Europe has made it publicly clear that it intends to be 100% independent of Russian oil and gas within 3 years, and in the meantime intends to cap the price of Russian oil at half its current price. So why is the Kremlin continuing to supply Europe with energy, without which European industry simply must close down, when Europe intends to punish Russia by spurning her energy while cutting its price? Has it not yet occurred to the Kremlin that it is the energy that the Kremlin is supplying to Europe that is making it possible for Europe to flood Ukraine with weapons? The Kremlin’s policy seems designed to demoralize Russia’s armed forces.
Why hasn’t the Kremlin terminated all energy flows to Europe? Why does the Kremlin sell the West the energy with which to carry on its war with Russia? Why doesn’t Russia do it? Europe would immediately and totally collapse. The conflict in Ukraine would instantly end. The Kremlin could tell the Europeans that energy would reappear when Europe exits NATO. As I have previously written, the Kremlin holds all the cards but is not competent to play them.
What explains this stupidity? Russian soldiers are dying and the Kremlin is supplying the enemy with energy. I believe that the problem is that the Kremlin has a mystical belief in legalism. The Kremlin, playing goody two shoes, is trying to impress the West by showing how Russia, unlike the West, respects contracts and agreements with her enemies even when she is at war with them. It is extraordinary that the Kremlin thinks this makes any impression on the West other than a demonstration of Russian stupidity and weakness.

As Marx said: a social class is defined when a group identifies itself with its objective conditions and operates accordingly. In fact, by identifying itself as a social class, the group acquires awareness of its real conditions (above fantasies of its opponent’s propaganda) and opts for resolutions that support its own interests.
The problem is that, brainwashed by the propaganda of the western elite, the EU members choses representatives who dream about being ‘west’, about being part of the ‘rich men’s dream’, ignoring the fact that resources are scarce and cooperation and sharing is the only wise way of making use of them. Because if Russia starts using energy as a weapon, it would be the same as the collective west using the financial system as a club, which they have, and for which they will pay in one form or another.
Also, right now oil is sold at normal prices, the so called cap is just a possibility and a pipe dream at best. If the EU people go full stupid and try to enforce it, then Russia can say no normal price, no oil, but not before.
The anything for rubles is much more efficient as a strategy, and a much smarter one also. In a war soldiers die, on both sides, that is a sad reality, you don’t want dead soldiers, don’t go to war. Stopping oil would not stop the war, and doing it this way would hurt Russia more than it would gain short term.
Russia holds all the cards, Europe holds none right now.
Russia is willing to still supply Western Europe because in a few years time it will have freed itself from being Uncle Sam’s vassal. Lisbon to Vladivostok will come but before that we will have to endure hard times.

Cutting off energy would be a short-term gain. But long-term, reputation (to other markets) as a reliable energy partner would be damaged.
I certainly have no idea of how the Kremlin thinks, but i feel that PCR’s mind frame is too american.
I live in Sweeden and this conflict fell on me while i was busy following other topics (elections in France, among others). I therefore needed time to try and sort out what was happening, and why.
Instead, allmost everybody immediately condemmed Russia, based on the usual sentimental crap, instead of analysis.
Being retired, i have time to read but i am still exploring different aspects of this multilayed problem, and i am far from a personal opinion on geopolitics, links with COVID-1984, 9/11/2001, 9/11/1973, “vaccine”-death, etc.
I could not have spent that much time trying to educate myself if i had been working, while having a time consuming hobby, as most citizens do.
Therefore i think that it is wise to let the European commoners get out of the shock phase and collect themselves before any more heavy stuff falls on us. Our goverments have allready been messing upp things quite well by themselves, there is no need just now for more harm.
Besides, it would be self-defeating in the long term to alienate us commoners more than what the propaganda achieves.

Quite another thing is that cutting deliveries to Europe without having alternative customers would not only mean a loss of revenue but risk costly lengthy legal battles. Letting Z to cut the flow through Lugansk means he bears the legal risks, and that he can be sued later on.

