“The cleric, a recluse who favors a behind-the-scenes role, kicked off his newly assertive stance on June 13 with a call for Iraqis to take up arms against a Sunni insurgency – the first fatwa of its kind in a century, clerics familiar with Sistani’s thinking say, motivated by his fear the state faced collapse.”
A very condescending paragraph from Reuters:

As mentioned by Mindfriedo in the today’s SITREP:
What Do You Know About Sistani’s Fatwa?
The Shia are generally very cautious when speaking about Jihad. The fundamental difference between them and the Sunnis on this subject is that the Shia consider the call for offensive jihad the prerogative of the infallible Imam of the time. In current times, the Imam is the Mahdi – the Shia believe he disappeared in 874 AD and will return at the end of time. In his absence, the religious scholars can only call for a defensive jihad when an aggressive enemy attacks their community or sacred places. While the Sunnis give the decision to call for offensive or defensive jihad to the political ruler and the scholars of religion.

Study: Ramadan makes Muslims happy but poorer:
Two Jewish professors at Harvard Kennedy School, Filipe Campante and David Yanagizawa-Dorott in their latest study, entitled Measuring Ramadan have claimed that Muslim fasting in the month of Ramadan does have negative effect on the economic growth of Muslim countries – but Muslims find themselves happier while more involved in social activities.
“At the risk of being a tad simplistic, we are tempted to conclude that this year’s long days of fasting may make Muslims poorer than they would have been otherwise, but happier nonetheless,” said the professors.
I can understand professors’ problem. Being product of Western culture which is based on “money matters” and consumerism – created and thus has benefitted Jewish elites the most. Furthermore, many Jews have claimed that Jewish Talmud teaches how to make money on the expense of others especially the non-Jewish people.
“And the apparent affection for Jewishness has led to a surprising trend in publishing over the last few years: books purporting to reveal the business secrets of the Talmud that capitalize on the widespread impression among Chinese that attributes of Judaism lead to success in the financial arts,” wrote Isaac Stone Fish, Newsweek magazine, December 29, 2010.
In real Islamic traditions, fasting in the month of Ramadan is not about increasing your worldly possessions, but to share most of them on humanity which couldn’t afford them due to the increasing economic gap between the 1% rich and the 99% poor around the world. And when the Believers get involved in charity and social activities – they feel happier than they’re in the past eleven months.
Best regards,
Mohamed.

Re Mindfriedo’s report «Egypt’s President Sisi volunteers to help rival political parties in Iraq », there is an astonishing article on Veterans Today detailing claims that al-Sisi is Jewish & likely an Israeli agent, his family planted long ago in Egypt by Mossad. From the article by Dr Kevin Barrett (an American convert to Islam):
« General Abd al-Fattah al-Sisi, is a Jew. His mother, Malikah Titani, is a Moroccan Jew from Asefi, which makes al-Sisi a Jew and an automatic citizen of Israel … al-Sisi is almost certainly a Mossad agent. … No wonder the Israeli ambassador called al-Sisi “a national hero for all Jews.” …
« Al-Sisi’s uncle, Uri Sibagh … served in the Jewish Defense League (Hamagein) from 1948 to 1950, made his aliyah to Israel, and became a bigwig in Ben Gurion’s political party, serving as the secretary of the Israeli Labor Party in Beersheba from 1968 to 1981. Uri’s sister – al-Sisi’s mother – presumably emigrated to Egypt on a mission from the Mossad. That mission culminated when the Mossad overthrew President Morsi and installed its agent al-Sisi in the coup d’état of July 3rd, 2013. »

Mindfriedo, thank you for what you do, and may God hear your prayers for the suffering, innocent, and vulnerable
Noted Brazilian journalist Pepe Escobar says Arabs in general are quickly viewing this new ‘caliph’ al-Baghdadi and Isil-Isis-Daash-Di as propped-up frauds, because for all their quasi-Islamic bluster … the ‘caliphate’ seems to be shockingly un-interested regarding Israel’s latest brutal attack and killings in Gaza a few hundred kilometres away from them … fellow Sunnis in captivity being massacred by Israel, Muslim women and children being killed by non-Muslims … and yet this ‘great Islamic caliphate’ has so little jihadic fervour in that direction?

