Hillary Clinton, of course, received the Democratic Party nomination in 2016 and was widely expected to beat Trump but she lost to him (though she won California by 4,269,978 in the popular vote, and so beat Trump by 2,864,974 in the nationwide popular vote, while she lost all other states by 1,405,002 votes, and so she would have been California’s President if she had won, but the rest of the nation wouldn’t have been happy).
Among the top reasons why Democrats in primaries and caucuses voted for Clinton was that they thought she would have a higher likelihood of beating the Republican nominee than Sanders did. This was the impression that the Democratic National Committee spread, and the Party’s voters believed in it. However, by the time when Election Day rolled around, the passion that Republicans felt for their nominee, Trump, was much stronger than was the passion that Democrats felt for their nominee, Clinton. During the Democratic primaries, polls were showing that the Democrats who were voting for Sanders to become their Party’s nominee were far more passionate in their support of him than was the case regarding the Democrats who were voting for Clinton to become the Democratic nominee. And nobody questions that Trump was the passion-candidate in the Republican Party’s primaries and caucuses.
On 1 May 2017, McClatchy newspapers headlined “Democrats say they now know exactly why Clinton lost” and reported that,
A select group of top Democratic Party strategists have used new data about last year’s presidential election to reach a startling conclusion about why Hillary Clinton lost. Now they just need to persuade the rest of the party they’re right.
Many Democrats have a shorthand explanation for Clinton’s defeat: Her base didn’t turn out, Donald Trump’s did and the difference was too much to overcome.
But new information shows that Clinton had a much bigger problem with voters who had supported President Barack Obama in 2012 but backed Trump four years later.
Those Obama-Trump voters, in fact, effectively accounted for more than two-thirds of the reason Clinton lost, according to Matt Canter, a senior vice president of the Democratic political firm Global Strategy Group. In his group’s analysis, about 70 percent of Clinton’s failure to reach Obama’s vote total in 2012 was because she lost these voters. …
Although Clinton has blamed her loss on Putin, and on Sanders — and perhaps if Biden wins the nomination he will likewise blame Putin and Sanders if he subsequently loses to Trump — the passion factor is actually much stronger an influence on whom the winner of an electoral contest will be than losing candidates wish to admit or publicly acknowledge; and it could turn out to be the case in 2020, just the same as it did in 2016.
On 24 August 2017, NPR bannered “Here’s How Many Bernie Sanders Supporters Ultimately Voted For Trump” and reported that, “12 percent of people who voted for Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., in the 2016 Democratic presidential primaries voted for President Trump in the general election. That is according to the data from the Cooperative Congressional Election Study (CCES) — a massive election survey of around 50,000 people.”
That study was done for CCES by Brian Shaffner of Tufts and Harvard Universities, who also reported that:
WI: 9% of Sanders voters voted for Trump.
MI: 8% of Sanders voters voted for Trump.
PA: 16% of Sanders voters voted for Trump.
Shaffner failed, however, to mention that Sanders beat Clinton in Wisconsin and won 570,192 votes in the Democratic primary there, and that Trump beat Clinton there by 22,748 votes, and that 9% of Sanders’s voters having voted for Trump there constituted 51,317 Sanders-Trump voters, and that this was 2.26 times as high as was Trump’s 22,747-vote victory-margin in Wisconsin, and, consequently: Sanders’s voters who voted for Trump were 2.26 times Trump’s victory-margin against Clinton there; so, clearly, Trump became President because of the huge number of Sanders voters who voted for Trump against Clinton. And it was the same thing that happened in each of the other two crucial states that Trump won in 2016.
Sanders likewise beat Clinton in Michigan and won 598,943 votes in the Democratic primary there, and Trump beat Clinton there by 10,704 votes, and 8% of Sanders voters having voted for Trump there constituted 47,915 Sanders-Trump voters, and this was 4.47 times as high as was Trump’s victory-margin in Michigan, so that Sanders’s voters who voted for Trump were 4.47 times Trump’s victory-margin against Clinton there.
Similarly, though Clinton beat Sanders in Pennsylvania, where Sanders won 731,881 votes in the Democratic primary, Trump beat Clinton there by 44,292 votes, and 16% of Sanders voters having voted for Trump there constituted 117,101 Sanders-Trump voters, and this was 2.64 times as high as Trump’s victory-margin in Pennsylvania, so that Sanders’s voters who voted for Trump were 2.64 times Trump’s victory-margin against Clinton there.
