Dear friends,
A couple of things.
First, my post yesterday about my utter disgust with the West’s attitude resulted in well over FOUR HUNDRED comments overnight. And an avalanche of emails! I only had the time to skim the comments, but I will absolutely read every single one of them this afternoon. I might write up a post to answer some of them, or all of them together, we shall see. But a huge THANK YOU!!! to all those who commented, your LACK of indifference give me courage and restores some faith in my fellow human beings.
Second, I am getting a steady stream of emails and I cannot answer them anymore. I am very very sorry, but until the war in the Ukraine comes to some kind of equilibrium, I will be way too swamped to answer private emails. I ask for your patience and understanding.
Third, it appears that the operational cauldron which will entrap the entire Ukie force in the Donbass is in the process of being finalized. According to recent news, only about 100km separate the northern pincer from the southern one, and since Russian MRLS can reach much further, this means that the Ukie forces are already blocked by fire (meaning that while they still can break through, they will do that under constant Russian fire) and that the encirclement will be completed if not today, then by tomorrow. Take a look at this map:
What you see here is, in red, the advance of the Russian pincers from the north and the south. The think black line is the section of the front through which the Ukies can still run, but it is already under fire from both the north and the south. As soon the Russian force meet somewhere along that lack line, then the operational cauldron will be shut. The yellow line indicate the limits of that operational cauldron which will have about 10-12 Ukrainian BRIGADES entirely cut off and surrounded.
By the way, the Nazi forces in Mariupol are also surrounded, but they decided to fight to their last breath, which would be fine by me if there was not a huge amount of civilians, including civilians herded into bunkers which, in reality, offer them no protection. The Russians could use a large FAE bomb to destroy the Nazis defenses in one strike, but the cost in human lives would be huge. It is possible that the Russians will have to liberate Mariupol the hard way: by sending in special urban assault teams, like what they did in Grozny during the 2nd Chechen war. If so, that will mean that the Russian command has decided to accept many more Russian casualties as a price to pay to save as many civilians as possible. What a horrible decision to have to make…
As for Kiev, the Russians are concentrating forces all around the city, but are not moving in yet, to my great relief.
Finally, Kharkov is being cleaned up by mopping up operations. Once that city is secure, there are rumors that some kind of government will be proclaimed there. Let’s wait and see.
A few practical matters:
- The blogs loads very slowly. Yes, I know, this is due to the huge increase in visitors and there is nothing much we can do. So far, we have not yet detected a deliberate DDoS attack, just a HUGE increase in readership.
- Emails: as I mentioned above, it will be impossible for me to reply to private emails until the situation in the Ukraine stabilizes itself, at least to some degree.
- Other sources: right now I recommend Moon of Alabama (since Andrei Martyanov is on holidays). Other putatively pro-Russians website have produced a lot of clickbait recently and they seem to ally themselves to the Russian 6th column. So caveat emptor, big time! :-)
I hope to produce a report by the end of the afternoon.
Andrei
the Russians are acting correctly and wisely. Putin is a geopolitical chess genius, and he knows militarism. the western media is creating a false situation and reality about ukraine. They are accusing and judging Russia unfairly. I ask about Hiroshima and Nagasaki… who got a court of war for this? I ask about Panama… who got a court of war for this? I ask Yugoslavia… who got a court of war for bombing? I ask about 500,000 deaths in Iraq, who got a war court for that? I ask about the crimes of Libya? Who has a court of war for that? I ask for Vietnam? Who has a court of war for that? Which conflict above was resolved by the UN? It is not the West that decides on punishment and judgment. They have no morals and are hypocrites. The Russians will win. By studying hard, and with culture above technicality, we can overcome the decadent West.
Please keep in your prayers those of us living in the west who can clearly see the duplicity and malevolence of our western governments.
Indeed. It starts to feel really suffocating in the west. Maybe this pain will help open some eyes, even it will be too little, too late.
@A
Talking about “suffocation”, the Canadian Minister of Defense said today ” that Canada will do even more to suffocate” Russia. They intend to “work” with NATO in the process of “suffocation”.
There is such “a palpable” hate in the air!
Help! Discouraged Quebecker here… Please, show me a Canadian analyst or commentator who isn’t brainwashed by NATO propaganda! I’ll take anything, a Youtuber, a blogger… tell me I’m not alone! Au secours! at least in France, ils ont le Canard Réfractaire… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FapkmgNlaYk But nothing else this side of the Atlantic sadly…
le Canard Réfractaire is leftist, far behind the culture/knowledge of Xavier Moreau (Stratpol)

merci
I don’t know about analysts, but there are enough Canadians asking direct questions. Many were brought out during recent protests.
They exist – lots of ex-military – who understand propaganda are asking the tough questions.
Dear kindred spirit, je suis désolée comme vous..I feel suffocated by the way no one understands the real situation…I am losing friends who are totally brainwashed and give arguments so shallow and hypocritical I see no usefulness in pursuing any conversation. I AM SO SAD…well…. you’re not alone and neither am I. THANKS
Yes, the isolation caused by disagreeing with the party-line/state propaganda narrative is distressing. I have friends and colleagues from the Eastern blockt saying that the totalitarian brainwashing is worse here because people believe they are being told the truth by the media, whereas in the Communist block, everyone knew they were lies.
When the west chose to back the entirely of Zone B in a corner, the only options left is to fight outside of the corner.
The 99% of the West is headed for civil war, and the resistance is fragmented entirely. CIA is actively posing as the defunct and fragmented Anonymous.
Everybody that looks up to celebrity is being fed lies from the propagandists because hollywood is run by the CIA.
Once in a while you’ll get an athlete that says “Ukraine is out brother and peace should come before war” – this is true… but all actions to solve the conflict failed and liberation of Ukraine is the only course of action to take.
These people have so much contempt for Russia that they will not even thank Russia for “saving” their MSM propaganda for lack of viewership, and “saving” the careers of Biden/Trudeau/Johnson.
I have watched since 2014 with McCain, Gloria Nuland, Joe Biden and Soros. I watched as Ukraine tried to get NATO in but those Russian speakers would not agree. I saw them punish them and replace the President with Pig Porky. I saw them bomb Dunbass, burn people in Odessa. I see Nazi hold overs from WWII running the stupid Ukraine leaders. I saw Ukraine steal gas and cheat Russia many times even after reducing the debt to almost nothing. We live in a sick world and the Same Democrats fix an election and bash Trump relentlessly. There is no law in the US and we will all suffer the wrath of stupidity. God bless the Russian People in Russia and in the Ukraine.
You can find insights from Patrick Armstrong, former Canadian diplomat, military analyst, Russian expertise …
I was an analyst in the Canadian Department of National Defence specialising in the USSR/Russia. I started in the time of Chernenko and watched the whole thing develop. I was a Counsellor in the Canadian Embassy in Moscow 1993-1996. I retired in May 2008 and have been writing on Russia and related subjects on the Net ever since.
https://patrickarmstrong.ca/
I have almost stopped watching the MSM news, its not good for my health i get in such a rage.
Me too. Here in India, India Today, WION, and other TV channels toe the Western establishment line. No pretense of journalism. Outright finger wagging and editorializing. It all relies on the complete ignorance of history in the audience and a Pavlovian reaction to any alleged “ism” in the enemy du jour.
In India, you are lucky to have Mr M. K. BHADRAKUMAR. He is a retired diplomat. He is good but I do not agree with everything he says.
https://www.indianpunchline.com/
I have not watched it for 20 years and know I could not stomach it if I tried today. I read an article or two in the MS browser sometimes to gauge the public reaction as much as anything and that often ends up with me banned for a time in record time.
I am afraid that, at least here in Slovenia, things got suddenly out of hands with plebs, even many of my college friends, that I used to consider as intellectuals, are flagging them selves with Ukrainian maps, totally falling into western narrative and expressing full support with Ukrainians. As most, me too cares that Ukrainian civilians will not be harmed, but the sheer blindness of these people its gawd awful. They are literally illiterate handy idiots, who are about to pay 2 EUR per liter for gasoline for some stupid solidarity with Nazi regime in Kiev, who will have to choose cheap white bread instead of wholegrain, etc… and falling for words of mainstream politicians, even from the left side idiots (WHICH SHOULD BE F%$$#ing QUIET NOW!!!). It seems most of the people are totally oblivious from the 7 year bombings of Donbass, let alone those two teachers just recently killed by Nazis in Gorlovka. I am crying today for what has happened here with my fellow countrymen and even worse I think that people, who will stand out now, even speak out loud against Nazis in Ukraine will be pushed down, ostracized and probably expelled from daily life. I dare to say, that in the EU the terrain is being prepared for big war with Russia. And the sheep are literally going for it.
Hi,
you are not alone! The situation is even worse here in Italy, I suppose.
People have already been completely brain-washed for 2 years with covid, and more than 80% of them were happily persuaded by hammering MSM media to get 1, 2 or even 3 shots. Now what I see is a legion of zombies around me. Those covidiots (as we call them, here) have now replaced the covid story with the ucrainian story, as per instructions of MSM. I threw my TV out of the window 20 years ago, but It have seen in internet that italian news broadcast a video from a videogame passing it off as a heavy missile bombing by Russians. And this is not the only fake shit you can see and hear from MSM. Although MSM are scraping the bottom of the barrel here in Italy, I think the situation is not much better in the rest of western world. Politicians use the same words and attitudes all over the West, and this a tangible sign they are obeying some superior corporate entity. I really hope that Putin’s action in Ucraine is also indirectly going to break up this diabolic chain of command and restore some freedom for all of us, as well. I really invite all the people of the world to unite in a single effort aimed at internationalis vs. globalism.
Hi
I’m a long-term Trumper, a Brit living in Brazil, teacher and ex-academic, and new to this excellent community. I’m proud to say that Jair Bolsonaro has refused to sanction Russia, and that I am busily explaining the problem of Ukraine’s CIA biolabs etc to all of my ex-students on a news group in this still wonderfully free nation. I also combat WEF operatives and disseminate the radical anti globalist views found here on sites like TCW Defending Freedom and Telegram channels run by Yeadon, Monotti, Delingpole and others, as ‘Nicholas=VictoryofthePeople’. My best wishes to you all. Never give up!
Yeah, as soon as the mighty Janez army joins the fight, Shoigu will pull out the white flag and surrender. 2 euros per litre – if you can find any.
The EU has had it. It is game over for them. The US will have them for lunch, their last lunch but still the US will last a little bit longer than the EU. Good riddance to both.
That is not the only issue in regards to the crimes Azov is doing.
The newest Graham Phillips documentary shows Ultranationalists detaining, probably (attempted rape), and shooting at Ukrainians fleeing from the conflict… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FG1fuhKwXVA
It is truly disgusting behaviour, and these monsters must be cleansed from the earth.
Beautiful.
Great job Andrei. God bless.
You forgot WWII, the Germans where not the real culprit.
Yes, “put” the might “in”, only the force of resistence can stop the gringo-eurofascism! Justice the way Ernesto Che Guevara did! Saudacöes ao 247!!
First and foremost once again thanks to Mr Raesky and his crew for the awesome job here, and’d like to once again cut it straight: there have been no war trials like Nürnberg in all those enlisted cause the zapad wasn’t one of the judges. Simple as that. It was possible back in Nürnberg cause the “masters of the universe” detested the German nazis (not the Ukrainian nowadays though) and so there was no way out for them. But after that we had Gládio etc and the zapad always played the masters of the universe and American playbook. And once the US is the leader of the zapad and most of its other leaders follow the Americans humbly and stubbornly, that’s the main reason we haven’t had any military war trials for this corge for all those long years. But time is running out for them and maybe in my lifetime we’ll start seeing this american scum being trialed and possibly hanged in lampposts and after we’ll have fireworks throughout the zone B much like the Return of Jedi ending take commemorating the very end of the empire. This time it’ll be the Empire of Lies, and be sure it’s getting closer as I type it. Cheers from a scorching hot Vale do Ipiranga
Where’s the truth? Where is the lucidity?
BIDEN = trips over planes, sleeps at G7 meetings, is stimulant-driven, has Alzheimer’s, and his crack-using son Hunter admitted that the Ukrainian company that hired him called his name ‘gold’. His western partners don’t trust him.
MACRON = liked to warmly shake hands with Trump, former business banker, married his elderly teacher Simone de Beauvoir, suffers from revolts by French workers.
OLAF SCHOLZ = played the character “Smeagol Gollum” in the movie “The Lord of the Rings”, and was involved in the scandal of Wirecard, a German payment processing company that went bankrupt in 2020 after the revelation of illegal accounting practices. Accused of omission in the case and of not investing enough in the supervision of such companies. He won the election only because Merkel’s successor made a serious mistake. LOL
PUTIN = lawyer, lieutenant colonel, black belt in Judo, respected and admired by his Asian partners and has a daughter who is a PhD scientist making contributions to science.
My 2 cents goes to Putin. I believe him.
you forgot to add, Putin can play the piano too.

But so can Zelensky!

