Welcome to the ‘Moveable Feast Cafe’. The ‘Moveable Feast’ is an open thread where readers can post wide ranging observations, articles, rants, off topic and have animate discussions of the issues of the day.
The ‘Moveable Feast Cafe’ will have two new open threads each week.
The Saker stated moderation policy will apply eg ‘no caps’, no obscenity … etc to all post.
The Cafe is now open for business … come on in and have a good time.
Saker Webmaster
I forgot the link on the previous cafe:
BBC calling! BBC calling! Count the lies and deception.
Protecting Europe from ballistic missiles
http://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-36271074
NATO is now a country:
“Russia has been flexing its military muscle near to Nato’s borders and the Alliance has responded by stepping up its own military exercises.”
“Russia has a track record of being misleading and worse – not least over its intervention in both Ukraine and Syria” What’s apparently worse is not mentioned -excellent propaganda technique.
I note though a few cracks in the deceptive writing -odd for the virulently russophobic BBC -still they forgot to mention this system has nothing to do with protecting anybody and everything to do with a US first strike attack on Russia -and defeating any defensive Russian missiles.
Romania and Poland now have laser targets on their heads -how much money went under the table?
Just when I thought you were closed, you opened in Paris where the patron saint is Saint Denis. I’ve got two n’s in my name, Dennis. I’ve got two to his one and so does the comic Denis Leary. Makes me feel like a man, not an also ran. Dennis comes from Dionysus, a frequenter of vineyards where wine and women danced the bacchus tango in Paris. I was in Paris before 9/11. Ate couscous near a table of ugly Americanos so I felt at home.
Things are getting ugly out there. Paris is not so safe these days. I’ve got a million things on my mind that need to get off my chest. But I’ve got to sleep on it first lest my bubble burst and I die of thirst two feet from that coffee cup. I’m on a rant as you can see so please pardonne moi. Wee?
I hope to see you in the morning with a cleared up head. If you’ve solved the world’s problems by then I’ll sit in a corner by the wine bar’s end and wait for my long lost friend.
“Don’t the moon look good, mama
Shining through the tree?
Don’t my gal look fine
When she’s comin’ after me”
This proxy terror thing is part of our lives now. The uninformed are in danger ie travelling.
ISIS will continue to be used by its intel handlers in the terror cell ‘need to know’ system so that by filters the low ranking ‘true believers’ dont know the true bosses giving the orders are western / mid east intel.
“The uninformed are in danger ie travelling.”
Are you suggesting that we should not travel anymore?
This is what they precisely want us to do, IMO.
In fact I think that all of us able to do it should literally flood Lebanon this year before they turn it in pile of rubble nightmare like they did with the beautiful Syria…..
The latest graphic and bloody compilation video of battles in Syria with important translations done by R&U youtube channel:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fHd5pG1Gz2M
The starting scene shows a group of SAA soldiers or militias being blown to pieces by a TOW ATGM and later in the video scenes of death in Zara. Its seems that highly portable guided precision anti-tank and anti-personnel weapons will be of increasing importance in any infantry force. With faster reloading ability and lower weight, their effectiveness will increase against opposing armor, infantry and fortifications.
The war in Syria is not going well for the government and its allies…
Thank you for all these posts, Ali. I really appreciate the updates.
Oh I think one needs to depend more than on just one video on youtube to figure out the state of the war in Syria: Try these below and then, of course, the latest South Front video which you usually can find in a section of The Vineyard:
http://www.fort-russ.com/2016/05/kurds-shoot-down-turkish-ah-1-cobra.html
or quoting Pentagon sources
http://news.antiwar.com/2016/05/13/pentagon-claims-isis-declares-state-of-emergency-in-raqqa/
Hi teranam13, I said that the Syrian war is not going well for the loyalists is mainly due to the following:
Every Syrian soldier that is killed is not replaceable and to some extent same for their allies. The terrorists, on the other hand, have a huge recruitment pool all over the world to attract disposable militants from. Time is on the terrorists’ and their sponsor’s side and they know this. Lots of KIA, little territory liberated since Palmyra and fierce terrorists attacks in Aleppo, Deir ez-Zor and vicinity of Palmyra itself is a big concern for me.
I visit Fort-Russ too! But they seldom, if not none, will ever post gruesome videos or images of defeats of the SAA. Its a bias which I understand :)
However, R&U’s youtube channel frequently releases compilation of militant’s and government’s combat videos with important translations, is a better source of information for me.
The war seems to be at another critical point at Aleppo. If liberated Aleppo falls to the “moderate terrorists” might see hostilities resuming in other parts of Syria currently under ceasefire. The SAA will be tied up in many areas. And possibly a Turkish invasion for some land grab for whatever lame reasons. If occupied Aleppo is liberated by the SAA or any strategically important area, that will continue the momentum. I now tend to view the “moderate terrorists” as the main threat due to increased military and diplomatic support from the usual suspects. ISIS is becoming a free-for-all target.
I think the fate of Aleppo rests primarily on the Russian Aerospace Forces (RAF) since huge bombardments will be needed to even start a massive attempt to liberate Aleppo and to destroy troop concentrations. The Syrian Air Force is unable to deliver that, for obvious reasons. And since Russia is now playing the peace-maker, any large U-turn would spark “bloody murder” cries diplomatically…
The mentality of any “cease-fire” with the west-backed groups in Syria (similar in Ukraine):
1) Any cease-fire violations are your fault
2) Any death that occurred in terrorist territory is crime against humanity
3) Any death that occurred in government territory is still your fault or didn’t happen (or due to your own shelling)
4) The government forces are solely responsible for any breakdown of ceasefire agreements
5) Terrorists have the right to shoot whenever they please
6) Government forces have no right to retaliate under any circumstances
Its becoming a charade and will Russia untie herself and act decisively to end the war sooner for herself and her allies?
@ Ali
I also see similarities with the Ukraine situation in that the “cease-fires” have been used by the bad guys (Ukronazis and terrorists) to improve their positions or get away from impending destruction. Hard to understand the Russian tactics.
>” Hard to understand the Russian tactics.”
Not if you consider the Russian leadership as part of the global oligarchy.
Try not to be utterly ridiculous.
Provide proof of your assertions – otherwise you should refrain from uttering such idiocy.
I totally agree with Isabella. There is plenty of proof the contrary is the case, but some prefer to walk around like blind people. I fact, I’m sure blind people are able of more awareness than prejudiced ones
“There is plenty of proof the contrary is the case”
Well, meet me half way
global– national oligarchy?I hope Russia and China are doing some joint R&D on weapons systems.
India swapped sides, Brazil taken out, South Africa?
I guess now it’s just a matter of waiting to see if Russia and China will live on their knees under the US empire or take the attack to the empire.
A big decision to make as any war with the US, win or lose, will result in hundreds of millions dead all around.
Peter AU,
You tried to simplify the one decade old resistance against hegemon, in 5 lines :)
The basis of your narrative itself is flawed – at no point of time BRIC(S) could even dream of a military confrontation with USA and NATO. BRICS always strived to achieve multi-polarity through trade and commerce and banking.
The possibility of military confrontation is very very real for the countries like Russia, China, USA, Japan, NATO because, there is a high stake for gaining/losing power and control in Asia-Europe-Africa. The Hegemonic camp knows very well that they have minimum possibility of winning this confrontation.
BRICS was an alternative to US hegemony. Now BRICS is finished.
Russia and China will be isolated from the rest of the world if no strong action is taken. Hermit kingdoms like North Korea. US will not change its current course. Citizens of China and Russia will have to devote their energies to defence from the US empire. Not much of a life.
there are no rules, no international law, in current geo-politics. Russia and China will have to cause the US a lot of grief if they want to stay a part of this globalised world.
Oh Peter, The Empire Opera ain’t over til the Fat Lady sings,
Or Slick Willie’s Harridan Hag Hitlery, failing in all other things
Pushes the button on behalf of Rothschilds and Beelzebub
Fearing a revolt of millions of minds enslaved–There’s the rub!
Meanwhile BRICS may get rearranged,as Brazil sits out
A scene or two, South Africa goes down, but, no doubt
Comes bobbing back to the surface, gasping for breath.
For as long as there is love and life, there is no death.
And what of the Donald, his Ace in the Whole Deal?
Well let’s just say an endorsement from Darth Vader Dick
Ain’t the kind of kiss that makes a Joker and a hustler real
No! It rather shows a mutual grasping that can never stick!
This whole three ring circus thing is so damned unstable
That come this November, just imagine, if you’re able,
The elephants revolt, Big Top’s whole tent comes down,
Hag’s eaten by a tiger, a new acrobat flies in above the clown.
It ain’t over til it’s over. Yogi Berra
Let’s just hope it’s something, someone, somehow NEW, and not “Deja vu, All over again!”
Let’s do our part to make the seemingly impossible to imagine, able to manifest the will of the Great Architect of the Universe, instead of Satanic bankers, Haggish Hitlery, evil old Lizzie, and worse!
Bro Anon
As I see we got infection
On the Road to the perfection
That’s the way to do,it seems
All the way in songs and rims
We’re in Paris ? wonderful. In the last Cafe was posted the following comment :
“I went to sleep and I actually saw Kerry in my dreams…not really pleasant. I guess we will need some better skills on reverse talk (Hi Bro Anon) to be able to understand this kind of “messages”…” posted from v.
So now I found this piece of paper on my desk, with my coffee :
I just woke up, what a dream and what a wonder…
It was Kerry in that corner ? very angry, like a thunder !
I was scared and tried to run, this is no more like some fun.
And his face…like Trojan Horse, only bigger, only worse
With the skulls and bones in front.
To make peace or to confront ?
As a moderate I’m not and don’t look and smell like rat,
He shall crash me in a shot.
“What to do ? ” asked Lenin short
While the things get very hot, this was not the best support.
As he comes, he went away…letting Lavorv in the play :
” I will make a deal with him, I Know Kerry from within ”
What the Hell ? this situation…did you got the equation ?
In a classroom of their owns, with the sign of skulls and bones
What a nightmare, what a dream !
Good to be here, with the Team
Waiter ! bring me up some Cherry, after such a dream with Kerry !
I’m sorry,the Anonymous at 7:09 was me : ioan
@ ioan
Great description of my dream. I wonder if you were actually there or, are we in this vineyard getting tuned into the One as we should be? this gives me hope at the same as I realize how addictive coffee in this cafe is becoming…at least for me:-)
thanks ioan
I share now a piece of one of the great masters of love. This month, I think the 11th is the anniversary of his most felt death, Bob Marley
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vdB-8eLEW8g
Thanks Vercia, frankly i don’t know how these words came into my mind but was funny.Bob Marley’s music is a wonder, certainly I did listen to other pieces on that page. “No woman no cry” – evokes the good old times when dancing cheek to cheek with a lovely girl , or more. I was in loved many times, which was the real one I don’t know, probably all.
ioan, keep the verses coming. They resonate. They express foreboding, but the fact that they are flowing signifies a foundation of courage and care, newly poured, is curing, is fortifying.
I read your first poem at the biweekly poetry club in my area. People liked it. The time before I read one of Dennis’ magical streams of consciousness balanced on the razor’s edge of poetry and prose, madness and the sublime, silliness and creative intelligence. People were instantly won over to his side, and went “tut, tut”, so disapprovingly, at my tendency to chide.
I brought my laptop and played this clip from The Dead Poet’s Society:
https://youtu.be/gQU3EphIpMY
The club was blown away, and to this day, I am amazed that such a club could exist without anyone thinking of bringing their lap top and playing that scene. Well that may change, now.
I suggested that Jim (wife from Minsk) and Margaret (husband from Czech Republic) go online and drop in on one of these “internet cafes”.
So, Moveable Feast Muses and Bards, Fear not Fame, but let loose your verse:
On Fame by John Keats
FAME, like a wayward girl, will still be coy
To those who woo her with too slavish knees,
But makes surrender to some thoughtless boy,
And dotes the more upon a heart at ease;
She is a Gipsey,—will not speak to those 5
Who have not learnt to be content without her;
A Jilt, whose ear was never whisper’d close,
Who thinks they scandal her who talk about her;
A very Gipsey is she, Nilus-born,
Sister-in-law to jealous Potiphar; 10
Ye love-sick Bards! repay her scorn for scorn;
Ye Artists lovelorn! madmen that ye are!
Make your best bow to her and bid adieu,
Then, if she likes it, she will follow you.
Gipsy-Kings Viento Del Arena

