The blogs are all dead. Not much happening. Outgoing POTUS still down for a long count after the international martial arts contest…must’ve choked himself too hard…

Happy New Year to everyone ! this year is number one. (2+0+1+7 = 1) With harsh beginning in Istambul, like a hit of a bull :
New Year’s ease
The new year is already here,
With tragedies around the corner
At Bosphorus, as midnight fear.
Old and new, emerge as former,
To give a taste of what will come
Just in case we have forgotten,
Under the barrel of their ugly gun
How deep their minds are rotten.
Shall we wait for the shining sun
When writings are there, on wall ?
But surely, we will get more “fun”
To “keep the balance” of our soul.
Oh, you Heavenly Jerusalem,
I’m not the old Matusalem
To live more hundred years to see
How the world will live, when free !
My thoughts are free and I feel better,
And I can wrote them on this letter
Sending it to you, with inner peace
On new year’s eve, with love and ease.
Ioan, nice. thanks. This year will have its challenges but will flow easier with better solutions soon at hand. Never fear you won’t have to live 100 years!
They will try for Trump but will fail and another of their ugly masks will fall away for all to see.
Happy New Year Dear ioan and t13!
Thank-you ioan for ringing in the New Year with rhyme and, as always, making sure everyone in the cafe is having a good time.
There is clear writing on the wall. Evil is no longer hidden or subtle. Apocalyptic messages read between the lines and reveal this is a cosmic drama. In the eternal script of humanity we are to face the evil within and without. This is our cosmic destiny, and this Truth sets us free from the snares of illusion.
The new born Child of Humanity entered into winter’s dark and cold and immediately had to flee Herod’s atrocities. This star born Child is a seed of love and light planted in earth’s secret heart. Our power of hope in the progressing forces of life and our steadfast decision to protect our True humanity is our leaven. It will lead us to restoration. And we will need great courage to stand against the great deceivers.
I’m working on a poem for stargazers inspired by Internal exile- (a name I also live).
k
I’m waiting for that kinterra ! you contribute always to my mood (and not just to mine) in a positive way, as well as teranam 13 does.
Thanks ioan. A cough has caught me, and it is hard to hear my muse. The poem will wait for their next rendezvous. They meet up once a month as the moon sails through the zodiac visiting all her star family and reporting back to earth with her dream light.

Love and War – Episode 10
Mirror, Mirror, on the Wall
The London banker had returned from Transylvania. The Count was going to play along with the Anglos. The banker was Jewish and Irish, he had to decide which side to support. It was a life and death matter, not to mention the money involved.
He sat at a table in Paddy’s Pub. He liked to get away from the stuffed shirts and stiff suits by relaxing in a working man’s bar. The patrons here were more real and he was a worker himself but in a higher position. Maria brought him a pot of Guinness and gave him an affectionate hug.
“We’ve missed you. Have you been out there saving the world?”
He smiled at her innocent irony. If only she knew the half of it. He squeezed her hand and said, “Where are the boys?”
“They’ll show up. Mark my word.”
Sure enough. Murphy sauntered in, exclaiming in a loud voice, “A round of drinks for everyone. I won at poker.” He had observed that there were only the three of them in the pub at this hour.
Maria, in an equally loud voice, called back, “Save your pennies. The banker beat you to it.”
The banker rose to meet him and endured Murphy’s bear hug.
“You hug like a Russian bear and buy like a Dutchman,” laughed the banker.
“And you embrace like a stiff Brit and pay like a banker. Been up to your old tricks?”, teased Murphy.
“If only he knew,’ thought his friend. Instead he said, “I’ve got more troubles than an Irish pimp at Saint Peter’s.”
Murphy retorted, “What’s wrong? Your wife find out about your shenanigans?”
,
“She’d shillelagh me from here to Donegal if she did,” he cried.
“Saints preserve her. I suspect she’s a fine woman to put up with the likes of you,” Murphy shot back.
The front door opened and Shaughnessy strode in. “Where’s everybody? Have the bankers raised the rates again?” He gave a hearty handshake to the banker and Murphy.
“You’re in a good mood,” replied the banker. “Did you get a loan for a trip to Vegas?”
“I would have but they wouldn’t accept my wife for collateral.”
Murphy piped in, “That’s one Colleen who can see through your blarney.”
“By Saint Patrick’s beard, she’s a Murphy’s Law all by herself,” chuckled the banker.
“By Saint Bridget’s veil, she’s a fine lass to put up with the likes of you,”
Shaughnessy changed the craic. “But why the long face, Winston? Have your stocks gone down?”
“I’ve got to make a decision.” It helped to allude to that which he could not discuss.
“Bet on a winner.” Murphy tried to cheer him up.
“I would if I knew who that was.”
“I heard there’s this Russian saint, Anastasia, who knows the future,” said Shaughnessy in a conspiratorial voice.
“Never heard of her.”
“Check her out on the web. Maybe you can make her a deal.”
The conversation went on for an hour in the same vein and then the men left for home. Maria smiled fondly as she pocketed the tip.
Count Khazar had made a deal. He would leave Trump alone but Putin was fair game.
Churchill decided it was safer to side with the Count. He figured he’d be dead by the time the Anglos turned against the Khazars and their whole Jewish tribe. The Vatican Jesuit played the long game which was to retake Jerusalem and the Holy Land for his Christ Messiah.
The Count had the same goal, only the Messiah would be a Khazar, not an Anglo. The new Romans wanted to rule the world through Christianity. The Khazars intended to install a new King David on the throne of the world.
Lady Love let her hair down for the evening liturgy. She felt the tension in the air. She thought of Bathsheba’s beauty which captured David and of Deliah who cut Samson’s hair. Lady looked into a mirror on the wall and playfully asked, “Who is the fairest of us all?”
The mirror quivered and turned color. A voice from the past echoed, “You are the fairest of them all..” Lady smiled like the Mona Lisa. “Yes,” she thought, “It is a womam’s world. Time to restore it.” Her bare feet stepped lightly on the stairs.
I found a quite humorous article about Trump, here is short taste for it : “But, oh! Emperor Trumparonious came to the suffering in their hour of need and promised them rebirth and rejoicing if they would place their souls in his hands and elevate him to the throne. Those same souls had previously given themselves over to the Obamites, Busholites and to the Queen’s husband, Emperor Billious…” here is the link :

The Germans are indeed ingenious, not so long ago, they invented a method to produce beer out of urine…back then we had a good laugh on that also… thanks for this one, Eimar !
I love German language and culture. Does that mean I am in love with a corpse? Doesn’t Russia have a lot of Muslims? How has Russia been able to avoid such social problems?

