Russia expects explanations and apologies from Kiev for the fire upon Russian territory and injury of a customs officer, the Kremlin press office said.
The statement by Ukrain’s President Petro Poroshenko on a temporary ceasefire “was made, accidently or deliberately, amid the shooting upon Russian territory near the Dolzhansky checkpoint, which led to the destruction of the building and, most importantly, to the injury of a Russian customs officer,” the Kremlin said.

So Putin is offering support to al Maliki. No doub’t he has Syria on his mind as well as the Russian oil investment in Iraq. Lots going on behind the scenes – Russian foreign minister to visit Saudi Arabia next week. I am wondering if his call to Bush Sr is indicative of divisions on the direction of US policy.
Poroshenko’s ceasefire pronounced DOA by Russia as well as the militia. Provocations on the border with Ukraine. The next step will be the downing of an aircraft that strays too close to the border.
Finian Cunningham on Porochenko’s Orwellian “peace plan”: Denis Pushilin, a leader of the self-declared People’s Republic of Donetz, slammed Poroshenko’s peace plan as «idiotic». He said that he had received no details of how the plan would be implemented and that he had only learned of the proposal through media reports. Pushilin added that Kiev’s agenda amounted to: «Lay down your arms, so that we can capture you unarmed.»
A self-defence militia commander in Donetz, Mikhail Verin, was reported as saying that his men would not be surrendering their weapons. He told media that Poroshenko was «deceiving Russia and the European Union» while playing for time to consolidate forces for further attacks.
Another member of the defence militia dismissed the amnesty proposed by Poroshenko. The man, dressed in military fatigues and carrying a rifle, shrugged with resignation, saying: «Where will we go? They [the Kiev regime] have already said they will put us all in concentration camps.»
If confirmed, this wasn’t ‘accidental’ fire in the course of ‘hot pursuit’ of NAF, this was Ukrainian forces attacking Russian border guards inside Russia and is a clear casus belli. Based on this and Juan and Strelkov’s growing confidence it’s now only a matter of days before Russia directly intervenes in one form or another:

Petri Krohn and this Ukie source are correct. After a whole hell of a lot of Kiev and NATO lies about the T-64s being from Russia’s old stocks as opposed to either being bribed from the Ukrainian Army or captured, it looks like Russian vehicles actually have finally crossed the wide open borders of Lugansk region. It also appears that the successful capture of a kazerne full of 240+ T-72s and other equipment may have given the NAF cover to receive equipment and tankers from Russia with spare parts to get more armor up and running. Porky’s cease fire after the provocation and mortaring of a Russian border post appears to be a last ditch effort to avoid a rebel offensive (with quasi-covert Russian help) timed for…I guessed it…the anniversary of Operation Bagration this weekend.
I’m still wondering if this is all real or if the Ukrainians are partly faking a Russian invasion in order to provoke the real thing while saying Porky had offered peace and ceasefire through June 27 (incidentally the date Ukie sources tweeted last night they think the rebels are expecting a Russian invasion).
The only photo of an Iskander they provide is clearly from the Russian side of the border, and the Ukie ministry claim that they caught one in rebel hands is nonsensical because there’s NFW Russia would risk such a high value weapons system by simply driving it across the border when almost any target in mainland Ukraine is well within 350 km radius of Crimea or Russian border regions.

Earlier I just left a blunt comment to you Saker telling you that you’re plain wrong regarding: Russia has only to 2 options: 1-Let Banderstan extend to the Russian Border or 2-Russia intervenes overtly.
Well if this ANNA news summary is even mildly accurate (221 tanks, 228 APCs, 12 Self-Propelled guns, 18 Grad launchers, 183 IFVs, and 12 Mortars in the hands of the DNR) then the option I presented (with is for Russia to scale-up the covert support in both weaponry and Supplies) seems to be vindicated (even if 2/3s of the equipment delivered by Russia (or shall we say, captured by DNR) is non-operational, this is a huge scaling of the insurgency against the Criminal Junta). Russia has many options before even considering an overt option.
A Russian covert option drains Russia’s enemy, a Russian Overt option risks draining Russia. You ratchet pressure according the context of the battle-space. You neutralize your enemy’s objectives by not giving them what they strategically want (no matter how tactically tempting).

