Lira makes so much sense it’s almost scary. I sill wonder how he can make such analyses from the middle of Kharkiv, still in Ukrainian hands, after having already been imprisoned once.
I am starting to wonder if Zelensky isn’t a double-agent. He comes from a Russian-speaking, supposedly pro-Russian family and was elected supposedly to improve relationships with Russia. But everything he has done since has been to provoke and goad the Russians into this conflict that Ukraine had no chance of winning and that may very well destroy the American-British empire andwestern economies once and for all.
He is committed to Ukraine because he has a Ukrainian family. And the best thing he can do for his adopted country is to expose the truth as much as he can.
The “Western outlets” are told what is acceptable and what is not. They print what they are “allowed” to print, and those organisations that really DO “own the press” get to decide.
An excellent example is the complete (total) absence of ANY coverage of the 8 years of atrocities committed by the “official” Ukraine government against those in the Donbass. Not just via the (completely sycophantic) Aussie media, but by the majority of “western” media, including the “big names” that “used” to associated with a decent level of reportage.
Turn the tables, and the deluge of crocodile tears re “those poor Ukrainians” makes our recent (and I note on-going) Queensland floods seem no more than a drop in the proverbial bucket.
The big problem is, the majority (and in my local sampling, I’d suggest better than 95%) STILL believe the “Russia Bad” memes, and a very sizeable chunk of these believers are also very certain that “Ukraine will win”, although how, and with what, tends to be answered with the very usual dogmatic “well, everyone knows!” which covers everything here these days.
Even 20 years ago people were at least prepared to listen. Now? No-one is remotely interested in anything that might challenge the “group think”. Why bother to think when you can trot out “everyone knows that” and walk away in with the smug satisfaction of destroying any argument counter to your (entirely mass-media generated) worldview.
Americans don’t hate Ukrainians. Neither common people nor american politicians. They just don’t give a shit. Most of them don’t even know where to find Ukrain on the map.
We shouldn’t forget that Zelenskiy’s family is in the hand of the Brits. Those are the people who poisoned Litvinenko, Kim Jong-Nam, Skripal’s cat, Skripal himself, a couple of russian oligarchs and a few of their own citizens. Zelenskiy knows that very well.
The people in charge of the US and the collective West don’t hate just Ukrainians, they hate all humanity, even themselves. The next war in the West will be internal (again) once this quick distraction is over in a couple weeks or months.
I think the Powers That Be have an agenda, and do not care what damage they have to to, to whomever, in order to achieve that agenda.
They have utter contempt for anyone who gets in their way, and innocents are seldom given a fleeting thought.
@Serafin
I do not know if he knows it…but surely if US does not have anymore need of his clownish services, he can be left on his own…and he should constantly watch his back.
This is going Off-Topic quickly. Please take any future posts along this line of comments over the The Moveable Feast. Thank you. Mod
It is supposed to be that England is a subset of the UnIted Kingdom AKA “Britain”.
I’m white christian English “middle aged” male. This country seemed to have nothing to offer me, nor does it seem to want anything I have to offer. Everything I read in my media is questionable.
I come to international sites and find that far from being a respected player on the world stage my country is a hollowed out shell with it’s tatttered reputation and overblown military being used as a catspaw for, well anyone who offers us a line of credit.
@kevin king
As an Englishman, maybe you can help me to define something.
When I think about the most of the conflicts in the World, I see English originated hereiditiary oligarchy as main driving force. As those people separate from the rest of human kind by considering themselves as demigods (or view others as subhumans), I can not hold English or British “commoners” responsible for the actions of Perfidious Albion.
During centuries they evolved in Intercontinental mafia-like organization and can not be tied to just one country nor nationality. I refer to them as “Anglos” but it can be insulting to Englishmen who are nothing but another kind of slaves, just closest to the source.
Can you suggest better term? I am sure that there are many in English slang.
In photos I have seen of Mr. Shoigu, he looks like someone NOT to be trifled with. Let’s hope
the moron Austin, whose only qualification for his job is his skin color, can face reality.
A government that cared for its people would have sued for peace in early March, not just weeks ago as Gonzalo says – but he is right the Zelensky leadership is evil.
A government that cared for its people would have avoided the war! How? It wouldn’t have provoque Russia, wouldn’t have threatened to invade Crimea, would go to Munich’s Conference announce the purchase of nuclear weapons, would comply with the Minsk PEACE agreements, wouldn’t have shelled Donbass CITIES thousands of times per day BEFORE Russia’s operation, and definitely wouldn’t support NeoNazis (Azov, Aidar, C-14, Right Sector, Svoboda, Galizian SBU units, etc).
A government that cared for its people wouldn’t have been born from a bloody coup with Far-Right paramilitary financed by a foreign power (USA). It wouldn’t ilegalize opposition parties, re-install the same oligarchic corruption as before while people have to sell their kids (or rent their bellies) just to avoid starvation. It wouldn’t vote in United Nations in favor of the glorification of Nazism, it wouldn’t make a “hero” out of a collaborator (Stepan Bandera) in Hitler’s holocaust. And it definitely wouldn’t forbid people from using their Russian language in official documents, censorship their Russian TV channels, and forbid them of celebrating the Victory Day against Nazi Germany in 1945.
A government that cared for its people would have arrested those NeoNazis that burned people alive in Odessa, would arrest those that tie people to lamp post and paint theirs faces with green toxic paint and shower them with a bucket of cold water during frozen weather. A government that cared for its people wouldn’t make war against one of its oblasts/provinces for 8 years killing +13 thousand people, and definitely wouldn’t prepare (as its been proven) a final military operation against those people in Donetsk and Lugansk.
Ukraine’s government, leaded by a corrupt clown (suddenly with an offshore account with 850 million $…), doesn’t care about its people. It made everything to let this invasion happen, it refused peace talks under very acceptable terms (neutrality, denazification, only losing the territories whose people actually want to be independent), and wouldn’t just try to “win” the propaganda war with its 150 international agencies very well paid to spread fakenews in the biggest lie machine the world has ever seen (even greater than the Goebbel’s one).
