Dear friends,
It is with a huge pleasure that I can announce some very good and long waited news: the new Saker blog is now up and running and you can use either of the two following links to access it:
My wonderful IT team (A, F and MB – thanks guys!!) put a lot of work into importing seven years worth of posts and comments and to add a host of improvements. For example, from now on you will be able to sign on using a host of different social media networks. Anonymous comments will still allowed.
Please pay careful attention to the “ABOUT” menu and its submenus including, most importantly, the new moderation policy. FYI – I will be doing all the moderation myself, but these rules will be very strictly enforced. I consider these rules to be both very minimalistic, vitally important and very permissible. I have put up with a amazing amount of arrogant and nasty trolling here because of my naivete and because originally this blog had a full “anything goes/zero censorship” policy. Now I know better and I have learned it the hard way.
Please look around the site and please take a look at the different pages and let me know what you think, preferable by posting your likes/dislikes as comments on the new blog (please no private emails or comments here, okay?).
I will continue double-posting here and on the new blog for at least one more month until all the kinks problems and other bugs and issues are resolved. However,
Next Monday, October 13 I will close all comments on this blog (I mean the original vineyardsaker.blogspot.com) and you will only be able to post comments on the new blog.
After the new blog’s minor issues will be solved (in a month or so) I will “freeze” this blog (again, I mean the original vineyardsaker.blogspot.com) and thus stop double-posting. This means that I will not delete it and I will keep it as a repository of old articles and, if needed, as a well known fallback option should an attack (of any nature) be successful on the new blog.
So if suddenly all the Saker blogs including http://10.16.86.131/ and http://10.16.86.131/ all go off-line and you can always try to come back here to get an update about the situation.
Also, in preparation for the worst be hoping for the best, the following mirrors do currently exist. I will maintain the ones I own, but the three others do not depend on me and while I hope that they will remain up and running I cannot guarantee that:
run by me:
http://thesaker.ucoz.com/blog
https://thesaker.wordpress.com/
run by friends:
https://wikispooks.com/VS/
http://info.scoop.co.nz/Saker_Analytics
https://vineyardsaker.wordpress.com/
Finally, please write down the following email addresses you can reach me at:
vineyardsaker@gmail.com (primary)
vineyardsaker@mail.ru (main backup)
thesaker@unseen.is (only for secure communications)
You might wonder why I am so paranoid. Well, first, I am paranoid by nature, nurture, training, education, professional inclination and experience. But most importantly, I know that we are really making a difference. Not only does this blog – according to Google – get anywhere between 20’000+ visitors per day (on a very quiet day) to an incredible 70’000 visitors in one day on August 31st (when events accelerated in the Ukraine), but the other four Saker Blogs – Russian, French, German and Oceania – are also doing very well, as are their associated YouTube channels. Even better, I can already make the following pre-announcement:
We are working on two more Saker Blogs: Spanish and Serbian! There also appears to be interest in creating a Dutch Saker Blog.
Add to this a very good collaboration with the great Russia Insider community of contributors and you will see that my paranoia is well-founded. The recent Saker-bashing campaign – they are still at it – has convinced me that there are interests out there which are extremely annoyed by what the Saker community is doing. Their attempts at smearing and discrediting me ended up backfiring at them (they lost a lot of credibility in the process) but I don’t think that they will stop at that. I expect both legal and technical challenges next, hence the time it took to prepare and secure the new blog in legal and technical terms. Without going into any details, let’s just say that we have put a great deal of redundancy and survivability into the new blog.
Finally, I apologize for the little time I have had to write for this blog. I can promise you that all that time was spent in developing and strengthening our Saker community and that, God willing, things should return to some degree of normalcy soon.
Okay – your turn now: what do you think about all that?
Please let us all know what does not work and is still buggy (the CAPTCHAs for anonymous posting are not working for me, I think that I will completely remove the CAPTCHAs) and then please be patient while we fix it.