Germans are fleeing to Hungary. Are they also moving to Russia?
http://www.focus.de/politik/deutschland/es-zieht-sie-nach-ungarn-besorgte-buerger-auf-der-flucht-vor-den-fluechtlingen_id_5568844.html
Contrary to USSD teaching and the brainwashing undergone by US diplomats, whose cardinal text is still a travel diary written by a post-revolutionary French fop, the Marquis de Custine, Russians are not racists.
Americans, on the other hand, are the chief vectors of Anglo-Zionist fables about race and ethnicity.
“Doesn’t Russia have a lot of Muslims? How has Russia been able to avoid such social problems?
The short answer reads: Russia, in particular within the framework of the USSR, prioritized social development, including industrialization, of its predominantly Muslim regions. That was the approach which made it possible to overcome some very stark contrasts, most notably concerning atheism, alcohol, and gender equality in the sense of girls going to school and economic independence for women.
Compare this to the West’s legacy of endless colonial-imperialist savagery accompanied by racism, exploitation, and immiseration. In Chechnya, Lebanon, Iran, and Syria this lesson has sunk home. As it will in many more places still.
Lumpenkönig, I’ve been wondering about this too. Is there a need to assess the German ethnic groups living in Germany, in the same manner indigenous groups are assessed in other countries? You know, in countries where some indigenous ethnic groups are at risk of disappearing, if these cultures/populations/ways of life are not consciously preserved?
(Indigenous ethnic Germanic people does not equal ‘Nazi’, for those who are confused.)
And is it now a violation of the ‘political correctness’ rules to say that European enthic groups are indigenous to the area commonly referred to as ‘Europe’?
The Muslims in Russia are integrated in the society for many many years, they were born there and they have been part of the Russian history. In comparison, the Muslims in western and central Europe have a much younger history. Only with the mass immigration in the last 20 years has come out as a “problem”. The forced integration policy has put the cake on it, in parallel with the “regime change” policy applied by the west on the Muslim countries. Then followed the “mea culpa” with some hidden agenda and uncontrolled mass influx of refugees. Poor Germans are fleeing ? instead of going to polls and make a good decision, cause is their home.
Ah, ioan, you do have a way with words. I very much appreciate your reply, which I think hits the mark directly in very few words. That’s my impression, anyway (easy for me to have an opinion from a great distance away!!)
Wanted to say a further note of appreciation to the poets, especially in this café, and to Eimar, Kent, and all those extending New Year wishes. It’s nice to be a recipient of your offerings of grace and kindness.
Another quick note to Tony, Isabella, Helen, JJ, Ralph, and all the other Saker contributors from the UK. You all remind me of the really cool things about the UK. We spend so much time on this website focused on the genuinely diabolical Anglo-sphere, it’s easy to forget the rest of the UK story. Or to take time to appreciate the rest of the UK story, anyway.
Appreciate your thoughts….been interesting to learn more of Canada too….thank you.
While I am aware of Tony, Isabella and Helen being from UK, by their comments, I would have never related JJ nor Ralph to that nation, even when a regular reader in this blog.
I am really curious about how is that you get to know it. In fact, Ralph comments are really few here and so do those of JJ, well, the later posted mainly sources on news from Novorossiya ( till he was asked not to do it anymore by Scott ), but I do not recall him talking about personal issues anytime.
JJ has referenced his country when talking of his teaching and Ralph referenced it when posting on how to get aid to the Donbass.
So I suppose you haven’t been here in the past two, two-and-a-half years as you would otherwise be aware.
During Brexit discussions. The commenters from the UK posted their personal experiences (e.g. using a pen, not pencil, to mark their vote), perspectives, and so on.
Yes, I remember “…Brits advised to use their pens, Independent, in their sense…” and so on…for JJ

Eimar, I just came in from doing my early evening barn chores, and saw the same beautiful crescent moon and Venus. I saw it yesterday evening, too, only with the moon on the other side of Venus, and a bit slimmer. I really do enjoy seeing the new crescent moon appearing in the early evening – a new month…
The last few evenings I too have watched the moon sailing across the starry sea in her crescent boat to visit Lady Venus. They are very interested in the human soul and love to speak of matters of the heart. Many poems and songs are born on earth in the flowing wake of these conversings. The moon will continue to tell of it to all the stars she meets along her way as she resumes her monthly journey around the earth, growing brighter and fuller with the sun’s glowing reflection.
When I listen for it, I hear something of their conversation in these compositions.

Dear Eimar, if you don’t mind, I dared to use your beautiful description in a poem for you :
Venus and Eimar
On a beautiful, crisp, dry and cold night,
A crescent moon hangs so low and light,
It seems like you can reach up and touch it
And, by extending your arm, you can get it.
Just to the right, suspended below the vault,
The twinkling Venus is there, bright and cold.
It looks as though she is being slowly towed
Through the heavens by the Moon and hold
As child trails a toy behind her on a string…
In the early, fresh and warmly wind of spring.
Beautiful ioan! I especially delight in this line- “As child trails a toy behind her on a string…”
I enjoyed the poetic collaboration of you and Eimar as well.

They have been playing the Star Wars movies back-to-back on Foxtel these last few days. I have already seen Rogue One three times at the cinema, but my binge session really began the day Carrie Fisher passed away. I know it is a little belated, but her passing was a sad day for me. Since seeing the original at the cinema as a seven-year-old, it has continued to be a strong influence on my life and world-view. Princess/General Organa was one of the first female leaders and action stars in mainstream cinema, she threaded the fine path between youth, strength and femininity with a grace and power few have matched. Thank you Carrie, this scruffy nerf-hearder will miss you always; may the Force be with you.
It was Star Wars that exposed to me the subversive and pervasive thread of Liberation through our modern children stories. Where in the traditional children’s stories the villains are often evil step-mothers and the heroes rich white men, the modern trend is to represent heroes as small people fighting against an evil and illegitimate ruler/system. I sat through the Prequels again last night, wincing and grimacing the whole time mind you, but between my usual blistering invective aimed at George’s pride, I was forced to give him some credit. The Prequels, particularly 2 and 3, were made during the dark days of the Bush presidency. Most artists ran scared when the Patriot Act kicked in, but a few heroes stood up to speak the Truth. The main theme running through the Prequels is the loss of democracy to dictatorship. For all their many faults, George did continue to push his anti-Imperial theme, which has socialised generations to resist. Once day, our children may charge into battle against real stormtroopers, screaming May the Force be with us!
Obi-Wan Kenobi: Anakin, my allegiance is to the Republic, to democracy.
Anakin Skywalker: If you’re not with me, then you’re my enemy. (paraphrasing Bush)
Padmé: [to Bail Organa] So this is how liberty dies… with thunderous applause.
Amidala: What if the democracy we thought we were serving no longer exists, and the Republic has become the very evil we have been fighting to destroy? (a tough truth we have all faced)
And finally, my favourite quote in the whole series, from Carrie Fisher’s mouth:
“The more you tighten your grip, Tarkin, the more star systems will slip through your fingers.”
Yes, indeed, watching those films, reading between the lines, many parallels with the reality can be drawn.
Earthrise,
I had such a different experience of the Star Wars over Christmas! I left Rogue One fuming and sputtering! Just to back up a bit, I saw the first one at a theatre in Santa Cruz with a bunch of high tech guys from the silicon valley when I was at ucsu in my late teens. The whole audience was on their feet cheering and pumping the air with fists at the end.
So fast forward to last Christmas, and I was living in Puerto Vallarta with my two youngest. Its so hard to find a Christmas movie to watch as a family at theirs here in Mexico. I´m quite a critic of mainstream films due to the violence and ideological content. So, we rather enjoyed that one. The kids went twice. It was comforting in a way, familiar plot, same old tropes. and the old original characters brought back. Very formulaic; the heroes being female and black.
So, we went this year and were entertained with a plot about a woman, isolated, incarcerated, without hope or values, released for a `mission´. She finds family in a military squad, meaning in a suicide mission. I´m sorry, is this what we are training our children for? The ideal chick who can fight like a martial arts master? Suicide missions?
I´m not a fan sort, but Carrie´s death hit me hard. Probably in terms of my own mortality, as she was a year younger than I. Oddly enough, I had watched my first Oprah show online featuring her and her mother, Debbie Reynolds only the day previous to her death, and two days previous to her mom´s. What I admired about her journey was the forgiveness and compassion she realised in regards to her difficult childhood, and her courage in facing mental health issues.
She also had a great bit part in the Blues Brothers movie, one of my son´s favourite films.
Maybe I´m overreacting, but propaganda often exploits truisms to slip in subversive subtexts. I´m just thinking about the christmas movies of my past where one didn´t emerge traumatised by hours of explosions, but rather brought to tears at expressions of love and devotion. People take small children to these movies!
Recommend ‘The Legend of Chusen’, a Chinese martial arts drama epic, which is also a philosophical contemplation on good and evil, especially the battle against the desire for personal venegeance.
The formalism of relations between elders and disciples that contrasts with the exuberance and struggle for discipline of youth is virtually non-existent in Western entertainment.
As a bonus, the costumes and scenery are really beautiful.
Cheers Robin,
I left Rogue One fairly ambivalent first time. Star Wars (A New Hope) is my favourite movie, mainly because of the effect it had on this seven-year-old boy, and the whole society around me at the time. So I was always going to like R1, as the prelude to ANH. It does lack a measure of engagement with the characters, but I do applaud them for the finale (the character’s fate). Fair call about the message to our children, but the other side of this is the lesson of sacrifice, of giving to a greater cause. This is the same message Tolkien sends us through Frodo; some things are worth dying for (home/family/freedom).
Being the father of three daughters, I do appreciate all the female leads these days. Earlier it was hard to find stories for my girls with female heroes; Mulan was one, Alice in Wonderland another. The modern female hero though has sacrificed her femininity, which I find disappointing. This is what made Carrie Fisher/Princess Leia so precious, she could balance these forces with grace and humour. I don’t want to see an otherwise male action hero with ovaries, I want to see assertive femininity. Looking forward to seeing how Rey develops into a Jedi Knight, and if she can bring empathic wisdom to the role.
One Star Wars per year for the rest of my life, what a time to be alive!