I’m from Portugal, I’m against the existence of NATO (my country is there since the beginning (1949) when Portugal was a FASCIST DICTATORSHIP and made war against several countries in Africa), I’m not pro-Putin, I’m in favor of helping Ukrainian refugees, and I’m vaccinated against Pentagon’s/Kiev’s propaganda machine, and I’m more and more anti-€uro/EU dictatorship, and western hypocrisy and even some xenophobia disgusts me. I’m 100% against cancel culture, I wish this war could have been avoided, and now I wish it will stop as soon as possible. For these reasons, people in my country brainwashed by MainStreamMedia call me “putinist”. Then I just call them idiots/ignorant, or fascists under de disguise of “liberal democrats”, and just hope the current western lies will fall in a much quicker way than the “weapons of mass destruction”, before it’s too late!
And if Sweden’s and Finland’s leaderships are also going crazy, then I just hope Turkey and Hungary votes in NATO go the right way.
Dmitry Medvedev’s post 14.05.2022 (He is bit harsh today.)
Points of the statement of the G7 Foreign Ministers following the results of the three-day meeting, which was not at all striking in its novelty (with comments)
• Changing the borders of Ukraine is not recognized.
Let’s put it mildly: our country does not care about the non-recognition of new borders by the G7, the true will of the people living there is important. Don’t forget the Kosovo precedent, Western friends.
• Kyiv will receive weapons as long as it is needed.
That is, the G7 will continue to wage a covert war with Russia, instead of dealing with problems with fuel and food for their disgruntled residents.
• Efforts are intensifying to reduce dependence on Russian energy, including phasing out coal and oil.
This means that the robbery of the citizens of the G7 will continue to support the corrupt regime in Ukraine, the very existence of which is not known to all the inhabitants of these countries.
• The G7 countries call on China not to help Russia circumvent sanctions, not to justify its actions, and not to provide it with military assistance.
This is a continuation of direct interference in the affairs of China and a hint that we can punish you, if anything.
• Further restrictive measures will be taken against Moscow.
And we thought that the G7 countries would offer Russia material assistance for the denazification and demilitarization of Ukraine. Wrong.
Even the “Sevens” forgot to say about the inevitable use by Russia of strategic nuclear forces in the conflict and the probable executions of Ukrainian nationalists at the Execution Ground of Red Square through quartering. Everything is still ahead.
‘Dmitry Medvedev’s post 14.05.2022 (He is bit harsh today.)’
So too was Sergey Lavrov’s most recent statement at Russia’s Foreign and Defense Policy Council accusing the West of declaring a “total hybrid war” against Russia, resorting to open “robbery” and “state piracy”. Video available at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hglPFXxqlxo if you can excuse the YouTube ads.
Such strong words are unprecedented from Lavrov so far as I’m able to recall. In any case, he and Medvedev seem to be in quite close agreement on the fundamentals. Reading from the same high echelon script perhaps? I could be wrong, of course, but it’s sure starting to sound to me like an announcement of forthcoming removal of the glove that has so far softened Russia’s iron fist somewhat.
Re your Lavrov link. “The collective West has declared a total hybrid war against us, and while it is difficult to predict how long all this will last, it is evident that everyone will feel the consequences, without exception,” the foreign minister stated.
Well, here it is: 107 countries have ‘severe exposure’ to consequences of the Ukraine war. 107 countries facing 3 risks – rising food prices, rising energy prices, tougher financial conditions. 1.7 billion people. That is more than one fifth of the world population. Their love for everything US may change pretty significantly and soon… I wonder how many of these countries have US bases. Fear will replace the need for survival. Un votes may look very differently in the future. Especially when Russia and China offer real help, and with below market pricing on top. Market pricing which is dictated by the west and often has no basis on reality. Why should a third world country have to pay a global price on something, anything that is based on a market that sits in a financially flush country. But is then paid pennies on the dollar for anything they are selling. This was bound to go bust at some time.
Throw in supply chain disruption, which has already eliminated some players, making the disruption even greater, rinse and repeat a few times, and now to top it off throw in fuel shortages. This is just happening in the US. China is playing stop and go with the supply chain, keeping 20% of all shipping in a holding pattern in its ports right now. The fuel situation is a bonus that is home brewed by the west. This is a game the US with the rest of the west can no longer control and in the long run Russia and China are pulling the strings. I wouldn’t be surprised if they have prepared for this for some time and now just have to wait it out. The west is slowly but surely killing itself.
So what does the average person in the west do to get through this? or anywhere in the world. These 107 countries seem to be looking at rather dire times. The west if facing some tough first world problems in comparison. Maybe we should start talking about this.
I really don’t know what an average person anywhere can do to get through it all. I’m a fortunate “old geezer” myself having retired in a rural setting where it’s actually possible to grow a substantial amount of my own food if it comes to that. It’s a northern climate and so winter heating could be an issue, but my good neighbor has a wood pile and a stove to burn it in. I suppose we could share if need be, and it’s a small loss at my age if I don’t survive anyhow. As for advising anyone else how to handle their own situation, whether “average” or not, I haven’t a clue other than to say that individual versatility along with freedom from debt will almost certainly be major advantages.
Well if Norway is that green they should consequently stop producing Oil and Gas
As Norway is a mayor player in that regard
And your salmon farms are not very eco-friendly to say the least….
But 5 million Norwegians are green and saving the planet because they use wood for heating 😂
OH and by the way Norway is in the top 20 of weapons exporters
Even to Israel where they just shot an Christian Journalist
The Russians sound to me like a Luis Vitton store manager when he sees the first 4 or 5 members of a flash mob of looters barreling into his store.
The US is now being looted. The thieves have backed up the getaway truck and are throwing heavy sacks of money into the back of it. Will they get them all? Will they leave some sacks behind to escap?. Will the getaway driver crash and burn?
I’m betting the Russians can thwart them, finally. But it’s gonna get rough, for sure.
In the midst of that unceasing imperial orgy of insane propaganda, here in the West, your prolonged healthy laughter contributes considerably towards preserving intact our mental heath, Gonzalo.. All the more so given the voice of reason can be heard behind it.
Deserves indeed to be respected that Ukrainian military officer who, being asked why he decided to surrender together with all his men, replied:
— We were in no position to fight anymore…
Insisting he added:
— Once we had been abandoned by our senior commanders, we could not fight any longer.
I like Gonzalo, he is a funny man, he has common sense and street smarts which many educated people lack.
Gonzalo Lira does indeed look out of shape, he should do some cardio workouts, perhaps some jogging along the frontline in Kharkiv would do him some good.