Again – please post your replies on the NEW blog’s (http://10.16.86.131/ ) Open Thread created for that purpose! But if you *cannot* post there due to a technical reasons like some bug or mis-configured option, then please do post here.
Kind regards and many thanks to all,
The Saker
Well done on the move. Right now it looks as though the registration page for new commenters is not working.
This url: http://migration1.vineyardsaker.ru/register goes to 404
I’d hate somebody else to snaffle my username. ;)
Saker, yes, the Captcha is not correctly configured. Can I suggest that you DO use Captcha in some form, or at least a way to halt ‘bots in their tracks.
There are other tools than numeric or letter based tools. A simple test of humanity can work well for example an arithmetic challenge or, as I have used on one of my higher trafficked sites for ages a test such as a question with an obvious answer.
WordPress is such a common platform that it attracts spammers and ‘bots in huge profusion and you do not have any of Google’s magic protecting you now. You could try this tool directly to manage comments: https://wordpress.org/plugins/easy-captcha/ with this you can try different techiques to see which works best for you starting with ‘invisible captcha’ which is as it sounds. ;)
I assume that you use Akismet, I use a German anti spam tool called Antispam Bee. Slightly more configurable and with no demands or persuasive messages to get you to pay money for Akismet’s service.
Could not post there – captcha issue…
Here is what I was trying to post:
The archive in the old blog is easy to search – with stats (number of entries per month) and expanding “menu”. This was very helpful when I discovered this blog and started reading through it. Suggest similar structure for the archive, rather than clicking on a month and just getting everything.
Saker na srpskom konačno-Saker on serbian finally.Puno ljudi te čita u Srbiji-a lot of people reads you in Serbia.Samo napred care-right on man.
Captcha not working, and new blogs not in sync.
No parasan :)
Could not post on the new one.
No Saint George ribbon any more?
The previous site was remarkable also because it looked different from all the others.
In my browser the font is a bit big.
Hello, Saker!
Congratulations from Romania! The site looks good. Different, but good.
I tried to register, but it doesn’t work. Any ideas why and when it will work?
Also, this comment is here, because there were problems posting on the new blog: captcha doesn’t work!
Good job with the new site and keep up the good work. It is very important for all of us!
Your writings inspire us!
It is definitively a more pleasing format. The colors are nice and well used too.
Oftenly in “western” cultures blue + white are related to “honestity, trust, etc.”.
Grey and background design gives it a fancy touch too.
Letter fonts & size: comfortable.
In summary, a nice new home!
Cheers!
PS: About the colors… could you suggest to the Russia Insider people to use “less red” like “Russia Beyond The Headlines” format or consider the use of a color scheme “The Moscow Times”-like. I think that could be useful for their purposes…
what I instantly hate about your new blog: the wasted space on the left and on the right side of the layout.
this Layoutstyle was popular in the 2000’s or so.
together with the too big font it makes reading articles really a PITA and it is much harder to grasp the volume of a text when you have to scroll several pages because of these flaws.
well, some people will probably like it – visually impaired ones. but I truly hate it. hope you can fix the crappy layout and not waste so much space on emptyness.
davidius
Looks good. I use to save in PDF format. No big deal, copy and past will work as well
Dear The Saker,
Congratulations and thank you to everyone who helped.
It looks great and will try and comment later when the bugs are sorted out as it didn’t let me.
Rgds,
Veritas
Tried to post a comment several times:
ERROR: Unreadable CAPTCHA token file
Hello Saker,
What’s the login on the right of the page for?
I had a negative reaction to it, because I avoid sites that want me to log in.
My immediate impression was that the site is exclusive to members.
