https://southfront.org/russia-considers-delivery-of-s-300-air-defense-systems-to-syria/
Russia may “soon” deliver S-300PMU-2 ‘Favorite’ missile defense systems to Syria, the Russian newspaper Kommersant reported on April 23 citing two military diplomatic sources.
The S-300PMU-2 ‘Favorite’ is an export version of the Russian S-300 missile defense system. It has the range of 195 km and uses the 48N6E2 missile. This missile can be used against aircraft, cruise missiles, UAVs, theater ballistic missiles, even against intercontinental ballistic missiles.
According to the newspaper’s sources, the air defense systems deliveries will be made free of charge. The alleged goal of the effort is to assist the Syrian military in establishing a multi-layered air defense across the country.
The S-300PMU-2 systems will integrated into this multi-layered air defense to provide additional defense to Damascus and the country’s airfields from missile strikes. Kommersant’s sources said that the S-300 deliveries are mostly a “political” decision and it is almost made.
The Russian military has already established an air-defense net in Syria in order to protect own military facilities. These air defenses have not been officially engaged in repelling any strikes on Syrian forces. However, according to local and official sources, the Russian military is actively involved in training and advising Syrian air defense troops as well as contributing efforts to modernize the country’s air defense capabilities.
Earlier in April, Russian military sources revealed that the Syrian Air Defense Forces (SADF) had received 40 Pantsir-S1 short-to-medium range air defense systems from the Russian Armed Forces. The Pantsir-S1 is designed to defend important installations and to provide cover for long-range air defense systems, for example S-300s.
Damascus and Moscow reached an agreement on the S-300 systems delivery in 2010. However, the contract was frozen because of a complicated political and security situation in the region. Then, Israel was one of the key critics of the deal.
Following the April 14 missile strike on Syria by the US, the UK and France, Russia officially declared that it had returned to an idea of S-300 delivery to Syria.
Such a move, if the delivery is made, they may trigger a local crisis over Syria. Israel and its key ally, the US, will likely fiercely react to such a move, which they will consider as a direct threat to their regional military diplomatic strategy. The Israeli military may even respond by attempting to destroy the systems en route to their deployment sites. This will cause another local encounter between the Israeli Air Force and the SADF.
Israeli experts and leadership have repeatedly voiced concern over the increased efficiency of the Syrian Air Defense Forces.
These concerns have become especially loud after the Israeli Air Force lost a F-16I fighter jet during the operation against Syria on February 10, 2018. Should the SADF obtain S-300 systems it will further limit offensive capabilities of the IAF’s capabilities to deliver strikes on targets in Syria, including Iranian forces deployed at the country’s military facilities.
On the other hand, the S-300 delivery will be an important bargaining chip in the ongoing diplomatic standoff over the Syrian conflict. The Syrian-Iranian-Russian alliance and Turkey have contributed notable efforts to settle the conflict using their influence on the ground. In turn, the US-Israeli bloc has repeatedly attempted to undermined their efforts. However, the both sides understand that they should find some common ground if they want to avoid an open military conflict and are searching various options allowing to pressure opponents for own advantage.
Yes, the US and Israel will fiercely object to the delivery of the S-300 to Syria. On the other hand, why should they ? Ah yes, so that they can fly over and bomb the sovereign territory of another country, as if they have the right to do so. By the way, both should not forget the Pantsir which Syria has. A heap of Trumps cruise missiles were shot down by the Pantsir.
The Pantsir is considered a “point defense weapon”. It is comprised of both auto-cannons and missiles, and is designed to shoot down objects trying to attack the target being defended. According to wikipedia, the missiles have an operational range of 20km. The auto-cannon of course have a shorter range and are used to provide a rapid-fire curtain of lead to stop missiles that have gotten that far.
Thus, the Pantsir is useful to put it at or near someplace you think might be a target of enemy missiles or the sort of airstrikes that use very short-range air-surface weapons. It thus would be effective if placed at a Damascus airfield that you thought someone would like shoot cruise missiles at.
The S-300 is more of an area defense weapons. The export version is reported above to have missiles with an operational range of 195km. Its thus the sort of weapon a force could set up in an area and then shoot-down anything that flies within 100 to 200 km of the weapon. The internet says that Safed in Israel is 97 km from Damascus, and the old crusader port of Acre is 133 km. Thus why Israel was concerned. On the other hand, the US has no problems putting its long range THAAD system next to China, or its other ‘defense’ missiles in Poland. Sounds like one fallout factor of recent US and Israel military activity within the sovereign nation of Syria is that this shipment is now moving forward. With the Russians saying its free just to make sure that others get the point.
It does always seem as if the US has never quite thought thinks through. Of course, I think of the US leaders (political and military) as more of crooked poker players carrying guns, than the sort of chess masters who’ve seen every move from now to the checkmate.
Israel doesn’t seem to get the concept of ‘borders’.
One of the arguments against states ‘recognizing the State of Israel’ is that Israel never defines its borders. Just what exactly are people being asked to recognize?
Israel regularly attacks people who ‘approach’ the borders. The most obvious example is the various executions of protestors for simply marching up to the borders. The key fact about both of those statements is that they don’t actually cross the border. Therefore, they are outside of Israel. No state has the right to kill people in a neighboring country.
And of course, Israel regularly violates the air space of Lebanon and bombs in Syria. Again, no country has the right to just go into another country and just blow stuff up, nor does any country have the right to fly uninvited into another country’s airspace. Among other things, that’s a violation of the UN Charter.
And Israel constantly seems to feel that it has the right to dictate to neighboring states just who can be their friends and allies, which of course is none of Israel’s business.
Which means they are all ready there, ready and integrated with Russia’s defense systems. According to Martyanov, more goodies like Tor-M2 has found their way to Syrian air defenses as well.
After weeks of warming Syria’s enemies up to this fact there is not a chance they could have missed it, including the fake jew Polish-Lithuanian squatters in occupied Palestine
“…the fake jew Polish-Lithuanian squatters in occupied Palestine” — thanks, I like that description. Hope to see more of it around in due course. Kinda has a ring of truth to it.
I’ve met such ‘jews’ in LA – very blond and Scandinavian looking – I told them there is no way they really were jews. 95% of the other ones I’ve met there look like my Serbian family. In other words – very Eastern European
@mikhas
Good! Russia knows there is no time to waste. And, yes, I also loved your ‘the fake jew Polish-Lithuanian squatters in occupied Palestine’. I hope they understand that their future is grim…
If all 4 corners of an S-300 setup had Pantsir S2 protection in place ahead of time and any S-300 systems in transit were similarly protected by these mobile Pantsir systems then that should teach the arrogant Israelis to stay away. Oooh! Oooh! Anti-semitic!
One source I read said there is a naval version of Pansir. Which means its most certainly on those warships that Russia keeps just off the coast for air defense. The cargo ship bringing the S-300 will be well protected. Once they are off loaded, there are also mobile versions of Pansir that could ride shotgun on the ride to a setup location, which as you say, could also have Pansir pre-deployed.
Add in a Russian AWACS plane flying watch overhead. And maybe have that handful of nice modern air superiority fighters that Russia has stationed in Syria up and flying at that time, and that sounds like a much tougher target than the Israelis like to take on.
Instead of ishrealis, better say mikhas’ ‘the fake jew Polish-Lithuanian squatters in occupied Palestine’, hehe…
Bibi the Yahu is having an apoplexy. I’m happy.
Oy vey, oy vey! ;-) Me too, very!
Decently done Southfront report, but:
“Such a move, if the delivery is made, they may trigger a local crisis over Syria. Israel and its key ally, the US, will likely fiercely react to such a move, which they will consider as a direct threat to their regional military diplomatic strategy. The Israeli military may even respond by attempting to destroy the systems en route to their deployment sites. This will cause another local encounter between the Israeli Air Force and the SADF.”
A couple things there. First the usa is israel’s key colony, not ally. The second is that any S-300s sent to Syria would be accompanied by Russian people. Both those delivering the weapons and training the Syrians in their use. So any zionazi attack will be also upon Russians, not just Syrians. And the Russians have already articulated what that means for those doing the attacking.
“On the other hand, the S-300 delivery will be an important bargaining chip in the ongoing diplomatic standoff over the Syrian conflict. The Syrian-Iranian-Russian alliance and Turkey have contributed notable efforts to settle the conflict using their influence on the ground. In turn, the US-Israeli bloc has repeatedly attempted to undermined their efforts. However, the both sides understand that they should find some common ground if they want to avoid an open military conflict and are searching various options allowing to pressure opponents for own advantage.”
I think the zionazis want an open military conflict in Syria, especially now, since their terrorists are failing badly. All these zionazi provocations against Syria and her Allies have been attempts to get a response the zionazi can then use to get more openly and directly involved in a hot war, and thus rescue their terrorists and their yinon plan war.
Vot tak,
All these zionazi provocations against Syria and her Allies have been attempts to get a response the zionazi can then use to get more openly and directly involved in a hot war…
Agreed. I’ve no doubt that’s the long-term plan that Israel and her myriad agents (USG, Congress, business, think tanks, unis, media, NGOs, etc) in the US are working on…a war between the RF and US (with UK/Europe/Saudis in tow), that even if it doesn’t go nuclear, would so exhaust the two states militarily and economically that they’ll be in no position to oppose Israel when it embarks on implementing the Yinon Plan.
They’ve suffered a setback in Syria and Yinon will have to wait a little while, but just a while…
The recent missile attack on Syria is interesting: if the RF narrative is to be believed, and there’s no reason to doubt it, then the US military — even while their spokesmen are singing praises in public about the effectiveness of US way of waging war — will have to hunker down and revisit a fundamental pillar in US strategy and that is US military doctrine. The cherished AirSea Battle doctrine that was rehearsed in Syria recently and which is predicated on precision guided munitions doing their job has suffered a setback I think.
The world’s second largest airforce, the US Navy, would be particularly interested. No carrier-borne aircraft took part in the attack on Syria but with the Truman battle group steaming into theatre and ‘into range’ so to speak, surely the admiral in charge would be fretting if his precious F-18s could actually deliver the destruction or not. And what to do if a missile comes screaming at him at 10 times the speed of sound. Yes, the lights will be burning bright deep into the night not just in the Pentagon but at military HQs everywhere in Natoland.
RF is finally drawing a big red line in Syria because it foresees what the Zios have planned for the Donbass. Armenia is not looking too good either; and it’s going to get worse if they manage to instigate a fracas with Azerbaijan, both friends of RF and right on RF’s southern doorstep. I think RF is in effect saying to the Zios, ‘this nonsense stops here.’ Make a move in the Ukraine and we’ll make a bigger move here, nearer to your home.

