The increasingly irrelevant G20 Summit concluded with sure signs that BRICS+ will be the way forward for Global South cooperation.
The redeeming quality of a tense G20 held in Bali – otherwise managed by laudable Indonesian graciousness – was to sharply define which way the geopolitical winds are blowing.
That was encapsulated in the Summit’s two highlights: the much anticipated China-US presidential meeting – representing the most important bilateral relationship of the 21st century – and the final G20 statement.
The 3-hour, 30-minute-long face-to-face meeting between Chinese President Xi Jinping and his US counterpart Joe Biden – requested by the White House – took place at the Chinese delegation’s residence in Bali, and not at the G20 venue at the luxury Apurva Kempinski in Nusa Dua.
The Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs concisely outlined what really mattered. Specifically, Xi told Biden that Taiwan independence is simply out of the question. Xi also expressed hope that NATO, the EU, and the US will engage in “comprehensive dialogue” with Russia. Instead of confrontation, the Chinese president chose to highlight the layers of common interest and cooperation.
Biden, according to the Chinese, made several points. The US does not seek a New Cold War; does not support “Taiwan independence;” does not support “two Chinas” or “one China, one Taiwan”; does not seek “decoupling” from China; and does not want to contain Beijing.
However, the recent record shows Xi has few reasons to take Biden at face value.
The final G20 statement was an even fuzzier matter: the result of arduous compromise.
As much as the G20 is self-described as “the premier forum for global economic cooperation,” engaged to “address the world’s major economic challenges,” the G7 inside the G20 in Bali had the summit de facto hijacked by war. “War” gets almost double the number of mentions in the statement compared to “food” after all.
The collective west, including the Japanese vassal state, was bent on including the war in Ukraine and its “economic impacts” – especially the food and energy crisis – in the statement. Yet without offering even a shade of context, related to NATO expansion. What mattered was to blame Russia – for everything.
The Global South effect
It was up to this year’s G20 host Indonesia – and the next host, India – to exercise trademark Asian politeness and consensus building. Jakarta and New Delhi worked extremely hard to find wording that would be acceptable to both Moscow and Beijing. Call it the Global South effect.
Still, China wanted changes in the wording. This was opposed by western states, while Russia did not review the last-minute wording because Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov had already departed.
On point 3 out of 52, the statement “expresses its deepest regret over the aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine and demands the complete and unconditional withdrawal of armed forces from the territory of Ukraine.”
“Russian aggression” is the standard NATO mantra – not shared by virtually the whole Global South.
The statement draws a direct correlation between the war and a non-contextualized “aggravation of pressing problems in the global economy – slowing economic growth, rising inflation, disruption of supply chains, worsening energy, and food security, increased risks to financial stability.”
As for this passage, it could not be more self-evident: “The use or threat of use of nuclear weapons is inadmissible. The peaceful resolution of conflicts, efforts to address crises, as well as diplomacy and dialogue, are vital. Today’s era must not be of war.”
This is ironic given that NATO and its public relations department, the EU, “represented” by the unelected eurocrats of the European Commission, don’t do “diplomacy and dialogue.”
Fixated with war
Instead the US, which controls NATO, has been weaponizing Ukraine, since March, by a whopping $91.3 billion, including the latest presidential request, this month, of $37.7 billion. That happens to be 33 percent more than Russia’s total (italics mine) military spending for 2022.
Extra evidence of the Bali Summit being hijacked by “war” was provided by the emergency meeting, called by the US, to debate what ended up being a Ukrainian S-300 missile falling on a Polish farm, and not the start of WWIII like some tabloids hysterically suggested.
Tellingly, there was absolutely no one from the Global South in the meeting – the sole Asian nation being the Japanese vassal, part of the G7.
Compounding the picture, we had the sinister Davos master Klaus Schwab once again impersonating a Bond villain at the B20 business forum, selling his Great Reset agenda of “rebuilding the world” through pandemics, famines, climate change, cyber attacks, and – of course – wars.
