At least 104 people have been killed in Libya since anti-government protests erupted on Wednesday, the campaign group Human Rights Watch says. It said the figure included at least 20 people who died when troops reportedly used heavy weapons in the second city, Benghazi, on Saturday. The group said its estimates were conservative.
Good thing crazy old Gaddafi abandoned the camp of ‘terrorism’ and is now acting like a distinguished member of the Axis of Kindness.
Andy Worthington in the antiwar.com interview made reference to the fact what sounded like al-Liby was renditioned to Libya were apparently “committed suicide”.
I posted this comment about al-Liby’s background.
”Did Andy Worthington say that Anas al-Liby renditioned to Libya were he “committed suicide”?
If he did that is very, very interesting for a number of reasons.
a) Egyptian intelligence linked him to the failed assassination attempted against Mubarak in Ethiopia in 95 when he was given political asylum in Britain.

b) British intelligence recruited him for a failed 96 motorcade assassination attempt on Libyan leader Colonel Mu’ammar al-Qadhafi.

c) British intelligence shielded him from US authorities (and not the only terrorist) from the FBI in connection for his role in the 98 African Embassy bombings. In fact he is listed on the FBI Most Wanted terrorist website.

So why was he moved to Libya instead of being extradited to the US?
It would be good if Worthington would follow up on this al-Liby case.”
I tried e-mailing him to confirm that he did say Al-Liby and if it was Anas al-Liby he referenced but I haven’t gotten a response.
