When Green fanatic Robert Habeck, posing as Germany’s Economy Minister, said earlier this week “we should expect the worst” in terms of energy security, he conveniently forgot to spell out how the whole farce is a Made in Germany cum Made in Brussels crisis.
Flickers of intelligence at least still glow in rare Western latitudes, as indispensable strategic analyst William Engdahl, author of A Century of Oil, released a sharp, concise summary revealing the skeletons in the glamour closet.
Everyone with a brain following the ghastly Eurocrat machinations in Brussels was aware of the main plot – yet hardly anyone among average EU citizens. Habeck, Chancellor “Liver Sausage” Scholz, the European Commission (EC) Green Energy VP Timmermans, EC dominatrix Ursula von der Leyen, they are all involved.
In a nutshell: as Engdahl describes it, this is about “the EU plan to de-industrialize one of the most energy-efficient industrial concentrations on the planet.”
That’s a practical translation of the UN Green Agenda 2030 – which happens to be metastasized into crypto Bond villain Klaus Schwab’s Great Reset – now renamed “Great Narrative”.
The whole scam started way back in the early 2000s: I remember it vividly, as Brussels used to be my European base in the early “war on terror” years.
At the time, the talk of the town was the “European energy policy”. The dirty secret of such policy is that the EC, “ advised” by JP MorganChase as well as the usual mega speculative hedge funds, went all out into what Engdahl describes as “a complete deregulation of the European market for natural gas.”
That was sold to the Lugenpresse (“lying media”) as “liberalization”. In practice, that’s savage, unregulated casino capitalism, with the “free” market fixing prices while dumping long-term contracts – such as the ones struck with Gazprom.
How to decarbonize and destabilize
The process was turbo-charged in 2016, when the last gasp of the Obama administration encouraged massive export of LNG out of the US’s huge shale gas production.
For that one needs to build LNG terminals. Each terminal takes as much as 5 years to build. Within the EU, Poland and Holland went for it from the start.
As much as Wall Street in the past invented a “ paper oil” speculative market, this time they went for a speculative “paper gas” market.
Engdahl details how “the EU Commission and their Green Deal agenda to ‘decarbonize’ the economy by 2050, eliminating oil, gas and coal fuels, provided the ideal trap that has led to the explosive spike in EU gas prices since 2021.”
The creation of this “single” market control implied forcing illegal rule changes on Gazprom. In practice, Big Finance and Big Energy – which totally control anything that passes for “EU policy” in Brussels – invented a new pricing system parallel to the long-term, stable prices of Russian pipeline gas.
By 2019, an avalanche of Eurocrat energy “ directives” by the EC – the only thing these people do – had established a totally deregulated gas market trading, setting the prices for natural gas in the EU even as Gazprom remained the largest supplier.
As lots of virtual trading hubs in gas futures contracts started popping up across the EU, enter the Dutch TTF (Title Transfer Facility). By 2020 the TTF was established as the real EU gas benchmark.
As Engdahl points out, “TTF is a virtual platform of trades in futures gas contracts between banks and other financial investors. Outside, of course, of any regulated exchange.
So LNG prices soon started to be set by futures trades in the TTF hub, which crucially happens to be owned by the Dutch government – “the same government destroying its farms for a fraudulent nitrogen pollution claim.”
By any means necessary Big Finance had to get rid of Gazprom as a reliable source to allow powerful financial interests behind the Green Deal racket to dominate the LNG market.
Engdahl evokes a case very few know about across Europe: “On May 12, 2022 although Gazprom deliveries to the Soyuz gas pipeline through Ukraine were uninterrupted for almost three months of conflict, despite Russia’s military operations in Ukraine, the NATO-controlled Zelensky regime in Kiev closed a major Russian pipeline through Lugansk, that was bringing Russian gas both to his Ukraine as well as EU states, declaring it would remain closed until Kiev gets full control of its pipeline system that runs through the two Donbass republics. That section of the Ukraine Soyuz line cut one-third of gas via Soyuz to the EU. It certainly did not help the EU economy at a time Kiev was begging for more weapons from those same NATO countries. Soyuz opened in 1980 under the Soviet Union bringing gas from the Orenburg gas field.”