As if this was not ominous enough, Davos and its World Economic Forum are now ordering Africa – completely excluded from the G20 – to pay $2.8 trillion to “meet its obligations” under the Paris Agreement to minimize greenhouse gas emissions.
The demise of the G20 as we know it
The serious fracture between Global North and Global South, so evident in Bali, had already been suggested in Phnom Penh, as Cambodia hosted the East Asia Summit this past weekend.
The 10 members of ASEAN had made it very clear they remain unwilling to follow the US and the G7 in their collective demonization of Russia and in many aspects China.
The Southeast Asians are also not exactly excited by the US-concocted IPEF (Indo-Pacific Economic Framework), which will be irrelevant in terms of slowing down China’s extensive trade and connectivity across Southeast Asia.
And it gets worse. The self-described “leader of the free world” is shunning the extremely important APEC (Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation) summit in Bangkok at the end of this week.
For very sensitive and sophisticated Asian cultures, this is seen as an affront. APEC, established way back in 1990s to promote trade across the Pacific Rim, is about serious Asia-Pacific business, not Americanized “Indo-Pacific” militarization.
The snub follows Biden’s latest blunder when he erroneously addressed Cambodia’s Hun Sen as “prime minister of Colombia” at the summit in Phnom Penh.
Lining up to join BRICS
It is safe to say that the G20 may have plunged into an irretrievable path toward irrelevancy. Even before the current Southeast Asian summit wave – in Phnom Penh, Bali and Bangkok – Lavrov had already signaled what comes next when he noted that “over a dozen countries” have applied to join BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa).
Iran, Argentina, and Algeria have formally applied: Iran, alongside Russia, India, and China, is already part of the Eurasian Quad that really matters.
Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and Afghanistan are extremely interested in becoming members. Indonesia just applied, in Bali. And then there’s the next wave: Kazakhstan, UAE, Thailand (possibly applying this weekend in Bangkok), Nigeria, Senegal, and Nicaragua.
It’s crucial to note that all of the above sent their Finance Ministers to a BRICS Expansion dialogue in May. A short but serious appraisal of the candidates reveals an astonishing unity in diversity.
Lavrov himself noted that it will take time for the current five BRICS to analyze the immense geopolitical and geoeconomic implications of expanding to the point of virtually reaching the size of the G20 – and without the collective west.
What unites the candidates above all is the possession of massive natural resources: oil and gas, precious metals, rare earths, rare minerals, coal, solar power, timber, agricultural land, fisheries, and fresh water. That’s the imperative when it comes to designing a new resource-based reserve currency to bypass the US dollar.
Let’s assume that it may take up to 2025 to have this new BRICS+ configuration up and running. That would represent roughly 45 percent of confirmed global oil reserves and over 60 percent of confirmed global gas reserves (and that will balloon if gas republic Turkmenistan later joins the group).
The combined GDP – in today’s figures – would be roughly $29.35 trillion; much larger than the US ($23 trillion) and at least double the EU ($14.5 trillion, and falling).
As it stands, BRICS account for 40 percent of the global population and 25 percent of GDP. BRICS+ would congregate 4.257 billion people: over 50 percent of the total global population as it stands.
BRI embraces BRICS+
BRICS+ will be striving towards interconnection with a maze of institutions: the most important are the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), itself featuring a list of players itching to become full members; strategic OPEC+, de facto led by Russia and Saudi Arabia; and the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), China’s overarching trade and foreign policy framework for the 21st century. It is worth pointing out that early all crucial Asian players have joined the BRI.
Then there are the close links of BRICS with a plethora of regional trade blocs: ASEAN, Mercosur, GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council), Eurasia Economic Union (EAEU), Arab Trade Zone, African Continental Free Trade Area, ALBA, SAARC, and last but not least the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP), the largest trade deal on the planet, which includes a majority of BRI partners.
BRICS+ and BRI is a match everywhere you look at it – from West Asia and Central Asia to the Southeast Asians (especially Indonesia and Thailand). The multiplier effect will be key – as BRI members will be inevitably attracting more candidates for BRICS+.