Putin has also a degree in Economics, no?
I thought Putin has a law degree
It seems likely to me that the present crisis may be the rock on which the UN is dashed to pieces.
“EU will send fighter jets to Ukraine”
I swear: Citizens of the Union of Evil (EU) are dumb as a ‘block’ of stones… and with Death Wish too! lol
ANY elementary school kid can guess what would happen if a NUCLEAR ARMED Russian Bear was ‘cornered’ and had to fight a horde of bloodthirsty warriors for its existence?
What good will that do besides writing the script for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2?
If they fly in a no-fly-zone they can get a better look at nazi cannon fodder, and IF they do anything then WWIII is here!
It seems to me that all of this is wag the dog showboating, what is being hidden or move into place with this distraction? Destruction of bioweapons labs data in Ukraine, destruction of Project DEFUSE data, missiles going to Cuba/Nicaragua/Venezuela, turning 80% of Russian assets into crypto?
This is a very interesting time indeed.
What is being ‘sneaked in’ right now is the Global Digital ID – Deutsche Telecom has the contract apparently.
IMO everything else is a distraction and/or part of The Great Reset
Global ID + Digital Currency = End Game
Still waiting for Putin/Russia to reject the WEF….
no one took notice of my previous comment and link to Scwab (WEF) boasting about ‘his’ people in positions of power in canada. he also names putin as one of his. its on the you tube, easy to find.
Can you point to some sources? I am interested to read on these subjects. Thanks

Second try to post. Don’t know what went wrong.
Dear Friend Andrei, thanks for the updates.
We need to stay alert for the 6a columnists full time. They like to infiltrate and damage all the spaces …
The hypocrisy of the west and its allies is just so crass. Anyone and any entity are trotted out to say their piece – to condemn Russia’s “special military operation” in Ukraine – w/sanctions slapped down all over the place. The fear of man and/or the worship of mammon that explains or marks those who get behind the line w/the hegemononic hydra? Boycotts and sanctions are empty and meaningless as they are overused, although unpleasant but oh, so predictable and passe! The Russians are no wilting violets like cry-baby Americans.
Here is a link (hope it opens) :

The fact that Russia offloaded all of its US Treasury note should tell the west and minions that the bear is at least a mile ahead in its calculations for any eventuality. They would have foreseen that this day would come in Ukraine. Restraints and seemingly inexhaustible patience! Why? Because life is from God, and only unavoidably a last resort. They have clarity and precision – and the fear of God (is the beginning of wisdom), respect for human life and freedom! This is not a one-dimensional rubbish strategy but careful deliberation and planning. Whatever the lies and misinformation, or difficulties ahead Ukraine is not going to be another “Vietnam”.
1 Kings 22 tells of a foolish, godless King Ahab who heed not God’s messenger, Micaiah, who warned him that he would not return from a war he was intent on having, and was led to his demise by warmonggerng royal prophets. Will the west read the writings on the wall before the fireworks start in their backyards?
will putin shutoff the gas? why hasnt he already? why keep paying the ukies transit fees as theyre trying to kill you? why put up with german polish bs? is schroeder advising putin to do this – not shutoff the gas?
what happened to massive cyber ops?
why is the power and water still on in kyiv?
is russia serious or pretending to be serious?
putting nuclear forces on enhanced duty, whatever the that means, while ukies still get paid and have heat, economy, water and power does not seem complimentary.
i dont get it.
it is time for oleg deripaska to go away. permanently. he is auditioning for a job.
Man, c’mon, are you for real?
I know from trusted Brazilian friends that your deeds there in the mainstream media and also on youtube and social media for years now speak otherwise!
My friends and I simply don’t buy the fact that you are here, commenting on an independent geopolitical analysis site while believing in your own words. No way!
Thanks Saker for your cogent and brief synopsis. There is really no other source for legitimate information except Moon of Alabama. Sunday is a particularly hard day to get real news. And I for one refuse to listen to any of the BS being put forth by corporate media shills for DC, London, and NATO.
That said, I’d like your frank assessment on the possibility of nuclear war. Putin has leveled with the world, saying that he has raised the threat level and that Russia’s military, including its nuclear forces are on alert. So far, only the Pentagon has responded and they say that this is uncalled for but have guaranteed that they “can protect the American people.” LOL.
Truly this is a dangerous moment. But would love to understand how dangerous you believe it is. Are we at a point of hair trigger?
Thanks so much for all you do. And if it comes to a blinding end, I’ll catch up with you in the next world.
The Kansan
“can protect the American people.” LOL.
Lol. Yes, I’m sure that in between them calling their own citizens names (deplorables, basement dwellers, white people bad, etc, etc) they are working on protecting us…
Saker,
If you had to answer every email and comment, that would be a full time job in itself and we would be deprived from your work. I would rather read what you write. :)
“And if it comes to a blinding end, I’ll catch up with you in the next world.”
I will see you all there, too… no matter what the outcome. No doubt about that.
US officials to Politico: We asked the Russians to activate a communication channel to prevent a nuclear escalation, and we have not yet received a response.
https://www.politico.com/news/2022/02/27/pentagon-moscow-backchannel-escalation-00012107
But it does not means nuclear. There is first Hypersonic missile alert (whose Russia is the only country to have it operational) and after nuclear.
It come after Zelenski said he wants nuclear weapons at Munich last Sunday and be a nato member, and Friday Le Drian (foreign french minister) said Putin must understand that NATO is a nuclear alliance, Putin takes this step as reaction, he replied to these completely irresponsible statements.
Don’t we already have a “hotline” com channel between the White House and Kremlin? The problem is that sometimes Putin gets so fed up with BS that he does not answer the phone. I recall Obama once complaining about Putin not taking his calls, putting him on voice message.
I also recall Obama calling Putin an ‘Arse and a Jackass’, and Putin just smiled. Now what can Obama’s man do with that ‘jackass’ in the ‘Whitehouse’s Chinashop (Ukraine)?
A video has been posted, discussing the Burisma corruption with a couple of veiled witnesses. No doubt, this is causing JRB some lost sleep. Imagine if the eight years of corruption all came to light!
Liz Truss is threatening to expose Russian oligarchs – sure prez Putin is quacking in his boots! Also, on YT, at ‘nato too weak to face Russia,’ Scott Ritter has an interview.
About three hours ago, there was a 4th day update here with several comments and videos about destroyed MIG-29 at the Ivano-Frankivsk airfield and Gostomel Russian tank column heading to Kyiv, but later on it disappeared.
What was going on?
The Ukropas shot down their own plane and said it was RUF, but on close inspection of the downed plane’s insignia it proved to be their own plane, bad case of ‘friendly fire’
It is strange to see some people commenting on the speed of the Russian operation. It’s not fast enough they say? Seems to be very quick from my point of view. Double envelopment of the UAF has been discussed here months before the start of this. I was shocked how the UAF positioned their forces and thought it to be an historic blunder.
If you wish to know how long the U.S. has supported litteral Nazis in Ukraine please look into the Gehlen organization. The Azov battalion didn’t come out of nowhere but always has had the support of the US alphabet agencies. Look into it.
+Greifenberg
I read in Jim Stone’s web site where he commented on a CNN interview between wolf Blitzer and John Schutto, CNN anchor and correspondent in Ukraine. I had to look it up to see it for myself. Wolf literally praising the Ukranians of slowing down the Russians with Schiutto chimming in that the Uro Nazi competence caused the Russians to outrun their supply lines. Stone’s remark on that bantering among propagandists is that “when fighting a war, make sure you don’t kick butt so bad your supply lines can’t keep up!!! Yes, the truth has a way of seeping through the cracks.” I know Saker will get a kick out that comment.

A few comments:
RT and Sputnik both are under severe DDoS cyber attacks. They manage to break the attacks for a few hours, and then they go down again. I sometimes retain a connection via Tor browser, and sometimes not. Yes, many people asked in the comments, they will ask you to confirm that you are ‘human’ if you manage a connection. That is not strange.
All Russian governmental sites are under severe DDos cyber attacks. Same story.
Pavel from Telegram announced that he would close Russian and Ukrainian channels because of misinformation. That caused such an outcry that he said – OK – I’ll not do that, but please take information with a grain of salt as fakes abound.
That is our information environment – so please take note and do not ask us How to Get In. We are under the same constraints.

Just a kinder reminder: TOR is was never, is never or will never be a safe anonymity tool for public internet users.
TOR was created by US military for online covert operations, almost entirely funded by US government, marketed as an anonymity tool even it was nothing more than a military tool. https://www.reddit.com/r/TOR/comments/5yxzte/tor_was_created_by_us_intelligence_for_us/.
IIRC, TOR was orginally designed to help the “dissidents” in China to get access to “free world” and get their info outside China safely.
Some video clips from China’s Xinhua News jounalist in Kiev on Feb 26th, morning:
– https://www.bilibili.com/video/BV1dS4y1z7Bz?spm_id_from=333.999.0.0: Ukraine soliders stopped the jounalist to go to the subway station where a fight broke out yesterday evening, and forbad him to take photos;
– https://www.bilibili.com/video/BV1KS4y167pV?spm_id_from=333.999.0.0: The journalist then drove away to a gas/service station, where he exchanged $65 with a man at the station for 2000 Ukraine money and then filled his car and got some hot dogs.
– https://www.bilibili.com/video/BV1Br4y1r7Uo?spm_id_from=333.999.0.0: A day ago, the same journalist was searching for Nr. 95 or 92 gasoline, but there were none to be found. He then went to supermarket, where bread, water and meat/sausages were almost gone.
– https://www.bilibili.com/video/BV15P4y1c7bH?spm_id_from=333.999.0.0: Feb. 26 morning, a Chinese business man drives from his home at the suburb of Kiev to his office. Black smoke is the place where the fight taking place. He says people are calm, though the whole situation a bit scary.
No bombardment of civilian places, no destroy of the city.
Hope this gives some details about the situation on the ground, different to what the hysteric Western MSM says.
There is no bread or sausage at my local market in California
and no catfood at the (((Albertson)))-owned grocery store in my small north-central Utah town.
what does this portend?
It portends sharing enough of whatever food you can obtain with your kitties to keep them alive. It portends cats being once again valued for their hunting skills. I know people in a small Japanese village who remember during WWII praising the kitty for bringing in some protein for them. Make sure to stock up on what you think you might need for the next year or so.
It also portends a sharp reduction in the stray cat population.
lulu, I’m not looking for an anonomous connection. Just one that works for now, and Tor actually does it – sometimes. Right at the moment sites are down for me, and I can access them through Tor browser. For RT, I have to give my teeth away (grins) and count airplanes and bicycles in many boxes. And then they establish connection and I can keep it up.
What folks do not understand is that the Kremlin site is down, the Foreign Affairs site is down, and RT and Sputnik carries coverage from there.
But please feel free to ignore this.
I have to just use VPNs, this site does not let me use Tor to comment whatsoever because of wordfence.

Amarynth, hope you can open these two links. Above link has Konenshenko confirming that some Russian soldiers fell into the hands of inhumane ukronazis, and were tortured cruelly. We pray for strength, grace, and mercy for their deliverance one way or the other.

This link shows the humane treatment of Ukrainian soldiers in the hands of the Russians.
Hopefully word gets to many more Ukrainians to stand up w/the Russians for their freedom.
It may have been created by CIA Military – But the bottom line is that it can get you access to Websites that have been disabled by Individual countries. It is an essential tool & I believe an excellent way to gain access.
Can someone who speak Russian and/or French check this news that I saw on Chinese social media? https://www.bilibili.com/video/BV1mU4y1Z7zB?spm_id_from=333.999.0.0. It says a French journalist, Kristel Nean, told a Russian media that MSM would not report her interview with locals so as to deny Ukrainian army kills local people.
The story was on Sputnik. I think her last name was Neante…?
Use Yandex browser.
Type “RT Russian”. When the site front page opens clic on “Translate > English”.
Your problems connecting with RT and Sputnik may be related to your choice of browser:

Try using Brave browser. Works for me (mostly, YMMV).
Wouldn’t it be best for the Russians to wait on Mariupol, cut off all communications and supplies, force the Nazis to stew in their own juices, while events proceed apace elsewhere? The cauldron, the growing likelihood of a negotiated surrender, a new government backed by the parts of the army that are prepared to go with the new order? Give the Nazis plenty of time to think again, for fear to build, and for their unity and structure to break down. Then clean them out?
I think the Nazis are there for their last stand and they don’t care how many civilians they take with them. No matter what happens in the rest of Ukraine this situation is likely going to be a house to house operation. I have heard that Chechens are experts in such situations.
But why hurry it? They have Mariupol bottled up; the Ukrainian troops in the city are effectively out of the war; there’s nothing they can do except distract Russian troops and resources from other places where they are needed now. If the Russians end up needing to go house to house, they can do it next week or the week after. But they may not even need to if they give the Ukrainian troops time to be infected by defeatism.
Don’t be daft. The Neo-Nazi’s have likely prepared with months worth of food and ammunition. They intend to fight to the last. You can’t negotiate with hard-core radicals – they know they will all be tried for crimes against humanity anyway, since they are all part of the Azov Neo-Nazi group. They would rather die fighting.
Furthermore, the Azov Nazi’s in Mariupol are killing civilians and terrorizing them every single day. They intend to take as many innocent people down with them as they can. Video footage is all over the internet. They are pulling civilians out of cars and shooting entire families at point-blank range.
The operation to take Mariupol is being spearheaded directly by the DPR and LPR militia forces. They need to clean the city – it simply has to be done. The sooner they attack, the less civilians Azov will be able to murder before they are cleaned from the area. Yes, some people will die during the attack but that is not Russia’s fault – it is theirs for using human shields. Russia needs to document every war-crime Azov commits religiously so this information can be displayed to the world.
No mercy for Azov Nazi’s. Their day of reckoning and judgement has come. Never again will they terrorize the peoples of this planet. May the innocent people they take down with them on their way out undergo healing within the spiritual realms so their souls may rest in peace.
May the light of our Creator shine down on the brave and courageous souls taking on the Azov Nazi’s in Mariupol.
You could be perfectly right and I’d still be right. What price waiting? And who knows, maybe the Nazis aren’t so well-prepared and united as you think? They aren’t elites cadres of the SS, they’re much more like the disorganized rabble of brutes knows as the SA. Russians may well still need to go house to house, but the resistance isn’t likely to be up to Götterdämmerung standards.
Drop copies of Mein Kampf signed personally by Shitler. They will come out of hiding. Then open fire.
It’s a calculus of time. We are not privy to the myriad of interdependent complex information that must be digested, evaluated and acted on at the most optimal point in time. Multiple subterranean negotiations are taking place, export targets are probed, threats weighed. Given the stunning level of planning and execution so far, I have no doubt that the best such point will be selected.
The situation is dynamic and fluid and judging it adequately requires the highest mastery of politics, economics, social issues and military matters. To illustrate, I’ll list a few reasons why waiting might be necessary:
– There is an opening within the EU that is worth pursuing (doubtful).
– China needs to complete certain tasks in order to be able to co-ordinate with Russia.
– Agents inside Mariupol are aware of potential splits in the Nazi ranks – some are ready to surrender.
– The koltso (cauldron) needs to be completed.
– The time is being spent by covert reconnaissance teams who are pinpointing machine gun nests, mined buildings etc.
– OR – they are waiting for Ramzan’s boys who will dance zikr before they go for Azov’s heads.
– The fake negotiations are about to start and Russia is holding its horses symbolically. I think that once these fail, it will be an open season on the Uniate Bandera scum.
Both options are risky – but so is anything to do with war. I am confident that the Russian Stavka has this planned to the last detail (names, addresses, records and current location of most of these criminals). Let us be patient and optimistic – as far as possible. This is no amateur hour.
Of course
Yes but what if their food stocks get blown up?
You fasttrack their demise.
Perhaps my thinking isn’t very critical but I am curious nonetheless
They are way too friendly and would allow humanitarian aid and food into the city to not starve the civilians.
Which also means to feed the soldiers.
But i agree that there is no use in rushing it. The most important thing is to stop any possible supply from the outside, so that this won’t turn into some proxy-war scenario.
Okay, but what about the civilians?
The propaganda in Canada is unrelenting. Telus, the phone provider has secretly collected location info for 30+ million Canadians! Using ProtonVPN. Very uneasy living in Five Lies.
Western society is going to collapse before this is over. All these criminal politicians and rogue agencies are going to be forced to answer for their crimes in the end. What we are going to witness over the next few years will be a massive awakening of truth amongst the populations of western nations. This is inevitable.
How true; I give it 10 years with rising authoritarianism up to the collapse. As a “westerner” living in the US, you can clearly see the crumbling of institutions, the media, all branches of the gov’t, academia, and culture. The elites have not only been captured, but are now merged with those seeking to destroy what’s left of the “west.” The “Red Terror” has been unleashed on the US & Canada. Nothing makes sense; violence and loss of the respect for life fills the population centers. The rule of law has been destroyed. The USD is evaporating in value as the politicians dance in glee at the destruction. The people here are quiet, unwilling to show any signs of displeasure. The bread and circus will continue until the day of perdition arrives.
@someguy, there will never be any justice administered in the US to the war criminals who run the government. Never ever. The only exception that is possible is for a foreign country, perhaps Russia, to invade and occupy the country, and then set up war crimes tribunals. The US is thoroughly corrupt and justice incapable.
ProtonVPN is NOT neutral, it is supporting Ukraine: https://twitter.com/ProtonVPN/status/1497225455899918352?cxt=HHwWoICy-dKnm8cpAAAA
That is being neutral. Their business is based on privacy (of course it may be a honey trap), and it is not addressing any particular group of journalists.
What do you expect from the Swiss, they are fully NWO prostitutes.
The gangsters in Brussels have spoken, (‘Madame’)VDL and HIV (B), all Russian (state) media will be shut down. Long live democracy and freedom of the press! Borrel, even spoke of a Biblical Wall, whatever this wimp wanted to express. EU is in hara-kiri mode.
Back when the Russian officers studied Operation Uranus back in Introductory classes at war college, I’m betting they never imagined that they would face a second opponent who’s deployments were so insane as to let them pull it off again during their own careers.
$$$$$$$$$$
My guess is still that the Russians have learned a lot since Grozny, and that the various cities, beginning with Mariupol, will look more like the flushing out of the isis terrorists from the pockets in Syria. The fanatics seem pretty much the same, with only a difference in hair and beard styles.
$$$$$$$$$
Everyone of course knows and remembers that all ‘military experts’ on American TV are briefed by the Pentagon as to exactly what to say. We’ve known this since Iraq, and it was probably true long before we learned it as a fact. I don’t see any signs that the ‘journalism’ anywhere else in ‘the west’ is any more honest.
$$$$$$$$
Putin gave his plan away (it wasn’t really a secret) when he said that all people/regions of Ukraine would get a chance to decide their future. Russia is liberating the East and the South, bit by bit, to set that up. Its the west that has said over and over and over that Putin wants Kiev. That does not seem to be a priority. He can’t ignore Kiev completely, but the primary objectives are elsewhere.
What if Russian forces enforce a hard blockade of Mariupol, scheduling daily times for civilians to evacuate into filtration camps, but do not enter into the city; would this work? I am guessing Ka-52s + Mi-28s + drones can do an adequate job of sniping and reconnaissance until enough civilians are evacuated, and then the Russian military can flatten Mariupol.
the Azov Nazis would them not leave the City. like the IS terrorists did in Alleppo
They (Nazis) are using civilians as shields/hostages. They aren’t allowing citizens out of Mariuopol. From what I habe heard, they already shot people who tried to get out of the city.
Well the US military faced a similar situation in Fallujah. The solution was Willy Pete and Mark 77 bombs. I doubt the Russian will resort to such heinous crimes though.
The Nazis will kill anyone trying to leave. I seem to remember that in Grozny the civilians were able to leave but I’m not sure if the jihadis were killing them on the way out or allowed them to leave.
Yes then the world will see its the Nazis who are holding hostages, lets hope the Russians don’t go for the Raqqa or Fallujah option,i know they won’t because they are more civilised than those American savages.
The world will not see it–what they will be shown is a brutal Russian attack, with many civilians who must have died at their hands. There will be no images of Nazis shown to the world, except on services that will be blocked.
And, of course, Mariupol is filled with Russians while Fallujah had no Americans.

