All my life I have been the kid that always asks “why”. Distrustful of authority rather than anti authority, but I guess anti authority until I understood the why. Drove my parents nuts.
Something has changed. Putin I trust. Russia is not my country nor my culture. I guess I’m getting old.
It is because of what Russia seems to have to offer to the world today and because of the charismatic personality of president Putin that i started studying the Russian language….I want to understand better a culture I suddenly find myself close to….guessing i am getting old?
“Putin I trust”
Trust in mankind is a vastly over-rated concept. Use it with exceeding care.
You trust your partner – next they tell you of an affair.
You trust your kids – they have one eye on the inheritance.
Only trust someone who cannot conceivably want anything from you or others.
You can only guess at what Putin’s real motivations are so, while you may appreciate the outcome of what you conceive as his strategy, finish at that and leave trust for the trustworthy. Putin only has power because of the trust of those who trust in him.
You shouldn’t trust him – especially a man who, if not already rich, could be at the click of his fingers. Anyone with that type of personal power should be treated with caution or shunned.
Keep on, and on, asking why?
It would be a sad life always being suspicious of my own family. A life hardly worth living if I could not trust my wife and children.
I very few people and never before have I trusted a politician.
As for Putin, all his life, he no doubt has had opportunities to make money on the side but he does not seem to have gone that way I doubt at this stage in his life he can be bought.
…I trust very few people….
“It would be a sad life always being suspicious of my own family. A life hardly worth living if I could not trust my wife and children.”
You don’t need to trust them – just love them. No need for sadness at all.
Looking up the definition of the word “love” it seems to be loosely defined and loosely used. Well suited to the “modern”, often temporary family if various things individually, like trust, empathy, respect, are missing.
Love implies empathy I therefore have no idea what you mean.
http://plato.stanford.edu/entries/trust/
“Trust is an attitude that we have towards people whom we hope will be trustworthy, where trustworthiness is a property, not an attitude. Trust and trustworthiness are therefore distinct although, ideally, those whom we trust will be trustworthy, and those who are trustworthy will be trusted. For trust to be warranted (i.e. plausible) in a relationship, the parties to that relationship must have attitudes toward one another that permit trust. Moreover, for trust to be warranted (i.e. well-grounded), both parties must be trustworthy.”
Since Putin’s trustworthiness is unknown it seems your trust is likely risky:
” But trust also involves the risk that people we trust will not pull through for us; for, if there were some guarantee that they would pull through, then we would have no need to trust them.[1] Thus, trust is also dangerous. What we risk while trusting is the loss of the things that we entrust to others, including our self-respect, perhaps, which can be shattered by the betrayal of our trust.”
Perhaps you just enjoy gambling.
@ Peter AU
I sincerely hope you don’t experience the disappointment of misplaced trust. No politico, of whatever hue, should be trusted if what you believe in may come into conflict with the aims, desires and ambitions that motivate him/her, which are unknown to you.
You would be severely distressed if Vladimir Vladimirovitch turned up a turn-coat, crushing your vision of a fairer world.
I went through that kind of distress with the end of the USSR (not because I agreed/trusted the leadership, far from it) because I “knew” the world would be ruled by an ideology of greed, dog-eats-dog primitive Darwinism, me-first egocentrism, an Orwellian nightmare. And I felt very sorry for my very young children and regret for being their father.

According to this there is “trouble ahead” from Prof. Cohen. I think he is naive about what Putin plans in the Ukraine in response to the craziness there.

Again, several possibilities what’s up next, & Lebanon definitely is in the news a lot recently.
I am expecting some kind of giant-size ‘payback’ by the neocons/ZATO as thanks to Putin for embarrassing them, but also because Putin never learns.
Distinguished Israeli-American academic calls for annihilation of Lebanon
Amitai Etzioni, a noted Israeli-American academic, published an alarming piece last month arguing that Israel should not endanger its own troops, who he claimed would be expected to identify and dismantle many of Hezbollah’s 100,000 rockets before they could be fired. Rather, Israel should use a devastating weapons system that would save Israeli lives while annihilating large swaths of territory in which Lebanese civilians live.

Ireland To Prosecute Top Banker Who Destroyed Their Economy —
I hope this is O.K. I need to try and explain..I get banned from posting nearly everywhere..but someone on here recommended a book called “Scum of the Earth” by Arthur Koestler and I bought the book about a month ago…It started off well quite slow..in the Riviera in the South of France…it was just a book at bedtime..before my wife came to bed..maybe an hour or a chapter or so…not every night of course…but then his words got under my skin as I was falling asleep cuddling my wife..and I never have nightmares – not since being a kid,,,,
And I half woke up – almost screaming inside – what did it to me was…well you just need to read the book…
Meanwhile I just wrote this..
Its hard to explain this feeling because I have never been a grandfather before and of course our home is suddenly full of family and friends ..he’s not a week old yet..and his auntie is cuddling him as if she is his mum ..and they just look all my family…is it ok if i take a photograph…
and then I get seriously told off by my daughter in the kitchen – and my wife comes to defend me…as I am measuring out the ingredients – for tomorrow morning’s fresh bread now cooking…
Tony,Wife,Son,Daughter,Mum&Grandson+3cats
I have met her boyfriend and of course..if you love him and he loves you and the time is right..we have a big house and home..Making Babies is what our home was designed for…but don’t make it too obvious..