Of course, virtually all of the primary voters for Sanders would have been voting against Trump if Sanders had been the Democratic National Committee’s choice as the nominee instead of Clinton, whom they chose instead. By contrast, almost none of Clinton’s voters in the primaries would have voted against Clinton and for Trump in the final election (though some of them would have voted third-party or not at all — just as happened with Clinton’s actually being the Democratic nominee). Sanders would have overwhelmingly beaten Trump according to all of the nationally-polled match-ups — by far larger margins in a Sanders-Trump contest than Clinton was shown likely to in a Trump-Clinton contest. The DNC basically chose the overwhelmingly weaker nominee (and sometimes they even did it blatantly), and so they lost to Trump instead of to have their billionaire donors lose to Sanders and to the American public by Sanders becoming the nominee and then the President. Keeping the support from their billionaire donors was the DNC’s top priority, in 2016. Of course, America’s voting public generally don’t know that both the DNC and the RNC are far more committed to keeping the support from their billionaire donors than they are committed to winning elections. This is why those voters pay close heed to what their Party’s leaders say about which candidates are ‘electable’ and which ones aren’t. The voters don’t understand how politics actually works, in today’s America — they think that winning the current general election is a Party official’s top priority. They think that Party professionals are professionals at selecting winners, but instead Party professionals are professionals at pleasing their Party’s billionaires. If a voter wants to please him or her self instead of please a group of billionaires, that voter ought to vote for whomever that voter thinks would best serve that voter and not serve any group of billionaires
As the Huffington Post reported on March 4th, the day after Joe Biden’s huge Super-Tuesday win, “‘Voters liked both candidates but clearly consolidated around the one they saw as most electable,’ said Jared Leopold, who was the communications director for the Democratic Governors’ Association during the race. ‘The intraparty ideological fight pales in comparison to the thirst to beat Donald Trump and his buddies.’” Those people’s top concern is to please the few individuals who fund their careers. Winning the current electoral contest isn’t actually their #1 concern, though voters think it is. The Party professionals have a longer-term, personally career-oriented, goal in mind — pleasing their bosses’ bosses.

This article is a good one, but it still didn’t get it right. I’m a democrat. I didn’t vote for Trump. I voted against Hillary and so did millions of blue collar democrats. Trump said he was for the ordinary worker, but then surrounded himself with more wall street people than Bush and Obama combined. He said he would end the 20 year war in Afghanistan and spend the money on infrastructure here at home. Instead he increased the money to Afghanistan and forgot about infrastructure. So millions are looking for someone to kick wall street in the XXX like Trump said he would do, but lied. Bernie Sanders is like Trump in reverse. He’s never wavered in his opposition to wall street and the military industrial complex. He’s the one the “experts” say can never win, but is the only one who can beat Trump and beat him handily.
Anybody that becomes president is beholden to the deep state as it were. Bernie would be no different. The last president that bucked the system was JFK, and he had his head blown off in public. By deep state I mean the Kingdom of Lucifer which has been very active since the French Revolution.
Here’s JFK bucking the system https://www.history.com/news/us-presidents-vietnam-war-escalation
After visiting Vietnam as a congressman in 1951, John F. Kennedy publicly lambasted U.S. efforts to assist the French, saying that to act “in defiance of innately nationalistic aims spells foredoomed failure.” Three years later, he presciently declared, “I am frankly of the belief that no amount of American military assistance … can conquer an enemy which is everywhere and at the same time nowhere.”
His tune changed, however, by the time he ran for president in 1960, in part over concerns he would be called soft on communism. Once in the White House, Kennedy provided South Vietnam with jet fighters, helicopters, armored personnel carriers, river patrol boats and other tools of war. He also authorized the use of napalm, as well as defoliants such as Agent Orange.
That’s funny I remember being in Kerry ( south ireland ) in 1980’s meeting all these old cripple guy’s with their storys over bagged beer’s in the public squares in the evenings, they told me that the CIA had come through the ‘ring of kerry’ in the 1950’s to recruit guys who like to fight. Mercenary’s, as long as you could take a bunch, and we’re a hooligan you could pack your bags off to Vietnam and fight for the French to keep Vietnam free. It was some 10 additional years before the USA legitimized their war on “SE Asia”
The Irish guys told me they were fighting along with USA guys who had come from USA prisons, and this was all through the 1950’s.