Love, love the Gypsy Kings! Thanks for another great musical post, elsi. I haven’t listened to their music for years now. The exotic sounds take my breath away, especially since I have lived my entire life in the Great White North. (OK, no igloos here, but still far away from the equator). As this music plays, I am transported to an entirely different locale…
I adore the Gypsy Kings!! thanks a lot. They make me feel on vacation
This is an amazing clip, not just the music played by Gypsy Kings, but the stage of the imagery, the atmosphere with that horse and that lady in blue. Thanks elsi.
Wasn’t that lady You,
Riding on the ever Blue ?
Thanks for your encouragement Bro, since I engaged myself in this Cafe, the dots in my brain are connecting in strange and funny way. (see what I see, even this sentence is an example).Maybe Dennis has some fault in this as our friend Kim warned me.The dream of course was not mine, I just put it in verses using my imagination – I hope I can’t read somebody’s else mind,it would be scary indeed.Skull and Bones is an undergraduate senior secret society at Yale University which Kerry attended, together with Bush junior. The horse refers to his face – many are calling him “horse face”, the term “moderate” comes from the Syrian conflict and “smells like a rat” refers to what Lavrov said :
“who looks like a terrorist…” and so on.Lavrov as we know is making deals with Kerry on Syria and Ukraine, therefore the “equation” .The clip is very, very good as the whole film is, Robin Williams being one of my favorite actors. Interesting that he played mostly two types of characters : comic and melancholic. That you have a poetry club in you area is wonderful. For me that is wishful thinking, I consider myself very far from real poetry. What I am doing is just have some fun in playing with the words. Next time in this Cafe I will put on here something which I hope will be allowed. I can tell you in advance,it will be funny, very funny.
Elsi and ioan:
First, Elsi for Art Director from the Atlantic Basque coast of Spain to today’s offering, her selections stand out in the aesthetic lead! By 30 lengths!
My thought of these Arabians (aren’t they the most beautiful horses?) with the Gypsy Woman was the Spanish contrast, spiritually, with the matador, his cape of deception (such a symbolic representation of the dark occult oligarchy toying with and slaying a far heavier and more powerful, but stupid beast, the Spanish public, all to their own suicidal cheers!) versus the blue and red robes of the Gitana, creating, instead of deceit and death, beauty and coordination and art between a Goddess that Cares, and a magnificent steed that “gets it” and responds as an artist of movement and coordination himself, a beast but elevated in consciousness to something much more than a stallion!
I think the oppressed of the earth would be better served by applauding La Gitana y su caballo fantastico, than “El toreador”. Or the killer.
I picked up the density of your geopolitical ideas in your lines above. They were clear. Feel free to stretch them far more. Some of the most wonderous metaphors are those that the listener or reader is simply amazed at, in terms of wondering how on earth or in the stars the connections and resonances made by the poet composer they just heard or read could ever, in a million years, ever remotely come close to emerging from their own brains. Those are the metaphors that can resonate for a lifetime, building in richness and complexity and degrees of ambiguity and shades of reflection that simply keep going and going and going, and never die out! And get passed on to future generations. Immortal art.
Those lines that reverberate only briefly, that last only a few hours or days are also very beneficial. For they, sharpen the synapses of the right brain to tune in more powerfully for reception of the art of the great poets, composers and artists and enable better and more valuable thoughts to be generated by all men, women and children living in the cultures that recognize and foster the potential for creativity in every single member of society.
When you have that attitude, the shyness fades away, Usually after a mental/spiritual breakthrough manifests in laughter or joy, in a far from usual burst, that actually changes you permanently, for the better. Freedom!
Looking forward to your comic work in progress getting finished and polished up for Cafe Le Saker!
@ ioan
I suspected it was you, visited by muses and ogres!
I also dream of a Kerry but a different one: the Ring of Kerry (proper name Morchuaird Chiarrai) a place of charm and legend, imposing dolmens and stunning cliffs, a landscape dominated by stones and stories, home of a branch of the megalithic builders of Europe the Empire of the time missed.
Hi,Anonime – it sounds tempting, I will check that name, and what he has to offer.thanks

Trump is fast becoming the next Barack Obama. He’s already screwing over his supporters. Look at his alliances.
Trump and AnthonyScramucci
I am crushed. Call me naive, call me stupid, whatever.
I simply cannot believe that Trump has taken on this little scrawny, mousy, 1%-er Wall Street hedge fund guy, Anthony Scaramucci, on his finance team.
Okay, he wants to raise money. I get it. But SCARAMUCCI?? The guy loathed Trump. Threw all kinds of insults his way, but what’s even worse, this little dude is not for the working people. He’s not for an end to fake “globalization.” He’s not for hedge fund operators paying their fair share. He’s not for ending or curtailing the rigged financial games of Wall Street.
The guy’s an un-apologetic cheerleader of the 1-percent. Of the financial predators.
And that’s not all…he’s got that EXTREME LIBERTARIAN, Silicon Valley tech billionaire, Peter Thiel, working on his finance team, too.
I can’t believe this. I simply cannot believe this.
Trump has let me down. Big time. He’s gonna screw everyone supporting him right now.
Bernie’s the only guy and he doesn’t have a chance.
We’re screwed…again.
Let’s just make money.

The tell was when Trump selected Roger Stone, and then when there was pushback against him, Trump just replaced him with Stone’s longtime associate and partner Paul Manafort, who is less flamboyant than Stone but cut from the same cloth based on past performance.
Even though Stone is no longer officially advising Trump, he was on with Axes Jones as soon as the story broke about Cruz’s father’s alleged relationship with Lee Harvey Oswald.
See Snopes, Was Ted Cruz’s Father Linked to the JFK Assassination?
This is the kind of hitting-below-the-belt politics that Stone and Manafort are famous for, and that Trump himself often resorts to.
That Trump would ever become a straight shooter given his record beggars belief.

Well, what did the guys in the above post expect from a rich boy making his money in casinos and such? Not exactly a boy scout crowd. The guy is a player, and he will stab you in the back if it suits him. No doubt about it. I’d trust him about as far as I could toss a train.
Either Putin is dangerously naive or just playing along. Putin is way too soft on the West, but maybe he’s just cautiously biding his time until the armed forces are really where he wants them to be–say within another year and a half or two. I think NATO knows this very well and will strike without warning next year, once Clinton or Trump are in power (not that they really call the shots, by any means).
Hi Roger, maybe Trump is learning from Putin and try to imitate him by showing the same signs of disease like in the case with Kudrin.
Here Nicolai Starikov “position” short movie, where he talks about Russian economy and lead direct attack on MP Medvedev and part of government (Central Bank, Finance Minister).
Sorry, only in Russian.

Unfortunately, Mr. Starikov is right.
In this context is remarkable to see the latest Solovjev show from May 13th, where the same government economic policy was criticized, albeit in milder form.