Actually, Israel is a Rothschild ‘Octopus’crime family colony used to wag the US dog.
Clarity on these matters is difficult to achieve given the propaganda we have been innundated with since birth but scapegoating the wrong people is music to Zionazi ears.
The US is a thing and moves according to the will of people. We need to change the mindset of these people by telling them the Truth. There is no other path to victory however hard it may be to crack the consciousness of their zombified slaves.
Come to think of it, Zionazism is rather a good explanation for what these people represent. Only the United States, in alliance with Russia, can break down this Zionazi mafia and prevent their plan for a genocidal world war.
There seems to be a group in the Pentagon, burrowed in since Cheney was Secretary of Defense, which believes that Russia is so weak that they would not retaliate even if we nuked Moscow. They seem to believe that America is invulnerable. In other words, they are insane. I am not confident, with lunatic John Bolton appointed as Trump’s National Security Advisor, that sane people will be able to restrain them much longer.
Yet, it was apparently the Pentagon and SecDef Mattis that put the kibosh on Trump’s idea to attack Russian and Iranian sites in Syria last time. Somebody in the Pentagon then wasn’t feeling very invulnerable when push came to shove about possibly starting WW3. Even Bolton decided that starting world war 3 on his first week on the job would be bad form.
I’m not saying that there aren’t some crazies in the US military officer corps. The US Air force Academy has long been a hotbed of Christian Fundamentalism that wants to go forth and kill and bomb and maim in the name of Jesus Christ. But so far the guy known as MadDog as proven to have at least some sanity, and he’s the top dog for now.
They will probably considering of delivery S-300 to Syria for the “Ruski rok”, which is longer than normal.
Beside they must to accommodate the interest of they tribesmen in Palestine. It is not necessary to read between the lines just understand what they say plainly and is never for she’d what they decide. They play the more dirty game than the Evil Empire which for its honesty in proliferating the Evil deserves more “respect”.
The costs of not delivering the anti air missiles to the syrians will be far bigger than the israeli and west ‘rewards’ for not doing so.
PS
what must have been China´s role in boosting Jong Un to make such a bold move in practically three or four weeks. A tectonic shift in perspective?
Or what ´up behind the curtains?
Something must have occurred and it is not any washington´s merit to it.
Besides, good old Jong promises ‘denuclearization’ of the entire peninsula.
Of course the US troops posess nukes in the south.
Not even external monitoring the indispensables use to allow…
anyone believing they will give up the nukes is a perfect Santa Claus believer as well.
My suspicion is that China, probably combined with Russia, gave Kim a gurantee of security from US attack.
Kim certainly wouldn’t trust the US, and the US hasn’t even made any promises yet. So that’s not it. But there were talks between China and N. Korea and Russia and N.Korea.
In Cold War 1.0, the US ‘protected’ the European NATO countries by bringing them ‘under the nuclear umbrella’. I suspect China and Russia have made the same sort of promise to North Korea.
“You can do anything with bayonets except sit on them”. You can gain ground with bombers, but you need men to hold that ground. The AZC gained the ME 100 years ago, with the Anglo-French-Zionist-USA invasion known as WW1; but it has never been able to hold it down. By importing King Saud and his backwoods religion they managed to keep Saudi Arabia quiet, but the rest of the ME fought back. The British army was still “putting down riots in Baghdad” when Rommel turned up in WW2 to claim a share of the oil for that other White Master Race. Hence the incessant return invasions into the ME. Anti-Aircraft defenses help the natives defend themselves — but their greatest defense is this –:
“Should want to understand how tough is the battle for southern Damascus you will have to watch the 6 minutes video below, close quarter battle, fierce, rough, but look at the morale of these heroes, their eyes are bright, their heads are tall, this is a victorious army and people, Syria will emerge so united and strong once victory is final and every inch of Syria, including Golan are recovered.