I agree there is nobody in GOV that isn’t a criminal, the GOV is a Kleptocracy, GOV ran by common criminals.
Pentagon Papers told all, that Oil was found offshore Vietnam. To this day Shell & Chevron are still there pumping that oil and maintaining the infrastructure. Once the War was over and the “North” won, Chevron moved in, and so did Nike now today Vietnam is the greatest sweatshop manufacturer on the planet. Funny how a war over communism brought slavery north&south onto a people?
USA (CIA-MOSSAD) clearly got what they wanted out of Vietnam, that’s why they declared the war had ended and brought the living boys home, all their goals were achieved.
…
Biden or Pence will win this thing, my guess is Trump will have stroke by the time of the inauguration, and ‘what difference does it make?’ Biden&Pence are siamese twins sharing a common rectum
More important is Trump release of the Virus on Iran & China, leading to murder of Gov officials in both country’s, he released the virus in September 2019, all strains developed in USA using Chinese-Iranian community’s who re-infected their home country’s. Then he killed Soleimani which dropped guard let to lots of meetings, and that’s why now so many cabinet people in Iran&China are infected. Trump denys that troops were hurt in the Iran bombing of Iraq, Trump will refuse to acknowledge that his ‘virus’ destroyed the USA economy. “What difference does it make?”
A broken world owned by the USA, is better than a honest world not owned by the USA.
Agreed. This is a war of powers and principalities.
hi, Rodolfo. no USA president without a lot of closets in his past. a sort of Damocles´s sword to “guide” the marching orders.
By “deep state” you mean the what now?
OK, all loopy stuff aside, it’s really not hard to tell if someone who seems like a good guy is the real deal. If the establishment and the media hate them, try to completely ignore them and then when that fails try hard to sabotage them, if they insult and smear them and pull out dirty tricks against them, they’re the real deal, real enough anyway. Jeremy Corbyn was the real deal. And the British press smeared him viciously, constantly, and outrageously, finally settling on bringing down the most anti-racist politician in Britain for anti-semitism. Bernie Sanders is the real deal. His politics are not mine–my dream politics wouldn’t have a ghost of a chance in a US election. But clearly they’re good enough and genuine enough for the elites to hate his guts. That means he’s worth supporting.
“That means he’s worth supporting.”
Here’s Sanders, bucking the system https://www.wsws.org/en/articles/2019/05/06/pers-m06.html
Sanders thus postures as the defender of American workers in a conflict with Chinese workers over manufacturing jobs. The so-called “socialist” has gone so far as to criticize President Trump at an April 13 rally for supposedly taking too soft a line with China in the current trade talks. “For once in your life,” Sanders said, “keep your campaign promises… go back to the drawing board.”
On April 29, Sanders released his trade platform, calling for renegotiation of all US trade agreements and demanding that China be labeled a currency manipulator, something that successive US administrations have threatened, including Trump’s, but always pulled back from carrying out, in large measure because China is the largest holder of US government bonds.
After releasing his trade plan, Sanders said: “We need a president who will actually fight for American workers, keep their promises, and stand up to the giant corporations who close down plants to send jobs overseas.” These words could have been said by Trump himself.
Sanders has always been an economic nationalist, opposing NAFTA and other trade agreements from the standpoint of the trade union bureaucracy, which seeks to convince American workers that Mexican workers are their enemies, “stealing jobs” from them.
In this way, capitalist politicians and union executives seek to split the working class along national lines, pitting workers in the United States against those in Canada and Mexico, as well as in China, Japan and Europe, and inciting a never-ending race to the bottom, as workers are browbeaten into accepting cuts in wages and benefits and ever more onerous working conditions with the claim that this is the only way to keep the employers from moving overseas.
The only alternative to this is the struggle to unite the working class on an international basis, in a common struggle against the multinational corporations, the various capitalist states and global capitalism as a whole. In that struggle, the Chinese proletariat, the largest in the world, is objectively a great ally of the American working class, engaged in bitter struggles against some of the same transnational corporate giants that exploit American workers.
I think that at this moment or period of USA’s history you are right, Sanders is the only one that can beat Trump in the actual race for the government of USA.
Unfortunately for America, the Clinton, and now Clinton-Biden Crime Gang rides again.
Real question is just how did the Democratic machine change the trajectory of the election in just a few days?
