Next, the British are obsessed with all things Russian. Putin could trick them into invading London and bombing the hell out of Liverpool. They are psychotic about Russia. Self-destructive.
Libya has been asking for Russian help with AQ forces for more than one year.
Putin has been very careful to avoid being snared in the chaos of Western players, AQ and the basic tribalism of Libya. Haftar might make a deal with Ghadaffi’s son. That would be for political power combined with Haftar’s military, backed by Egypt and Russia. So, sending trainers to upgrade the military is crucial. Russia is obviously interested long term in the oil future of Libya. But most of all, killing terrorists is the main goal. Egypt has the same problem, so all the military experience gained in Syria behooves the Russians to assist both Egypt and Haftar.
Naturally, the British twits will have none of this. After all, AQ are Western proxies. And Libyan oil is the treasure the US and Britain want.
The move by Putin and the MOD is geopolitical. The eastern half of North Africa will soon be like Syria, a region of Russian influence, Russian weapons, Russian oil expertise and a sector of the globe lost by the Hegemon and the Anglo vassals.
I was going to add the other major reason for the destruction and the war in Libya was water.
I note the article you have attached dealt with this point in some detail. There are huge underwater reservoirs in Libya that Col. Gadaffi had developed.
The Brits and Co. went in full throttle into Libya including the murder of its head of state to take all these natural resources/treasures.
They don’t want the Russians involved but as a member of the security council – there is nothing they can do and hence all these “vicious games” discrediting Russia at all levels in many organisations. The Egyptian President is currently in Russia………take from that what you will in regard to Libya.
Well, actually who controls Libya control European energy and mass migration flows. There are 2 big Oil companies (ENI and BP Oil) that controls the majority of oil fields in northern Libya, under Al Sarraj government.
On 12th-13th of November there will be an important summit in Italy (Palermo city) where both Russia and USA are invited to discuss about the Libyan conflict and find a solution, since Italian oil and migration problems all came from Libya.
From current news it seems that Italy is looking for Russia help, so this explain why the British are scared: they fear to lose their control over Europe. UK are preparing this military move trying to stop Haftar advance to Tripoli and any Russian help in the region.
I am interested in getting some opinions on a potential scenario: A nuclear strike by Russia on the City of London and the UK political leadership. First, would retaliatory UK strikes with Trident against Russia have any effect given Russia has the S-500 missile defence system (ie 1980s UK technology vs 21st century Russian technology). Second, would Trump really escalate and authorise a nuclear retaliation against Russia, thus condemning the USA to nuclear incineration, all for the sake of avenging idiots like PM Theresa May? After 60 years is NATO unity all just mere bluster?
Russia has kinetic non-nuclear weapons that are almost equal to some of their nukes. They would use them in the fictional scenario you present. Putin has already spoken about this tactic available to MOD.
London’s Freakshow (UK government) knows it has 30 minutes life expectancy if it starts something with Russia. It’s military would last 20 minutes and the last 10 would be the purgatory of flight time of incoming before they were blown to Hell.
It’s all fiction. Nothing is going to happen at that scale. The US has the exact same problem. They cannot win, no matter how they game their war models. Nothing survives if Russia says goodbye. Even the psychotics in State and CIA and Pentagon understand that the North American continent will cease to be in the same configuration of topography if there is a war touching Russia. It’s not about flattening what is atop the land mass, knocking down cities. It’s about carving the very continent and hollowing the land mass. Red ants and roaches will be the only survivors.
I agree with this comment (non-resident of UK though.) On the other hand, the UK is not Saudi Arabia. They must have some confidence in possibility of succeeding, or they wouldn’t do this. The City of London is still globally powerful for a reason, I assume?
Yes, finance. But remember: although the City of London belongs to the Rothschilds and is independent of London, striking only The City would be enough to put an end to the UK… and probably to the financial system as we know it.
Given the amount of influence and control the City has over the entire globe, wouldn’t somebody attempt to destroy them by now, to shift the balance of power, if it was that easy? This makes me wonder if the City of London IS capable of defending itself militarily (Even if such protection would not extend to the servants and the commoners.) Does anyone have any info on military protection for the City of London? Would it be private contractors or through the state military? With all the hybrid war scenarios, why doesn’t anyone attempt to use hard force to just overthrow the City?
‘why doesn’t anyone attempt to use hard force to just overthrow the City?’
There is the vaunted ‘ring of steel’ surrounding the City but obliterating the material structures would be a bit pointless, a big spectacular and then business as usual after a short pause.