Unfortunately the first frame in the video says it all. Tow missiles have destroyed 1000 Syrian tanks and killed the crews, yet Syria still send out their best men in tin cans that have no protection. The bare minimum would be K5 ERA on the turret and sideskirts and such a low cost easy fit, but no nothing at all. The Russians and Assad need a good kick in the pants. To think that these poor guys might have to fight Israel ….
? If it comes to a real shooting war, Israel will be smoked within minutes.
The reality of modern warfare, amongst eguals is beyond the conception of previous imaginings.
“? If it comes to a real shooting war, Israel will be smoked within minutes.”
Yes Russia could nuke Israel but I think we all know thats not going to happen.
The way I see it, the most likely scenario in the near future is Israel rolls it tanks into southern Syria to steal some land. Is Russia gong to do anything about that? Can Russia do anything about it? I think Russias airforce in Syria is too small, so they will have to stand aside and let Israel take anything they want south of Damascus.
I would like to know other peoples ideas on how realistically Russia could stop an Israeli invasion.
Syria itself is probably at its weakest point in history with virtually no armor or airforce, so I dont think they could offer much resistance.
” Can Russia do anything about it?”
http://www.eurasiafuture.com/2018/04/24/what-moral-obligation-did-russia-have-to-not-sell-s-300s-to-syria/
Quote:
Some of the masses might reflexively respond that this is in and of itself “immoral”, but the fact is that “morals”, “ethics”, and “principles” don’t guide International Relations – interests do – though they’re often relied upon to craft publicly presentable explanations for predetermined policy decisions. Another point to reflect on is that Russia might very well go forward with this weapons transfer anyhow, but that it’s unlikely to make much of a difference in the grand scheme of things because “Israel” will probably follow through on its threats to strike these systems if they interfere with its bombing missions. The S-300s might be able to take down a few warplanes, but each battery would be utterly demolished by the massive retaliatory strike that could be expected and which would overwhelm the target unless Russia rose to its defense, which it won’t ever do because Moscow isn’t going to go beyond its anti-terrorist military mandate.
Concluding Thoughts
Therefore, all the talk about the S-300s will mostly just remain that – talk—because they’re unlikely to affect any of the prevailing battlespace dynamics in the uncertain event that they’re even dispatched to Syria in the first place. Russia’s remarks about this system were mostly for soft power purposes in allaying the understandably distraught Syrian population, much like Lavrov’s earlier statement about Afrin was designed to have the same effect. A clear pattern is thus emerging, and it’s that Russia responds to military aggression against Syria through promising statements that raise its countrymen’s hopes and deflect their attention from focusing on the unpopular fact that Moscow will never overstep its mandate in threatening “World War III” in their defense.

