Let’s begin with a few headlines:
- Pentagon says world will have three ‘great powers’ – and US will be ‘challenged’
- Biden ready to change US nuclear weapons policy – reports
- The US imposes sanctions on Nicaragua
- IRGC releases footage of blocking US oil seizure
The first two seem to point to a US realization that war against China and Russia is unwinnable and that the USA simply does not have the means to impose a global world order run by one hegemon. Some will say “well, good morning USA!” but the importance of these two events is that it appears that the USA has officially come to the realization that the international world order they attempted to impose on the planet is unachievable. The fact that top US officials admit that is a very positive development and it pushes back the risks of a major, possibly nuclear, war.
The next two are probably a side-effect of the former, that is to say that since the USA cannot simply bully Russia and/or China, they now feel the need to bully Nicaragua and treat it like Cuba and Venezuela. That is a very bad sign, as it shows that while Uncle Shmuel did have to give up his planetary ambitions, the nutcases in Congress are still bad old imperialists in the worst sense of the word, and they still think that they can, and should, bully smaller nations into submission.
Finally, there is this really weird story in the Gulf of Oman.
What actually took place here is hard for me to tell. So first, let’s watch the video as filmed by the Iranians:
First, we see what appears to be an unopposed landing of IRGC soliders on an oil tanker. Next, a number of fast attack craft led by what looks to me as a Shahid Nazeri high speed catamaran appear on the scene. Then we are shown footage of a USN Arleigh Burke-class destroyer apparently heading in the direction of the IRGC catamaran. Next, we see the oil tanker surrounded by Iranian fast attack craft which are shown delivering more personnel on the oil tanker. A quick shot appears to show the Iranian fast attack craft ahead of the USN destroyer. Then we hear what appears to be an IRGC radio message to the USN destroyer to leave the area and the USN reply that the destroyer is on “routine operations in international waters”. Next we see close footage of the destroyer which suggests that the IRGC fast craft came very close to it, possibly surrounding it on all sides. The destroyer’s hull has the number 68 which appears to belong to the USS The Sullivans. We are also shown another number, 112, which appears to show that the USS Michael Murphy was also involved in the incident.
Next, we see that one of the two USN destroyers appears to be overtaking the tanker, possibly “pushed” away from it by Iranian fast attack craft. They are then joined by the Iranian catamaran. The Iranian then get very close to the USS The Sullivans and point their heavy machine guns at it. Then we see this image:
Unless this picture was doctored we see three undeniable things:
- The USN destroyed has fully stopped (no wake)
- The Iranian catamaran is directly in front of the USN destroyer, facing it
- Several fast attack craft are also in the immediate proximity
- The USN destroyer is very close to the oil tanker, which begs the question why this destroyer ever got so near the oil tanker if it was “only” conducting “routine operations”?
In this very short shot it appears (at least to my non-trained in naval recognition eyes) that the 2nd USN destroyer is following the USS The Sullivans:
Next we see the tanker leaving the area while the USN destroyed is stopped, surrounded by Iranian vessels. The Iranian then appear to also leave while escorting the tanker. Then the various ships appear to be leaving.
The Iranians claim that the USN was trying to seize the tanker in a act of “piracy”. The US only admits that an “incident” took place, but does not explain why/how its destroyers got so close to the tanker. I see no evidence at all that any US personnel was on the tanker, yet the Iranians claim that its oil was transferred to another ship. That makes no sense to me.
But what is undeniable is this: two USN destroyers were extremely close to that tanker and that IRGC forces forced both of these destroyers to first stop and then change course and leave. That, by itself, is yet another huge slap in the face of what still remains the most powerful navy on the planet.
I would also note that the surface ships from the IRGC we see on the footage is only part of what the forces the Iranians must have had ready should a shooting incident begin: they could have had one, or several submarines nearby, and they certainly had their coastal defense missiles targeted at the USN destroyers.
The key factor here, as always, is that the Iranians were clearly willing to fight and, if needed, die for their country. The USN personnel not so much :-) It is one thing to fire cruise missiles while being comfortably out of range and quite another to, literally, see IRGC soldiers face to face.
So I will let Roger Waters sing the conclusion to this incident:
Hugs and cheers,
Andrei
UPDATE: better video here: https://preview.presstv.ir/ptv///iran/20211104/irgc_final.mp4 (thanks !!!)
So why were the armed Iranians initially dropped on the tanker acting (tactically) like they could be encountering US forces??
Was this for show or just standard “safe practice”??
And what was the US Navy thinking? Seize the tanker to enforce some US sanction provision? If so, what were they thinking….
Well, it is evident to me that the Iranian video is a propaganda video. But what it shows nonetheless appear undeniably true to me, even if we set aside the “piracy” accusation.
Maybe the Iranian got to the tanker first, before the USN destroyers caught up with it and, thereby, prevented it from being seized?
Yah – an interesting stand-off. The Americans could easily destroy the tanker, but probably couldn’t transfer Marines to capture it. Escalation could happen with blinding speed.
Tom, it’s not a question of capturing the tanker (whose parentage seems to be open to question) the problem for SehSha would be holding said tanker when surrounded by a herd of irritated Iranians. While most of the Iranian fast boats have but a single roughly 50 cal. on them, that 50 can deliver a world of hurt at the close ranges these two fleets were maneuvering in, plus they don’t have the problems the SehSha ships would have in that while the Iranians had to basically aim up a little to hit their targets, most of the weapons on Uncle Sugar’s finest can not depress enough to engage such close and nimble targets. Advantage Iran pure and simple.
Auslander
Auslander, you raise some good points. Those USN destroyers are optimized for long-range combat. They were foolish to get into a close-range situation…
Ironically, the previous “USS The Sullivans” (DD-537) was better suited for this type of mission than the current “USS The Sullivans” (DDG-68). The new destroyer has only one 5″ gun and two 25 mm chain guns (autocannons). Lots of missile tubes, but those are irrelevant in this type of situation. The older Fletcher-class destroyer (as built) had five 5″ guns in individual turrets, ten 40 mm (1.6″) Bofors AA guns (5 × 2), and seven 20 mm (0.79″) Oerlikon AA cannons (7 × 1). It could have shot its way out of this situation, if necessary.
I wonder if USN will learn from this incident. Maybe, we will see some modern version of a Fletcher-class destroyer being designed…
Staging something like that, then blowing the ship up when boarded by the SEALs is a possibility. Depending on what the ship was carrying they may have taken out the two destroyers too. The most interesting thing to me is the observation that the sailors were not in battle dress on the bridge. Especially if they were in the sights of that dude with the .50.
I find the attitude of the US personnel a bit cavalier. Any CPO or junior officer worth his salt would have hit GQ instantly, yet here we have the entire CiC cadre of two US DD’s and a converted yacht masquerading as a Coast Guard Frigate of all things lounging around as if it’s cocktail hour at Base in Jax. My top rank way back when was the equivalent of E9+ and I would take on anything up to O6 where my men were concerned, and I can guaranty you someone’s ass would have been chewed mightily over the bridge crew and three ships in general with possible hostiles within spitting distance of said bridge and ships. It’s stupidity such as this that gets people real dead and wars started.
