Warning: the following is not an analysis, it is a “cri du coeur” !
Looking at the photo of the three stooges oh so proud of having “prevailed” over that evil Russia I have very mixed feelings. On one that, I have a sense of immense disgust. No, not for the the Eurobureaucrats or for Poroshenko – they are true to character. No, my disgust is directed at that sorry pseudo-ethnicity called “the Ukrainians” and which now has fractured into two mutually exclusive groups: the real “Ukrainians” – the Russians from “core Russia” (which is the real meaning of the expressions “Malorossia” or “Small Russia”) who live on Russia’s western frontier (the real meaning of the word “u-krainy”) and the pseudo-Ukrainian ex-homo sovieticus (I call them Ukies) who mutated into pseudo-Europeans and who now fancy themselves as “Europeans” just because they volunteered to become the next AngloZionist colony. These are the folks who traded a 1000-year old history for the (imaginary) prize which the capitalists have been dangling in front of their collective noses like a carrot before a donkey. Two things characterize these folks: they are phenomenally ignorant of pretty much everything, but especially of their own history, and their credulity is quite literally infinite. In other words – they are terminally stupid. As for their spiritual or cultural values, they don’t extend beyond what is shown on a typical commercial on TV.
It is at this point my thinking that I move from disgust to relief. Relief that modern Russia will not have to deal with such a morally degenerate and spiritually corrupt population.
I am Russian. My family roots go far back into the Russian middle-ages and for me each phase in Russian history – whether good or bad – has its own spiritual significance. From the birth of Russia at the baptism of Saint Vladimir, to the heroic resistance of Saint Alexander Nevsky, to the gradual formation of a new Russia under Ivan III, to the tragic period of Ivan IV, the Stoglav, the tragic Old Rite Schism, the spiritual desert of the reign of Peter I, to the rebirth of Russia through the times of Alexander II and Alexander III and to the martyrdom and final transition form an earthly empire to a spiritual reality under the Czar-Martyr Nicholas II – each of these moments in history can only be understood through spiritual eyes and not by means of materialistic categories. And even though modern Russia is still spiritually sick, very sick, I clearly perceive the signs of a spiritual revival, or a gradual shedding of the materialistic delusions which had been imposed upon the Russian people during the 20th century.
What some (correctly) call a “clash of civilizations” between Russia and the West is a reality. Likewise, when the Ukrainian propaganda speaks of a “civilizational choice” it is inadvertently expressing a profound spiritual truth. Russia is barely standing up, still shaking and in many ways confused, but already it is resisting the capitalist rot which is corroding the western civilization and Russia is already (correctly) perceived as a threat by the western plutocracy. If this is what a weak and still confused Russia is capable of, just imagine what it could do if it fully recovered its true spiritual and cultural identity and strength!
So this for me is a crucial question: does the slowly healing Russia really need to live under the same cultural/civilizational roof with the kind of folks which brought Iatseniuk or Poroshenko to power? I say let Europe deal with them! In fact, the Ukies and the EU richly *deserve* each other.
Yes, I know, Kiev is the cradle of the entire Russian civilization, but did Christ Himself not say “And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.“ (Matt. 5:29). I don’t want Russia to perish for the Ukraine, much less for for the pseudo-Ukraine I call “Banderastan”.
The Pope’s Crusaders came from the West. Napoleon’s Masons came from the West. The German and Austro-Hungarian imperialists came from the West. Then the Nazis came from the West. Now the AngloZionists are coming from the West. In the past, each time the “outer-Russians” (the correct translation of “Grand Russians”) came and saved the Ukraine from these invaders and they did that a a huge cost for Russia. But at least in the past the real Ukrainians never confused the occupier and the liberator. Nowadays this has changed. In fact, the modern “Ukrainians” think that they are feeling a deep kinship with the invader, they even identify with him. I think that Russia should stop pretending that this is not happening and that these two are “brother” nations. Okay, maybe they were brothers in the past, but now all they share is the brotherhood of Cain and Abel.
There is no continuity between Saint Vladimir and Poroshenko and what we are observing in Kiev today is what the Scripture call the “the abomination of desolation standing in the holy place“. And the Ukies like it that way. They have no use for holiness. I say let them have it!
Yes, of course, there is Novorussia which Russia cannot and will not abandon. And Crimea will forever remain part of Russia. And there are still real Russians in Kharkov, Dnepropetrovsk, Mariupol, Nikolaev, Odessa and even in Kiev. But these Russians either cannot or don’t want to fight to free their land from the current western occupier and they need to live with the consequences of this choice.