Al Qaeda privatized
Part 1
Established in the United States as a sort of international brigades to fight against Soviet troops in Afghanistan, Al Qaeda organization is going through interesting times. Grouped around Osama bin Laden’s central core of the organization and has not found itself after the death of the leader three years ago.
Ayman al-Zawahiri, who replaced the Emir, the second person in the organization, has neither the means at the disposal of the deceased former leader (or even a tenth of them) nor his charisma, tthat helps organize and lead people. Al-Zawahiri also is not good in the role of a religious leader. He knows doctrine, but rather as a pedant than a deep connoisseur, and most importantly – he lacks tolerance for beleiver’s weaknesses, so much needed for a religious leader in order to work with people.
His brother, who became the spiritual leader of the militant wing of the influential organization takfiristov – cute man and even touching in contrast to a nervous, constantly demonstrating confidence in his own correctness, Ayman, but suffers from childhood clinical mental retardation, and more suited to the role of a boy that carry tea than a head of radical Islamists who accuse other Muslims in “disbelief” and fight with them as infidels. He remembers Quran and can quote, but due to objective constraints is difficult even to determine whether he understands the meaning of the spoken words.
Organization “Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant” began as a regional section of Al Qaeda, but entrenched in northern Iraq, the head of the ISIS Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi did not recognize Ayman al-Zawahiri as emir. Currently, Al-Baghdadi has much more power and influence than ever Osama bin Laden had under whom al-Zawahiri was the second person in the organization.
Look closely at this figure. We remember that at the time, Osama bin Laden had access to the levers of influence within the CIA operation against Soviet forces in Afghanistan. After the US released Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi from prison, he was trained in Jordan. The Hashemite Kingdom does not provide such services out of kindness; Someone was making decisions and was paying bills. Anyway, terrorist training unit was “ruled” by former US Marines, engaged in a private company.
Unlike many other similar groups, equipped with a anything they can get their hands on, ISIS is armed from head to toe exclusively with new American weapons, including armored vehicles, anti-tank and anti-aircraft missile systems, as well as helicopters and drones. Part of this stuff was captured on a conveniently abandoned bases in Iraq, but the militants of the organization had never suffered from a lack of US weapons. After the capture of Mosul the ISIS, now renamed simply and modestly in the “Islamic State” had added to it weapons-grade plutonium and enriched uranium, and a lot of cash.
Capturing cities was accompanied by mass beheadings and crucifixions. Crucify people is a very efficient way to obtain financing in the United States to fight against yourself, especially for support for those in Bible belt whi dislikes the current administration. Significantly, despite the massive American presence in Iraq, none of them suffered from the actions of ISIS.
The only glitch is still experiencing “Islamic state” – the lack of field hospitals, but it does not matter – there are stationary. Fifteen hundred militants ISIS and “Frente al-Nusra” are treated in American military hospitals.
I do not know whether the U.S. government plans to impliment proposed in the time of Henry Kissinger the “Hundred Years War”, and to what extent it is going to use the tactics outlined in carefully published by the Harvard Institute for Strategic Studies Labour Abu Bakr Muhammad Maqdisi, or as they call it, Abu Bakr Naji, “Management of Savagery.” One thing is clear: the White House overplayed. Or rather, it was over outplayed.
Al Qaeda privatized
Part 2
A special group of militants ISIS has long worked in Lebanon over something incomprehensible to the locals. Among them could be seen two non-Arab man, to whom the locals, too busy with their hashish business, did not pay much attention, considering them just important hostages, treated carefully, but since everything was OK between the newcamers and the local leader, nobody popped his nose into their business.
When ISIS finally straighen their position in northern Iraq, the group relocated there with strangers and with its carefully protected load. Sometimes some Americans were visiting them.
And then, seemingly out of nowere, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi proclaimed himself caliph. This term is difficult to precise definition, and if Shi’ite caliph can only be a descendant of Ali and Fatima, which only the Ayatollah can claim, the Sunni opinions on this matter diverge.
Anyway, neither Ayman al-Zawahiri, nor anyone else except the companions of Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, did not recognize him as the caliph, but perhaps they should.
Mysterious goods arriving from Lebanon, are a three thermonuclear warheads, rockets or missiles allegedly identified by sources as «SS-20.” I have no idea what part of the complex “Pioneer” militants got from their American friends, and which warheads exactly they are. It is possible that we are talking about three MIRV, ie about nine blocks.
With these gudgets work not hostages as was believed by naive Lebanese but two specialists associated with American visitors. One of them from Neteshin, where he was one of the leading experts on the second power unit of Khmelnitsky NPP and worked under a Bank-financed project K2/R4. Second specialist – from Rovno NPP.
You can speculate that these specific nuclear scientists whose names are already known to a number of government agencies, made for the “Caliph” al-Baghdadi: Provides secure storage or, for example, altered blocks on land mines. I haven;t enough information to even begin to think about it.
the important thing. This is the second such report of this kind in Iraq. I am absolutely convinced that the extracted ISIS militants in Mosul University of weapons-grade plutonium and enriched uranium were not there with the consent of the authorities of any country. And about thermonuclear warheads delivered to ISIS, it is needless to say.
Therefore, the main question for the world is whether there is enough power in the American administration to cope with the force corporations that got out of control.
Unfortunately, the main problem for the Russian, and especially for Ukrainians is more localized. One of the warheads, after the work on it is finished, the specialists planned to transport to Ukraine. Anyway, it was planned – until the release of this report.