Khazars have always had slavs killed to their ends. Unfortunately it’s the polish with their centuries old hatred of Russia that are preventing ukrainian slavs from coming to their senses. Their third partner, the kapos have their private jets ready on the runway and tribesmen in the US ready to receive them just like saakashvilli who fled after creating Georgia war.
Can anyone share the link to the UN security council called by russia where they show videos of civilians being interviewed and going aginst the msm narrative. They also showed interviews from patrick lancaster. The one where they show how reuters cut out half the testimony of the woman freed from azovstal? Thanks.
Now that the Ukraineans have started using bicyles, they are definately going to defeat the Russian forces. The Afghans used bicyles and defeated the USA and NATO and therefore, the Ukraineans will also defeat RAF. There is something about bicyles.
machine translation:
The referendum on the entry of South Ossetia into Russia is scheduled for July 17.
The former president said that after the accession of South Ossetia to Russia, it is planned to unite it with North Ossetia.
In general, in the summer there will be +1 subject in the Russian Federation (if it is not combined into one Big Ossetia). Or more (if I have referendums elsewhere).
The UK, USA and Europe 🇪🇺 lust and drool over Russian oil, gas, gold, land, agriculture, platinum, neon gas, palladium and dozens of other resources. It drives them insane that they cannot steal those resources as long as Putin is running the show.
At the “Jonestown Massacre” in 1978 it was proven that many, if not most, deaths were caused by bullets – not ‘Kool-Aid’. There may be a kill squad awaiting orders to make Avozstal a catacomb.
Jim Jones survived, and has been hiding at Mariupol since 1978, acting as the spiritual advisor to the grandfathers of the Nazis? Tell us more about this tale..
all Washington and London is concerned about is the intel from the NATO advisors in the catacombs of Avozstal that will be captured soon – they need to trade something like an agreement that disappears after they have their stooges – the uSA has done this so many times – how can they do it with a straight face
The Russians should ask for Hunter to be traded for 1/2 of – one- of the prisoners in Avozstal
Mr. Lira’s assumption about Secy. Austin’s motive for calling Gen. Shoigu may be correct, but I wouldn’t be so confidant because it could be wishful thinking. As I understand, the US announced it is sending a large contingent of troops to Poland and intends to massively arm them, possibly to be used in conjunction with Poland’s suggested “peacekeeping force” incursion into W. Ukraine. Maybe Austin was ‘warning’ Shoigu not to interfere with that “peacekeeping” effort, or else the full force of the US and NATO will come down on the Russian Army. Who knows? Given the demonstrated Western belligerence (including Austin’s statement) and absolute determination to escalate no matter what happens, I suggest that is equally possible.
I also wonder whether the West’s intention behind Zelensky’s policy in the face of imminent defeat is not to preserve lives of the Ukrainian troops and civilians but rather to allow the Russians to clear them out of some of the territories up to a certain point, after which future plans could be to enable new borders to create a new homeland for the Tribe.
“Maybe Austin was ‘warning’ Shoigu not to interfere with that “peacekeeping” effort, or else the full force of the US and NATO will come down on the Russian Army.”
You seem to have forgotten that Lloyd Austin works for Biden and co. I highly doubt that the call to Shoigu contained any threats. I believe he was calling for a ceasefire knowing there are major Ukrainian fronts that may be ready to collapse.
I believe what Gonzalo is hinting at is not just the collapse of the Ukrainian military but the rout it’s about to suffer.
No food no water ( A army moves on its stomach)
Constant bombardment from artillery
No sleep
No hygiene, laying in the dirt constantly to avoid the artillery
No resupply
Lack of ammunition
No command authority, communication
No Air support or air defense
No esprit de corps
Webster’s definition of a military rout:
A rout /raʊt/ is a panicked, disorderly and undisciplined retreat of troops from a battlefield, following a collapse in a given unit’s command authority, unit cohesion and combat morale (esprit de corps).
This is the future for the Ukrainian military. I suggest the Azov guys threatening to shoot anyone who wishes to surrender to watch their back.
The majority of the Ukrainian army now are poor and old conscripts. The men with any money fled the country. Then you have azov nazis and other criminals. They are more like a gang of criminals than soldiers. They middle class or wealthier men would never fight for the Kiev criminals like Zelensky or Kolomoisky.
The last battle a few years ago in dpr and lpr, the Azov in the rear shot any conscripts who tried to surrender. I too pray the Ukie army surrenders.
This is all kabuki theater designed for ‘Western’ domestic consumption. To keep the collective reptile brain of the sheeple all jacked up, a constant narrative has to be shouted out. Every other day some western “official” shows up in Kiev showing “support” for _elenskyy. Every day some western ‘”official” on MSM bleating out “heroes”, “democracy”, “Mad Vlad”, and on and on. The fact that they lie and regularly contradict previous statements doesn’t matter because the whole point of all this is to create spectacle. With the very short attention span of the majority of the public (at least here in Americorp), inconsistency isn’t an issue. In fact it might be a plus (sowing discord?). The important thing is to keep the narrative (?) going 24/7. Absolutely nothing of what these people say should be taken seriously. I’m pretty sure the Russians see through this nonsense, but are diplomatic so for form sake give them the time of day. And the contrast reinforces the impression of who are the real ‘adults in the room’.
I’m inclined to agree. Raytheon Ray calls for a ceasefire knowing Russia will decline; afterwards the US can say “See? we tried to end the war to no avail, thus $40bil more in weaponry, please.”
I see a particular positive to another point you make so well, about how sheeple will believe anything their chose Voice of Authority tells them, even when they’d just said the opposite last night.
The positive aspect is, once the good guys are able to take over the media, they can EASILY use it to spread truth to the herd, as long as they keep the media looking more or less the same. After all, when the much-hated-by-liberals murdoch bought the Wall Street Journal, it appears the readership just blithely accepted
that, once they saw that the paper basically looked the same. I found that astonishing.
These days, we often wonder: even if thing DO change for the better, how are we going to get the sheep to wake the f up? And I think that’s the only way to do it – some kind of “re-education” programs would face much distrust and resistance. But having the re-ed undertaken by the same channels & papers, newly under the control of SANE people, will be like a knife through warm butter.
Absolutely correct. A major clue: two political allies (from the same party and same state, no less!) perform some theater. One votes for $40 billion and then makes a secret trip to the Ukraine. The other obstructs the vote so that when the first senator arrives in Kiev no $40 billion has been granted. Things are very much not what they seem.
The Administration does not hate Ukraine.