Regards,
Michael
captcha prob for me too.
place looks nice tho. found and corrected here a few minor but grating errors under the first ‘terminology’ subheading:
1) Anglo:
The USA is an Empire. With roughly 1000 overseas bases (depends on how you count), an undeniably messianic ideology, a bigger defense/offense budget than the rest of the planet combined, 16+ spy agencies, the dollar as work currency, there is no doubt that the US is a planetary Empire. Where did the US Empire come from? Again, that’s a no brainer – from the British Empire. Furthermore, the US Empire is really based on a select group of nations: the Echelon countries, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the UK and, of course, the US. What do these countries have in common? They are the leftovers of the British Empire and they are all English speaking. Notice that France, Germany or Japan are not part of this elite even though they are arguably as important or more to the USA than, say, New Zealand, and far more powerful. So the “Anglo” part is undeniable. And yet, even though “Anglo” is an ethnic/linguistic/cultural category while “Zionist” is a political/ideological one, very rarely do I get an objection about speaking of “Anglos” or the “Anglosphere”.
Saker:
Site looks great but I get this message no matter how refreshes
ERROR: Unreadable CAPTCHA token file
Still have a damn captcha.
The site looks good, but the fonts and buttons are too large. The sidebar on the right side seems odd. You used an unusual font for comments as it is not good for text emotes.
On vineyardsaker.net there’s broken icon image for comment and house keeping.
Overall nice but the captcha is still annoying but at least you can type it right in one go now :) Spoke too soon, as I typed it wrong and trying again….
Well,I´ve never had problems commenting here.
But in the new site is impossible to me not only reply a comment because of the “CAPTCHA unreadable” message, that appears one after another, even asking for a new Captcha.
Then I try to login but a message says to me that my password is wrong. How the hell if I have not sign before?
Very upset! I know this captcha system from the blog of Professor Juan Carlos Monedero and I can say that as far as I’m concerned, it has a deterrent effect as to comment, because one can take a while making a comment and then failing to publish, as has happened to me many times. My time to comment is limited.
Hello again Saker,
May I suggest: 1. You display the philosophy on the front page rather than in a menu. A good place would be under Saker community and above login. The philosophy is the blog’s flag and I would like to see it waving.
2. I think a separate button for moderation policy might save you some work. There would be more chance of the children seeing and reading it and deciding not to post.
And спасибо большое. For all your work, and the work of your helpers. I appreciate it very much.
Michael
Anyway congrats on the new site.
I feel the same as WalterSobchak in terms of space on the right. Although the letter is larger which will thank our eyes on the old blog you could see at a glance all the commentary and with the “Collapse comments” function was easier to find a comment or commenter.
Some right torn faced craturs on here Saker, you’d think they’d be grateful with you going out of your way to provide a platform and a wheen of info that many of us would’ve struggled to piece together otherwise. I love your blog and wish you luck with the new format etc, i’ll get used to the layout it can’t be more difficult than trying to work out VVPs next move :)
The new site looks great. Moves better, more airy, easy to read.
One important drawback is that it requires a log in in through some existing account. Aside from being cumbersome, this method will turn many people off who are concerned about the privacy of their accounts.
The standard Word Press posting requirements would be a lot better. These requirements consist of just a valid email address and a name (any name). The email address is visible only to the blog owner/moderator. That’s it. No passwords involved. A lot simpler.
New blog says
error: unreadble captcha token

I hope that the registration for the site gets working and I can register and sign in here — I don’t like the ‘social discussion’ sites and don’t generally trust them — some we know track, delve, and otherwise compromise security.
Incidentally, my ancient computer was struck down on the field of the battle of upgrades and obsolescence, and is barely limping along. Move to new machine and from Windows (a real capitalist kluge pig) to Linux is underway, but that will take a while — it’s like moving from US to Russia, perhaps: new language, new system, new culture, new sanity — but well worth it if one can manage it. Worst of all, mt system administrator and support staff are still not competent — they are all me.
Yes, Saker — you have my sympathies about moving.
I can sympathize with Russia, an the rest of the world which is breaking from the US/EU based empire and monetary systems too. I’m sure it’s all worth it, however.
-Blue
I like the new style, though I agree with WalterSobchak that the font is too large.
There is a typo on the community page. The second link of the 911 community reads
9/11 Turth
The capchas are clearer but I have the same problem as the others above. The register button leads to a 404 ‘/register not found’ error page.