@N-V
Thank you for translating it. What is implied is very scary.
“which only the Ayatollah can claim”
A minor error, Ayatollahs in the sense of Marjas (Sistani/Khumaini/Khamenei) cannot rule. Only the last Imam (an Ayatollah/sign of God) can as a Caliph.
But this is a distraction to what your linked article is talking about. Which is very sinister.
Thank you

@mohamed
Is there any evidence that the professors who did the Ramadan study actually make a judgment that Ramadan is somehow not worth it because it makes the participants poorer?
As psychologists, I would suspect that they are aware that money doesn’t buy happiness. While honored more in the breach than in the practice, it certainly has been a theme in western culture for centuriesl
Not sure why you make all those assumptions, though your attempt to tie the study into your version of the Talmud as a guide to making money pretty well clues me in.
“steve said…,
Not sure why you make all those assumptions, though your attempt to tie the study into your version of the Talmud as a guide to making money pretty well clues me in.”
Dearest Steve,
I quoted the full article without adding anything from me. The mistake, I made is left out the ” “. By the time I realized it, my post was already gone. Poof.
However, one reads or hears every year that Muslims eat more during the entire month of Ramadan than other 11 months, even though the Muslims should be fasting in the month of Ramadan.
They don’t understand what Ramadan means, and the greetings “Ramadan Kareem”. Ramadan Generous. It is not that Ramadan is Generous, it is God who is Generous. So, one greets everyone throughout the month of Ramadan that God to be Generous to you and remind them in return they should be generous to others. Make Sense?
Also, Muslims don’t fast during the month of Ramadan, they perform Absentees from sunrise to sunset. Absentee from food, lying, cheating, backbiting and any evil deed one can think of.
So, what they do at night. One unknown night out of the 30 nights, where good acts are multiplied by 1000 months. Feed a poor person, is like feeding her/him for 1000 months. Ticket to PARADISE. If one wants to hit the jackpot, then one should do good acts every night of the 30 nights. Generosity is in action.
After 30 days, the month of Ramadan is over. People slowly, slowly fall back to the regular habits. Poof, after 11 months, here comes Ramadan again.
Ramadan Kareem,
Mohamed.
BTW, Muslims were always nice to everyone including Jews in the past and they will continue to do so in the future. The Spanish Inquisitions are testimony to this.

Thank you for the correction. I’m absolutely ignorant in this matter, I obviously made a translation mistake.
What startled me is the possibility of the complete disaster. And I tend to trust this website, that was where I first read about CIA head John Brennan visiting Ukraine under assumed name.