Worse, her blood and treasure is merely one of many “resources” to be applied to a problem, like many nations.
Classic empire.
NATO and the US deep state need to lose in Ukraine, and lose badly. Neocons and the MIC are in full control in Washington DC, and nothing will change until they are thoroughly embarrassed.
If we see a large influx of Israelis to Ukraine after the war, then we can be sure this army slaughter is an act of genocide to destroy the breeding population of the native inhabitants. Killing a large number of strong young gentiles would give an advantage to the invaders, the colonizing tribe. Modern Ukraine is a variation on a theme from Palestine circa 1938. See: The Ethic Cleansing of Palestine, by Ilan Pappé. Now showing in Ukraine.
Zerohedge has a post on the conversation between Austin and Shoigu. The tone of the comments is almost entirely of the view Austin is in a loosing position. Contrary opinion gets smashed with down votes and push back.
Interesting, and indicative that team USA is just a tad divided.
Unfortunately Zerohedge is not the barometer from which we can judge American opinion. People who turn up there are looking for the truth, recognise the sea of lies spewing from msm. If such comments appeared in mainstream like the WaPo or NYT that would be a different story, however, the snakes wouldn’t print positive Russian comments.
UKRAINE WINS – Eurovision Song Contest. These Euro-lemmings just wont give up will they. I bet the wounded and dead UAF are uplifted winning that Euro trash contest.
Please read my final sentence, I was in no way claiming ZH as representative of American opinion. I was merely observing the division of opinion, which is interesting in that “a house dividied will not stand”. And no, I cannot recall where that phrase originated.
I’m not having a go/pop eagle eye. For me Red & Blue are both part of the problem and the Red team on Z/H, IMO, are just as unwilling to recognise this fact. Know thy enemy – Sun Tzu. Believing Trumplethinskin to be a solution when all he was about was catchy jingles like Lock Her Up & Drain The Swamp; well he didn’t lock her up and added bigly to the swamp, handing the Treasury Keys to Goldman Sachs and like Bubba Bush & Barry Obama bailed out the Banks & Corporations, TBTF’s.
Should we believe Austin calling Shoigu just when the Russians present their info regarding the US-funded biolabs to the UNSC, is just a coincidence? Could all these billions of dollars sent to ‘elensky’s Nazi handlers over the last 2.5 month be ransom money to hold back much of the same info, but would now be corroborated by the Russian material which names names?
I’m not saying this is the case, but if it were it would go a long way to explain the utter panic and extreme Russophobia of Western ‘leaders’ and their mouthpieces. If these biolabs can, in fact, be demonstrated concretely – and corroborated by Ukranian and Russian documentation – to be tied to US institutions, corporations and politicians it would be an utter disaster every level. In fact, I doubt the US would remain intact as a state after the rest of the world calls in the debt after violating human dignity on such a basic level.
Again, I’m not saying this is the case, but I also wouldn’t put it past the neoconazi alliance either.
We think Gonzalo is trying to appeal to the senses of the Ukrainian citizens & military who appear to be seriously struggling. Very understandable.
But there’s a “backdrop” to this proxy war by the US that’s on full display going full tilt by the US Finanical/Military/Foreign Relations Elites.
That backdrop begins with a Britisher named McKinder, or MacKinder who realized years ago, a Western Power must never allow Eurasia (Russia/China/Turkey, Iran) to be joined together in commerce/trading and the use of different currencies.
In Counterpunch, 2016, the reporter, Mike Whitney sites (US Ambassador?) Brzezinski’s 1997 work, “The Grand Chessboard” and how the US could achieve global dominance. (Henry Kissinger was of the same mind back then.)
But by 2016, Brzezinski realized this wasn’t going to happen. He pointed ” to the rise of Russia and China, the weakness of Europe and the “violent political awakening among post-colonial Muslims” as the proximate causes of this sudden reversal. His comments on Islam are particularly instructive in that he provides a rational explanation for terrorism rather than the typical government boilerplate about “hating our freedoms.” To his credit, Brzezinski sees the outbreak of terror as the “welling up of historical grievances” (from “deeply felt sense of injustice”) not as the mindless violence of fanatical psychopaths.”
That’s one small clip from what B stated, but those words were profound because this is what has happened.
It’s the core reason behind the behaviors of neo-cons like Victoria Nuland, Robert Khagan & many others, along many multi-billionaires in America who have perpetrated this war, using the puppet Zelenski & his band of Ukrainian military who have held intense grievances against Russia (and actually others.) for generations now.
Meantime, there’s a much broader war going on in Western/Central Europe with the US forcing those puppet/bought-off politicians to do the US bidding. Sadly, it’s mostly Western citizens who will bear the brunt of this conflict, and that involves millions of Americans, too.
Excellent analysis of course, but Gonzalo Lira does not conclude by saying that the occult powers (Zionist Illuminati) behind the USA / NATO WANT THE WORLD WAR AT ALL COSTS, but they also need, for present and future generations (if there will be) to give the world the idea that the responsibility rests entirely on Russia to be able to establish the New World Order as saviors of humanity and with the consent of mankind. To achieve this they will almost certainly resort to a False flag, such as Pearl Harbor for World War II, 9/11 to create the threat of Islamic terrorism and many other minor ones, all part of the strategy of permanent tension. It is a game of chess that the traditional Russian champions are sure to win. There will inevitably be countless victims, but the responsibility will lie entirely and evidently with the West. The truth for which Russia acts, is as always unbeatable and the lie for which the West works, is inexorably doomed to succumb.
The Ukrainian military command has strictly prohibited officers and soldiers from criticizing the performance of Western armaments and equipment delivered to Ukrainian forces. Anyone violating this prohibition will be court-martialed.
The criticisms of the Ukrainian military regarding the poor quality of the armaments delivered to them by the NATO countries have become not only recurrent but noisy.
From an objective point of view, the delivery of such obsolete equipment as the M113, a troop transport vehicle dating from the beginning of the Vietnam War, is absurd. It in no way reflects a desire to help Ukraine but to perpetuate the damage and probably camouflage a vast circuit of corruption based on military assistance to this country.
The FGM-148 Javelin remains highly criticized, but not as much as the NLAW anti-tank missile or, worst of all, the British portable surface-to-air missile Starstreak, a variant of the Stinger. Even the M777 guns were delivered without their GPS and Excalibur modules, lest they fall into Russian hands.