Dear Mods, only to set the record straight:
My comment was submitted exactly as it appears above. Nothing was removed by a moderator.
It was not, at the time I posted it, a part of any “back and forth food fight” and was intended to “gently” chide Tony for yet another nonsensical ad hominem rant against well over 318 million human beings, a very large majority of whom he does not know and never will. You may notice that I did not respond to that rant “in kind,” and did not insult anyone in any way.
Totally agree that Tony needs to stop treating the blog as if he’s merely ‘thinking aloud.’
No offence Tony, but you should start your own blog if you won’t engage on the spirit of the Vineyard.
That said, glad to hear your wife is on the mend and will no doubt be back dancing soon.
So for her, and all here who love to dance, an Oz classic that is also a brilliant little essay on non-conformity, independence of spirit and, most of all, the spirit of life:
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=BAQWf1dJH3Y
@Eimar,
Would you mind describing “spirit of the Vineyard”?
I say it because, while I agree in that “Tony” is a bit repetitive and sometimes even could bea pain in the neck, one can not deny that he is mostly an “independent spirit”, in harsh contrast with the sycophant chorus of people who, be it whatever The Saker could say, never disagree one iota and run fast to praise him in his, now scarce, performances.
I wonder if, this kinda sectarian behavior on personality cult is what you understand as “spirit of the Vineyard” since all the “independent and non-conformant spirits” here has been conveniently erradicated.
One finds it difficult to agree everytime with, let´s say, the “colourful” variety of ideas The Saker displays on the several issues that could conform the “spirit of life”, and so it looks really strange that a bunch of adults, mainly from their sixties onwards, could disagree so few with him if would not exist a previous agreement…..
Disagree with your ‘analysis’ Steig – you must be new if you think the Saker gets a dutiful ’round of applause’ for his every view.
The ‘spirit of the Vineyard’ can be seen in the banner above – the only ‘unanimity’ is on ‘stop(ping) the empire’s war on Russia.’
Tony got called out because he spends most of his time posting bio, and the same info at that. He would be banned on many politics blogs for what is sailing close-to-the-wind of trolling.
Nevertheless, he seems to be a generally good-hearted guy, so I guess the mods give him some latitude: they draw the line though at some of his posting, like his irrelevant and repetitive obsessions, or ad homs.
I suggest you do some reading through the comments on the blog on a range of topics – you will find a variety of opinion that is far from being an ‘echo-chamber.’
Israel Will No Longer Return Bodies of Hamas Soldiers
https://sputniknews.com/middleeast/201701031049207585-israel-wont-return-bodies/
“Hamas, meanwhile, called the decision “evidence of criminality and barbaric occupation” by Israel through spokesman Fawzi Barhum.
According to its army, Israel returned 102 bodies to Hamas for burial in 2016. Now, any bodies its army captures will be buried immediately, but may be exhumed and returned if Hamas agrees to deals. Israel has in the past buried the bodies of its enemy’s fallen in secret, remote locations.”
One thing not mentioned is those murdered were hidden by the israelis to hide evidence of torture or organ theft. The latter an israeli/Jewish mafia specialty.
Organ harvesting + indignities to dead bodies + Fascist psychological terror.
Stay classy, Israel.

She is doing well – cast off now..she is trying hard to get her ankle slowly right again – and she is walking outside our house again – on her crutches – and she doesn’t like to publicise it.
“She Got Run Over By a Car on Her Way To a Dance Class – on a dark Tuesday”
Her leg is a bit smashed up to fck – but otherwise she’s O.K.
Our Friends and Neighbours are Brilliant.
Thank You (one of them said yesterday – why not just tell ’em it was a skiing accident) – but neither my wife or I will lie. She got run over by a car.
She really is so lovely.
She will be Fine.
I just Love Her so Much.
Happy New Year
Did anyone else see The Moon and Venus making Love Tonight?

That is totally hilarious, Helen.
Who would have thought the FSB could be so subtle?
Remarkable ‘detection’ work by Harding…
Anyone who’s read Harding on the Ukraine knows he’s an MI5 plant.
Amazingly bad at his job, as his propaganda is only read at this point for entertainment value.
If anything, Harding is one of the reasons the Graun is no longer taken seriously as a ‘news’ site, along with the equally crude and propagandist WaPo.
Were these organs good at their disinfo, there would be no need for the draconian censorship laws now being promulgated by the US/EU.
Amazed he’s still picking up a check.

