About 15 years ago, “natural selection”-based oligarchic capitalism started being developed in Ukraine: oligarchs devoured small and medium businesses, as well as state-owned assets. As resources of primitive accumulation were going to be exhausted, oligarchs began to devour each other by means of administrative pressure, raider attacks, corrupt courts, trumped-up charges and, if necessary, murder. This process was quite similar to a fight of scorpions in a can.
After the 2014 coup, this “natural selection” fight sharply escalated. Such oligarchs as Dmitry Firtash fizzled out, whereas other oligarchs are still struggling to survive. For instance, Ukraine’s former oligarch n.1, Rinat Akhmetov, has been already eliminated from the world’s 100 richest people list: according to Bloomberg, he dropped from 88th to 121th place. Just last year, Akhmetov’s wealth decreased by 4.3 billion USD and dropped down to 9.6 billion USD.
Be that as it may, only two scorpions succeeded in coming through to the final battle: Petr Poroshenko and Igor’ Kolomoisky…
Even if evaluating Poroshenko’s position in the business world became a somewhat difficult task after his election, it’s still possible to say something about Kolomoisky’s.
Let’s see the latest news about him. On February 19, it was reported that Kolomoisky’s company shares, traded on the London Stock Exchange, had lost a quarter of their value just in a day. We are talking about oil-and-gas company JKX Oil & Gas (hereinafter – JKX), which is registered in the UK. Well, its blocking stake (27.47 %) belongs to an offshore structure called Eclairs Group Ltd. Eclairs. As Nagel Moore, Chairman of the Board of Directors, reported last spring in a letter to the shareholders, this company was registered “through an intricate network of offshore trusts” in the British Virgin Islands, its 59.1% share is owned by Kolomoisky, the remainder belongs to Ukrainian oligarch and Kolomoisky’s closest business partner Gennady Bogoljubov and his family.
As for the 19 February losses, the largest slump in JKX stock prices was recorded in the middle of the day: 34 % below its opening price, whereas there was a 25% rate to the end of the day. According to a Reuters survey, at the beginning of February JKX had a market capitalization of 90 mln USD. The company operates mainly in the Ukraine (85% of revenues).
JKX has also assets in Russia, Hungary and Slovakia. In Ukraine JKX holds “Poltava Petroleum Company” (PPC), which is licensed to develop Novo-Nicholas complex’s oil-and-gas fields in Poltava region, as well as to explore the potential of Zaplavskoe, Elizavetskoe and Chervonojarski-Vostochnoe oil fields.
Analysts attributed the JKX February 19 stock collapse to Russian investment group Proxima Capital, which, after two weeks of careful consideration, eventually gave up its initial intention to acquire JKX. The reasons of such a choice are quite understandable: JKX has been rapidly losing ground all last year. As of February 4, company’s securities had a 73% price loss in comparison with the same activities in the previous year. In absolute terms, we’re talking about a 250 million USD loss.
Kolomoisky invested millions of dollars in JKX a few years ago, hoping to turn them into billions in a short time. The company was expected to do business in dealing with shale fields. In 2013, JKX launched a major multistage fracturing project, which is still considered to be the largest in Europe. According to experts, this project was going to lead the country to an environmental disaster, with consequences spreading far outside Ukraine and affecting Russia as well as neighboring countries in Europe. But chaos started in Ukraine soon after the project had been launched and JKX’s plans were thwarted. An important role was also played by oil-price collapse, which made a great deal of shale projects unfeasible.
To Kolomoisky (an Israeli citizen) and his company is related another, even more interesting story. JKX, which is controlled by Kolomoisky and is based in UK, recently filed a 180 million USD lawsuit against Ukraine government for violation of the European laws concerning the Energy Charter and several bilateral investment protection agreements (both signed by Ukraine with the United Kingdom and the Netherlands ).
JKX applied to the International Court of Arbitration, seeking compensation for the oil-and-gas exploitation rental payments, which the Ukrainian division of JKX «has been illegally compelled” to pay out since 2011.
As it was stated in the lawsuit, official Kiev, though not being able to fulfill such obligations, guaranteed JKX “stable and fair” investment conditions. Bilateral agreements were intended to protect foreign investors from the growth of tax burden, as well as from any other change in the “rules of the game” in the oil-and-gas sector in Ukraine.
