Most of us will need the translated version.

    • Sideshow Bob on September 20, 2022  ·  at 2:17 pm EST/EDT

      There are captions.

When I read this headline the other day, I assured myself that Europe just does not know when to quit. Russia appears more to be the sideshow or scapegoat to blame for the failure of Europe. Without Russia, government would have to shoulder the blame for the failure that was coming anyway.

When the pain is just too great to bear, the new non debt monetary system will be unveiled. The new money will be used to pay off the debts of the old monetary system. Europe will then need to be rebuilt under the new Build Back Better plan!

        Crazy times.

        • Kapricorn4 on September 20, 2022  ·  at 9:58 pm EST/EDT

          @bert

You write “The new money (debt free) will be used to pay off the debts of the old monetary system.”

But this would mean that the money supply would be doubled

the old money + new money

So there would have to be some means of getting rid of the old money.

          Tax it at 90% ?

          • bertdilbert on September 20, 2022  ·  at 10:53 pm EST/EDT

Historically, Germany is well versed in printing money to pay debts. The problem last time was it took a wheelbarrow of money to purchase a loaf of bread. With digital money, the burden of lugging around a monetary rickshaw will be eliminated.

            • kjell108 on September 21, 2022  ·  at 4:46 am EST/EDT

To pay war reparation at the level of when you earn $2 you pay $1 to UK / France.

        • BM on September 23, 2022  ·  at 6:27 am EST/EDT

The new money will be used to pay off the debts of the old monetary system.

Not as I understand it! Those countries with toxic US$ debts will be able to write them off (not by the debt holders’ choice of course! – they will have no choice!) and borrow new, lower, sustainably structured non-$ debts under the multipolar order to make their economies sustainably productive.

Why should illegitimate toxic debts be repaid in US$?

Furthermore whilst the old debts are based on perpetual debt and infinite extraction, the new debts are based on mutual win-win sustainable production of real assets.

          • BM on September 23, 2022  ·  at 8:13 am EST/EDT

How will it all end up? Here’s my hypothesis:

Just as the EU keeps doubling down, Russia will continue to deflect each strike masterfully back on the perpetrators. Europeans this winter will be very cold, hungry, broke, unemployed, many will become homeless – and very very angry. That anger will be directed primarily at the EU elites themselves and at the USA, not at Russia. As the EU regimes ratchet up totalitarian repression, the masses will get ever angrier and angrier, and as they become more and more desperate they will come out onto the streets with pitchforks in overwhelming numbers. The military will come onto the streets and will shoot to kill – but some units will change sides, it will get very nasty. Eventually the masses will prevail and a new order will be installed (how the new order will be is another matter – maybe better, maybe not).

The new regimes in the southern European countries (Italy, Spain etc) will unilaterally renounce toxic US$ and € debt, with support from Russia and China, and will switch to the multilateral financial order. As a result, German banks will immediately become bankrupt. Russia will then buy up all the ruins of German industry at one or two cents on the Euro, rebuild them with entirely Russia-based supply chains to supply markets in Eurasia, and re-train/re-employ skilled German labour on much more equitable terms than under the totalitarian EU regimes. After a long and difficult period, the new Europe will slowly flourish as an integral part of Eurasia.

There is a YouTube video in English: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TCte-wuF0Wg
Cook firewood and bourgeois! Germany’s decision to confiscate Rosneft ended in disaster

I didn’t check whether it is 100% identical, the video is a bit shorter than the Russian version above.

      • BM on September 23, 2022  ·  at 5:40 am EST/EDT

Thanks for the link, I downloaded both. The content is the same, and it looks like they were probably produced by the same organisation. The text seems to be the same, but with a slightly different flavour of translation. It is quite nice to watch the English language one first, and then immediately after the Russian one with subtitles.

      • BM on September 23, 2022  ·  at 6:08 am EST/EDT

Typo in the subtitles at 4’03” : “revenue in 2021 rose to $337.5 billion, up 38% in 2021”

It seems it should be “revenue in 2022 rose to $337.5 billion, up 38% from 2021″ or something like that.

        —–

0’10”: “Today we will discuss how Scholz cheats the Germans and how he brings Germany to the bankruptsy.”
        …
comparing what Scholz does to Germany/the EU with what Yeltsin did to the Soviet Union
        …
        (quoting the revenues above)
4’05”: “Therefore everything that is happening in Europe, clearly cannot be called “sanctions against Russia”. This is a stupid fairy tale for naive Europeans, so that they would not be able to see that they are, in fact, destroying their own economy, not ours. If they guess the truth, they will rebel and then take to the streets en masse. In such a delicatescheming [sic], a silence and distraction are needed to divert attention to something else. Military action in the “Zone 404″ (Ukraine) is just such a distraction. The leadership of the European Union points the finger at the bad Russians, saying that they must be punished at any cost. And under this pretext Europeans are slowly destroying the European economy for the benefit of the United States.”