‘The City’ exists in a far more potent form as an idea in ALL our heads than as the square mile of real estate it occupies in reality. That doesn’t make the idea unreal, BTW, just not so easily disposed of or superceded.
A far better idea than annihilation is what Mr P and Mr Xi are currently working towards—making the old system irrelevant and eventually redundant.
From 2016…perhaps they are finally making up their mind to pretend to act….as funding formerly going to Syria can now go to this….white helmets need another cause….uk minister of defence is desparately trying to plug a 20b hole in his budget and needs a cause..
Extract “…..Western nations, which are considering an armed intervention in Libya to counter the threat from the Islamic State, is aware of the explosive nature of the Isis threat in Libya because of the added sub-Saharan dimension.
“Libya has become a magnet for individuals not only inside of Libya, but from the African continent as well as from outside,” John O. Brennan, the director of the CIA., told a Senate panel in February, according to the New York Times…
OK, watching events in Libya has made me a fully paid-up subscriber to the adage that “Politics is the art of the possible” or, to borrow a phrase from those witty authors, Ghassan and Itbah Kadi (The Khashoggi Extortion Fiasco), “In the world of politics, pigs do fly”.
The Virginian, Khalifa Haftar, is working with the Russians and Saif al-Islam, the son of the man he helped overthrow, against forces backed by his buddies back home in Washington DC. And by most accounts, he is winning. Mind boggling turn of events.
But does it mean that the British are preparing to forestall a Haftar victory by sending in their forces into Libya? I don’t think so, although it is a bit odd that they would want to exercise with the Omanis 17 years after the second exercise in the series was last held. If FUKUS wanted to prevent a collapse of their friends, they’d probably bomb the place, just like they did when they created the failed state of Libya in the first place.
There’s nothing unusual coming out of Oman but something could be brewing there. They are, after all, neighbours of Yemen and things could spill over although the war is already four years old and nothing of that sort’s happened. Also the Sultan is getting on and has no heir. It could be that he wants to ensure an orderly transition after he passes on. I’ve read that there’s also a separate public order exercise involving Omani military and civilian agencies in conjunction with the British exercise. Most likely, I think, the British are taking the opportunity to give their men some practice in logistics and desert warfare which may be handy in the near future, and at the same time to also send a signal. The target audience? Iran.
The anti-Russia rhetoric accompanying the exercise is for domestic consumption. They’ve got to keep the Russian bogeyman in the public’s mind since their politicians have declared Russia as enemy No 1. So anything that can demonise Russia and paint it as a threat to the British way of life can and will be used against it, even a Russian plane flying 1000 km off the British coast as happened not so long ago.
Very close to my thoughts on this news. The Maybot is so mired in the Brexit cluster…k and barely in control of her party that I can’t see her going to war against a paper bag, let alone against a more powerful military machine.
I’m guessing that this is a brainwave from the fireplace salesman, Gareth Someone (“Russia should just shut up and go away”) who is desperate to get his hands on some billions for the military estate as that will give him some boost in the masculinity stakes (in his own mind if nowhere else).
Oman is interesting as there are very close historical ties still. Many British military officers were seconded to serve the Sultan over the years (while still retaining Crown loyalties) and Oman is still considered ‘ours’ by the old guard due to residual influence there. Its a bit of a revolving door for some.
I live in London and don’t worry about us being vapourised anytime soon. If it happens, so be it. But it would make more sense to invade and loot the place first. We are sort of used to that.
So the Royal Navy is contributing six ships to those exercises in Oman. That’s all of them, isn’t it? So who’s going to protect us if the French decide on a snap invasion?
I think the protection angle has been outsourced, like everything else, to G4S, who are doing such a sterling (and vastly expensive) job on prisons, the Olympic security and anything else the current government cannot be bothered to concern itself with.
If there is an evil plot being hatched in this world, we can be sure Britain is an intimate part of it and is not working alone. The old empire has not died and gone away. When I think of Britain (and my ancestors left there in the mid 1800’s.) I see a fountain head of evil. If you want to know about evils such as mind control, human experimentation, eugenics, propaganda etc. look no further than Britain. The aged empire simply handed off and taught her evil tricks to her much younger daughter, the U.S. They work as a crime family. London still is a major hub for the international banking cabal who are a main player in world hegemony. The idea for the creation of the C.I.A. came from the Brits after all. When any of these players are involved on the world stage it is never for good. Look what they did to Libya! The crown jewel of Africa, life there, from all I’ve read was far beyond anything we find in the west as far as the government really caring for their people. This prosperity could have spread to the rest of the continent without western meddling. It is all so disgustingly evil.