Man, this is getting dangerously serious. Getting closer to home too. By home I mean multi-leveled: this cafe, my town, the dozen or so people I live near on a three acre plot of land, country, planet; we’re all threatened by an invisible plague being scrutinized here.
Thanks so much for the support: ioan’s poetry, Anon’s everything under the goddess sun, Vercia’s connection to one love Marley and dearly departed Robin’s barbaric Yalt which again brought tears. And so many, many more that unfortunately cannot be named. And above all the Saker and his strategic analysis with musical heart.
I feel a change coming on. I feel somber and fearful, like the overcast weather outside in this sunland. I’ve got to grow up and stop pretending. I can’t do it without you. “I was all right until I fell in love with you.”
Here’s the deal. I need the real. I love romance like one love, one song, one heart. But that’s not going far enough for love goes all the way. 99% is a bitch; but 100% is a breeze, or so it’s said.
I’m developing this fantasy which has a core of reality. Is there anyone out there who loves us and can prove it by deeds? I’ve gone through every ism you can imagine including God and Goddess “ism’s.” For me, they have not worked well. If they did, why am I in such a state and the world in such a mess?
Now my back is to the wall of time and it’s the empire or me. I’m holding my last trump like Putin perhaps and reaching the point where I will call in the bets and bluffs or be called in myself. I’m still talking in riddles to avoid that unknown middle.
So what’s the use? The existential dilemma. The essential dementia. For me it has to be solved in community or not at all. I’ve tried to do it alone and failed miserably. I extrapolate: the world will solve it in community or not at all. It’s not communal sex yet but it’s getting there.
I take heart from lovers in community, no matter how deranged they may be. “I’m not afraid to make love with a bitch or a hag.” The original love commons is the anchor for my storm crossed boat. The epistimological question of how do I know asserts itself. Not cogito ergo sum but I love therefore I am; and its corollary: I am loved, therefore I am.
Back to the army since war has called this vineyard into loving. An army of lovers has heeded our call because it loves us. But this is not a Marley love, wonderful as that may be. An army of love is built on the authority of love which has very strict rules of behavior; at least if it wants to win any kind of war.
The lover army has ten divisions: the first is thinking; in this case thinking with love. As philosophy, love (philia) and knowledge (sophia). I think love and everything else falls under this central command. It’s a choice, ratified by the mind and confirmed with feeling.
I can feel that army coming. I understand the circumstances of its coming. I choose to assist its coming. I share with the multi-polar communities that I am involved with openly and confusedly because love will have it so.
I feel better for sharing, even though a la Jesus, it is only the stones who hear and respond. I am loved and therefore I can love. Jesus as man said: I can do nothing except by my Father. She’sus the everyman said: I can do all with my Lover. Specific cultural contexts are not broken but opened to a larger view of thought.
I feel like the time has come according to my Timex to pause. I’ve already said too much and not enough in a foreign language. I feel your love (and hate and indifference) which is enough for now. I will nurture my sadness with a walk in the wilds of my mind.
I’ve asked for help in the form of an army of lovers 100,000 strong from across space and time, including some from 100,000 years ago who were in the love culture of Eden, and possibly a handful on the planet now. I don’t include myself because my role seems to be that of a disposable game ball that can be kicked, handled, hit, struck or caressed in a pitcher’s glove.
Time to put the ball in play and let the game have its day.
I think what brings us together on this site is our love for humanity as a whole.
I am concerned that this is a level of abstraction and outreach only few people are truly capable of. It is all too easy to get distracted by selfish aims. Wanting-ever-more seems to be a serious non-treatable disease that potentially erases humans from this planet. I observe that this disease ravages particularly in the power-elite.
“The second coming” is a wonderful reflection on human culture.

Whatever comes out from your lovely brain,
You can be sure, it’s not in vain.
The Pussy Riots with some Carrots

But never mind, they are like Harlots
The end will never be the same.
I wrote the same on other post

My reaction? Reminds me of Heinrich Heine.
Here’s one, in a quick search, before I garb a bite for dinner:
‘Ich glaub nicht an den Himmel’
I don’t believe in Heaven,
Whose peace the preacher cites:
I only trust your eyes now,
They’re my heavenly lights.
I don’t believe in God above,
Who gets the preacher’s nod:
I only trust your heart now,
And have no other god.
I don’t believe in Devils,
In hell or hell’s black art:
I only trust your eyes now,
And your devil’s heart. Many a surprising, ironic twist!

A new poll reveals that some 80% of Britons would rather immigrate to Russia than remain in the United Kingdom.
78 percent of more than 22,000 British citizens polled by the UK tabloid, The Express, told the paper that they would readily go to Russia in exchange for free land there.
This followed reports that Russian President Vladimir Putin was offering 2.5 acres of land for free to people willing to move to the country’s Far East in a bid to boost the area’s economy.

After watching parade on Red Square, I found few videos from last year, and it looks like there is also kind of unofficial part of parade, which are kind of telling about morale of army and people and their relation.
It looks that soldiers with their officers are giving kind of second parade for “ordinary” people who are not able to attend Red Square..

and the nato idiots want to take these guys on with their jobless don’t-care recruits?
RT (and the MSM) has an interesting article about the noted boxer Tyson Fury “the Gypsy King”. He beat Wladimir Klitschko to win several World Heavyweight titles. And is scheduled to fight him in a rematch July 9th. Considering Klitschko is the brother of the idiotic pro-bandera Mayor of Kiev, a boxer himself. I think anyone can figure out I hope Fury wins. But Fury is no “PC guy” himself. And has gotten himself in trouble with the zionists and the usual suspects among the EU/US bad guys. He is accused of racist anti-Semitism and homophobia (no surprise there). For obvious reasons few and far between are the fighters that support “gay rights”. Though public statements aren’t usually made. There are calls to “ban him from sports”. The accusation of anti-Semitism follows his statement that “Zionist, Jewish people … own all the banks, all the papers, all the TV stations.” A statement that,as we all know here,is pretty much true. So to break it all down. The zionists want to ban him from sports for not being PC and for saying the truth (though maybe in an A-holish manner). Not for being a bad fighter, but for not being PC. Quite the World we live in. You don’t need to be a loser to fail. But must be PC to succeed.Personally, I’d probably think Fury merits the A-hole accusation if I met him. But that has zero to do with his talent in sports. When you allow politics and personal opinion into sport, you ruin the entire concept of sports.

That is preposterous at least, the main Narcissist cannot endure the truth coming out from a fighter – in the real sense of the word. The world we live in,is turned around from within.

You know the most attractive..most beautiful girls – you think you want to spend the rest of your life with…
You will not understand this…unless you well almost for the first year Live with them…

I seriously did not understand it
I am just a man.
I thought the girls would be normal like boys.
They are not…well not the girls I fell in love with
They are all Mad…
You try and Rationalise with them…like have a normal conversation..and you get a Massive Verbal Attack..like wtf did I say or do wrong..I thought I was on my best behaviour…
What did I do wrong??
I just Love Them – how can you not?
My Ex is about to become a Grannie…
we exchange notes and thoughts
She is a Lovely Girl..she was nearly my wife..but we split up and went our seperate ways…
We have both got kids much the same age…and now (nearly) grandkids
Her first grandchild was due today.
We split up 35 years ago..but we still love each other and think about each other even when we have no contact whatsoever in years.
We didn’t do anything wrong and we never betrayed each other.
I thought she would be mine forever…
and then I met another girl.
We didn’t do anything wrong
It’s just life.
Of course I still love her to bits..but I don’t know her son and daughter and she doesn’t know mine.
She has met my wife – and they got on fine.

Waiter ! bring me some Vodka, after that Contest which was not a good fest.
Saw that Eurovision Contest, with the stars of Moon in fest ?
Who’s the winner, I am not, neither Wurstly, s/he was guest.