However, Kiev suddenly increased rental fee royalties from 28% to 55% for oil and gas deposits, reaching a depth limit of five kilometers. In addition to that, there were imposed some other toughening conditions concerning taxes and rental payments, that had not been fixed in the initial agreements. In mid-January 2015, the arbitration held in Stockholm Chamber of Commerce confirmed that the company’s rental fee should not exceed 28%. Official Kiev did not respond to this decision at all.
It’s funny that Kolomoisky, who has been holding the post of Dnipropetrovsk region governor since March 2004, is making such high demands of the same power he belongs to. He is accustomed to making money through the use of “administrative resources”, anyway. If the International Arbitration Court upholds the claim of JKX as well as of the Ukrainian ” beneficiaries” behind it (namely, Kolomoisky and Bogoljubov), Kolomoisky will make pretty sure through all of his “administrative resources ” that Ukrainian treasury fulfils the Court’s decision and pays the necessary “compensation” .
Igor Kolomoisky should be viewed as the perfect type of parasite that feeds on state treasury. Here it is a recent example. “Naftogaz Ukrainy” (dealing with oil extraction, transportation and refining) is the largest state-owned company in Ukraine. “Naftogaz” controls a number of subsidiaries, whose parent company has a full (100 %) share capital or controlling stakes. One of “Naftogaz”’s most famous “daughter” in ukrainian oil-and-gas market is the company “Ukrnafta”, whose 51% share capital is owned by “Naftogaz”, i.e., formally “Ukrnafta” belongs to the category of state-owned companies. But only formally. Because it is actually run by Kolomoisky’s trusted people. So, on February 10 Kolomoisky’s management team of the state-owned “Ukrnafta ” filed a lawsuit against the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, the Ministry of Economy and the Energy Ministry. “Ukrnafta” is pressing for the disaffirmation of the 16 October 2014 Ukrainian Governments decree on the allotment of four “Naftogaz” representatives into the auction committee for the sale of crude oil, condensated and liquefied gas. “Ukrnafta” is also expecting the exclusion of these representatives.
Verkhovna Rada’s Deputy Serhiy Leshchenko disclosed the reasons of such a strange claim by a state-owned company to state-run public authorities:
“Before filing that claim, Kolomoisky has exhibited ‘Ukrnafta’ resources in fictitious (in essence) stock exchange market auctions for many months. These resources were bought by Kolomoisky’s companies on a non-competitive basis at the starting price (even with a 15 per cent allowance!). Kolomoisky’s savings and state-owned “Ukrnafta”’s losses amounted to 0.5-1 billion hryvnias at each auction”. According to Leshchenko, last week Kolomoisky was denied any allowance and was prevented from holding an auction, where oil was calculated at the rate of 15 hryvnias for one dollar (at a real exchange rate of more than 23 hryvnias). “That’s why now “Ukrnafta” is sabotaging a new auction, where oil is going to be sold at real market rate. It could seem to be an absurd approach, because “Ukrnafta” is depriving itself of additional profit. However, there is no absurdity at all: actually, state assets, no longer hiding, are working in the interests of “patriot” Kolomoisky”.
Last year, Kolomoisky suffered serious losses in different fields and became much poorer. Only in Crimea, he estimated his own losses at 2 billion USD. To these figures we must add the arrests of some other assets in Russia and loss of assets in south-eastern Ukraine. According to “Forbes”, in early 2015 his fortune was estimated at 1.3 billion USD (whereas two years earlier it reached 2.4 billion USD) . Although Kolomoisky became poorer, other Ukrainian oligarchs are losing their money even faster. In order to somehow compensate for his losses, Kolomoisky is showing some quite remarkable resourcefulness. He is cunning and ruthless. It is not even excluded that he will succeed in eating that other big parasite Poroshenko. What next?
Well, then there will be nothing to devour anymore. Economy and State will be destroyed completely in Ukraine. According to experts, Ukraine’s overall production will fall from 10 to 20 percent in the current year. And then Ukraine will be affected by a very different, world-caliber kind of parasites, who will expropriate anything Kolomoisky managed to steal. In other words, present-day Ukrainian expropriators will be expropriated in their turn. Ukraine and Ukrainian oligarchs are a visual aid for those who want to study “natural selection” processes in a world of predators.