Criticisms of Russian equipment delivered by countries such as Poland, Slovenia or Romania are even harsher. To believe that these countries have no armed forces.
The arms industry has followed the same path as the automotive industry: more and more expensive, less and less reliable, a lot of fragile and faulty electronics… In short, not reliable at all except for marketing . Marketing sells.
Compare the classy Maria Zakharova with the dumb bimbos American Presidents have as their press secretaries, going back at least to Bush II’s Dana Perrino. Says it all about the differences between the 2 countries.
The ceasefire was demanded to allow Ukraine to regroup and rearm with new NATO weapons so as to prolong he war and keep up the illusion that Ukraine is winning. Austin is under strict orders to keep the money and arms flowing to Ukraine and if Ukraine collapses, the party is over. This is a proxy war to foster regime change in Russia. That is the mission and there can only be one victor. American arms are being destroyed, sold, or captured before they reach the front. Austin wants to put the war on pause so they can deliver those weapons before they are all lost. They also want to buy time to get Poland into the fight and then eventually land American troops. Lira is giving Austin too much credit. He isn’t worried about Ukrainians surrendering, despite Zelensky’s orders to stand and fight. It’s about removing Putin and crushing Russia. America does not negotiate. It only dictates the terms of surrender.
Yes Reno but at this point these are only wet delusional dreams
The collapse of Ukraine is near
I have bet that the war will be over by August
If not it’s only getting worse for Europe
when will the ukrainian soldiers finaly understand that USZIOUK gives a shit sacrificing them for
the jewish Rothschild plutocrat NWO mafia ? when will they understand ?
It’s depressing to see Slav kill Slav at the behest of the KM. Humans are too dumb I’m afraid. We are all brothers. That includes English people like myself. Maybe one day…but who knows. Keep the faith.
God Bless you, Gonzalo. I prayed for you a couple of weeks ago when things looked bleak. God answers prayer. Yes, the request for a phone consultation is a sure sign of desperation on the part of the western puppet masters and their puppet, the Zelensky regime. The entire situation is almost a carbon copy of the final days of the Third Reich. The US stopped being the uni-polar world power several years ago, when after almost sixty years of being the dominate power in the middle east, Russia intervened and defeated their proxy armies in Syria and sent them packing. I knew then it was only a matter of time before the circus in Afghanistan would come to a shameful end, but not even I was prepared for how bad it would end! Now they are losing their puppet in the Ukraine. The losses and defeats are piling up. I am more worried now than ever though. These gangsters are blood thirsty, and they will probably go Sampson once they see their empire is lost. Hopefully, they will go out with a whimper once the economy collapses this summer or fall. America is reaping what it has sown.
IMHO Ukraine has given a good account of itself, militarily. Rather like Finland in the Winter War of 1940, and even if militarily defeated the country, or most of it will remain independent, if neutralized. But things having got to this point Russia would be foolish indeed not to take Odessa and the Black Sea littoral down to the Moldavian/Romanian border. The whole region was only retained by Ukraine after 2014 by the sternest repression.
Anything less leaves a toe hold for NATO in the Black Sea region.
…Ukraine has given a good account of itself, militarily. Rather like Finland in the Winter War of 1940, …
Sorry but I have to disagree. The Ukrainians are in no way comparable to the Finns.
At the start of hostilities the Ukrainians actually outnumbered the Russians unlike the Finns who were vastly outnumbered, outgunned and ‘outequipped’ by the Soviets.
The Finns fought skilfully, bravely, tenaciously, and honourably, giving the Soviets a great big bloody nose in the process — the Soviets lost ten times more men than the Finns leading Krushchev to remark later that the Soviets had actually suffered a moral defeat.
The Ukrainians are fighting a coward’s war, hiding behind non-combatants — women, children, the elderly — terrorising other Ukrainians, generally acting as an army of occupation rather than defenders of their own citizens. They break every rule of the Geneva Conventions every day.
It’s incorrect to mention the Ukraine in the same breath as Finland. Comparing the Ukrainians to the Finns is an insult to the Finns. The Ukrainians are beasts and are better likened to swine, and even then, if swine could speak, they might object.
Russia’s fighting US & Europe, therefore, this wont end until Russian tanks are rolling down the Champs Elysees, with a guard of honour from the Yellow Jackets.
Austin asking for a ceasefire is what the Pentagon tells us; Tass doesn’t mention a ceasefire in its report.
Nonetheless it’s good that the two defence chiefs are talking to each other. At the very least this may perhaps ensure that the fighting is limited to the territory of the Ukraine.
Gonzalo’s conclusion, based on his common-sense approach to the problem, is probably the most likely — that the weaker party (Nato) is looking for a ceasefire or, even more likely, looking for an ‘honourable’ capitulation for the Ukrainians. Despite the rhetoric, Euro Nato is getting exhausted of war stocks — clearance of old or reserve stocks is one thing, but the depletion of operational and training stocks are worrying them; hence the hunt for old Soviet equipment and the supply of retired stocks (eg Gephard; sans ammo apparently, since the ammo is produced by a third country.) A case in point are the much vaunted — and much maligned — FGM-148 Javelins. There are reports that US Javelin stocks have declined by a third and the manufacturer needs two years to produce replacements for lack of capacity.
But the biggest worry for the military professionals in Euro Nato, I’ll bet, is that a prolongation of Ukrainian resistance will expose the utter lack of combat readiness — for conventional war — of Nato forces; what with a fraction of aviation, armour, artillery, air defence and personnel available, a legacy of Nato’s decades long involvement in GWOT in Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, Mali, Niger, Chad, etc — essentially counter-insurgency operations — that have left them ungeared for conventional war in Europe. Despite the bluster (eg Johnson’s threat to put UK troops in the Ukraine), they can hardly field more than half a dozen ready armoured or mechanised divisions between them in Euro Nato, inclusive of the British division. The to-ing and fro-ing of Nato troops on exercise is reminiscent of Rommel’s parade when the Afrika Korps was inaugurated — he made his tanks go round and round in order to give an impression of having far greater numbers of tanks than the actual number of tanks he had. Nato military big-wigs know they’re employing Rommel’s trick as do, of course, their tentative opponents, the RF General Staff. Fair to say RF has Nato properly sized up.
The situation for the Ukrainians is untenable; everyone can see that even if the West won’t admit it. The Ukrainians are getting demilitarised every hour of the day.
