Someone needs to do an article on the upcoming Duma elections. A breakdown on the different political parties in Russia. From the little I know about them there are three “main” ones.United Russia is by far the most important. Its a “catchall” party ,said to be “centrist” but really only “untied” in seeing loyalty to the government as the way to keep office. The Communist Party,on the left, is second. And though it loyally supports the government in Foreign Affairs (even more loyal than some in the governing party) differs with them on internal matters. They actually have ideas on reforming the economy and society. And the Liberal Democratic Party,is on the right (Vladimir Zhirinovsky’s party). They also support the government on Foreign Affairs,and have ideas on economic reforms. But are not as far from the governing party as the Communist Party. I would find it difficult to vote for United Russia if I was a Russian citizen. From what I’ve seen (as I said above) they are a catchall party,only together to keep themselves in office. That seems to be their main concern for Russia ,”how can I keep my job in the Duma.And make money”.Because they are so divided the government is able to keep (buy) their loyalty. They have no ideas and will do what Putin tells them to do (usually,but sometimes that is a problem for him).I doubt he is very happy with them. But figures the trouble reforming them right now would be worse than leaving them as they are.I think they would have felt right at home in the Ukrainian political system. They remind greatly of the old “Party of Regions” in Ukraine.The many other parties in Russia, I know very little about. Most of them seem to be either “pro-West or ultra-nationalist of one type or the other. And have little or no influence in Russia’s political scene.But as I said,I don’t know enough about the politics to give a detailed report on it. Since we are so very concerned with the West’s aggression against Russia.And the fate of the World coming because of that. It would be a good idea for us to know more about the politics of the country.

I saw that. I liked it,and hope he is right. That is one reason I think we should know more about Russian politics and the major players in it.I saw a translated (bad translation,but somewhat readable) interview Zhirinovsky did. In it he chided the West and the Russian 5th column for thinking they’d be better off if Putin was thrown out. He said that hours after that, the, as he said ,”patriotic sections of the military” would move in ,supported by most of the people. And execute and/or imprison the 5th column and their supporters. Then they would give NATO an ultimatum “stay out of our affairs or be nuked”. And they with their supporters in those states would reunite the Slav ex-Soviet states.He said it is only Putin that saves the 5th column from a “new Siberian home”.Now of course everyone knows that Zhirinovsky is the “Trump” of Russia. Who shoots from the hip.But still ,like Trump,he also is know to say what many/most people really think and are too “PC” to utter out loud themselves.
A million Ukrainians are marching from all over the country toward Kiev, they are due to arrive there on July 27. The MSM has not covered this. Has the Saker blog?

TEHRAN (FNA)- Russian Tu-22M3 strategic long-range bombers destroyed a number of militants, a large ISIL camp, ammunition depots and tanks in Syrian on July 12, the Russian Defense Ministry stated.
“As a result of the airstrikes, a large terrorist encampment, three ammunition depots, three tanks, four armored vehicles, eight cars equipped with heavy machine guns as well as a large number of terrorists were destroyed,” the statement read, Sputnik reported.
The report on RT pointed out that Russia had informed the US led coalition in advance.
Given that we know the US and several of these allied countries are in cahoots with ISIS, either directly or indirectly, how effective can these strkes be?
Because we have to assume that they are being tipped off.
This ain’t the same as B-17’s dropping ‘dumb’ bombs from 15,000 feet and doing good to hit a city. In the modern era, think of them as launching platforms for smart weapons. From there they are guided to targets, perhaps by GPS, perhaps by laser designators, or something like that. In modern combat, its not that unusual for a plane to launch a ‘smart’ weapon from many km away from the target.
I grow more and more tired of war, and the very idea of it. It’s probably the most pervasive idea of our culture, if all its hidden ramifications are considered. It drives our economy and drives out most other subjects.
Except one. Love. Again, if we take into account the hidden derivatives of love, both positive and negative, and all its diverse manifestations, it rivals war in intensity and importance.

It seems like they’re trying to provoke Iran to respond and then the-war-is-on. The official reason for the invasion will be human rights violations and that’s beyond true. Iran is giving them justification.
I think the only way to stop an invasion if for Iran to hold emergency elections to install a government that will serve the people with the announcement that all political, religious, dual citizens, peace activists, etc… will be immediately released. That way, the west can’t use it’s excuse.