Hybrid War, the energy chapter
On the interminable soap opera involving the Nord Stream 1 turbine, the crucial fact is that Canada deliberately refused to deliver the repaired turbine to Gazprom – its owner – but instead sent it to Siemens Germany, where it is now. Siemens Germany is essentially under American control. Both the German and Canadian governments refuse to grant a legally binding sanction exemption for the transfer to Russia.
That was the straw that broke the (Gazprom) camel’s back. Gazprom and the Kremlin concluded that if sabotage was the name of the game, they couldn’t care less whether Germany received zero gas via Nord Stream 1 (with brand new Nord Stream 2, ready to go, blocked by strictly political reasons).
Kremlin spokesman Dmity Peskov took pains to stress
“problems in [gas] deliveries arose due to sanctions that have been imposed on our country and a number of companies by Western countries (…) There are no other reasons behind supply issues.”
Peskov had to remind anyone with a brain that it’s not Gazprom’s fault if “the Europeans (…) make a decision to refuse to service their equipment” which they are contractually obligated to do. The fact is the whole Nord Stream 1 operation hinges on “one piece of equipment that needs serious maintenance.”
Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak, who knows one or two things about the energy business, cleared up the technicalities:
“The entire problem lies precisely on [the EU’s] side, because all the conditions of the repair contract have been completely violated, along with the terms of shipping of the equipment.”
All that is inscribed into what Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov describes as “a total war declared against us”, which is “being waged in hybrid forms, in all areas”, with “the degree of animosity of our opponents – of our enemies” being “enormous, extraordinary.”
So none of this has anything to do with “Putin weaponizing energy”. It was Berlin and Brussels – mere messengers of Big Finance – which weaponized the supply of European energy on behalf of a financial racket, and against the interests of European industry and consumers.
Beware of the toxic trio
Engdahl has summarized how, “by systematically sanctioning or closing gas deliveries from long-term, low cost pipelines to the EU, gas speculators via the Dutch TTP have been able to use every hiccup or energy shock in the world, whether a record drought in China or the conflict in Ukraine, to export restrictions in the USA, to bid the EU wholesale gas prices through all bounds.”
Translation: casino capitalism at its finest.
And it gets worse, when it comes to electricity. There is a so-called EU Electricity Market Reform in progress. According to it, producers of electricity – from solar or wind – automatically receive “the same price for their ‘renewable’ electricity they sell to the power companies for the grid as the highest cost, i.e. natural gas.” No wonder the cost of electricity in Germany for 2022 increased by 860% – and rising.
Baerbock incessantly parrots that German energy independence cannot be secured until the country is “liberated from fossil fuels.”
According to Green fanaticism, to build the Green Agenda it’s imperative to completely eliminate gas, oil and nuclear power, which happen to be the only reliable energy sources as it stands.
And it’s here that we see the toxic trio Habeck/Baerbock/von der Leyen ready for their close up. They pose as saviors of Europe preaching that the only way out is to invest fortunes in – unreliable – wind and solar power: the “answer” from Providence to a gas price debacle manufactured by none other than Big Finance, Green fanaticism and Eurocrat “leadership”.
Now tell that to struggling pan-European households whose bills will surge to a whopping, collective $2 trillion as General Winter knocks on the door.
Casino capitalism? So this is just about money? I’m probably not understanding this correctly, or missing something. Wasn’t it obvious this deregulation of the EU natural gas market would lead to vast increase in energy costs, poverty, deaths, de-industrialization – another words chaos. Or was that the end game?
Control was the end game, anything goes are the rules.
What do you think trading in Carbon Credits is ?
What do you think banks trading futures in soya, pork bellies, grain, wheat, etc is ?
They have financialised everything and the politicians helped them – and the stupid voters went along

Gonzalo Lira’s Roundtable #20 was deleted from Youtube just now. It was about vaxx serious side effects, like deaths up 200%. Anybody have a link to a copy?
They literally had to not openly name Doctor Peter McCullough. They just called him “Dr. Peter” because the State Censor (pretending to be a private company) considers him SO dangerous to “the narrative” that he must be eradicated. So he was present for less than one hour and then Roundtable #20 continued with Gonzalo and Berletic in a wide ranging discussion of all things Ukraine. Behind the scenes the censors were pulling out their hair and getting frantic because a little truth had leaked through. They pulled the show in mid-stream. Tragic.