I miss the photo of the saker and the St George ribbon. There is a new saker(?) on the left of the heading bar, so could the ribbon go on the right of it?
I like the search page, especially the ability to sort results in date order.
Courage is the power to let go of the familiar. – Raymond Lindquist
Congratulations Saker, take a deep breath..
Congrats you made it.
In Chrome the font is too big, I had to work really hard to scroll down constantly to keep up with reading progress.
I would also like to see Saint George ribbon, at the end it is what all this is about.
Dear Saker,
Many thanks to you and the IT team! Generally the new site looks very good. Maybe the empty space left and right could be used to enlarge the text box. Also, the font could be a bit smaller.
I miss the Saint George ribbon which is a symbol of this blog and connects it with the Sakerblogs in other languages.
And Saker, you are writing and hosting this important blog in addition to your family and job. Therefore you don’t need to apologize for having too little time to write. We all know what you’ve achieved in the last few weeks.
I tried to post on the new site but the Captcha was worse than here so this is what i wrote: Congratulation on your new site!
I am a little bit too conservative so it will take a little time for me to adjust to this new format!
Please keep the anonymous possibility for I am not part of any of these networks you so nicely offered and if you want to abolish the anonymous allow us to sign in with our e-mail address .
BCH
Congratulations Saker…. re the font … a Sans Serif font is easier to read than Arial. Also the font is too large which then needs lots of scrolling to read full article – large font size on headings make then ‘scream’ out.
I would like to see the ‘What’s a Saker Anyway’ comment at top of right hand side… it’s an important logo and deserves more prominence.
Here is what I tried to post:
Hi Saker,
thanks to your efforts and your open-mindedness the Saker community is becoming a valuable information resource in the current fight against the spreading darkness. My most sincere congratulations and I hope you (and all of us) will find our way in the “interesting” times ahead.
Take very good care of yourself
With my very best wishes
NotSoFast
but the captcha does not cooperate :-)
I have tried using the ‘connect with’ buttons to log on.
i) Facebook, Instagram, Odnoklassniki(?), Reddit, Steam, Twitch tv, Twitter all produce a pop up page stating
[Site:Vineyard Saker] Could not connect to xxxxxx
Please verify the xxxxxx configuration of your Site.
If you are the owner of Vineyard Saker, you can fix this error here: Setup xxxxxx Configuration
ii) The Yahoo logon page appears to be cut off on the right side.
iii)Skyrock results in a delayed pop up page which immediately disappears.
iv) The pop up page for Google and YouTube gives a ‘404 Invalid Client’ response after I have entered my details and pressed login.
Congratulations Saker!
If you knew how the wealth of reliable information of your site, is a relief for poor disinformed people…
I hope the Spanish Saker will come soon, because it will address a great need of information in Spanish.
Why not some day in Portuguese… though probably not before the final Brazilian election (October 26th); I don’t have the impression either of these two candidates (Dilma Roussef and Aécio Neves) are State Department puppets, though Dilma Roussef welcomes all the worse of “societal right” Americain NGO rubbish and endorse their demands, while Aecio Neves may be considered a bit unwarned against Americans; though not admiring them the least, his politics is quite different.
Sorry, I forgot to sign again…
TR
(I wonder what will be the system of identification on the new site)
Very nice!
I love the clean look, with plenty of space to the left and right of the central area. It’s good not to be dictated by fashion, which is so fickle, particularly on the web, and in many cases also idiotic (think, the current fashion for above-the-fold slide-shows (invariably devoid of content) and on-again off-again “metro/flat” looks).
All seems to be working OK, except for the dodgy captcha.
Good decision to do all the moderation yourself and not take up those recent offers from… um… who knows whom?
Well done, for all the hard work to the Saker and his team.
ɓʁuçɚ
Thanks, Saker, for all your efforts.
Agreement with Blue and anon at 22:06. I don’t use social discussion sites and don’t intend to…Other options for login would be helpful.