….with missiles fired from many thousands of miles….. or EW ….
The US clearly started an operation that was curtailed upon realisation that the barrage of missiles were bring shot down at 100% rate…. some were let through to help the US save face.
But in the US high command a certain amount of shock was undoubtedly experienced.
In 2006 Israel rolled a lot of their tanks, the touted “God’s Chariots” into Southern Lebanon. Remind me. How did that work out? Oh, yeah. They lost 25% of those tanks to a few thousand determined Hizbollah fighters with shoulder fired anti-tank missiles. What, pray tell, makes you think that Russia has to do anything about Israeli tanks rolling into southern Syria. Methinks there will be plenty of Hizbollah, SAR and Iranian fighters just itching to see Israeli tanks rolling into southern Syria.

It also make me sad to see the ringbearer´s men being slaughtered by the orchs from Mordor.
The S-300 package to Syria is long long overdue. Probably Russia had their good reasons but seen from outside its a shameful story.
And I suspect that on Monday morning Moscow time the order comes down to make that shipment a rush, priority job.
Interesting that the Israelis and the FUKUS brigade have accomplished nothing of any real military significance. But they have likely contributed to Russia’s already upgrading the Syrian air defenses and will likely now have made the shipments of S-300’s a certainty.
Look at this one man, these men are amazing but SAA is so deprived of even barely decent weapon systems and materiel, men are wasted. China, Russia could waste some outdated pieces of equipment… or not. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JloMljsYNBI
Another devastated nation, and the “exceptional” jackals cutting it into pieces, mostly for the sake of a well known colonial outpost bordering fragmented Syria…
Yea and this is what happens to them. Filmed a couple of weeks ago.. both tanks cook off.

The keyword here is ‘considering’.
That means Russia is in no hurry delivering S-300s, but while the media storm is raging, Pantsirs and other hi-tech military gear can be transported en masse to Syria without almost anyone noticing it. This is what this story is about.
This is by no means over. Barring Divine Intervention, major war is coming:

More indications of RF ECM at work.
Thierry Meyssan reports:
“However, the Russian army observed the shots and transmitted the coordinates of the Allied missiles to the Syrian Arab Army in real time, in order to allow the Syrians to destroy them. Besides this, when the Syrians became swamped by the number of allied missiles, the Russian army deployed its system for inhibiting the commands and controls of NATO, which paralysed most of their launchers.”

“The most that we know for certain is that a French plane was unable to fire one of its missiles, and was obliged to jettison it out to sea without triggering it, and that two French multi-mission frigates suffered a computer failure and were unable to fire their naval Cruise missiles.”
http://www.voltairenet.org/article200905.html
One of Meyssan’s references: http://www.rtl.fr/actu/international/frappes-en-syrie-un-couac-des-missiles-francais-aurait-pu-faire-echouer-l-operation-7793077924
Google translation: “Indeed, Aquitaine, Auvergne and Languedoc, the three multimission frigates deployed in the eastern Mediterranean, have experienced some setbacks in full operation. At the exact time scheduled for the first shot, a big bug then occurred : a red prevented the departure of the cruise missiles on the first building designated to open fire, before the second ship experienced the same failure.”
Very interesting indeed. So RF ECM managed to cause launch failures. Yup, as I said above, FUKUS/Nato planners definitely need to hunker down and rethink their doctrine. But hey, it’s more money for the dual-citizen military theorists at the various military think tanks and even war colleges.