Auslander
Thanks for the clarity. I found the idea of such laxity by USN almost unbelievable. But then I remembered a few years back when the USN had to cease all worldwide operations because they couldnt keep from running into each other. I read the report and it is a classical case of incompetance caused by hubris.
The Americans could easily destroy the tanker yes and the Iranians could easily destroy the American Zio slaves.
I guess the Americans slaves did not want to die for their slave masters.
Some additional coverage of the Iran v US oil tanker incident.
Article here: https://thecradle.co/Article/News/3145
with this comment from Milley:
Iran seized a Vietnamese-flagged oil tanker in the Gulf of Oman last month and still holds the vessel off Bandar Abbas.
https://www.seattletimes.com/nation-world/world/officials-tell-ap-that-iran-seized-vietnamese-oil-tanker/
Nov 3
“Milley did not elaborate on how these US activities are not in themselves “malign operations.”
Uncle Sam must be under the misimpression that he has a license to steal (and kill), good in any jurisdiction.
Travesties like this is where we earn our global reputation as ugly Americans. In most of folklore the bully gets his come-uppance in the end. I think on the next 9-11 level incident targeting America the whole world will rejoice even if sub rosa. This thuggery, and its attendant lying, must be brought to an end.
Mr Marandi usually well introduced in Iranian upper echelon explained thé following.
https://mobile.twitter.com/s_m_marandi
“My information:
The US stole a tanker on its way to Venezuela with Iranian fuel. The captain/crew betrayed Iran & aided the US. The regime stole & sold the Iranian fuel.
Now the tanker with the same captain & crew & under US military protection has been seized by the IRGC Navy”
Therefore the seizure of the tanker by IRGC is a tit for tat following last year US act of Piracy in the Caribbean.
With this bit of news, IRGC explanation about countering the US act of piracy is made crystal clear.
As the old Spanish saying goes,
“Quién roba a un ladrón, cien años de perdón”…
This goes the same for bankers and so on…hence Lucio…
How should they be placed on the ship?
The seized tanker contained the transferred pirated oil from an Iranian tanker.
It was boarded by IRGC forces and sailed to Bandar Abbas where the pirated oil was discharged and the empty tanker released.
I have no information on the Iranian tanker as yet…
The United States transferred the defeat in the Bilis East to Sudan and Ethiopia in South Africa, and the defeat against Venezuela to Nicaragua. Iran has repeatedly humiliated America, most recently humiliated the U.S. Navy, in refusing to seize its oil tanker. But the world of EU and US imperialism is in an unstoppable decline, and it is evident that the world of the East is taking the path of humanity in a more ethical and moral life and the prosperity of the economy. Russia and China are the essence of the collapse of imperial terror against humanity. The United States reckons that the current three powers, Russia, China and the United States, have already counted themselves, but the big question is whether the United States can be a country of ethics and morals and respect for international law, I don’t think it can, that is my opinion. I believe more in the Taliban than in the US, I will try to explain why. Iran is the essence and Essence of the Prophet’s Ummah – the supranational unity of the pnateran unity of the Muslims, which was destroyed by the Sunni monarchies, with the EU and the USA. Iran has been an essence since the death of the Prophet, committed to the preservation of the Ummah, and it achieves this primarily through its existence and freedom. First of all, Iran sublimely offers all Muslim countries the essence of the Ummah, a community of prosperity that has been shattered thanks to the Muslims themselves. and now I needed this as a small introduction, to understand what I mean: Iran first and foremost offered the Taliban the essence of the Ummah that they should establish after the victory in freedom, that would mean a complete coding of DAESH and terrorism that destroys the Ummah . This was offered politically by Russia and China. And now, it is not hard to imagine, the realization of Umeet would lead the Muslims to the third force that America is thinking about. And Russia and China understood that and opened the door to Iran for that very purpose. So the Taliban can really start what they are constantly saying sublimely about the magnitude of the action on the lips with the name of Allah in the true essence with the Ummah of the Prophet.
The RT reports that the US has transferred the oil from the Iranian tanker to another tanker who’s whereabouts were unknown. One can see how high above the water the tanker is, suggesting it is empty. Any idea what might all be?
The tanker is high above water, good point, thank you!
I think it is faily well laden….as the bulb at the bow is still below the sea surface. When these ships are emptied this bulb really has most of it above the surface. Also bottom of transom is at sea level and cannot see rudder mechanisms.
Some media suggests eg reuters
” A Vietnamese-flagged oil tanker, Sothys, has been spotted on Thursday transferring 700,000 barrels of Iranian crude oil to an Iran-flagged tanker, Tankertrackers.com said on Twitter.”…?????
Refs to the second tanker here

Tankers don’t sail empty. Due to the stability, they must accept ballast water, which is drained only before the loading terminal. Maybe this is the answer?

Interesting the head of the CIA, Burns – former US ambassador to Russia showed uppitiest in Moscow 2 days ago for a meeting with high level Russian intel VIP’s, for a meeting that was only announced after they were finished. Wonder what they talked about? Sure is interesting the timing 2 days before the Union State meeting…
If anyone else, staff included, see any news related to developments of the Union State process, please comment on this comment so I can easily find them, if you don’t mind. I am trying to watch this US process happen as closely as I can with the limited time and analytical knowhow I have, and I can only speak English.. Any help is much appreciated.
Saker, if you wrote an article that gave a general overview the Union State as a geopolitical topic, and maybe a bit on how it relates to the situations in Ukraine, Syria, BRI and the prospects of Eurasian integration, etc., I would eagerly read it :-)
“Biden ready to change US nuclear weapons policy – reports”
Would that be more worthy than the Nazi word given upon the Molotov-Ribbentrop pact in August 1939??
Are the US not “non-agreement-capable” anymore?
An Arleigh Burke can do a lot, but one thing it can’t do is to stop a tanker that’s under way. Momentum, and lots of it.
I was interested in the chopper. Obvious Russian make, so Iranian.
And the machine gunner wearing a surgical-looking mask! Possibly a case of improper risk assessment. If it had been an anti-flash hood, that might make some sense.
The choppers are US made, some are Hueys (The Bell UH-1 Iroquois) the other one looks (to my non trained eye) as a Sikorsky SH-60 Seahawk. Probably US deliveries to Iran before 1979.
They are for sure NOT Russian (those I know).
Cheers
It could be Bell 214 SAR or Augusta-Bell 212 – both are derivatives of UH-1, both look similar to UH-1 (at least externally), both are in use by iranians.
Agreed. No expert myself neither, but the shape of the seahawk (very similar to the iconic blackhawk if not identical for the layman) is easily recognizable, so definitely not Russian…
the helo the iranians are using is an iranian copy of the Bell Huey.