This time around, I would like to pass out a linguistic question. I’ve been feeling frustrated for quite some time due to my failure (thus far) in finding an expression equivalent to the Swedish gem “sönder-amerikaniserat infantilt slödder”, and this issue addresses all main European languages.
Thanks in advance!
Hmmmm. Let’s see. I don’t know Swedish but I will wing it, hoping to provoke someone more philologically qualified to bring more precision to a polemic that appears to have some politically pregnant promise:
“Probing the pathetic poo-poo in pindo politico pampers for proof-positive of pathological, paranoid psychopathy” ????
Hey, it’s a start. Maybe I should have worked in Podestas and pedophilia and Pizza???
What I wish I could do was somehow add some Swedish sing-song to sweeten the sarcasm and smack the sentence shut with a Scandinavian smirk.
“So little time, so much rewarding work.”
Maybe something like :” dumbed childish mob ” or, ” riff-ruff childish nob “
How about ‘dumbed down, infantilised American mob’?
‘Infantilised’ is an interesting word which applies to many phenomena but is now seldom used.
Verb
infantilize (third-person singular simple present infantilizes, present participle infantilizing, simple past and past participle infantilized)
(transitive) To reduce (a person) to the state or status of an infant.
(transitive) To treat (a person) like a child.
The ‘infantilised’ person is both a victim and a perpetrator or carrier of the disease.
Well, the Swedish expression “sönder” here implies “damaged beyond repair”, and that is the most difficult part to translate smoothly as a constituent part of the larger expression. The very essence of the full expression, however, is “Beyond-repair-Americanized, infantilized scum”. Comes across as rather cumbersome; same goes for my attempts at translating it into French, German, and Spanish.
I guess the word ‘sonder’ is sunder in English.
From:
German: Sonder = ‘special'(google translate), or more literally without, set apart.
‘SonderKommando’ They cleaned up the dead bodies and were prisoners themselves in the death-camps.
What about “Special, American, infantilised scum”? ‘Special’ in the sense that Canadian use it to mean ‘retarded, imbecilic’
No, not special. When I use the expression in Swedish, it is a slur against people who are so zombified by their addiction to American garbage that they are beyond redemption, below contempt.
This seems a tough one, Nussiminen, because you want two tasks accomplished in one word, preferably in one of several languages that not everyone knows well. One task is to translate swedish, and especially the swedish word „sönder“, and the second is to make the translation express the idea of „damaged beyond repair“.
Knowing no swedish, but another germanic language, I would still assume that sw „sönder“ is connected to germ „sonder“, which, however, is used not only to designate germ murderers in Sondereinsatzkommandos der SS (sonder=brutal killer, really germ), which equate american „special“ commandos (special=heroic, super, really american)., but (=„sondern“(!)) „-sonder-“ is also part of „absondern“ (produce something, usually filthy), „sich absondern“ (so seclude oneself from all the others, the good ones, apparently “sunder“ in english, as Franz mentioned but failed to explain), thus making oneself a or the bad one, thus a „Sonderling“ (village idiot) like those people mentioned by Stieg L. who snub at „the sycophant chorus of people who … never disagree one iota and run fast to praise“ (their common idol or themselves), as someone put it here some hours ago. So, if „sönder/sonder“ despite Franz and Google does not only mean „special“ in the sense of the US Army recruiting leaflets, but also „so lowly as only vermin“ (making the arrival of an SS Sonder SauberSchrubber-Einheit necessary), then we arrive at your idea of „beyond“ something, e.g. repair or reeducation or Umrassung etc. By the way, „ein Held sonder Tadel“ may be translated as „a hero without anything to be blamed“ (sonder=ohne), but it also means „beyond blamability“ (sonder=jenseits von), and also the word „insonderheit“ means something belonging into the group in question, but more so than all the others, who therefore might as well be excluded again. Thus, slowly we reach the second meaning you wish to see expressed: the completeness of a nothingness.
I am sad to see that on this site you do not wish to say what you want to say first of all in the language of our common idol, Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, namely Russian. Your longing for making a difference between someone being just somehow debile (still able to stop it) and others who are the same thing, debile, but to an irreversable degree, is, in Russian, exemplarily catered for by the institution of the verbal aspects. These can never be mastered by a non-Russian, but you could and should at least aspire to! They can be expressed in various ways (which you don‘t choose but have to learn), and one of the most convincing ways invented by the fathers and mothers of the Russian language is the use of prefixes of verbs. Of them, PRO- is the one I would recommend you to look for. While e.g. spatj means „to sleep“, prospatj s/o or something means to sleep so long that you definitely missed a deadline or alienated someone waiting for your, so that you have definitely lost what you hoped for, and prospatjsja means that a real man who has drunk like a man, sleeps like a man so long that the last percent of a pro(!)mille alcohol is outslept before he gets up again. Hans Holm Bielfeldt wrote in March 1967 in Berlin on p. 725R of his Russisch-Deutsches Wörterbuch that the prefix pro- means (…) „IV. völlige Beendigung, Zuendeführung der Handlung“ and „VI. die völlige Ausfüllung eines best. Zeitraumsdurch die Handlung den ganzen Zeitraum hindurch“, and by extension of both includes the old Greek perfect which meant a present condition arrived at by a past event: „a house has been build“ = „there is a house“ etc. „Propastj“ means „to fall completely“, and a theatre play which „propal“ has brought his author unrecoverable shame – he‘d better propal himself, too, for a while, or try another pen name. I did not find „proamerikanizirovatj” and „prodebilizirovatj“ in Bielfeldt‘s dictionary – without doubt because at that time the great, invincible Soviet Union made any such tendencies deadborn ideas while today fighting them is just as impossible – our unforgettable Martin SEB could explain all this much better than me. My proposal for „scum“ is also missing in Bielfeldt, one of the words one has to know but was not to print at that time: „Proamerikanizirovannyj i prodebilizirovannyj shlamj“, to the best of my memory, or otherwise „proamerikanizirovannaja i prodebilizirovannaja grjazj“.
Unbeknownst to the nations and philologists of Europe, not to speak of the prodebilized German people, the German language has exactly the same system of verbals aspects in itself (the language) – but not in the books about it (the grammar/s), so that on one hand this aspect of the aspects is not understood and not taught, but on the other hand has not to be learnt by anybody. It is completely sufficient to understand what „schlafen“ means and what „durchschlafen“, and to apply this knowledge to other verbs like, for instance „amerikanisieren“ or „debilisieren“: debilisieren happens every day, but once you are durchdebilisiert (and the germ nation is, for decades already), then „jede Hilfe kommt zu spät“, the only help for such a poor thing is a „Notschlachtung“. Please note that in the germ aspect system (that you must never mention under this correct name, lest they‘ll deem you a Sonderling and absondern you from any living being) you are allowed to use more than one prefix for adding a bit of drama. In your case you might consider using „volldurchdebilisiert“ and „volldurchamerikanisiert“. The equivalent of your target word „scum“, the word the common man will understand and use himself, is so shocking that you should not present it to our modz, but „Abschaum“ would e a more erudite version which they might let through.
As for a French version I would expect to hear a „complètement“ somewhere, but I was never introduced into their full Art of Swearing. I guess it exists.
What I do not understand is why a man of high intelligence, which you seem to be, is so eager to find a perfectly damning formula for, uh, scum, as you say, which people of understanding like us will easily and quickly dump where they belong, no matter what epitheta are or are not thrown at them by you or anybody else.
But linguistically your question was interesting: thanks.
I think I understand.
Good, highly acidic vitriol in some rare cases can function like smelling salts to waken a few people out of their unthinking conformity. This can be more caring, ironically, than just ignoring them. Which does nothing.
On my fifth read through this truly masterful response to Nussiminen’s linguistic question, I thought I’d reply. Laughed out loud, spent several hours contemplating the aspects of the aspects (like the dimensions of a crystal – Austrian, perhaps!!), reflecting on what it might have been like living next to the invincible Soviet Union, and marvelling at the germ (to quote) absondern/ Sonderling phenomenon. That is a lifelong study in itself. Danke schön! At risk of saying way too much, I’ll add this: “and the Prussians are recorded in history as noble and aristocratic” – this tells us everything we need to know about the aristocracy and about who writes the official history. I write this while swallowing the feeling of betrayal and guilt, since I posess at least 25% of my DNA directly from Prussian stock, including physical appearance, and some dear loved ones in my family descend from them.
Brutal is brutal, though, family ties or not. And the imperial Germans (my designation) indeed followed a brutal culture. Nurture, not nature, I hope. :-)
A further thought or two —
One lesson from history: the ultra-minority power-wielders have a particular fondness for genocide of ethnic German people. It’s a reliable tonic to soothe any nagging Empire wound.
I take it the ‘free flow’ migration of ‘refugees’, accompanied by indecipherable buffoonery from German politicians (who undeniably have political ability and power) spared us from another round of this?
If so – on behalf of my ancestors (and myself), thank you.
Ye watchers of the silent moon and heavenly stars, watch out, for stranger signs will appear on earth below your your very eyes.
Our daily queen even, praised the workers and doers of the England, cursed Isle of Blighty, in her Christmas speech this year. Having graciously endorsed the silencing of the voice of Those who Matter during the Reign of Thatcher, she may now issue words of hollow saccharine:
“I often draw strength from meeting ordinary people doing extraordinary things . . .”
May she live long, continuing to draw strength from the subjugated masses. They will rise again, striking fear into the heart of the evil-doers. More power to you, I rejoice with every utterance I hear and magnify your words.
I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy loving kindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.
The morning is dawning white over the snow here in Wisconsin. Enjoyed the beautiful descriptions of the moon and Venus, the music, photos and poems which soften the background noise of war unbound. By my Catholic calendar it is the feast of the Holy Name of Jesus. Using sacred names is a practice as old as the hills. Love is the name above all names which even God acknowledges through Saint John: “God is Love.” Yesterday was the feast of Saint Basil who said: “A tree is known by its fruits; a man by his deeds”; and Saint Gregory Nazianzan who said: “We are not for ourselves alone; we are made for the good of all our fellow creatures.” These two commonly honored saints and church fathers ought to unite the Catholic and Orthodox communions.

