1) I was very surprised when I read that US coalition had done some bombings over ISIS near Palmyra on Thursday. I thought: “Why there? Why now?” I suspected that “destroying 168 trucks” was a cover for some prolonged air activities of another kind. But what?
“US-led coalition airstrikes near the Syrian city of Palmyra destroyed 168 Daesh oil tanker trucks Thursday, the Operation Inherent Resolve joint task force said in a press release…”
2) Then came the ISIS attack on Palmyra on Saturday, a day with very foggy weather, preventing air force activities. ISIS are obviously well informed about weather situations.
3) Then I read that on Friday “the US air forces disrupted all VHF radios and radars via satellites over the roads between Raqqa and Palmyra and also provided a 6 hour’s cover for ISIS’s passage on the axis of Al Sekhneh….” I don’t know if that is true, it is said that it is from a “high ranking Syrian military official”, but it could be just a rumour.
4) And then I read a thought provoking comment, reminding me of the landscape around Palmyra: If the Isis fighters are not exceptionally good and quick mountain climbers, they must have been air dropped to the other side of the mountain.
5) Many are surprised that the Russians near Palmyra left just Before the ISIS attack. What if they knew of a plan to attack during the foggy weather to try to capture/kill Russian soldiers (to be able to send them home in body bags, as “predicted” by Kirby)?
Anyway, just some thoughts I wanted to share as I found a plausible explanation to the sudden and unexpected (and not commented on) “destruction of 168 ISIS oil trucks”.
The offensive on Palmyra started on 3 axes, the eastern, the northeastern and the southeastern
The estimated number of the attackers (ISIS terrorists) is 4000 terrorists who came from Iraq
The equipment and vehicles entered Syria long time before the attack in a confidential manner.
ISIS terrorists were quipped with more than 400 vehicles and 40 tanks. As well as US made TWO missiles and Russian made Kornet missiles.
ISIS attacked AlSawame with 15 VBIEDs
The 1st stage of the offensive ended up without ISIS controlling any location as I indicated yesterday.
During the 2nd stage of the offensive that started almost at dawn, they used more VBIEDs to attack AlSawame (6km to the east of Palmyra). SAA retreated from AlSawame.
On 11.12.2016 around 8:00 am ISIS launched another offensive on the axes of the mountain of ALHail and AlTar.
At around 10:15 an order received form the high command of the SAA to retreat from Palmyra city.
SAA retreated to the western part of the city, we lost 7 martyrs during the battles
The clashes are still ongoing in western Palmyra
Reinforcements were sent to support our forces in Palmyra
Of course Americans want to let mercenaries (=ISIS/Al Qaeda, what ever) to move from Iraq to Syria. The battle against ISIS by Americans is pure smoke and fantasy. ISIS is the alibi for America to get licence to stay in Iraq (if they didn’t get it they would have stayed there anyway, but the ISIS is good story for western naive folks).
Pentagon, Israel, Poroshenko will try several tricks during the last 6 weeks until new cabinet start in White House. Then we will see is Trump any better than Barry. I still have some strong doubts.