Seems like Putin cast a spell over the planet. Folks are like deer caught in the headlights, wondering who turned on the lights. At least I am. May it last forever.
Don’t be dazzled by the brightness. It hides the dangers lurking in the shade.
Love has the same effect.
Yet, should one live under a rock?

More appropriate for the MSM and those that believe it ?
Choices, choices, choices…Complete global financial collapse and a new Dark Age; The” 6th Great Extinction” caused by “Civilization” itself; Nuclear wars morphing into WW3; More plastic in the seas that all life forms; Endless Geo-engineering(“chem trails”); Biological warfare. Weather gone insane; and more psychopaths than the earth can maintain…and I don’t consider my self a pessimist-simply a realist/sceptic. And it is such a damned beautiful planet to explore, strange.

Erdogan: Democracy, Freedom Have ‘Absolutely No Value Any Longer’
Vows to Turn Military on Political Opposition
by Jason Ditz, March 16, 2016
Concerns about Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s authoritarian leanings have been at the fore in the nation’s political dialogue since he assumed the presidency, and appear to have been well founded, as in a televised speech today he declared “democracy,, freedom, and the rule of law have absolutely no value any longer.”
And “democracy,, freedom, and the rule of law are the most cherished values in the USA, the “leader of the free world”? Along with their numerous vassals? Please, give one example in the world where those values are not compromised! I understand the urge to picture the Turks as the virus on the Earth, but with so many viruses, what is the point in picturing only one as dangerous? They all kill the body…
http://www.presstv.ir/Detail/2016/03/17/456272/Turkey-Ahmet-Davutoglu-Ankara-HDP
Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu has called for stripping all parties of their parliamentary immunity to allow for prosecution in an apparent bid to intensify pressure on pro-Kurdish opposition lawmakers.
“Let’s lift all these immunities. There are 506 motions before parliament on lifting immunity,” Davutoglu said in Ankara on Thursday.
He further noted that all parliamentary immunities can be removed “right away” by adding a temporary clause to the constitution.
Like France’s ‘temporary’ martial law.
I would say based on the flurry of announcements, pronouncements & damn near proclamations that they are trying to distract from their little (temporary) setback in Syria.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has called on the country’s parliament to redefine Ankara’s anti-terrorism law and “swiftly” end the immunity from prosecution for pro-Kurdish lawmakers.
The Turkish premier on Wednesday accused pro-Kurdish lawmakers of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) of “inciting terrorism,” during a speech at the presidential palace in the capital, Ankara.

Hillary R. Clinton,
Secretary of State.
Dear Madame Secretary,
*The people of Okinawa have never welcomed the continuous presence of United States military bases since the end of the Battle of Okinawa in 1945. We have been deprived of opportunities to express our own will regarding the bases. In his famous Fourteen Points speech, President Woodrow Wilson stated that “a free, open-minded, and absolutely impartial adjustment of all colonial claims, based upon a strict observance of the principle that in determining all such questions of sovereignty the interests of the populations concerned must have equal weight with the equitable claims of the government whose title is to be determined.” Yet even today the people of Okinawa do not fully own the right of self-determination which President Wilson saw as an essential condition for world peace. The very origins of the military base issue in Okinawa lie in the lack of this right of self-determination……………*

Sadly there has been another airliner crash with all on board killed. This involved a FlyDubai Boeing 737-800 at Rostov-on-Don. Bad weather appears a major factor and one could also speculate pilot error (getHomeItis perhaps?) if conditions were inappropriate for landing.
This was the second approach and from the video, if authentic, the plane appears to me to have broken up in the air as the descent is at about 60 degrees, in freefall and on fire prior to impact just before the runway threshold. Of the possibilities that occur to me, only a tall structure/ground off camera, severe turbulence, lightning strike, flight control inputs beyond the design stress limits, mid-air collision or some internal explosion could cause that fire prior to landing.
Using Google maps I am having dificulty placing the camera location -so close to the runway with a dual lane road, trees in between and cars zipping along it. Aksayskiy Avenue perhaps?

As vulgar, cowardly and despicable as ever, the British bloviator though never misses an opportunity for a first impression ‘Russia stab in the back’ villifier meme:
The headline you first saw was “Russia plane crash’, now modified to “Russia plane crash: Dozens killed in Rostov-on-Don”
No matter that only the location is in Russia near the Ukraine border. The aircraft is American and the airline from Dubai, but the meme connection tells you that it is “Russia plane” and “crash”.
You have to read further to get the details that tell a slightly different story. Clever, eh?