There are many ways of saying the same thing. Here’s one expression of the contemporary drama and chess game of the ages:
Love and War – Episode 11
The Count dropped the report onto his desk. The Saker had amended his article on the origins of Russia. Khazar already knew about the two Rome’s and the two Russia’s. What interested him was that Putin was a “perfect expression of the New Russia.” It confirmed his own analysis.
Putin was cutting the Count out with his multi-polar fantasy. He was inveigling Trump into his melting pot Russia. The Anglos were behind it all, and the Vatican was behind them. Or so he thought.
The Count thought out loud, “I prefer not to fight on two fronts. Let Trump alone and focus on Putin. God is on our side. When Russia goes south, I’ll deal with the Vatican.”
The Cardinal reported to the Jesuit Pope, “They accepted our offer.”
The Pope took a deep breath and sighed, “God is on our side. We keep Trump as our knight, make a castle move and expose their queen.”
“The knight can jump too,” quipped the Cardinal.
“That’s true but not so far as a castle or quick as a chariot.”
“Either way you win. If Putin prevails, he and Trump take their queen.”
“Countess Zioness, you mean.”
“Exactly. If the Count wins, you checkmate him–that wily King of Khazar.”
“I prefer to kill him,” said the cold Papal voice.
“That would be preferable but you must give the glory to God.”
“The Bishop moves diagonally and asymmetrically.. He will say the Mass and the choir will sing a Te Deum after the Requiem.”
The Cardinal smiled. The Anglo General would appreciate the joke. But the smile faded when the Pope turned pale and clutched his chest. Whatever had happened, it passed as quickly as it came.
The Pope sputtered, “God is on our side. That vampire’s stake will pierce his own heart.”
On the Shannon, Lord Leary felt the power shift. Lady saw the change in his expression. She inquired with concern, “Has the Love Army engaged?”
“Yes, I think so. Seems to be a probing action, an opening move. I’m getting this image of a chessboard.”
“Now that you mention it, I was feeling like a queen.”
“White or black?”
“Neither. Kind of a rosy tan.”
“Good. It’s the Love Army flag.”
“You mean the stripe in the middle.”
“Yes, the middle high ground.”
“Or the secure low ground.”
It was time for the evening celebratory rites. The Love Bower would power the Love Army.
The Count touched the Saker report. He recalled that the saker was a falcon, an ancient iconic phoenix, the fire bird which legend claimed emerged through the auroral North Pole electro-magnetic field to create the first Russians.
Then for some reason he remembered that water quenched fire. He closed his eyes and tried to think but drew a blank except for the image of a river flowing between green hills.
On the Shannon, Lord opened his eyes and felt pleasure at the sight of the river below. It seemed to him that the world was flowing again and what they were doing was part of the action.
Lady saw it too. She put her arm around his waist and whispered, “It’s time.” They ascended the stars.
The music and dancing were already happening. Love made the room go ’round. Time spaced out and space syncopated. Energy pulsated and radiated outwards. The waves climaxed and abated until the universe was sated. Means met their ends. When the players came to, the wind was quiet and still. All that remained was the sound of breath flowing in and out.
The General checked his messages. “Strange,” he thought, “The order should have gone through. Maybe Trump is right. Should have sent it by courier.”
He typed in the secure code and sent the order again. A message popped up in a red box, “Your message is rejected. There is no such address.”
The General hit the intercom and shouted, “Get me a damn courier.” A voice replied that the service was closed at this late hour.
He rested his elbows on the desk and cradled his head, muttering, “Damn those Russian hackers.”
Lord had a sudden impulse to laugh which he did. He had an idea why. Lady Love rolled her eyes with a smile. A clock in the hall chimed midnight.
Excellent tongue-in-cheek counsel from Club Orlov to the ‘Make America Great Again’ Trumpster:
“If Trump doesn’t crack open the chocolate egg that is Saudi Arabia and run off with the toy inside, then somebody else will. Saudi Arabia’s days are numbered. For now, it is still rich in money, oil, sand and imbeciles, but it is burning through the first two faster and faster.”
http://cluborlov.blogspot.ca/2017/01/how-to-make-america-great-again-with.html#more
I especially enjoyed this part
“What makes this project shovel-ready is that Saudi Arabia is a very soft target. First of all, it is stocked with imbeciles. People there marry their first cousins all the time, and after a few generations of such inbreeding one’s IQ can be counted on one’s fingers and toes—if one can still count that high. The Saudi educational system doesn’t help either: it’s focused largely on rote learning of the Koran and related texts, with precisely zero emphasis on critical, independent thinking and the sort of strong-minded rebelliousness that makes countries hard to conquer and control. The economy is almost completely dependent on foreign labor, since the Saudis themselves don’t like to work too much, and this pool of foreign labor can be easily spooked and sent packing. Lastly, the Saudis are miserably weak militarily, as has been shown during their ongoing failure to make any headway in Yemen (besides causing a humanitarian crisis). All of their weapons systems are US-made and can be disabled in short order by cutting off the flow of contractors, consultants and spare parts. (Unlike Russian-made stuff, which can operate autonomously for decades and can usually be fixed with a hammer and a screwdriver, American weaponry tends to be high-touch and finicky.)”
And, the rest of curse.