Unfortunately I wasn’t recording it. As usual Dr. Peter gave the named studies and institutions to go to for all the supporting evidence and was careful to explain his own fields of expertise before making his comments.
So that is what happened. I started watching Rountable #20 but was called away. When I got back, I couldn’t find it.
Search “Roundtable #20” on odysee.
thanks Pepe for picking up on the Engdhal article.
Dito . I would recommend investig US RAND Report, abstract in english https://en.weltexpress.info/2022/09/08/documentation-a-rand-report-dated-01-25-2022/
Matthew Ehret recently wrote about the same topic, his focus on history in connection with WEF Agenda 2030.
There are currently only 3 politician in Germany talking tacheles, one is Ex-Finance Minister Oskar Lafontaine, very strait to the point.

“Rare glimmers of intelligence still glow in the Western latitudes”.
Engdahl and Pepe, that makes two rare gleams in those darkening Longitudes.
“Now tell that to struggling pan-European households whose bills will surge to a whopping, collective $2 trillion as General Winter knocks on the door.”
It looks more like a government subsidy to Big Energy somewhat similar to the Big Pharma scam. The consumer will be hit hard, but capped at just below social revolution outrage levels, while the money printing machine goes into hyper drive — but straight into the energy companies’ bank accounts, and therefore, dividends, and therefore senior management share-buyback pockets, and thereby, most likely, into various political fund/donation snout buckets.
It is the same criminal racket system that feeds military, medical, and money (banks) industrial systems.
Who picks up the tab?
Nobody, … or everybody, … it’s just inflated away (or so the theory goes).
I read this article on the Telegram channel: Eurasia@Multipolarity. It confrms what Pepo Escobar is writing but does deeper in the cause. As explained in this partly copy.
🇺🇸 ⚡️ | The economic crisis in Germany is the result of a deliberate provocation by the United States. The Americans brought down the German economy to remove a competitor (https://weltexpress.info/die-wirtschaftskrise-in-deutschland-ist-das-ergebnis-einer-bewussten-provokation-durch-dieusa-die-amerikaner-liessen-die-deutsche-wirtschaft-zusammenbrechen-um-einenkonkurrenten-zu-vernichten/). In any case, the material deserves attention.
The sanctions imposed against Russia by the EU countries, after the start of a special military operation, began to have a negative impact on the European economy. The sanctions boomerang came as a surprise to the German federal government, most politicians and ordinary voters.
However, as it turned out recently, these consequences of anti-Russian sanctions were unexpected only for the Germans. The United States has calculated all the scenarios in advance, and also deliberately embarked on the path of weakening the German economy.
I find it very, very hard to believe the German (and EU in general) elite didn’t expect this. I don’t think they are this dumb. I more inclined to say this is on purpose, and all of what is happening is planned for someone’s gain, either financially or politically. The problem, however, is that it is painful to realize the elite being this evil…
Energy Markets are run under cartel economics
Energy or gas price caps are like rent control and lead to quantity shortages
Economic illiterates enter politics
Those who sacrifice the German people cannot be confused with the real German people. Not everyone will suffer equally in the cold winter. Prices will turn the case into a question of money and like half a century ago in an equally confusing case a famous Mexican street philosopher would point out “there is the detail”; and then being like this it would not be a question of Russian cold, it would be a question of lack of money.
Exactly same scenario has been described in Ayn Rand’s novel “Atlas Shrugged”. She made mistakes in identifying friends and foes but the social dynamic described in Pepe’s article is eerily similar to the one Ayn Rand describes. To those who have time on their hands, I highly recommend that they download this book and read.
Be sure to look up William Edward Hickman.
He’s the serial killer from the early Twenties that Rand fell in love with and modeled her “heros”, like John Galt on.

Ayn Rand the jew had many a boy friends… including Alan Greenspan, the guy who was nothing more than con and started to financialize everything. ofc with Clinton looking
Yes, we read W. Engdahl, and admire his special interests in Gas/Oil/Mining. He’s top notch in that field.
But, we are sticking with Economist Dr. Michael Hudson and Professor Veghi over this issue.