70\s tech, they retro engineered it long ago, like the F5 airplane
Seyed Mohammad Marandi on Pepe Escobar’s twitter-
“My information:

Now the tanker with the same captain & crew & under US military protection has been seized by the IRGC Navy”
Link-https://twitter.com/RealPepeEscobar
I wonder if this is in reference to the tanker hijacked earlier this year actually handed over to the US after the captain was bribed if so it was unloaded months ago and was sailing to where under protection of those two destroyers. Maybe this was some kind of test or just the Az empires way of showing appreciation to the tanker captain for treason? Either way looks like this particular tanker captain may be looking at a short rope and a long drop.
I would not take what this general said about the tri-polar world too seriously because this very same general said that the US has the means to defend Taiwan contradicting everything he said about avoiding war between great powers.
This is the reaction from the Chinese:
The Chinese foreign ministry has hit back at the US, demanding Washington refrain from interfering in Taiwan, after American General Mark Milley said his forces were capable of defending the island nation against Beijing. No one can underestimate China’s firm determination and will to defend national sovereignty and territorial integrity. We will never allow anyone or any force to split Taiwan from the embrace of the motherland in any way,”
As we speak the US sent 3 warships in the black sea including a destroyer uss porter and the command and flag ship of the 6th fleet the uss Mount Whitney. Plus the US keeps supplying weapons to ukraine including javelin ATGMs. When the ukraine started its military build up back in April the US deployed warships in the black sea to show support to ukraine. The US is doing the same thing again while ukraine is again escalating in the donbass.
Nothing changed. Tensions are very high and the US keeps its “maximum pressure” strategy escalating all the time with more provocations more FONOPs and so on.
US nuclear weapons policy? They misplayed the INF treaty, and now are desperate to “force” China into the strategic arms treaty.
China meanwhile has upped from 250 to 500 warheads, and I indicated earlier that they would double that non-stop. Reports lately are the US believes the Chinese will have 1000 warheads in the coming years.
The US nuclear policy is first strike. They war game first strike all the time. They talk, write papers and game “decapitation” tactical strikes. They are clearly not going to change policy or doctrines.
Anyone thinking the US “caught religion” and now will be agreeable to a new doctrine, a new policy, a new MAD that is warm and cuddly is nuts.
The US may be less powerful geopolitically, but more dangerous as the US is far less stable domestically, economically, politically and militarily in relation to its perceived threats, Russia and China.
And coming up fast on the outside are Iran, India and Turkey all of whom are wanting a new status in geopolitical power structures, plus the revitalized imperialist dreamers of Japan who are close to having nuclear weapons.
Toss in the agitators of Tel Aviv, always prodding for an apocalypse over Teheran, and the US “changing its nuclear weapons policy” is hallucinatory.
Agree absolutely – and a great job you have done of listing the factors that make it unlikely that the US will become more peaceful. A leopard may change its spots but the US cannot change its compulsive war making.
My friend and very close comrade Larchmonter:
I have no doubts whatsoever that Nippon does, indeed, posses viable nuclear weapons. I do not know the delivery system at this time, jungle telegraph is quiet on that aspect, but again Nippon does posses nuclear weapons and to be honest I have no doubts they can deliver at least one of those weapons as needs be. One is all that’s needed.

just seen that Danchenko the Steele Dossier info feed guy has been arrested by DoJ USA …interestingly enough CIA has been prior criticised for continuing to go with it. Head of CIA Burns is visiting Moscow(after Ukraine ) at the moment for a couple of days so that surely must embarrass the heck out of him and be asource of sardonic humour for the Russians…and the www is hoping Durham is going to town on all involved.

“Pentagon says world will have three ‘great powers’ – and US will be ‘challenged’”. What type of Stratagem is this? The Financial Empire captures a nation using bullying, bribes &/or bombs. How many times has it fooled Russia in the last century? How about China? How did it fool Japan with the Plaza Accord? Is the EU not a great power? How about the global Britain?
The bullying through sanctions isn’t working as China and Russia have been able to withstand and manage them. The Empire now seems to be pursuing a path of bribes? List companies from these nations on Wall Street and control them? How many companies from these nations plan to be listed in London and Wall Street? Why do these nations list companies in adversaries financial markets?
Citibank is closing retail banking operations in many Asian nations. However, “It plans to raise $150bn of new assets from its wealth clients and hire 2,300 wealth managers in Asia by 2025, many of them in China. Wall Street banks have stepped up plans to capture China’s estimated $46 Trillion of household savings in the past two years as Beijing has gradually increased access to its capital account. Citi was the first US bank to win a fund custody license in China last year.” So the Empire plans to capture rich elites in these nations using the wealth management business and corrupt them, like it did in the Europe?
If the Empire has really changed its posture then it need to close its military bases and work constructively in resolving global conflicts. It needs to withdraw its forces from Syria, join JCPOA, …. There is a big gap between rhetoric and reality. Please focus on the deeds and details.

We are currently in a two-to-one tripolar world. I see the following alternative for humanity.
– The rising duo Russia-China holds on and the West collapses definitively. We are entering a truly multipolar world where the two big ones (Russia and China) bring the stability they need to develop in the long term while respecting other nations. We are entering a new era based on a true meritocracy.
- The West is not collapsing and in case of overwhelming predominance of one of the powers over the other two we are witnessing a change of alliance. This is the world described by Orwell in 1984.
I hope with all my heart that Orwell’s dystopia will remain a literary nightmare.
A minor point… UK forces defeated USA troops in a military exercise… maybe could add persuasion for the latter to get out of al Tanf?

Collisions and fires on ships are spectacular and particularly frightening. Deck surfaces can be up to 1200 degrees Celcius in a floating inferno. Add a bit of wind for a bit more excitement and adreniline.
To transfer oil from one ship to another, some lucky sailor will have to attach a copper cable between the tankers to balance the static electricity between the two vessels.
I doubt there are any possible firefighting equipment to save a vessel in the Sea of Oman that could have reached them in time. How many professional firefighters will want to go to save a burning destroyer with live ammunition on board?
Oil floats on water and can burn on the surface for a long time. You never want to be close to a tanker under almost all circumstances unless absolutely necessary.
The destroyer’s crew will soon be having their life insurance cancelled or premiums explode.
To get an idea of a tanker ship fire watch the following,
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tm9ucBc8G7g
(Fire Oiltanker NASSIA, March 1994 after collision with a bulk carrier “Sea Broker” )
I imagine the US Navy will have a few early retirements and recruiting difficulties in the future.
As for the Iranians, these are very brave men indeed.
Amazing video, thank you for your comment and link!!
Anybody think this was merely a training exercise by Iranian military? They appeared to board the tanker unopposed. That doesn’t look like a very large tanker (would need to investigate further). Someone in the comments mentioned it does not appear heavily loaded. Photos of the US destroyer bridge crew did not suggest to me the ship was at GQ (no helmets, e.g.). It might be they were simply curious to observe the Iranian exercise. It is at least a possibility to consider.