Seeing the Russian military’s much discussed reconnaisance-strike complex/system in action is really something: RF battlefield intelligence is superb, working not only to find supply dumps, even camouflaged/disguised ones, but also to find the enemy and to direct the strike units (air, rocket/missile, artillery) to hit them very quickly, whether the enemy are on the move, in assembly areas or in their defensive positions. The RF RSC can identify not only large brigade ‘control posts’ (HQ), but even company CPs (about 4-5 men) and destroy them — IOW, the Ukrainians are being defeated in detail, no doubt about that.
The only thing that is saving the Ukrainians in the Donbass from a rout is their criminal use of human shields. Fighting in built-up areas is always going to be a hard slog; more so with civilian hostages, booby-trapping of chemical plants, dams, etc, added to the mix. The clearance of settlements is going to take patience and discipline — two qualities which the Russians have displayed time and again that they are not short of; they possess these in plentiful measure. Something admirable in a fighting force that says much about the success of RF military reforms post-2008.
The stunning achievements in the 10-11 weeks of the SMO is something I’m willing to bet even the military professionals in Nato, with their history of My Lais, Fallujas and Raqqas, secretly admire although they would rather cut their ears off than admit it.
“But the biggest worry for the military professionals in Euro Nato, I’ll bet, is that a prolongation of Ukrainian resistance will expose the utter lack of combat readiness — for conventional war — of Nato forces; “
My goodness – NATO and the US are completely so ready. They have the Satan worshiping ‘woke’ progressives on their side as well as their Rainbow flags, proper pronouns, twinks, toms, tough-as-nails men posing as women still with a complete set of “equipment” issued at birth and who made it through university on full-ride athetic scholarships as the beat the socks off of all their genetic female competitors, and emasculated troops who all realize that regardless of their ability or operational expertise that they will never advance to leadship roles within their service as those roles are now reserved for politically correct ‘leaders of color and those with the correct gender orientation’ — you know, ‘Leaders” with the correct racial, ethnic, and gender alignment that are not possessed by any White, “Cis-gender”, religious, conservative men who by virtue of birth are now incapable of leadership roles due to their white privilege and sexual conservatism.
These near subhuman conservative troops will now be relegated to the front line with the most expensive and least useful equipment and relegated as cannon fodder as their rainbow colored leadership and commanders lead from wayyyyyy behind, like in some bunker in South Dakota.
“a legacy of Nato’s decades long involvement in GWOT in Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, Mali, Niger, Chad, etc — essentially counter-insurgency operations”
Something that not many people realize. While the United States was mucking around in Afghanistan and Iraq, and Turkey in Syria, France, the third-strongest NATO power, was mucking around in the Sahara.
The Youtube channel Whatifalthist recently pointed out that full-scale total war slaughters like the World Wars are actually uncommon and could be attributable to youth bulges in Western countries.
Normally, throughout history, wars are limited and the aim is the economic exhaustion of the opponent.
I was at a Republican LDD in Western South Dakota tonight. A woman was asking US Cong and nebish Dusty Johnson why he voted to give the $40-50+ billion to Ukraine when the US is broke? He was pushing back and arguing. Some grassroots US Americanos are waking up.
After he basically blew her off (he knows “intel” stuff she doesn’t know and will always give $$ to those fighting for freedom don’t ya know?) I jumped in and asked Johnson (R-SD), who got mad at me tonight when I asked him why Austin had called Shoigu for a cease fire if Ukraine was winning. Why throw in the towel for your boxer if you are winning the match? I told him the intel boys were feeding him bovine excrement for data and analysis. Ellsworth AFB has its air show today and tomorrow: B2s, F22s and B52s… a big fat nuclear target. I wonder how all those uninformed, “were-number-1” ranchers will feel if Rapid City gets a 200k degree suntan because the idiots in DC screw up?
Washington is pure evil. The failure here is to note that this is beyond hate. The regime in the West is universally genocidal in its intent and wants to extend its murderous policies across the entire world.
There is nothing here but the extermination of unnecessary vermin and the intelligent use of those vermin that are still employable to embarrass or wear down the Russians in a war of attrition.
Until this is grasped there is no real understanding of the situation. Collapse may well come but what then? Russia may take the south and east of Ukraine, but those lands will no longer be Ukrainian hereafter. What do you think will happen to the people left in the rump state of Ukraine as they will be ruled by people who consider their only use to be cannon fodder?
Collapse may offer a respite, but it is not enough really. It is not enough for everyone else either. True evil stalks the planet and that fact needs to be faced.
It’s quite objective and states the challenges for Russia plus highlights, rightly or wrongly the disagreement between generals and Putin on renewing contracts of retiring military for one year.
Just look at the sources used in the article: Bloomberg, WSJ, Rand, Institute for the Study of War (Kaganate of Nuland’s family think tank), War on the Rocks (US MIC retirement publishing company).
And I don’t believe that rubbish Albemarle Man writes about Putin either.
The challenges are not Russia’s, they’re the West’s.
US/Nato/West are losing the proxy war in the Ukraine and no amount of spin can alter that fact.
I disagree that Lloyd Austin & Co “really hate Ukrainians”…..anymore than any common psychopath has to hate his victims. It’s just business as usual….a means to an end…..nothing personal.
On another note, Gonzalo, I hope you have a found a good hidey hole as if the SBU put you on good behaviour the last time they picked you up….they will surely settle your hash after this video, lol.
An alternative to a military collapse in Ukraine would be a military coup, along the lines of the failed attempt in July 1944 by German officers to kill Adolf Hitler and form a new government, but successful this time. The new government asks for an armistice and the opening of peace negotiations. The problem for the new government is that it would have to rid itself of the western puppets that are present at all levels of the present Ukrainian government and military.
Austin let the whole cage full of cats out of the bag. To demand an ¨ imediate ceasfire ¨ a couple weeks after he announced the intention to basically crush Russia was an eye opener. What do those representatives of the 40 military commands who gathered in Germany recentlyl, think about this tough guy impersonation? Are Finland and Sweden really all that confident about joining NATO? People like him operate in outer space and that is very dangerous. They think nobody can remember what was stated pratically yesterday. Why are people like him put in charge of anything, with more responsiblity than monitoring a bathroom in a Go Go bar?
I thought Uki losses were of a magnitude of 200 to 300 per day. If they are ranging between 400 to 700 per day, that is a surprize for me. Ukraine is lucky, damn lucky, that Russia actually cares about it.