Did you watch it ? Good for you, I don’t need an indigestion.
How I find out, here in Vineyard, in the fury of that race
Mother Russia, got Jamala as a snap on beauty’s face.
Outrageous it may be, yes ! but the lesson must be learned,
If she doesn’t want tomorrow or the after to be burned.
Now is time to make some cleaning, what is rot just throw it out !
That will make you be more stronger and your kids to be more proud.
Stop with calling on your “partner”, don’t remember nine and elf ?
We are watching in the window, be so kind and be yourself.
We live in a surreal world on the borderland of reality and fantasy. We desperately need something solid in all the slippery relativism.
War is the out-breaking of an inner disease. We start at where we’re at. This site is situated in the war zone and so I have sit down there. But I need not stay there.
I want to continue to develop the theme of war in a new key. Who can say where it lies between reality and fantasy?
The song is about 100,000 love warriors from across space and time, joined by our earthling ancestors of 100,000 years ago from Eden, along with a handful of misfits living now on this planet.
Arma virumque cano. Of arms and men I sing.
They are responding to our SOS. They come in through the North Pole magnetic auroral field like the ancient Russians to join forces with the Eden lovers.
The lover warriors have ten divisions, all of them under the command of the Lover, a code word for all us lovers everywhere and everywhen. The ten divisions are integrally trained so they can transfer from one to the other seamlessly.
The operational mode is individually personified so that any one person can assume responsibility at all levels even up to division commander. All depends and defends one and one the same for all.
The enemy empire operates on an entirely different structure of top down authoritarian obedience. This modus operandi is thoroughly understood by love warriors enabling them to get to the root/apex of the organization.
The first division focuses on thought. It practices love in all its complexity and simplicity from the center of love thinking, characterized by cooperation rather than competition, loverarchy rather than hierarchy, power-with rather than power-over and many other similar differential dynamics.
The enemy empire’s thought is based on separate beings, objects, essences and other fixed and controllable pieces.
The love person’s thought is based on relations, inter-personal flow, energy exchanges, communal feedback, sensitive responses and other fluid movements within a stable field.
The first division is the point of proof from an overviewing and integrating thoughtful command of the situation in response to the enemy’s shifting plans and strikes.
The remaining nine divisions are concerned with practical measures that implement the first division’s directions. These are discussed each in their turn while remaining relational to the whole army.
In summary to this brief introduction, I, as willing participant, think love. I think about love in all her possible and impossible (apparently) challenges and calls. As always I remember that love is a gift whether in the form of an army in armor or of the same members in the amour of love-making.
Making war when for a just cause is the same as making love without any cause at all except for its own self-giving. The same warrior removes her or his armor when the time comes for amour in bed rather than steel on a battlefield.
In future sessions we will enter into the theory and practice of the remaining nine divisions. It is fitting that we hold them in a vineyard cafe for after all war is over love. The time is short. Carpe diem.
I’ll take a breather from hitting lead-off or clean up. Other bats have come alive, throughout the whole line up. Time for me to limp away for a while. I can’t steal any bases or throw anyone out at home. My arm is shot, my knees are sore.
All I can do is scout new talent, and try to learn a few new tricks of the trade.
Oh, by the way, baseball was invented by masons:
Home Base is at the center of the inside of builder’s square 90 degree angle, with the two straight edges going out from there tracing the first base and third base foul lines.
The base paths for first to third are then traced by the compass, the otehr most symbolic builder’s tool..
9 fielders take the field of Base Consciousness (remember, 9 goes nowhere, just like a troll’s ego).
The pitcher throws an egg symbol (Sacred Feminine) at the an offensive player wielding a phallic symbol (Sacred Masculine) and they see how many runs (sons?) they can or cannot produce.
Easy peasy, once you learn the language.
Enough word play and spiritual foreplay.
I call this coffee cup (cup= chalice= equilateral triangle with one angle pointing down, forming a cup, chalice or receptacle = symbol of the Sacred Feminine) cafe.
Cafe La Deesse in French, the Goddess Cafe (accent on first e)
Here’s one to assist St Dennis, who is on a spiritual roll, gathering steam of which I can only dream! An Army of Holy Angels.
“I looked over Jordan, and what did I see?
A band of angels, coming after me! (Comin’ for to carry me Home!)
Carpe Diem! Seize the day………..https://youtu.be/vi0Lbjs5ECI
Time is the real currency, not to be wasted.
Just finishing my walking through the sea side I sat on a bank to get some sun and saw three girls, just teenagers, throwing stones in the calm waters to make waves, taking advantage of the low tide. Seen from backwards, both of them could be taken for more older girls, only one of them still remained with a child figure.
I do not know why, perhaps because this week I am feeling very tired and a bit sad because of Mom´s health but, when they realized that I was watching pleased and smiled to me, I had a huge desire to shout them -not to be hurry to grow, seize the last years of childhood!
They seemed so happy and carefree….
@ elsi
You painted a lovely scene, wrote touching poetry and played wonderful music. A hymn to life. Thanks
ME
Indeed, as ME pointed out, your description is like a painting, i can even see the colors and nuances in the style of Velasquez, with the girls playing on the beach in the warm light of the Sun, and in the background the blue and green of the Sea.Then you, sitting lonely on the bench with your Mom in your mind, breathing deep into the breeze. Lovely and romantic, many thanks elsi.
Hi,Bro Anon and Dennis,
If my smell is good, I can feel some sadness in your mind Bro.Yesterday, here in Europe, took place the European Song Contest (is there an entire article in this vineyard) and reading it – cause I don’t watch it any more for long time – I found a lot of painful comments regarding Russia’s slap on the face. That made me to write the above poem (above Dennis’s comment). The title would be : Mother Russia and the Contest – but I forget to put the title. I know guys, you have no information regarding this but never mind, you lose nothing.Another part is that our European “partners” in Love, here in this Vineyard, haven’t realized it yet. So, my dear friends, the struggle goes on like the love. Where is that cohort of Angels, Dennis ? I think we have to work very hard on it if, and that is an IF, there is some interest on behalf of others. Of course, I understand, if somebody is engaged in black or white or even both, he cannot see the other colors in our communal space – it’s not communal sex yet but it leads there – as you Dennis use to say. Let’s hope that on that garden we’ll be not just us three, who scared the West and the cows, but will join us others – and not just bulls. Then what is a Feast without a smile ?
I beg you both, Dennis, Bro Anon
Don’t let me lonely, facing the cannon
We might be hurt, who cares for us ?
It’s nine past elf who makes the buzz
When I wrote “nine past elf” that means nine-eleven – the sign of the Beast (2001.09.11)
“Arma virunquem cano” – Of arms and men I sing…
The immortal first words of Aeneid are worthy beginning of a poem I would write, if I had the talent, dedicated to a patron of Chez Saker whose indefatigable fighting spirit and devotion the cause of liberation of men from mice places him as an exemplary model for most of us humble foot-soldiers.
It is most remarkable that he is American – and here I refrain, with respect and deference, from using a pejorative epithet as I’m prone to – and that should double our admiration for the man because he has risen above the phoney patriotism the Empire instills on its children from the cradle to the grave, and the residual pull of belonging to family, community and country, loyalty and sense of duty to one’s kin. It takes great courage to be an anti-“America” American.
Somewhere else in this blog it was mentioned the pain Rudyard Kipling went through from the death of his son in WWI, whom he spurred on to join the carnage. There were many similar instances of that misguided sense of duty – just read the poetry of Sassoon and Owen – and the resulting inner conflict of moral duty and conscience against the demands of loyalty.
I have notice his enthusiasm and selfless gusto he puts into the fight against the Anglozion Empire; the zeal he displays in the defence of our lines, always ready to bring succour to the lesser endowed and repair the breaches on our bastion by the Empire’s trolls – a protective mother hen (Goddess?) caring for her chicks, even if most are burly men with a foot in the grave.
And, of course, his talent, wisdom and knowledge, which he is never shy of displaying, to our amusement and enjoyment. By the most fortuitous coincidence (or are there other Powers moving our inner thoughts and emotions?) Dennis – whose standing rivals just one – brought Virgil to the Cafe when I was labouring over a fitting tribute and ‘imposed’ on me that I should shape it in heroic verse and here is my very modest attempt, with apologies for failing to rise to the occasion.
The arms and minds gather in Cafe Saker
Seeking refuge and brotherhood against the Empire,
Armed with faith in Man and his Maker.
In fights high in ideals, low in deadly fire,
With poetic salvos and love arrows.
Like the heroes of yore by Mars fired
They throw learned barbs and lyrical blows
On orders from Venus, by Muses inspired.
Pen in a hand, sword in the other, BroAnon
Rises above all to destroy the Hegemon.
Kim
PS – The prodigal son is back and asks forgiveness. Mea culpa to come later.
Wonderful Kim, I really enjoyed it, and welcome back into the Cafe. I am happy to see you here again, mostly because Bro Anon needs you now to give him a back-up. ” The Love is going all the way “- used to be his famous words – and I will remember that. I am well aware that my English knowledge will never be equal with yours (Bro Anon, Dennis, Kim and others) but I’m doing my best, as long as I’m not put in rest. I grew up in a country where three languages were spoken – other than English. The Cafe, by the way, is the very place where poets, philosophers, artists of all kind, musicians – and why not – revolutionary thinkers, have met together. I was a teacher (not as Margaret of England), now retired but not tired (just sometimes).
@ ioan
Thanks for your welcoming words. Don’t deprecate (Bro would say: “don’t pooh-pooh”) your English; it’s amazingly good for a non-native speaker and much better than most (!). You are bold and self-confident, great qualities for great task As I used to say to my ESL students: English is deceptively easy to learn but very hard to command. German, French, Italian, etc. (don’t know about the Slavic family) are more rule-oriented languages (there is a more clear-cut difference between right and wrong) while English is crammed with exceptions, colloquialisms and idioms, as you know. Chaotic but fun too. Cheers
I am humbled by your better verse, I just deleted 8 long lines. I thought they were pretty good, maybe even inspired, but they were so verbose, so wordy, not enough dichter, not enough terse.
Tight dense lines, rich and thick
Are no facile, easy layman’s trick.
Sometimes it just flows and flows,
With easy and magical repose.
But tonight I have a certain deadline, for Dennis, so I’d better switch to prose!
Kim, let’s catch up on what arose for you, True Care Goddess willing, in the next cafe!
Here is an example of why the State of Syria is just fine these days so no need for anyone to post panic or report rumors in this Cafe:

Just in case this video has passed unnoticed by you in the War News 14/05/2016 sitrep by South Front, I am going to repost it here for all of you to know, because it contains very important information:
“¿White Helmets and NGOs? Or Al-Qaeda with a facelift?” MUST SEE!