RusAF Says IAAF Refused to Provide Info on Athletes Featured in McLaren Report
“The IAAF published a report earlier in the day with guidelines for applications for the Russian athletes to participate in international competitions of 2017 as neutral athletes. The IAAF also said it had received about 200 names of Russian athletes by the McLaren investigation team, adding that the evidence will be investigated.
“We requested the information from the IAAF on the matter, but they did not give us a response. They said it was their internal investigation. Therefore today we do not have information on surnames [of athletes],” Shlyakhtin told R-Sport.
On December 9, the WADA independent commission issued the second part of the report on alleged Russian doping abuse, revealing manipulations by athletes in 30 sporting disciplines.”
This whole doping bs is a part of the zionazi/nazi psywar against Russia and mostly horse manure. And where not fabricated smearing, a disgusting example of how zionazi/fascist double standards rule in all aspects of western society now.
It is a given now that these zionazi/Jewish mafia corrupted international sporting events have lost all legitimacy to zionazi psywar govno excluding athletes for political reasons. All of these sporting events contaminated with this zio-toxin are about as legit as those silly wrestling events now – which zionazis stage for the goy deplorables to pay their money on.

Poop art: Russian sculptor erects giant manure rooster to greet 2017 (PHOTOS)
https://www.rt.com/viral/372601-russian-sculptor-manure-rooster/
“The huge rooster statue, the Chinese zodiac symbol for 2017, was carved out by Mikhail Bopposov with the help of his brothers in Yakutia (Sakha Republic). Locals had to persuade the artist to complete his masterpiece on time, as Bopposov suffered a leg injury and was unable to carry the heavy dung work on his own.”
A bit of trivia. Roosters are known for making a God awful racket at dawn, but the reality is the little bastards often do it all night long.
Bopposov and his brothers have certainly demonstrated that they “have their sh*t together.”
(However, that phrase, IMHO is one of the most unfortunate of the additions to the English language by the 60’s and 70’s counterculture in the West, an omen of things to come, courtesy of the elites of a garbage can that designed the whole social engineering project including the political assassinations of the 60’s, the Vietnam war, most of the “music”. etc.
As any plumber will tell you, it runs downhill, into the sewer.
Now in dry climates, dung can be fuel for heating and cooking.
With a high moisture content, and it being winter, this rooster in far eastern Siberia must be frozen, functioning as a kind of free, icy concrete, once formed.
With the spring rains, however, it will surely collapse into a heap. I’m unclear on the symbology. A phoenix will arise? From fertilizer? Or a bunch of dung Beatles? This is an intriguing, mysterious form that has a variety of implications for 2017..
Cow dung also makes great flooring, Ayurveda-style, as witnessed in Ahmedabad, India a couple of years ago. Nice bronze color, warm, great feel to walk on, but has to be replaced every six months or so.
How about the smell ? true, it doesn’t have the “power” of a pig manure, nevertheless of a human…
U.S. Department of Homeland Security claims that the DNC was hacked using the “Russian” malware tool they have named Grizzly Steppe or “PAS tool PHP web kit”.
My investigation suggests that the Russian hacker who created the Grizzly Steppe malware was in fact a Ukrainian IT student from Poltava National Technical University (ПолтНТУ). The analysis is partly based on cryptographic proof; he signs his work with a SSL certificate with direct links to his internet and social media presence.
Did a Ukrainian University Student Create Grizzly Steppe?
I´d like to share this post on feminism, and reflexions on the presidential show. I still have family and friends back home that ascribe to this false sort of feminism, and are in mourning over the loss of Ms Clinton. Its a beautiful, hopeful post, with a stunning clip of Julian Assange being interviewed by John Pilger.
Top of the morning to the planet which they say is round and have pictures to prove it. I’m feeling anxiety in my chest and throat. I wonder why. The bickering here? The state of the world? I get some insight now by writing stories in the Irish style which provoke anxiety while they clear fear.

Love and War – Episode 12
The Morning After
Lord awakened. The first light of dawn was whitening the windows. Viola was snuggled up next to him with her arm over his waist. He gently lifted it and slipped out of her hug. She made a soft moan but kept on sleeping. He stretched and headed for the bathroom.
Returning, he saw the others in various postures of repose. In the dim night light he retrieved his clothes piece by piece from the couch and dressed. Lady and Arthur lay back to back and Sheila was curled up by herself. He spent a moment enjoying the restful peace.
Flipping light switches, he made his way to the dark kitchen and turned on the lights over the table and stove. The burner clicked and clicked before bursting into blue flame. The pot of ginger tea had enough umph for one more round. He cut a grapefruit at the oak table.
The windows were now brighter. Viola opened her eyes and rolled over. She considered getting up but the bed felt too good. She reflected on the previous evening and wondered what it all meant. She thought of the day ahead and what she wanted to do, then fell back to sleep until awakened by Arthur’s movements in getting up.
Lord cut up an apple and banana and added pineapple pieces, blackberries and quinoa to a bowl. He sipped the hot tea. He was in a pensive mood that had a subtle but unmistakable current of troubled waters. “Peace, my soul,” he chanted inwardly.
The stair steps creaked followed by Viola’s entry into the kitchen in her bathrobe and slippers. Her long black hair was disheveled and her eyes watery and puffy. She pulled up a chair and sat silently, then began to cry. The emotions of last night lingered in her body. She wiped her eyes with her sleeve and fell into silence again.
Lord said softly, “Can I get you something? Tea? Some of this fruit?”
“Maybe later. I’m going to make pancakes.”
Lord sipped tea and gazed across the table at the young woman in her mid-twenties. His mind commented on what his eyes saw, “So young and yet so old. So full of vim, vigor and sharp intelligence. It is a lot for her to handle. She has had enough sexual experience but nothing like what was happening to her now.”
Viola broke the silence. “I think I felt what Lady talks about. How long was I out of it? Or out and about as the Irish say?”
“About an hour,” he replied.
“It was strange.”
“I expect it was.”
Her body shook and she sobbed for a couple minutes. She looked up at Lord. He was old enough to be her grandfather. That was strange too. Her whole life had been strange but this was something she could not have imagined.
Viola had been involved with the community for a few months now, intrigued by the radical ideas and wanting to save both herself and the world. The sex had been fun but last night it tuned powerful, releasing repressions from her past and opening visions of her future.
“I think I had a breakdown.”
“Or maybe a break-through,” he replied.
“Let’s call it a meltdown.” She cried again but this time with relief. Her face regained its determined expression, as if she had passed some kind of test and now just desired rest.
“Get some rest today,” said the calm voice of her older friend. She got up and went around the table to give him a hug, running her fingers through his hair. “Thanks.” She placed a soft kiss on his cheek.
“Do you want some pancakes?” she asked in a now calm tone.
“A couple, if you don’t mind.”
“Maple syrup?”
“Yes.”
“Mind if I put some fruit on top?”
“That sounds delicious.”
A low voice came from the doorway. It was Arthur. “Early risers, are you now? Sure, and you look mighty fine. Top of the morning.”
“And the same to you, lad” Viola sang with a cheerful glint in her eye.
Arthur noted the change. Herself was more than attractive. “Fool,” he thought to himself, “Let her be. Give her space.” He gave her a chaste kiss and hug as she flipped a pancake and reached for a plate.

and next time, maybe a waltz or a polka…happy New Year to your sister !
Thanks. Indeed it does fit my mood. Just what I need at this time. Regards to your mother as well.