This will inevitably lead to a second wave of BRICS+ hopefuls including, most certainly, Azerbaijan, Mongolia, three more Central Asians (Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and gas republic Turkmenistan), Pakistan, Vietnam, and Sri Lanka, and in Latin America, a hefty contingent featuring Chile, Cuba, Ecuador, Peru, Uruguay, Bolivia, and Venezuela.
Meanwhile, the role of the BRICS’s New Development Bank (NDB) as well as the China-led Asia Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) will be enhanced – coordinating infrastructure loans across the spectrum, as BRICS+ will be increasingly shunning dictates imposed by the US-dominated IMF and the World Bank.
All of the above barely sketches the width and depth of the geopolitical and geoeconomic realignments further on down the road – affecting every nook and cranny of global trade and supply chain networks. The G7’s obsession in isolating and/or containing the top Eurasian players is turning on itself in the framework of the G20. In the end, it’s the G7 that may be isolated by the BRICS+ irresistible force.
It seems that by 2025, Europe will be irrelevant and the US will be in disarray. I hope that as the multipolar world rises, Africa will at last be allowed to have functioning, modern infrastructure that has long been denied to them.
DeSantis Governor of Florida said: Florida is the place where Woke goes to die!
Same could be said about BRICS – all about business
The G20 is where Woke is the standard for nonsense as usual.
The missile fiasco in Poland with Zelinsky (favorite son of the moment) promoting WWIII and the assorted Grand Poo Bahs going along, until they were given the sign to reverse their opinion, is the epitome of irrelevancy for the entire crew.
@ Pepe
Obrigado, Pepe, as always, three times over, for the trilogy.
——————————————————————————
Goodbye G20, hello BRICS+
——————————————-
A very fitting headline.
Your second article in the trilogy (/the-g20s-balinese-geopolitical-dance/) provided more than enough evidence the G7/G20 are slowly but surely becoming irrelevant entities, no matter all the hullabaloo around it, and the glamorous and exotic settings.
Your present article is yet another serious tour de force, and the figures you provide are just the tip of the iceberg of the tectonic changes in the planetary geopolitical plates. It also shows the cardinal importance of the present moment, and it reveals the deliberate, slow-mo imprint of the Russian strategy vis-a-vis Ukraine.
Russia’s demands for collective security issued almost a year ago, where the equivalent of a serious warning to the Collective West. The SMO told the CW Russia was serious about its security, and Putin recently declared to the world we are going through a revolutionary situation, raising the stakes beyond the limited scope of a confrontation Russia-Ukraine.
Invaluable A. Martyanov has stated more than once, Russia could have turned Ukraine into a parking lot in a couple of hours, however, that was not/is not Russia’s intention, in the short or long term. Scorched earth is not what Russia envisions for Ukraine, the sole purpose of the SMO is the elimination of a clear and present danger at Russia’s borders. The Gerasimov doctrine, a combo war/social engineering, has guided Russia’s SMO strategy since Feb., the application of such might change/adjust accordingly, given the new conditions on the battlefield, and the new command under Gen. Surovikin.
In Russia’s deliberate, paced strategy, we could find an extension of the Gerasimov doctrine to the world at large. A short war was what many hotheaded warmongers were demanding back at the beginning of the SMO, angry about Russia not turning Ukraine into a parking lot. They were measuring the war in terms of a fast military “victory,” in absolute ignorance war is only politics by other means. Russians, masters of war, never forget that principle, and made political transformation of the political landscape across continents, an integral part of their strategy in Ukraine.
Of course, Russia is not alone in this enterprise, the Quad is deeply involved in this transformation, we can see Sun Tzu smiling from the top of Huashan, happy to see their heirs faithfully applying his doctrine. Iran is testing his weapons in a real war, at the same time building a solid, strategic alliance with Russia, China, and India, an alliance worth trillions of dollars, as their trade and interconnectivity multiplies exponentially.