If i have read Jorge Vilches right, it is not advisable to shut out wells.
It means that Russia had to find alternative customers before cutting flows to Europe. These new customers in turn needed time to check their facilities’ compatibilities, adjust their contracts, reshape their logistics and probably work on some other changes. Russia’s oil sales and production dipped when the West shunned it’s oil, and went upp again when the usual embargo-beating tricks came on line. Then China and India came in for big volumes and i guess that no wells are going to get shut (especially as Shaklin-1 went down when Shell and another Western partner quit) because the OPEC+ is underperforming (not being able or not willing, i do not know) and demand has to be met, one way or other.

Problem with PCR’s mindset is that there are no nuances.
He’s a man of the establishment that “rebelled” against it, and ever since he’s been fighting as a one-man army against all sort of evils, like a Don Quixote without a Sancho Panza. No doubt he knows the establishment, and his opinion is relevant because it is based on personal experience. His questions re: Russia’s confrontation with the West, though logical, lack a deeper understanding of Russia’s long term strategy.
Don’t get me wrong, PCR is a force to reckon with, his opinion should be respected, his ideas carefully examined, his questions pondered upon. At the same time, we have to be aware of his main weakness, which is holding a fixed mindset from which he processes and analyzes sundry subjects. PCR’s ethics permeates his political views, and many a times his thought process suffers a reduction to a common denominator.
In the case at hand, his questions make a lot of sense at first sight, but we have to remember that Russia’s intention is not to destroy Europe, or to cause more suffering on Europeans than their own ruling classes are subjecting them to. Russia is building a new world based on a different set of values, and PCR’s view is that Russia should use the same values of the establishment he knows so well, in order to succeed against them.
Russia’s strategy will be victorious, first because it is THEIR STRATEGY; second, because it is built on a new vision of socio-economical, political, and human relations; third, because they have no intentions to trample anyone while unfolding this vision. They will go by the book, they have contracts, those contracts will be respected, the war has nothing to do with it. The war is the war, and Russia has absolute certainty the West lost the war the moment Russia was forced to launch the SMO. Putin asserted that a couple of days ago.
PCR is a very good man, God bless him, unfortunately he’s trying to project his reductionist mindset to a complex reality, applying the same values against which he rebelled.

Never heard of such attack profile. It sounds then more like the SSL configuration at your end is vulnerable or targetted. The reason to have https on any site is how it prevents easy interception and monitoring at ISP level or beyond. Or in other words, it’s now easer to insert bad elements for the visitors without any alert, even when just browsing here. This should be not dismissed as a very real possibility or even intentional strategy. Keep your visitors safe! Good luck with fixing this.

I respectfully disagree with your opinion.
It will not be a short war by any means. Russia’s SMO quickly turned into a war of attrition in all sense of the word, in which the West is using all their power to break Russia, once and for all. This is a civilizational confrontation between two giants where Ukraine is only a bridgehead, the unlucky battlefield, for now. The coming battles in Donetsk will speak volumes about the extension of the war in time and space.
LPR’s Leonid Pasechnik already decided Lugansk needs a 300 kms safe zone beyond the administrative border with Ukraine. Donetsk, after the criminal experience is now suffering with the non-stop shelling of civilians, will demand the same. Both Pasechnik and DPR’s Pushilin are talking about the continuation of the war to the total extension of Ukraine.
UK is already training 10,000 Ukrainians, and planning on a six-months cycle of training that will continue indefinitely as long as Ukraine can provide cannon fodder. There are thousands of mercenaries from at least 30 countries, and counting, incorporated into the UkroWerhmacht, and the flow of weapons to Ukraine continues non-stop. Russia has already acknowledged they are fighting a non-declared war against the Collective West, and both Russia and the West are using Ukraine to test their new weaponry.
The war in Ukraine proper might go on for 3 to 5 years, while the danger of extending the war beyond Ukraine’s borders is permanent. The Collective West aim is to push Russia to the brink, without pushing so much that the war expands out of current bounds, or blows into a nuclear conflagration. They are giving Ukraine HIMARS MLRS, but refusing to provide them with Patriot systems because they will have to be manned by US soldiers.
Ukraine’s assigned role by the Collective West, is to become Europe’s second Afghanistan for Russia, in the meantime Europe is already cracking under the law of unintended consequences, the longer the “second Afghanistan” goes, the worse it would be for them, and on a cynical turn around, the better it would be for Russia.
Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council head, Oleksiy Danilov, recently declared the war will not be short, expressing the plans for the conflict from his masters. We all know the end result for this conflict was decided long ago, however, both for the Collective West and for Russia, this is an existential battle, and the West will not stop until Russia teaches them, again, a historical lesson, for which Putin has no schedule.
No, it will not be short.
It will last the time needed to achieve Russia’s objectives.