IMHO not a chance. It is obvious that both destroyers were surrounded and forced to stop.
For the “invincible” USN such a treatment at the hand of “sand niggers” is a HUGE humiliation.
And not the first one (remember when the Iranians took USN sailors prisoner?).
No, it is more likely that the the commanders of these ship to the WISE decision to look as meek and non-aggressive as possible. Also humiliating, of course, but wise nonetheless.
Fuel tanks which are partially empty are the most dangerous. The air above the fuel will feed a fire or explosion. You are just missing a source of ignition. Stay the hell away from a tanker that is not fully loaded. Go look at a tanker fire or two, such as in my previous comment.
If it was a training exercise, the tanker would be fully loaded.
Your local crematorium has a specially designed chamber. The chamber allows for an extremely high internal temperature of 870–980° Celsius (1,598–1,796° Fahrenheit) to be reached and maintained. Compare this with the 1200 degrees Celsius on a tanker ship deck that is on fire.
In my opinion the probability this was a training exercise is zero.
Ship to ship transfers usually have a joint action plan with a number of checklists. For details see https://safety4sea.com/cm-procedures-step-by-step-stages-of-a-proper-sts-transfer/?__cf_chl_jschl_tk__=UtuQcUYdMsJTdDWjcr4EwniaDyg_VKn3ujSulwIIebw-1636054949-0-gaNycGzNBpE
It will be interesting to recover them to see the transfer plans and the risk assessments these people made.
So what is your hypothesis of what happened based on these videos?
Most (if not all, but there’s always an exception to the rule) tankers run an inert gas system wherein the exhaust from the engines is used to keep a blanket of inert CO2/COon top of the crude being transported. This is normally kept in a slight positive pressure using mm of water head pressure as the pressure control to prevent sucking in air from outside.
Still, they are a floating potential fireball. obviously.
A mixture of inert gas and petroleum gas, when vented and mixed with air, can become flammable. The oxygen levels must be maintained below eleven percent either through dilution or displacement. A collision is likely to damage the inert gas system, releasing volatile organic compounds (VOC). The VOC management plan, as best practice will define target operating pressure for the cargo tanks. This pressure should be as high as safely possible and the ship should aim to maintain tanks at this level during the loading and carriage of relevant cargo.
What happens when you shake an unopened soft drink bottle? Scale that up to a tanker in collision with a destroyer. The temperature of the vapour increases during the daytime, raising the pressure. This all happened in broad daylight. Ideally the Iranians should have launched their operation at dawn.
The helicopters and speed boats have a limited range. I believe the Iranians had only a limited amount of time to organize the recapture of their stolen cargo. They had to choose a moment where there would be a minimum of interference from additional US reinforcements. Many of these ships have one or more Rotweilers that do not take kindly to strangers (dissuades some pirates) hence the weapons at the ready despite no persons seen on the deck.
Too early to say much else.
Oxygen level at 8 the whole operation trips. At 5% there is general alarm and cargo officer is to manually stop and operation and restore the balance. At 11% it is like one is sitting on a grenade with pin removed.
Then it is time to say a prayer and leave post-haste to get some distance for as many persons as possible. At nightfall the temperature usually will start dropping and the VOC level will drop and may allow trying to restore the balance again. It is work for heroes.
What we know:
According to the video, (0:06) the Tanker is north bound. See the N arrow in top left corner.
According to both the Iranian and US sources, the incident happened in the Gulf of Oman.
According to the video, the Tanker do not seem to be fully loaded with oil.
According to the video the Tanker did not try to stop during the whole incident.
According to the video the 2 US destroyers are following the tanker into the Gulf of Oman.
According to the Video the Iranian destroyer is south bound, to meet the Tanker.
According to the Video, the Iranians are boarding the Vietnamese Tanker via helicopter.
Boarding a vessel from a foreign Nation is regarded by international law as an act of piracy, and the Captain of the Tanker could have opened fire against the Iranian soldiers invading the tanker. Gunfire is absolutely dangerous onboard an Oil Tanker. Thus the Iranian Commandos had to be careful during the operation.
The preliminary logical conclusion:
The Captain of the Tanker knew that 2 US destroyers were following him into the Gulf of Oman.
The Captain of the Tanker knew that the Iranians want him or the Tanker arrested, but Keeps sailing.
After the Iranians boarded the Tanker, The 2 US destroyers aborted their course.
It seems like the Iranians have just arrested a Vietnamese oil Tanker implicated in theft of oil. And the US marine witnessed the arrest and let it happen without intervening.
However, there is still no confirmed information as to who the oil was stolen from, and who stole the oil.
The Captain of the Tanker knew that 2 US destroyers were following him into the Gulf of Oman.
The Captain of the Tanker knew that the Iranians want him or the Tanker arrested, but Keeps sailing.
After the Iranians boarded the Tanker, The 2 US destroyers aborted their course
In other words the USA was engaging in state-sanctioned piracy, theft, and terrorism. Typical of Anglo-Saxons the US navy used “plausible deniability,” a fancy term for “let a sucker do the dirty work, but let him suffer the consequences.” In other words, the “finest fighting force in history” lacked the honour to defend their “friends.”
It is amazing to me how the Taiwan separatists still believe the USA will defend them in the event of war…..
info re the ship here…
SOTHYS (IMO: 9253064) is a Crude Oil Tanker that was built in 2003 (18 years ago) and is sailing under the flag of Vietnam.
It’s carrying capacity is 107123 t DWT and her current draught is reported to be 14.3 meters. Her length overall (LOA) is 246.8 meters and her width is 42 meters.
mid size carrier not a VLCC ship which would be twice that tonnage. But still near enough to be the max size of ship planned for new Turkish canal….but Bosphorous and Suez can take much bigger.

Something the west and especially the EU technocrats won’t like:
The Russian and Belarusian presidents have signed a revised Union State military doctrine, as well as a package of other integration documents, paving the way for bringing the two nations closer together.
The landmark documents were signed by Vladimir Putin and Aleksandr Lukashenko on Wednesday during a meeting of the Supreme State Council of the Union State of Russia and Belarus.
”Something the west and especially the EU technocrats won’t like”
Haha, that was the understatement of the year! Also, our prodigious philosopher BHL who was boosting the fortunes of Svetlana ’Tikazhopskaya’ should feel quite down and out, having to live in a decade of ever more resounding setbacks and defeats for Western imperialism. Really, this is becoming an enumeration of the alphabet:
A as in Afghanistsn
B as in Belarus
C as in China
to be continued
Congratulations to Putin, Lukashenko and to the peoples of Russia and Belarus! The importance of national leadership quality cannot be overstated. And that’s something which applies with equal strength at the opposite end of the spectrum as well: Modi, Bolsonaro, Biden, Zelenski, and the Euro-trash happily driving their countries right into the abyss.