Blackbeard’s treasure chest is down to blank IOU chits which people are losing faith in.
Thusly plunder is afoot, but.. the best laid plans…..
“Russia considers…”
What a disingenuous headline!
Russia DELIVERS S-300 to Syria. This is the correct thing to say and do.
Quit the BS.
If you can’t prove it, you shouldn’t say it affirmatively.
Where’s the proof?
Russia will deliver it when they finish delivering it.
Meanwhile, all the pieces seem to be moving in that direction.
We know they are upgrading and integrating more defenses.
We don’t know for certain the S-300 is there.
I prefer certitude for headlines, not leaps over proof.
Southfront has it correct.
You misunderstood what I meant.
I did not mean to say Russia delivered the S-300, literally.
What I meant is Russia/Saker talk in platitudes: “consider, would, maybe…”, never assertively.
Stop babbling; deliver the S-300s or preferably S-400s.
After all, you are giving S-400s to the Turks.
What a disgrsace!
I still can’t work out the relationship the Russians have with the Turks, the Turks have been one of the main supporters of terror in Syria and now they occupy part of the North, whats that all about?
Putin has been leading Turkey away from the West. Not just separating it from NATO, but hooking it economically to Eurasia.
This is the reality behind infinite patience with Erdogan. Turkey, its domestic stakeholders, are the prize. Erdogan has a short shelf life if Putin, the SVR and GRU don’t protect him. He can never trust the US. They’ll eliminate him if he bolts Russia and goes back to the West. Moreover, he’s pure Muslim Brotherhood and Trump has made that a non-starter for all Muslim “allies”.
S-400 in Turkey will be networked with Syria and Iran (and eventually Iraq) if that is required.
Russia gets others to buy the system, but they can command it, network it, or nullify it if necessary.
They are going to drape the S-400 across Far East, North Korea and China also.
“Russia gets others to buy the system, but they can command it, network it, or nullify it if necessary.”
Why would the Saudis pay $2 billion for S400 that they have no control of?
https://www.rt.com/business/406116-russia-saudi-arabia-s400-delivery/
Their presence would also require a certain level of increased security and I hope its harder than I can imagine to infiltrate suicide squads into the areas where they are to be deployed.
It reminds me that between the 1st and 2nd Gulf War, Iraq was bombed harassed infiltrated and weakened by sabotaged and all manner of attacks – softening it up for Bush Jr (Blair and Howard)
“While Syrian troops carry on their liberation of Damascus’ suburbs from radical militants with the support of Iranian troops and Shia militia detachments, the United States and Saudi Arabia are planning to take advantage of Ankara’s tacit consent and launch a decisive blow against the forces of Bashar al-Assad. Saudi demands issued to Qatar, urging the latter to launch a military strike against Syria is just part of a multinational military operation in the making to rely on ground forces drawn from Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states. We face the probable entry of so-called Arab coalition forces led by Saudi Arabia into Syrian territory, illegally occupied by the United States. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has recently expressed its readiness to send its troops to Syria within the framework of a so-called International Coalition to replace American troops deployed there acting on the request of US President Donald Trump.
It’s safe to say that the plan aimed at Balkanizing Syria is in full swing. From a realistic point of view, the Saudi-led forces only need to obtain consent from the US to launch an invasion, all while Washington is engaged in a variety of unnecessary political maneuvers, including holding consultations with Kurdish-led SDF forces that it has sponsored for some time now. “
US Endgame in Syria
https://syria360.wordpress.com/2018/04/26/us-endgame-in-syria/
Saudi American scum seek to balkanize Syria with Turkey’s tacit support.
Yes; and Syria, Iran, Hezbollah, Turkey and Russia (nevermind China in the background?) are just going to roll over…not.
At the start of April President Vladimir Putin believed he could postpone Russia’s strategic and battlefield responses to the state of war which the US is escalating. He was to be disappointed.
On April 6, the US Treasury announced it is putting the state aluminium monopoly United Company Rusal out of business, not only in the US but worldwide. Not since July 26, 1941, when President Franklin Roosevelt froze Japanese assets in the US and prohibited all US trade with Japan, especially metals and oil, as well as all US dollar transactions, has the American state attempted such a thing against a rival Great Power. Roosevelt calculated it was one deterrent step short of US war with Japan. Everybody understands now that miscalculation led to Japan’s decision to make its preemptive strike against the US Navy at Pearl Harbor, five months later.
There is another, earlier precedent for the US Treasury’s act of war against Russia. That was on November 21, 1806, when Napoleon issued his Berlin Decree. That forbade the export of British goods to Europe or other states controlled by the French military, or the imports of goods on which Britain depended from its empire. Too weak to defeat the British Navy or invade the British islands, Napoleon opted for economic sanctions, retaliating for the trade blockade imposed by the British Navy around the French coastline, starting in May of that year. “It being right,” Napoleon had declared as the justification for his blockade, “to oppose to an enemy the same arms she makes use of, to combat as she does, when all ideas of justice and every liberal sentiment (the result of civilization among men) are discarded.” The British had extended war beyond military operations, Napoleon added in his decree: “it cannot be extended to any private property whatever, nor to persons who are not military, and until the right of blockade be restrained to fortified places, actually invested by competent forces.” The Continental Blockade, thus launched, lasted until Napoleon’s first abdication in April 1814.