The goal of the US, the Brits and their Europuppets is to dismantle Russia. Just read Zbigniew Brzeziński and the documentation of the Thinktank Rand Corporation. Ukraine is just an essential geopolitical instrument in the drive to destabilize Russia. Russia is fighting for its survival and has luckily developed a military superiority especially in MHD (magneto-hydro-dynamics) and plasma physics and its ballistic applications that will allow it to strike all NATO operational centers when the time comes. As much as Ukraine is used by the Anglo-Saxon Hegemon to weaken Russia, Russia uses the theater of war to apprehend the real military capabilities of NATO while feigning a certain feverishness of its military forces. The shift towards a multipolar world is definitive and irreversible. The Anglo-Saxon Hegemon cannot dismantle Russia without being destroyed in the process. It might start with a salvo of kinzhal missiles on Davos between 22 and 26 May ;-)
What Lira refers to as a sudden Ukrainian Army collapse, a sudden realization, that Ray McGovern refers to a METANOIA.
A sudden psychological upheaval, that Glazyev also refers to as a Great Change.
Interesting that the German Green Economics Affairs Minister has a PhD in Philosophy – on Metanoia!
As UK Diplomat Alastair Crooke writes, is Wall Street about to dump Biden and the Dems, go full GOP to avoid adventurism?
Austin, a Ratheon weapons salesman, is in the D.C. fog – the only reason he called Shoigu is a D.C. imperative.
Some around Biden obviously see Metanoia happening – where they sense they lose that Heavenly Envelope.
And this well before the Nov. Midterms.
Russia, with Glazyev know full well this is underway, so keep the pressure up. Unclear if Finland has the slightest idea of what is walking into.
It is not just an Army thing – a huge upheaval is underway.
2 NY Times pieces on May 11 show a sudden turnabout :
on May 11, headlined “Russians Hold Much of the East, Setbacks Aside.”
and “America and Its Allies Want to Bleed Russia. They Really Shouldn’t.” suggest that it is time for the U.S. to wave the white flag.
This MSM major media sheet shift is why Austin called Shoigu.
Very good analysis here :
Surprising Gonzalo!… but I disagree with you, when you say that the Ukrainian forces are fighting bravely. Ukrainian civilians say that they are human shields and that the Ukrainians shoot at them instead of going to war with the Russians.
What you do, Gonzalo, that is brave. Thank you!
And another thing: Nazi ideology arises when the oligarchies feel threatened. The oligarchies of the world join that coven. Fanaticism links Nazis, jihadists, mercenaries and organized crime.
Regardless what has been communicated by Austin, I would guess that this call was about Finland/Sweden joining NATO. Warning not to start any military counter action.
Thankfully neither Helsinki, nor Stockholm have a Nazi gang put in there by a US coup like Kiev. Lap-poodles, yes.
Clearly neither of the 3 would ever have the nuclear button, yet if NATO proliferates nukes, as in Germany, Spain, Italy, Turkey, expect a reaction.
Turkey opposes Finland/Sweden in NATO as they have fostered terrorists that Turkey finds irritating. And Turkey says remember Greece’s NATO sabre rattling.
Bonjour,
Cordialement
Please put a translation in future. Mod:
Hello Could you please allow the transcription. Being French-speaking, I can read and understand written English, but a lot of trouble listening to you. Thank you for the work of deconstructing the NATO discourse, widely disseminated by the mainstream media. After a while the lies are so big, that it becomes stupid! Very pitifully, a US senator has just temporarily blocked the US budget for aid to Ukraine, asking for the appointment of an inspector general to control the circuits that lead to Ukraine, and the networks of arms resale by the Ukrainian generals plolanis, Bulgarian Romanians, it seems that this is an exceptional manna for them. but the truth will eventually come out Kind regards
I do not believe that the Ukrainian army will collapse.
The german army didn’t collapse, as the Russian had to go up to Berlin.
In totalitarian regime, the people die till the end of the regime, and as NATO-Azov have the upper hand on the Ukrainian army, those poor ukrainian soldiers will have to die.
The Biden administration freak show had its colored army chief call his Russian counterpart and tell him that Washington was going to fight to the last Ukrainian. The only question now remaining is how many Ukrainians are left. A lot of Ukrainian soldiers have already been shot in the back by their own men because they didn’t want to obey Washington any more and tried to escape the death trap. Unfortunately, Washington and its paymasters are too powerful for the would-be escapees, and they had to die.
Perhaps Lloyd Austin called Sergei Shoigu after the capture of some very high ranking NATO officers ?
e.g., US Admiral Eric Olson (ret) ?
Bhadrakumar Melkulangara on Twitter: ” Olson is a familiar face in the US think tank circuit who is regarded as a ‘strategic thinker’ and a highly decorated fellow (recipient of Pentagon’s Defense Distinguished Service Medal) who specialised in covert special operations, with a long stint of 8 years from 2003 to 2011 continuously in the US Special Operations Command, including as its commander (coinciding with the US covert wars in Iraq, Syria, Libya and Afghanistan.) He is a Navy SEAL by training – & the first-ever four star Navy SEAL general! In retrospect, the US attached the highest importance to denying Russians a victory in Mariupol by deploying such a top gun to supervise the operation. To be sure, his attempted escape would have been known to the Pentagon, which probably explains Def Secretary Austin’s sheepish phone call to Russian Def Minister Sergei Shoigu on Friday (their first conversation after the Russian operation began in Ukraine!)”
Thank you for telling the real story and don’t Tell BS like all the western outlets
It was like fresh air to see you again, Gonzalo.
Yes yes and yes … need to hear from you more often..!
@Serafin
I do not know if he knows it…but surely if US does not have anymore need of his clownish services, he can be left on his own…and he should constantly watch his back.
Yes the Brits. I am English. Believe me there is a difference. We will see these British fckers hang.
Kevin, is there a difference between a British man and an English man? I never knew, always though they were one and the same.
@kevin king
The Buddhist ethnic Tuvans, descending from Scythians and Mongols are one of the warrior “tribes” of Russia, like Chechens and Cossaks
Good observation by Lira. The Ukrainian allies want them dead. With friends like that you don’t need enemies.
Same goes for the non-anglo Nato countries I pressume.
Can you clarify the last bit (i.e. who wants who dead)? Thanks.
The countries who are ostensibly in support of, or allied with, Ukraine.
