Why does Russia keep telling us what a few Americans in Syria will allow,Russia and Syria should just take that aid to the area and if they have to use force.
They have tried. Iranian militia and Syrian troop were bombed and convoys stopped last year several times.

So, the Russians don’t want their MPs, special forces and humanitarian-medical experts to be blown away.

Turkey agreed to impose and enforce a DEZ. They barely have posts at key positions. Erdogan has failed.

Given that, and Israeli tribalism, I conclude that the IL-20 was destroyed to protect the secrecy of IDF operations. Not proxies. Why risk Jewish lives for mercenaries who had already been largely defeated? The most likely operations at risk were in Idlib. I would conclude that Israel is operating substantial IDF and Mossad assets in Idlib.