As of 7:21 ET, registration doesn’t work on either link.
Looks great however.
Great news. This blog is key along with others about getting out the news on how the evil NWO is attacking NovoRussia, Syria and other areas.
I saw on the Sevastapol blong that the criminal nazi ZATO junta in Kiev is giving Ukie conscripts radio active vehicles from Chernobyl! These people are so evil.

The Vineyard of the Saker: NEW SAKER BLOG IS OFFICIALLY LAUNCHED!!
I like this one better because it’s comes out better on my mobile
Here I see the scope of articles and can chose the one I am interested
The new one shows the last one only and the articles goes
So I have to go down and look and it’s tiring
@VINEYARDSAKER
One little problem. I have just compared your two new links, namely / and / – and noticed that the comments posted in these two mutually *differ* !!!
Wouldn’t you wish to have these two sites be *exact mirrors* of each other? Or … you might even have some compelling reason for not doing so… Could you please clarify? Thank you.
Greetings from Singapore:
For privacy reasons prefer to use vkontakte instead of Google or Amazon.
Vkontakte gives an error:
[Site:Vineyard Saker] Could not connect to VKontakte
Please verify the VKontakte configuration of your Site.
If you are the owner of Vineyard Saker, you can fix this error here: Setup VKontakte Configuration
Congratulations on the new site and on all of your accomplishments in recent days to expand the reach of this blog.
I tried to register but must have done something wrong. After I clicked on “Register” I ended up back at the form I had just filled out. There are some boxes in the form for which I have no info, e.g., “Aim.” = ??
Anyhow, hope it all works out and it is as easy to read and post there as to do so here (minus diabolical captchas—which, actually, I don’t mind so much anymore . . . I must have gotten better at figueing them out).
Katherine
Congratulation to your new site, registration doesn’t work on either link, I know it will be fixed don’t worry.
A bit of topic
Breaking!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is extremely graphic!!!!!!!!!!Can somebody explain this, that Muslim will do this tyranny to his brother Muslim???????
Same pictures were coming from Ukraine is there any connections???Hired psychopaths to kill innocent?
Please if somebody can stop this madness, please ,please do it as soon as possible

I didn’t log in, and I’m very grateful Saker not to have to. I give my name and that’s all I’ve ever wanted me or anyone to do. This is great.
I posted a comment nested as a reply to Saker’s comment – I love that I can see it, even though it says Held for Moderation. I love that we can reply to specific comments and have nested discussions, this should organize long threads quite a bit. Excellent!
The font is larger than it needs to be, I reduced my browser page size, but then the comments font is too small so I had to come back up – no complaints just feedback.
Well done Saker, thank you very much!
At this moment as I write, both URLs of the new blog are not happening.
I guess the great folks doing the work on this must be at work tweeking something.
Hope nobody is panicking :-)
I’m going to go check to see what’s up in Novorossiya. It’s about 05.52 hrs Tuesday 7 Oct. in Ukraine right now I think.

Yikes! a captcha!
Hi Saker !
I went to the other site, but the comment box was partly off screen and I could not post a comment.
Sorry to say, I like this one.
I think your whole format should be indentical.
I don’t think my computer will tolerate the new site. My computer’s really old.
I can’t seem to make heads nor tails of the new site.
HI Saker !
I got registered. I don’t think my computer can give me the format of your new site, but I can see the article.
Great new site, but I need to know if we need a unique password, or can use our Google account that we were using. Also I miss the St. Andrew’s ribbon as well and hope you will put it on the new site.
congrats!! will cjheck aspa!! and thxx!!!

Hallo Saker!
Congratulations to your new site!
But I can not open the Site because the same problem as I had before with the “Russia insider”:
URL Category is “none”.
Please correct it, please.

I wouldn’t double-post. Only serves to create ambiguity, inconsistency. Clean cut, unanbiguous representation are preferrable. Old block as fallback, otherwise read-only. Less work, less issues.