So, you are fluent in Russian?
Your little HTH corrections could be perceived as obnoxious.
Katherine
They are perceived that way by me,at least. It’s time he stopped with the “grammar police routine” .

good one.
I concur. No need to police the grammar.
I no only English, but I have two say I apreciate the corections to, mispellings, and gammar cinse am such a stikler four it had been doing right me myslfe. I wood might not see a wrong way rite away if it wasnt pointed out buy Mstr. Rich and then woke up in the night from sleeping how it distrubed me when I though of it.
Braffo :-! You the idea haff :-!
Personally, I prefer the translation as it is without your corrections. I like the cadence that comes from translating the source language into English, wherein the words are often arranged differently in the sentence structure, and volunteer translators under time constraints often just have to get the words and phrases translated, and then see how it all hangs together. I would not want them to go back and be perfectionist editors if this would mean delaying publication of this very timely material.
It’s the same with Saker’s typos and occasional grammar inconsistencies. His syntax is actually very good, he’s a very lucid writer, but he has no time because he wants to rush the material to us, to help us. The elegance of his writing still shines through, as does the writing ability of many of these authors that we’ve been so privileged to have translated for us as a gift.
My two cents, in this polyglot age :)
I agree, Grieved; thanks for saying it.
Daniel Rich, like you I really enjoy good grammar and doing it right, but it seems nowadays that it’s best to confine that particular pleasure to your own writings (when you have the time). In my high school days we took years of Latin & ever since I’ve had a fascination with diagramming sentences. Oh well. . . .
Regards
I second *Grieved*’s emotion…precisely. And Penelope nailed it too. It takes a real unappreciative wacko to nitpick the Saker when he’s giving us all he’s got. Rain on you, Daniel Rich- you’re a petty little b*sturd.
Please stop your endless moaning about corrections.
Or have you become the self appointed ‘grammar Nazi’ just like Jerry Seinfield’s ‘soup Nazi’?
My above comment was for Daniel Rich.
Looks like many other also find his harping obnoxious.
‘Enough already Daniel’
Don’t y’all love this freedom of speech thing? Anyway, these are notes to the editor and not meant to be published, but it’s good to see where you’re all coming from.
Mods can only edit comments, and we do that very rarely. Post authors don’t see the comments in moderation. People expressing irritation with something is freedom of speech too.
@ Vineyard Moderator – K.K.
Q; People expressing irritation with something is freedom of speech too.
R; That’s very true. By the looks of it the irritation must run skin deep and that ain’t good.
But sorry, I thought you guys could forward comments [to the editor, in this case]. If that’s not the case, I’ll stop ‘irritating’ people and find another way. No problem.
Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the law.
Pretty sure that those who still have learning to do appreciate the lift. Those that like to smugly chop people off at the feet might better spend their reflection upon their own growth opportunities.
@ BigD,
I like your philosophy. Thanks.
The deeper meaning of the sentence is lost in your correction. I am not a native English speaker, but… here it goes, as I understood it:
“To Kolomoisky (an Israeli citizen) and his company, [it] is related another, even more interesting story.”
The translator just omitted the pronoun “it”, which is something that is often done in many languages. The semantic purpose of omitting “it” is to refocus the reader on Kolomoisky.
…
However, “it” has already written Kolomoisky’s destiny. “It” is the Divine Providence, the whimsical Judge of Natural Selection, to which every cursed man must bow. It is obvious to me that the good Judge has no place on Earth for a “rational” and “enlightened” Humankind, when human “reason” has trashed, again and again, its own and proper purpose.
Why not offer your services and insert yourself as a proof-reader in the blogs pre-publishing workflow ?
Very good proposal :-) (btw, I’m the translator of this article. I apologize for my weak English, if anything)
The taming and dispossession of the Ukrainian oligarchs:—
After all, ultimately it would be the Ukrainian oligarchs who were responsible for that dismantling
of the Ukrainian professional military, and surrendering all [or maybe not quite all] of the Ukrainian
nuclear weapons, and leaving the country basically defenseless and unprepared, even while Russia was reconstituting its military forces right across the border.
What were the Ukrainian oligarchs thinking? Maybe Ukraine had a secretive nuclear arsenal, some dozen tactical nuclear weapons, that would supposedly forever deter any overt Russian invasion and reconquest, and then maybe the disarmament was supposed to make Ukraine “harmless”, and that would deter any Russian aggression,—and the pursuit of a somnolent and seemingly very stagnant economic policy, no aggressive expansion of industries or anything in the economy, that also would make Ukraine “harmless” and economically nonthreatening.
This entire approach did not work.—Perhaps one major factor in all the commotion is that there has been launched an overall campaign by the Russian oligarchs to eliminate the Ukrainian oligarchs and just kick them down and out.—The Russian oligarchs enlisted Putin & Co. to do that, and Putin & Co. indeed found a way to start on this project. Thus the Russian annexation of Crimea drastically cut down the wealth of some Ukrainian oligarchs, apparently Kolomoiskyi in particular. The stubbornness of the Novorussians and their entire rebellion is in effect a bid to kick out the Ukrainian oligarchs and bring in the Russian ones, eventually.—I would doubt that any bizarre synthesis by the Novorussians of Russian Orthodox religion with neo-stalinism [as reflected in at least one website I visited recently], that this will really prevail.
If the Russian oligarchs take over, then presumably the sovereign state of Ukraine will be finished,
and there will be a tremendous “kulturkampf” as the Germans would say, an effort to obliterate all traces of distinct Ukrainian culture, the language, the art, the Kyivan Rus symbolism and the “Galician” symbolism, all literature, music, it will all be labelled as “nazi” or “fascist”. Another effort would be made to outlaw and obliterate the so-called “uniate” Ukrainian/Greek/Byzantine Catholic Church, and I figure that the real objections to this institution, so strident, are that it stands at least in theory for Ukrainian sovereignty, no masters whatsoever over Ukraine and Ukrainians,
even though that notion of no masters may still be more dream than reality. I doubt that the commotion over the “uniate” church has to do with obscure concepts of whether or not the Pope should be the head of the church, since the Pope’s doctrinal pronouncements are not enforced by any secret police or moral police [like sharia law is enforced in Muslim countries], and so their influence on ordinary lives of ordinary people is only voluntary and marginally practical.
Like for instance, there would be much more practical effect on people whether most of them predominantly function by the grace-energy of creativity in liberty and peace [the “kingdom of heaven” actually preached by Lord Jesus as reflected in His sayings and examples recorded in the Gospels] or do they function predominantly by energies of rage and strife, or fear and terror, or idolatry, the willingness to kill or die for some idol of a “cause”.
Those are the practical concrete influences and factors in society.