At the same time, in the background, while the war in Ukraine unfolds to a pace warmongers and X-Box wargamers are unhappy about, Quad+BRI+BRICS+EAEU+SCO take full advantage of the revolutionary moment, and build the foundations of the New World Order, the New Multi Polar World. Russia’s preparation for this military enterprise was done in parallel with the creation of multiple new institutions, and in conjunction with the main actors in the Quad+, reason Russia is in no rush to squash Ukraine to a pulp.
SMO is being useful in multiple forms, sizing up the enemy’s political/military force, their hardware/software, land forces, aerospace forces, C&C, training of NATO forces, plus Russia’s own forces, and what not, however, the war in Ukraine is only the tip of the iceberg of the transformation Russia and the Quad+ are engaged on. The revolutionary situation is moving the floor from under the Empire of Lies & Death, aiming to construct an international superstructure that will override and surpass the very institutions (IMF, World Bank, et al) through which the Collective West maintains its domination over Zone B.
And this is what makes the war in Ukraine utter dangerous.
The CW knows what is at stake, and their zealots, i.e. the zionazi neocons/neoliberals anglo-saxons on both sides of the mud pool might be willing to take this confrontation to limits unseen before. Their threat to flood Kherson an example of their scorched earth mindset, a dirty nuclear bomb is now a possibility, the clear and present danger has been elevated to a lethality that threatens the planet, not just Ukraine, Russia, or Europe.
As they see themselves losing the power to dominate, control, and exploit “lesser” countries, they will become ever more dangerous. For now, they are funneling billions to Ukraine, that might change for the worse once they find themselves losing a war that, in their mindsets, they cannot afford to lose. The aid figures to Ukraine Pepe provides set the context and the boundaries of the war, however, what this war really provides is the metrics of the real confrontation being fought globally, the geopolitical restructuring of the world’s institutions.
The world’s future hangs in the balance, being partly fought in the cold steppes of Ukraine. The main, political component of that struggle, is being fought in forums and meeting across Eurasia and beyond, the latest installment in Cambodia, Bali, and as we write in Bangkok, whose narrative Pepe’s acute perception generously shares with us.

PS: Sorry for those advocating for a “short war,” only as short as their vision. Or lack thereof.
Only the dead reap the rewards of eternal life gained in long wars. It wasn’t about parking lots, it was about train tracks.
Cheers M
Lost in the fantasy of de this and de that, a simple strategy favoring military victory over economic expediency would have saved countless lives. Look at the smash and bash taking place now…..lots of needless blood loss, the outcome when politicians are afforded the chance to prosecute war.
@ sean the leprechaun
You’re entitled to your opinion, wrong as it might be.
Your “size matters” moral relativity has no effect in war, in any war whatsoever.
Russia’s strategy so far has been to preserve man power, while, as it is the goal of any war, decimating the enemy forces, to such a point that entire units now can be heard talking only Polish. Russia’s deliberate pace, initially committing 10% of its forces to the SMO, was more of a reconnaissance-en-force than an invasion of Ukraine.
US/NATO reaction to Russia’s SMO, expected as it was, could have been ten times worse if Russia would have committed a large force. It was, as A. Martyanov defined it, a police-military operation. Russian forces are equipped, and trained, to function with enough man power to unleash overwhelming firepower on enemy forces.
It has been that firepower that broke the back of the Ukronazis, with five times the number of Russian troops. And they have taken your suggestion “favoring military victory over economic expediency,” committing thousands of men to be slaughtered for a PR point.
Your comment leads me to believe military matters are not your forte.

Unfortunately, the president of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, will maintain Mexico as a protectorate of the United States, since last August he stated that “…it is convenient for this country (Mexico) to remain in the USMCA”, and ruled out joining the BRICS. The geographical situation of Mexico and its history of dependence on the United States conditions Mexico for the future and distances it from the Global South.
https://heraldodemexico.com.mx/nacional/2022/8/3/amlo-descarta-tratado-comercial-de-mexico-con-el-brics-427387.html
Why rock the boat? He’s playing a deft hand. So far it seems to be working for Mexico. I believe Mexico still trades with BRICS countries more than the neutered Beaver to the north does.