If I’m wrong please accept my sincere apologies. I do remember ‘Outsider’ from some weeks ago whom I admired for his contributions to our discussions. Whether you are the same or someone stole your ‘identity’ I don’t know, but I assumed the latter.
Your post, which at first I took at its face value as a genuine statement, left a lingering doubt for several reasons, namely stating the tricks of trade of those ‘in the know’, singling out my name and Straight-Bat with ‘… comrades’ (as if poking fun) and the clincher link to the Tavistock Institute, the main source of the well-known Anon in our mist who uses several different names to propagate his nefarious Satanic doctrines. See, for instance, his reply to a misinformed comment by ‘Isabella’ under the name ‘RayB’ in the article ‘Serbia’s March into NATO’ where he displays the tactics of ingratiating with a target person for proselytising as I noticed on previous occasions, one of them being myself.
I renew my sincere apologies but I hope for your understanding for my error if you are not the one I presumed you were.

Frankly speaking, I like this blog site because everybody is friendly to each other (irrespective of individual ideology), & secondly I felt that The Saker and his team always try to seek truth.
To that effect, I appreciated the long list of bloggers/commenters in this blog site – Dennis at one end of spectrum and Martin at the other end … I miss informative posts from Martin and elsi … Martin broke the mod rules, and hence was blocked, but don’t know why elsi stopped posting here. Even ioan, Babushka in oz, Vercia, mulga substantially reduced their appearance in the blogsite…

I like this blog also for the same reasons as you and many others here. Vercia, elsi have announced a couple of days ago that they are going to holiday, they will come back soon. Babushka is getting better hopefully. I have also my problems but try to stay in touch with the day here, having made some poems in advance, waiting for the proper atmosphere to launch them in this Cafe. Meanwhile the facts in the political life are emerging : Moldova has prohibited the Russian TV channels on her territory, saying that those have served for propaganda against Moldovan people, Hague wants to bring the Donbass atrocities to the court labeling them as “war crimes” committed by both sides. Kerry is again unsatisfied with the Russian intervention in Syria…so, the things are intensifying with regard to Russia.
Outsider, thanks for your advise but I do think that everybody here can see the happenings as they are. At the same time, we shall not have to fall into the paranoia, that would be the end of this blog. I do trust the Saker in this regard. This blog is very good as it is, many opinions can be expressed and everyone has the freedom to read it and answer properly or just skip it. It is not the case for continuous mea-culpa. I have been trying very hard to change my ways, and ever since reading this blog a couple of years ago, I have found some Russian traits (e.g. never issue threats, just act) more effective than North American ways. What would Vladimir Putin do about this?
A cousin and his wife, who are essentially enemies (refused my entry into their house when I lost power in -30C, and “politely” stolen money from me be borrowing a set amount, but then refusing to repay in full,) want to host a large family gathering prior to my brother’s wedding. Most other family members are either enamoured by their charisma, or oblivious to the truth. I have never stolen money from family, and never used drugs, and always tried keeping in touch; but I am still shunned like a drug addict. In essence, most act like typical Americans, being self-centred, materialistc, and all about the image.
*Would Vladimir Putin still walk into the enemy’s den, and talk with his enemies? (Show up to G20 meeting in Australia with elements of the Russian Pacific fleet.) Would Mr Putin show up and use charm and little children to get gifts? Or would Mr Putin simply stay away?

I’m not Russian although I’ve been nurtured since my early teens a good dose of Russian culture through its great writers, particularly my favourite Maxim Gorky, whose early life experiences were very similar to mine. They have exceptionally endearing traits as human beings, but also a darker side ready to pop up in violent form under conditions of unresolved stress – perhaps a common human response familiar to many of us anyway.