“White Helmets” false “humanitarian” group exposed as a support group of Al Qaeda led by a British military and funded by the US Government.
Say no to the nomination for Nobel Peace Prize for al Qaeda / White Helmets!
wow! not that we had not realized the lack of objectivity they shamelessly always showed, but the video makes it indisputable…strongly reminds me on OSCE in Ukraine…
This has been a memorable cafe. I’ll not forget that cafe cup Paris. Even the script was poignant.
I am touched by the level of excellence behind my screen. How strange to touch through a screen and keyboard.
Bro Anon, I sensed something different. I hope you’re not holding back. If you can’t take the heat (I’m sure you can) jump into the fire. ioan, Elsi and a hundred others will snatch you out with nary a blister. Your last comment was a keeper and your link to the dead and living poets is a sleeper.
It’s gonna get rougher. Yesterday I was so depressed and anxious that I resolved to quit. I had troublesome dreams. Yet, this morning I was back in the game. The enemy seeks out our weakest spots in our vulnerable moments. I’m always on a roller-coaster, hanging on for dear life. Yesterday, I was totally convinced that I’m crazy. Today the bottom just looks hazy.
My judgments are almost always wrong while my true enjoyments are almost always there when I need them. Just today the person I judged harshly came to my aid voluntarily. I think because I relaxed my competitiveness and softly was cooperative with his ideas and desires.
I have strong ideas and feelings about things, archpatriarch that I am; and I need to learn to present them in a way that is pleasurable even in conflict. Let it flow like a saker on vineyard wings. Who was it that pointed out the wings behind the Russian visioner-singer; and the blood stained rocks really rocked all the way to vineyard valley. (I’m in the wake of ioan)
“One more cup of coffee for the road
One more cup of coffee ‘fore I go
To the valley below”
“This situation can only get rougher
Why should we needlessly suffer?
You will understand I’m only a man
Doin’ the best that I can”
I recently saw Yanis Varoufakis in a books and ‘debate’ stream at a large arts festival in the UK. The stream has been sponsored by the Guardian for about the past two years. Hence we had Masha Gessen last year (not in debate of course) and this year Luke Harding is talking about (not debating) the Litvinenko ‘inquiry’. I thought Varoufakis would be interesting. He came on stage to rapturous applause and gave a half-hearted power to the people salute. He then spoke about a variety of topics, some of it a little muddled, I thought. Then questions from the floor. A couple of questions in, someone purporting to be a ‘mere’ shopkeeper asked whether given all the problems in the western economies we shouldn’t be looking east. Varoufakis started off saying Russia was an important country. Then he started talking about growing up under the Greek generals and fascism. Uh-oh I thought, here we go. He launched into an attack on Vladimir Putin, more or less said Russia was a dictatorship, Putin should be charged with war crimes because he ‘killed half the population of Chechnya’, that Georgia was attacked by Russia, that the media is more and more propagandistic (ha ha on a stage sponsored by the Guardian, had to laugh really) and that Putin was killing journalists. I smelt a big Guardian rat here. Maybe a quid pro quo for being given a stage and the opportunity to plug his book. Any thoughts on this man?
That sort of say’s it all about him. If he is saying things like that . We can figure he is another empire supporter. Which means everything we now hear from him can be disregarded. Once these people “come out of the closet” so to speak. They expose themselves as traitors.I had thought the “jury was out” on him. But now the “verdict is in”.
Last week I saw Yanis Varoufakis getting interviewed by a UK joirnalist (lost the bookmark) where he said, Socialism has no future. The moderator asked him “Aren’t you a leftist? How can you say something like this?” Varoufakis replied: “Open your eyes, only capitalism works in todays world”.
What a bastard!
Maybe got Goldman sponsored?
What a damn change some printed paper can make.
@ Martin
Thanks for the info. I know he is being “sponsored” into the public speaking circus. He’s therefore a hired cur for the money men, in other words, a harlot.
Kim
” … a harlot”
He should ride a Harley then.
I saw Yanis Varoufakis
“How can you say something like this ?”
His words seems to have a maker
Like some dirty toilet paper
Yanis comes and goes like comet
Now has landed in the toilet
I was stuck here in the early predawn, unable to sleep, unable to write, until your vitriolic verse made me laugh, ioan.
After my baseball metaphor I laughed for two hours at the absurdity of the “national pastime”, chuckling through 2 hours of piano recitals, including my younger cossack (9) performing a Bach piece for 4 hands with his Russian piano teacher, with visions of the absurdly sexual pitching of an egg toward the batter, and the occult Masonic mockery of the whole spectacle for about 170 years. And I like baseball! I just don’t watch it any more.
What’s that biblical verse, Dennis, about leaving behind childish things?
As a local sports radio talk show host used to proclaim (through oft-repeated recorded clip), “I know 2 things: I know sports, and……..I know sports!”
Now, just how do you think he and his listeners would do on understanding the strategic situation, and not falling into WW III (which they are already in, unbeknownst to them, in a new 21st century novel form, so far…..knock on wood…… only 5% military) through sheer mind-controlled ignorance, infantalism and superficiality???
The 14 year old did his best ever, Larissa, his teacher declaring, “I thought I was hearing a MAN playing (Bach Prelude WTC 1:19, and Chopin Waltz, Op.64 #2)! Which made me laugh and slap him on the shoulder, and say, “So the testosterone is finally doing you some good!”
But then I read concerned comments about me in the cafe, and went to bed not knowing what to say, and pondering this paragraph, after finishing reading The Secret Founding of America—concluding section Freemasonry’s Battle for America:
“Lincoln was inaugurated on 4 March, 1861. When he came to Washington to assume the presidency, General Winfield Scott foiled an attempt by the Knights of the Golden Circle to assassinate him. Lincoln made the mistake of appointing Edwin Stanton, a Freemason, as secretary of war. Stanton would be involved in the second assassination attempt.”
A page later #180, Lincoln Defeats the Freemasonic Central Bank
…..Britain and France, alerted by Rothschilds to the possibility that Lincoln would issue bonds, then sent troops to bring pressure to bear on him: In 1861 Britain sent 8,000 troops to Canada, and French and Spanish troops landed on the coast of Mexico at Veracruz, ostensibly to collect the debts Mexico owed them. On June 10 1863 the French General Elie-Frederic Forey took Mexico City with 30,000 additional troops. He then controlled most of the country and the French imposed on Mexico their choice of ruler: Maximilian, the brother of Emperor Joseph I of Austria. The Confederate offered the states of Louisiana and Texas to Napoleon III if he would send troops against the North.
Lincoln was aware that these troop movements were to press him to create a central bank and he asked Russia for help. Alexander II, Tsar of Russia, gave him his support. HE sent a large fleet to the ports of New York and San Francisco and placed it under Lincoln’s orders.
……………the alliance with Russia worked. Britain and France did not wish to go to war with Russia and withdrew their troops………Lincoln now created bonds with a “banking basis” to be issued in place of greenbacks………..which again was not what the Rothschilds wanted…………
Freemasons Kill Lincoln
….Lincoln was hated by Freemasons………..Edwin Stanton, the Freemason in Lincoln’s Cabinet, was assigned to cover up Masonic involvement in Lincoln’s assassination………..
No, I’m fine Dennis, Ioan, et al. Just building up vitriolic acid to dissolve a few more calcified brains. Not mellowing or retiring yet. Plus, who needs knees and a throwing arm, with the designated hitter rule, in the American League, if you’re 6 ft 5 inches tall and 235 lbs and know how to swing for the fences?? That rule adds years to some careers! Hahaha!
amazing! my 16 yo doughter goes around all day singing and acting as if she were part of the Hamilton crowd! they could definetely use her as a back up for she really knows every role….whatever, the whole Hamilton story and the US so much infected with french masonry, the toxic role of Lafayette and how he’ll be praised as hero and Jefferson almost as a traitor…then I wake up and remember how the complete traces of the celtic coulture dissappeared under the invasor…and how popular it’s become to rewrite history, with help of Hollywood and Broadway
Thanks a lot Bro Anon for this valuable fresh up
It is very clear that, “democracy” from the Black Hitlers point of view, is more about him selecting a foreign nation’s government than any actual will of the people in any given nation. In the nation Ukraine we can clearly see that the Black Hitler’s anti terrorist operation was to ensure the disappearance of millions of ethnic Russian-Ukrainian voters. Whether they were murdered or fled to Russia wasn’t important, it was just important that they they could no longer vote. According to the Rand Corporation memo this was the plan all along to allow the ethnic cleansing of voters to create an entirely new makeup of Ukraine’s government, a government that was totally beholden to America.
As we all know from the Victoria Nuland tapes the Black Hitler had already selected Arseniy Yatsenyuk as his man to run the new fascist Ukraine so any existing elected government that stood in his way had to be removed, along with his most ardent supporters, the people of the Donbass who voted 90% for the government that the Black Hitler threw out in a violent bloody coup. Ethnic cleansing and genocide has been the tool of the Black Hitler since his first days in office, look at Libya, Syria, etc etc etc. If you kill enough voters you can bring any group to power including Nazi’s (Ukraine) and Terrorists (Syria), you just have to be evil enough to do it.
The Black Hitler’s campaign of ethnic cleansing and genocide has directly impacted the balance of power and has allowed a fascist Junta in Kiev to come to power that represents a fraction of the population of Ukraine.
Alright closure for closing day of Cafe La Deesse.