I have been warning the West should not mess with Putin. It is so obvious that the West has made the same fatal as that of Rome. It has weakened its economy with COVID and it is so obsessed with trying to force Russia and China to comply with their Climate Change directives set out by the UN, that they have lost sight of the fact that there is no qualified leadership in any of the major countries and they have weakened their entire military establishment demanding vaccines or you are out. If there was ever a PERFECT time for World War III – this is it.
I have been warning that if China and Russia combined, the West will be defeated. Reliable sources have confirmed that China has entered into a “friendly” relationship with North Korea for mutual benefit. North Korea has one of the largest armies since 2018 it stands at 1,469,000.00. North Korea has been also demonized by the West so they too have a grudge match that has never been settled. With rising shortages of food, the North has never been the breadbasket of Korea and that also provides an incentive to join a triumvirate against the West with Russia and China. Cyclically, North Korea could even start its aggression by January 2023 at the latest.
Additionally, Putin has just dramatically just upped the stakes ordering Russian nuclear deterrent forces put on high alert today because of the boasting of the West and the “aggressive statements” by leading NATO powers. Lost in all of this is the fact that Putin has also made a direct threat to Europe that if Sweden and Finland join NATO there will be “detrimental military and political consequences.”
Putin is playing chess while the rest of the world was playing checkers. When America wages war, they seek to destroy all the infrastructure, take down the power grid, and destroy the water supply. US troops then move in as more of a mop-up operation. The West is judging Putin by the same way the US wages war and they are so wrong. Putin is not using that strategy for he wants to take Ukrain intact for it also has the richest land in the world for food production – hence Stalin stole all the food and killed 7 million by starvation.
Putin is NOT backing away from resistance, he is encircling it the classic way war is traditionally fought – you laid “siege” to the city by surrounding it, and starvation forces their surrender. That often takes time, but you then have the city and the people. You do not raze it to the ground and kill everyone. Anyone who has studied ancient war strategies should see what Putin is doing and the Western press is either deliberately putting out propaganda, or they are complete idiots. Putin seeks to install a new government with minimal casualties to civilians. Every dead civilian creates a blood enemy of their survivors. But the US way means it then costs billions in aid to rebuild what they destroyed – i.e. Iraq. Putin is not using that strategy and the Western press is judging him by American standards of destroying everything and winning in a few days.
Putin is not seeking to destroy the Ukrainian Army. He wants to capture it and once a new government is installed, they will then become allies. This is the very strategy of Alexander the Great. He conquered the known world, but those who were once his enemy joined his army. In Babylon, he defeated Darius III but he left the infrastructure intact and he installed Persian satraps (governors) who poured what would have been Darius’s taxes into Alexander’s coffers. This is the strategy of Putin – not obliterate your enemy and then pour billions in to restore it. Putin has wiped out the air force and owns the skies over Ukraine. He could annihilate the country in less than 3 days, but he is not doing that.
If you’re the kind of person who appreciates music at a time like this and have something of an inclination toward “classical” music, might I recommend
Boris Tchaikovsky: Symphony no. 3 “Sevastopol”
Boris (T)ch was a Shostakovich pupil who by the time of this work (1980) no longer sounded much like his teacher; he dug much farther back into his country’s musical heritage and advanced beyond without approaching the avant-garde.
It’s no explicitly programmatic, but it’s easy to hear pride, savagery, and nobility in its various sections, and its ending, suggestive of flocks of ravens in a city bloodied but unbowed, is devastating in its honesty.
It’s (still) available on YouTube, if you can stomach that source, but in my experience it at least plays without commercial interruption.
I can’t read a musical score but I have an ear for harmonics and melodies. This work is filled with musical vignettes. Is this Tchaikovsky’s original arrangement? In any event Vladimir Fedoseyev’s arrangement is emotional and stunning.
***
Thank you.
Nashe delo pravoe! Pobeda budet za nami!

The Chechens might volunteer to clean up Mariupol. I would imagine that they have less mercy with the Nazis and take losses easier. Not that I would doubt the courage of the Russian soldiers but the effect on the outside world would be different also with respect to the Russian 5th and 6th columns.
@Midge,
Dear, the worse scum are there. Azov battalion. They have perpetrated massacres there on large scale, including all the police. So, for eight years, they have brutalized the civilians. They use them as human shields, they shoot them if they try to leave.
These guys have no compunction to break any siege by killing civilians, ten or so at a time.
This was a SBU/CIA headquarters. They have had no threats since 2015.
One reason Putin held up back then was because Mariupol would have made Beslan school massacre look like a miniature tea party.
The worst of the worst Nazis are there in large numbers.
It may take risking precision air strikes once the Russian pinpoint the commanders. And likely, human shields will die also.
There are western operatives there also. Probably SAS and US SF. Same with those forces being pinched in the Donbass.
The russians should crater the airfields in the western parts of Ukraine to deny access to arms airlifts coming from the west. This would be a limited casualty operation.
I would expect some type of recon on major border crossings from the surrounding NATO countries to watch for weapons convoys. This can be identified and targeted.
Electronic warfare to cut commo and internet in the large cities followed by psyop operations in the forms of leaflets, simple AM/FM radio broadcasts, etc to call out the civilians and those Ukie soldiers who would rather live than die for nothing.
I have heard that google or whoever launched a portable internet platform (balloon) over Ukraine. This needs to be taken out asap.
Elon Musk put Starlink satellites over Ukraine, then got into a Twitter war with Russian space command. Russia would do the world a favor taking out the fake Tony Stark.
There are certainly western operatives active there. By the way the head of german intelligence (BND) was in Kiev until Friday when he was exfiltrated in Poland.