I agree with your premise of a “civilizational confrontation” between two forces.
Resource wars, this time, bought on by a failed Western debt-based monetary and fiscal policy. Nations and tribes always fought over territory especially if resources meant the difference between life and death. The power comes from control of resources. Wealth of nature’s bounty. Wealth of monetary metals, time-tested over millennia. That’s my rather crude reductionist theory of organised human societies, but always reverting to the mean: barbarians. Well, maybe only in the West!
And yes, if there is any “schedule” it’s on Russia’s terms. China may step up it’s planned invasion of Taiwan because of Western political chaos and failing currencies. Payback time.
The determination of the Eurozone leaders to deliberately self destruct their own countries is self evident and using Russia as the scapegoat to hurt themselves is beyond imagination.

The EU and the Euro is a competitor with the US and it’s dollar. It may buy a few more months at best. I’m tipping the Euro will be the first to go. Then there’s the China-sees-China-does plan. China sees Russia draw a red line which the U.S. crossed. China has a red line in relation to Taiwan. The U.S. is about to cross it.
China wants to act to seize control of Taiwan before Joe Biden gets thrown out. Trump might not be so easy as Joe to handle. The already weak U.S. couldn’t deal with another war front opening up in the Pacific, with Taiwan being swallowed up by China, so it needs to happen before the November mid-terms.
With precious metals and commodities linked to the BRICS basket of currencies to be used in trade within the member countries and those friendly to Russia, it’s a step toward the disintegration of the paper derivatives market used by the US and the US to squash the price of gold and silver. A high price means the USD is losing value against these two monetary metals. They wouldn’t want you to know that. They want you to keep using their fiat currencies because those who control the supply of money make the rules.

Lone Wolf, I have read “some” history but I´m no historian and can follow military argumentation, but I´m also no military expert. Still, from my down-to-earth perspective, common sense rules and starving and freezing to death defies common sense. This will happen soon. Current cheap politicking stops right at the physical limit which “light” and uncommitted consumer economies cannot cross. Public opinion goes along pretty much with “whatever” as long as the political class does not cross compromise its livelihood and well-being. Come 2023 — or even before that — the imposed “Russian sanctions” are actually tremendous unbearable sanctions on the EU. So such limits will soon be crossed — winter is coming — and without Russian energy, Russian food, and Russian produce at large quite simply the EU cannot survive. Then it´d be Europeans themselves who would surrender making this war short, not anyone else, and that would be the end of Anglo-Saxon and EU-leadership intentions, plans, supplies, mercenaries and “Ukrainian cannon fodder” + “assigned roles” and declarations from important people. No European support would necessarily and instantly mean the end of the Ukraine war. Russia would win by default.

I agree, and such renewed historical lesson would be freezing and starving to death come 2023. Never in its history have Europeans depended so much strictly from Russian produce that very simply cannot stop coming in. Now it´d be all the 800 million Europeans with massive migrations democratically spread out everywhere.

And when these conditions are present, Europe will explode – there is no better term to define what will happen, as there is yet no ‘programme’ for a revolution; but, it doesn’t really matter: the chains that tie people to the present conditions will be broken.

