Patreon has started a system of charging sales tax according to jurisdiction. So, if you are a subscriber from say Germany, they will charge VAT according to the German tax model. For the US, it would be according to the tax model of your state. The reason for this is because so many have now started selling or giving away t-shirts, books and other merchandise on Patreon.
For normal donations to The Saker, we have set all the Patreon subscribers on a donation model where no sales tax or VAT is payable. For the next month I would much appreciate if you can check your Patreon subscription and make sure that you are not being charged any sales taxes as this generally does not apply for donations.
You also may receive an email from Patreon to advise you of the new tax model.
I trust we will have no problems because our system is very simple, but check anyway and if anything is not correct, please contact me. My email is on the bottom of the page, saker assistant.
Finally, thank you so much for the regular Patreon support of The Saker site.

I send currency through the U.S. Mail service and as far as I know, it gets there intact. The “Jackson 5” are my choice of contributing, so the grapes of truth grown and harvested in the Saker’s Vineyard continue to be bountiful and appreciated by us all.
I am located in Sweden and just signed up USD 10 monthly, but was immediately charged 12.50 (we have 25% VAT). So now I have stopped all Patreon payments. Just to let you know.
I would very much like a way contribute on a monthly bases where all the money ends up with you – please advice.
Always very grateful for The Saker – for most of the contributors (whom would never have reached me without you) and extremely grateful for The Saker himself!

Ulf, I’m working from the Patreon information as I of course do not have knowledge of all the jurisdictions and their VAT rates.
Sweden is not one of the new +- 40 sales tax/VAT jurisdictions now added to Patreon. They have always charged their 25%, no matter if it is a donation or not. So, there is nothing that we can do about that. It is the regulations from your country.
Take a look if there is anything else suitable for your donation: /contact-and-donations/
Any other cryptocurrency besides Bitcoin is also fine of course. Just let me know first and I can give you an address.
Thank you! I just found that PP has this function so I have now signed up for USD 15 monthly :) .

Thank-you and blessings!