Good video but he doesn’t look that great. What are Chile and the US govs doing to free him from the SBU?
The only right way for NATO, is into oblivion.
I could be wrong, of course, but it’s sure starting to sound to me like an announcement of forthcoming removal of the glove that has so far softened Russia’s iron fist somewhat.
ref: https://www.rt.com/russia/555481-lavrov-west-state-piracy/

In Norway we regard wood to be the best source of heat, as it will warm you when you cut the tree, chop the wood and then when you burn it.

But ok Norwegians are green and peaceful 🤔
When you live in a dreamworld life is beautiful
The Russians sound to me like a Luis Vitton store manager when he sees the first 4 or 5 members of a flash mob of looters barreling into his store.
The US is now being looted. The thieves have backed up the getaway truck and are throwing heavy sacks of money into the back of it. Will they get them all? Will they leave some sacks behind to escap?. Will the getaway driver crash and burn?
I’m betting the Russians can thwart them, finally. But it’s gonna get rough, for sure.
Who’s them? Are they the same as Nuttyahoos “we”? In Russia flash mobs aren’t looters, but celebrators of life,

Best regards,
dave
Thanks.
Nvm I found it.

Now that the Ukraineans have started using bicyles, they are definately going to defeat the Russian forces. The Afghans used bicyles and defeated the USA and NATO and therefore, the Ukraineans will also defeat RAF. There is something about bicyles.
Plus, they are fighting climate change.
I haven’t laughed so hard in a long time. Thanks for your comment. Totally funny. I needed that.
@Rutmira
But Ukraine doesn’t have enough donkeys,
Just saw this
https://colonelcassad.livejournal.com/7614183.html
machine translation:
The referendum on the entry of South Ossetia into Russia is scheduled for July 17.
The former president said that after the accession of South Ossetia to Russia, it is planned to unite it with North Ossetia.
In general, in the summer there will be +1 subject in the Russian Federation (if it is not combined into one Big Ossetia). Or more (if I have referendums elsewhere).
They didn’t want Russia in the Big-Boys Club, at the Big-Table, so Russia’s formed its own club which is being flooded with membership applications.
The UK, USA and Europe 🇪🇺 lust and drool over Russian oil, gas, gold, land, agriculture, platinum, neon gas, palladium and dozens of other resources. It drives them insane that they cannot steal those resources as long as Putin is running the show.
What is missing is the “or else”
Lloyd Austin demanded a ceasefire “or else”…
What was his “or else”. Or else the US will do what?
@Truth Seeker: “Or else?”
“I shall do such things, I know not what they are
But they shall be the terror of the Earth”. — Shakespeare’s mad, senile “King Lear”.
That’s my point: Will they kill the ‘evidence’ as was done at Jonestown?
Did Shoigu laugh?
Sheep are sheep.
The way to change is through shepherds who effectively lead the herd away from the cliff to the green pastures.
The Neocons are incapable of embarrassment, their chutzpah won’t allow that. Nothing will change.
And the Russians will watch it calmly?
I don’t think so.
“Unfortunately Zerohedge is not the barometer from which we can judge American opinion. ”
That is a relief zerohedge is nothing but a bunch of gold bugs from the far right.
And Gonzo has been hoodwinked by them for a very long time. Who also has far right views on many issues.
Talking of Eurovisiontrash isn’t it ironic that Mr Pianocockplayer is being used ‘like a puppet on a string’?
It’s ironic that Ukraine are getting ahead of the Russians in bringing cases of international war crimes… as broadcast via the AZ media empire.
Deceit, lies and omissions of important facts… How predictable that the media is so anti-Russian.
A brilliant essay to the Ukrainian people! Thank you Gonzalo!
Austin, with hat in hand, demands a ceasefire… f__king hilarious.😄
Yes, pathetically hilarious but indicative of the overall hubris emanating from the Biden Administration and US Congress.
Just a taught, what if zelensky want to get rid of the nazi´s ? Might it be that he wants to continue a little longer ?
Welcome back!.
I was wondering if the call was possibly about the exchange of imprisoned American for Russian.
I thought L Austin had been calling and this was the first time his call was acknowledged/ answered.
Good point. There was likely much more to it than we get to know about.
Junk…
Marketing sells.
https://strategika51.org/2022/05/15/de-la-camelote/
Compare the classy Maria Zakharova with the dumb bimbos American Presidents have as their press secretaries, going back at least to Bush II’s Dana Perrino. Says it all about the differences between the 2 countries.
So glad you’re well. Stay safe.
According to America’s Natural News people (and they do not lie) the supplying of weaponry to Ukraine is diminishing America’s own ability to defend itself, because replenishment of donated arms cannot be done in an instant.
Another Creepy Joe Biden stupidity?:
https://www.naturalnews.com/2022-05-06-intel-biden-using-ukraine-theater-of-war-to-dispose-of-americas-munitions-arsenal.html
Which is what we have here.
So, basically, “WW3” is here, right now.
Thank you for keeping us informed and im glad you’re safe. Though you went back to your beloved Honduras.
Maybe he just called him to try to get the VIPs out of Azovstal.
This article is worth reading
https://www.theoccidentalobserver.net/2022/05/11/ukraine-part-ii/
It’s quite objective and states the challenges for Russia plus highlights, rightly or wrongly the disagreement between generals and Putin on renewing contracts of retiring military for one year.
It’s quite objective …
Really??
Good stuff.
Regards
It might start with a salvo of kinzhal missiles on Davos between 22 and 26 May ;-)
Why did Shoigu waste time talking with Austin? That Obama-appointed windbag has nothing intelligible to say.

Can they stop the train they set in motion?
Thank you for pure truth and sense as always. BJ, JB Zelensky and a many others in the west need to be held up for war crimes.
The only problem with Ukrainian army surrendering is they have to take out the neo-nazis first as the news know they are dead if they surrender
Bonjour,
Cordialement
Amen brother.
Good job, Biden!
To be sure, his attempted escape would have been known to the Pentagon, which probably explains Def Secretary Austin’s sheepish phone call to Russian Def Minister Sergei Shoigu on Friday (their first conversation after the Russian operation began in Ukraine!)”
source: something called UkraineNews on Twitter. See https://twitter.com/Ukraine66251776/
Why did the Raytheon salesman call General Shoigu? Because they are getting down near the last Ukrainian.
On a brighter note the Poles seem fully stupid enough to keep the shit show going down to the last Pole.