Biden is a creepy, senile crook. No way in hell he is going to beat Trump in the Red states, lol.
It just shows what a complete joke the US political system is.
Oh yeah, make sure Tulsi isn’t allowed to be on TV with these disgusting old bastards.
I agree. The idea that Biden can beat Trump is laughable.
The progressive part of the Democratic party will not rally around Biden. Instead, they will sit out the election or vote for the Green Party.
The progressives constitute about half of the Democratic party. Without them the Democrats cannot win the election.
Period. End of story.
Zuesse is right.
Hillary did not lose because of the Russians. She lost because her own supporters were lukewarm towards her and Sanders supporters were passionate about him.
Once Sanders got cheated out of the nomination, Hillary was toast.
Hillary would have had more support from her own side if the candidate selection hadn’t been rigged.
Voter suppression and rigged machines is the far more likely reason for Sanders losing to Biden in states he expected to win. Many voting machines are electronic, hackable and have no verifiable paper trail.

” Of course, America’s voting public generally don’t know that both the DNC and the RNC are far more committed to keeping the support from their billionaire donors than they are committed to winning elections.”
Since I, as a non American who has never even been in the Western hemisphere, know that, there is no excuse for any American to not know it. Of course, Americans are expert in deciding not to know. They love their ignorance, hug it to their hearts, and hoard it like a treasured resource. They deserve whatever happens to them and get no sympathy from me whatsoever.
Ah, I can tell by your comment you truly never have been to the U.S.A. Believe it; people born and raised in the U.S.A. really are stupid. Something about the education system, and maybe also the water makes people stupid like nowhere else in the world. Maybe too much head knocking from playing American football? But really, you ain’t seen dumb until you’ve been to the U.S.A. If you do not consider that factor, you’ll never understand what happens around here. I’ll bet that the dumbest street moron in India has more wit than the average U.S.A. high school graduate.
Regarding American stupidity; The best explanation I have found for it comes from Karl Marx himself. “Capitalism itself is the force that makes people stupid.” All day every day Americans are pressured to drink the religion of capitalism into their veins. This obliges them to adhere to a religion of stupid. If they do not do this then their material survival becomes questionable. So they choose stupidity over social ostracism and death. Pity them the savagery of the choice imposed upon them. Capitalism is a Satanic religion that demands mass stupidity.
Which means that they are trapped in a system that brings out the worst in them. They survive by choosing what they read as a a manageably modest dose of stupidity and denial. Why? Because they rightly conclude that they do not have the power to make any other choice. The best of them know they live inside a great Satan and take their revenge quietly by choosing personal spiritual growth, which is a long term solution which is actually working. It is so easy making harsh judgments against Americans from outside. But if one is forced to live inside the belly of a Great Satan then compassionate understanding of the psychological pressure placed upon a people who have been deliberately cut off from their own history and culture by this great Satan is needed.
A Kiwi living in America
I think you give them too much credit. From what I have seen while living there – they are mostly obsessed by making sure their ‘best’ friends don’t succeed.
The only place in the world where I saw ‘best’ friends being very jealous of each other is the US. Especially milenials. So they are not just increasingly poor, they lack any meaningful social interaction (something you can see plenty of in most other places like Japan, Serbia, Argentina, Spain etc).
General anglo saxon zombiehood is a big factor here.
For so many centuries, psychoapaths were selected and promoted so to have more ruthless monsters in charge of killing, raping and exploiting for their empire, that very little humanity and constructive brain power is left to work with. They really are like MORDOR
No wonder they themselves came up with all these interesting (and revealing) concepts like 1984 Orwellian hellhole, MORDOR etc. Even the concept of vampires has probably been invented to explain psychopathic ‘cultures’ like Jews
They have so fundamentally lost any contact with human biology, there is no hope for them.
That is what they are starting to feel – that they really are fundamentally disconnected from everything in life worth living for.
And that’s what makes them even more addicted to drugs, TV, alcohol etc.
I have not seen any constructive fight to change anything. All they do is hide basically.
Tomo and Co; I completely agree with all of your observations of Americans. I have to endure the same traits you describe so clearly. You describe their moral failings and I also see them. What I try to do is point out that so much of the things we both deplore are in very large part a part of massive wall to wall psychological and cultural capitalist programming that Americans have no choice but to live inside. The things you speak of have so much to do with the psychological and cultural nature of capitalism itself. Ange-American zombie hood and vampirism and jealousy of friends and competing with them along with social dysfunctionality are predictable consequences of capitalism. Here in America capitalism is the state religion and the people are baked in it from cradle to grave. What can one expect? Like I said, the only way out is spiritual growth, but that takes time.
