The Tobolsk Kremlin and Cvyato-Znamensky Abalaksky monastery
Absolutely wonderful. I have forwarded it to all my good friends (most of whom are apolitical)
I’ve always had a fascination with architecture – specially classical and folk.
But its in Russia’s West-meets-East Byzantine/European Kremlins and cathedrals you really see the true marriage of both.
What absolutely beautiful buildings – and the colours..just exquisite.
Any chance of the Saker getting a Russian architectural historian to write an article for the blog on this uniquely Russian phenomenon?
Certainly very beautiful and wonderful.
However – let’s not get distracted by unimportant superficials.
I want back the real Kremlin.
Architecture doesn’t matter. Ideologies and policies do.
As we saw Zyuganov’s KPRF, now also known as KPRteFft is a joke.
What we need is the rebirth of Lenin, Stalin 2.0
Wow, that’s amazing. Quite enchanting. I feel like going on a long trip to visit all these places.