It was not Marshal Winter who defeated the Nazi invaders, but rather the fighting ability of the Red Army backed by the tenacity of the Russian civilian population.
Although Stalingrad (in the winter of 1942/1943 ) was a turning point, it was in the Battle of Kursk (in the summer of 1943) that the offensive capability of the Wehrmacht was destroyed, beginning an unbroken retreat until the red flag waves high above the Reichstag.
Nor now will Marshal Winter be the deciding factor.
For Imperium, Europe is as disposable as the last Ukrainian. There is no national sovereignty left in Europe. They are nothing but colonies, with no effective decision-making power.
Economic deterioration will lead to social instability in Europe. Imperium will channel the revolt to further accentuate anti-Russian sentiment, making the clamor of the streets demand direct NATO intervention.
In Russia, more and more the economic interests of big business will force an agreement.
Of course, no agreement will be kept, as already happened with Minsk I and II.
Sooner or later still, the war will continue. There can only be one winner, Russia. Or everyone will be defeated.

I agree that ‘Marshal Winter’ has not been the deciding factor for the Red Army victories before, and Jorge Vilches certainly did not mean that it has been. Without the Red Army, nothing can possibly happen to lead Russia to a victory. Troups need to be well trained, well equiped, strategically and logistically well supported, and determined to fight for victory. Every soldier’s moral determination is also a fundamental motivation to fight for winning — they fight for their motherland, the only justified reason for fighting at this time in history. So, they are at the right side of history, too, and the whole of humanity needs them to win.
To the Red Army I say: Go ahead! The victory is yours!

It’s not possible to know when cooler heads shall prevail, but there’s still a chance that by the end of August the war will basically end through negotiations based on current realities:
– The stated goal of pres. Biden is to end it by negotiations.
He stated that the goal is to achieve a stalemate to negotiate from a position of strength. This is a fallback position only. It reflects a process, which has already started, of coming to grips with the reality that Ukraine cannot defeat Russia. So, they concluded that an end of the war through a negotiation is indispensable (so that Ukraine survives as a State is an idea not far from that, and will emerge in full sooner or later if not there already).
-The goal is not to fight it to the last Ukrainian – that was never really it.
The clarity as to the stated goal is something new and different from the initial (emotional) expectation that Ukraine might be able to defeat Russia.
– A cooler perspective is already prevailing by degrees on the Western side, but not on the Ukrainian side (yet one more sign that they are not puppets of anyone).
– These factors may mean the war lasts a long time, but not for years. If it took Germany about seven months, it won’t take Russia years. It’s a matter of months.
– If cooler heads don’t prevail in time, Ukraine could be losing its statehood. Putin said twice that Ukraine might lose its statehood in war (once before the war, once after). It is likely that he’ll say it again. It’s in harmony with his February 24/25 speech in which he recounted the history of the territory of “historical Russia.” If it does not end through a negotiated solution and Russia is forced to carry on until it ends in victory, Putin would have to take all of it in harmony with the meaning of his own speech(es). Otherwise, he would become a “to the victor belong the spoils” kind of guy, but he has already told us how he sees Ukraine (historical Russia), so he would lose his own SMO announcement rationales if after winning a war he allows a ‘rump state’ to exist.

I recall reading at jimstone.is years ago that https should be avoided – it is coded/implemented/designed in such a way that total censorship of your site is very easy. Best to avoid it completely and stick with http.

I thought of calling the attention to Zelensky’s major rebuilding efforts the other day by linking his speech about rebuilding. Rep. Startz thinks they are out of place too. Those efforts show that Zelensky is worried about his own political standing and is aware that many Ukrainians wish he weren’t there (his rebuilding announcements don’t help any…).
“‘It’s not a rebuilding mode right now. [The] country [is] in the middle of a major war. And you have to treat it as the war. You cannot have life as usual, unfortunately, or you have it a very long time, and it’s going to be very bad,’ Spartz said.”
She also asked for “auditing” of the money being sent. I believe she is the first one to say a word about that.

Remain vigilant. It is not ukronatsis but US state actors that attack. Remember what Snowden told us….about US tools mimicking signature of other countries.