The American educational system breeds conformity and discourages critical thinking.
The critical thinkers are the outcasts and the “criminals” who are both derided as being “losers.”
It is a wonderful system for the rich and privileged – until it starts to collapse … which is exactly what is happening.
what you say reminds me of a web course I recently took (a google IT course) .
I was impressed with how nobody out of maybe 10 ‘teachers’ looked like a normal, confident white man (there was only one normal male, confident, non-confused sexually character – he looked like my Nigerian friends). All the white people were either obviously suffering from Gender Identity Disorders (although they would probably wrongly describe themselves as’gay’). Or they were fami-nazis who looked impossible to please, pretty fake and unfriendly. It was always men who were serving very hard to please women in the scenarios they were showing – never vice-versa.
This is a good sample of the kind of toxic (but submissive and weak) people a company like google likes to promote (and what they like to repress – normal, confident, genuinely nice and helpful people – especially if white and male)
I was a bit shocked – and it made me never want to work for such a depressive, totalitarian, repressive BS company (no matter how much money they have)
I think they promote weakness and passivity – such people are probably easier to rule over.
Yes agree Mike.
US is in the same stage now as the Roman Empire was around 450AD – internal rot leading to collapse unless someone is found the save the bacon.
The root cause of all this goes back to LBJ and Vietnam triggering radicalism in the DEMs who then over time got control of it. The decline started from 1966.
It also the fault of the rich in not ensure eco stability.
The CV-19 thing may be the mechanism whereby Trump and the GOP move to arrest the radicals for incitement and sedition. Soros, Bloomberg, Bezos etc would also be placed in custody for financing this agenda of evil.
I agree with you – they are stupid – but even more so they are cowards.
And they do cherish their stupidity – even if you give them all the proofs – they still will pretend they don’t get it even if they do (I’ve seen it firsthand I know hundreds of Americans – I’ve lived all over the place).
So both of you are right – they are both stupid – and cowardly.
But they are more cowards than they are stupid – and (perhaps because they are stupid) they think pretending they don’t see injustice (because they are cowards above all) this will give them a good excuse to do nothing.
I think even stupid people feel even worse if they are faced with the fact and a proof that they are in fact also cowards.
So blocking this proof is very important to them.
They also love drugs, dope, alcohol, Hollyjewwood for the same reason – escape from the proof of their fundamental cowardice
America awaits,
for you to step up to the plates,
and show check mates,
to the gang of eights and heavy weights.
For this game is simple,
like popping a pimple.
So dont be a wimp,
and go limp,
for America awaits,
for you to step up to the plates.
I fully agree with you – that’s exactly what I think after having lived in the US for 14 years or so. Especially in DC area – although the same thing in California.
Americans don’t want to know many things because they are probably the biggest cowards on the planet, and they think that if they pretend they don’t see what is happening, they are not cowards if they do nothing to change it.
Deluded, dumb population – Canada is similar (and worse in many ways) – the ((( West))) is doomed
modern day MORDOR
Tomo –
A cause of this is the fact there has been too much easy living and not poverty and war for America for 70 yrs.
The fault lies with LBJ Nixon Carter Reagan & Bush who did nothing to fix structural problems and radicals who were in since until 2016.
The Cannucks are mostly brain dead anyway as they live in permafrost a third of the year and have to thaw out.
Its a sad end to a once great place.
The zionazi-gays have decided they would rather have trump “leading” their american colony rather than sanders. There are geopolitical reasons behind this, as well as turf/policy rivalry between israeli extreme right (likud and fellow travelers) and slightly less extreme right (labor and their fellow travelers), but basically it is essentially that why the zionazi-gay dem establishment and their various affiliated propaganda organs are pushing the biden quisling. They know he has even less of a chance of ousting likud quisling trump than clinton had against him in 2016*.
*Yes the zionazi-gays rammed through clinton for the same reasons. They wanted neocons rather than neolibs managing their pindo colony, so forced a guaranteed loser candidate for their dem false choice.
The zionazi-gays wont even tolerate even the very mild questioning of their policy decisions that gabbard has brought up.