I have no doubt at all there are conspiracies being hatched and Britain is in the thick of it along with her young daughter and their vassals. They have an immediate target and that would be Iran. If they are unable to finish the destruction of Syria they may try another route to get to Iran. They also want to force Russia and China out of any country they are involved with and this could easily lead to catastrophe. But when that nation and her daughter have been the bullies of the planet for so long, perhaps they have come to view themselves as invincible.
Kidding, right? UK couldn’t fight its way out of a wet paper bag. Only reason they have armed forces at all is because Murkans own the place and those are their orders.
I believe Craig is quite accurate in his reading of how the evil British are quietly running their American empire on behalf of the global finance power, which is still centered on London to a very large extent. Far more than is widely known. As far as I can see America is not at all autonomous. It is a servant of English and Zionist money power. But even more their well established traditions of political control. But now they know they have lost in the middle east and they are trying as hard as they can to not take their defeat lying down. These evil retards are trying to create more conflict and retain their insane domination game. But they are about to be broken before they can do any more serious harm. The money game is right on the cusp of breaking. The living earth has more power than these egomaniacs are capable of understanding.
More like, the British will try to hide behind the skirts of their assorted terrorist assets (like the Libyan Islamic Fighting Group) as well as their American Overlord… I mean democratic American ally… to “fight Russia.”
Some thoughts from a UK resident…..left hand side. British troops in Oman is more likely pre-positioning for an Iranian party than anything else. That is, if we are stupid enough to get involved in it. The British Army was exhausted by its deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan and the after effects are still working through the country. The town where I live has dozens of homeless living on the streets who are actually former services personnel who served in both places, and this is not the only place in the UK with this human problem. The UK army is probably about 80,000 strong and has recruitment problems, as do the Navy and Air Force. Bottom line is that we would hardly be able to mount a credible defence of the UK given the numbers and state of equipment, without indulging imperial fantasies elsewhere in the ME. UK special ops did not come off well in Syria (apparently) and are still sore about it….perhaps that is driving the Russophobic ramblings we keep hearing?
When you see the vapid posturings and incompetence surrouding the Brexit imbroglio, do you seriously think such people are keeping Putin awake at night?….the ruling Tory party is ritually disembowelling itself for all to see and the devolved regions of Scotland and Northern Ireland are spitting blood as they voted to stay in the EU. In the event of a ‘no-deal Brexit’ the armed forces we do have may be required back home to assist the civil power.
Mr and Mrs Average Brit are more worried about keeping a roof over their heads post-Brexit than getting involved in another post-imperial adventure abroad, although admittedly they don’t get much of a say in that decision. They do, however, get a vote in a general election, and the last great plebiscite over Brexit gave the political class an outcome they didn’t want. Expect more surprises and a Corbyn government in the next six months, foreign wars will be right off the table if that happens…..
Emmanual, I quote you “Mr and Mrs Average Brit are more worried about keeping a roof over their heads post-Brexit”.
What you just said is exactly the same everyone in Europe is told, and I repeat “the World is going to collapse if we Exit EU”.
This is the general BS, the public is fed.
Read my lips, or my writing if you like “Nobody will collapse”
The EU is nothing more than what some people tried to create number of times in the last 300 years. The people lived just fine with their own money and economy and without Globalism. People do not need “We are the World” Communist BS.
As a Brit who, until recently, served in HM British Army, I can tell you the state of our soldiering is verging on chaos. Recruitment and retainment of soldiers is at its lowest point in three hundred years while the age of the average serving infantryman is 19. The UK is well known for sending teenagers into battle, something its been doing since the Charge of the Light Brigade, the Battle of Rorke’s Drift and Verdun.
Six out of every ten new recruits leave the Army within two years while Commissioned officers who are within a decade of retirement are given huge tax free lump sums of money as a ‘sweetener’ to defer their retirement due to the huge shortfall in newly trained officers coming up the line.
Rates of suicides, domestic abuse, homelessness, joblessness and mental trauma amongst former UK soldiers are at record levels in the UK but you won’t hear a peep out of our national media about it.
These men are discarded and forgotten.
Our Army is just an illusion, a shadow of its former power. This group of ‘no-hopers’ is seduced with TV commercials depicting travel, education hope, opportunity and idea they can ‘do some good’ in the world.
Its a sham. And this is why so many of them bail out of the Army once they realised they been conned into becoming cannon fodder.
If they do end up facing Russian backed and trained forces in Libya then god help them.
Libya is a long way from the U.K., there will be no one to rescue them this time. This is not going to be Dunkirk.