Dr. Hudson has noted how Germany is the main industrial powerhouse in the EU. All other European nations are directly tied to both Germany’s industrial base, and its vast trading system with Russia, China, and many others.
The US Hegemony (including its partners in the UK/EU) is out to destroy all of that. As its own Financial House is in trouble, it’s chief aim is to find a new source of ” financial colonialism.” There is no better environment than Europe to do that.
The US/EU/UK multi-billionaires will make vast profits off of those citizens by privatizing ALL health care, real estate, insurance with the total destruction of small businesses and the huge reduction of labor costs: jobs. Essentially, it’s what has been done in the US for the last 40 years.
And just like in the US with our multiple millions of heavily indebted citizens, so, too, UK/EU citizenry will become Debt Slaves. “You will own NOTHING and be happy.”
With germany the US is currently targeting the strongest chain in the EU to wreck the whole chain in one go.
Im german, it is not easy to understand for me how current events can save the US as empire of lies.
Kati,
I am half German, and German citizen.
I cannot understand how German politicians can be on board with this destruction.
Because the German politicians are since Merkel’s installation in 2005 mainly marxists/communists/maoists in general, corrupt mostly and for a good part outright enemies of Germany.
The Green Khmer sect ist all of it above. They declared it plenty of time officially, made it their agenda and even announced the destruction of everything German multiple times in the last four decades and as well officially as their party program.
They are the worst Maoist/Khmer mass murder since the 70th.
And now you know why they are on board of this destruction.
What’s clear to me is the Technocrats WEF base their entire Agenda 2030 not on Totalitarian control of money, but of an individual’s rationing of energy. Therefore, all energy (oil, gas, electricity) must be 100% under their control in order to control every citizen’s Carbon Quota, which is based on how much “energy” a citizen will be allowed to use each day. Complete totalitarian control of citizens, not based on money, but based on energy. This explains why they are 100% dismantling oil & gas from Russia despite the colonial infliction of pain on their citizens.
Yes. Energy and food are the keys to world control.

I certainly do not agree with this: ‘Made in Germany cum Made in Brussels crisis.’ & this: ‘“the EU plan’ – say what? How could you leave out Made in washington??? Who do you think gave the order to stop NS2??? At least you got this right: ‘Germany is essentially under American control’ – which contradicts your 2 points above.
Indeed, since 1945.
Baerbock took CIA studies on her US sabbatical.
Don’t be mean and vote for Green.
thnx Peper,this deserves widespread publication.
I’m old enough to remember the Enronization of Energy in the late 1990s that gamed the system in California, Texas and elsewhere that caused great havoc and deaths, yet as with the 2008 Banksters few prison sentences for anyone aside from one sacrificial lamb. What’s being done to Europe is the same “Game.” Note how the system was set up so it could be manipulated in the current manner–legally–PLUNDER as Bastiat called it in 1850, and myself more recently.
This differs little from the French Queen saying Let them eat cake that brought out the ire and started the Revolution. That’s the same response that’s required today.

May I contribute a little fact that has been little noticed as regards German gas storage.
We are led to believe that it is at or approaching 80 percent full.
In actuality, only 1/5th of the total capacity is 80 percent full
So, in other words, it is only at 15 percent of capacity.
I know — you’re shocked, right?
Blessings
L
And I read that even if full, the German gas storage was never meant to supply fuel for a whole winter. It was only meant to ensure a steady supply if a fairly brief shutdown for maintenance was needed.
Yes, this explains the HOW. But the more important question is WHY?
WHY is Germany and the rest of Europe, including the UK, being de-industrialized by the Americans?
Here is my answer. The USA has runned out of third world and developing nations to rape and pillage. The USA is after all the greatest genocidal Empire in the world and in the world’s history. Bar none.
In order to sustain its parasitic existence, which it learned from somebody, the USA must rape and pillage the only block of nations left to be raped and pillaged. All the other nations in South America, Africa, the Middle East, and Asia have been pretty much looted by the Americans. What’s left? Russian? China? Iran? Too big and too powerful to digest.
All those other nations are now looking to the BRI and BRICS to hitch their financial and economic wagons to.
Therefore, the only nations left for the Americans to rape and pillage are in Europe, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, South Korea . . . did I miss anyone?