Tulsi Gabbard Eliminated From Next Democratic Debate After New DNC Standards Introduced
https://sputniknews.com/us/202003061078498506-tulsi-gabbard-eliminated-from-next-democratic-debate-after-new-dnc-standards-introduced/
“The Democratic National Committee (DNC) has introduced new qualifying standards for the coming Democratic debate in Phoenix, Arizona, that leaves Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-Hawaii) out.
The new standard requires earning a minimum of 20 percent of the delegates by 15 March. The next Democratic primary is scheduled for 10 March, with voters in six states heading to the polls, in which Gabbard is unlikely to obtain the required percentage of delegates to share to participate in the Arizona debate on 15 March.”
Gabbard has zero chance of winning the dem primary. What the zionazi-gays fear is the public hearing the criticisms she has about the zionazi-gay forced through policies being pursued by the quisling trump regime and likewise supported by their biden quisling.
Kim Iverson on YT points out that Sanders did far better in Texas and California this time than he did in 2016. The southern states are irrelevant since they vote Republican anyway in the general election.
This also doesn’t take into account the massive vote rigging on unreliable and unverifiable voting machines.. Nor the big discrepancy between pre primary polls and actual results.
So it’s not quite how the MSM portrays it. Sanders had huge crowds in Boston Mass, yet lost to Biden? It’s all too fishy. Why the DNC supports Biden is beyond me. His brain is barely functional. They probably want to lose to Trump and continue to blame the Russians, in their vainglorious stupidity.
As for me, here in Thailand, we had our expat primary. I voted for the only candidate who even approaches an anti war stance, Tulsi Gabbard. She rightly urges action to avert nuclear war. Not even Sanders raised this issue. And Gabbard has just been ditched from the debate with yet another change in DNC rules. It’s all pathetic.
In the Soviet Union, they said, “We pretend to work, and they pretend to pay us.” In the USA, “We pretend to vote, and they pretend to count”. The numbers are all made up to look credible.
My bet remains the same: Toolsy.
Biden is a disaster. And it’s obvious.
Sanders seems to be an independent zealot, not a puppet. If so, those behind the curtain cannot trust him. He may become a loose cannon or even start civil war if he gets any halfway real power. So he was, is, and will be pushed aside. Fishy? Of course it’s fishy. But on his own, he got some fanatic “comrades” and some of “screw you” votes. This didn’t work too well before, why would he make it now?
During all this mess Tulsi is going the dark horse route.
She is left off the debate? Oh noes. What good these debates were to anyone lately, again? CNN doesn’t love her? It loved Hillary, and where she is now?
And in the end, all this does not matter. If the puppeteer club decides to bet on her, she gets the nomination, debates or no debates. And the rest will smile and bow. Or else.
Until then, she will be shilled by astroturf only, not by Madcow.
Will this happen? Well, the US Inner Party just doesn’t have other viable candidates.
Can they pass this round? With fake opposition (like McCain) in charge, they could. But now there’s Trump. Trump already kicks the Overton Window, threatened to “lock her up”, still threatens to purge institutions (starting with NASA) and does his best to turn even the fake opposition into real one. So, unlikely.
What’s left?
All a very scary situation indeed. Even worse when one considers Biden, and his backers, in all likelihood still has interests in the Ukraine. And thus in all likelihood he and his backers will start pursuing their Ukrainian goals again by way of another “regime change” as the Ukraine happens to be run by other oligarchs at the moment. Thus the likelihood of war with Russia in the “great game” to control Asia and the rest of the world which makes for a high potential for blowing apart this planet by way of war. On the other hand, Trump if elected for a second term would continue on his path of making killing sanctions upon other countries, and other what-not, but at least has no plans, I believe, for a thermo-nuclear war that would evaporate this planet. Instead with his neglect of obvious climate change brought on by the burning of hydro-carbon fuels, all supported by an ignorant U.S. public, will slow cook our planet within a couple of generations. Meanwhile, Bernie, is about to become toast ’cause he can’t bring himself to pacify a few billionaires who might actually be so compassionate to help him. And poor Tulsi; she has been squashed down yet once again. Oh wow; the choices the few thinking people in the U.S.A. do not get to honestly vote for.
All elections are attempts at solving insoluble social problems. It’s like trying to fix a flat on a car while driving down the road. Should we drive faster and look for a care repair shop or slower and try to make the tire last longer? It’s fun to argue over who gets to drive the car but in the end relatively pointless.
