Dear world community!
70 years ago the extraordinary efforts of tens of nations put an end to the most horrible and biggest scale armed conflict for the whole history of mankind- WWII&
Our soil was bloody arena of hard warfare actions. On the very Ukrainian land almost half of all strategical defensive and offensive operations of East European theater of military operations took place, just in Ukraine more then half of Nazi troops were crushed.
We have our own very mournful account of lost peoples in that tragedy. That war, by various estimates cost Ukraine from 8 to 10 million of lives.
Imperishable and light memory to the dead !
Ukrainians bravely battled with the enemy in the ranks of Red Army, soviet partisans and underground fighters, regular armies of Anti-Hitler coalition French, Slovak and other resistance movements, Hundred thousands of Ukrainian patriots were fighting in the ranks of Ukrainian Resistance Army.
Close to 2,5 millions our citizens were awarded by medals for heroic exploits, both civilian and military. For exceptional courage, more then 2000 were awarded by the rank of the Hero of the Soviet Union. Three times Hero was legendary Ivan Kozhedub, two times Heroes – another 32 Ukrainians. The Victory flag was raised on top of Reichstag building first by our fellow countryman Olexij Berest. A lot of native Ukrainians were on high positions in Red Army command. One of them was Hero of Ukraine, lieutenant-general Kuzma Derevyanko, he was awarded posthumously, for for courage, devotion and diplomatic efforts on post-war settlement of the international relations.
As a recognition of a powerful contribution of our people to the Victory over Nazism, Ukraine was granted the right to became a country -founder of United Nations Organization.
Ukrainian people paid a very high price for its freedom. Every Ukrainian family their personal history of that war and post-war reconstruction. Their stories about heroic fights, life under occupation, evacuation, concentration camps, NASA slavery, terror, famine, Stalin’s repressions, are passed from generation to generation and became National Memory. During WWII, the whole territory of modern Ukraine was occupied by the Nazi and their allies, more then 700 Ukrainian cities, tens of thousands of villages, factories, cultural objects and spiritual objects were destroyed.
More then 3,5 million of our fellow countrymen were displaced to the East – our best workers and specialists of a national economy, 550 industrial factories tens of High Schools, theaters, museums. Most of those factories were and remained on the territory of modern Russian Federation.
WWII is not only deep wound on human civilization. Its also a hard lesson, but conclusions were drawn not by all.
The question of peace and war is still a top priority of international and European agenda.
The Russian Federation has cynically crushed International Law by annexing Crimea and fire a conflict in Donbass, nowadays again destroying system of European and global security.
Impertinent Russian aggression is a threat not only to Ukraine, but for the whole civilized mankind, its security and stability.
The bloody lessons of WWII should not be vain. The aggressor can be stopped only by united efforts, as it was a case 70 years ago.
Ukraine is supported now most of global end European leaders, help that we permanently feel during the time of hardship for us, demonstrate that international community understand hopelessness of a policy of appeasement of an aggressor.
This is why, today when we celebrate 70th Anniversary of the end of World War II and remembering of millions of dead people, we are calling all nations of the free world resolutely to stand together in united front against Russian aggressor which commence undeclared ‘hybrid” war against sovereign Ukraine.
Democratic world must put maximum efforts to recover destroyed system of International order and return trust to International Law.
Today, I want separately address war veterans, members of liberation movement, anti-terrorist operation in Donbass and Luhansk regions, to all who defending our country with arms.
Memory about feat of our grandfathers during WWII and today’s fight for sovereignty and territorial integrity of our country today, as never before, united Ukrainian people. This memory was and will be sacred to all of us.
I am convinced that spirit aspiration of Ukrainian people to built sovereign European country and solidarity of all people of the world in resistance to aggression will lead to restoring peace and will provide successful development of Ukraine.
Mr.Poroshenko needs a psychiatric help as an emergency! If NO Russian army would help the Jewish people to be saved from the concentration camps, he wouldn’t be alive today.
Even it was the Russian nation who has sacrificed their lives for the totally strange nations and Jewish people. Nobody from Israel came to say thank you on the day celebrating the end of WWII.
This is nothing just a clear picture of the pure betrayal.