Honorable Vineyarders,
Of late I have been taken with the Love and War stories. It may appear that they are off topic but I hope to dissipate that notion if I can. Stopping the Empire’s War on Russia is of course our raison d’etat. The question is how do we best do that?
I am presenting my version through the Love Army and Bower and now through the Love and War episodes. Bear with me since I don’t really know where this will end. I write an episode a day or two before posting it. Fine but once it’s up I have no way of editing it.
Let me work out here in this public forum what I think is going on in the unfolding story and in the very real world. If any see inconsistencies or better ways to develop the characters or plot, let me know.
First off in the broadest way, I see this as a war of cultures between a love culture and a war culture as implied in the title. It is also a spiritual war against a secular civilization and the other way around.
On the spiritual side there are sub-wars. Orthodox versus Romanists is the one I concern myself with but there are thousands of others within Christianity alone.
On the secular side there are the Anglos, Zionists and New Russianists as presented by Putin and his multi-polar allies.
If I read the Trump and Putin rapprochement rightly, the Anglos are positioning themselves for an eventual offer to the Zionists that they can’t refuse. The Zios of course will never take such a deal but they may choose to dissemble as if they do; or they may make a Custer’s last stand which turns out to be an Indian last gasp. Both sides know this so eventually there will only be one king of the mountain among the top three pretenders to the throne. For simplicity’s sake let us call them Pope, Khazar and Putinist. I’d say the odds are pretty even at this point but that could change since the first two are dead set on ruling the world.
Russia is caught in the middle between the militant Christians of the Church Triumphant and the militant Khazars of the Secular Messiah or anti-Christ. She is vulnerable to attack from both sides which desire a subservient Russia–which still refuses to bend the knee. If Russia continues to go from strength to strength and does not succumb to rupture within, she may make the other two a deal that can’t refuse, at least temporarily.
There are wars without end with uncountable sub-plots. It’s a snake pit down there which I believe only true love can solve; and it must be solved for survival’s sake.
This vineyard seems to be an ex-pat Russia without guns with a tolerant central authority based on traditional orthodoxy. But I note that within the word “tolerant” simmers “tole” for totalitarian and “rant” for suppressed emotion.
That brings out the need for literary characters to hold a mirror up to humanity with the stature of a Bible or a Shakespeare canon fit for the times. I am woefully inadequate to such a task but perhaps what an individual cannot do a community can. In the interim we have poetry, music, song, photogenics et alii to keep us on the straight and narrow.
Dennis, rather than a war on Russia, it is a war on the world. Because Russia has the power to tell the US to pee off, attention is focussed on Russia, but never forget that this is a US Empire war on the world.
The War on Terror. A self given licence to kill anyone anywhere. Many of the mid east countries have suffered far more than Russia.
Netanyahu calls for pardon of Israeli soldier convicted of manslaughter

“At the time of the fatal shooting in the head, which was captured on camera, the Palestinian assailant had already been immobilized and posed no danger to the public or the Israeli soldier, contrary to defense claims which said that Sharif posed an immediate danger.

“His motive for shooting was that he felt the terrorist deserved to die,” chief judge, Col. Maya Heller, said delivering the. Azaria now faces 20-year behind bars for manslaughter. While the defense team said they would appeal the verdict, Netanyahu urged Israeli president Reuven Rivlin to pardon the soldier.”
No surprise the subhuman c-suck and war criminal netanyahoo wants to pardon this war criminal, they cut from the same cloth.
Ick! More Bed Bugs in The US Than Ever Before
https://sputniknews.com/us/201701051049273286-bed-bugs-america-pest-infestation/
“We have more people affected by bed bugs in the United States now more than ever,” claimed Ron Harrison, Ph.D., Orkin entomologist and director of technical services, who adding that bed bugs are a growing issue and not necessarily a sign of uncleanliness.
According to Harrison, anyone, even the most fastidious, can find the pesky hitchhikers in their home.
“People may have bed bugs and not know it, because many people have no physical reaction to bed bug bites,” Harrison says. “That’s why it’s important for people everywhere to inspect for bed bugs regularly.”
Bedbugs are synonymous with zionists and other fascists, especially the neocon-neolib critters. Not just because they are blood sucking parasites, do a web search on their reproductive habits. ;D