Don’t see Russian oligarchs in that bunch.

Sure, maybe that would be the honest hope for a Ukrainian patriot, since the EU passport seems further and further away.

Needless to say, I do not like policies of the Ukrainian oligarchs,—that’s why I entitled the article
“taming the oligarchs”.—But somebody in Ukraine surely fell asleep at the wheel.
The extent and intensity of what amounts to profound hatred of Ukrainians and Ukraine is really
astounding, including hatred of the Ukrainian language, and of course the whole culture along with that ranging from music, literature, art, etc.,—I mean will somebody someday blow up
the Cathedral of Holy Wisdom [Saint Sofia] in Kyiv because ancestors of Ukrainians built it?
And I’m not saying that would be the Russians!—But looks like indeed, certain nationalities out there have their very validity and right to exist challenged, being notably, the Jews [Khazar or Hebrew], the Kurds, the Palestinians, the Tibetans, and also the Ukrainians.
I suppose its just wishful thinking, but somehow, if the Russian oligarchs got the Ukraine, it seems like things might get better for the poor Ukrainians, who can’t (or won’t) get out.
why do you think Russian Oligarchs may be better than any other oligarch? oligarchy itself is the problem.
Ukrainians are “West Russians”. So other than slight tweaks of regional culture their culture is just plain “Rus”.The only distinct differences, are some far Westerners are Uniate (from being forced in the 16th century to convert.Over the centuries it took with them) and have a morbid fascination with racism, nazis, and looking down on their neighbors.Mainly because the other Ukrainians don’t speak the Western Ukraine’s Polish influenced slang like you do.That and of course because the others are satisfied with being “Rus”,while you guys want to pretend your Polish or German.
Uncle Bob 1:
Galicians were not “forced to convert” to Uniate Catholicism in the 16th century. The Unia of Brest in 1596 concerned Russian dioceses inside the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth in the Belarus, Kiev, Volyn, and Vilnius area. The Galicians did not join the Unia until the 1700’s.
Since they did not join it in 1596, obviously no one was “forced to convert” at that time, otherwise they all would have joined then.
Similarly, the Unia of Uzhorod in Transcarpathia occurred in 1646. But the remaining Orthodox in Hungary and Transylvania did not join until the 1700’s (and even then, all the peole never joined), and the Serbs and Romanian Orthodox in southern Transylvania, Banat and Slavonia never joined the Unia despite being part of Hungary just like the Carpathian Russians and Transylvania Romanians. So again, its clear no one was being “forced to convert” otherwise everyone would have.
The Unia were an action of the Bishops, not the people. The Bishops negotiated the Unia with Rome and Warsaw. The people just went to Liturgy at their parish like they always had, and its wrong to blame the people for what followed for just being simple Christians following the commandments. They became Catholic over time by imbibing what their Bishops and priests taught concerning obedience to Rome vs. union with Moscow and Constantinople.
The only forced conversion on record of the Uniates is their forced reversion to Orthodoxy after WWII by Stalin. Its obvious this was forced because granting for the sake of argument the assumption that no reversion was possible inside the Austro-Hungarian Empire (an officially Catholic state whose Emperor was officially considered the Roman Emperor by the Vatican and who had a veto over the selection of the Pope) after WWI, the Carpathian Russians were living in Czechoslovakia lead by the anti-clerical Czechs and did not revert, the Romanian Uniates were living in Orthodox Romania and did not revert, the Hungarian Uniates were living in an independent and mixed-confessional Hungary (Hungary has long had a large Calvinist and Unitarian population, as do the Szekley Hungarians in Transylvania) and did not revert, and the Galician Uniates were living in Poland side-by-side with Orthodox Ukrainians in Volyn and Orthodox Belarussians in western Belarus and did not revert. Once forcibly reverted to union with Moscow and Constantinople, these Uniate Churches maintained their seperate identity underground in the Soviet Union and in communist Romania as a mass popular movement, and when there was the first whiff of the possibility of freedom of religion hinted at in the mid-1980’s already at that time re-emerged from underground.
Ukraine’s Nuclear Weapons – Ukraine never had operational control over them, only physical possession. Operational control remained in Moscow. Can’t do much without activation codes.
Ukrainian Nationalism of the Uniate Church – the Galicians were pro-Russian prior to WWI. All of their cultural organs, political parties and the like were called “Russian this and that”. Ukrainian nationalism, such as it is, started among the Cossacks in Sloboda Ukraine (centered in central Ukraine in the Poltava area). Why not look up where Taras Shevcehnko comes from? It wasn’t Galicia.
Ukr Sovereignty was a joint conspiracy of the German High Command and the Communists. The Communists proclaimed the Ukrainian Rada and made the Urkainian SSR, and they insisted Ukraine was a real nation deserving a seat in the UN, and they insisted on having Ukrainian language instruction in schools. The Galicians proclaimed their own state separate from Ukraine during the decomposition of Austria-Hungary.
The Galicians also did not view being Catholic as an impediment to being Russian. Great Ukr Nationalism had to be exported to Western Ukraine and imposed on the people there by the Austrians and Germans during WWI, since the Galicians were not aware they were not Russian, seeing as they called themselves “Russkij”. The Uniate Church in Galicia only adopted official Ukrainian for worship services in the 1960’s. These are all facts that are easily looked up if you are interested in the history of Lvov and Ternopil and the Carpathian Russians.
Excellent reply! especially referencing the Carpatho-Russians.
There was in the 1800s a Society of Father Kachkovsky in Galicia, to promote Russian heritage against the Austrian Empire assimilationist trends, and in Carpatho-Russia south under Hungarian rule, the Society of St. Basil the Great to do the same. Many patriots such as Father Alexander Duchnovich always thought of themselves as Russian (adjective form “russkij” = noun form “rusin”) and still do.
I was over there just months before the Maidan movement started in 2013, and observed that the Ukrainian government — even under Yanukovich, who is considered pro-Russian but wasn’t really so — forbade the publication of Russian-language periodicals, which the people would much prefer to the Galician country dialect. The supposedly democratic Ukraine is using the tactics of 19th-century dictatorships. No wonder there is a rebellion in southeast Ukraine (which WAS inside Russia until 1922).
“Ukraine’s Nuclear Weapons – Ukraine never had operational control over them, only physical possession.”
Some of a wry disposition may ask – Do you mean like the British then? Remembering that the British gave money for Polaris and perhaps are minded to for Trident.
Or like NATO’s re-aramament policy including design convergence and standards?
A lot of Kolon-moishe’s wealth is derived from drug trafficking/human organ traffic and other sick illegal gangster crap, He’s Jewish mafia to the core, so much of his “wealth” is under the table. Same for the amount of backing he’s got. If the freak wants to unseat “caesar” Porkshank, it cant hurt…there is no way to hide the freak is a common gangster and about as sellable as John Wayne Gacy.
Bok Tak, please don’t spoil your usually sensible points with wild gossip. What evidence do you have for drug or organ trafficking by Kolomoisky? you think the guy is a criminal, those are the most criminal things you can think of, so you’re accusing him of doing them??? that’s not how evidence works.
Those activities are small beer, low profit for a lot of work. Much easier to occupy a few factory offices until the owners sign over half ownership to you. Let a half State owned company (which you control) sell produce at a loss, to companies fully owned by you, which then make all the profits on it. Pay no tax because they are foreign-registered.
I don’t know about Kolomoisky. How he started his empire out.I wouldn’t doubt he has connections with those businesses.Since we know from reports that Poroshenko started his climb to the top through the “White Slave” business. And working with his father as a bag man for the local mafia.I wouldn’t put anything past Kolomoisky. If the President has that kind of past ,why not him.
Kat Kan
What evidence do you have for drug or organ trafficking by Kolomoisky?
I’ve posted at least one Sputnik/RT article in the last couple of weeks on major Russian drug trafficking busts being traced to your Kolon-moishe. Look it up yourself. As for the human organ trafficking, numerous examples of this in the former Ukraine documented here on this site. Look them up yourself. The connections between the Jewish mafia, your Kolon-moishe, and the involvement of the worldwide Jewish mafia, look it up yourself, as well. Being what he is, and the organ traffic business in your junta’s former Ukraine being what it is, trying to cover for Jewish mafia Kolon-moishe is like trying to clear Capone of tax dodging. Good luck with that, Grasshopper. :D
Well said Bot.

