remains denazification and demilitarization. Yet now the mandate will have to encompass Kiev and Lviv.
And that starts with the current de-electrification campaign – which goes way beyond the east of the Dnieper and along the Black Sea coast towards Odessa.
That brings us to the key issue of reach and depth of Electric War, in terms of setting up what would be a DMZ – complete with no man’s land – west of the Dnieper to protect Russian areas from NATO artillery, HIMARS and missile attacks.
How deep? 100 km? Not enough. Rather 300 km – as Kiev has already requested artillery with that kind of range.
What’s crucial is that way back in July this was already being extensively discussed in Moscow at the highest Stavka levels.
In an extensive July interview, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov let the cat – diplomatically – out of the bag:
“This process continues, consistently and persistently. It will continue as long as the West, in its impotent rage, desperate to aggravate the situation as much as possible, continues to flood Ukraine with more and more long-range weapons. Take the HIMARS. Defense Minister Alexey Reznikov boasts that they have already received 300-kilometre ammunition. This means our geographic objectives will move even further from the current line. We cannot allow the part of Ukraine that Vladimir Zelensky, or whoever replaces him, will control to have weapons that pose a direct threat to our territory or to the republics that have declared their independence and want to determine their own future.”
The implications are clear.
As much as Washington and NATO are even more “desperate to aggravate the situation as much as possible” (and that’s Plan A: there’s no Plan B), geoeconomically the Americans are intensifying the New Great Game: desperation here applies to trying to control energy corridors and setting their price.
Russia remains unfazed – as it continues to invest in Pipelineistan (towards Asia); solidify the multimodal International North South Transportation Corridor (INTSC), with key partners India and Iran; and is setting the price of energy via OPEC+.
A paradise for oligarchic looters
The Straussians/neo-cons and neoliberal-cons permeating the Anglo-American intel/security apparatus – de facto weaponized viruses – won’t relent. They simply cannot afford losing yet another NATO war – and on top of it against “existential threat” Russia.
As the news from the Ukraine battlefields promise to be even grimmer under General Winter, solace at least may be found in the cultural sphere. The Green transition racket, seasoned in a toxic mixed salad with the eugenist Silicon Valley ethos, continues to be a side dish offered with the main course: the Davos “Great Narrative”, former Great Reset, which reared its ugly head, once again, at the G20 in Bali.
That translates as everything going swell as far as the Destruction of Europe project is concerned. De-industrialize and be happy; rainbow-dance to every woke tune on the market; and freeze and burn wood while blessing “renewables” in the altar of European values.
A quick flashback to contextualize where we are is always helpful.
Ukraine was part of Russia for nearly four centuries. The very idea of its independence was invented in Austria during WWI for the purpose of undermining the Russian Army – and that certainly happened. The present “independence” was set up so local Trotskyite oligarchs could loot the nation as a Russia-aligned government was about to move against those oligarchs.
The 2014 Kiev coup was essentially set up by Zbig “Grand Chessboard” Brzezinski to draw Russia into a new partisan war – as in Afghanistan – and was followed by orders to the Gulf oil haciendas to crash the oil price. Moscow had to protect Russophones in Crimea and Donbass – and that led to more Western sanctions. All of it was a setup.
For 8 years, Moscow refused to send its armies even to Donbass east of the Dnieper (historically part of Mother Russia). The reason: not to be bogged down in another partisan war. The rest of Ukraine, meanwhile, was being looted by oligarchs supported by the West, and plunged into a financial black hole.
The collective West deliberately chose not to finance the black hole. Most of the IMF injections were simply stolen by the oligarchs, and the loot transferred out of the country. These oligarchic looters were of course “protected” by the usual suspects.
It’s always crucial to remember that between 1991 and 1999 the equivalent of the present entire household wealth of Russia was stolen and transferred overseas, mostly to London. Now the same usual suspects are trying to ruin Russia with sanctions, as “new Hitler” Putin stopped the looting.
The difference is that the plan of using Ukraine as just a pawn in their game is not working.
On the ground, what has been going on so far are mostly skirmishes, and a few real battles. But with Moscow massing fresh troops for a winter offensive, the Ukrainian Army may end up completely routed.
Russia didn’t look so bad – considering the effectiveness of its mincing machine artillery strikes against Ukrainian fortified positions, and recent planned retreats or positional warfare, keeping casualties down while smashing Ukrainian withering firepower.
The collective West believes it holds the Ukraine proxy war card. Russia bets on reality, where economic cards are food, energy, resources, resource security and a stable economy.
Meanwhile, as if the energy-suicide EU did not have to face a pyramid of ordeals, they can surely expect to have knocking on their door at least 15 million desperate Ukrainians escaping from villages and cities with zero electrical power.
The railway station in – temporarily occupied – Kherson is a graphic example: people show up constantly to warm up and charge their smartphones. The city has no electricity, no heat, and no water.
Current Russian tactics are the absolute opposite of the military theory of concentrated force developed by Napoleon. That’s why Russia is accumulating serious advantages while “disturbing the dust in a bowl of rose-leaves”.
And of course, “we haven’t even started yet.”
Maybe Kiev can borrow a cup of electrons from Electric Yerevan. ?
In the West, when they run out of ammo to conduct an argument, they do the childish name calling and labeling. The favorite time-tested fall back is “racist”.
Now that the West has run out of ammo, expect the slew of name calling to commence. They have probably even hired wordsmiths to generate new ones. Can Russia endure a fusillade bombardment of name calling?
Perhaps the most disturbing thing to the West is that the lack of electricity is the loss of the ability to distribute propaganda. How then can they channel narrative du jour?