Thank you all for your contributions, SITREP, translations, links, explanations.
VeteransToday has “no censorship”, “no bias” policy, the writers are free to express their opinions. Dr. Barret is very knowledgeable, eloquent but he’s that weird pro-islam bias which sometimes very hard to digest. It’s actually quite misleading. If you read Webster Tarpley and other experts you can understand that removing that US-grown Muslim Brotherhood lunatic Morsi has been one of the best things that happened in the ME towards stabilization the region and stopiing the NWO/NATO war machine. Morsi called for war with Syria and against Shias (resulted already in a prominent Islamic cleric murder), planned implementing sever austerity IMF “adjustment program” and selling the Suez canal to the Cataris. Since removing that Israeli stooge Egypt has formed a military alliance with Russia. Fraudulent “endorsing” of Sisi and his collaborators/administration by the zionist abomination is one of their favourite, frequent deception/disinfo tactics aimed at blemishing the target with the fake “zionist friend” label.
EVERYBODY should read the materials from the VT site by Gordon Duff about the nuclear threats (missing) and deployment on 9/11 and during other events operations. They’ve been raising alarms about “nuclear” false flag event for some time already, and recent news about the NATO-run terrorist stealing nuclear material is just more validation for the VT warnings. It provides “cover” for the coming “deception”. Gordon Duff is highly connected with the military/intelligence circles and his analyses so far has turned to be right on the spot. Dismissing him is a really silly, counterproductive and harmful to the cause thing to do.
Also I highly recommend reading about the “islamist/zionist” hegelian dialectic at Henry Makow – if you want to understand what wahabbism is, why it was created and who controls it.
“Al-Raqqah is also home to the meetings of intelligence organizations with the ISIS commanders. This well-protected headquarters is a command centre, where military acts in the area are observed and militants are communicated with via satellites, it is where looted cash is gathered and paid to the militants. It acts similar to a treasury.”
It’s beyond me why this HQ has not been yet bombed by the SAA? What kind of game has been being played here? The barbarians in the HQ have been responsible for death and suffering of many innocent people, and will continue their criminal acts? Why are they allowed to exist?
This writer does some investigation of how these terrorists are connected up with the ZPC media machine. It’s quite an interesting analysis:
ISIS and Iraq: The T-Shirts, the Cats, the App, the Hasbara http://www.nakedcapitalism.com/2014/07/isis-iraq-t-shirts-cats-app-hasbara.html
“…Conclusion: ISIS and Hasbara
If there’s a common narrative hook in these episodes — involving as they do a one-man terrorism expert, a wealthy Israeli-born social media expert, two experts from an AIPAC cut-out, a lot of very hip new media operations (Breitbart, VICE, Vocative), Facebook, Twitter, and digital evidence that, darn it, just keeps disappearing — it’s the theme of ISIS recruiting foreigners via social media. In the T-shirts episode, that’s what the CNN announcer exclaimed at — “very scary” — when she thought of teh childrenz being sucked into jihad by toys, the horror; in the cats episode, that’s what the “fanboys” are supposed to do. In the app episode, that’s what VICE’s social media expert thoughts was happening. And that seems to be the agenda at the Heritage Foundation (you know, the folks who invented ObamaCare, though I have to admit I’m not au courant with the hottest foreign policy think tanks)…Oh, and hasbara. Here’s a fine discussion:
Before I get to specifics, let me provide a general description of hasbara and its purposes. Hasbara is usually translated as “explanation.” That does not do the concept justice. Hasbara links information warfare to the strategic efforts of the state to bolster the unity of the home front; ensure the support of allies; disrupt efforts to organize hostile coalitions; determine the way issues are defined by the media, the intelligentsia, and social networks; establish the parameters of politically correct discourse; delegitimize both critics and their arguments; and shape the common understanding and interpretation of the results of international negotiations. Hasbara is multifaceted and well-adapted to the digital age. It embodies a public-private partnership in which the state leads and committed volunteers follow in implementing an information strategy. In its comprehensiveness and complexity, it bears the same relationship to unidimensional public diplomacy as grand strategy does to campaign plans.
I think if you review the three episodes, it’s clear that they all share the characteristics of hasbara. However, it seems likely to me that there are multiple hasbara campaigns going on, which would make the United States government only one of several actors. The episode that really puzzles me is the app. If my logic is right, ISIS, and/or its backer(s), was sending a big message to the Saudis via Twitter. But what message, and why?”