Let us remind ourselves of the recent resolution adopted by PACE on Ukraine, which states that, «none of the arguments used by the Russian Federation to justify its actions hold true to facts and evidence. There was no ultra-right wing takeover of the central government in Kyiv, nor was there any imminent threat to the rights of the ethnic Russian minority in the country, including, or especially, in Crimea». According to Europe, apparently, the severed legs and heads of innocent civilians in Donbass, the demolished hospitals, and the tens of thousands of refugees do not pose a threat to «the ethnic Russian minority». So, is there any need for Russia to continue subjecting itself to humiliation from those who aid and abet war criminals?
We often talk about Slaviansk and Strelkov here but i got a good piece of news coming to me at night, about the “reasons” of Poroshenko “cease-fire”.
I was seing that as another provocation from Ukies toward Russia as anyone here, but it seems i was mistaken.
Seems like Ukie gens did a bit of a mistake not to call it an utter strategic mess in their plan of “cirlcing” donetsk and re-securing the frontier.
My source said they totally underestimated militias forces on the east side of Donetsk and Lugansk and are in a very shitty situation where their only retreat path is toward Russia.
That’s why Poroshenko did propose his “unilateral ceasefire” and and launch a big attack on Slaviansk surroundings and west side of Donetsk.
The rebels told him to piss of though and intensified their ops on east side to push Ukies in wide Russian open arms across the border.
This morning 80 border guards crossed the border and are in Russian Custody.
Concerning the artemivsk thing of tank depot taking that Anna news talked about yesterday i got no confirmation; but a column with 7 T64BV with some infantry and support is trying to break through Slaviansk from Donetsk.
yesterday news but accurate i got a Juan of my own.
Concerning the alert of RUssian troops from the central region and the moving and going away from border, dont forget it s summer time, no doubt Putin would never had them removed if it wasnt. Even central region troops are half a day away from Ukraine during summer, (in winter it could take days).
I’m not sure about it but if i were to bet a ruble, i would say that if rebels can push the part of ukie army that is stuck between donetsk lugansk and the border to retreat to Russia, it would be an extremely good reason for Russia to invade.
My source said they totally underestimated militias forces on the east side of Donetsk and Lugansk and are in a very shitty situation where their only retreat path is toward Russia.
This is what I tried to say a couple of days ago, and some people here dismissed it because they did not grasp what was going on. The planners behind the NAF rebellion have placed Strelkov in a very forward position that is strategically located as follows:
1) In front of and in the path to Donetsk and Lugansk. 2) With near limitless (as far as a volunteer militia goes) cache of arms, ammo, and armor in Soledar and Artemvisk drectly behind him. 3) In two cities large enough to hve a goodly supply of fighting men and be a death cauldron like Stalingrad for any force trying to take it, and large enough to hold out for a long time like Odessa, Sevastopol, and Leningrad in WWII. 4) Easily able to harass Ukrainian rear supply/communication lines from the main railhead/road point of Kharkov via Izyum.
While Strelkov made sure almost all attention of the Ukrainian armed “farces”, news media, national guard, etc. was focused on him in the approrpirately named Slavyansk (oh no! A GRU/FSB Colonel/War Enactor/Russian Spy/Infiltrator etc. running the Donbass rebellion! Get him!), native Donbass and Russian volunteer forces in the rear have created extremely large and battle tested Vostok Batallion, Southeast Army, etc. in Donetsk and Lugansk, attacked the two airports to ensure an inability for easy Ukrainian access into their territory, and gone about aquiring equipment and armor for these militia armies and securing key facilities such as Ukraine’s only manufacturer of ammunition in Lugansk.
With this done, the LC forces attacked and defeated the border guards HQ in Lugansk and then both LC and DNR attacked the border posts with Russia simultaneously and literally blew up the entire Ukrainian border from north of Lugansk to south of Amvrosiikva, establishing an area of operations about 100 miles square in Donbass.
A big show was then put on nightly of trucks, tanks, men etc. “infiltrating” from Russia. God and the NAF alone only knows what was actually going on, as for all I know, they could have just been running the same group of equipment acquired from Ukraine around in cricles from Sverdlovsk to Donetsk to draw Ukrainian attention to the border and away from the DNR/LC heartland or to mask the real levels of cross border movements and cause confusion. This show, complete with lots of YouTube films and the obvious loss of border control and defection of border troops drew in Ukrainian military attention and they decided to try a pincer movement along the border to reestablish border control and stop the flow of men and material from Rostov and encircle the rebellion. DNR and LC purposefully fell back and allowed the pincers to move along the border for some distance, and now, as you say, have unleashed attacks that are cutting off and isolating the forward spear of the pincers from their rear supply lines, leaving powerful Ukrainian forces trapped between the Russian border and a much larger DNR/LC force than they realized was present. If these forces are successfully trapped, they will be pinned along the border dozens of miles from the real front lines and with the only way out captivity in Russia or attempting a dangerous fighting breakthrough from the pocket to reach the M03/E40 Highway back to Kharkov, having to pass through Strelkov’s area of control to do so. They can’t just turn around away from the border and cutting off forces behind the DNR/LC forces, because they would have to [pass through Lugansk and Donetsk to escape, and it is improbable they could fight through these two cities.
This should get interesting if the pincers can be held entrapped. Just because you have some tanks and love Nazi ideology and are rolling through Ukraine, you are not General Heinz Guderian leading the 2nd Panzerkorps.

It s already out on Itar Tass:

@TheKrauzerII: Thanks for your interesting comment. Can you please email me at vineyardsaker@gmail.com or vineyardsaker@mail.ru?

Thanks much for the link to Sergei Glazyev on the militarization of the Ukraine ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nWT5HM_NMlI ).
Would love to hear Saker’s interpretation of this.
The Krauzer II:

Andrew and Krauzer, thank you for your posts. Fascinating.
This is in Russian. It is really, really alarming