Cheers M
Besides, Mexico shares its northern border with a State run by psychopaths. You gotta give Obrador his due.
Sadly I read all the final statement (OK I skimmed some parts of it). That point 3 should have been a “deal breaker” it’s disgraceful that it wasn’t. Most of the rest of it was just a pro-globalist agenda. Which should give us pause to ask why would Russia and China even sign such a report. It should be worrying that they did,it certainly was for me. Only a few of the 52 points should have been acceptable to anyone wanting a sovereign multipolar world. Which once again begs the question of way Russia and China would sign that.
Hello… What I am most concerned about, is the G-20’s sign off on a document which would mandate world-wide vaccination in the event of another pandemic. Even Lavrov, in his comments at his press conference (posted by the saker), says Russia is committed to the WHO and their guidelines on vaccinations, which ties into a digital-currency platform, etc. and domination of the world by these elitists and the NWO. I hope I am so wrong and that someone can clarify this for me. Thank you.
We think the economist, Dr. Michael Hudson says it best. What he is saying is, that the US is simply unable to change. With that mentality, here are some of the consequences:
“If Russias loses the $300 billion that was stolen, it will be a great victory for Russia. That’s because what America has said is that *no country’s savings in the United States are safe. Any country that denominated its trade in US dollars, any country that invests in the United States, if you don’t have your government follow American dictates, then we, the US, can simply grab your money -like we grabbed Russia’s money, Afghanistan’s money, Venezuela’s money*
So the act against Russia has been essentially the US destroying foreign faith in the US economy and the safety of the US government.
For the last 75 years, the US dollar and US Treasury Bills, loaned to the US government, bonds, have been the safest investment in the world.* Now they’re the most risk investment.* So what this means is that the American economy has decoupled itself from the Asian economy, from the Latin American and African economies.
And guess what…….just 2-3 days ago, China let go a large amount of Treasuries. Japan did likewise.
If that routine continues, the US will “be toast” in a few years.
I am more of the opinion that the US knows it is game over and all they can hope to salvage is UK/EU as part of their remaining domain. Thus, they are withdrawing from the rest of the world. Japan and S Korea are not defendable in an era of anti-ship missiles.
The days of living above their means by endless debt issuance is coming to an end. If you can redefine what poverty is, perhaps they can make things look better in an own nothing society.
But don’t tell the debt that, in the world of finance debt is still the king of the hill just as in the world of poverty, owning and caring of nothing means what ever it is that you destroy, is not yours, and you don’t even care.
It seems to me that someone is destroying the human race in order to save it from its self, I wonder who that is
Agree, Alabama. Debt for the Super Wealthy is a wonderful asset. They make billions of $$s off the majority of Americans.
“Debt for US citizens is the lynchpin by which they are sinking into poverty status. Approximate personal Debt in the US: $$15 billion.
Are controlled people, confused people?
The opposite of a confused person would be a person with a worldview that grasps reality. A controlled person has a worldview that others have given him with the aim of either exploiting him or exploiting others through him. The result of deceiving people is that they make an entity with contradictions, illusions and lies. Such people are automatons insofar as they spit out what certain circles have fed them through their media. However, they will feel confused only when there are causes that shake their ideas.
For the first time in its 7,000-year history, China is going to dictate the course of the world. They finally understood that for the world to respect you, you must be respectful to everyone, and you must also have a very, very powerful army so that the rest of the world does not forget to respect you.
Historical.
You might want to read up on the first Chinese international empire, around the 1400s, China, not Britannia, Ruled the Waves.
Are you sure ‘dictate’ is the word you want to use? Just pay ones ‘tribute’ to a different master? I’ll opt out, thanks, btw, same reason Russia fights the Hegemon, no one likes a dictator.