Russia’s operation on Ukrainian denazification: operational summary (27.02, updated)
https://en.news-front.info/2022/02/27/russias-operation-on-ukrainian-denazification-operational-summary-27-02-updated/
In my opinion Putin isn’t bluffing about the prospect of a nuclear war. The West acted in a criminal way and the sanctions against the Central Bank will destroy the ruble and cause all savings, salaries and pensions to be worth nothing. All the Russian population will suffer from the evil of the West. The Aeroflot company has been banned from all the West, Russian assets abroad have been seized, “superpartes” international organizations have expelled Russia, now there is talk about banning all Russians from traveling and entering in the West, Russian media companies have been banned, cyberwarfare (Anonymour, run by CIA) has targeted Russia. They are looking to destroy Russia and this is not different from a full declaration of war. Now they want to supply lethal weapons to Ukraine (not just defensive weapons). And not to mention to insane propaganda machine they run against Russia. Russia has the biggest nuclear missiles in the world and the best nuclear defenses (S500). American anti missile defense is mediocre and at this point I believe Putin wants some revenge…of course some nuclear missiles will hit Russia too but Russia is enormous in territory…people can move.
If NATO and the US wants to destroy Russia, Putin will reciprocate and destroy them too…not in a symmetrical way but the sanctions they have enacted can be considered equivalent to a declaration of war.
We will see what happens next but I think the probabilities of a nuclear conflict are higher than people think and NATO instead of de-escalating the situation are escalating it again. Germany has announced a new big re-armament….if they keep provoking Russia they will get what they deserve
I wonder if this means the A-235 is ready for action & mass production?
To use nuclear weapons is the end of life … PERIOD…
Russia will prevail….
NATO is finished… A Military Industrial Complex – junket….. cash cow for share holders …
Syria , Afghanistan lose and now this …. How embarrassing and the whole world is watching !
westies all ran away a week ago leaving Ukraine all alone, and nothing happened !!!
Our lot are cowards
What if West played gambit – they dropped Ukraine to show everyone how big a danger Russia is – nuclear assault included?
NATO is worthless without a really dangerous enemy and will fall apart without it.
The scenarios of CIA think tanks talk about this kind of trap since the early 90s
“NATO is worthless without a really dangerous enemy and will fall apart without it.”
Yeah, just like it has fallen apart over all these years.
NATO is an occupying US military force for Europe. It’s going nowhere unless forced out. Putin is gambling everything right now and he’s barely suppressing the Ukraine. How the hell is he going to go against NATO?
It’s not at all clear to me that nuclear war would mean the end of all life on planet earth. Massive devastation if pursued on a large scale, but there would be survivors, and a humbled group of them would carry on, more prayerful and obedient to God than perhaps ever.
Until they are not obedient to God anymore. See the US. Established by the extreme zealots the puritans who laid turned into Sodom and Gomorrah literally obedient to the Satan.
I doubt that very much. The ones who survive will be the ones who planned this. They will have their underground bunkers full of non-perishable foodstuffs.
They don’t worship God, they engage in human sacrifices.
…better shoot some of those very very big guys before taking the nuclear option. don’t you think so? They must be hiding in their private islands somewhere right now.
Sanctions against the central bank need not have a mortal effect on the ruble as long as the government responds according to the precepts of Modern Monetary Theory instead of the fictions of neoclassical Economic school that dominates the academies of the English speaking world.
Yes, it is a defacto declaration of war. Once again, the AZ Empire of Lies is relentlessly baiting war while hypocritically calling for diplomacy. Worse, they pile pointed personal insults on top of injury by targeting Russian leaders individually — with irrational sanctions that have zero deterrent value and considerable self-harm to millions they purport to serve. Surreal. This is a reckless provocation of a nuclear power so completely unlike the many powerless countries it has destroyed in the last two decades. Here the world’s largest organized crime syndicate vastly exceeds mere mafia-level criminality; it exposes the Neocons running ZUSA as literally criminally insane. It is rooted in a sadistic messianic obsession for world dominion, preferring to rule over the world’s depopulated ashes than than to abide a world of peaceful and cooperative coexistence. They would rather rule in hell than serve in heaven. So now we are teetering on the edge, staring into the bottomless abyss of madness.
The contrast between Russian leadership and the psychopathic Neocon regime could not be more striking.
yes, nuclear war is likely. The west is playing with fire. Education and pedagogy in the West did not work!
Talks about cease fire negotiations ( note, no complete cessation of hostilities or peace agreement), just a ceasefire in Gomel;
I am skeptical it will bring anything. Ze and his gang of Nazi and brainwashed Ukrainians seem embolden by the international support, whatever that may mean without India and China ( 40% of the World population) and that does not include a bunch of smaller countries that have no love for the hegemon.
However the promise of weapons deliveries, money and severe sanctions on Russia has emboldened the Uks to keep fighting. Heck they probably dream of becoming immediately de- facto NATO members. The problems for Russia is that Ukraine is de jure NATO member for some time now ( 2014) which is precisely why the Russian have acted on the red line.
The Russians can not back down for 3 reasons:
1) Donbas will be destroyed by the orks and their NATO partners
2) Putin will lose credibility
3) NATO troops will move to Russia borders in Kharkov , Mariupol and so on. Which is precisely the contrary of what the Russians wanted to achieve.
Consequently, until one of the two sides gains the upper hand, the stalemate will not be broken by any discussion. The Russians certainly have the means to accomplish the task, not quite sure whether they have the political will to do it. We shall see
I would hope that by tomorrow the Russian army can close that cauldron in the south east and pound all retreating Orks in the wide open field.
Repost from the day 3 article:
Your Victory is your community!
Pillars of Christianity, Love, Faith and Hope! Shines through by the community.
That’s why the media, individualism from “liberal democracy” is so damaging. Family, community, and the three pillars.
No need to answer, you are busy, but not alone. I have been sleepless for nights to keep in touch with family.
Can you offer any insite into the position and importance of the various Russian oligarchs we are constantly hearing about? The msm claims they have power, But they seem more important to the West then to the East.. It seems like many of them live in the UK or the USA and that is where the majority of their wealth is concentrated. Am I missing something? Any explanation you can offer would be greatly appreciated
No you are right,i believe many of those oligarchs would be arrested if they went back to Russia, the MSM are confusing Putin with that drunken Court jester Yeltsin, he is the one who allowed western Corporate jackals and their local partners in crime to loot Russia, the MSM are disgusting filth full of lies, but many of the cattle believe it,just listen to any talk show in the UK like LBC,its mind blowing weaponised ignorance.
Putin made a deal and warning with Russian oligarchs long ago. They could keep their business or they could enter politics. But they would not be able to do both. All of them kept their business.
All the West talk about oligarchs is indication of their ignorance of Russia, Putin’s power vertical, oligarchs and business men.
A few are important internally as Russia grows industrially and builds its infrastructure.
Only Arkady Rotenberg is really close friends with Putin. All the rest have felt his lash at some point or other.
Searching German Wikipedia using keyword ‚Oligarch‘, I found a reference to a document uncovered by Wikileaks, originating from US commercial intelligence provider Stratfor, „The Rise and Fall of the Russian Oligarchs“,
https://wikileaks.org/gifiles/attach/144/144365_RussianoligarchPDF.pdf.
This report covers the time period from the implosion of the USSR up to 2009, i.e. the global financial crisis. Keeping in mind this report comes from the opposite camp, it provides a good historical overview of the oligarchs’ evolution and the eventual mop-up done by Vladimir Putin.
The core issue today is not ‘Russian invasion’. Putin has spelt out unambiguously that Russia does not intend to occupy Ukraine and that its objective is two-fold: ‘demilitarisation’ and ‘denazification’ of Ukraine.
The first one means dismantling the military infrastructure that NATO and has installed on Ukrainian soil right on Russia’s doorstep. Ukraine’s defence apparatus, including its command centres, are already hooked to the NATO system.
Putin has repeatedly warned that if the US instals missiles in Ukraine, Moscow would be within 5 minutes’ striking distance. It is ‘like a knife at our throat,’ he said on Thursday.
As for ‘denazification,’ the US and European intelligence agencies are using hardcore nationalist forces in Ukraine with Neo-Nazi leanings whose parentage goes back to the Second World War when their forefathers acted as collaborators of Hitler during the Nazi invasion of the Soviet Union.
They have a score to settle with all Russians, as after the defeat of Nazi Germany, Josef Stalin had severely punished them for sedition. Unsurprisingly, these forces have been integrated as the vanguard of NATO’s offensive toward Russia. The German spy chief personally visited Kiev to give final touch for the upcoming confrontation and had to be evacuated in a special operation from Berlin!
Under no circumstances will Russia give up until the twin objectives are realised — dismantling the offensive weapon systems installed by NATO in Ukraine and, secondly, scattering the Neo-Nazi forces that act as the US’ cats-paw.
Zelensky himself is a mere frontman. He is deeply unpopular, has no political base, rumoured to be a drug addict and unstable personality. He doesn’t make a worthy interlocutor for Modi to discuss war and peace.
https://www.indianpunchline.com/india-shouldnt-miss-world-war-pointer/
The Russians always have to do it the hard way ! Hope it is over soon!!
God bless Russia and the Donbas!
How do you know that Kharkov is being “mopped up,” because although I would like that to be true, the things I’m seeing on various sites is that the Russian attempt to take the city failed. Russia needs to fight this war as an all out war for survival. Thus, they must accept that there are going to be civilian causalities. I just watched video of a Russian soldier being punched around by an older Ukrainian man and he shot into the ground instead of doing what he should have done, i.e., shoot the man who was hitting him. Russia MUST win this war or it will be seen as a second rate power (albeit with nuclear weapons) for the foreseeable future.
“Russian soldier being punched around by an older Ukrainian man and he shot into the ground instead”
thus is how the war for your brother’s heart is won.
hearing it gives me hope some good may come in the end.
thanks for the story, you should reconsider your position.
You evidently have no comprehension of the discipline and sense of purpose the Russian soldier demonstrated in executing that response. Imagine a US Marine in the same circumstance. However there’s no need to imagine that as it’s lurid and ultimately futile reality is explicitly rendered by litanies of documented examples.
It is exactly this discipline and sense of purpose that will prevail in this current episode of the conflict. It is exactly what is lacking in the NATO/US forces that are possibly milling about nervously in the wings.
So. All that free speech talk in EU is a joke. They will ban RT and Sputink. And probably they will hunt the smaller media, because there was talk about fighting disinformation. Pathetic.
Banning information is not a sign of strength but a sure sign of systemic weakness. It begs the question of what it is they do not want to hear. Nations who are secure in their own legitimacy have nothing to fear from alternative view points, for their legitimacy stands on its own merits. The term disinformation is just code for what they are afraid of confronting.
There is a dark analogy here between the Iron Curtain of the cold-war years that the USSR and its satellites drew around themselves and the Digital Curtain the West is drawing around itself now.
I continue to believe Western leaders are terrified of losing their grip on power. They simply do not know how to respond to China’s and Russia’s emerging power. The social, cultural and economic problems facing the West are only being made worse by their actions against Russia. Things are becoming unraveled.
A bad moon is rising.
Perhaps, but let us look at the flip side – a full, iridescent Luna ushering a new world. We are privileged (although most of us would prefer a quiet life) to be witnessing the birth of a new world. Such things are always difficult and bloody but they are of such magnitude that we can only observe them in awe and fear. A country that wishes to live independently, according to its own laws and customs cannot afford to worry about how her enemies view her. She has to have the strength of her convictions and proceed as she sees fit. Most of us live in the West and are particularly vulnerable to the maelstrom of vicious psychological war unleashed by the dying hegemon. The choice is simple – either Russia will be torn apart like a rag doll by the hyenas of the West or it will endure and lance the poisonous abscess thus awakening the majority of the world to the possibility of freedom and dignity. The stakes are extremely high but I believe that the current Russian leadership will be successful (not without sacrifices – but that must be factored in).
The desperate attempt by the West to “hobble” Russia is a symptom of their lack of confidence. Germany’s intention to turn itself in a military Reich again gives Russia a chance to deal with them once and for all. Despite loud barking the perfidious Anglo-Americans might repeat their WWII volte face once the EU becomes a real threat.
Russia is much more powerful than I thought and is led by a wise leadership. In the words of Medvedev, this is an excellent chance to extract the country from the poisonous embrace of Western finance and embark on a journey of self-sufficiency and real progress. Having witnessed the same horrible nightmare vis-a-vis Yugoslavia and Serbia in the 1990s, I am psychologically prepared – and so is the leadership of Russia.
Several British sites have posted articles claiming the Chechen detachment and it’s General were destroyed by Ukrainian Missiles. Also several stories about two Russian cargo planes filled with paratroopers being shot down. Both stories seem far fetched but I am wondering if anyone has information contradicting the reports.
”Several British sites” thats it
The Saker has warned about these desperate western PsyOps. Let’s refrain commenting on them
I understand what you are saying and also why Saker says to ignore, but I think if one doesn’t call out propaganda when confronted with it then you lose the narrative. Not intending my reply as confrontational, just want to explain why I site those two examples.
Here is an excellent article describing my point.
https://caitlinjohnstone.com/2022/02/27/russian-propaganda-is-the-latest-excuse-to-expand-censorship/
Why people keep watching that crap?
Just wait for everything to end. This is war, everything is propaganda. .
Yes, a senior U.S. official has already stated the 2 cargo planes shot down story was FAKE.
I am watching so many ladies give their evaluation of war results that I am beginning to sing the classic Mexican bolero “Perfidy” to this link (below): “Woman, if you can talk with God, ask him if I have ever stopped adoring you. And to the sea, mirror of my heart, the times that it has seen me cry the perfidy of your love. I have searched for you wherever I go and I cannot find you…” None of them is a military expert, excuse me.

I heard recently that Putin has declared basically a war on the deep state. I’m in the process of listening to this press conference and would appreciate if anybody has heard anything about this.
https://www.bitchute.com/video/CktvTlhcFYQ4/
It sounds legitimate but one never knows!
“Kharkov is being cleaned up by mopping up operations. Once that city is secure, there are rumors that some kind of government will be proclaimed there. Let’s wait and see.”
I pray that this will be confirmed, and that most Ukrainian people will start to follow this instead of Ze. This will also help to break the prop of the heroic resistance of the whole united people against the barbaric horde invading.
Here in the colonies is nauseating, I talked even with friends and relatives and they repeat the same things of the tv: Putin is a dictator who wants to recreate the Tsarist Empire, nobody ever dared to attack a country in Europe (apparently Serbia is not considered Europe). Hard time to re-tell them and explain, but somehow I try to break their confidence in MSM.
Sadly having watched countless videos on the many pro-Russian telegram channels my mind truly boggles at how brainwashed the average Ukrainian is as so far only one major town has decided to voluntarily give up (Kupyansk).
I see countless examples of average Joe’s filming destroyed equipment, hunting so-called Russian collaborators and even babushka’s singing patriotic Ukrainian songs as Russian forces from Crimea liberate Berdyansk…?
A casual observer would think that these Russian’s are some Americans driving through Baghdad waiting for flowers when instead all they get are molotov cocktails or mines!?
What happened to the pro-Russian Slavyansk, Kharkov, Odessa of 2014 as I don’t see these cities rising up to welcome their brothers with open arms so why risk Russian lives to appease friendly citizens when very little evidence of crowds celebrating freedom from corrupt UkroNazi rulers in Kiev & Lvov!?
Yes the UkroNazi battalions don’t allow regular soldiers to surrender and cowardly use civilians and city centers as hostages but what I had hoped would happen would be local resistance and this has yet to happen but maybe once the BGs join up and close the Eastern cauldron will we see units rise up against their captors and rush over to the Russian side?! Might be time to dial the pain meter up a notch!?
Apologies for feeling defeatist as it breaks my heart witnessing the heroism of Russian forces risking life to free a brotherly people yet get stabbed in the back. Onward to victory and the denazification of Novorussiya-Malorussiya!!!
URA! URA URA!
I had got yesterday – and even maintain today – a pretty nice suggestion for VV Putin and Sergey Lavrov which these two gentlemen – yes, i know, overburdened by pressing tasks – have overlooked.
It is a challenge to the American crookie – just to avoid the exceptionalistan freeze it all.
It was that both go to the TV with a letter of Power of Attorney in Rusky and English , fully valid and signed and offer it to Mr Hunter Biden as the beneficiary , full unlimited powers to get, draw or transfer all the assets and money that the both bad Vlad and viperine tongue Lavrov may have in foreign accounts. Yes, up to the last cent.
Sir, I know I’m totally out of context but I’ll write it anyway.
Take a night sleep, hug your kids, play the fool with them, have fun time with your wife, have a walk with them. In one word, take a resting and restoring time out of that madness.
I’m dead sure that we could be facing the very worst possibility, aka a nuclear war with other things to make sure that the survivors will be alive in hell. If it happens, you’ll get the tiny solace of having told a fine goodbye to your loved ones. If it doesn’t, you’ll be back to work withe a refreshed memory of why you are doing it.
Personnally, without my family, I’d be a dead corpse or something close to it busy destroying myself and finishing me off. I wish you the best and your family is in it. Do not neglect them! They’ll give you a perfect reason to carry on with that damning situation we are in.
Good Luck! We’re going to need it.
DFavre,
You are not out of context, you are absolutely correct!
We in the West are clearly being set up by our own “leaders” to fail – not just in the current situation with Russia, but economically, morally, socially, educationally, emotionally, and of course militarily.
I dont expect a nuclear exchange (but keep an open mind to the risk) but I do expect complete economic collapse of the West in the near term (months or a year? I dont know). When it happens it will be blamed on a “Cyber Attack” blamed from Russia, and then it will be lights out for some time and people will be concerned more with day-to-day survival than discussing who did – not that they could discuss as the internet will be taken down along with cell phone networks etc.
An economic collapse of the West, combined with a “grid down” event will be as damaging and destructive on a socieatal level (factoring in the mass die off of the old, ill, very young, and the unprepared) as any nuclear war – just without the radiation and the leveling of cities.
So yes, spend time with family if already spiritually and physically prepared for what is to come, as there is nothing any of us can now do to roll back what has been set into motion.
I am watching so many women give an evaluation of war results that I have begun to sing the Mexican bolero classic to this tune (below): “Woman, if you can talk with God, ask him if I have ever stopped adoring you. And to the sea, mirror of my heart, the times that it has seen me cry the perfidy of your love. I have searched for you wherever I go and I cannot find you…” None of them is a military expert, excuse me.

A good article by Martin Armstrong
…….Putin is playing chess while the rest of the world was playing checkers. When America wages war, they seek to destroy all the infrastructure, take down the power grid, and destroy the water supply. US troops then move in as more of a mop-up operation. The West is judging Putin by the same way the US wages war and they are so wrong. Putin is not using that strategy of a video game for he wants to take Ukraine intact for it also has the richest land in the world for food production……
The summary: the Russians halt the NATO advance.
“One day or another there will have to be war … we know that … it’s fate.” (BB March 2009.)
The crisis of the capitalist system drowned in debts not being treated but prolonged, all roads lead to war, we already know the camps, but we do not know the timetable.
However according to the experts we are in the final phase; at the beginning of the 20th century the preparations and the signals began in 1906, the war only intervened in 1918 or 1917 – if you want to start with the Russian civil war.
The Anglo-Saxon world is the one that benefits the most from the current order, and particularly the dematerialized British Empire, so expect it to play a leading role in the preparations for belligerence in terms of the preparation / manipulation of spirits.
The USA will be at the forefront in other segments such as execution. Europe will of course be the great victim/lossal vassal, stuck between the blocks.
The EU is analyzed as a failed attempt to escape the historical destiny of Europe; Alas!
In times of crisis there is not enough surplus product for everyone and the fight becomes bitter, fierce, first by competition then by strategic competition, then by cold war, then lukewarm and finally things, ripe, break out, according to chance and opportunity.
On the chosen path, to maintain the standard of living of Westerners there is only war; an American think tank estimates that without war the developed countries would have to drop their standard of living by more than 30%.
The war will be a war wanted by the ultra-rich; they know that their monetary, fictitious, paper fortune can only have real content if and only if they can claim effective control of all the wealth of the planet. Their power to levy linked to this fortune is zero if they do not control this wealth through military power. The paper issued that constitutes fictitious wealth represents between 3 and 10 times what can be considered as global wealth. This will drop considerably with the energy conversion and the fantastic rise in costs and prices; rarity will show its horrible face, especially the rarity of overproduction of course.
Broadly speaking, the war will be a war to maintain the power to levy the mass of papers created since the beginning of the crisis of Capital, on the world’s wealth.
Seen from this angle, you understand that the Anglo-Saxons and especially the English, global masterminds of fictitious capital and its engineering will be the spearheads.
Everything else will be narrative or if you want novel.
The events in Ukraine are of course part of the continuum of the march to war. NATO’s eastward march is a long-term military maneuver within the strategic framework of the encirclement of Russia and China, the Russians have just put a stop to it.
The war will be a war to honor the power to levy all the monetary, stock market, fictitious wealth of the ultra-rich class.
Western populist dislocation, the end of consensus, the spinelessness of the elites, all of this makes the process inevitable and accelerates it.
Imperialism can be understood from this angle. The rest is the gangue that surrounds the crystal of History, as Hegel would say.
Zelensky calling for foreign nationals to come and fight in Ukraine, now all the mad dogs who did the West’s bidding in the likes of Syria and Libya will now head for Ukraine to fight for the nazis.