A dangerous proposition.

And that might be a better figure.
The figure I posted was from UNHCR, a questionable source, as with any western agency. RT data “came from the Russian border service, was collected starting from February 18, a week before Russia sent troops into Ukraine.”

Russia has accepted millions of refugees from Ukraine and the territories recently incorporated into Russia since February, a senior Emergencies Ministry official has said.
Over 4.79 million people, including more than 712,000 children, have received support from Russia’s Emergencies Ministry, Deputy Minister Anatoly Suprunovsky reported during a government meeting on migration-related human rights issues last week.

Russia DID take care of «its Slavic brother’s» from Ukraine, ever since the 2014 coup: indeed much in excess of a million Ukrainians from the Donbass thus moved to Russia and were greeted by the Russians.
That came after Russia had provided them with humanitarian aid for a long period before that… But of course, in the West, the pathetic media then chose not to cover that aspect of reality in both Ukraine and Russia (among so many others of the kind) for seven long years!
Look also into the issue of Russian passports having been offered and delivered to Ukrainians.
In my opinion most will try to make it to the West. Moving East carries the risk of a bullet in the back.
Milions will be able to hold out in the country side with family, but they will need aid in form of food supplies.
Those without family in rural areas, domesticated as city dwellers, will probably see no other option than fleeing to a town towards the west.
The question is how the West will deal with this. Say how to handle a conservative number of 8 million ?
Looking at the list Lone Wolf put up below, and assuming the same aprox rate of division :
– Poland 45 % = + 3,6 million => 5.0 mill
– Germany 30 % = + 2,4 million => 3.4 mill
– Czech 15 % = + 1,2 million => 1.7 mill
In total just for Germany, it would in total lead to a situation 3 times bigger than the crisis in 2015.
Not to mention Poland, which with it’s total of over 5 million refugees and a 10%+ increase in population.
This at a time with Ukraine fatigue, heating rooms and soup kitchens for the domestic population.
I think the EU will try to prevent an exodus. I believe the incident in Poland is partly about this. It allows for a change in the media spinn around Zelensky, lowering the saint status. Maybe a story about extremist in the Ukraine army, requiering border filtration of who is let in. War is on pause for the winter. Ukraine fading from the news cycle. A few feel good chrismas gift offers to the suffering people of Ukraine. We need to help them where they are, we can not let Putin case them out of their land. They’ll come up with something.
Question is will it work on the barbarians at the gate ? I have my doubts.

Which capitalist system would that be, not the Leninist (your word) one in America & Europe?