If we consider that the statement about the tri-polar world is true (I am sure not everybody in the US establishment thinks in that way) then an interesting thing is that the EU is nowhere to be seen in US calculations. European countries simply became irrelevant at world stage and the EU has become a non entity. What the US did to the French with submarine deal with Australia is the demonstration of this reality. The most laughable thing about this is that European leaders keep talking about “more Europe integration” and how the EU is making Europe stronger.
Which brings us back to Victoria Nuland’s comments of 2014; “F**K the EU.” Typical American thought process.
Nearly every person I know in Europe thinks dismantling the EU is impossible, as in overcoming the speed of light… they are amazingly brainwashed to sign for more and more loss of sovereignty.
To have absolutely not a single politician capable to stand out for not being a clown or a dork further endorses the strangely dysfunctional myth of “but we are well governed from Brussels”.
And all of this show, for the whole world to see how low they are, caught in a piracy act.
All the king’s horses and all the king’s men Couldn’t put Humpty together again.
I think is a good time for Russia to offer some alternative views on 911 happening, just to put a cherry on top.
Pass the popcorn.
Other reports say the Iranians who seized the Vietnamese tanker and have put it in a port in Iran.
The Oil Tanker is loaded with oil. The red paint job can be misleading because the water lines are usually painted in red but her water line is black. If the tanker was empty the hull below the water line would be easily visible , also a third of the rudder would be out of the water. What appears as DDG-68 being motionless is actually DDG-68 going into reverse to avoid hit the Catamaran. Afterwards she changes course.
”It appears that the USA has officially come to the realization that the international world order they attempted to impose on the planet is unachievable.”
Absolutely nothing of the sort unless the word ”officially” in the above context is to be understood as meaning ”void of any real substance/conviction”. The US is s nation of militant parasites and warmongers just like Nazi Germany, which was mostly aping US practices at home and abroad. And similar to Nazi Germany, the US also will have to be resoundingly smashed and defeated from without — which it will.
This scene once again puts paid to the idea of a third world war in the offing, US troops running away from Russian troops in northern Syria that weren’t even chasing them, the US running away from Afghanistan, US special forces getting their asses handed to them in north Africa, etc. etc. etc. US army is not prepared to fight a war, a real war, that was sorely demonstrated by the third year of the Iraq occupation, in 2006 the Majlis Shura Council declared the Islamic State of Iraq (SIS), later to become ISIS (that some like to claim idiotically was created by the CIA), ISI already controlled large swathes of central Iraq, in al-Anbar, they had defeated the US. That was it, the end of the empire. Now, even those kind of battles, in Fallujah, in Ramadi, are unthinkable for US combat troops. So war with Russia, &/or China? not a chance.
I think we would all hope you are right. I think that it is in fact trending in that direction but when an empire is declining it is unstable and you should not assume sanity.
Let us just take Milley. Yes he carried on about defending Taiwan etc, but that is usual ra ra PR and not a serious strategic/diplomatic statement. Then he admits to agreeing to warn China if US about to attack it. Pretty bloody weird – not that he did it- if he really is a decent wise human then he might do this – but admitting it is odd. Perhaps he was simply trying to get better credentials with the Biden administration. Now he admits in a forum (a real strategic forum sort of place where PR is not such an issue) that it is now a three power world.
So here is my assessment. Milley represents the US military faction that are realists. He has assessed the US military and found it wanting. In other words he has recognised what we now all know ie the US military is weaker and not fit for purpose. He has looked closely at Chinese and Russian military capabilities and recognises that they are technologically advanced peer competitors or better. He did not want a nuke war with China, perhaps because he knows that US defences are not up to scratch and just one well placed Chinese or Russian nuke sent in retaliation would be devastating. He probably also is more aware than most, that the US military is not particularly cohesive nor strong on morale. racial, regional, class and religion tensions beset the USA and are no doubt reflected strongly in the military. He perhaps is the “peace faction” within the US military, not because of principle but simply recognising strategic reality.
However as in every single military in every country, there is a peace faction and a war faction. The war faction are aggro and believe their own rhetoric. They are the big tough guys – we are the greatest, we will win brigade. this group are willing to take big risks because like juvenile teenagers (mostly boys) they are insanely certain of their own strength. Like teenage kids hooning around on fast cars or bikes, they often succeed but sometimes they don’t and end up in the morgue. They also have the desire to actually USE their war toys. Throw in religion and a belief that God favours their cause or that they will be raptured to heaven should calamity happen, and you have a very dangerous mix.
In a stable and well run country, the rational ‘peace’ faction is in control. This group will wage war only if they are certain or with good odds that they will win. They will not pick fights with powerful enemies and will negotiate to save their own necks. However the real risk is when a nation is in decline with significant social issues and mistrust and disunity. In these circumstances the insane, juvenile war faction may seize control.
It is this that I fear in the USA and wich means the threat of WWIII cannot be dismissed.
Hi Watcher
§§§~Then he admits to agreeing to warn China if US about to attack it. Pretty bloody weird – not that he did it- if he really is a decent wise human then he might do this – but admitting it is odd
>Milley got overwhelmed with TDS. (Trump derangement syndrome).
The context was how dangerous and erratic the Bad Orange Man, so Milley had had to step up and Save America ™ by pacifying the Chinese….
Only when his “heroic” actions were viewed as traitorous, did he “doh”, realise his hubris was an own goal
So here is my assessment. Milley represents the US military faction that are realists.
I’ve watched Milley’s Aspen interview on YT — to get it from the horse’s mouth — and you’re correct, watcher.
Milley came across as a reasonable and thoughtful man, not at all gung-ho although he was sticking close to the party line. At any rate it was good to be able to get his thoughts direct — a rare event, at least for me — and to know that he advocates ‘mil-to-mil communications’ with his peers in RF and PRC general staffs in particular; we would expect any head of military to do no less in these troubled times. He’s definitely a realist although he fudged it a bit re Taiwan and Afghanistan.
Presently it’s the Hegemon vs the Resistance but a ‘tripolar world’ is definitely emerging whether the world likes it or not.
As an aside, it was good to get his thoughts direct instead of reading press reports about what he said. These dishonest MSM ‘reporters’ — Milley’s speaking to his PRC counterpart was branded as ‘treason’ by them at one time — are the scum of the earth.
Four nukes landing would permanently cripple the USA.
One on New York – financial system destroyed
One on Washington DC – political infrastructure and cultural monuments destroyed
One on Silicon Valley – electronic manufacturers destroyed (and food production)
One on Iowa – food system destruction (could also affect neighbouring states food production)
That’s not many nukes and US ABM technology is limited.
Wrong. Half a dozen conventional ‘accidental’ explosions taking out the sewer and water supply systems of oh, say NYC, Philly, Baston, Atlanta and Jax and it’s over, fighting in the streets in three days if not sooner over water and downhill from there. How many city folks know how to build a home privy? Correct. Zero.