Hence, the WHY.
Europe and the UK must be cut off from the cheap energy from Russia first and then de-industrialized second, then the Americans can do to them what they have done in their glorious parasitic existence. Remember Victoria “Fu*k the EU” Nuland?
All the conspiracy talk about Green Energy and the Great Reset are just fodder for the simple minded folks. The real reason behind these conspiracies is for the USA to sustain its global Empire and the USD/UST.
Don’t forget every Eurotrash country, possibly bar Norway, is insolvent.
I wonder how soon we’ll see their GMO produce (unmarked) on the shelves.
Ukraine was littered with them, Romania, Bulgaria, Baltics also, hence the MADNESS.
My take is that de-fossil-fuelization is a noble goal, necessary for an ecologically sustainable future. One aspect of that project is agriculture. In many ways, reliance on chemical inputs, mostly derived from fossil fuels, has degraded soil in almost all agricultural areas. Agriculture must be restored as sustainable, organic, and free of most chemical inputs.
In order to achieve these agricultural goals, however, enormous inputs of resources, time, research, and energy must be applied. A great video, Biggest Little Farm, https://www.imdb.com/title/tt8969332/, shows the process that took about eight years and many thousands of dollars to restore a degraded farm to ecological health.
Likewise, our urban and suburban dwellings, our industries, all need a major retrofit. Again, this requires vast resources, time, research, and energy to accomplish.
The upshot is that cutting off energy cold turkey will cause massive suffering and actually delay the efforts I outlined above. Europe needs cheap natural gas to create a world where it needs very little natural gas. Of course, to accomplish the climate goals that have been set will require an “all hands on deck” effort that will expend every resource available to accomplish, and in no way can accommodate fantasies like the war in the Ukraine.
Tedder, all agriculture is chemical. All the world is chemical, by the way. Air has an formula and you inhale 68% nitrogen each day but you speak about oxigen. Dirt has a chemical formula, even negative or positive ph. Plants are chemicaly, synthesizing CO2 to O2. We are chemical as humans. So, explain me, what biologiacal agriculture means, because is just a waste for the majority of people or a kind of fashion for those with a lot of money. Greatings.
Chemicals, yes, but there is a difference between the complex chemicals that plants and animals (including us) evolved to work with and the simple, brute force, reductionist, stimulant (in quantity and in isolation from cofactors) chemicals so widely used now. Look at what has happened to the glorious topsoil our ancestors discovered in North America, just in a very short time. We have been using it up, and not returning enough of what it needs.
Look at what has happened to the nutrient quality decline in the food we grow over the last 50 years. The deep perfect topsoil of Iowa was built by huge herds of buffalo etc. eating and excreting, feeding the soil microbiome which further developed it.
Life isn’t all that simple as just a few artificially produced chemicals out of the natural cornucopia.
Effective agricultural production is not possible without artificial fertilizers. When we do not use artificial fertilizers, it becomes extensive and we need a much larger area to produce the necessary amount of food. As I produce food for my family on 800 square meters of surface, I use about 50 kg of compound fertilizer and 15 kg of nitrogen fertilizer. If I wanted to base this cultivation only on compost, I would have to use 1600 kg of compost, ie a mixture of grass and papilionaceous plants collected from 10,000 square meters. So ecological food production without the use of artificial fertilizers requires an area of 2,200 square meters for one person. By using artificial fertilizers, you can feed about 15 people from such an acreage in rather small amounts. Sustainable agriculture mentioned above is quite a different matter. Normal agriculture applying fertilizers only skilfully, and a pesticide only when pests and diseases exceed the threshold of harmfulness. I believe that only a person who has tried to produce at least some food for himself with his own hands for a few years should speak about such topics. The practice is very different from ecological theories.
Well said. And the addition of N fertilizer is only to compliment nature’s process of returning it to the soil during thunderstorms.
We are slaves to the chemical processes that make us who we are, by the foods we eat.
Janek,
I respect your arguments as they seem sensible and I assume you are speaking the truth regarding your experience growing food. I’d just like to make two observations. The first is that, IMO, to have a solid argument for the smaller acreage when using artificial fertilizers, you have to include the acreage needed to produce the fertilizers as you did for the compost. Otherwise, it is not a fair comparison. Please note that I’m not saying the conclusion would change if you include this additional acreage, only that the comparison you made is not entirely fair.