O Captain, My Captain by Walt Whitman, written on the death of Lincoln at the hands of the dark occult controllers of the Empire.
O Captain! My Captain!
O Captain! my Captain! our fearful trip is done,
The ship has weather’d every rack, the prize we sought is won,
The port is near, the bells I hear, the people all exulting,
While follow eyes the steady keel, the vessel grim and daring;
But O heart! heart! heart!
O the bleeding drops of red,
Where on the deck my Captain lies,
Fallen cold and dead.
O Captain! my Captain! rise up and hear the bells;
Rise up—for you the flag is flung—for you the bugle trills,
For you bouquets and ribbon’d wreaths—for you the shores a-crowding,
For you they call, the swaying mass, their eager faces turning;
Here Captain! dear father!
This arm beneath your head!
It is some dream that on the deck,
You’ve fallen cold and dead.
My Captain does not answer, his lips are pale and still,
My father does not feel my arm, he has no pulse nor will,
The ship is anchor’d safe and sound, its voyage closed and done,
From fearful trip the victor ship comes in with object won;
Exult O shores, and ring O bells!
But I with mournful tread,
Walk the deck my Captain lies,
Fallen cold and dead.
And the concluding scene of the movie a few of us have been drawing inspiration from:
https://youtu.be/j64SctPKmqk The Captain Shall Rise Again, in us.
Oh, you took me a rock from my heart, good to hear you again – even virtually – trough the screen.
What you wrote about Lincoln is very interesting, the details you mentioned, are very telling on how the Empire began it’s dirty works on the early stages of US independence and how the history could repeat itself regarding Russia.(that would be a very bad dream if Putin were to be put aside) That call from Lincoln for Russian help could be repeated today ? as we see it, with sorrow, the strings of power from the Empire don’t let that to happen, contrary, they push for containment and war. For now, the hot war is isolated in different places, the economic, political and spiritual war is raging and ravaging. The people – the large majority – don’t feel the danger, as many times before, they accept their fate in the face of fear and self obstruction. They better hate each-other instead of thinking. Good know and feel that are people like you, Dennis, elsi, Peter AU, WizOz, Kim JJ, Uncle Bob, Martin and many other in this Vineyard of The Saker.
And yes,The Captain shall rise again !
“When I was a child, I spake like a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things.” I Corinthians 13:11. KJV.
What is a man? A burning question for our times. At 76 I keep asking myself: what do I want to be when I grow up?
When I was young I thought of the Boston Braves. Ted Williams, Stan Musial, and later Hank Aaron and Eddie Mathews. At twelve in Little League I made the all star team playing shortstop and getting a couple of hits in the Chicago tournament.
But fate blocked my dreams. I flunked out at the next level and went home despondent. From there it was downhill, no matter how hard I dreamed. In high school I was good but not good enough on the sports or dancing floor.
I couldn’t take the competition and so chose a safer course: the priesthood and monastery. But I couldn’t make the grade there either; too much conflict and too little sex.
I tried sex in all its delicious flavors from eighteen minute one night stands to eighteen years of marriage. Again I couldn’t perform or fulfill my dreams. I was a fair parent but not the father needed. Ended up divorced on many levels.
I became a registered nurse but ended up a drug pusher.
I tried a new age religion as initiate and priest for eighteen years but got corrupted out.
Now I’m in limbo, neither child nor man. Sort of like an also ran. The world is run by men of power; I hold my wilted flower. The planet is girded with rings of steel; I wonder what is real.
I stumbled into this vineyard by mistake, a child among the men, a stranger without a friend, a loser on the make. Can it be all pretend?
Paul says he put away childish things. But he was a Jewish denizen plus a Roman citizen. He had contacts in the Roman court and visions of last resort.
All I have is pretentious rhyme that isn’t even mine; I’m just a copycat mime. How can I ever be a man when I don’t even know who I am? How can I ever stop a war on Russia when I’m such a push-over?
Well, I’ve already confessed; no need to confess again. I cling to my poesy childhood because the world of men is just too scary, an unknown graveyard of boogie-men and nightmares.
My Dad was nice but I’ve paid the price of the patriarchal sacrifice by circumcision of my manhood. All I have left is the thought of love, paradoxically given to me by church fathers. “Nemo est qui non amet.” Saint Augustine. No one is who does not love. It’s a childish notion I suppose but without it my case is closed.
Paul spoke of love. There are these three: faith, hope and charity. That Paris cafe cup has a filigree; not one but two. Reminds me of you. Who are you, who came upon me so suddenly, like the priest who came to our house mistakenly when I was fifteen, and brought me to the seminary mysteriously.
It’s coming to the end of the day in this ol’ nowhere cafe. A commenter anonymous put it to me the other day; said I was in the corner in a love fest but he or she preferred to talk with the grown-ups. Truth hurts good. Children should be seen but not heard.
I was booted out of the first blog I joined in my hometown for being childishly boorish. I outed myself from the Roman church. I got the boot from a new age church for speaking out of turn. Now the wheel has taken another turn.
If I speak up here in the pretense of a man, will I suffer the same fate and be escorted to the by now familiar gate. Maybe that’s my fear: to be banished like Eve from her lover’s shrine into a world order where I can never be at home and where I must eternally bear the pangs of childbirth.
Like a filigree, I could go on and on but what’s the use? That’s the question posed by a philosopher of love I’m reading. Or in the words of Eccles, vanity of vanity, all is vanity. The first quest(ion) of love is: does anyone out there love me?
I’ll leave it hanging there in the air like the filigrees on either side of the cafe cup which Anon so lovingly offered on the altar of the goddess like a chalice; and which ioan seconded. Let me end drinking from that cup with a toast: motion passed.
Dear Dennis (DD..daddy..I am silly) Yesterday Bro Anon, now you. What’s the matter ? or is the weather ? California is calling…every day and every morning. We love you and you love us, let’s not waste time for the buzz. It’s your Timex getting still, start up laughing, up the hill ! Eve’s garden is widely open, for you Dennis, not for token. We are here, in the near, waiting for you as a friend, in this sadly world and fear, from beginning till the end.
You may think probably that I am strong, no, everybody has weaknesses. I have also to fight on two fronts : at home and here. At the next Cafe I’ll put some crazy thing (poem) up there.
Have a goood Day and up the hill, and don’t forget the communal way…
We love you, Dennis.
Earth, Wind & Fire – “Be Ever Wonderful” (w/lyrics)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hMcfdD5K9Mg
This wonderful world’s corner is only possible thanks to the immense generosity of the Saker and pretty surely would not be half as fun as it is, if you were not here. Don’t you see we’re all like you? we love and doubt, we make mistakes and try again…
elsi has said it wonderfully with her song
and I look forward to next cafe and next ioan’s poem…
and the next line from all…
this is it…love to balance so much evil…more love…
Since there have been/ there are some people here who tried/ tries to discredit me for declaring myself Communist, trying hard to equate Communism with the deeds of some people in the past and make me guilty of that, and since there are many people in this blog and out there fighting hard for disideologization of the people, I leave you this article by André Vltchek which I suscribe in its totality, in order to make you clear why I am a Communist. Good and honest people on this blog at this point I guess not need to read this article to understand me and other Communists. Those who are not honest and have called me around here of all ( “totalitarian”, “anarchist” “you have problems with authority”….. ), neither really need it, they also know why we are Communists, you will find in the article explained why they try to discredit us.
“Why I am a Communist” by Andre Vltchek
http://www.pravdareport.com/opinion/columnists/14-05-2016/134424-why_communist-0/
(…)” But what does it mean when I say: ‘I’m a Communist?’
Am I a Leninist, a Maoist, or a Trotskyist? Do I subscribe to the Soviet or the Chinese model?
Honestly, I have no idea! Frankly, I don’t care much for those nuances.
A Communist is a fighter against Imperialism and Racism
To me personally, a true Communist is a fighter against imperialism, racism, ‘Western exceptionism’, colonialism and neo-colonialism. He or she is a determined Internationalist, a person who believes in equality and social justice for all people on this Earth.(…)
(…) More than Das Kapital, I was influenced by what I saw in Africa, the Middle East, Asia and Latin America. I saw the entire world, some 160 countries; I lived on all continents. Wherever I went, I witnessed the horrors of ongoing Western plunder of the Planet.(…)
(…) I saw the Empire forcing countries into bestial civil wars; wars sparked so the multi-national companies could comfortably loot. I saw millions of refugees from once proud and wealthy (or from potentially wealthy) countries that were ruined by the West: Congolese refugees, Somali refugees, Libyan and Syrian refugees, refugees from Afghanistan… I saw inhuman conditions in factories that looked like purgatories; I saw monstrous sweatshops, mines, and fields near feudally run villages. I saw hamlets and townships, where the entire population vanished – dead from hunger, diseases, or both.
I also spent days and days listening to shocking testimonies of victims of torture. I spoke to mothers who lost their children, to wives who lost husbands, to husbands whose wives and daughters were raped in front of their eyes.
And the more I saw, the more I witnessed, the more shocking the stories I heard; the more obliged I felt to take sides, to fight for what I believe could be a much better world.(…)
(…) It didn’t bother me how derogatorily the Empire has been in depicting people who are still faithful to their ideals; ready to sacrifice everything, or almost everything, for the struggle against injustice.