Syrian Army Captures Several Villages East of Euphrates From SDF – Reports
https://sputniknews.com/middleeast/201804291064011445-syria-army-sdf-us-backed-forces-euphrates/
“Syria’s armed forces have captured several villages located to the east of the Euphrates river from the US-backed, predominantly Kurdish Syrian Democratic Forces, Reuters reported, citing a military source.
The clashes between the Syrian army and the US-supported SDF forces took place close to the Iraqi border, in Kurdish-controlled areas of the country, Reuters reported.
Previously, the Syrian army had abstained from a military offensive against the Kurdish forces, focusing on its campaign against Daesh militants. The US-backed SDF captured territory east of the Euphrates River in Deir Zor province last year, during their anti-Daesh operations.
Syrian Army’s Operation Against Terrorists
The Syrian army has reached an agreement with militants on their withdrawal from the three settlements in southern Damascus, the Sana news agency reported on Sunday.
According to the agency, the agreement envisages evacuation of militants and their families from the towns of Yalda, Babila and Beit Sahm. The legal status of those militants who want to stay will be settled after they hand over weapons to the army.
The agreement was reached several hours after the Syrian army regained control over several neighborhoods in the area.
At the present moment, the Syrian government forces have intensified their efforts to eliminate the last pockets of terrorists in Greater Damascus, defeating terrorists in Al-Aasali, Jura and Al-Hajar al-Aswad.
The operation aimed at the liberation of a Daesh-held enclave of Greater Damascus area was launched on April 20 by the Syrian government, following Daesh’s refusal to leave.”
The Syrians continue to shrink their territory under the control of the zionazis.

Update: Map showing reported Syrian Army advance against US-backed forces in east Deir Ezzor
https://mobile.almasdarnews.com/article/update-map-showing-reported-syrian-army-advance-against-us-backed-in-east-deir-ezzor/
“BEIRUT, LEBANON (4:55 P.M.) – Just over an hour ago, Syrian state media (SANA) reported that the Syrian Army and allied paramilitary groups seized four towns and villages from US-backed forces in Deir Ezzor province.
The advance, made along the eastern shore of the Euphrates, has seen the river settlements of Junaynah, Jayah, Shamrt Hossan and Huwayjat Ma’ishyah come under government control.
Unconfirmed information exists claiming that all four settlements witnessed a popular uprising against US-backed forces after which the Syrian Army moved in per the request of locals.
There are reports that the Syrian Army has also taken a fifth village called Shaqrah (this is shown in the map above).
Furthermore, some sources claim that US aircraft (apparently Apache gunships) have carried out strikes against government troops in response to the assault.

https://mobile.almasdarnews.com/article/breaking-syrian-army-retreats-from-all-new-gains-in-deir-ezzor-following-counter-attack-by-us-backed-forces/
“BEIRUT, LEBANON (6:02 P.M.) – Earlier on Sunday, the Syrian Army and allied paramilitary groups launched a surprise attack against US-backed forces along the eastern shore of the Euphrates.
According to reports, the government assault resulted in at least five towns and villages – Junaynah, Jayah, Shamrt Hossan, Huwayjat Ma’ishyah and Shaqrah – coming under Syrian Army control, at least so for several hours.
New information from official sources suggests that government troops have since retreated from all five settlements following a counter-attack by US-backed forces – whether or not American airpower was involved in the engagement remains unclear.
According to various sources, anywhere between six to nine US-backed fighters and possibly a top commander were killed in the clashes that took place; government losses are unknown.
It is still unclear why Syrian pro-government forces attacked US-backed factions today.
Updates to follow.”
Frankly, I would stop considering and start delivering. It is long overdue.
” However, the both sides understand that they should find some common ground if they want to avoid an open military conflict and are searching various options allowing to pressure opponents for own advantage.”
Lol. Okay, one side is funding terrorists against the other; one side is now occupying one third of the other side’s territory. Where is the common ground apart from “get out of my country and take your Zionist rats with you”? :P
Any compromise with the AZE over Syria represents a strategic defeat for Syria, Iran and Russia.

European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) reports an earthquake at the precise time of this (conventional or nuclear) WMD attack on Syria and Iran. Putin will strike the zionist evil entity with a barrage of diplomatic protestation. The Baazar comprador elites in Tehran and Moscow (those who want Russia and Iran to renounce to any resistance to the globalized AZ order) will keep eating USD and Shekkels while shopping in London. The zionists in their Palestinian Bunkers will shake in their chosen boots, while listening to Lavrov complaints to the “partners”. https://www.emsc-csem.org/Earthquake/earthquake.php?id=662356
Iran is next, then Russia will be touched by creative chaos on its western and southern borders.
And even if the US bubbles implodes in coming weeks, and (let us dream) goes down into a civil war or social chaos, the zionist entity would then go full masada complex.
What a sick joke.
it is sick alright ,This was WMD the very thing the ‘west’ says should not be tolerated by anyone for ay reason whatsoever….”Do as the civilised west says not as it does”…is blowing loudly in the air.
One note, the link refers to a magnitude 2.6 earthquake. It was however rather shallow at 2km. At least it seems shallow to a non-expert compared to other natural earthquake reports I’ve seen.
The BBC once reported on a N.Korean test as causing a 5.3 magnitude tremor for a roughly Hiroshima sized bomb. The explanation of earthquake magnitude on the British Geological site gives a similar range, in that it calls a magnitude 5 earthquake the same as 1 kiloton TNT explosion while a magnitude 6 earthquake to be the same as a 30 kiloton TNT explosion (2x hiroshima).
Again, I’m not an expert, but this sounds like a normal ammo dump exploding and creating a much smaller tremor at 2.6 mag, which is what other reports from the area are suggesting from local witnesses.
From the cited John Helmer:
Interestingly, I was poring through Helmer’s work this weekend too. With both the US War Cabinet staffed and the Russian Stavka activated, Pompeo leaving Netanyahu today endorsing Israel’s ‘sovereign right to defend itself’ and Putin apparently holed up in his dacha in deep thought, strategizing and prayer one would imagine, the center is in danger of not holding. Toss in the depleted embassy staffs for a chaser.
Has Putin fatally dithered on S300 delivery?
The last arrow in Russia’s ‘defensive’ quiver become ‘surprise’ which is a strictly post-dialogue unilateral enterprise. It feels like we are 24-48 hours away from a Rubicon Moment which we will only be able to identify as such after the fact. What unseen red line will serve as the tripwire for surprise and has it been adequately conveyed through the deconfliction process? I think Mattis is spooked on the EW front and is trying hard to manage the scale of engagement with his MOD counterparts. But the Bolton-Pompeo duet may be too much.
With all the disparate entities involved and Israel’s cross-purposed determination to enlarge the conflict, I think uncheckable escalation will play a commanding role. Nihilism is in the front seat. I cannot believe the precariousness of the situation we now face.

