What Paul Barril stated is basically well known (but not all the details). Those Russians who died in England were sacrificed in order to discredit President Putin. If true, then somebody had an interest in preventing this.

They yearn for those years, when they got quickly rich. And of course they oppose Putin. The West is counting on them as a potential political Trojan Horse. It wont work. Why doesn’t Russia ever call a spade a spade when talking about US/NATO? Why did it not convene any Security Council and UN General Assembly Meetings to condemn US illegal armed interventions and occupations of other countries? Of course, the West would have vetoed Russian resolutions but at least word and some news would have gone out, especially with UN General Assembly deliberations. When this ridiculous poisoning affair was started by UK why did Russia not go on the offensive? The alleged victim (Yulia)is a Russian citizen, consular access to whom has been denied by the British. Why does Russia not make it clear that Consular would be denied to UK citizens as well if they are arrested in Russia?
It is time Russia became a little proactive. Not much mileage in being reactive, especially if responses are weak and wishy-washy. We are not living in times of polite diplomacy, we are in an age of war in which loud and clear language, imagery, perceptions, and emotions all have to be used like weapons. I am embarrassed to admit that I didn’t realize that Ecuador had a new president.

That is, the citizenry as well as the defense and services/food etc. infrastructure is being mobilized.

So, from Georgia, Ukraine (and MH17), the London murders, the Olympics, sanctions, Browder’s activities, Syria, etc one can see the scale and breadth of provocations deployed against the Russian state. I believe absolutely that the desired reaction is for Russia to make a move that can be deemed aggressive enough to justify an overt military response that still falls short of all out war (and thus triggers a nuclear exchange) but sufficient to blockade Russia from the West – that is if the ongoing destabilization efforts fail to bring about regime change. A Russian friend just showed me information that a NYT correspondent in Moscow tried to spread information that 300 had died in the mall fire and authorities were hiding this ‘fact’.
I see the Russian reactions designed specifically to be measured, protecting their national interests, but without crossing a line that would escalate out of control. I’m sure they worried about Crimea in that regard. The strategy seems to me to be to build up the national economic health and develop a parallel financial system with China while ensuring adequate defense against overt attack, and Putin’s speech seems to indicate that he believes these goals have been met sufficiently to announce to the world that Russia will not surrender, can defend herself, and is ready to move forward with any and all who are willing.
Those who wish for a ‘stronger’ or more muscular response from Russia to these provocations are impatient and unwise. No one should wish to provoke a MAD reaction.
Germany is supporting Nordstream 2 and I believe there are many in Europe who do not agree with the belligerent stance of the US and UK – but no one has a fix for the Western financial mess – an acceptable fix… I think there is one available, as real goods and real productivity cannot be destroyed by numbers on a balance sheet, so the debt pyramid can be wiped away – but many very ‘wealthy’ and powerful people would become just citizens of ordinary means and this is the root of the problem. Power would shift and disperse, for a time at least. Putin took a wrecked economy and stabilized it. This could be accomplished elsewhere, especially if there was cooperation in good faith. People are actually capable of this.
I agree with all of this, but would add that the Western “financial mess” is actually quite profitable for the ruling élite. It’s not that they don’t have a fix, it’s that they want to preserve the status quo ante, no matter how much the middle and working classes suffer.
With the broad financialization of the economy (e.g., earlier on this page, mentioned the staggering “value” of derivatives being juggled in the City of London), the 0.1% don’t really need the middle or working classes any more.

If what this guy is saying is true, then it means that Russia lost control of plutonium 22. By extension T May could then be right about Russia losing control Novichok. Russia needs to do something about this and keep these dangerous substances under better control.

Watch any TF1 or France Television or BFM evening news programm and they no longer invite experts whenever there is a terract (or plane crash).
These two guys no longer appear on TV and have been sort of demonized appraently for being alt-right or pro police syndicate, pro FN or pro Russia. It’s more sublte (or less gross) than US/UK tabloid et media but basically they’ve been delegitimized by the media (hence why it is very important to listen tio what they say)