War Russia Ukraine economic and financial consequences
Apparently, as I write these lines, I learn that Europe and the USA will freeze Russian foreign exchange reserves in Euros and dollars. This is a declaration of economic war that should cause Russia to stop exporting energy to Europe or the USA, which could trigger a global crash.
Starting a war is easy and everyone who embarked on this adventure was convinced that the conflict would be brief and that they would emerge victorious.
The reality is often different as the examples of the conflicts initiated by the USA since the fall of the Berlin Wall prove it.
As I knew that Putin was a good student of History with a capital H, I was therefore surprised to see him embark on a military adventure whose outcome would be fatal to him if it were to be a disaster for Russia .
But what’s done is done, and now we have to integrate this new element into the analyzes that I have to do.
My goal is not to pass a moral judgment on this decision of Putin, but to understand the economic and financial consequences of this decision on the balances of the world.
For this, I must first make assumptions about the goals that Putin is pursuing:
Hypothesis number one: The goal is to destroy the military potential of Ukraine by “targeted” strikes on all Ukrainian territory, for, this goal achieved, to withdraw into the disputed areas and whose independence it has recognized. In this case, the conflict could be short-lived and things will settle down fairly quickly.
Assumption number two: Putin is, and always has been, a supporter of a greater Russia that includes Ukraine and his goal is the outright annexation of the country to the motherland. In this second case, this is a case that is likely to last militarily, diplomatically, economically and financially.
I would like to say here that less than 200,000 men to implement the second hypothesis seems to me quite insufficient, which seems to confirm that the Russian troops do not give the impression of wanting to conquer the cities or capture Ukrainian power.
But as Clausewitz has shown, the “climb to extremes” can happen quite quickly without anyone being responsible, as we saw at the beginning of the First World War, all the combatants thinking that they would be in their homes for Christmas.
Having posed my hypotheses, I then have to integrate the sanctions that will be taken by the “good side” against Russia and against its government.
Apparently, they do not have much interest except one: to prohibit the Swift payment system from Russian banks. It means wanting to cut Russia off from international trade, not so much with Asia and China with which alternative payment systems have been set up, but certainly with Europe, which trades a lot with Russia unlike USA. These sanctions will therefore be a certain victim, the European economies.
Which leads me to ask the following question: is Russia in an economic and financial state that will allow it to resist without suffering too much from the sanctions to which it will be subject?
Let’s look.
Russia has a balanced budget, has substantial current account surpluses, very low foreign and domestic debt, real interest rates on 10-year bonds above 5%, has a surplus in energy, agriculture (wheat in particular) and raw materials. Finally, Russia has foreign exchange reserves (only 15% in US dollars) that literally cover two years of imports, which is gigantic.
To sum up the reality, the world in general and Europe in particular need Russia much more than Russia needs them.
To use a historical analogy, Mrs. Thatcher, before entering into a “death” conflict with the miners’ union in Great Britain, had started by accumulating immense stocks of coal. Everything seems to indicate that Mr. Putin has done the same and that he has prepared for a long war, and that he seems to be entering this war better prepared than were the miners’ union and Mr. Scargill, its leader at the era.
Let’s see how his opponents prepared (need we say his enemies?)
I have no special information on Ukraine, which, apart from wheat and light armaments, does not seem to produce much.
The destruction of Ukrainian ports would undoubtedly lead to a considerable increase in world wheat prices, which would suit Russia well.
What is more, for the moment, a large majority of the Russian gas exported, passes through Ukraine. Blowing up the pipelines in Ukraine is guaranteeing the country’s bankruptcy, with the government collecting billions of dollars in rights of way.
And Ukraine, a badly managed and corrupt country, has so to speak
no foreign exchange reserve, which means that if its ports are destroyed and its pipelines cut, then Europe and the USA will have to pay the bill for the “humanitarian” subsidies to the local populations, which will enthuse the American people , French, Germans, Italians etc… whose standard of living will be collapsing due to insane price increases in energy and food…
Let’s come to Europe and the Euro.
Europe is in an impossible situation.
State debts are gigantic, budget deficits uncontrollable if interest rates return to normal levels, external deficits inevitable if energy prices continue to rise, real interest rates on 10-year bonds deeply negatives.
Europe’s economic and financial situation is literally the opposite of what Russia enjoys, which is to say that Europe is in dire straits and should in no way get into a conflict with Russia. Because, if Russia cuts off its gas and oil exports, Europe will immediately fall into a very strong inflationary recession, a little like Great Britain in 1976-1977 and the Euro will disappear before the fury of the people, which will cause another crisis.
Let’s move on to the USA, and the hilarious Biden, whose son was one of the beneficiaries of Ukrainian corruption.
It is the US that for years has insisted on punishing Russia for its annexation of Crimea. It seems to me that the new sanctions proposed by the USA against the Russian Central Bank are likely to lead us very quickly to a shortage of wheat and energy in Europe and in the rest of the world. Difficult to pay for imports from Russia in euros or dollars if the Russians have their euro or dollar accounts blocked.
That could help American producers.
But the United States has no excess production capacity to fill the holes, neither in agricultural raw materials, nor in gas, nor in oil, nor in industrial raw materials.
The American policy of sanctions against Russia therefore risks triggering a huge recession in Europe, and they will not be able to do anything to help us.
Which is to say that American governments are ready to fight to the last European, but not beyond.
As soon as inflation exceeds 10% in the USA, we will see them return to the negotiating table with Russia, but between then and now, a large part of Europe’s industrial potential will have disappeared.
Perhaps it will then be bought cheaply by the American companies with which these European companies were competing?
Or more likely by Chinese companies.
We bet that the next elected officials in Europe will want to leave NATO, as American military protection is really very expensive.
And the rest of the world?
Two conclusions stand out
The construction of a Chinese monetary zone in Yuan appears to be increasingly justified given the abuses of rights of which the Americans are guilty. The safe store of value is therefore now a 10-year Chinese bond, the Bund and the T Bond being no longer legally safe (risk of confiscation).
Gold, on the other hand, does not need to be deposited in another central bank where it could be stolen by the US under US law. The simplest is for each central bank to keep its gold in its own vaults, which implies that gold is slowly but surely monetizing.
In conclusion, I would like to remind readers of three facts
Charles de Gaulle’s phrase: “the sword is the axis of History”, which Putin has just reminded European nations. The time of the lawyers is over, the time of the sword is back.
Raymond Aron’s sentence on Giscard d’Estaing: “he does not know that History is tragic”. All the supranational constructions in Brussels found their source in one far-fetched idea or another of Giscard. Putin has just dealt a mortal blow to all this nonsense. Brussels is a non-being.
Another sentence of de Gaulle on the Russian Nation: “Russia will absorb communism like blotting paper ink”. The Nation is a reality.
Impressive!
Methinx this piece above by Mr Wio puts about the optimal puzzle pieces of the big picture together to be able present the case coherently – as I know it to exist in a bitesize, digestible serving.
Gonna save it and present it in conversations and arguments in the future if You do not mind Mr Wio.
two questions: what’s happening in odessa? do people here share my anxiety that this is being fortified as a kind of al tanf by us special services etc?
What’s the plan to deal with the shipments of arms to ukraine from uk and eu? Surely if they can achieve this with impunity putin fails to de militarise ukraine?
A Look Back — How Long Did it Take the Nazis to Capture Ukraine?
By Larry Johnson

Is this a joke? Are Russian diplomats waiting patiently on a Ukrainian puppet delegation with strings attached to the CIA?
Sputnik News
“Russian-Ukrainian talks have not started yet and won’t start anytime soon, a source told Sputnik.
The Ukrainian delegation is still on its way, another source said”
Russians need to show the will to talk and resort to diplomacy, but Ukies won’t accept their conditions. Military operations will continue anyway.
Saker thanks for the honest information.
I do not condone the war in Ukraine nor Putin’s actions. Having said that I have seen this coming and dreading this for years. I was there when the West and Nato signed the treaties with Russia. What boggles my mind is we Americans cannot just do some research about what happened when the reunification of Germany happened. I am not going to rattle my sabers as we are to blame. I am sure to catch some heat but the truth is the darn truth.
I see these wild claims in the media here in the USA and just want to facepalm as people want to pound their chests, rattle their sabers, and cry go Ukraine. Trust me when I say this Russia is going to own the Ukraine. The Western media does not get that the current ground war is not even heated up yet as Russia continues to surround major metropolitan areas and builds up it forces before advancing into the various cities. Trust me they will get some rest reload and clean and then off they will go into the areas they want. I will pray for both sides and this may well get ugly.

It is like in 44-45′. Ukies started forming penal “Dirlewanger” birgades like Nazis. Murderers and rapists are being released from prison under guise of General Prosecutor of the Ukraine.
404 country. Poor civilians.
If these Ukies are being driven into a cauldron, how come they are able to continue shelling the Donbass continually? Why isn’t Russia taking out those artillery positions? Seems that would be a priority. But then I am not military, so I need education.
A friend who has relatives in the Donbas and have lived in their basement for 8 years has said that the rebels have stopped the bombardments and appear to have moved on…
The VSU front lines in the Donbas region have remained stable for many years, allowing their reinforcement at primary, secondary (fallback) and tertiary trenches. Each line is heavily reinforced. An attempted breakthrough would lead to extreme loss of life: new positions would be indefensible and quickly come under attack from fallback positions, but movement would be highly restricted because of extensive anti-tank and anti-personnel landmine placement. For that reason, VRF and Donbas forces concentrate on weak points where roads would allow quicker advance and resupply. Sometimes if the retreat of opposing forces is fast enough they can send the sappers in immediately to check the roads for sabotage. But the VSU is too strong for “optimum conditions” to present themselves very often.
Taking out these artillery positions is an objective. They are all located within the Donetsk and Lugansk oblasti, which seems to be the territory Putin will support them in. But there are much safer, quicker ways to do it. They are too well-fortified to be worth expending much effort on in the initial breakthroughs. By “cauldron”, an encirclement is intended. If the VSU commanders are capable, most of their forces should be able to retreat before the encirclement is complete. More likely, part of the retreating columns will make it through and part will be caught in enemy fire. The goal of the VRF is to use the encirclement to entice as many as possible to surrender (a tactic employed quite regularly in symmetrical warfare).
But the TO has been mobilised (reservists aged 18-60+), indicating they intend to resort to asymmetrical urban warfare, and more importantly a portion of the paramilitary forces are likely to remain (excepting notably those fearing trial), and still more importantly it seems certain VSU units are under orders to remain in cities even after the onset of siege.
And that brings me to the third important reason. Surrounding them is both faster and safer for both sides, as I have mentioned. But it is also in there interest to avoid urban areas entirely if they can help it. At some point of course they will have to go in, for every siege is a perimeter that has to be guarded, and the soldiers guarding it are soldiers unavailable for the front. But the intent of the VRF is to get Кꙑєвь to capitulate before more drastic measures have to be taken. Long before siege could lead to starvation. In modern warfare, the more desperate a party gets the greater the push is to cause civilian casualties. So batteries aren’t just placed in residential areas without proper evacuation: they are placed near hospitals, shelters, and so on.
Most of the time this goes on with small arms and mortars and other “mobile” arms, which can be moved out of the way before monitors can observe it. But it is also done with higher calibre weapons quite regularly. And no matter how “ethical” most allies of the VSU think themselves to be, those with satellite intelligence know they do this. Don’t get me wrong, the Donbas forces used this tactic too. And both sides have been using it throughout the war. The former to keep up Western sympathy, and the latter mainly to keep up Russian sympathy. The OCSE documented it — as difficult as it is to find that information — as did both sides but only for opposing forces. But the VRF is a military superpower fighting “friendly” forces, so it does not employ this tactic, and may even be able to “control” its use by allied Donbas forces.
Thanks for all the info only to be found here. Minimally intelligent ‘Westerners’ know to avoid ‘Western’ MSM in times like these.
More on the political and economic side of things, I find Paul Craig Roberts also very useful. Do you agree with him?
What do you think of his point that the Russians shouldn’t pause their advance to respond to fake offers of negotiations by Ze?
Cordialement,
Andrei, first and foremost, thank you for what you do, you and your back room team: coming here is a liberation, and your efforts are appreciated. A big shout out also to the commentators here as well, where a lot of genuine good info is shared and disseminated.
Here in the west there are many who care, but most don’t know, having lived constantly under our very own Operation Mockingbird 24/7/365. But I’m trying to educate as best I can, same as many others here, I guess. I explained it to my mother and son in law yesterday, a long history. You can see the pennies drop. People are shocked by the utter lies and duplicity, but far and away, most just don’t know.
As for changing anything: our governments ignore us. Elections are theater, a veneer of respectability that means nothing. Look at the violence meted out to ordinary people protesting with the Yellow Vests in France, or the Australian Covid lock down, where Oz went straight back to its penal roots. It doesn’t matter that you have rights, they trample them as suits them.
It’s now come to the point where I wonder if we’re not knee-deep in the Book of Revelation. The four horsemen are off and running, and the great war is coming that is the precursor to the Man of Lawlessness coming on the scene. And why not? The west is debauched, has gone full in on the Beast System, so maybe we are witnessing what must come to pass before the return of the Son of Man. The upside: we know who wins!
Take hope, people, do the right thing always, and pray to God for your deliverance. He is with you, and will give you comfort.
Forgive my English since it is not my mother’s tongue.
When I saw the battle map I was a little bit disappointed that Russia does not encircle the whole Ukraine which she should have no problem of doing so. But after a while I can see that the Russian maybe is using a little bit of Syrian playbook here. Of course I could be wrong but consider this.
1. Russia moves slowly to capture Ukraine from the current position westwards and stop at just before Lviv which will serve as Idlib in Syria.
2. While advancing, allow the Ze and company to retreat to Lviv as their new position.
3. Reduce Ze and company’s influence in the limited vicinity of Lviv.
4. Let the Ukraine new administration with Russia’s assistance deal with the menace posed by Lviv and teach them a few lessons when they attempt to regain the influence outside Lviv.
With this approach Russia will achieve many advantages
1. The ability to get out from Ukraine adventure quicker.
2. The West who is supporting Ze has some victory to claim thus avoiding total humiliation i.e. nuclear war.
3. The new administration will be ever indebted to Russia.
4. The new buffer zone is established.
5. All objectives as mentioned in Putin’s speech is achieved.
No doubt the West will continue to supply weapons to Lviv but that’s about it. LDNR experience showed that it can be managed.
Again, I could be wrong,
Salam i.e. peace to all