There’s another way to erase former ukraine, and that is depopulation.
It is estimated that 10mil already fled, out of prox. 45mil. We got about 10mil Russians there (they may leave now, but they will return, once the land is liberated), so it remains to expel about 25mil more nazis, give or take.
By devastating the infrastructure, and making life a living hell, with constant fear, they ALL go within next 2 years, to unite with their gay european brothers. Remember, civilians are the logistics of any war.
What will be left is remnants of NATO machinery to dispose of.
If it were up to me, a day wouldn’t go by without 100+ missiles across nazi habitats.
Half the working age population had already departed Ukraine for employment elsewhere BEFORE the Ukie War even began. Current population size in Ukraine is probably around 20 millions at this point; with a huge percentage of them being pensioners.
Yes, I believe the Ukraine was already hemorrhaging population, especially young working-age people, to Europe in the two decades since 1991.
Ukraine already had a reputation as a corrupt shit hole where no one could get ahead. Which is crazy, becuase the country had everything it needed to have a decent economy and decent quality of life.
And the primary reason for this is that the country was bled dry by oligarchs of many colors.
This is actually an acoustic war it sounds like,
Russia:
Boo boo boo
Arrogant West:
We won’t accept such outrageous connivance and we must steal all your resources and sever your heartstrings….
Russia:
But, boo boo boo
West:
We refuse to hear of such nonsense…
Russia:
Okay, but if you Insist , then boo boo boo to you, buh.
I will skip the translation, but this is what it sounds like.
I would like to hear the Russian version of this, which sounds to me like boo boo boo, but the West won’t have none of it at all.
Electric?
I think nUkraine got unplugged…
AP specifically quoted “a senior U.S. intelligence officer” when they reported that it was a Russian missile.
So this is not just the media getting ahead of itself…
A plot hatched between the US media, military & intelligence..?
Even the reporter who broke the news is a former marine (and who knows what else…).
Supposedly, Polish airspace is on full alert with the war going on next door, so why didn’t they shoot down any incoming missiles? Or are the Poles in on it as well?
Yes. The Poles were part of false flag, Scott Ritter stated that ballistic missile needed a target marker to bounce off of that would have to have been from or in Poland, he stated.
He is in a position to know.
I say Yes based upon initial Polish response that was walked backwards acrosss the borderline later partway…
The Poles use NATO air defense. The same sort of systems that never noticed the Yemeni drones going into Saudi Arabia or the missiles from Iran to that US base.
I don’t know if the system design is bad or if they haven’t replaced the batteries since 1980.

AP / Reuters just make shit up. Their an intelligence asset.
The first report was by a polish radio station (possibly one with american funding).
The first responder was a Firebrigade, before the Army shortly after sealed the place off.
The incident happened within a grain storage facility, so I don’t know where this ‘potato farmer’ comes from.
Likely source of the video/photo fotage is from the firemen. Locals doing drone shots.
Nice article Pepe.
I was doubtful of Putin’s strategy from the start, exactly because he was not following the “napoleonic” playbook.
It looks like some elements in the West think they can deal Putin a knockout somehow if he escalates in Ukraine in the traditional manner. They want Russian tanks to roll westward en masse for some reason, perhaps the west holds some type of wildcard.
In any case Putin is playing the game rather well, instead of this being the Russian Vietnam, it’s turned into the West’s Vietnam with no foreseeable end in sigh all while large swaths of the Russian army gain combat experience.
I am not sure if people understand the role of oligarchs correctly. I often have the impression that people think that the timing is as follows: first, oligarchs arise in countries like Ukraine and then those oligarchs start their cooperation with foreign powers. In my opinion it is the foreign powers who create these oligarchs in the first place. Look at the nationalities/religious affiliations of the oligarchs who emerged in the 90s in the eastern european countries and you will realize that the count is heavily skewed towards one group which also plays a major role in the Empire of Evil of the West. The Empire of Evil opens their market and provides its know how to a bunch of people of whom they know that they have no profound loyalty to their “home country”. In this way these people become immensely rich and become thus ever more important players in the politics of “their home country”. Their role is to play the role of those people who opened the gates of besieged cities to the besieging troops of the enemy. They allow the West to infiltrate all institutions of the country and they secure the position of the West by leading these countries into alliances and common market (common debt) structures like the EU. Morevoer, just as it has happened to all western european countries after WWII, the deep state operators start to promote traitor types into all institutions of the bureaucrazy, academia, media, educational system, and the crucial nodes of the economic system (banks, insurance companies, energy companies, etc etc). Once that is achieved it becomes essentially impossible to regain your sovereignty again without a civil war. That is why it is possible to lead Western Europe into suicide. All crucial positions have now been occupied for years with people who have been filtered through the promotion scheme controlled by the rulers of the Empire of Evil.
Spot on Ferdl… IMO bravo you nailed the playbook comprehensively!!!
Cheers
Col
Patience is needed in everything, so in war. Could you comment on the similarity in RU lines of defence and the Brotherhood/Soyuz gas pipeline in the Kharkiv region, and the ammonia Odessa pipeline in the Kherson area? Further, why on earth would Russia let go of the ZPP powerplant on the left bank, thus giving a bridgehead to the opposition?