how do you know? you didn’t actually see anyone place the bombs – but you still know.
A million things have come together to enable your consciousness to form the correct worldview.
Open your mind a little. Don’t spoil your usually sensible points with wild gossip.
Could one of you experts please enlighten me about this organs business?
What organs are involved? where do they get them? how are they transported? what is the demand for them? how do they match to recipients before the organ becomes unusable? what are the costs and what is the profit?
I’m asking because what I’ve seen described — taking individuals to another country to donate one kidney — seem a very slow inefficient way to try making a billion dollars.
@ Kat Kan,
Maybe this helps link to Organ Trafficking Prices and Kidney Sales.
Thank you but I wish people would read links before posting them. That gives the SELLER price in Ukraine as $200,000 based on a single case of DOCTORS selling them. And that seems to be the cost to have them installed, so that kind of price would not be available to someone who is not a doctor and doesn’t have an operating theatre to do it in.
Nothing about what kidney OWNERS usually get, or how and where the surgery is done, or what volume of sales are feasible. And they keep talking of “organs” when 99.9% seem to be kidneys. Why not call it kidney trafficking?
To do this you need the clinic and surgeons, then you need a list of recipients with all their medical details, then you need to somehow find MATCHING DONORS and then do the big travel-agent thing getting them together.
Heck of a lot easier money to strong-arm a couple of filling station owners out of their business, not paying the taxes, using that money to buy cheap shares in a State enterprise just being “privatised” by other crooks.
How much would you pay a freshly killed corpse,? There are many in Ukraine from which to choose. Never let a good crisis go to waste.
There have been stories floating around, IIRC on Saker’s site as, about roving team of harvesting. Shoudn’t be too hard to look up, I wouldn’t be waiting for any confessions from the usual suspects.
Well that is just it. The kidney has to be well perfused with blood when removed (body lying around for a few hours is no good, body that dies from bleeding out, eg from limbs blown off, also no good). Then it has to be on ice (where do you get that on the battlefield, say in summer?) and then transported and put into the recipient within 24 hours. Oh and it has to be matching blood and tissue type, too, rather hard to ascertain when there is no blood to take for testing.
Normally, numerous blood and urine tests are done on the donor over days, the recipient is called in, and both are prepared for surgery at the same time, even if they are in different cities. In such a case the kidney is delivered as fast as possible, to the extent of timing the removal operation to catch the next plane with it.
Organ donations from a dead person are done only if they die in hospital, when “life support” is immediately connected to keep the organs flushed with oxygenated blood until they’re ready to remove them.
You MAY be able to get thin-skin grafts from a body dead for 4 hours. Otherwise the only thing they’re b good for is bone, and that only because bone is mineral, not usually supplied with blood except in the marrow, and this is all washed out. The bone is carved to shape and used just as a base for the recipient’s own bone to grow into.
You can NOT get usable transplant organs from battlefield bodies. This is a matter of science, not a Night of the Zombies movie.
That said, what might become of seriously wounded soldiers in some field hospitals, well that is another matter in a country where 1000’s are buried unidentified. However there has not been even a whiff of rumour from the hospitals. They haven’t had medicines for basic emergency surgery, never mind for organ removal.
It has all been ghoulish and thoroughly ignorant atrocity stories based on a few long-dead roughly buried bodies which had decomposed, or suffered animal damage on top of war wounds or torture injuries.
That was quite a load of specious wordsmithing, Kit Kat.