Cheers M

Its been a big week for international summits – East Asia Summit, G20, COP27 with another forum the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation, APEC (where the real trade deals & co-operation are nutted out) this week.
This is a brilliant summary from Pepe drawing together the loose threads and the onward & upward march of multipolarity.
As I remind Vineyard devotees (& Cafeistas) now a critical mass has been reached with the momentum to achieve the inevitable Eurasian integration & the expulsion of the Anglo-Americans from Afro-Eurasia, aka Halford Mackinder’s World Island.
Its an incredibly exciting period of world history to be alive!
Cheers to all!
I recommend this article to everyone.
Precisely Uncle Davy.
This is potentially the most important renaissance in the history of our species.
It is an enormous privilege to be alive to witness this change and for each of us to have the opportunity to play our part in helping mankind transition to this completely new reality of a cooperative multipolarity which could dramatically benefit all sectors of society.
This has been my greatest wish on my bucket list… to see the complete demise of this parasitic global banking cabal that has bled humanity for centuries. Those of us that have helped shine the light can hold our heads high knowing that we helped in this vital defeat.
I always come back to Ross Ashcroft’s famous words…
“To really understand something is to be liberated from it. Humanity’s greatest ally is the self-educated individual, who has read, understood, delays their gratification, and walks around with their eyes wide open.”
And of course Leonard Cohen…
“Ring the bells that still can ring
Forget your perfect offering
There is a crack, a crack in everything
That’s how the light gets in.”
We all need to celebrate and promote the tremendous momentum of the combined BRIICS+++ initiatives. In NZ the MSM is doing everything they possibly can to hide this progress and more than 90% of Kiwis are completely unaware of the progress of what has become a financial juggernaut.
I believe we also need to shine the light on what is happening in Brazil too, which is a very important component of this transition. I am hoping that Pepe can keep us up with the play here.
My 2 cents worth is that Lula has challenged the banking cabal just as aggressively as Colonel Gadafi did. Of course, his demonisation by the West led to his murder and the ruination of what was the most progressive economy on the African continent… I am absolutely certain they have the same plan in mind for Lula.
Lula has been on this dangerous journey now for at least 20 years. His vision of keeping publically owned assets and utilities out of the hands of pillaging global corporations is self-evidence as to where his heart lies. This situation is now at an absolutely critical stage, and could well prove to be existential for both Lula and his initiatives.
The fact that he wanted to create a cooperative group of Latin American countries using a new currency called the “south”, in tandem with a regional central bank that would bypass and disenfranchise the old Zone A thieves, places him in enormous danger.
Venezuela’s Maduro, as part of the Sao Paulo Forum working group, is also pushing for an integrated currency system for Latin America and the Caribbean.
No wonder the hegemon has been trying to bump him off.
All in all, there is a lot of momentum going on in Latin America to evict Uncle $am from this huge sandpit. We all need to deploy our eyes and ears as much as we possibly can in order to help highlight the completely ruthless and predatory nature of the financial and military hegemon.
Cheers
Col
Yeah but always remember the system can remain irrational longer than you can remain solvent.
I am a brazilian who just voted for Lula (actually this is the fifth time I voted for him). Believe me, Lula is in no danger whatsoever. He is a moderate man who believes in political agreements and compromise, and above all he understands the limits he faces. Brazil’s military are the most corrupt and treacherous organization, and fully aligned with the US. They not only believe in their duty as a “moderator power” in Brazil’s politics, but they state that openly (of course omitting their allegiance to a foreign state). Also the higher courts of the judiciary, composed by politically appointed judges, form a sort of “brazilian deep state”, always ready to rule in favor of centuries old oligarchies. Therefore, no revolution in sight merely because the US does not need it, for they already have the military and the judges in their pocket.
After Mao’s Great Leap off the Cliff & Cultural Revolution nearly destroyed China, what were the odds against a humble man from Sichuan, Deng Xiaoping, stepping up to modernize China in 25 years, thus cementing China’s stature in the modern world?