No need to bother Pepe with such trifle.
Just follow the money.
How many Russian oligarchs settled in Londongrad or Eurostan after they looted Russia off her wealth and resources? How many of them got their capital in offshore havens?
That’s your best URL.

This link doesn’t detail events of your time frame but shows the beginning of suspicions of the disappearing money into the black hole that is Ukraine. Begging for public inquiries to begin anytime.
Trying to uncover fraud or showing concern for missing taxpayer money isn’t ‘breaking the law.’ No one would print that article today because of its veracity in real time and the people involved.
It’s doubtful there’d be any links to the data you want. But there are many articles on the missing money even in past Slavic news, tracing this money to offshore accounts. The Panama and Paradise papers were in the news at the same time with money going to the same place. Find them.
Take note of point number one superimposed over point 3 in the article. Trump and his inner circle were already aware of suspicious activity of this sort and were seeking to get to the bottom. But were met with a lot of opposition emanating from anti-Trump circles of that time. Pure subterfuge.
And one of the biggest “grifters” of this group just tried to start WWlll the other day…. maybe they’re trying to hide something? Find out what it is.
https://www.cnbc.com/2020/01/16/trump-administration-broke-law-in-withholding-ukraine-aid.html
Trump was not seeking to get to the bottom of Ukraine corruption, a field of grift involving republicans and other greedheads. He was looking for Ammo on Biden, which was there to be found but not as part of some noble reform effort by Trump. The republicans continue to support the NATO war on Russia and show no apolitical interest in a just negotiation.
Be cautious about a ‘new’ Russian Operational change.
In order to achieve its stated goals, Ukraine + NATO inside the boundaries of Ukraine must be de-militarized. That is far larger than a CTO. The counter-terrorism operations will come later and will last for decades.
As for security for Russia, which the West, especially, the US, will never concede, Russia can only assure its own security by diminishing all threats. First and foremost, NATO has to be broken. Again, not the work of a CTO.
What is most likely, an enlargement of the SMO which is an Attrition Operation. So I call it a SMAO. Initially, it focused on Ukrainian military. Now, it attrits whatever NATO sends into the war. Soon, it will attrit what NATO uses beyond the boundaries of Ukraine in support of war against Russia.
This was will go to the edges of a third world war. Russia has the means, the technologies and platforms to fight the war. NATO does not have those equivalents.
The question is not about tactical nukes. The question is does the US want a large part of the defeat that is coming to the West?
The US needs anything less than Russian victory. Russia can only continue until it exists as victorious.
one wonders if there is a timetable or deadline for this….. ie USA announced “progress” for its own hypersonics
First U.S. Hypersonic Deployment on Track for 2023
ARMS CONTROL TODAY
November 2022
By Shannon Bugos
After a recent flurry of prototype testing, the U.S. Defense Department is on schedule with plans to deploy its first new hypersonic weapon by the summer of 2023 and to develop other offensive hypersonic and anti-hypersonic weapons defense capabilities.