        Brilliant! Says it all.

        —-

My guess is that both versions were prepared by a third party (Politics Every Day) from a Rosneft company document:

4’48” “This diagram shows Druzhba oil pipline …”

        – yet the diagram in question is not shown in either video version!

        Brilliant videos anyway.

  2. WTFUD on September 20, 2022  ·  at 2:28 pm EST/EDT

The Germans helped install the 3 US stooges, Habeck, Scholz and Baerbock, well, that’s their prerogative.

Now deal with the consequences, put up (hang those scum for treason) or shut up.

    • K.S. on September 20, 2022  ·  at 8:14 pm EST/EDT

It’s easy to blame the defenseless. Sure plenty of people voted for the 3 stooges, just like in the US people actually voted for Brandon. The power of the media, institutions and social media pressure are overwhelming and many people are completely in thrall to it. Those who are not, are censored, de-platformed and cancelled. Then there’s dominion and other forms of voter fraud. The powerful get their way most of the time. Let’s pile the scorn on them, not on those under their boot.

      • Carol on September 21, 2022  ·  at 3:40 am EST/EDT

These poor defenseless people have voted for the destruction of their own country, for the third time. They must be gluttons for punishment. Without these poor defenseless people, it could never happen.so it must be what they wanted.

The media and (anti)social media pressure is not overwhelming if you don’t take any notice of it and use your brain.

        • BM on September 23, 2022  ·  at 6:11 am EST/EDT

As Goebels said (roughly paraphrased from memory): “It doesn’t matter what the masses think, they can be lead through propaganda to doe whatever we want”.

Sorry, I will not manually read fleeting subtitles on a tiny smartphone screen.

Please put the text of the subtitles into a format that is readable, thank you.

After Lugansk, Donesk and Zaproza ascend to membership within the Russian Federation, I hope Motorola and Givey receive some Hero of Russia award. (If anyone has the clip of the artillery shell going off, and Givey lights a cigarette off its shrapnel, please post)

The war will never end, until the ‘Global South’ stop funding the war on themselves by taking and holding the US Dollar and subsidiary currency I-owe-you-nothing’s for real goods and services.

I wish the best for Russia, and I wish them Rooskies and the rest of the shit-hole countries stop propping up the clique that has taken over the Federal Government of the USA, by taking I-owe-you-nothing notes that fund the monstrosity arrayed against the little people of the US.

    • repsinec on September 21, 2022  ·  at 10:47 am EST/EDT

I couldn’t agree more: the entire World subsidises it’s own subjugation at the hands of the hegemon by buying AAA-rated junk US government bonds, like some sort of obscene uroboros, and this has to end. As for the “little people of the US”, they have lived the high life for over seven decades now on the backs of the people and resources of the Third World and deserve no sympathy whatsoever – it’s about time they realised just how much suffering their “American Dream” has caused throughout the World.

Protection from reality by belonging to a party

The more powerful the party, the greater the protection. However, if the party has mutated into a criminal gang of unscrupulous idiots, the protection from reality could be endangered.
Follow-up question: Which party provides the best protection from reality? Is it that of N. Pelosi and A. Baerbock?
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HrYGfvf7N9Y&t=4s

PS: By reality – or truth – one could understand the agreement (correspondence, consensus) of idea and object. In order to guarantee the protection against reality, however, agreement between idea and object can no longer exist in certainty and freedom from contradiction or conclusive connections, but only as arbitrariness and as belief.

Suggestion: If the Pelosi/Baerbock party does not like an independent Russia, perhaps it should look for another world.

This is EXACTLY what Jorge Vilches has been explaining in this site for several months.

    Kudos to him!

    • Jorge Vilches on September 20, 2022  ·  at 5:31 pm EST/EDT

      Thanks Andrés !
And… sorry to say so myself… and as conceited as it may sound…(but honest it is NOT) I also happen to agree both with the video and how it matches my own previous analysis already published months ago in The Saker. But this is not about me at all. No, no way, noooooo….
This is about hundreds of millions of people directly affected in Europe all the way from Dublin to Moscow… and billions more indirectly affected throughout the rest of the world.