Putin is not using that strategy of a video game for he wants to take Ukraine intact for it also has the richest land in the world for food production – hence Stalin stole all the food and killed 7 million by starvation.
This is the strategy of Putin – not to obliterate his enemy and then pour billions in to restore it. Putin has wiped out the air force and owns the skies over Ukraine. He could annihilate the country in less than 3 days, but he is not doing that to the West’s befuddlement.
Moreover, the real concern is that Putin has NOT sent in his hard-core troops. Only about 30% of the troops on the border were sent into Ukraine. The majority of the troops are there to take Europe if they are foolish enough to walk into this mess. Putin is obviously playing chess and he is very good at it while Biden has to change his diapers.
Just to revive our Russians friends, many many peoples around the world (like in Tunisia, my country) are with Russia, its people and its direction. The auto translate suggests that captured Russians are being tortured and that they have the cellphones and IP addresses of the people engaging in this and the leaders giving orders to do this.
Can anyone confirm if the translation is correct?
Very disturbing if true. Very naive question: will there ever be justice for the war crimes of these nazis given how corrupt the entire NATO structure is?
The speech by FM Kuleba is instructive if painful to watch. These clowns running Ukraine are truly delusional and psychopathic. He calls for the world to completely stop using Russian oil and gas. He calls for the restoration of “the world order, that is the European order.” He calls for the destruction of Russia and for Ukraine to be flooded with arms and foreign fighters. 1). Kadyrov, leader of Chechnya, says Russia’s tactics were not working and should be intensified by using more weapons:
Ramzan Kadyrov, the strongman leader of the province of Chechnya who commands some of Russia’s most feared units, said Russia’s tactics were not working and should be intensified by using more weapons.
“They’re armed to the teeth with new weaponry and ammunition, new generation heavy artillery, and we’re still placing our hopes on the Ukrainians’ coming to their senses,” Kadyrov wrote on messaging app Telegram. “I’ve developed tactics and strategy against terrorists many times and fought in battle. In my understanding the tactics we’ve chosen in Ukraine are too sluggish.”
“We have to change . . . That’ll be more convincing for them,” Kadyrov said, calling on Russian president Vladimir Putin to “give all special forces the order to finish off the Nazis and terrorists” in Ukraine. Putin has described the leadership in Kyiv as “terrorists” and “neo-Nazis”.
If Kadyrov is upset enough to go public with this, it is a big deal to many in the Russian military.

> Turkey says it will not allow Russian warships to exit the Black Sea
Turkey can only close the strait if it is at war. Per montreux convention
Turkey has declared that in their opinion war is in fact happening, if not to them. However, there is a loophole, apparently. Turkey can not stop Russian ships coming back to the home base. So if the ships in the Med which are part of the Black Sea fleet come back, Turkey can not stop them. Not that it matters, everything Russia needs is already in the Black Sea. However, if any Western ships want to enter the Black Sea, Turkey will have to stop them.
Erdogan better remember that Putin remembers the Russian jet shot down in Syria.
Well said ! Double standards as could be expected from the US exceptionalists and minions !
Heard of a russian report re: 911 with the whole ugly thrue pointing to an insider job by orders issued by highest levels in the us state . If true, isn’t time to unveil everything to show the evil nature of the “greatest democracy” of all times?
A NATO with suicidal tendencies
Ukrainian ground attack aircraft shot down over Kherson. In the first photo, the remains of a Gryazev-Shipunov GSh-30-2 30 mm caliber automatic cannon.
War propaganda continues to intensify. Fake videos and captions similar to those fabricated by US media during the 2003 invasion of Iraq are on the rise.
We knew that the situation of the empire was catastrophic to the point where they invented a fake “pandemic” and imposed a real dictatorship which does not say its name but now NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organization) is discovering distinctly suicidal tendencies.
Russia put its nuclear deterrent force on high alert after the United States placed all of its strategic nuclear forces on high alert. We also learn that the Russian Perimeter system, Система “Периметр”, dating from the Cold War 1.0 and which was believed to be inoperative since the Yeltsin era, is not only operational but has been greatly improved.
The Perimeter system can automatically trigger the launch of Russian nuclear strategic delivery systems, if a nuclear attack is detected by a network of seismic, light, radioactivity and overpressure sensors, and even if all command echelons of all forces Russian armies are completely destroyed and the very structure of the Russian state is annihilated.
This system, also known as “La Main Morte” is not the only one that will trigger a second strike. Another automated system will complement mutually assured destruction by means involving vectors in asynchronous and geostationary orbits. This system, the existence of which is denied by the Russians, is very poorly known and has been in development since the beginning of the 2010s.
The acronym in English for Mutual Assured Destruction is MAD (Mutual Assured Destruction) was initially a US military doctrine theorized by Donald Brennan of the Hudson Institute. The latter often joked about this acronym meaning “crazy” in English.
The situation is therefore so desperate on the political, economic and socio-cultural levels that the so-called “Western” elites want to drag the world into collective suicide. Where is it their inability to accept a paradigm shift that no longer ensures their hegemony on the planet? Where else is their hysteria at seeing the leader of a great power publicly assert that all of their power was based on lies and deceit? There is certainly a major psychological dimension to these questions.
The Epstein case has revealed that the hidden power structures within the empire have been deeply shaken. The COVID episode has only reinforced the sinking of a system that was only held together by the artifice of a permanent lie. The international financial system is in a complete bind for reasons too lengthy to explain here. The old world has collapsed and nothing will be as before. The disillusionment of some is all the more painful as the whole of this anti-historical and unnatural system presented itself with the help of a universal propaganda machine as the champion of freedoms and humanist values.
The deeply corrupt ruling elites are still self-intoxicated by their own lies, their own narratives of reality and their own writing of history. In the case of the empire, there is the stake of a Ponzi scheme of astronomical proportions based partly on the dictates of central banks and the omnipotence of printing presses with the predominance of the dollar. What happened in Ukraine is the logical outcome of a process that got stuck in Syria. We knew that sooner or later the disruptive role of Russia, accidental from a historical point of view, would lead to the targeting of Russia. The eastward extension of NATO, the tool of empire, while maintaining a misleading semantic cloud, was only intended to destroy Russia as a system-challenging power.
From Syria, the mechanics of empire, whose economy is based on war, is not only directly hampered by the mere existence of the current Russian power – which has never claimed to be a model of virtue or aspired to any messianic vocation – and indirectly through China’s long-term economic strategy.
Imperial hubris or divine curse, the strategists of the empire are convinced that they can prevail in a global thermonuclear war and thus regain their lost illusions.
Hard will be the awakening.

Ursula Von Der Liar and many others keep saying they are going to supply arms to Ukraine.
Pray tell, how are they going to accomplish this?
I seriously doubt that Russia is going to allow arms deliveries which will effectively be used against them.
As someone else here mentioned, this sounds like a small group of people putting a lot of tax money in their pockets, while no weapons will actually ever be delivered.

” . . . Other putatively pro-Russians website have produced a lot of clickbait recently and they seem to ally themselves to the Russian 6th column. So caveat emptor, big time! :-)
Agreed. Sadly, it is the case. In the USA, “Patriot media” largely can’t break away from “Evil Russians bad” and even if they covertly sympathize with Russia, they try to play the “objective” card. From T. Carlson to Alex Jones. The rational seems to be that since a video that went viral where K. Schwab of WEF boasted of having world governments in his pocket, and named names including Putin, and uses WEF’s Youth Develpment Program to infiltrate world governments. So “Evil Russians bad” has taken a new twist. Alex Jones went on air PUBLICLY stating that the reason Putin and Russia waltzed quickly through Ukriane was because the Ukranian armed forces were already pre bribed by Putin top stand down, do nothing, with the “valiant” uro nazies (he didn’t use the words but it was implied”) and ukranian people valiantly stalling the Russian army and putting up a crusader style resistance. I kid you not. Posting daily mail links on his site? Like I said before being “objective”. Just look at this.
https://www.infowars.com/posts/epic-videos-ukrainians-resist-russians-invading-kiev-with-molotov-cocktails-heavy-gunfire/
The comment section (who tend to be pro Russia and Putin) saw through it and were disappointed with covert “cheerleading” calling it fake news.
Zero hedge put this report out. “Ze” govnt asking for Elon Musk to intervene for them.
https://www.zerohedge.com/technology/ukraine-official-asks-elon-musk-starlink-access-russia-invasion-causes-internet
What’s remarkable is to see a top Ukrainian official asking the world’s richest man for internet access on Twitter.
NATO won’t stop and is escalating psychotically. Holland and Nordic nations have defacto declared war on Russia by these actions: Sweden promised 5,000 shoulder fire rockets, 5,000 body armor kits and 135,000 MRE’s to Ukraine. The Netherlands promised 50 anti tank launchers with 400 rounds, 100 sniper rifles with 30,000 rounds and 200 stinger missiles to Ukraine. Denmark has offered 2.700 anti-tank weapons.
When they arrive is another story.
Just a thought: “Is it permissible to wage war against your brothers?” The answer: “It is permissible, but only if there is sorrow in your heart.” I think I read it in the Mahabharata, an epic tale from India. Rancour is not necessary.
Just a thought: Chechnya and its capital city Grosny have been rebuilt and are prospering. This contrasts sharply to cities like Mosul, Raqqa, Falludja and Bagdad, devastated by the war of Bush and Blair.
There is a difference.
Dear Andrei,
I am from Ethiopia (Africa). Your blog is my most preferred site to visit, learn and reflect. Specific to the Western populace, until today, I had the same frustration level as you reflected yesterday. But after reading the reflections in the comments, I understood that voices are suppressed in the West, perhaps, more than even in Africa. I am deeply touched by their honesty.
By coincidence, I am a follower of the oriental orthodox church like you do. I share most, if not all, of your feelings about humanity. Kindly, I earnestly implore to you to continue your wonderful job.
Humanity could continue b/se of the sacrifice of few selfless people like you. Not by the actions of the decietful scums!
Excuses for my language/ignorance.
Thank you Andrei.
Is this live map accurate?

