From ZeroHedge, regarding the BRICs rapidly becoming an anti-dollar alliance:
If the current trend continues, soon the dollar will be abandoned by most of the significant global economies and it will be kicked out of the global trade finance. Washington’s bullying will make even former American allies choose the anti-dollar alliance instead of the existing dollar-based monetary system. The point of no return for the dollar may be much closer than it is generally thought. In fact, the greenback may have already past its point of no return on its way to irrelevance.
I think that this, and Southstream (and other pipelines bypassing troublesome areas), are Putin’s long game. And *this* is why he was telling Novorussians not to rock the boat at this time. The western monstrosity was going to come down on its own, without the bloodshed.
Good they moved to Rutube, away from the anglo/zionist censors. I had an older Rutube site of their bookmarked that the last video was uploaded at the beginning of June and thought they had not kept the account up to date. This one:
I think there is defeinately some truth to that. Im not sure what you mean by “not rock the boat” though. The bloodshed was coming. Novorussia did not begin this war.. If the Nazis in Kiev had forgotten to start the massacres on their own initiative (something they were very much look forward to anyway) then washington would have made sure they were reminded of their priorities – . This is Washington’s war. The only way it could have been avoided was if Washington had backed off…they could have at any time, they’ve been given many opportunities.

And the technique to place static subtitles over the video is very easy, so why this snobbish flashy dynamic subs while in the media-war this facility should be as accessible as possible?
By the way, the save function can easily be solved by a download-link under the video as they do on RT site.
VERY good point. I don’t think there’s any way we’ll go down without bloodshed (hey, that’s what we do best at this point, right?), but at least it could have been minimized. There’s no way Ukraine can possibly stay afloat and we really don’t do nation-building, just extraction, though we probably would have poured money desperately needed on the home front into some kind of oligarch-enabling effort. So he could have just sat back and let both things happen, and *perhaps* the atrocities might not have taken place. And Pravy Sektor et. al. would be Kiev’s headache.
Vladislav Gulevich, a Ukrainian journalist who recently fled to Russia, has a decent piece in CounterPunch. The kicker, to me, is at the end:
“Meanwhile Kiev drafts more and more men and women into the Ukrainian Army. The mobilization age was raised to 55 years. Recently representatives of the nationalist movement in parliament proposed to raise it further, to 60 years. This is because Ukrainian youth are unwilling to shed blood for the new government`s ambitions. Ukrainian mothers throughout the country protest against such a massive draft and block the military units, demanding that the authorities bring their sons back from the front line. In the meantime, many would-be draftees are escaping from the country, mostly to Russia. Kiev has ordered Ukrainian borders to be closed, not only with Russia but also with other states, to prevent young men from fleeing abroad. Now it is quite difficult for young Ukrainians to leave their country. They do not want to join the Army but they are being forced to.”
Odessa, Mariupol, Inna, Luganskaya and more to come, yes, but drafting 55-60 year-old-men, skyrocketing prices for food and utilities, closed borders (the real carrot for the folks in the West was going to be getting to Europe, right?), increased violence both random and targeted, financialization and increased power and wealth for oligarchs with infinite/irremediable debt and privation for the 99.99999%, ad infinitum: a status quo only Washington could truly love.
The real question is, can any state we have made fail truly escape that paradigm — and if so, how? Putin extricated Russia from our best efforts 25 years ago, but we’ve refined our methodology, as it were, and despite our rescue fantasies and whatever bonds he feels for Novorossiya, it’s really not his battle.
Let’s say he does go in — he can certainly dispatch Pravy Sektor and the rest of the best Kiev has to offer, but then what? Does anyone honestly believe we’ll just sit back and lick our wounds? Then Russia will truly have another Afghanistan on her hands, and Blackwater will not have to pretend to look like Arabs as they blow stuff up. Etc.
Perhaps it truly is the wisest, safest option simply to keep doing exactly what he has been: provide help where necessary and/or plausibly deniable but as for the rest, just let them all stew in their own juices.
Kyiv authorities will have to answer for crimes against humanity at intl court – [Fair Russia leader] Mironov (Interfax, 15:56)
Poroshenko calls his constitutional amendments bill an “antidote” to federal Ukraine idea (Interfax, 14:58) [Should have tried it before the bombing and the raping.]
First coup appointed Defense Minister, Admiral Ihor Tenyukh, manages to lose the Black Sea Fleet and Crimea. Fittingly ironic. He resigns.
Then coup appointed Defense Minister General Koval of the Border Guards manages to lose control of Donbass border. Also fittingly ironic. He also resigns today.
Now is appointed by the coup government Valery Gelety, former head of state security for the parliament and presidential administration. One can only pray to God that he follows the example of his predecessors and loses control of that which he was formerly master. For Petro$ Porcohoco, pray Psalm 109.4.

It’s the first time I have to say you are completely wrong. The global evil cabal consist of MONOPOLY MEN – Rockefeller said “Competition is a sin!”. They power comes from virtual monopolies on currencies (Petrodollar, BP, euro) financial services (BIG 8 Horsemen), energy (BIG OIL 4 Horsemen: Exxon, Chevron, BP, RDS, also Carlye, Halliburton) food/water supply (Bechtel, Syngenta, Monsanto), land ownership (Windors), media/information control (Disney, Murdoch,…) and control of the illegal markets for weapons (Lockheed, Boeing, Raytheon), drugs (Bush/Cheney/Clintons/Romney/Petreaus), human and organ trafficking (Kosovo, Israel), mercenaries (Academi/Greystone, that French company)
Alternative currencies are a HUGE BLOW against their power/control structure and actually form a foundation for really free markets, long overdue…
Yes! I actually composed a response to you, elsi, because what you said and how you said it were just so incredibly moving — but I was falling asleep and must have deleted it as I conked out! In any case, you expressed what was in my heart but hadn’t yet made it to my lips, or fingers. Thank you both.
Mohamed,
This is the first time I’ve ever really disagreed with you too! But I think ProPeace’s point about bitcoin really makes sense — and Jerry Brown started off a bit of a flake, then went Neoliberal as he aged, but he’s still really a flake and I doubt he totally “gets” the threat bitcoin represents. Unless, of course, the Empire plans to somehow take it over, but I doubt they’ve thought that far ahead.
ProPeace,
What. You. Wrote.
Totally spot-on but I have to say, reading it like that feels like a blow to the solar plexus — or at least what I imagine that would feel like. In any case, it’s totally deflating to read such a quick, concise depiction of the very real Evil we have somehow got to overcome. Whew.

They power comes from virtual monopolies on currencies (Petrodollar, BP, euro) financial services (BIG 8 Horsemen), energy (BIG OIL 4 Horsemen: Exxon, Chevron, BP, RDS, also Carlye, Halliburton) food/water supply (Bechtel, Syngenta, Monsanto), land ownership (Windors), media/information control (Disney, Murdoch,…) and control of the illegal markets for weapons (Lockheed, Boeing, Raytheon), drugs (Bush/Cheney/Clintons/Romney/Petreaus), human and organ trafficking (Kosovo, Israel), mercenaries (Academi/Greystone, that French company)
Alternative currencies are a HUGE BLOW against their power/control structure and actually form a foundation for really free markets, long overdue…
Lucky McGriff and elsi,
Whew.