They are trafficking organs /kidneys because it MUST bring them a lot of wealth. Obviously they are not doing it for ” the love of humanity”. It’s a *ring of organ traffickers*. How they go about it I have no idea but the fact is that the Israeli Jews and other Jews do it for lots of money.Or you think they get into businesses( whatever they may be) that will not make great profits for them???
You don’t seem to have yet learned that Jews are excellent and very clever business people.
You would think I didn’t have to tell you that ancient fact.

There’s also claims of Syrian refugees being used for their organs in Turkey. Turkey & Israel are the main notables in the organ trade. Turks have been caught red-handed. Poor Ukrainians and Moldovians have been in the news for selling their kidneys for money over the past 15-20 years.
Yeah, poor people selling for a few hundred dollars, or refugees being conned into giving away or killed for them. That is not the same as wandering around picking up corpses on the battlefield, which is the context this keeps being brought up in., “whacky do! look at all those fresh corpses how good the the organ trade”. .
Give it a rest guys.
Kit Kat
Considering all the discussion last summer here about human organ harvesting in the Ukraine, your claims there has never been any evidence of it, when I and others did post material discussing evidence of it, makes it obvious that you are simply trying to waste people’s time with your denials and specious strawman arguments. It’s a common technique.
Yes, in Turkey there is one hospital where they transfer likely young, not-too-injured Syrians. And there, the specialty is in removing organs. I wrote about it more than a year ago, but no longer have any links. There were statistics of how many organs had been transplanted in this hospital before the war compared to how many during the war. Quite horrifying.
Nigeria is also known for “tourist transplants”. The magazine JemimaNigeria carries one serious article each edition– covering such horrors as e-bola, e-bola hoax, Monsanto taking land via Boko Haram’s ethnic cleansing, ovarian egg-harvesting, and organ-harvesting.
Kat Kan I remember early on in the war that when areas previously occupied by Kolomoisky’s forces were vacated there were graves with bodies missing organs.
I don’t know what sort of kit or transportation might have been required, but I think there are hospitals only a short drive away.
Penelope
If I remember right, they were working out of something similar to a mobile field hospital.
Also, the organ harvesters worked out of hospitals. See:

Last paragraph says…
“And then Ukraine will be affected by a very different, world-caliber kind of parasites, who will expropriate anything Kolomoisky managed to steal.”
Who are these world – calibers kind of parasites? The US , EU ? Any explanation will be appreciated. Thank you.
well, someone above mentioned Russian Oligarchs…but I would have thought it was the west.
My personal introduction to this topic was a very old article by investigative reporter, Robert I. Friedman (now deceased). If we read this at least, we see that country names or nationalities are irrelevant. Global crime syndicates are just that: Global. Quote a few excerpts,
“The freelance journalist, known as Robbie to friends, has been working the Mafia beat since the mid-1980s…. In an August column, the Washington Post’s David Ignatius credited Friedman with groundbreaking reporting on the Russian mob that led to national headlines last year on an alleged $10 billion money-laundering scheme through the Bank of New York.
“It’s now what we call a ‘feeding frenzy,’ with news organizations scrambling to add new morsels of information,” Ignatius wrote. “For years, Friedman was out there nearly alone — risking his life to tell a story that no one seemed to want to hear.”
In a January 1996 cover story for New York magazine titled “The Money Plane,” Friedman wrote the following lead: “Five nights a week, at least $100 million in crisp new $100 bills is flown from JFK nonstop to Moscow, where it is used to finance the Russian mob’s vast and growing international crime syndicate. State and federal officials believe it is part of a multi-billion-dollar money-laundering operation. The Republic National Bank and the United States Federal Reserve prefer not to think so.”
Of course, it’s not all about Russia — DC & NYC and dog only knows wherever — are perfectly happy with these things. Unquote the entitled,