I’m not afraid of being ridiculed. But I am terrified of wasting my life if I put selfishness on a pedestal, elevating it above the most essential humanistic values.
I believe that a writer cannot be ‘neutral’ or apolitical. If he is, then he is a coward. Or he is a liar.(…)
(…) And I believe that living and struggling for others is much more fulfilling than living only for one’s own selfish interests and pleasures.(…)
(…)We all make errors and bad decisions: countries, people as well as revolutions.(…)
(…) This is how I think people and countries should live. They should not exchange ideals for trinkets, love for security and advantages, decency for cynical and bloodstained rewards. Patria no se vende, they say in Cuba. Translated loosely: ‘The Fatherland should never be sold’. I also believe that Humanity should never be sold, as well as Love.
And that is why I am a Communist!
Betraying what we – human beings – really are, as well as betraying the poorest of the poor and the most vulnerable among us is, I believe, more frightening than suicide, than death.
A person, a country or a culture that thrives on the suffering of others, is defunct, thoroughly immoral.(…)
(…) Betrayal is the most powerful weapon of the Western Empire – betrayal and oblivion.
The West turns human beings into prostitutes and butlers, and those who refuse, into prisoners, slaves and martyrs.
Indoctrination is well planned. Dreams are poisoned and ideals dragged through dirt. Nothing pure is allowed to survive.(…)
(…) Beauty is replaced with images full of gore. Knowledge is spat on, substituted by primitive pop. Or it is confused with those official-looking diplomas and stamps of approval issued by the indoctrination centers called universities: “Graduated: ready to serve the Empire!” Poetry is gone, from most of bookstores, and from life.(…)
(…) To me, to be a true Communist means this: to be engaged in the constant fight against the incessant rape of human brains, bodies and dignity, against the plunder of resources and nature, against selfishness and consequent intellectual and emotional emptiness.
I don’t care under which flag it is done – red with the hammer and sickle, or red with several yellow stars. I’m fine with either of them, as long as the people holding those banners are honest and concerned with the fate of humanity and our Planet.
And as long as people calling themselves Communists are still able to dream! (…)
(…) Western propagandists tell you: “show us one perfect Communist society!”
I answer: “There is no such society. Human beings, as we have determined, are incapable of creating anything perfect. Fortunately!” Only religious fanatics are aiming at ‘perfection’. Humans would die of boredom in a perfect world.
Revolution, a Communist Revolution, is a journey; it is a process. It is a huge, heroic attempt to build a much better world, using human brains, muscles, hearts, poetry and courage! It is a perpetual process, where people give more than they take, and when there is no sacrifice, only a fulfillment of duty towards humankind.(…)
(…) Maybe in the West, it is too late for such concepts to flourish. Selfishness, cynicism, greed and indifference have been successfully injected into the sub-consciousness of the majority of people. Perhaps that is why, despite all those material and social privileges, the inhabitants of Europe and North America (but also of Japan) appear to be so depressed and gloomy. They live only for themselves, at the expense of others. They want more and more material goods and more and more privileges.
They have lost the ability to define their own condition, but probably, deep inside, they feel emptiness, intuitively sensing that something is terribly wrong.
And that’s why they hate Communism. That’s why they stick to self-righteous lies, deceptions and dogmas delivered to them by the regime’s propaganda. If Communists were right, then they would be wrong. And they suspect that they may be wrong. Communism is their bad conscience, and it brings fear that the bubble of lies could one day get exposed.
Most people in the West, even those who claim that they belong to the Left, want Communism to go away. They want to smear it, cover it with filth; bring it ‘to their level’. They want to muzzle it. They are desperately trying to convince themselves that Communism is wrong. Otherwise, the responsibility for the hundreds of millions of lost lies would haunt them incessantly. Otherwise, they would have to hear and maybe even accept that the privileges of Europeans and North Americans are constructed on dreadful crimes against humanity! Otherwise, they would be forced to, on moral grounds, dismantle those privileges (something truly unthinkable, given the mindset of Western culture).(…)
(…) Western imperialist logic is simple: “If we rape and loot, it is because if we don’t, others would! Everybody is the same. It cannot be helped. What we do is essential to human nature.”
It is not. It is rubbish. I have seen people behaving better, much better than that, almost everywhere outside the Western world and its colonies. Even when they manage to slip away from their torturers and jailers – the Empire – for only a few years, they behave much better. But usually they are not allowed to slip away for too long: the Empire hits powerfully against those who dare to dream about freedom. It arranges coups against rebellious governments, destabilizes economies, supports the ‘opposition’, or directly invades.
It is absolutely clear to anyone who is still able and willing to see, that if the criminal Western Empire collapses, human beings would want to, they’d be capable of building great egalitarian and compassionate societies.
I believe that this is not the end. People are waking up from indoctrination, from stupor.
New, powerful anti-imperialist alliances are being forged. The year 2016 is not 1996 when there seemed to be almost no hopes left.
The war is waged, the war for the survival of humankind.
It is not a classical war of bullets and missiles. It is a war of nerves and ideals, dreams and information.
Before passing away, the great Uruguayan writer and revolutionary, Eduardo Galeano, told me: “Soon the time will come, and the world will erect old banners again!”
It is happening now! In Latin America, Africa and Asia, in almost all parts of the former Soviet Union and in China, people are demanding more Communism, not less. They don’t always call Communism by its name, but they are crying for its essence: freedom and solidarity, passion, fervor, courage to change the world, equality, justice and internationalism.
I have no doubt that we will win. But I also suspect that before we do, the Empire will bathe entire continents in blood. Desire of Westerners to rule and to control is pathological. They are ready to murder millions of those who are unwilling to fall on their knees. They already murdered hundreds of millions, throughout the centuries. And they will sacrifice millions more.
But this time, they will be stopped.
I believe it, and shoulder-to-shoulder with others, I am working day and night to make it happen.
Because it is my duty…
Because I’m a Communist”
thank you Elsi.
@ elsi
And that tells the whole story of why many, perhaps most, of us are communist, if not ‘officially’, at heart.
Back in the early 1980s, one of the subjects I was studying was Politics. We were given a free-choice group assignment and my group decided to do a survey about people’s political views from a questionnaire based on the fundamental principles of communism. The questionnaire was vetted by the lecturer to avoid bias and we chose a very representative cross-section of people but avoided students because they were mostly leftists; we went to pubs and clubs (working class mostly), sports grounds, churches, shopping centres, roamed the central business district of the city (3 million), etc.
Guess what? An amazing 80-odd per cent of respondents were communist! An eye-opener.
Kim
Comrade elsi,
you are fighting and striving for good things. For the Best things!
Don’t listen to those who are never getting tired of attempting to discredit You/me/Communism because they are afraid of Communism (as they [or at least their sponsors]) know more than good enough, how correct we are.
They are getting increasingly desparate, because the entire planet is meanwhile aware of their endless fraud, theft and lies.
elsi,
Thanks for sharing such a powerful writing of Andre Vltchek.
Speaking from a different angle, I always felt that Marxists (and Communists who are true to Marx’s ideas) are the real patriots who will stand for truth-humanity-justice … Marx’s ideas are absolutely opposite to imperialism, colonialism, capitalism, elitism as well as those act as guard against ecological plunder of mother earth.
” Since there have been/ there are some people here who tried/ tries to discredit me for declaring myself Communist, trying hard to equate Communism with the deeds of some people in the past and make me guilty of that, and since there are many people in this blog and out there fighting hard for disideologization of the people ” >>
“Disideologization” is nothing but a particular method of ‘mind control’ deployed by the AZ cabal ever since the dawn of 20th century (in USA) – now, across the globe almost all educated, intelligent, knowledgeable peoples are continuously brainwashed by the AZ owned media and academic institutions that ideology is non-sense and only serving the corporates make sense.
There is no discredit in being a follower of true Communism because ‘only the one who serves mankind, serves God’… a true Communist serves the mankind with empathy and love. And, you should continue your fight for spreading true ideology that will free the mankind from the slavery of evil AZ cabal.
Bravo, elsi. Great post.
Before we leave this Paris cafe to rest beside the previous Hemingway salon, I must thank you all, and at the end thank especially the last two offerings from ioan and Elsi.
As ioan mentioned, I believe in commonality, even to communal sex which we had and lost in the fall of men.
Elsi posted Andrew’s paeon (rhymes with iaon I’m guessing) on communism. I support that but do not use that term. I guess what comes closest to what I like is communalism.
The model for that is the love culture of our origins, say 100,000 years ago; and more recently the early Christians holding everything in common (except for sex, obviously and patriarchally).
According to my Timex, time is of the essence and is getting short. Thanks again. I’ve got to water some plants and then go to a love feast of another color.