No
Andrei
Highly, HIGHLY inaccurate. It is an 100% pro Ukie, propaganda site and has been since the Syrian war where they fully sided with ISIS/Jihad/Al-qaeda/Al-Nusra.
EVERYTHING on their map is completely wrong and they do their absolute utmost to never mark newly capped territories by Russia.
Usually they will update it eventually but they are always about 2-3 days behind so even now the territories showed captured on there are from about 1.5 days ago whereas Russia has already advanced much farther.
No, but this one is …
https://fivegunswest.blogspot.com/2022/02/22222-i-guess-hunter-is-out-of-job.html
Questions for Andrei if you get around to them:
1) What is the significance of Russian nuclear (and hypersonic) forces being moved to highest alert while the Pentagon has yet to go to DEFCON 1 to match?
2) Given that we are now looking at a complete break from the West, along with maximum insanity and hysteria from said west, to the point of Germany threatening to rearm, everyone offering weapons to the Nazis, and Finland threatening to join NATO, is there any viable scenario for Russia other than actually breaking NATO? Any sort of settlement of this Ukrainian battle just seems like it would put Russia in an even worse security posture with NATO/US. Short of an actual war to crush NATO how is there a diplomatic out now? There is no one to talk to in the collective West now?
3) There have been some interesting moves on the periphery: China announcing a new relationship with North Korea, followed by 2 (I think) missiles tests from North Korea. From at least some sources it sounds like the PLA has begun drills to retake Taiwan. Syria is quiet, but we have to assume Shiogu was not there just for a social call. Is there some reason to suspect the entire resistance alliance to open fronts all over the globe?
4) What to make of Washington’s relative passivity versus the sheer insanity emanating from the EU+pirate islanders?
Things don’t add up for me at the moment, but I’m obviously operating from vastly less information than the operational planners here. But the US position, aside from the expected media hysterics seems weak. I’m still accessing RT/Sputnik etc with no issue, while EU is full on censoring everything. Germany’s announcements today seem like asking Putin to annihilate them again. How the hell does he think Russia is going to take talk of Germany rebuilding their military might?
And the I would expect the Pentagon to immediately react to match Russian nuclear posture. It almost seems like they’re standing down and not doing their job (as an imperial citizen it would be nice if they at least pretended like they were going to threaten counter attack to protect us).
Bottom line is it seems like anything other than Russia (and China and the entire rest of Zone B) getting all their security demands met will leave all parties in a worse position than before. All of the reactions had to be anticipated prior to the military activity, so I can’t believe they weren’t prepared to go all the way from the start.
@Krungle,
The USA military is by definition matching Russia’s nuclear posture. This is a given. They just don’t announce it like Putin does. Putin announces to make sure everyone knows. The USA does so surreptitiously to keep reality from its citizens.
If Russia controls Ukraine and either breaks it into smaller nations (like Yugoslavia) or installs leaders of NovoRussia as leaders of all Ukraine and then give them the means to deal with the resistance, that will be enough. They don’t need to occupy or go to war with NATO.
What worries me is NATO escalation. Seizing Russian ships is bad (France) and closing the Bosporous Strait (Turkey) is already happening. Russia can survive and possibly thrive, despite EU and USA sanctions. But if NATO thinks it can bully Russia on the high seas or mess with its transit routes, then you may get your wish and Russia will go to war with NATO. In that case, I suggest you find a place to “duck and cover.”
I was born in the Midwest of the USA … I’m a senior citizen now … heard all of the propaganda and witnessed a lot of history. What I have to say is that, generally, I dislike and don’t trust most politicians. I know Putin is no worse than any other powerful man and I like him better than most of the leaders in the West and I heard that a lot from people of differing ages. What I do know for certain is that I like people – I like the Russian people and I like them a lot, I like people I’ve met or listened to from all around the globe. There is so much going on behind the scenes that I don’t think anyone who not directly involved with politics and policy can really understand why everything happens as it does – not really. But, people are mostly good – humanity is good.
Well the west was dumbed down on Western controlled propaganda by your rulers, who killed millions in the middle East, nevermind the many millions from all over the world prior. I know that you and I had to accept it, but will have to pay the price of the less than 1% evil demonic greed.
i seriously cant believe the pure crap that is flooding western media. unreal. everything from ukinazi ghost pilot shooting down 15 russ to ms ukie going to war…its so gonzo..very desperate.
i hope russians dont hesitate. its a fine line they dont have all the psyop infowar cards. less room to move that way. hope it doesnt translate into hesitation.
us army document re taiwan literally says destrpy taiwan destroy tsmc go schorched earth make it expensive for china. lol china! fcuk taiwan.
you know and zelenzky should know by now, us is willing to schorch earth him his family and all of it. why? because israel, because pelosis son, bidens son, john kerrys kid, amd mitt romneys kid all are into ukie gas and oil. just 1 reason.
putin needs to not back down. dont hesitate. but this isnt checnya. so his room to move is very limited visavis the end game.
i hope russia is victorious. i hope russian soldiers dont suffer.
god bless them.
Western MSM propaganda does not only sink into fellow westerners’ empty heads, but is also aimed at libtards in Russia.
Those Russians protesting against the war,i would have one question for them,do they care about the genocide in Donbass?
Imagine shock of all these people when they will realize that cauldron in Donbass is closed. It is the same story as with Debaltsevo cauldron. MSM were reporting glorious victories of Ukies, but then there was a brutal crash with reality.
to wit: Ramzan Kadyrov, chechnyan leader said Russia’s tactics are not working because they are too sluggish.
putin hesitated paused the action to meet w zelensky and 2 times zelensky shined putin and flaked on him while asking for negotiations.
is putin that gullible or desperate to negotiate? look at what his hesitation and need for optics has gotten russia?
Scorch kyiv or GO HOME
putin needs to understand there will be no positive public relations from his willingness to negotiate there will be no good light shined on russian forces for their not shelling civilians.
all the infowar and psyops will be bad and put russia in negative light regardless of what russia does.
anymore hesitation and this operation will be a russian failure on putins hands.
are americants and their progeny alqaida isis/l oun/b azov more ruthless than russians in war?
does putin need enemies 15km from moscow to wake the fuck up and grab his balls?
putins need to negotiate has already lost russia the psyops war.
strategic and tactical failure is looming if there is anymore hesitation on putins part.
chess masters dont hesitate to decapitate and judo black belts dont bow in the middle of an attack.
with every hesitation and everytime zelensky shines putin, nato dogs get to bark louder and buy more time.
putin has to finish this and worry about an angry ukie civilian population later, he will not change their minds by pausing to negotiate.
finish fast and arrest and try the principals and show ukie civvies who got them into this.
never negotiate with zionazis.
I’m not sure whether it was you or one of your guest commentators, but someone recently gave some good advice, saying that whatever came out of western media on the Ukraine conflict, we would be well served to believe the exact opposite. I always get suspicious when there is such unanimity of thought on any news item. Even sources that I thought I could trust have joined the parade of Russia haters. Maybe it’s all traceable back to the Soviet times when Russia was our traditional cold war foe, but I suspect it’s something more sinister than that. Anyway, thanks for providing some balance on this issue.
I think this is a disgraceful way to spend European cash, to fund a a side in a war, that’s not even a Nato or EU member I mean is it even legal?
The European Union will finance the purchase and delivery of weapons to Ukraine for the first time, European Commission chief Ursula von der Leyen has announced.
“We are stepping up our support for Ukraine,” von der Leyen said on Sunday, announcing a raft of further measures against Moscow over its ongoing military offensive in Ukraine.
“For the first time, the EU will finance the purchase and delivery of weapons and equipment to a country under attack,” she said.
Before a meeting of EU foreign ministers on Sunday, foreign policy chief Josep Borrell declared that “another taboo has fallen, the taboo that the European Union was not providing arms in a war.”
An EU source told Reuters the bloc plans to spend $507 million (€450 million) on weapons for Ukraine, as well as an additional $56 million (€50 million) on “items such as medical supplies.”

#BREAKING EU countries will provide ‘fighter jets’ to Ukraine under Brussels funding: Borrell
https://twitter.com/AFP/status/1498029493033881601/photo/1
Pat Lang went off the deep end too (thanks Per in RSS news feed) and gave the rationale of the demented. The Pirates are circling the wagons and really wading in. A group light charge leading to an incineration-suicide? Now we know why VVP ordered the “special service regime.”
https://turcopolier.com/the-situation-and-possible-courses-of-action/
Please eat some fats and fruits and plenty of hydration with your carbs and coffee dear Nightvision! Lay off the sweets, it adversely affects blood sugar. Take a nap once every 2-3 days. We need you on station for interesting couple of days ahead. Thanks in advance
Pat Lang is an old warhorse heading to the knackery and needing a last hurrah!
This actually very stupid and amateruish from EU. Imagine EU fighter jets being shot down in Ukrainie. Which will happen. I don’t how they even will deliver them. Upon arrival at airports in the western Ukraine they will be met with Kalibrs.
Pictures of destroyed equipment will be circulating and breaking big egos of western politicians.
Do they think that Ukraine is their last stronghold? Really naive.
And good luck with finding pilots to fly them.
Keep in mind analysts believe this will not be actual EU advanced 5th generation jets or anything like that (i.e. Grippens, Typhoons, Rafales etc, but likely they mean they will use their funds to purchase more Mig-29’s and other stuff Ukraine is used to operating from client countries. Otherwise they would have to send the jets with trainers and such to retrain Ukrainian pilots on brand new technology, don’t think that’s gonna work.
Probably just try to buy some Mig-29’s from Poland/Slovakia/Bulgaria/Romania or whoever else has them, etc. At least that’s my guess.
If they send old soviet ones to Ukraine, that’s is a pure desperation or just political stunt.
“Borrell added that Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba had requested fighter jets that Ukrainian pilots could operate, and that such jets could be procured from certain EU countries. The Ukrainian Air Force uses Soviet-designed MiG-29 and Sukhoi Su-24, Su-25, and Su-27 jets in combat roles, and with the Su-25 used by Bulgaria and the MiG-29 used by Poland, Bulgaria and Slovakia, the jets will likely be sourced from these countries.”
https://www.rt.com/news/550796-eu-fighter-jets-ukraine/
So this effectively also disarms those NATO States?
Collateral dividends?
https://twitter.com/AlexandreKrausz/status/1498034918785531919
Yes, Ukraine specifically said they wanted stuff they could fly, which means old Soviet crap that has zero chance of standing up to modern Russian aircraft. Not to mention it will all be destroyed on arrival – if it even can arrive in time, given how long it will take to get the whole affair set up compared to the pace of the war. Just more delusional thinking from the EU. These guys are really out of touch with reality. Of course, much of it is merely for show that they’re “doing something” – when in reality, they’re doing nothing.
Old crappy planes and four hour war?
———————
“Richard Steven Hack on February 24, 2022 · at 8:08 am EST/EDT
I think the history books are going to call this “The Four-Hour War.”
Pepe Escobar said basically everything military in Ukraine was destroyed within four hours. Actually it was over in the first hour, as the Kiev government froze in the first hour, then the LDPR took out the front line Ukraine command headquarters, presumably killing all the military commanders, leaving no one to issue orders.
Air defenses destroyed, Ukraine Air Force planes fleeing to Romania, Ukraine border guards and units of the Ukraine military laying down arms, the drone base destroyed, Odessa taken by amphibious landing, Russian tanks in Kharkiv, Russian paratroopers landing, Russian forces rolling in from Belarus (according to a CNN video).”
https://t.me/intelslava said that,too.
I just wonder how they get them in there. Are pilots included, if not, are there enough Ukrainian pilots available, how long,do they need to train Ukrainians on NATO-machines and where?
Oh, will anybody be able to read the English manual for the ejection seat?
I think these people, planning stuff like this, are as brain-dead as a doorknob.
Our German Reichskanzler Scholz plans to spend 100 billion for our new Wehrmacht, since the Ivan is on our doorstep – again.
I would be interested to know how they will get there.
Please use a short sensible name – not an email address. Edited. Mod.
The OFFICIAL TWITTER ACCOUNT of Ukrainian National Guard has posted a video of the nazi Azov battalion greasing their bullets with pig fat / pork to use against “Kadyrov’s Chechen ORCS”. Not only is this a racist outrage against Muslims worldwide but it has exposed the utter hypocrisy of Twitter which has allowed a national official account to post this. How will the billions of muslims worldwide react to this? How about the ones who stand with Ukraine and are against Russia? How can this be allowed on Twitter from the Zio-controllers under Jack Dorsey?
https://twitter.com/ng_ukraine/status/1497924614865002497
This should be sent to Muslims all around the world. But I am sure that Mr Kadyrov will spread the message.
Dear Nightvision,
Re: “How will the billions of muslims worldwide react to this?”
Like Muslims and Hindus given pork-greased and beef-greased bullets in the Demonic and Degenerate British Raj of 1850s, they will bite the bullet. Soldiers will carry on. What else can they do? And Chechens are not made of cotton-candy.
Please ignore this sappy nonsense.

Major update re: casualties.
Russian MOD for the first time officially acknowledged that there are casualties but stated they are no where near the casualty numbers of Ukrop forces. Konashenkov also stated that a small amount of Russian troops have been captured and are being tortured by Ukrainians “in the manner of Nazi’s in WW2”.
Then there is a report from an unofficial source who claims to have a contact in Russian MOD who says that casualties appear to be in 250-300 range but this INCLUDES DNR/LNR and may or may not include POW’s as often those are blanketly counted in ‘casualty’ statistics. So if you deduce from that, let’s just say split evenly between Russian / DNR/LNR there may be anywhere in range of 125-150 Russian losses so far. You can argue maybe even less like 50 if the much less trained DNR/LNR forces are suffering more losses, or you can argue Russia has more losses due to the fact that they’re doing most of the fighting/attacking. Impossible to say. With that said, if they ARE counting captures/POW’s in that unofficial ‘casualty’ statement then actual KIA losses for Russia alone may be as little as 50-100 with another few dozen captures, etc. This is roughly in line with what I’ve been estimating myself. But of course this is all just pure speculation and that unofficial report is completely unconfirmed and will never be confirmed so take with grain of salt. With that said, if the numbers are in general ballpark accurate, then I’d estimate Ukrop losses at probably at least 500-1000 so far, maybe more.
Remember the Nagorno-Karabakh war of 2020 between Armenia / Azerbaijan lasted from 27 September to 10 November. In that span of about 45 days there was officially 3,000 and 4,000 losses on each side.
Btw I wanted to mention that U.S. cleverly disguises their own casualties/losses with the following trick: they use “combat losses” in every major theatre and the trick is: any soldier who is wounded then dies even in a medivac helicopter, cannot be qualified under “combat loss” because he did not die in combat. The vast majority of troop deaths don’t die instantly inside the combat but in such circumstances as hospitals and in transit after suffering blood loss/unsurvivable wounds etc. So the vast majority of U.S. losses are not counted and listed in “combat losses”. Neat trick!
The US also does not include, in counts, contractor losses or non-combat accidents.
I hope the Russians know what they’re doing. But…the military march to Bagdad was not the story of Iraq. The failure to establish a stable proxy government with control over reliable security forces was the source of failure, If the Russians do not have strong, reliable, local proxy forces lined up to take over the country after the invasion, they are going to have a problem. The US plan in Iraq was to pull out all forces within a month of taking Bagdad, not occupation. But there was so much internal strife they had to stay. There are two main US thrusts. 1) Suck Russia into an endless war against a local insurgency, and 2) wreak the Russian economy with economic isolation. It is simply not true that the economic moves by the US will not have a major effect on the Russian economy. On the contrary, it will cause the collapse of the rouble, serious inflation, and at least 2-3 years recession in Russia. The hope is that a serious economic downturn coupled with a grinding insurgency will destabilize Russia and cause regime change or at the very least weaken it as an ally of China.
There will be no insurgency. Only the most radical nazi battalions fiercely hate Russia. Many Ukrainians including military support Russia. As soon as new gov’t is installed in Ukraine, the military will be ordered to have good relations and the nazi’s will be rounded up.
This may sound idealistic to you, but Ukraine/Russian relations and brotherhood is not to be compared to Iraq/U.S. and Iraqi hatred of American occupiers. All that needs to happen is pro Russian gov’t installed in Ukraine and start giving orders to their military.
But we’ll see, maybe I’m completely out of touch and wrong and you’re right.
In Iraq US in their hubris did an insane experiment in ‘small govt’, meaning they abolished the army and a host of basic services/institutions serving the population overnight. This turned everyone against them as suffering and desperation spread. Then an equally insane experiment in ‘networked soldiers/tactics’ that failed and did much to end Rumsfeld’s career.
Looks like you have internalized US/NATO propaganda a little too much The parallel with the US’s problems in Iraq is wrong on several counts. Firstly, geography and distances: the US was very far from Iraq, while Russia is next-door. War is logistics and supplies, and supplies and logistics. Think about that. Secondly, the US didn’t give a shit about how many Iraqis they killed or how many civilians they slaughtered; the Russians so far have been very restrained in using heavy artillery and have avoided “shock and awe (copyright the Pentagon)” to minimize civilian casualties. That means they have plenty and mighty backup and reserves just in case. Thirdly, the US objective was to get control over Iraqi oil; there is no rational reason for the Russians to covet Ukrainian territory, for the simple reason there is very little to covet there. Finally, for Russia this is not, repeat not, a war with Ukraine, it is a war with the US/NATO for Russia’s very existence. Therefore, once Ukraine as a location is rendered unusable for use by NATO, it will be mission accomplished for Russia. Russia’s first choice of course would be a peaceful Ukraine next door; but if it does not happen, a weak and failed state next door will be acceptable as long as it loses the ability to act as a US/NATO proxy.
This isn’t the US in Iraq which was imperial over-reach achieving nothing.
Russia has already achieved two, irreversible strategic victories. Namely, restoring water supplies and strategic depth to Crimea and relieving pressure on fellow countrymen in Donbass. Disarming the entire Ukraine and sending the neo-Nazis scurrying westward are just bonus points.
I’m sorry but the US (aka NATO) plan in Iraq 2003 was to completely destroy the country so it could be plundered at will, and it would never be a stable country again with unified command and a voice.
That’s the rationale behind the « liberation » of Afg, Iraq, Lybia, Syria, Yemen. They have plans in that sense to utterly destroy the Caribbean basin and they are already working to (further) destroy the horn of Africa.
Search the Rumsfeld-Cebrowski doctrine, disclosed in books and reports by some Burnett guy.
The replies to your post cover the main military and political counterarguments. As to sanctions, you are seriously misinformed. First, the ruble will not collapse where it counts, which is within the Russian national economy. Folks in the RF do not need imported goods from the EU or the US. The ruble within the RF has well-established value relative to the Russian internal markets. It doesn’t matter what level it reaches on the FOREX. Trade with countries and entities that do not rely on USUK/EU currencies – which includes China and, increasingly, central and south Asia – will trade via the new CIPS system or with their own currencies. That’s why the Russian banking minister reported $650 billion in hard money equivalents (used USD because that is a standard that folks understand – granted that it is degrading by the day). I doubt inflation, too, because the RF has the fossil fuel that is used as the driver for inflation in the nations that import oil and gas. I suppose if Gazprom wanted to gouge their own countrymen, it could – at least until the government put a stop to it – which I do not doubt they would in short order. Recession – appears to me that the new economic order in Asia has sufficient resources, labor, technology, and markets to just keep on keeping on.
Thank you all who have posted above for your thoughtful comments. Allow me to post two references to further argue my assertions. I think you will find them valuable in understanding the US strategy I have outlined above.