I think, this is a befitting trtubie to Rod.When i read about his death two days ago,it was shocking to me,to know that he is no more.Writing about the fond memories of him is touching and nostalgic. I recall a good number of times when i do listen to the Friday expanded edition of the Sonny Side Of Sports, and Sonny at the end of the show would give thanks to Rod for helping. Reflecting on his death has made me remember once again, the words of Thomas A Kempis that A very little while and all will be over with us here, see then how matters stand for a man is here today, and tomorrow he is gone. And when he is taken out of sight,he is quickly also out of mind. Thus death is the end of all and man’s life passes suddenly like a shadow . I pray that God grants him and all the dead in Christ eternal rest.
Carmel by the Sea,
The world-class parasitic expropriators are the global banking cabal and biggest transnat’l corps. They tell the Ukrainian oligarchs that they need to “improve their management” by letting Western looters buy in at bargain rates. This is the way that Ukrainian oligarchs buy protection for their enterprises. Here are two links that explain all the looting, although plans have changed since E Ukraine was bombed out.

This article shows one thing for sure: bankers and lawyers always win. It’s hard to say which are more repugnant, allowing of course for the good ones, all twenty of them. I exaggerate of course to make a point. I guess that’s why we have so many lawyer jokes. But why so few banker jokes? Maybe bankers are too dull.
I think its more “too powerful” instead of too dull.
“This article shows one thing for sure: bankers and lawyers always win. ”
When is always, and how is always defined?
So what’s the story — anyone have informed comments on this? (Keeping in mind this is about Russian, not Ukrainian oligarchs — and is there a difference?)
I read http://russia-insider.com/en/2015/03/23/4797
saw:
”
The West assumes this revolt will be led by Russia’s business leaders, who in the West are always called “oligarchs” (though there is no evidence any of them actually possess political power and are in any true sense “oligarchs”) and who the West always assumes are selfish and corrupt.
These business leaders or “oligarchs” are supposed to carry out their coup in alliance with pro-Western liberal politicians within the government and with certain pro-Western political activists outside the government who previously headed the Moscow protests of 2011 and 2012. The latter are in reality marginal figures but mainstream Western opinion has never accepted this and continues to believe them to be far more important and influential than they really are.
We know that this is what the West intended because a stream of articles in the Western media has told us so. We also know it because no less a person than Angela Merkel has said as much.
We know that right at the start of the Ukrainian conflict Merkel was advised by the German intelligence agency the BND that Putin risked being overthrown by an oligarch-led coup if Western sanctions were imposed on Russia – which is why of course she imposed them. Merkel continues to say publicly that the sanctions will force a change in Russia, though she is now more circumspect than before and tends to speak of that change as something that will happen in the distant future.
In the event, what has actually happened in Russia since the sanctions were imposed is the exact opposite of what the West expected.
“
You will find a comment in the Solzhenitsyn and Sakarov blog posted by anonymous at 11-07UTC on March 23rd.
OK, but the question I had in mind is how much political power is gained from having money? Money does give one power and that’s plainly seen in the US. But how much power depends on other factors, in other countries, and may not me that strongly linked since money is only one form of power. Strong political or military power may determine how much money one can have rather than the reverse. Putin has taken a few rich ‘oligarchs’ down, showing there is more than money involved. It does not seem Russia is for sale the with the US is.
On the other Kolomoisky and US blog you will find a comment roughly saying.
Mr. Kolomoisky is trying to solve the conundrum of bennies and blat, previously conflating blat with bennies and bennies with blat, whilst not realising the hazards of his illusions.
(Many others are similarly engaged – some even extrapolating that they are the deciders)
Perhaps Aeschylus could make a contribution.
(Evaluation is a function of purpose and hence confirmation bias and ideological intergation arenot necessarily problems but also afford myriad opportunities. Notions that the ends justify the means rather than the means condition the ends are useful accelerators.)
So let me suggest that you are seeking to ask not the most valid question as a function of factors outlined in the previous paragraph delineated by brackets.
Perhaps testing hypotheses in conjunction with others may illuninate, since although philosophers have sought to describe the world, the purpose is to change it..
On the ideological immersion, why restrict the hypothese to test to the US having a fiat currency, but extend it to having a fiat economy and a fiat “politics”, all interacting laterally if some fuller understanding is the purpose.
A testing of matters fiat.