@ Martin
It is well-known that the biggest US corporations (Ford, Du Pont, GMC, banks, etc.) made massive investments in Germany in support of the Nazis, from which resulted the amazing German “miracle” economic recovery in the 1930s. This was repeated again under the Marshall plan, and again to confront the USSR and the danger of communism to the elites.
While Germany made its “miracles’ by massive capitalist investment from abroad, the USSR made its miracle economic development from the hard work of the Soviet people, and in spite of permanent boycotts and economic aggression by the capitalists. Perhaps a lesson to the Russia of today.

A Little Story and a Mea Culpa
I am back, among the soul-brothers (and some sisters) tilling the hard stony ground for a revolutionary cropt capable of facing the hegemonic evil taking over the world, with the hope that many younger visitors to the blog will carry on the struggle for a decent, caring-and-sharing future for themselves and their children, which is the raison d’etre of this community, I belive.
I feel I owe you an explanation for my short absence from thefrontline because some kind contributors expressed concern and even comforting words, perhaps suspecting that my sulking on a corner of Cafe Saker was a retreat from being ‘exposed’ following Bro Anon’s public ‘denounciation’ compounded by a state of dejection for the loss in cyberspace of a substantial post. Or, perhaps, being a victim of a rendition by the omnipotent and omnipresent CIA and taken away into a black-hole, as I had hinted by “the knock on the door by a man from the cia local branch” in my poor attempt at matching Bro Anon’s lyricism.
What actually happened was that after sulking for a while at Chez Saker, I went to do some gardening ( I pride myself of being almost food self-sufficient and tinkering to get off-grid power independence too) and my probing gloved hand under a rock found a nest of ants. Suddenly there was a blinding-sharp pain and when I promtply retrieved my hand there was an ant, still doubling itself to inject more venom in my middle finger. I have been stung by bees and other nasties but this ant takes the cake: the pain is very intense (I screamed!), the finger swelled and became very sensitive to the touch or movement, hence the hand becomes useless until the body removes the toxin.
To me it was a novel experience and a lesson not to poke around in nooks and crevices. Now, here’s a little riddle for youall: name the ant species. Some of the Cafe Saker habitues, who have an advantage (at least two I know of) should, please, disqualify themselves from the contest. The prize – I shall give something away (no lewd comments please, I’m an old bloke!).
Since my disability prevented me from doing any manual work (even typing is quite a challenge) I decided to go ‘walk about’, a quaint expression with a specific meaning, which I often do when down in the dumps. To be alone with Nature is being in a state of grace and reverence to the real Creator, perhaps the same entity Bro Anon calls Goddess, Dennis Love, without the mysticism of another world beyond here and now, but with the mystique and enchantement of spiritual uplifting, yet real to the senses, heart, mind and soul. Something to fight for, for our children and theirs.
Anyway, I knew the bastion Café Saker was held in capable hands and the absence of my humble contributions would be hardly missed: Bro Anon mystifying the clientelle with his ‘out of this world’ escapades (don’t be so keen to leave the fight to us, you are needed here now, Goddesslessly even, both feet on the ground!) and mesmerizing all and sundry with his intellectual ecleticism; Dennis overwhelming his audience with his message of Love for everything, foe and friend alike, firstly espoused by that revoutionary in the land now occupied and desecrated by evil Zion; Straight Bat with his non-nonsensical forthrightness; the twin Uncle Bobs with their distinct urgings of men of action in a hurry with aversion to beating around the bush; Ioan coming to the fore with talent and verve; Martin and his unbreakable loyalty to a dream of true fraternity; and the many others of heterogeneous tastes and leanings (my apologies for not naming everyone) who make this cafe a congenial meeting place and potential revolutionary cell helping to keep the world a safe place for future generations to go “walk about”. Many a revolution was “cooked” in a cafe!
Kim
Welcome back to the café, Kim.
Hope you have now recovered fully, and ready to plunge into the struggle once again.
Waitress,
two cups of strong coffee please !
Kim, I don’t recall any denunciation made by me except to KK9T (Klearly K-9 Troll). Oh, I poked fun a few times and wondered why the Divine Message reserved for you alone was silently scorned by the most ardent seeker who dropped mysteriously out of sight.
But I’m not severely bothered by the unknown. It will ever thus be so. How little, how very little we know! (Lauren Bacall, back a Cafe or ten….)
An army of ants! A wasp sting on my left hand was the worst I have ever seen.
I just hope you caught up on most of what you inspired me to go a bit further than I thought I might. If not I can email you, as I made a list of many of the links. But if caught up, please tell Dennis to laugh off the Bullhorn guys: /crosstalk-bullhorns-raging/comment-page-1/#comment-237950
People hope or expect others to not be that different from what they are, and can get a bit huffy about it, even cruel.
I searched all night for my copy of Alexander Pope’s Answer to Critics, but it is misplaced 745 lines of every imaginable perspective on their foibles and vices, poor analysis and worse advices. It’ll turn up.
Meanwhile Keats will have to do: Alas, I can’t find his verses to a critic either.
Well, then Dunbar, to the Defense of Dennis:
To a Captious Critic
Dear critic, who my lightness so deplores,
Would I might study to be prince of bores,
Right wisely would I rule that dull estate–
But, sir, I may not, till you abdicate.
Well guys,I really enjoyed this discussion on today’s Cafe, with setbacks and revivals, with poems and prose of all kind, with political attitudes and multitudes and music of beauties. Just love it.
PS. Bro Anon, I will hire you as a lawyer.
Well thank you iaon but I must decline
The role of legal gunman for hire.
For a mob’s a-forming, the lynching kind,
To hang all whose name ends with “Esquire”.
See what I mean?:
Henry The Sixth, Part 2 Act 4, scene 2, 71–78
All: God save your majesty!
Cade: I thank you, good people—there shall be no money;
all shall eat and drink on my score, and I will apparel them
all in one livery, that they may agree like brothers, and
worship me their lord.
Dick: The first thing we do, let’s kill all the lawyers.
Cade: Nay, that I mean to do.
(Dick the butcher, a character no one remembers, utters one of the few memorable lines from the entire three-part Henry the Sixth cycle. Dick’s Utopian idea to kill all England’s lawyers is his addition to the promises of the traitorous Jack Cade, who envisions a quasi-communistic social revolution, with himself installed as autocrat. Cade alleges that all lawyers do is shuffle parchments back and forth in a systematic attempt to ruin the common people. His demagoguery is simply a calculated appeal to simple folks’ longing to be left alone. Yet one may recognize Cade’s moral failings and still sympathize with Dick.)
I cannot leave this memorable Paris cup cafe without expressing my deep gratitude to the lovers, rebels and revolutionaries here. I refer to all of you but I must name names too.
Bro Anon, designated hitter or not, thanks for your O Captain, My Captain by Walt Whitman. It brings back memories of reading him in a house empty of all but a chair and a lamp, in the black days when we lost our home due to my naivety and the corruption of agents and courts. I did read comment 237950 and much appreciated it.
ioan, thanks for your loving support. Your name intrigues me as names do. Still not sure of the gender. As others have observed, not without annoyance, that I have sex on my mind inordinately which will be proven or not in the eventual event.
elsi, Earth, Wind and Fire is wonderful as you must be for wondering about the wonderful.
Vercia V, more love indeed. You revealed the meaning of your name which is delightful and wondrous.
Finally, Anonymous Kim, I am captivated by your name, Anonymous at the top and Kim as signature. In English, Kim is ordinarily a feminine name but you may not be ordinary. In other languages, Kim may be masculine. Intended or not, you signify the preeminence of sex.
I am also fascinated by your precognition. I believe it was you who warned about me being competition to the Saker. I would rather frame it as cooperation since that is my intention; but I must confess that patriarchy has bred me as a closet competitor. If so, I compete to see who can best “stop the empire’s war on Russia.”
It’s dangerous to name names because in naming we are framing, and not only does it neglect all other names, breeding envy but it makes the political personal. I believe that the political is ultimately personal but persons are not objects and can react in free ways which can be dangerous in an unfree society.
As for me, I am personal to a fault, at least here in the safe zone, using my given name which came with my flesh and blood, and sharing freely within the parameters established here.
Last but not least, I welcomed the thought that revolutions often begin in cafes. I have my own and you have yours. Where two or more converge, there is love. I am not over-powering but powering-with, at least that is my intention. Love and more love.
Well, since i have numbers on the brain
(99 comments simply would not do…)
And we’re past a hundred, once a-gain
I’ll add another, and shoot for one o two!
99 is one short of a century 9+9 = 18 1+8 = 9 ….and since we’re not playing baseball but making fun of that childish Masonic game (don’t get me started guys…it has only symbols and forms, no words like the Holy Bible—– a whole extended mathematical proof, the Good Book is…………. except for a most boring and convoluted Baseball Rule Book…. trust me, the National Pastime is occult mockery at its finest, with numbers everywhere you look….don’t get me started, I won’t get anything done if all I do is laugh all the live-long day!
This is not the bully pulpit for bullhorn buddies demanding “decent” decorum, It’s the Moveable Feast Cafe at Closing Time as another opens on the other side of the world.
Besides Correspondence (as above, so below, etc, etc) Gender (I think we covered that one…in reality there are only 2 that reign supreme) one more for today is Polarity! And we’re all for that except the Vineyard Dog, from Cafe to Bully Bullhorn Pulpit, we vote 100 to 1 (I took a poll….) for multi (that means at least 2 poles, maybe more!) and never, ever, ever just ONE.
So, polarity, by all means must exist.
Don’t doubt me, please get over it!
Demand Dennis cease and desist?
Ten more will rise and say the opposite!
For without the fascinating opposite sex
There’s only narcissistic masturbation!
One and only one shape below our decks
Will never populate a region or a nation.
There, that was a filiibuster to an empty cafe, all chairs are on the tables, upside down.
But I got it to One O Two (= 3, and that’s divine), somebody has to it, or or Cafe Deesse would end up 9, or worse, 101 = 2 duality, division “one short” of inspiration, 2out of 3 or.666
Hellfire Cafe??? Hell no! Someone has to clean up after hours. So I’ll volunteer.
“Who Loves Ya, Baby?” (my question to La Diosa, Rodina, The Statue of Liberty, Lady Diana, Sacred Mother of Horus …that where “hour” comes from…..and all her other representatives, For Those Who Care!) Well I guess I do! Fancy that! But the little Horus is very late, so I/m outta here! Oh, what’s this??? The tele is on! Old reruns of Kojak! “Who Loves ya, Baby?”
Now there’s a question Dennis could ask the bully bullhorn boys!
I think I’ll leave the tele on. Take it away, Telly Savalas:
https://youtu.be/e50KIEfj7cc
Bro Anon’s post is so fitting to close this Cafe. But I wanted to toss in my two cents worth. On the subject of Dennis. :-) I appreciate your posts, and there can be such beauty and sensitivity captured in your words at times, that it makes it difficult to hear you speak so bluntly at other times. It seems out of sync, as I read it.
I attribute this to a strong American liberalism bias in your writing, Dennis, in my opinion. In this episode of Crosstalk, Mercouris refered to “Liberal universalism”, I think he called it. To me, as an outsider, it’s that classic California social movement perspective. It is a culture which many people feel most comfortable or at home in, and I respect that. I believe there is a sincerity and well-intentioned philosophy behind it, and I respect that too. It is foreign to me though.
As a non-American, it sometimes seems that while the rest of us deal with individual opinions or plurality, Americans deal in absolutes. The universal truths. Which apply across the board, to everybody, in every situation. This seems to be the format provided for debates and discussion there. So for me, I think I react to this cultural bias, which may accurately reflect the culture you are part of, Dennis. That’s all I have to contribute. :-)
And really, if I can tolerate reading posts from those who are part of a movement that will destroy my country, I’m sure I can tolerate a little ultra liberal Calufornia-ism. From someone who isn’t trying to harm anybody.