An artist’s graphic from Lockheed Martin shows a launch of the U.S. OpFires hypersonic missile from a 10×10 wheeled truck. (Graphic by Lockheed Martin)This artist’s graphic from Lockheed Martin shows a launch of the U.S. OpFires hypersonic missile from a 10×10 wheeled truck. (Graphic by Lockheed Martin)Lt. Gen. Robert Rasch, the Army’s director of hypersonic weapons systems acquisition, said in an early October interview with Defense News that the service will proceed with its schedule to field the Long-Range Hypersonic Weapon (LRHW), a ground-launched, boost-glide missile system, by the end of fiscal year 2023. The Army completed delivery of LRHW ground equipment, including the battery operations center, transporter erector launchers, and trucks and trailers, to Joint Base Lewis-McChord in Washington state in September 2021. (See ACT, November 2021.)
Rasch noted that the Pentagon will test the LRHW missile twice more before initial deployment, with the first of those tests meant to launch the fully assembled missile from its ground-support equipment. The most recent test of the system’s glide body, which is shared with the Navy’s hypersonic weapons system program, ended in failure in June, although Rasch claimed that the booster stack performed successfully. (See ACT, September 2022.)
The LRHW weapons system is one of 24 systems that the Army plans to deploy in fiscal year 2023 and one of 35 systems that the service aims to deploy by 2030 in order to become what it considers a fully modernized force.
Meanwhile, the Air Force awarded a $985 million contract to Raytheon Technologies, including its program partner Northrop Grumman, on Sept. 22 to kick-start the development of the Hypersonic Attack Cruise Missile as an operational, rather than prototype, capability. Raytheon will deliver two of the missile batteries and prepare the missiles for their planned deployment on F-15 fighter jets in fiscal year 2027. (See ACT, June 2022.) The Pentagon began the program in fiscal year 2022. (See ACT, July/August 2021.)
Had they read first Russian Military expert Andrei Martyanov’s article Jully 1, ’22 below they may not have bothered to print that one.
It’s becoming more and more obvious western media prints whatever they want. Not beholden to truth of any sort (e.g. Polish missile hoax). Except when some chance photos from a Polish civilian suddenly “turned the world on its ear.”
It’s pointless trying to discuss interception of Russia’s highly advanced air defense systems when their missile speeds are over Mach 10, with some approaching Mach 27. Or faster. That’s 20,000 mph. Flying at altitudes probably above 50,000 feet.
Intercept it from where? With what? By whom?
/andrei-martyanov-july-aviation-and-hypersonics/
I can recall the source, but remeber it was estimated at the start of the SMO that it would take the US around 1 to 1.5 years to catch up and develop their first Hypersonic missile.
In my opinion the US is preparing for its eventual formal retreat from Europe.
It does so by eliminating the EU as a competitor or even worse, potential Russian ally.
As long as the citizens of the EU tolerate their fantastically morally bankrupt elites, the results will be disastrous for the “garden”.
What concerns me in the near future is the disparity in ethicality. The US elites are willing to employ any underhanded and despicable method to achieve their goals, while the Resistance mostly sticks to the law.
There will certainly be more provocations, false-flags and what horrors those perverse minds can breed.
I hope it doesn’t come to that.
Makes the most sense Ie. Preferably a destroyed Europe than one that will join the enemy.
Why the EU is are going along with it is mystery….No-one can be that corrupt or that brainwashed…
Ideology destroys their humanity. They see nothing of value in the civilization of Europe. Any degenerate loses sense of all other values except immediate pleasure.
In the leaders’ case, their pleasure is also about power. But all they can use their power for is chaos and destruction.
These are no longer normal humans. It explains everything.
EU is a construction of Empire, for Empire, by Empire.
That EU does not act in the nations of Europes best intrest, is logical.
The Anglo plan is to burn Borells garden down to the ground one more time.