WikiLeaks ‘suing CNN’ over ex-CIA official’s on-air Assange smear
https://www.rt.com/usa/372672-wikileaks-suing-cnn-assange/
“WikiLeaks says it intends to sue CNN after a counter-terrorism analyst for the US cable news channel labeled Julian Assange a ‘pedophile’ on air.
Mudd responded by saying the Fox News interview “skirted the bottom line [of] do you know if the Russian’s were involved?… not ‘where did you get the information’.”
He suggested Assange did not want to “taint his operation,” before astonishingly labeling him a “pedophile who lives in the Ecuadorian embassy in London.”
Are there any human beings working for cnn? If so, why haven’t they quit.
This is very interesting.
Trump Presidency Energizes Push for ‘Audit the Fed’ Bill, Advocacy Group Says
https://sputniknews.com/us/201701051049275737-trump-audit-fed/
“With a President who supports ‘Audit the Fed’ finally sitting in the White House, Congress has no excuse to not quickly pass this bill and finally let the American people know the truth about the Fed’s conduct on monetary policy, including its dealings with foreign governments and central banks,” Paul said on Wednesday.
The bill stalled in the last four sessions of Congress and Paul, now retired as a lawmaker, has passed the legislative campaign to his son, US Senator Rand Paul, who introduced a new version of the legislation this week.
Paul explained that for more than a century, the Fed has exercised almost absolute and unquestioned authority over America’s monetary policy.
“As a result, the US economy has experienced repeated boom-and-bust cycles, increasing income inequality and the loss of 90 percent of the dollar’s purchasing power,” Paul stated.
Paul also noted Trump’s criticism of the Fed during the US presidential campaign, including the president-elect’s endorsement of past proposals to audit the US central bank.
The latest bill titled the Federal Reserve Transparency Act would require the Government Accountability Office (GAO) to audit the Reserve’s Board of Governors and banks within a year of the bill’s passage.”
A “missing link”. This may be one of the major reasons the zionazis are hysterical about trump, should this be accurate about him supporting a fed audit.
This will be the most difficult task to get it through, the FED being the dearest “darling” for the deep state. I would not be surprised if it will backfire already in this year, there is too much at stake and maybe too much to take. Well, Trump still has four years to do that in a first shot.
I have a little dedication for the stalwarts and the new poets and artists to end my night. And the sky gazers. The waning and waxing slivers of the Dove of Dawn and Dusk. I’m a watcher too, but the comments are so abundant and full, I am happy to defer to the descriptions of others, knowing that mundo and his students have got it covered.
I even watched a video of a dark complexioned astrologer with an Australian accent who indignantly repulsed a sniggering question, “So you believe in astrology?” with a ton of attitude:
“No, I do not believe in astrology. I know astrology. .
I can’t say that. But I am paying more atention to the night sky, and may know more, little by little.
He was pretty good, politically, BTW! Anti-AZ Empire and vitriolic about it.
In short, I’ve been goofing off, ie doing “research”, “surfing”, and all that. On high alert, mind you.
Ioan and Dennis and other Café Workhorses really pulled their weight, I must say!
It’s been a strange US holiday season. Little warmth and cheer and no tree . Too much expecting a New Pearl Harbor at any moment. I immersed myself in reading 3 books and viewing 6 movies, including the 70’s Soviet Taming of the Fire. My wife saw me watching it and said, “We were a real country then!”
Here’s the whole movie, in Russian, with English subtitles:
https://youtu.be/nks1TgP_mI4
I’m hoping she’ll get over the 1990s some day and realize Russia is a real country today. She briefly discussed the director and lead actor, with her Soviet pride. And turned up the thermostat to 75. I tell her, “This is California!”. But some Russians are allergic to ANY cold, believe it or not!
Can’t they wait an hour or two for that California sun to do its thing, after getting a little higher in the sky?? She will not! After a decade and a half of fruitless climate and frugality coaching. An epic sort of stubbornness.
I guess she doesn’t fuss much about Dec 25th because the real deal is a couple of days from now:
https://www.bing.com/images/search?q=Russian+Orthodox+Christmas&id=54021D2765B25A34CB8C425513599AD68E71069D&FORM=IQFRBA
Anyway, it may be a blue moon before I conceptualize how to share my “research”. I’m working on it.
So, Deadly Poets, veteran and new (including those of the visual arts, drama, fiction, etc, etc) a short dedication to the wonderful human division of labor and of art in all of its forms (Franz, earthrise and others whose replies I read, but then shamefully sank back into holiday sloth……..):
Behold the rich interdependence among human beings, nations, bowers, armies, Cafés, Vineyards, generations dying out and being born:
” Heav’n forming each on other to depend,
A master, or a servant, or a friend,
Bids each on other for assistance call,
Till one man’s weakness grows the strength of all.
Wants, frailties, passions, closer still ally
The common, int’rest, or endear the tie.
To these we owe true friendship, love sincere,
Each home-felt joy that life inherits here;
Yet from the same we learn, in its decline,
Those joys, those love, those int’rests to resign;
Taught, half by Reason, half by mere decay,
To welcome Death, and calmly pass away.
Whate’er the passion–knowledge, fame or pelf–
Not one will change his neighbour with himself.
The learn’d is happy Nature to explore,
The fool is happy that he knows no more;
The rich is happy in the plenty giv’n,
The poor contents him with the care of Heav’n.
See the blind beggar dance, the cripple sing,
The sot a hero, lunatic a king,
The starving chymist in his golden views
Supremely bless’d, the poet in his Muse.
See some strange comfort ev’ry state attend,
And Pride bestow’d on all, a common friend:
See some fit passion every age supply;
Hope travels thro’, nor quits us when we die.
(Excerpt, Alexander Pope’s Essay on Man near the end of Epistle II….)
I was hit by a thunderbolt. I was on my way here. I stopped first to check my email. Received one. From a young woman now somewhere south of the border. She and two other young women helped me with my website, videotaping me talking. She sent me a professional music recording she did with some friends. Thanked me for encouraging her to sing during our taping a couple years ago.
Strange. I felt this painful resistance in my chest. I was judging and hateful. I kept asking myself why I was doing this. It didn’t make sense. Then the thought hit me. I was in love with her and trying to deny it. And to a lesser extent with her two friends. It’s crazy and dangerous because I’m old enough to be her grandfather.
She made the recording on the day her grandmother died. It’s a sacred time in her career. How could I feel like I do? This kind of feeling is something I must control but not suppress entirely or “the last state will be worse than the first.”
I get a similar feeling coming to this vineyard. Danger. I resist and am attracted. What I am doing is dangerous. Must be controlled but not entirely suppressed.
@ Bro 93. Your wife. What can I say? Thanks for the honesty. I intend to watch Taming of the Fire today rather than post my next story unless a new cafe changes my mind. Your lead-in to Pope’s essay was as evocative as his more lengthy essay. What a swirling dance of diversity we are.
Love is a fire all right. Taming it is not extinguishing it. War is the result of love denied.
“Heaven has no rage like love to hatred turned
Nor hell a fury like a woman [or man] scorned
Say what you will
‘Tis better to be left
Than never to have been loved”
William Congreve 1670-1729
Quote is from one of his characters in a play.
I haven’t seen that many Russian movies (or any movies, for that matter) in my busy life, but I hopefully embark on 2017 dreaming of the Vineyard Book and Cinema Bistro.
The Taming of the Fire would be on the top of my movie list, (because I just watched it, this holiday) but there must be dozens of other Russian movies to sip and savor, a veritable wine cellar to transport the mind and soul more fully around all the time zones of this planet.
Russia will add new dimensions of depth to your Love Theme, Dennis.
Even Hollywood or the English directors can convey some of that depth, and for all its Empire deviations from true Russian art, David Lean’s Zivago first lit my romantic fire regarding Russia.
https://www.theguardian.com/film/2015/nov/13/in-praise-of-brief-encounter-doctor-zhivago
“In a war, as Humphrey Bogart once told us, the love problems of the individual don’t amount to a hill of beans.”
Or, do they have a way of being magnified, a billion-fold???
It may be that aching tension between the epic scale of events of global import set in immense geography and the brief, fragile moments in personal time in a surging sea of history. For me it was when Komarovsky wrenched Lara out of Yuri’s aching heart and Poet’s Love Bower on the frozen steppes and the doctor/poet watched the sled bearing her over the far horizon, disappearing into the vastness of Russia.
When your heart is being ripped out, and it aches to even breathe, you feel the most alive.
Many thanks. I watched Taming of the Fire–inspiring story for our time. The Empire is now attacking Russia and Trump using McCain. Now on to the next cafe. Carpe diem.
Why is that bothers you that your wife, who has not left her country to keep feeling cold in California in winter, put the heating in the morning till the sun rises?
This year is being really cold, even in warm latitudes…..and many women have always hands and feet cold, what does not help in getting warm.
Do not be so stingy, dammit, or she will start to abhorring you, or worst, will return to Russia ….. Yes, I already know that you hate Christmas…. because of the pain of the wallet … there in the mall … It’s only money, man….. Will not be, that you believe, like Komarovsky, you can buy everything with money, even Lara’s love?….No way…..
So, now, are you feeling amorous?…..
Then, what kind of movies are you asking for, love movies or war movies?…..
The problem with Russian cinema is that there is few with English subtitles or even any other language´s subtitles at all, what is a pity, really, since all the Russian movies has such a deepeness and are so moving….
Fortunately, most probably due to the Hispano-Soviet Friendship and those Spanish-Russian ( Children of War ), there is a few in Spanish, or with Spanish subtitles, like this one:

You don’t know WTF you’re talking about. Extrapolating and projecting like a madman. And hiding behind “Anonymous”.
Ridiculous comment. No one is going anywhere. The only unhappy one is you, and it shows in your mean-spirited nonsense!
I just get a little hot, that’s all. I have no problem paying whatever it takes to keep the house under 80 degrees.
Back under your bridge, Anonymouse. With your pet anti-Putin article you’d just love to post for the 26th-50th time to lamely attempt convince people of the need for Unipolarity, in the guise of western impotent “class war”.
Oh look! Another one of these “Mossad” false-flags things some members of our community are so keen to point at…
At least 11 killed, 35 injured in car blast outside stadium in Jableh, Syria – state TV
“[..] The coastal Mediterranean governorate is predominantly populated by the Alawite sect, and is part of the power base of the Syrian government.
According to local senior medical officer Ghassan Findi, the number of dead and injured is expected to rise, since the wounded are still being transported to hospitals, Reuters reports, citing state TV.”

^ Ooops, but this one happened in Syria, rather than in Europe or elsewhere in the Western world, so this one have be a legit Islamist terrorist attack then, because… you know… reasons! :/

Meanwhile was a new car-bomb attack in Turkey, in Izmir, with two dead and scores wounded. Two of the attackers is said to have been killed while a third is on the run. False flag ? I doubt it. Perpetrators ? the list is long…