Benevolent and wise dictators are the best form of government but then there is the problem with succession. No guarantees on the next guy. Democracy and multiculturalism do not “work and play well together.” That is because there will always exist irreconcilable differences between cultures. Separate the cultures and you buy time until the next Genghis Khan comes along.
I think Trump is making an amazing attempt at balancing power and people. It is clear that other rich people don’t like him and the feeling is mutual. It appears that he is sincere in his love of America and I believe he is a good man at heart, his human failings notwithstanding. If he were a truly evil person, it would have come to light by now with all his many enemies scouring the earth for dirt. He and Sanders are alike but Sanders would truly encounter the wrath of the powerful. He is honest and has the heart but lacks the power to protect himself or the negotiating skills to pull off his ideas.
You might like to ask Zeinab (Qassem Soleimani’s) daughter whether she thinks Trump is a good man at heart.
Can’t wait for the moment in the Biden-Trump debates when Trump says to Biden…
“If I get re-elected you’re going to jail…”
For in that moment a few more (not all) will realize the emperor is wearing no clothes.
Many suspect that Mrs Clinton’s 4,269,978 votes in California 2016 were not honestly counted.
Many also suspect that her votes in the Primaries were a work of fiction as well.
The bottom line was that Mrs Clinton lost the election becuse she was a terrible candidate, and well as being lazy, dishonest and thoroughly unlikable.
Had there been any competent people at the top end of the Democratic party, she would never have been considered for the candidacy.
History repeating itself with the has-been / never was Biden’s campaign; no matter who is pulling the puppet’s strings from the background, he is unelectable.
Yes it will be the passionate support for other DEM candidates – Sanders, Warren, Gabbard etc that will cost Biden the election plus his dementia and son’s dealings. Verses Trump’s charisma, honesty, hardworking trying to fix things record and $ backing.
The Democrat grassroots is divided – many particularly those on the right and centre of the party (some of who like aspects Sanders message) would prefer Trump to win than let DNC party hacks determine who will be leader and a candidate they dont like gets in.
This is problem the DNC will not be able to deal with. They cant force disaffected Dems to vote for their boy.
There are enough Sanders and other supporters to sabotage the Nov Election just as there was in 2016 as many Dem grass roots didnt like Hillary at all even before Sanders arrived. They have a big problem and its root cause is division in the party that has been largely caused by the corrupt and morally bankrupt Clintons and other figures like Obama.
Disunity is death. This has been seen elsewhere in other countries.
Even tho Biden is the middle of the road candidate those who wanted other candidates will not shine to him.
In a tight election match it means disaster. Biden is too old and they need a younger candidate there and not some millionaire or minority rep.
The only candidate with charisma was Tulsi but her agenda is seen as inappropriate.
The real danger now is if Sanders or Tulsi run as Independents splitting the DEM vote as Ross Perot did in 1992 to H Bush. That is a possibility as Bernie now has nothing to lose as if he fails this time he wont get another shot at it.
Trump in debates could make mincemeat of Biden. So its a losing game anyway.
If this Biden thing is some plan to slip in Hillary again at the last moment so she doesnt have to campaign in the primaries it will fail again because her health isnt up to it and Trump would like Biden make a fool of her.
The DEMs have a great capacity to pick losers.
Carter got 1 term because he did do anything to fix the economy when he could have. Clinton got in because H Bush failed to look after the economy and it was scandal after scandal. Obama only got in because a people were sick of W Bush and the GFC and its aftereffects. Remember that the DEMs havent had 3 White House terms since Truman (1952).
There needs to be many of the reforms the DEMS seek but it will take a credible young candidate to do so. Obama was not in that category because his policies caused him to not have support of the House and Senate and may of the people.
I think the situation as it stands means whoever the DNC chose will not succeed.
The other aspect of Biden is if there is a secret plan afoot to replace him with Hillary at the last moment or even make her VP, the Sanders problem still exists.
If Hillary was to be re-elevated again imagine how furious Sanders supporters and him too would be at the second snub. Bernie would definitely run as an independent.
This is why Hillary probably wont run because if she’s properly informed she knows she will lose a second time because Sanders supporters will take a baseball bat to her and the DNC leadership. and she wont want to be in the history books as a 2 time loser nor would the DNC or Obama who controls it allow it to happen.
The DEMS never allow a loser to run a second time.
So the prospects are grim for the Demon Crats.