Obrigado, Pepe, as always.
Paraphrasing the question “If a tree falls in a forest, and there’s no one around to hear it, does it make a sound?,” we could ask, if a missile falls in the middle of nowhere in Poland, and there is nobody to see it, does it start WWIII?
Anglo-American “intel” is now a contradiction in terms, their work in Ukraine shoddy at best, their “footfalls” evident everywhere, Nord Stream, Crimean bridge, Sevastopol, Zaporozhye, etc. Classical intel used to work as an stiletto, Anglo-American “intel” works with a sledgehammer. They will be better off setting up a PR company, as their operations are designed for the MSM to beam out “intel info” at their own risk. Just ask James LaPorta, who was fired by AP after losing his cover by claiming the missiles were Russian, information provided by “a senior U.S. intelligence official,” read CIA special operations branch.

Even if there was an armistice – widely touted for a few weeks now – that would not end the war.
————————————-
An armistice, on Russian terms, is what Russia conceives as a merciful way to end a war that, thanks to Country 404 governing puppets, has turned into endless suffering for the Ukrainian population, and a holocaust for its army, getting decimated by the tens of thousands.
That will not be, at least for now.
As Col. Douglas McGregor accurately predicts in his latest video,
Ukraine is about to be annihilated
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dfgF4x7TCmM
As long as Country 404 governing puppets and their puppet masters are getting rich and richer (war is business, business is war), they will continue to pump weapons of lesser and lesser quality and barely trained men into the fray. It is a win-win situation, everybody wins but the Ukrainian people, the sacrificial lamb used as cannon fodder, cold, hungry, sick, internally/externally displaced, jobless, always on the verge of dying.

Developed by Napoleon…and followed up by Clausewitz, his nemesis during the War of 1812, where he served as an officer in the Russian Imperial Army, and whose 2. General Principles For Offense, establish that 1. We must select for our attack one point of the enemy’s position (i.e., one section of his troops—a division, a corps) and attack it with great superiority…”(Principles of War, Carl von Clausewitz.)
Battlefield Ukraine has been a test for the Russian Way of War, an experimental field for the lessons learned from Chechnya to Syria, in preparation for the Big One, which could come sooner or later, lest it is trumped by sheer serendipity by a Poland peasant being in the “wrong place” at the “wrong time.” As for the evolution from SMO to CTO, or whatever other names are being proposed out there (OUN and what not), I believe the names are irrelevant, unless posters and commentators have direct access to the Russian High Command, which even A. Martyanov humbly acknowledges not a possibility.
As long as the RF Army Forces continue to call it SMO, we will call it SMO. Full stop.
This war is an ongoing lesson, the Russian Army is not handing out pamphlets announcing names changes to anyone, with the exception of CTO, which was mentioned a few months ago following up Ukraine’s terrorist attacks mentioned by Pepe above. Whether the upcoming surge will grant a name change, we will learn in due time.
Col. McGregor’s forecast is based on the same reading Pepe is making of Russia’s strategy. If from Feb. to now, 9 months almost to the day, with a few more than a hundred thousand men, Russia broke the back of the NATO-trained Ukrainian army, to the point that now entire mercenary battalions are propping it up, what can we expect of it in the next few months, after Russia’s first mobilization joins the front in full, with Ukraine unable to move reserves or reinforcements by train or truck, supply lines and communications broken, the country facing a humanitarian crisis of gigantic proportions?
As for General Armageddon, he’s going electric.
And he “hasn’t even started yet.”