I could add TONS to the discussion of this topic trust me, but right now I dare to add only a couple of observations.
      (1) The video accepts comments and suggests so explicitly. I am not internet savvy (old man Jorge) but maybe someone reading this that does know how to do it please submit a couple few of my articles as “Comments” most specially the single one on the SCHWEDT refinery specifically addressed in the video regarding the Druzbha pipeline etc etc

      (2) I beg to differ with the video on something which actually is much MUCH WORSE than what the video says. I hereby refer to the REFINERY problem. The video addresses only the supposed high COST of reconverting German refineries to new non-Russian blend oils etc etc.
True enough, but I also go FAR beyond and warn about the IM-possibility of reconverting many refineries in any way shape or form due to the sheer LACK of constant supply of the right type of medium-light sweet non-Russian oils which simply do not exist and that Germany and Europe need for , for example, diesel fuels !!! The Russian Urals blend is unique not only because of its proven quality and price and reliable delivery etc etc etc etc but also and most specially because of its sheer ABUNDANCE that nobody else has on planet Earth. So Germany may possibly find a 5-year truly BAD supply contract with whomever xxx from somewhere but at best only for, say, a couple of its refineries, you follow ? But but but there is NO substitute at any price for the humongous volume of constant quality Urals blend that Russia has been supplying to Europe !!! The same goes for nat-gas something already confirmed by the President of QATAR declaring it is impossible to replace the sheer volume of Russian nat-gas.

Germany has been an authoritarian state since Merkel used the Hate Speech laws to halt any criticism of her immigration policy in 2015. The governments of Merkel and Scholze have been ruthless about crushing any opposition to their Corona virus policies. In this atmosphere of authoritarianism and conformity, that all rational analysis has been effectively banned from public discussion. Germany is going straight into the ditch because of this.

Germany has been occupied and controlled since last war. Thw secret RAND report confirms it.

Berlin Holocaust memorial in the middle of Berlin ??:
      – The memorial is located on Cora-Berliner-Straße 1, 10117 in Berlin, a city with one of the largest Jewish populations in Europe before the Second World War.[8] Adjacent to the Tiergarten, it is centrally located in Berlin’s Friedrichstadt district, close to the Reichstag building and the Brandenburg Gate.[9] The monument is situated on the former location of the Berlin Wall.

Hitler’s WWII residence has been shut off from public – it is a pile of rubble. Instead we will find a Holocaust museum close by.

It’s what the West has been itching for but they may come to regret it. It’s only when British (and other nations) sons, fathers, brothers start receiving their conscription letters and returning home in body bags (if they’re lucky) they might suddenly realise what’s happening, but not before.

All members of the “elected” government of the Federal Republic have taken an oath of office; this states that they swear to keep harm from the German people. This oath of office is constantly broken.
Unfortunately, too few people see it that way, since our people have been brainwashed for over 70 or 30 years. I wish from the bottom of my heart that the great awakening (how do you spell Awaken in English?) will finally begin. If the so-called “blackout” really comes, few people are prepared for it. It always hits the poor and the weak first. In our environment on the flat country many people are prepared. Personally, I try to carefully enlighten people in conversations.

    • Fred on September 21, 2022  ·  at 3:17 am EST/EDT

I used to wish for the “great awakening” too, but these days I’m a realist/cynic and instead I’m waiting for the “great die-off”.

Civilisations all follow the same trajectory – rise and fall – because they’re all made up of humans whose basic nature doesn’t change. Current per capita consumption in the West is approx. double that of 1970. In theory we could all shrink back our consumption gracefully and make do with (a lot) less. How many people have you seen willingly do that?

With a shrinking energy and resource base and growing population, there’s only one possible outcome in this physical reality, assuming you believe the laws of physics are fixed.

Whether there are other, let’s say spiritual realities to follow this one is the $64,000 question.

  12. Robert Shule on September 21, 2022  ·  at 12:59 am EST/EDT

I feel the part that is missing in these analysis of German energy policy is the “Greenie” perspective.
Yes, there are many in Germany who think getting away from oil and gas consumption is a good thing, and don’t mind a little chill in the Winter for the sake of the cause. Most of the West is pretty glutton when it comes to energy consumption, and cutting back a bit would do them well. Germany may surprise everybody. They got a lot thick blankets, and good wool sweaters.

I understand Russia also has a lot of woodland, and open space to plant even more woodland. Putin would do well if he would also offer up some “carbon credits” along with his gas. Now that would be an offer that even a Greenie would not pass up.

By the way, I had an aunt (who since passed on) who having little money went to the German government for some help to stay warm in the winter. The government gave her a heating allowance which she then used to buy a ticket for a trip to Majorca where she spent the winter with some friends. Upon return, the government questioned her about it; the money was to be spent on heating oil. She replied, “no”, there was no stipulation on how she was to stay warm. Moral of the story; there is more than one way to skin a cat.

