The Russian Navy intends to establish a group of icebreaking and ice-class combat ships to protect the Arctic coast and the polar islands, Russian newspaper Izvestia reported on July 29.
Russia is also revitalizing its Arctic military presence and boosting its military activities in the region. Conventional icebreakers, which are already under construction, will be complemented by icebreaking ships with military capabilities.
Russia is building six new military bases, adding troops and holding exercises.
The declaration was signed by Air Combat Command (ACC) head General Herbert Carlisle on Monday, allowing the USAF to assign its first operational F-35 squadron to combat operations across the world.
The Air Force had five months, beginning from August 1, to confirm the stealth fighter’s operational capability. The US Marine Corps declared its own squadron capable of combat in July last year.
He had said in late may that the jet has faced more delays in initial operational testing and will not come any sooner than 2018.
The F-35 is a non-tactical, non-bomber net-centric multi role. It’s a flying digital hub. That’s it. Don’t be confused and think the US forgot how to make aircraft.
All specialized tactical or bomber airacft are classified. That’s why you think the US is at a disadvantage. Trust me I work in the industry there’s both money and brains present.
I’m quite sure there’s money present. That’s never been in doubt.
If the US hasn’t “forgotten” how to make aircraft, they’re sure doing a good job of pretending. The F22 had serious problems too, like suffocating the pilots and needing excessive down time.
As for the internet-dependent F35, I don’t understand why the Americans would build a plane that can’t fly if its connection to the internet (loosely speaking) is interrupted. Is it that big a secret in Washington that the Russians are ahead of us in electronic warfare? I remember the Russian a couple years back explaining that the more involved the electronics on a weapon were, the easier it was to shut it down. The F35 should be lots of fun — like a whole sky full of Donald Cooks.
Well the F22 is nothing more than a souped up F15 which is why it was chosen over the YF23 from Northrop/Grumman. It was more conventional so the old farts in medals were not offended but the lesser of the 2 platforms.
The F35 is a POS and an expensive one at that. Basically for the US it is back to the drawing board for a decent modern replacement for the F16. I laugh myself stupid at reading reports on reading reports of the F35 by respective purchase airforces who dispare about what their stupid politicians have locked them into purchase wise. As a tax payer, I am fn livid that my country of birth is wasting billions on such lemons. The SU would much better suit the country.

The US Air Force has finally announced its first squadron of F-35 fighter jets “combat ready,” marking a major milestone for the much-maligned project 15 years into its development.

Yes indeed! This brilliant move by the US will weaken all serious military forces around the world, as they laugh themselves silly.

The USA also has UFO/Alien technology that it reverse engineered from the famed Roswell, New Mexico UFO crash decades ago.
This is one of the most closely guarded secrets in the world.
Seriously.
I’m quite sure there’s money present. That’s never been in doubt.

Don’t forget to add that it has an absurdly short combat radius, especially the Marine version.
The US didn’t forget how to make aircraft, the government just prefers gifting players like GE and Lockheed with billions for — essentially nothing.
Does someone know how the SU-30 perform against the Rafale ?