No sovereignty whatsoever is being tolerated there. It reads more like: “We the heroic heroes of Ukrainian heroes won the war against Hitler, and not only saved the planet but also Russia, but she doesn’t thank us our honorable deeds and suffering, although Ukraine rescued Russia. When I first read this statement from the Great Leader of Ukraine himself, i had the strong urge to type about their “heroes” and heroes, defense and liberation of Ukraine, defense of Sevastopol and its liberation ,about crossing the Dnepr, and about the liberation of a city that which (again) has to suffer Nazi presence. But I remebered something so I will not.
When Germans were being forced out from Ukraine they plundered the land, harvesting or burning the wheat and cash crops, transporting or slaughtering livestock, destroying towns and villages; mines and factories, and deporting population as forced labor to Germany or killing them outright. Of course, they destroyed roads, railways and bridges. They did everything to stop or slow down Red Army. Even resorting to things such as this( I think this is from Michael Jones book, Total War: From Stalingrad to Berlin).They even tried to spread typhus among Red Army by using methods like this. They would infect children( up from toddlers) with typhus and then leave them in unguarded camps, without food or shelter. And how did you think “Hundred thousands of Ukrainian patriots were fighting in the ranks of Ukrainian Resistance Army” welcomed the Red army, which bled while liberating “their” country from their dear German allies? How did they welcome their compatriot Ukrainian and other Red army soldiers? They hid and started killing families of Ukrainian soldiers who joined Red Army, killing rear area soldiers, continued killing Polish civilians, they even killed General Vatutin( who Poroshenko “forgot” to mention) who led the liberation of their country.
All those who died for Nazi-free Ukraine would now be turning in their graves if they knew who speaks about them and with who he is comparing them to.
I need help. I am on a European internet site where it is denied there was a coup in the Ukrainian Rada. All links from early 2014 are appreciated. I saw members of Rada vote for members who where not present. This is very important.

I may be wrong,but I think Putin said something very important on Ukraine today.I don’t think Putin is much “into” casual chitter-chatter and small talk.So I found this statement of his,possibly very telling.I think he just called on the Ukrainians to overthrow the junta (without exactly saying it).This is the main part of the report:
“President Vladimir Putin has said that the further development of the Ukrainian crisis depended on the patience of the Ukrainian people, who might one day decide to end the “bacchanalia” performed by the Kiev regime.
“This does not depend on us, this depends on Ukraine itself and on the Ukrainian people – on how long the Ukrainian people will be able to put up with this bacchanalia,” Putin said when asked by reporters if he had an opinion on future development of the events in Ukraine.
Putin added that in his view the Ukrainian people had reason to be discontent.
“I consider it an insult to the Ukrainian people that their country has been put under foreign management – all key positions in the government and now in regional administrations are now occupied by foreigners. Is it possible that Ukraine is lacking civilized and honest people and qualified managers? I think there are such people in this country.”
At the same time the president expressed confidence that eventually Ukraine will overcome the current political and economic crisis.
“I am sure that despite all difficulties of the current period the situation in Ukraine will also become normal and Ukraine will develop in a positive direction and move away from this disgraceful practice when a huge European country is being put under external management,” he said, adding that one day the Ukrainian people will give a due estimation to the current state of events.”

yes, if the Ukraines in Kiev would begin to really fight, Russia in Donbass would probably be there too.
High tension. The Right Sector wants the war that the Minsk agreement prevents. The people have had it with Kiev. When the people move on the Rada so will the Right Sector. Then the Military has to split in essence-another civil war has to take place. The Donbass can move on Kiev and Unite the Country under circumstances sympathetic to Russia. Germany and France are Guarantors of the Minsk Agreement. The US would want the Right Sector to prevail and move on the Donbass draw Russia into the war so that Europe goes up in flames once again. The fly in the ointment is MInsk. As we can see things are not going well for the PNAC’ers. The EU is in tatters and in their hearts they know it is due to their own subservience. The war in the ME is coming home in the form of refugee’s. Sanctions are taking their toll on the EU already in economic crisis. Germany just got it’s Nord 2. The US is in election mode and will need a false flag at home to start a major offensive in Syria as boots on the ground now will cause civil unrest. And here I thought Pornoshenko had sales of his chocolate products in Russia. If so it appears he either wishes to end this situation or someone else is writing his speeches for him and getting him to read them out. I am surprised he has survived as long as he has.

Poroshenko is of Jewish background.He supposedly either converted or was raised a Christian (I’m not sure which).His wife is Christian,and I believe he took her family name as his own (his Jewish name was Valzman or Walzman I believe).So I’m not sure the answer to your question actually.In the “ethnic” sense,he would be Jewish-Ukrainian.But in the religious way of looking at it,he would be Christian-Ukrainian.And if that isn’t confusing enough,he speaks Russian better than Ukrainian (and used to speak it more than Ukrainian).But mostly lived in West Ukraine.Nothing about “Ukrainian” identity is easy.