    • kjell108 on September 21, 2022  ·  at 3:01 am EST/EDT

CO2 is the lifeblood of vegetation. Once there was 4 times more CO2 in atmosphere. To make more food Earth needs more CO2 = factories that makes CO2.
To make more food Earth have to be warmer. Irrigation requires more use of fossile fuel.

No surprise there. Ok, the Germans confiscated Rosneft’s refineries, but without the the russian oil to feed them those refineries are just a bunch of useless tech lying around. And I’m pretty sure that those refineries were designed and built to process russian’s brands of oil. There’s a very high probability that retooling of the Rosneft’s refineries for other brands of oil would be as expensive as building a new refinery.

I read the captions on this article this morning, and most of the comments, and agree with almost all of them. I even agree with whoever found them extremely difficult to read them on his mobile phone. I have got a PC, connected to a very large screen. I have already received a ton of smokeless coal, and had the chimney sweep round (admittedly a few years ago), but it still works O.K.

Its a bit daft, when there is a supposed shortage of energy (I don’t believe a word) and enough nuclear bombs, to kill almost everyone. (I’m afraid that is probably true).

    Good luck.

We are close to the main target (the latest lunatic – I didn’t vote for her. In fact hardly anyone did. The Queen dropped dead shortly after meeting her. – i can understand that.)

I live in the Midwest United States and I and my neighbor/friend have been piling up the firewood, anticipating god only knows what comes next. He purchased an efficient fireplace insert from the Amish, I have a new stove which still needs a flue in a difficult spot. I am out of summer, will have to wait for spring to install, and think we will still have natural gas this winter, and that is looking better since the joke of supplying all of Europe with this fracked gas is rapidly falling apart. Fracking here is based upon a financing Ponzi scheme where it has never really been very profitable and the banks just keep rolling over the debts. With any sort of serious economic downturn, as everyone here is expecting, the fracking scheme will fall apart. What then ? Where does the US then get natural gas ? Everything seems precarious and two very important commodities are fuel for nuclear power generators of electricity and diesel that runs our trucking fleets and most trains. Oh gooly gee, guess who hold the cards in that match vs Russia and the US ? LOL not funny. Then these idiots over here are threatening the golden goose called China where just about anything one wants to buy these days is made. Consumer goods could disappear in a heartbeat. So, just saying, looking ahead at things here in the glorious mighty United States, I am prepping hard to live completely off grid, anticipating and expecting the worst to come, I think next year will be rough and we are headed back to the Pioneer days, Daniel Boone here I come.

You live in a big country – Midwest United States

I live about 12 miles from the Centre of London…

      I have done the nukemap..

I reckon if Moscow (or New York) nukes Central London , with one bomb, we might just about survive

      https://nukemap.org/nukemap/

There is no shortage of energy, in The USA, or The UK, or Europe or Russia – Africa, where they are builing pipelines, from Nigeria to Morroco, and the first parts are already working between Nigeria, and the next country…

It doesn’t matter where you live, these Evil Psychopaths are Trying to Kill Both You and Me, and our Families if we have any left

      Don’t blame The Russians…

It is not The Russians who are trying to Kill Us

It is mainly Your American Neocon Psychopaths IMHO

As you live in the USA, can’t you do the job for us…defend us.

Cos they are also killing you.

And All American and British and European Cultures and Lives

They are Trying to Depopulate The Human Race

Unlike normal American Boys & Girls

The American neocons are not nice..

Even The Israelis don’t like them

      They are insane

      Psycho Killers

They ENJOY Killing people for Fun

      Curse of The Human Race.

      Tony

        Paul Craig Roberts Aug 19:

        – Bankruptcies in Europe are exploding. In the past three months bankruptcies are up 11.9% in Denmark, 14.7% in Belgium and 74.4% in Latvia.
        – Meanwhile, Russia is benefitting from high energy prices and a strong ruble.
        – The question is: Is the real target of Washington’s sanctions Russia, or is Washington making Europe even more subservient to Washington’s domination by driving down the European economies?
        https://www.paulcraigroberts.org/2022/08/19/is-russia-or-europe-the-target-of-washingtons-sanctions/

Now that question has been solved

If it comes to it (and I think the chances seem quite high), I think Russia will use massive CONVENTIONAL weapons to destroy US military capability including US nuclear weapons. I believe they probably have that capability.

The whole point about nuclear weapons is the massive explosion to compensate for weak targetting: today nuclear weapons are obsolete and unnecessary. With high precision weapons Russia can do a more effective job with massively less collateral. There is ZERO STRATEGIC ADVANTAGE in using nuclear and massive disadvantage. The only problem is blocking all the US nuclear weapons in time.