“Russia To Shoot Down Missiles, Target Launchers In Case Of Attack On Syria – Russian Envoy To Lebanon”
Move along now.
Interesting how being Israel’s neighbor makes one want to possess good air defenses.
There is one type of neighbor, with whom one is tempted to take down the fences since you are always going back and forth to each others homes as friends and having bar-be-gues in the each other’s back yard.
There is another type of neighbor about whom its been said that strong fences make good neighbors. But some neighbors still make you feel as if that fence could use some razor wire along the top with some more floodlights shinging on the fence at night.
And apparently, there are some neighbors that make you want to possess the latest in Russian world-class air defenses.
This was written before the assumed israeli attack tonight against Iran forces in Syria. So some of the author’s claims may prove now invalid. Pointedly, that the boy has calmed down. Then again, we don’t know hardly anything yet about the attack tonight. The author provides a very interesting view, regardless how things changed tonight.
My own speculation is israel did the attack to provoke Iran into response so Iran’s response could be played up by the zionazi-gays to get europe to follow pindoland on the nuke treaty and reisolate Iran internationally.
Syria: Russia is teaching Israel, “the naughty boy”, a lesson and Iran is watching

Sunday u.s. sos pompei was in israel getting his orders. Expect something else soon, as well.
Russia should have sent them years ago. Russia is very slow and sluggish, and while it dawdles thousands upon thousands more Syrians die. Is Russia going to wait until the last Syrian?
There won’t be any S-300 in Syrian hands. Russian Army might consider that but the politicians DON’T!
Trade between Israel and Russia has grown this year by 25 percent and it’s growing by hour.
Oh, dear, this is terrible… Is it true? Where did you get this information?
AZ direct agression on Iran will follow soon.
« The progress made by pro-Assad forces and their Iranian allies aimed at liberating Syrian territories still held by militants are of little concern to the West and its allies, as these militants serve no direct role in future plans to occupy the edges of the Syrian state. Moreover, in the process of this liberation Syrian forces are suffering losses. On April 24, yet another attempt of breakthrough in the Yarmouk area failed, resulting in another 30 Syrian soldiers killed, including those from the elite Tiger Forces and Hezbollah, who had been redeployed to this area from Kalamoon due to the fact that Palestinians were leaving their positions en masse.
Naturally, the incursion of Arab forces will significantly strengthen the ground presence of the US-led coalition, and one is safe to assume that these Arab forces will try to push Iranian forces out of Syria and seal all land routes connecting Syria and Iran. The next phase of the war will have be aimed at directly colliding with the Iranian proxy forces and Iranian military detachments in Syria. Amid all of this remains the coalition’s ultimate goal – the overthrow of Bashar al-Assad. ». https://journal-neo.org/2018/04/26/syrias-endgame-can-get-really-ugly/
SANA (30 Apr):
“A military source said that a new aggression targeted military positions in the countryside of Hama and Aleppo provinces with rockets at around 10:30 PM on Saturday.
Earlier, SANA’s reporter said that explosions were heard on Saturday night in the countryside of Hama and Aleppo provinces, and that the authorities are working to identify the cause of the explosions.”
Not sure if by ‘rockets’ they also mean missiles (PGMs) but it looks like an ammo/fuel dump was hit.

Another strike on Syria, and Russia is silent. We reach times where a bluff does not work any more. So if Russia does as not confront Israel-Saudi-US-French alliance, the war will be over soon, Either by retreat or political settlement that is favorable to Israel.
What’s the rush Anon? Have some patience, man. War is coming. Russia is that close to firing on Israelis and Americans and when that happens, neither you nor I can predict the consequences. Who knows what’s going to happen to us. Don’t forget both RF and US are on the same battleground that is Syria. It’s pretty obvious RF is trying its best to avoid direct confrontation with the US and its master Israel.
Its like two guys (one carrying a masked dwarf on his back) wearing suicide vests locked in a room and having a duel. The dwarf wears a mask because he’s also friends with the other guy and he doesn’t want to be recognised. One guy (sans dwarf) is carrying a Nagant pistol and is trying to keep the fight to a knife fight because he knows using a gun will blow all three of them along with all the hapless onlookers outside to smithereens. The other guy, armed with a Smith and Wesson, and egged on by the dwarf who is also wielding a knife and a gun, and who thinks he can save his skin by jumping off his mule (the guy with the S&W) at the last minute and hiding under the bed, wants to fight with his gun. His friends, and especially the dwarf, keep telling him that he’s like Wyatt Earp at the OK Corral — he’s invincible; he’s fighting for justice, freedom, and all that is good in the world; God is on his side although he’s not one of God’s Chosen. And, like Marshal Earp, he’ll survive the gunfight and ride into the sunset with his Sadie.
So, it’s ugly, this proxy war in Syria, but it’s much prettier than a nuclear exchange.