Auslander
Auslander,
Although I agree with most of your post, that does not make my assessment wrong. I was merely pointing out that only 4 nukes out of all that could be launched need to land, and US missile defense is rudimentary.
I might add a darned good EM Pulse to fry the US Eastern Seaboard Electrical network would put the lights out clear into Northern Quebec and have the same result as your water/sewer system scenario.
I’ve made the long cold walk at midnight to the loo, everybody should experience that at least once in the middle of a very cold February. Never had running water growing up, but it would be painful to dig the ‘pit’ in a concrete jungle.
JackJC
My friend, I in no way intended to make your post ‘wrong’, I simply advocated using conventional explosives such as can be delivered by your friendly local UPS driver. Nukes ring too many warning bells, a small herd of ‘accidental’ explosions up and down the east coast would slip under the radar, at least at first, and the screams of ‘RUSSIA DID IT’ would not start until the fighting in the streets started and by then it would be too late.
Auslander
Should we believe you or General Suleimani?
I think it is faily well laden….as the bulb at the bow is still below the sea surface. When these ships are emptied this bulb really has most of it above the surface. Also bottom of transom is at sea level and cannot see rudder mechanisms.

” A Vietnamese-flagged oil tanker, Sothys, has been spotted on Thursday transferring 700,000 barrels of Iranian crude oil to an Iran-flagged tanker, Tankertrackers.com said on Twitter.”…?????

However, the Southys had been on the radar of United Against a Nuclear Iran, a New York-based advocacy group long suspicious of the Islamic Republic. In a letter dated Oct. 11 addressed to the Vietnam Maritime Administration, the group said its analysis of satellite photos showed the Southy received a ship-to-ship transfer of oil in June from an oil tanker called the Oman Pride.
“The U.S. Treasury identified the Oman Pride in August as being used to transport Iranian oil as part of a smuggling scheme to enrich the Guard’s expeditionary Quds Force. That Iranian oil ends up being sold into East Asia, the Treasury alleged, without identifying a specific country.””

§§§~That Iranian oil ends up being sold into East Asia, the Treasury alleged, without identifying a specific country.
That would be Best Korea.
Whatever is going on here its highly irresponsible for a warship to get that close to an oil tanker if this is just a routine patrol. Looks like a provocation perhaps to test how the Iranians react.
Regarding America’s attempts to regime change Nicaragua, US social media proxies like Facebook and Twitter are censoring Nicaraguans who support their government in the run-up to the Nicaraguan election.
And Facebook and Twitter ludicrously justify their censorship by claiming these people are actually “bots.”

Good evening, once again a superb comment from the Mr Raesky quill, and I would take note of 3 key factors as it concerns to us here in Rio de Janeiro, Brasil, now a full-mode US colony:
1st the empire will, and in fact already are, tighten the ropes around LA countries cause we are the Lebensrau, the manifest destiny theory so deep seated believes the Americas, fromTierra del Fuego up to Greenland, to be (US)american. “Danach” we have this sort of behavior concerning to our poor defende neighbours, with it’s very poor masses and wealthy “comprador” (apud Andrei) elites;
2nd If the US can’t even use it’s “maritime dominance” as they like to put it dealing with Iran, a very strong (much much stronger than my beloved but extremely weak Brasil) country but as much as my (low level) warfare knowledge, far weaker than any of the “big 3”, so it maybe a signal that the US is simply put playing games to keep the GCC (Israel knows better) “cool” but not interested in really get engaged or spend money and personnel on it’s “world police” policy there;
3. This may lead to an increasing pressure over LA strongest countries to join some sort of league just like they just did with Australia, meaning that some sort of cooperation may be created or some existent adapted to fit in this new cheaper mode, putting the costs over the LA shoulders – after all, their military will probably be in training and expertising avec la crème de la crème of the MIC.
And thus will our latin-americans countries get more and more entangled with this sorry débacle.
Cheers from Rio de Janeiro, muito obrigado mais uma vez
That’s odd. I didn’t know that the US coast extends all the way to the Gulf of Oman. Must be, otherwise why would a US coast guard vessel be part of this US operation in the Gulf?
Are US naval bases considered part of US soil like it’s embassies? If so, then it would make sense why a Coast Guard unit is there.
Like you I’m often amused that the US “Coast Guard” has ships operating in the South China Sea, off Venezuela, and in the Persian Gulf! Apparently we were under the mistaken belief that the “coast” referred to in its name was the US coastline, whereas in reality, it refers to any coast that Congress will approve funding for, from Antarctica to Greenland. Each and every branch of the US armed farces seeks to endlessly expand its mandate and hence prestige and funding.
No more South China Sea. In a gesture to Orwell, the US only refers to it as the Indo Pacific, even though India is not on the Pacific. However, they see nothing wrong with Tokyo’s Sea of Japan.
So it’s true then; the Iranians have an orchestral accompaniment on all their away missions. That explains the dramatic music we hear during the video playback.
Those Persians think of everything; tactical control of the situation while Sharia violins entertain us with suspenseful melodies.
On the other hand, the U.S. Navy cannot tack out of its own wake much less do it with any panache. Clearly their ships captains are as impotent as their missile batteries.
P.S. I propose Saker rule number 22: no drinking Siberian vodka while posting “scholarly” comments, dammit. There, I’m done for the evening :)
My take on the tanker episode is that the tanker was laden with oil and the USAmericans both threatened and bribed the tanker’s captain to hand it over. The tanker’s captain said “ok, where do you want me to take it?” The Iranians got wind of this and went to retake control of the tanker. The USAmericans, always over-confident and not expecting this, or maybe just not wanting to draw attention to what was going on, had their destroyers too far away to intervene in the retaking. Their job done, the Iranians then switched to defending the tanker once the USAmerican destroyers belatedly showed up. Which the Iranians did, quite easily. They are obviously well trained. End of story.
Sarcophilus
I agree with your take here.
I think the US had to sit back in “international waters”, and maintain the plausible deniable of why they were their “just in the neighbourhood, wink”
I agree they probably didn’t factor the Iranian response.
And then when they got more than anticipated, they remembered the humiliation of US sailors crying for mommy after being captured in Iranian waters.
Also. Hostages. Iran could keep you as a bargaining chip for a decade or so… especially with JPOC not progressing smoothly.
Better to sail away, whistle Yankee Doodle, and let Navy PR obfuscate the whole thing….
Hopefully so, the United States flees from everywhere, this reminds me of the case of the ant parasitized by a fungus: Ophiocordyceps unilateralis
Ophiocordyceps unilateralis is capable of modifying the behavior of the ants it infects, specifically of the Camponotini tribe, making them climb to the top of a plant where they anchor themselves to the vein of a leaf with their jaws before dying. The same would apply to the empire parasitized by the globalist Zionists. Because Iran is more of an issue of interest to Israel.
