The only ones disputing the results of the elections in Russia today are the Western corporate ziomedia and their new darling, Gennadii Zuiganov of the Communist Party. But then, that guy was always a clown…
All the other opposition leaders came to personally congratulate Putin on his victory:
Zhirinovski, Putin, Mironov, Prokhorov |
In the streets of Moscow over 100’000 people came out in the middle of the night to declare their support for Putin:
Can you guess who this show of unity is destined for?
So much for the “end of Putin” thesis :-)
I would like to see Russia retaliate for this and there is a good opportunity: Ron Paul. There have been a number of irregularities in the caucus states of Iowa, Nevada, Maine and Washington state. RT and all Russian media should be highlighting this and pounding it as hard as they can.
It would definitely resonate globally if not in the US.
P.S. I have no illusions that a majority of Americans are persuaded that NOT bombing third world countries is a good idea. But I’m also convinced that US elites are terrified that they CAN be convinced. Hence, they are afraid of Ron Paul winning even ONE primary as it would generate a lot of attention and give his views a lot of credibility.
Sure they could do this, but the Russian media doesn’t have the global influence the US one has. Even local media in Latin America, Europe and many Asian countries only repeat from US corporate media. Argentine and Brazilian newspapers, for example, are parroting about “fraud in Russian elections”, and almost not noticing there is a guy running to be Republican candidate named Ron Paul.
Carlo, I know it wouldn’t be that easy, but it’s a start. With time, it will catch on. Someday, when Qatar and KSA have another falling out, Al-Jazeera might carry it. The English language AJ is not as bad as the Arabic one and might even carry it now if RT was pushing it. Maybe some Spanish stations would carry it if mentioned. And there’s always youtube.
Eventually, over many years, it would filter through the public’s consciousness, around the world and take a big weapon away from the US.
But you have to start small and be persistent. And I don’t see any harm in trying, even if it fails.
Keep, in mind, the story has legs because it might actually be true, and because a lot of Ron Paul supporters already are convinced there is election fraud.
Also, keep in mind how the US has electronic voting with no records kept or paper trail. Cheating is a s easy as writing a program.
“Eventually, over many years, it would filter through the public’s consciousness, around the world and take a big weapon away from the US.”
Yes, in a long term it could be useful. All over Latin America, for example, perhaps excluding Brazil, people are starting to become wary of US propaganda and mainstream media.