Great allegory, Basil. All these commenters pushing war don’t mind seeing others killed, other countries reduced to ruins. It won’t touch them, naturally…
Rush?
You are surely joking – they stopped counting the dead at 500 thousand.
What’s a few more thousand.
The following article is a series of Tweets made by Al-Ackbar journalist, Firas al-Shoufi.
1. Initial reports indicate the missiles used by Israel tonight in the attacks on Hama and Aleppo were bunker buster munitions – missiles that have the ability to penetrate underground targets.
2. The impact of the Israeli attacks was so intense, it resulted in an earth tremor measuring 2.6 on the Richter scale.
3. There are several casualties, both Syrian and Iranian martyrs in these latest attacks.
4. Through these strikes, and the previous ones, Israel is trying to provoke Iran into a reaction and thus a direct confrontation before the US makes a formal decision on cancelling the Nuclear Deal.
5. Israel is trying to embarrass Iran– if Iran retaliates it will lose the support/backing of the Europeans regarding the deal, but if it does not respond then Israel has been able to change the rules of the game on the Syrian battlefield, exposing Iranian bases and military strength.
6. At the same time, the US is very unhappy with the recent Syrian government advances. Today the government announced a deal with the militants near Yarmouk, while also sending troops to recapture Rastan and Talbisi. Plus they tried to take villages from the US-backed and Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).
7. This is bad for the US – these advances show the Syrian government is not keen on negotiations anymore. The US wants to negotiate the future of the areas under opposition control while the Syrian government is making gains through military means.
8. Israel is angry at the prospect of Russia potentially providing S-300’s to the Syrian government – which would limit Israel’s freedom of movement in Syrian airspace – but at the same time their repeated strikes on Syrian army bases are leaving the Russians with little choice.

Putin blocking the delivery of S-300 in Syria against the demands of the Russian Military
This was discussed by Putin with General Staff chief Valery Gerasimov and Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu on April 20. The Russian military, they told the President, want the go-ahead to deploy S-300 missile batteries to cover Syrian and Iranian forces against US and Israeli attack from the air. They believe Israeli threats to attack the S-300 batteries as soon as they are operational are a bluff which Russia must call if Russia’s positions in Syria, and Iran itself, are not to come under subsequent attack from the American-Israeli combination. Testing the threat in Syria, they argue, is the less threatening, less costly option than encouraging the Americans and Israelis to prepare their
offensive against Iran. Putin won’t agree.
To respond to Putin’s reluctance, the General Staff and the Defence Ministry have devised a step short of the S-300, but with potentially enough defensive power to intercept or deter American and Israeli air attacks. This is the deployment of more Russian electronic warfare systems with the capacity to jam the surveillance, targeting, fire control and command signals on which the attackers rely. It is the Samson Haircut option – deprive the giant of control of his firepower, blind him.
Silently, Putin has decided to protect Deripaska; not to call the US attack on Rusal an act of war; and to test the Americans with an offer of a limited armistice. International bankers close to Russian business believe it is a Russian illusion that an armistice with the US can be anything but temporary; pursuing it is a miscalculation of US intentions, the sources add. They warn that new attacks will come.

Two Jordanians on Trial in Saudi Arabia Over Spying for Mossad – Reports
https://sputniknews.com/middleeast/201804301064030174-jordanians-trial-mossad/
“The charges brought by Saudi authorities against the two men also include a planned terrorist attack during the annual hajj pilgrimage four years ago, according to media reports.
The Saudi Specialized Criminal Court has started legal proceedings against two Jordanian nationals suspected of spying for the Israeli intelligence agency Mossad, according to al-Arabiya.
The suspects also plotted an attack against Muslim pilgrims during the annual hajj four years ago and supported the Daesh* terrorist group, court materials cited by the news outlet read.
No further details on the trial have been released.”
Hey, what surprise. The two were working for both the mossad and daesh. Who would have expected such a thing?

Pity that they cannot do anything against Israel attack, which number more than a 100 in this war with SYRIA.
The Zionazis do whatever they like and the question really is whether Syria can ever win this war without shooting down the attacking planes. These war criminals have murdered and committed genocide and will continue to do so until Syria or Russia actually do what is needed to stop them. Perhaps discuss this at UNSC and make clear that further illegal attacks against UN charter will be responded to.
The Israelis have no conscience whenever it concerns the lives of non-Jewish people: too much inbreeding and closed mind-set always lead to such an inward looking attitude. The result is no different from the Nazi mentality which they pretend to despise. As the son of Yehudi Menuhin, Gerard Menuhin says it is not a matter of being anti-Semitic but just being “Jew-wise”, understand their contempt for others (see his Tell the Truth and Same the Devil).