For those interested in knowing what does it mean for Russian MOD to put strategic nuclear weapons on alert. Here’s a twitter thread describing the process:
“What does raising the alert level of Russian nuclear forces entail?
Russian nuclear forces can be divided into strategic (which can reach the US) and nonstrategic (which can’t.) I’m looking to see whether strategic forces, nonstrategic forces, or both are alerted. (1/n)
Day to day, Russian nonstrategic warheads are kept separate from delivery systems in “centralized” storage (an organizational not a geographic term).
A first step to prepare these warhead for use would be to move them to the sites where the delivery systems are located. (2/n)
Some strategic delivery systems–silo-based ICBMs and SSBNs at sea–are kept ready for use with minimal preparations. Russia may be able to send additional SSBNs to sea. (3/n)
Russia’s road-mobile ICBMs are not survivable when in their garrisons, but are highly survivable when dispersed (likely more survivable than SSBNs). So, these would likely be dispersed as part of any alert of strategic forces. (4/n)
Warheads are not mated to strategic bombers on a day-to-day basis, but they are located on-site. It is possible that warheads could be loaded on these aircraft. Even more aggressively, aircraft could be placed on airborne alert. (5/n)
There could well be numerous changes to other aspects of Russia’s nuclear posture: more troops called up, airborne command-and-control aircraft alerted, security as bases increased. (6/n)
Thanks for the update Saker, thats bad that Mriupol will have to be taken the hard way,i just hope some of those Azov bastards are taken alive to stand trial, any news on the Chechen boys who may relish a street fight? just pity the poor civilians.
Tactics of the Armed Forces in the SAR.
Encirclement and blocking (Mariupol, like other cities, is surrounded and blocked).
Withdrawal of the civilian population.
Surrender to terrorists. Or providing them with a “Green Corridor” to the filtration zone.
…
For those who read my posts I side with Russia in this and other things of late because on proper analysis of what is going on it and Putin are right to deal with this insurrection in the CIS on their border.
If they were wrong, I would not.
Its akin to the 1962 USSR Cuban Missile Crisis in reverse.
And the US and NATO should know better than to pull a stunt like this.
Lets hope the situation get dealt with asap and it would be good to hear that Ukrainian freedom fighters have joined the Russian forces to liberate the place.

FOX NEWS host Harris Faulkner turns to Condoleezza Rice this morning and says, “When you invade a sovereign nation, that is a war crime” — Rice nods in solemn agreement. Just incredible. Establishment factions are going all-out leveraging this to whitewash their own past actions

These people are sick. The cynicism is beyond the pale.
She was part of the invasion of two countries. Her response is completely disingenuous. History will laugh it´s ass off at her and that ilk in the future. The moderator was either on the take or completely spaced out not knowing to whom she was talking. Nice Call Nightvision.
Thanks for all of your updates. I have seen a lot of propaganda, and it seems to be wishful thinking on the part of the west.
I was already thinking (before your updates), that it would be slow going for the Russians, since their goal is not to bomb everything. If they were like the US, no one would have water or power.
I have absolutely nothing to contribute to the “military and technical means” that Russia is undertaking in “Ukraine” as I type. Saker has done and is doing a fantastic job in that regard. But I do have something to contribute that I will place before the commentators while it is still possible for me to do so. I will fully understand if this desperate comment never sees the light of day, so moderators please send it to the circular file for permanent storage if you so desire.
Hopefully, by now people everywhere understand that World Peace is a far greater threat to the US’s war-based economy than perpetual, profitable wars of outright thievery.
I have always watched some western MSM in order to determine what the western oligarchic transnational elite collective wants the individual members of its bewildered herds to think and, more importantly, how it wants the members of its herds to behave — what herd members will say to each other in conversation on a daily basis and what WOTEC action they will support politically – specifically, what (and, therefore, who) they will “vote for” — be it in a voting booth or on a street or on a battlefield, at any moment in time.
What I am witnessing now is a near-universal, 24/7 MSM campaign to demonize anything and everything Russian. The most important, frightening propaganda I’m hearing and reading is that what Russia is doing is “unprovoked aggression”. The people that are saying and writing this know that this is not true (just as they knew that the Tangerine Jackass was not an agent of Mr. Putin, etc.), yet they continue to say and write it. They are doing this because in order for these individuals, repeat, individuals, to keep their well-paying jobs, they must never publish anything that, when it comes to anything Russian, bears any resemblance to the truth – in other words, to the past reality of the US failing to order its mercenary-nation Ukraine to follow the terms of the Minsk II agreement which was made law by the UN. The instant anyone steps out of line, like that German admiral did recently, they will lose their jobs and they and their families will suffer.
This process of “natural selection” in the WOTEC results in the most rabid anti-Russian being the most rewarded and, most importantly, granted the most power. This is, and always was, a fatal flaw in the US’s “economic system”. This should now be perfectly obvious to everyone, including cadavers.
This phenomenon of the most rabid anti-Russian being the most rewarded and granted the most power is a perfectly “natural” feature of a nation that, again, has a perpetual-war-based economy that vitally requires perpetual “enemies” and that treats the world outside of US borders as an abattoir for “Making America Great Again” or “Building Back Better”.
The other members of the WOTEC are, essentially, pilot fish that consume the scraps left behind from whatever living thing the US Great White Shark has recently murdered in cold blood.
The WOTEC can no longer financially/economically “afford” a long cold war with China and Russia, whose capitalist systems have both beaten the US capitalist system version at its own game. The US system is already the loser in this “competition”, and we have all seen what happens to competitive losers in capitalist systems. They “go out of business”, go bankrupt and conduct auctions of their stock, equipment, software, land, etc., usually at fire sale prices, to be bought by the more “successful” competitors.
But in this case the US is going to, as Mike Pompeo said, lie, cheat and steal to prevent the US from becoming the officially, universally recognized loser nation. It will kill millions to prevent itself from becoming just another, as the Tangerine Jackass put it so eloquently, “shit-hole country”.
There is one, and only one, “direction” that the official western MSM narrative and its promoters concerning Russia can logically lead – either to Russia and China surrendering, or to all-out war, and in this day and age that means nuclear war. Literally all that the US has left to possibly defeat Russia and China in this grand-chessboard competition is the use of nuclear weapons. Mr. Potato Head has essentially said just that, if sanctions don’t make Russia and China suffer enough.
There was recently a UN declaration by the “official” nuclear powers that they would not use nuclear weapons in war. To the US, that declaration means absolutely nothing. Did MPH’s “WWIII” mean a conventional WWIII? No, it did not.
Therefore, IMO, in order to survive in its present state, the US and its disgusting vassal states will/must use nuclear weapons in a massive first-strike on Russia. The 24/7 anti-Russian propaganda that we are seeing today will allow WOTEC’s bewildered herds to be OK with this first-strike on Russia. Afterward, Madeleine, Hillary and Kamala will say that it was a terrible thing to be forced to do, but doing so was “worth it”.
Again, the WOTEC are already perfectly comfortable with lying, cheating, stealing and murdering millions of people to get what they want. This isn’t a theory or mere speculation. This is a historically proven fact. The WOTEC and its herd members rationalize it to themselves by saying that they’re exceptional; they see farther; they’ve been selected by God, etc.
But the leaders and people of nations outside of the WOTEC want an equitable, just world in which everyone can live in peace and prosperity. Unlike the WOTEC, they are not comfortable lying, cheating, stealing and murdering millions of people to get what they want. They have a conscience. They are moral. They are ethical. They empathize with the suffering of other human beings. They do not believe that “might makes right”. They do not believe that humans should live in a dog-eat-dog, law-of -the-jungle world.
Therefore, now more than ever, the Russian leadership and the average Russian people have to understand a very important principle.
“Fighting for your life isn’t the same as murder.”
— General Black in “Fail Safe”
Literal murderers in DC and in the capitols of their vassal murderer-nations are at this moment attempting to murder Russia and the Russian people, Iran and the Iranian people, China and the Chinese people, Syria and the Syrian people, Cuba and the Cuban people, Venezuela and the Venezuelan people, etc. This behavior is called the crime of attempted murder. In a “just” world these crimes would already have been identified, arrests of the perpetrators made and the attempted murderers severely punished to the full extent of the law. That this has not been done indicates that, up to this point in time, anyway, ours is not a just world. It is a lawless world.
“Successful” Western regime-change operations, wars and “sanctions” have already killed millions of people, from infant to adult. This behavior is called the crime of premeditated murder in the first degree. In a “just” world these crimes would already have been identified, arrests of the perpetrators made and the murderers severely punished to the full extent of the law. That this has not been done indicates that, up to this point in time, anyway, ours is not a just world. It is a lawless world.
All of the West’s living victims are, literally, in the process of “fighting for their lives”. Therefore, any act, and I do mean literally any act that permanently stops the murderers in their tracks would, to any objective observer, be classified as an act of self-defense……… again, an act of “fighting for your life”, NOT murder. This is the all-important distinction between murder and fighting for your life that the Russian leadership and average Russians MUST fully understand. People who are fighting for their lives have to look upon their mortal enemies in the same way that dog-lovers look upon a rapidly approaching rabid dog. The hopelessly insane dog’s life must be ended in order to protect the people living in the neighborhood.
Fully appreciating the difference between murdering and fighting for your life will help the victims of US-ordered aggression cope with the aftermath of being forced to commit a terrible, easily justifiable, IMO absolutely necessary act that they will inevitably have to commit in order to survive.
Selecting the correct target (the rabid dog) for that terrible-yet-necessary act is of utmost importance, because not destroying the correct target will inevitably lead to the extinction of almost 8 billion people and human “civilization” itself.
If the correct target is destroyed, the rabid dog’s vassals will almost certainly bend their knees to the rabid dog’s destroyer and rejoice in their freedom.

I’m sorry for being so gloomy, but I believe that what is almost certainly coming is going to be far gloomier than mere words. Very, very desperate people like Mr. Potato Head are saying things like “Look, you have two options: start a third world war – go to war with Russia, physically, or two: make sure that a country that acts so contrary to international law pays a price for having done it,” So “all options are on the table” consists of only 2 options.
Just exactly WHOM is MPH threatening – Russia or the US’s very own vassals (to do exactly what they’re ordered to do, or else the US will start WWIII)? IMO, it’s the latter. What if option 2 doesn’t make Russia “pay a price”?! Option 1, of course.
Is anything I’ve written today any more alarming than what MPH said yesterday?
If the US did a first nuclear strike on Russia, China would immediately respond with a nuclear strike on the US, which would be additional to the Russian counter strike.
China would have no other choice.
I wouldn’t doubt it, after all, China/Russia share border and nuclear radioactive waste would pollute China which means nuclear strike on Russia has the potential to kill hundreds of thousands or millions of Chinese. With that said, any nuclear exchange would also REQUIRE (as per doctrine) the nuking of facilities housing nuclear arsenal which includes nuking Europe (german/italian/turkish bases etc which house american nukes) which means European nuclear countries like France/England would see missiles heading roughly their way and be forced to respond for the same reasons as the above and as such, a nuclear exchange between U.S./Russia would very likely have to include an exchange of pretty much all global nuclear powers.
1. In order to carry out a nuclear strike, the United States needs to prepare for a year. You cannot keep it secret and you are guaranteed to receive the so-called. “reciprocal”, in fact “preemptive strike”, from Mother Russia.
2. China has nothing to answer, they have an IRBM with a nuclear part, and even then a little. And so some show-off. But the underground infrastructure is like in North Korea. In rocky soil, partly deeper than 100 km (!). Underground civilizations. )))
Thanks Ishkabibble, thought provoking as always.
For those unfamiliar with WOTEC = Western Oligarchic Transnational Elite Collective. This is a useful term for Zone A oligarchs.
I agree. I don’t follow MSM for years now, but based on others’ description I had same sense from the supernova-like heating of the media hysteria. It doesn’t bode well. They are working themselves into a lather, and like the invasion meme, they need to deliver.
However it may not be so sanguine for WOTEC. Be comforted. Haven’t the Russians and Chinese and Iranians been several steps ahead of them each time? Perhaps the non-first-use doctrine has become conditional to non-deranged circumstances, which no longer apply? What is current mindset in the Stavkas? N. Korea has been firing off missiles and opening special liaisons with the Chinese. I would say the opposing side is fully alert on station. And I recall the street rules of St. Petersburg, to paraphrase, “if a fight is inevitable, strike first.”
Re: “This is the all-important distinction between murder and fighting for your life that the Russian leadership and average Russians MUST fully understand.” IMO they do understand. And are fully awakened now and in process of fighting back, God help us all. They waited until had sufficient weaponry to guarantee retaliation, even if surprised.
Re: “That this has not been done indicates that, up to this point in time, anyway, ours is not a just world. It is a lawless world.” On the surface, this is true. However another way of looking at it is their crimes are of such magnitude, and the Anger of our Lord such, that he reserves a special punishment for them in the next life.. The wise repent, and seek their punishment/atonement in this life. What loss for them! They got to strut for a brief flicker in Time on this worthless dimension. And for those fated to suffer under their tyranny, what is 50-100 years in comparison to eternity? Such evil in the big scale of Time is blessedly brief.
They are truly Losers in every sense of the word, lacking inner contentment, security or grace. Tormented by constant demonic companions. Yet that alcoholic under the bridge or the coolie in underdeveloped lands have such peace, ability to laugh naturally with other humans, and sleep like babes.. So there is a measure of Justice even now.