“is there a difference?”
Unfortunately I can’t imagine that there is.
If the 2 charts of US / Russian wealth share in this link http://www.businessinsider.com/putting-russias-unparalleled-wealth-disparity-in-perspective-2013-10?IR=T are realistic then Russia is even more demonic than “the West”.
The Russian rich do not seem to be suffering e.g: http://www.newsweek.com/russias-rich-gets-richer-dollars-ruble-plunges-293910 but qualified by this:
“While Vedomosti quoted one unnamed attendee as saying some oligarchs were in a state of “confusion” and “tension” over the ruble crisis, Putin made things clear, Vedomosti said, telling them that the Kremlin and business had and would continue to have “close relations,” and that oligarchs should demonstrate “civic responsibility.” The means, Vedomosti quoted an unnamed senior banker as saying: by voluntarily converting at least 50 percent of their export dollars into rubles. “The government will help business, but let business help the government,” Putin was quoted as saying. In other words, the oligarchs will bail Russia out, and if they don’t, they’ll be tossed from their lucrative perches.”
However:
“Russia’s oligarchs have faced trying financial times before: in 2008, amid the global credit crisis prompted by the American mortgage meltdown, an event that prompted Putin to push aside some oligarchs; and in 1998, when the ruble collapsed, Russia defaulted on its debt, the International Monetary Fund stepped in and the then-nascent group was struggling to turn newly privatized industries they had been awarded into actual companies.
This time, things are very different, and Russia’s new class of oligarchs are far more sophisticated. Whereas their predecessors focused more on wealth extraction than wealth generation, the new breed has built conglomerates and tapped Western financial markets and are more enmeshed in the global economy. “
Ultimately, i’m afraid it matters not too much who is victorious in the global struggle – the demons are winning.
Anonymous, I think it DOES matter who wins the global struggle. US oligarchs want a unipolar world; they want to eradicate the nation-states in favor of a global corporatocracy; and the most important oligarchs have stated their intention to reduce global population– drastically.
“the demons are winning.”
Is it a case of apres nous le deluge?
Blue, oligarchs in the West are of course “the elite”. Y’all could strike a minor blow by ALWAYS referring to them as “US oligarchs” or “Western oligarchs”.
I think many Russian “business leaders” didn’t build up their businesses from scratch, but seized them when USSR collapsed, so truly are oligarchs, too.
Billions here, billions there…
All those billions won’t help him dodge a bullet when the push comes to shove. He is mortal just like anyone else.

Ukraine: fake jews enter FULL self-detonation mode
Kolomoisky detonates according to the script revealed in advance only by Last Prophet.
Illuminati web of disinfo posts:
“What are the odds that the third richest and most powerful person in the Ukraine is a Jewish Oligarch?”
Reminder of Last Prophet’s words:
Ukraine: Illuminati jokes: Igor vs Igor, where the better pig lookalike is casted on the bad side
Igor Plotnitsky on the Novorussia side and Igor Kolomoisky in the Ukraine side, both “evil jews” belong to the same type of illuminati actors: nazi agents playing fake jews.
As all fake jews of illuminati scripts they play the role of suicide bombers, to be later arrested, and used as scapegoats, mostly for missing billions.
In the process also to have human cattle support the “patriots (Ukraine: read Poroshenko) finally puting an end to jewish control”.

Oligarch Kolomoiskyi Dismissed as Dnipropetrovsk Governor – Poroshenko
According to Ukraine’s president official website, Poroshenko dismissed Ihor Kolomoiskyi from the post of Dnipropetrovsk Regional Governor.
KIEV (Sputnik) – Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has signed a decree on the dismissal of Ihor Kolomoiskyi from the post of Dnipropetrovsk Regional Governor during a meeting with the Ukrainian oligarch, a statement released on the president’s official website on Wednesday says.
“We have to ensure peace, stability and tranquility. The Dnipropetrovsk Region must remain a bastion of Ukraine in the east [and] defend the citizens’ peace and quiet,” Poroshenko said as quoted in the statement.
According to Ukraine’s president, Zaporizhia Regional State Administration head Valentin Reznichenko will now be appointed acting Dnipropetrovsk Regional Governor.
Ew, very important, Bot. Now all Porky needs to do is nationalize Privat Bank– or at least w/d state funds.
Kolomoisky seems to be very “with it” in appealing to the citizenry:

I’ve seen that reported in Russian language media, but I wasn’t sure from the translation whether it had been done, or just proposed.
I made one comment and something came up that said I had made too many comments and I don’t see it posted here.
I had that-i think is just wordpress saying you are posting too quickly
“cunning and ruthless” were also the words FBI (iirc) used to describe Mossad a few days before 9-11 happened. What a coincidence.
“The Ukrainian Security Service dealt its own blow on Kolomoisky. As its chief Valentin Nalivaichenko said at a special news briefing, the security service was probing into the rumoured involvement of senior officials of the Dnipropetrovsk Region’s administration in financing a crime ring responsible for smuggling goods across the line of disengagement with the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Luhansk republics and for kidnappings,” Tamara Zamyatina wrote.

Had it been To Kolomoisky (a Cypriot citizen), there is absolutely zero chance you would not have played the “accuse of bigotry” card and singled out the phrase for censorship. Dishonestly insinuating every connection made to Israel with antisemitism is a well known hasbara technique.