But it goes a little further yet, since, as you said yourself, there is this thing of sustainability. Is the additional acreage sustainable? Or does it grows with time (by exploring non-renewable resources)? As I understand, the 10000 sq meters for the compost can be used repeatedly for as long as you want, so you’ll “always” have compost available. Is it the same with artificial fertilizers? This is out of my area of expertise, and I don’t know the answers. However, I do know some resources are indeed finite (not sure about the fertilizers you mentioned).
We could also mention that presumably the compost is (or at least could be) made locally, and the people using it would have in their best interest not to degrade the land or the people nearby when making the compost. On the other hand, when someone just buys something made somewhere far away, it is very hard to remember to think about this degradation.
The above comments was not to say I don’t see your points, only that there are issues that go beyond numbers.
One last thing, paraphrasing you, as pesticide are dangerous, I’d say that only a person who delivers pesticide with his own hands for quite a few years should speak about it.
My best regards to you and thanks for posting your comment.

I agree with everything you write. The method of using my own compost makes me self-sufficient. Unfortunately, it is a bit selfish. Me and my family are subservient, but this means reducing food production for others who do not have the same opportunities as me. However, the surplus for sale in this manner of management is much smaller. I am not theorizing, but have been playing perennial plants for over 40 years :). Pesticides are a separate problem. We are not talking about herbicides, because manual or mechanical (admittedly very labor-intensive) mulching aided weeding takes place here. Sometimes couch grass appears and its elimination by mechanical means is extremely difficult, sometimes impossible. Actually, he only uses herbicides here, but I’ve only done it three times in 40 years. Nowadays, harmful insects are not a problem in small areas. we have pheromone traps and it works. Worse with fungal diseases, especially when we grow plants from a different climate zone. But who in a moderate zone would not like to have tomatoes, cucumbers or potatoes in the garden. Unfortunately, these plants are extremely sensitive to alternaria, potato blight or downy mildew. Ecological methods only work to a certain extent. You must always have a fungicide in reserve, because if you do not use it in time, you will not have a single tomato bush in three days. As for the cultivation of cereals, it is possible to avoid chemicals here by using old, poorly branching varieties, where there is air movement in the field, there is no moisture and no conditions conducive to the development of fungal diseases. But in this case, we achieve a yield not 10 t / ha, but 1.5 t / ha. 80 years ago, my grandfather cultivated 15 hectares of land without fertilizers, only with horse tools. Natural fertilizer, i.e. manure obtained from the breeding of several cows. The average wheat yield is then about 1-1.5 t / ha, which is 10 times lower than at present. You write about the closed circulation of compost on a local scale. This means using, for example, sludge from sewage treatment plants. In our area, she urges farmers to take it away, but the quality of the plants obtained by such fertilization is not very good. In my opinion, it is impossible to produce as much food organically as we do today. Switching to organic methods would increase food prices. And now the most important thing – the biggest losses would be incurred not by farmers but ….. intermediaries. If a farmer bought for his products at the same price as in shops, agricultural production, almost ecological, would be profitable. Q {I will give an example of onions in the purchase PLN 0.4 per kilogram, in the store over PLN 4 per kilogram. The intermediaries, i.e. corporate chain stores, and not farmers benefit from the chemical treatment of agriculture.
Janek,
Time is short, english is not my native language, and I’m afraid we are already veering off-topic, and so I’ll make this short.
As I said, all your arguments are sensible, and I wish we could continue our conversation in a pleasant place underneath the trees in a well-cared orchard contemplating the very same things we are discussing.. :-D
Too bad many people don’t care about what they eat, nor where the food come from, nor the work to produce it. Many soon have their health failing on them for this very reason. If people cared about these things, maybe we would have less idiotic acts like the original article above describes, and people would get along much better. Instead, we are faced with a empire in its death throes attempting to take down as many countries as possible with it.
May the Lord continue to bestow water and sunlight upon us, and may He allow the scales to drop from the eyes of those blind who can’t see the truth.