At the same time, Reagan & Thatcher, both of humble origin, had the opportunity to build a consensus for a similar vision, but chose to be the torch-carriers for Corporate Fascism instead..
It’s strange how this is playing out, and which vision the 85% of the world is believing in..
Great thoughts from you and Pepe..
That Canada and its ineffectual leader Just Trudeau remains a member attests to its utter irrelevance of the G-7. The only good coming from Canada’s continued involvement are the comic moments that emerge when Trudeau is either snubbed outright by a real global leader or dressed down like the child that he is like Xi provided just this week. Hilarious!
We fully agree.
Thanks for posting this excellent article by Pepe Escobar. Like so many people in the Zone B, happy to see a New World Order is slowly but surely emerging. However when one comes to think about it, lot more need to be done for the new system to become a reality. We also expect WEF globalists try prevent it from happening. One of the most effective tools in the hands of the Anglozionist bankers – holding the world hostage these days – is their cunning ability to bribe top officials, figures – government and private business alike – in almost all countries of the world, hence enabling the so-called globalists circumvent regional rules and regulations forcing them to stick with and in need of the US dollar for their day-to-day affairs. The big problem with a new BRICKS+ reserve currency would be its transparency that will certainly follow strict rules which make it very unattractive for the Zone-B and even Zone-A, mostly bored and potentially very corrupt technocrats. What makes the American $ bribery system so eye-catching and exhilarating is its tax free / anonymous status. A local technocrat who joins the current US$ global racket would get to maintain his/her elitist status in secret and end up enjoying life without paying taxes. Most elites – the world over – send their families to live in the west and hold the bulk of their wealth in western banks. The very big elites have their wealth in a Swiss Bank or UK/US run offshore centers. On the news we hear there’s now a big scandal involving the US and Ukrainian governments’ officials diverting most of the 90 billion dollars of aid to Ukraine for its war with Russia, into their personal accounts using the FTX company in the process. Wonder if this can go on longer.
With all the talk about BRICS, I am always wondering where Brazil really stands. Under Bolsonaro, they were more interested in kissing the arse of The Donald and the US. I hope their new president can steer them toward more involvement in BRICS so we don’t have to change the acronym. RICS sounds like a disease.
It’s ironic, when you talk to leaders of countries like China, Russia, Turkey, Iran, Saudi, you know they’re authority, a yes is a yes and a no, no. These are not even shouting out loud to be the leaders of the world.
But the shouting contest winners have no one to put forward. You talk to their leaders and you feel like you’re talking to employees of big corp and little poodles of big buck.
And what’s the response you get when you confront them about having no authority? That “we’re a country that believe in free speech”! These idiots don’t even blink when their hypocrisy is under spotlight.
Terrific piece. No doubt, the blood pressure of the collective west, ‘led’ by the Empire of Chaos continues going up as the Russia-China-Iran axis continues solidifying and the BRICS bloc and Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) expands. As you correctly state ‘the recent record shows Xi has few reasons to take Biden at face value’.
Biden’s behavior regarding Taiwan suggests the US has already abandoned the “One China’ policy. Biden wants to use Taiwan as a staging ground for attacking China. Biden has no intention of stopping arms shipments to Ukraine; he wants regime change in Russia. Indicative of how reckless US foreign policy has become is the deliberate sabotaging of energy infrastructure (NS1 and NS2) supplying natural gas to an ‘ally’. In reality, Empires do not have ‘allies’, they only have subordinates. Check out the last 5 minutes of this episode of CrossTalk.

The two most important aspects to understand from this decadent summit, are: Putin did not atend and Lavrov left early. This G20 cabal looks increasingly more irrelevant, as their master’s decline is irreversible. My only hope is that prof Hudson is wrong, and I get to see the empire’s final demise in less than 25 years time. I shall throw the party of a lifetime and die gladfully afterwards.
A new order is really being formed, for God’s sake. I am very optimistic about this enlace of new forces, changing the deadly path dictated by the imperialist west.