Your comment reminded me of a column in the Toronto Star from political analyst, Chantal Hebert. She pointed out that Trudeau’s smooth ride in govt so far did not so much reflect his skill as PM, as it did the lack of effectiveness of the opposition. She said the opposition hadn’t had one good week thus far (this was a few months back).
The opposition should raise these types of concerns, for sure. Make the govt explain themselves more.
I still think much of this Russophobic talk comes from the need for Canada first and foremost to do anything to prevent a confrontation between the US and Russia. Even more so than taking a stand for what’s right, true, honourable. This is a bitter pill to swallow (and it doesn’t gain votes domestically, but who needs votes when it’s nuclear war??)
So while I can listen to Putin speak so directly, honestly, openly… When it’s Trudeau’s turn, sometimes I wonder, what is he saying? Is he talking about this planet? Is this still English? Does this come with a translation? I actually sent an email to Canada’s Ministry of Defense a while back complaining about this(in case they start to think Canadians actually want war!) When the media really went crazy after the govt pulled Canada’s fighter jets, one of Canada’s generals finally addressed the media, and said something like, “I know combat and this is not a bad decision”. That put a stop to the hysteria. Maybe we need something like this again.

The problem was that an ID was able to survive the explosion and be found intact. All this speculation we constantly hear about with ID’s are red-herring’s. There is almost no place in the World that people aren’t required to have some I on them.In the US we certainly carry ID’s. In Russia and Ukraine they do. I suspect the EU is the same.If the truck had blown up and was incinerated.And then they found a shiny undamaged ID,I’d be suspicious.But it wasn’t,the pictures show the truck riddled with bullet holes,but still in existence.
It’s true that the driver would risk failure in his mission without an ID. However, Suppose he was stopped by police and his ID was run. If it was flagged for connection to terrorist groups the driver could have been questioned, delayed or even arrested. Moreover, it the attack was by an actual organized group one would suppose that they would want the ID to be an investigatory dead end. It would be counter-productive to risk exposure of any command structure or “terrorist cell”.
There is a very simple solution to this problem. That is, use a false ID. An organization of even the most rudimentary competence should easily be able to provide one that could stand up to a routine check.
So the mystery is not why any operative in such an operation (including 9/11) would have ID, but that the ID would actually be legitimate.
It might be that he would need his genuine id because of being known and recognisable to local police, hiring the truck ,and in similar cases we have seen where connections have not be known to terrorist orgs and the lone wolf systen seems to use this, eg Batavlan operatives, and police seem unable to escalate the risk asessment from a local operative with some “history” to someone intending a mass attack…….?
In this particular case RT is reporting the Tunisian man was not known as someone connected to extremist groups. They think a “lone-wolf”. But my point wasn’t whether the ID would be real or fake.Just that,finding an ID is not an automatic reason for suspicion of an event. Each crime,whether legitimate or false flagged is different.Finding an undamaged ID in a burned out wreck should certainly be a cause for suspicion. But finding an ID in a relatively undamaged truck doesn’t mean anything in itself.

It’s really encouraging to see the deep understanding of how things are in the world, here in this vineyard. This vineyard is Shakespearean in its holding a mirror to the world, and Dylanesque in its putting those words into hauntingly beautiful music.

As resident Love expert you have never spoken much about Self-Love, however I don’t doubt that you possess it. And that’s good, because it’s not the same as the lower-ordered thing, Ego, that it could be confused with.. And self-love is a healthy requirement for Love’s expansion to other beings and other realities, and is an opposite to narcissism, which inhibits such expansion.
Also, strategically, it must be quickly noted that the enemy command and minions of the Empire, are most fundamentally characterized by self-loathing. So this is a topic that goes very, very deep to the roots of the human condition, and the present global strategic crisis.
So, I find your statement, “we vineyarders will turn this world around” to be quite indicative of the positive, precious and requisite self-love in terms of it being a self-appraisal (both of yourself and ourselves) of infinite or nearly infinite self-worth.
However, your concluding phrase “with a little help from Russia” I take in an ironic, playful sense that I don’t mean to criticize, in this sense: A growing vineyard intention that expanded nearly infinitely (and I don’t doubt that is your true intention…………) could conceivably, theoretically, surpass even the role of Russia in overcoming The Empire. However, what causes me to chuckle and reflect on that concluding sentence of yours with considerable irony and playful spirit is the obvious fact that at this point, our prospects for overcoming evil are overwhelmingly dependent on the stubborn will of Russia, from the top leadership, down to its simplest people. Without Russia, we would almost certainly have lost the fight several years ago. Anyway, that’s my estimation, for what it’s worth.