I took some soil courses, one of them was a ‘soil ecology’ course. It was the most interesting of the lot. The prof was a Canadian prairie boy from a farming background. It was his view that a new equilibrium was reached under a fertilization and cropping regime. Organic matter declines from the original ‘native’ grassland soil, quite a lot. N declines, P and K also. Until it stabilizes as time goes on. At this point without fertilizer input large declines in output are inevitable.
Later I bumped into the concept that we eat fossil fuels. Since the fertilizers come from large scale potash mining (fossil fuel based) and most of the rest from natgas. And the tractors and so forth.
We are now in a bad place. It is my view that part of the machinations behind the scenes are due to the recognition by our ‘elites’ that the fabled ‘peak oil’ is now upon us. So we have choices. Maintain agriculture production but is at the expense of large swathes of the ‘consumer economy’. What to do?
I think the ‘bosses’ as represented by Schwab et al have decided (a long time ago) that there are too many people. And the house of cards economic system will crash as fossil fuels enter decline. It is a thermodynamic reality…. the ‘economy’ and ‘money’ are just lagging indicators of this. So they decide a long time ago to provoke crisis on their own terms, benefit, and kill off all the useless eaters. An ‘unmanaged’ decline where the population reaches equilibrium with fundamental resources might after all leave them no longer on top, perhaps dead,
Russia (and Canada, to some extent the US) can on their own do quite well for quite a while yet. If they start hogging their remaining reserves. The EU, India and China, well not so rosy. A crash is inevitable in one form or another, it cannot be escaped. The essence of the ‘limits to growth’ was correct, regardless who financed it. It is reality. Lucky Russians, lots of land, lots of oil, low population density. Canadians too, if we are not sold down the river. Perhaps a few other areas of the planet, but not many.
Good luck to all. I maintain superb yields of potatoes, carrots, beans, peas, onions by using all of the ‘grass clippings’ from roughly 2 acres to fertilize 1. With small amounts of fuel and small equipment. Good for now but that is no model for current agriculture systems.
Replying to myself here. I would add to my original post that I am fascinated by google earth. As a forester of long direct field experience, and a self trained ‘naturalist’ of the old school, I find perusing the globe by means of google earth to be absolutely fascinating.
Examining Russia there is a ‘belt’ of land, south of ‘Siberia’ and east of the Urals. You go over this at a moderate scale and you see untold acres with few people. Yet the climate and soils could support x10. Small villages, so far from Moscow a european could hardly grasp the scale. The potential of Russia is not to be denied.’
Looking globally, for areas capable of agriculture but not utilized… surprise! Some in Africa. I went south america, I find Chile is chopped up into farms to the limit of the mountains and climate, nothing there. Some in Argentia but the Pampas is not any sort of ideal climate. We are bumping up against real limits. Just how it is.
Some how I don’t want to blame Washington. It’s not American problem if European leaders and sad to say surpringly many local European folks (actually still great majority) are so damned stupid commiting suicide. After all this pain they all (?) are facing, remarkable many Europeans are still blaming Vladimir Putin instead of their own foolish leaders. Most of folks at least here in Finland have no idea that their own leaders are ruining life of citizens. This is what true propaganda can achieve. Get a gun, shoot your own leg bloody mess and then blaming Russia. Truly i’m now living in mental asylum run by patients called Finland.
I love Finland and the Finns. I just hope they can back-pedal out of their NATO obligations. What a disaster!
Once again Germany is destroying Europe by following a political sect.
In history classes future generations will learn: The united Germany has been busy destroying Europe in three big wars. In the first war (1914-1918) it lost it’s colonial empire, in the second war (1939-1945) it lost it’s unity in the third war (2014-2022) it lost it’s economy.
If a nation votes for politicians living in a dream world the result is disastrous.Who is to blame? Media, teachers and – mostly female – voters electing this green sect to soften their conscience.
A big part of the blame belongs to the big churches that have replaced the gospel by green agenda coated with religious wording. In the Third Reich they had the “Deutsche Christen” mixing Nazi ideology with pieces of christianity. Today we have the “Grüne Christen” mixing green ideology with pieces of christian theology.
“The united Germany has been busy destroying Europe in three big wars. ”
…and the Anglos have been busy destroying Germany for a century. In fact, now is the third time in hundred years that the Anglos destroy Germany. This last time with the complicity of the German ruling class.