Compliments for the new blog, easier to access, read, search, and more effective to follow. Thanks to all that allowed it to be built.
On another theme.
Seeing the incompetence, foulness bordering the suicide (respect to the true European interests) of the present EU leaders(?), the falseness and indecency of the Main Strem Media in the EU, and all of them awe and servility respect to the USA diktats (indeed only a powerful minority within it),one thing could be worthy to copy from the present Banderastan.
The Lustration Procedure.
When finally the European peoples will awake, process all such servants, to exclude them not only from any activity or job implying public responsabilities, but also to cut their salaries and pensions. And carefully verify how their properties were acquired.
Blogger uses akami so no matter where you are, you still get pretty fast updates. So Speeds will be slow for anyone outside the major networks. And will not work for some others. Also comments will drop off drastically since you dont get to see old threads like with Blogger. I am surprised Blogger has become this useful almost like a forum. All the other formats like on zero hedge or yahoo where the threads go to the next page gets lost. Maybe instead of comments attach a forum to the thread and are not very useful. IMDB forum type messaging is the best way it seems. Every thing has its downsides though. Still I think this site took off like it has mainly because of how the comments worked. Having used RT, I very rarely if ever go back and read the comments after the original article the first time. While here I do it quite often.
Another take on my friends friend is my enemies friends enemies enemy..
Again, within the “coalition of the willing”, there are far too many contradictions. The US is depending on the very same Gulf allies, who, as Vice President Joe Biden openly acknowledged during a speech at the Harvard University on Thursday, were only responsible for the creation of the IS.
Put differently, these Gulf countries and Turkey (which funded, equipped and assisted the IS to surge) have their own agenda, which is different from the US’.
To quote the Middle East analyst mentioned above, “the ‘war’ in the Middle East has evolved into a war between Wahhabism and other orientations of Salafism, such as the Muslim Brotherhood (whom Saudis now seek to blame for the emergence of the IS). It is a war of Sunni on Sunni, of Wahhabi Saudi Arabia versus Wahhabi Qatar, of Wahhabi Jabat An-Nusra against IS; of Wahhabi Saudi Arabia and certain of its allies against the Muslim Brotherhood.”
Suffice to say, it is a boiling cauldron and a massive spillover cannot be avoided. The high probability is a repetition of the 1979 Islamic revolution in Iran — this time around in Saudi Arabia.

Sharing buttons would be useful at each post in the new blog (for Facebook, Twitter, etc.). The old one missed that opportunity and I don’t know why.
I miss the quotes, the St George button, and the Quenelle …
Most of all, I don’t want to login and try to remember an effing password.
The font is way too big. I feel like I’m on one of those “in your face” sell sites.
And frankly, that logo at the top left makes me think, every time I look at it, of the American Eagle having conquered the World.
I recognize the tremendous job the designers have done. Thank you!
I have to agree with those who prefer the way this (old) blog looks and works. Alien Tech said:
“Still I think this site took off like it has mainly because of how the comments worked.” I agree. One can easily scroll down and see all comments, also, search all comments
The only disadvantage I am aware of is not being able to reply directly. This inconvenience could be significantly improved merely by disallowing Anonymous postings. At the same time, there is a downside to “direct reply” too. I am sure there are many reasons for switching, which I don’t understand. My comment at the new site got lost: The background looks like (boring) bedroom wallpaper, the logo looks more like a pigeon than a falcon, and many other good features seem to have been lost. Mainly, it seems to contain less material. The log-in box is now the most prominent visual feature. But the role of registering and logging is unclear to me. I also don’t understand why I see only a “reply” box and not a “comment” box.
I am also one who is turned off by all the social media hype. I don’t understand any reason for traveling to the Saker blog via all these social media routes when one can just open up the page directly. I am probably missing a main point here.
Still, whatever . . . I shall certainly continue to read and appreciate what the Saker and many contributors have to say. It will be an interesting experiment to see whether the new format leads to increased or to decreased participation.
Katherine