On the other hand, China is preparing for something:

Pentagon says world will have three ‘great powers’ – and US will be ‘challenged’
Biden ready to change US nuclear weapons policy – reports
———————————-
If any of these or both make it to the National Security Strategy, they might have a political and military impact in foreign affairs, a meaningful change in tank-thinkers. For now, the former is a Pentagon analysis offered by a heavy weight, Chairman of the JCS, and the latter is an intention. The way political winds are blowing in the US, Biden might not have time to do anything of substance, he is too busy fighting for utterly stupid causes, like making “admirals” of transgenders, hence their most recent defeats. Biden might be a short interregnum between the formation of a political front turned fascist (Trump’s first period), under the umbrella of the GOP, and the take over and implementation of a fascist society (Trump’s second period, or any other foaming at the mouth GOPer).
A new quasi-fascist administration could erase any inklings of moderation or objective analytics permeating US foreign policy thinking, developed during Biden. Back to “We Are The Champions Of The World” in one swat.
The US imposes sanctions on Nicaragua
———————————-
I don’t see this move as derivative from the two above. Just old Uncle Sam showing its teeth in what they consider their backyard. The leaders of the Nicaraguan revolution have grown corrupt and dictatorial, even imprisoning members of the historical leadership of the Sandinista Front who have denounced their corruption. Nicaragua is an easy target, they are having elections in a couple of days, and the US does not have much political clout inside Nicaragua to juggle with, most of its political operatives are in prison. That leaves sanctions as the only way to pretend to have an influence.
IRGC releases footage of blocking US oil seizure
———————————-
“Finally, there is this really weird story in the Gulf of Oman.
What actually took place here is hard for me to tell…”
Totally agree with the “weird” definition, and thank you for trying to decipher whatever happened there, and for sharing the videos sent your way. I will not try to venture an opinion because there are too many “unknown unknowns.”
1) What was the mission of the US ships in the region.
2) What really happened with the oil tanker.
3) What were the real intentions of the dancing ships, both US and Iranians.
It’s impossible to determine how close they were to a confrontation, ship dancing like this one happens every so often in the Persian Gulf. I agree with your observation “The key factor here, as always, is that the Iranians were clearly willing to fight and, if needed, die for their country.” They also showed their capacity for immediate reaction, their constant vigilance, and their reliance on technology. IRGC tends to exaggerate their actions and operations, and in their propaganda they defeat the US every other day. We will have to wait and see what really transpired there.
fantastic – how exhilarating it must have been for those Iranian naval personnel
Wish I was one of them
so now the Iranians have that pirate tanker too – hehehehehe
Thank you Saker. The second video with translation to English is much appreciated. If the Iranian fast boats with their machine guns were not enough of a deterrent for the US destroyers, then IMHO the risk of Iranian anti-ship missiles hitting their targets had to weigh considerably in the minds of the Commanding Officers on board the US warships.
Biden is changing policy, because their goal is not to conquer the world by military force but to rob it through their financial hitmen.
“Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen suggested that the world might need to devote $100-150 trillion to fight climate change. The number is more than the entire world’s annual GDP.”
This carbon neutral banking is just another bailout scam (since 2008) for the greatest transfer of wealth to the .001%.
“…goal is not to conquer the world by military force but to rob it through their financial hitmen.”
Those two can not exist one without another. Military is financed by overexploiting the world – hitmen couldn’t scrape a dime without military threat behind them.
Exactly.
There is a carrot and a stick.
In a more honest time it used to be called “gunboat diplomacy.”
Here is how hagiographer of Empire, Thomas Friedman of the NYT, put it:
“𝑇ℎ𝑒 ℎ𝑖𝑑𝑑𝑒𝑛 ℎ𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑜𝑓 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑚𝑎𝑟𝑘𝑒𝑡 𝑤𝑖𝑙𝑙 𝑛𝑒𝑣𝑒𝑟 𝑤𝑜𝑟𝑘 𝑤𝑖𝑡ℎ𝑜𝑢𝑡 𝑎 ℎ𝑖𝑑𝑑𝑒𝑛 𝑓𝑖𝑠𝑡… 𝑀𝑐𝐷𝑜𝑛𝑎𝑙𝑑’𝑠 𝑐𝑎𝑛𝑛𝑜𝑡 𝑓𝑙𝑜𝑢𝑟𝑖𝑠ℎ 𝑤𝑖𝑡ℎ𝑜𝑢𝑡 𝑀𝑐𝐷𝑜𝑛𝑛𝑒𝑙𝑙 𝐷𝑜𝑢𝑔𝑙𝑎𝑠, 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑑𝑒𝑠𝑖𝑔𝑛𝑒𝑟 𝑜𝑓 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑈.𝑆. 𝐴𝑖𝑟 𝐹𝑜𝑟𝑐𝑒 𝐹-15. 𝐴𝑛𝑑 𝑡ℎ𝑒 ℎ𝑖𝑑𝑑𝑒𝑛 𝑓𝑖𝑠𝑡 𝑡ℎ𝑎𝑡 𝑘𝑒𝑒𝑝𝑠 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑤𝑜𝑟𝑙𝑑 𝑠𝑎𝑓𝑒 𝑓𝑜𝑟 𝑆𝑖𝑙𝑖𝑐𝑜𝑛 𝑉𝑎𝑙𝑙𝑒𝑦’𝑠 𝑡𝑒𝑐ℎ𝑛𝑜𝑙𝑜𝑔𝑖𝑒𝑠 𝑡𝑜 𝑓𝑙𝑜𝑢𝑟𝑖𝑠ℎ 𝑖𝑠 𝑐𝑎𝑙𝑙𝑒𝑑 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑈.𝑆. 𝐴𝑟𝑚𝑦, 𝐴𝑖𝑟 𝐹𝑜𝑟𝑐𝑒, 𝑁𝑎𝑣𝑦 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑀𝑎𝑟𝑖𝑛𝑒 𝐶𝑜𝑟𝑝𝑠.”
Sure they need to backup their financial system by military force, but that does not mean their military is capable to fight zone B or let alone some small muslim country like Afghanistan. Their strength lies in the capability to print endless dollars out of thin air is what ultimately drives their world conquest through color revolutions, NGOs and financial hitmen working for the IMF and World Bank.
dave,
This is their anxiety-provoking conundrum.
Up to recently, they were able to fight most places in Zone B, and intimidate enough to ensure USD supremacy.
However, since Syria debacle and resurrection of Russia.. everything changed.
Since then, endlessly printed USD are NOT being accepted, and they cannot enforce it where it counts.
So what do they do, those used to a rigged game and with few remaining skills or inclination to make an honest living?
This is what is making us sleepless lately.

Those Iranians have brass balls because their machine guns are mere pea shooters against those navy tin cans. If the Iranians had ship-killer missiles pointed from somewhere at the navy ships, the American sailors might have sweated a bit too, but mano a mano the destroyers would destroy all the speed boats, and the catamaran for good measure.