All in order to break an eventual partnership between Germany and Russia.
Mackinder wrote about this extensively.
Why are you blaming the teachers? IMO, if people strongly don’t agree with how teachers are teaching, they should go be a teacher and change the world, and not only complain.
And why stop at teachers? If people disagree with how USer militants are killing Asians, they should go be a soldier and bomb the world.

Yes, unfortunately I must agree. No question!!!! And it bothers me to no end and why is because if any bothered to read what the bible actually says they’d learn that our strange weather has more to do with Divine Communication in relation to the pollution of sin. There is a huge, absolutely huge and significant body of knowledge and evidence on the subject. And that God would lay it upon me to write the only book on the subject is a telling statement about Him choosing the weak, the despised, and foolish to confound the wise and learned lol? 1 Cor. 1:26
To think at the tender age of 19 years old i knew the truth and here 40 odd years later I’m still looking and trying to convince is grrrr!
Something has gone wrong, terribly, terribly wrong with Christendom.

Once you allow US political cockroaches and financial termites into your home you may as well have signed your own death warrant.
The EU political class, like Zelensky, have sold out their own citizens for personal riches.
It’s a coin toss for me as to whom I have more contempt for, the Satanic Forces or The Great Unwashed.
They deserve each other.
I’m going to go ahead without proof and guess that behind every EU gas/energy market “reform”, sits an experienced Ukrainian oligarch who knows exactly how to profit from “shock therapy”. I fear the whole EU is going to end up like a post-soviet state.
This is all terribly perplexing? I work for a natural gas company that builds compressors and late last year at one of our town hall meetings our executive in charge an Italian made it quite clear on video from northern Italy that the governments of the world are looking to invest some 700 billion dollars in Hydrogen. That kind of money I suppose may very well need Casino Capitalism, How else are they going to finance hydrogen? Even Prince Charles is quite enthused by the idea of it:

Wonderful. This reminds me of the rolling blackouts Enron engineered in California or the price gouging in Texas.
Watching now. Thanks!
When the Great Reset emerged from the maws of the WEF many thought, “right yes, all good and well, but how are they going to implement it”. Now we discover how. The Ukraine War is like a gift from the gods.
The EU will implement the Grest Reset and blame Putin for the inevitable privation. Klaus couldn’t have planned it better.
Recently, Belgium’s De Croo said there’s going to be ten years of difficult times in the EU followed by a wonderful non fossil fuel future. A twenty year leap forward he said. And he could be right. Just as soon as the EU is able to change the Laws of Physics we’ll get all this wonderful green energy for the European Nirvana. Blow wind blow is what I say.
Yes. Followed by a wonderful non-fossil-fuel future: for the survivors.
You’ll own nothing and be happy:)
The elite view from above downwards and the plebs view upwards are totally different things. And these different views explain everything. Action only happens when there is nothing left to lose. And Europeans have a lot to lose. That’s the tragic. And that’s a known tragic used very well by the powers that be. It’s unthinkable.
The West believes Global Economic Disaster will weaken Russia, China, Iran, etc….and somehow the West will prevail. Currently, I believe the line is still 50-50 the US state department will push the button when it fails. Otherwise, the West elites will merely jet off to their bunkers in NZ leaving their citizens broken in their wake.
The TTF energy price pegging from gas to everything else, took years to put in place, Just In Time :-)
It is Enron, the Ranch at the Crooked E from Houston in 2001, on snow covered slopes.
Efforts to break this peg have been muttered, some do realize. Mentioning long-term contracts as Orban and the RF does, is a direct assault on TTF.
The RF is letting this finance play out – it will go the way of Enron, the Ranch at the Crooked EU. The so-called relief billions of Euros are already an Enron Bailout. Then Arthur Anderson Accounting made everything look positive on the bottom line, likely today its staff now at Price Waterhouse Coopers, PWC Accounting et. el.
So far accountants keep up appearances.
There is still a disconnect between the people (lower and middle class) and their financial and political overlords in the West. This is because people still have it relatively good. Any kind of unrest or realization will only occur when the people really start to suffer.
Europeans are not suffering enough.