Don’t know what the Kremlin is actually thinking but to an outsider a DMZ along a natural border, the Dneiper, may be a good proposition. It is doable if — and it is a big ‘If’ — both RF and the US agree to the scheme.
Current Russian tactics are the absolute opposite of the military theory of concentrated force developed by Napoleon.
Sorry Pepe but I have to disagree on this one.
Napoleon was thinking of War; RF is not fighting a war in the Ukraine. It’s fighting a sort of police operation in the Ukraine. Sure, RF is applying military violence against Kiev regime (+ Nato) forces in the Ukraine but a ‘special military operation’ (ie not War) somewhat limits the aims of the operation, and the application of violence.
Concentrated force or ‘mass’ is relative: the mass of your forces relative to the enemy’s at a certain point on the battlefield, at a certain time. We’ve seen this ‘mass’ thing played out in the Ukraine by the Russians time and again; and recently the shoe has been in the other foot in the north where RF had to withdraw because, among other factors, it lacked the numbers to defeat UkroNato.
The recent mobilisation is of course to increase mass (in manpower) and the ‘electric war’ is part of an effort to decrease mass — that of the enemy — on the battleground. Before this the Ukraine’s so-called ‘Kherson Offensive’ petered out before it even got underway simply because RF made sure UkroNato couldn’t concentrate their forces to really attack the region. So it’s pretty clear RF tactical/operational planners do apply the notion of concentration of force or mass in their calculus.
At any rate on another aspect I find RF’s attitude towards the enemy quite similar to Napoleon’s, who once said, “The ‘spirit of war’ is to come to an agreement. In other words, it does not involve a blind unleashing of violence, a fight to the death.”
Russia had been trying to ‘come to an agreement’ with the Ukraine for months. Alas the cocaine-addled clown running Kiev does not, or rather cannot, reciprocate. And so Ukrainians continue to be sent into battle against the Russians and end up like ‘dust in the wind.’
Plan A
The Powers That Be (TPTB) crush Russia economically, politically and install Navalny as acting President while they find 4 exiled Russian patsies who’ve undergone the CIA selection process and will serve as the new Tahuantinsuyo regional heads in new Statelets called Euro-Asia (Russian language banned).
Repatriate the Gold, loot the Treasury. lots of Khodorkovsky type Joint-Venture Deals for Energy & Mining Assets
In comes Standard Oil Rocky XV11 (Exxon, Chevron, Halliburton, BP, other cockroaches).
Reverse NS1-2 pipeline damage, full throttle gas to Europe and Asia (for 3 times the price).
Point newly acquired hypersonic missiles at Iran & China.
“We haven’t even started yet” yet?…. And it’s already feeling “dispiriting” then I think we don’t want it to start at all.
I would argue that what Pepe calls “ the green transition racket”, while deeply problematic in it’s battery tech approach to the problems of fossil fuel ecocide, should not be made into a self righteous device to dismiss the widespread devastation that has created the global environmental movement and its call to truly transition away from consumerism and fossil fuels. These scientific and humane concerns go way deeper, way further back, and way wider than the fascist fantasies generated by the WEF. This respect for the wisdom of billions of years of evolution , whether one sees it has having divine origin or not , can be found in a thousand sources from indigenous peoples, naturalists, mystics, the science of ecology, whole systems economists, I just wrote and lost a long post to address this and managed with my iPad clumsiness to make it disappear.
But there is a transition needed to earth friendly culture, to respect our dependence on a complex living ecosystem, to live in harmony with and learn from the deep wisdom of the living planet. Human fossil fuel technologies really do pose the deepest threat to life on earth other than nuclear war. What good will it be to achieve multi polar equity if it is simply a shared misery on an overheated planet of dead oceans, endless storms, drying rivers, and toxic air?

…While ruled by nazis and climate-change deniers, whose pillaging and exploitation of earth resources have taken the planet to the brink of extinction?
The root of the destruction of the planet is humanity’s alienation from themselves, their separation from creation, however origin attributed, spiritual or physical. The earth is a living being, ignorant human beings perceive it as “theirs” and use it to enrich themselves, oblivious to the damage done. And that goes to the car industry in Detroit, miners and loggers in Brazil, oil and gas pipe builders in Siberia, river dam engineers in China, pig and chicken farms along the Chesapeake Bay, slash and burn agricultural practices across the world, fishing industry on the seven seas.
Greed and possessiveness, says Sun Tzu, are the root of all evil, war and otherwise.
That greed and possessiveness is exerted upon the planet by the Collective West in multiple conceptual forms, New World Order, Rules-based Order (their rules), Full Spectrum Dominance, and an alphabet soup of entities and organizations, social, economic, and political, all designed to perpetuate their domination and exploitation of earth resources.
The challenge to their Unipolar dominance, launched by Russia, with the vision of a Multi Polar World, might release forces of change across the planet, now suppressed under the tyranny of the CW. The continuation and expansion of the CW domination upon the planet means more of the same, they will double up on their extractive, pillaging industries, desperate as they will be (and they are now, look at the US openly and shamelessly stealing oil and wheat from Syria) to take as much as they can from the planet before their final collapse.
You posed an excellent question, the planet is now in the same position of the famous Chinese Buddhist painting of a man hanging on a cliff from a tree slowly getting uprooted by his weight, while tigers roam above and below the cliff, waiting for him to climb up or fall down.
It’s a damned if you do, damned if you don’t.
The dream of a Multi Polar World, whose bloody birth-pangs we are witnessing in Ukraine, may or may not give the planet a chance, it all depends on those who will be at the helm while the new creation unfolds. The only other option is to continue living under those who have taken the planet to a disaster zone, and then we fall under Einstein’s “…definition of insanity…” which “…is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.”
Thank you for a thought-provoking post.

Listen … it’s a fraud. Designed for profit, not solution … as a matter of fact it makes things worse.
The only viable way to ‘transition’ along the lines proposed is via nuclear power, yet that’s a no no.