Well, at least on this day Uncle Sam’s latest attempt at armed robbery on the high seas failed. Israel must be so disappointed that both sides kept their powder dry.
You are very, very wrong. Want to know why? Check out Auslander’s comment:
/lots-of-things-happening-at-the-same-time/#comment-988351
Those speed boats would have turned the American destroyers in no time into swiss cheese. It was very stupid for the USN ships to get so close, thereby giving up all their advantages.
@Andrei
“The key factor here, as always, is that the Iranians were clearly willing to fight and, if needed, die for their country. The USN personnel not so much :-) ”
Another ugly truth is that those who gives orders to USN commanders couldn’t care less for the lives of its personnel. Couldn’t think of irreconcilable difference that is more devastating for the family, organization or military.
Anyway, US want to strain Iran’s commerce and military by harassing tankers. That make sense only if the monetary cost of engaging two destroyers is less or equal than cost of Irans countermeasures by speedboats.
That one is no-brainer. It is obviously far more expensive for the US taxpayers. For the those who ordered action it is free, so they have no reason to stop.
We are closing fast to the moment when someone will give them undeniable reason. The age of impunity is about to end. Hopefully not at the cost of human lives.
I have strong feeling that USN is about to share experience of Ukraine sailors when they tried to force way under Kerch bridge. Of course Ukraine is nothing like US nor Iran is Russia. But the shear strength difference between UkiNavy and USN is not a factor in this situation.
Iran’s determination is. They cannot not afford to be denied use of trade routes. In the background, there is China, knowing that they are next.
This will sharply escalate before any solution is possible.
Interesting the the US helicopter, apparently, fires flares in an effort to draw fire from IRGC. If that is true, someone wanted a shooting match.
Obviously no one has typed here what truly happened according the Iranians.
So for some months ago (not specified when and where) an Iranian tanker at sea was transferring oil to 2 smaller tankers, (one of them this leased Vietnamese tanker you see in the video).
Because Iran is sanctioned, it uses these “tricks” to sell its oil. By transferring oil at sea to other tankers etc.
But at that time some American military ships was closing in on the tankers and giving warnings about them violating sanctions and what not. So the 2 smaller tankers that had gotten the oil transferred to them, used that as a pretext to just sail away without paying for it, using the argument that if they paid for the oil US would sanction them!
One of the smaller tankers got caught by the Iranians at the time, and got escorted to Iranian territory, but this Vietnamese tanker got away!
Now fast track to this episode we see in the video, the Iranians say that they where tracking this tanker ever since waiting for an opportunity to catch it. That it was sailing under the US navy presence.
They got to the ship as you see on the video, got it under control, and sailed it to Iranian waters.
So here are the speculations, as some sources in Iran are leaking; that the captain of the ship, (and here I do not know if it was the large Iranian tankers captain, or the leased vietnamese tankers captain) had leaked the rendezvous of the oil transfer to the Americans, cause they usually always offer big sums of money and asylum, to Iranian captains if they are willing to betray Iranian interests. (There are a lot of evidence of this on the web.) And that the whole pretext the 2 smaller tankers where using for stealing Iranian oil, actually was planned from American side.
This is the story as it goes…
So Yes the US navy was trying hard in not letting this tanker enter Iranian waters, cause now its the 2. times this happens. First it was the British destroyer that could not “escort” the British (“little devil” as Khomeini put it) tanker, Stena Impero, even though it was tailing the tanker. And besides the British had officially sent the destroyer as to “guarantee safe passage” through the Hormoz, while the episode showed exactly the opposite!
And now this time it was the US (“big devil” quoting Khomeini again) navy, that could do exactly nothing, except send a flair into the sea, when Iranians just took another ship that was supposed to enjoy “western security”, showing the Iranian Gulf states that their so called allies are worth null, when they cant even protect a ship they unofficially had used to steal Iranian oil with.
So yeah, it was kinda a big deal, in the scheme of how companies and local countries from now will think about security, when they sail around Oman and the Arabian sea.
On another note, I personally liked how PressTV had added “terrorist” in front of “US navy”, when ever it mention them. It would say “the terrorist American navy”, which of course is the truth!
Fascinating how the American military inevitably turns to crime when it cannot win on the battlefield… or even stage a battle and create a battlefield, which, as some have said, was their purpose here. Is some country, like Russia, constantly monitoring the deployment of Israel military assets? Would be interesting to see how such coincides with highly provocative encounters such as this. Was Israel ready to fire their missile batteries or launch a sortee of fighter jets at Iran the moment this encounter turned to shooting? We know this coming war will be dedicated to Israel and Amerika’s BFF, Benny Netanyahoo.
On another front, why doesn’t Iran or Venezuela bring charges of piracy and grand theft against the US in the UN? At least repeatedly make a stink about this thuggery even if the US will just veto, veto, veto it all in the SC. These repeated acts of petty aggression with absolutely no consequences to the perpetrators are so reminiscent of the never-ending filibusters and vetos in Washington itself. No justice even within the borders of the Exceptional Country. Not when the tyrants are always awarded the famous “get out of jail free” card.
is the first video sped up or is that really how quick those boats move
Biden ready to change US nuclear weapons policy – reports
————————————
It does not look like Biden will go to far with his nuclear policy reforms.
https://www.politico.com/news/2021/11/05/pentagon-biden-nuclear-weapons-519738
Pentagon hawks are the best ally of the MIC, and as long as they can keep the spectrum of Russia and China as scarecrows, they would refuse to go down from their ambiguous “first use/pre-emptive” strike to “nuclear deterrent”.
O.T
The Waters video is in my opinion his best song yet, brings tears to my eyes.
I can’t get products needed for work. If one’s car breaks down in the US, it is a 3 months wait. Things aren’t exaggerated. Leadership and half the egg heads think discovering sexuality and genders is of the utmost importance during this nightmare. This flaming wreck will be self inflicting and deserved.
Biden ready to change US nuclear weapons policy – reports
———————————
Russia’s deputy foreign minister, Sergey Ryabkov, stated that in Russia “there is no reason to believe that (the) US can revise their policy and move to the principle of non-use of nuclear weapons first,” confirming US analysts Biden will have an uphill battle trying to redirect nuclear policy to a less aggressive position.
https://ria.ru/20211108/neprimenenie-1758003571.html
I know what happened. The IRGC was protecting the Vietnamese tanker as it conducted oil trade activities between Iranian and Vietnamese corporate interests. The U.S. Navy was attempting to enforce sanctions against Iran and Vietnam, and the IRGC directly intervened to stop the enforcement.
Thanks to the IRGC, the Vietnamese government can exercise “plausible deniability.”
;)
Hi, the tanker pictured carried oil transshipped FROM an Iranian tanker and was sailed to Bandar Abbbas where the stolen oil was offloaded and the tanker released.
The US Navy was ‘covering’ the entire piracy operation and you can expect footage when the denials grow!