As for the rest of Russia, I hope to see it turn to the North and the East were its real future lies. Let the EU deal with Banderastan, let Banderastan deal with the EU and let them jointly enjoy their role as faithful servants of the plutocratic elite which administers the European AngloZionist protectorate on behalf of the USA. Let the Ukies, the Balts and the East-Europeans all race each other to see who will get the title of “employee of the month” from Uncle Sam. Let them bask in their newfound pride to have finally become full members of the civilization of Walmart and McDonalds. And let them keep on digging a deep trench all along the Russian-Ukrainian border. While it is, of course, militarily useless (what in the world are the Ukie generals thinking?!) it is a fantastic symbol of what the ex-Ukraine now “EU-associated Banderastan has become”. Russian kids should be bussed in from their schools and shown this trench while their teachers explain to them what kind of people dug this trench and why.
Russia’s western frontier has become a desert. It is high time for Russia to accept this reality and act on it.
The Saker
Saker,
as far as I know a good deal of Russians are starting thinking your way. Unfortunately Larchmonter and the others are right: they won’t be let in peace behind their moat. The Empire feels global and wants to go global, they are salivating to Russian resources already.
If Russia doesn’t move, expect something orange soon, for a start.
Two more facts which I think the others didn’t notice:
1) There is not much time left. NATO is going to Ukraine for “exercises” in July. They will never leave and will transform Banderastan in a gigantic base against Russia;
2) Stop petting Europe. Eurosummit in Bruxelles has put another Merdel’s puppet in charge, the line won’t change. They must feel their game has a cost.
Rockerduck
@larchmonter @03:54
I agree with the sentiment of your statement. But keep in mind when you said:
“What if four years from now Ukraine is fully armed and invades Russia, backed by NATO air power.”
– NATO air power will not walk over Russia. The entire Iraqi air defense system destroyed, I think 2 US aircraft. You may have noticed that the Ukies have lost a rather large number of aircraft for a junta that had relatively few serviceable aircraft to begin with. In fact, The Russian aerospace industry is AT LEAST on par with the US, maybe ahead of it. NATO would lose hundreds of jets and thousands of choppers over Russia and they well know it. Its not an option
What does Putin do?
Push the button to end the world?”
Flatly, yes. This HAS TO BE the bottom line and all the world must know it. MAD is the only thing that saved the world from a US provoked armageddon during the cold war. This must be the standing policy. Any attack in force against Russia ends in a nuclear fireball.
Commenter valentino said:
“The method chosen to appoint the ne ambassadors by President Obama, tels more than any word about the grade of corruption of western civilization.”
What method? Are they gay?
I am very, very moved by this post.
What you say about Ukraine, Saker, I could say it about Europe, and especially my country, France. How tragic that they too “have finally become full members of the civilization of Walmart and McDonalds”, eschewing their spiritual heritage (and how sad and disgusted it makes me feel).
As Xavier Moreau would say:
My (rough) translation:
In order to understand what’s going on in Ukraine, it is important to keep in mind that the United-States are not part of our civilization, and that occidental values are in direct opposition to the European ones. We cannot imagine that a government would ally itself to islamists, or neo-nazis, nor that they could massacre their own friends, because we are born from a civilization based on the same values, christian, orthodox, or catholic.”

This spiritual dimension is the one we need to uphold, cherish and fight for, for we need it constantly at our side to fight the horror that is being foisted on us.
So thank you again, Saker, for highlighting what may very well be the most important, in such a clear and moving fashion. It is good to have a vision!
You write: “What some (correctly) call a ‘clash of civilizations’ between Russia and the West is a reality.”
I would modify this statement to read: “There will be a profound clash between ANYONE (quite regardless of who they are or what nation / culture they choose to line up with) who stands in opposition to the Capitalist World Order (which, on the other hand, is disintegrating before our eyes from its own terminal untenability without any outside help – including help from nations and / or cultures or spiritual persuasions).”
You also write: “they are phenomenally ignorant of pretty much everything, but especially of their own history, and their credulity is quite literally infinite. In other words – they are terminally stupid. As for their spiritual or cultural values, they don’t extend beyond what is shown on a typical commercial on TV.”
“They” in this case, are the “Ukies” (at least one of which – who lives in that bed of sin, Kiev – I must, for better or worse, count as one of the best friends I’ve had lifelong). Funny, though. Your description of the “Ukies” fits to a “T” countless Americans I have the great fortune to no longer be forced to live next to – thanks to living over 20 years in Germany (NO: while I love German culture and acknowledge Germans as no better or worse than anyone else, I am not German and have no desire to be even if it were remotely possible; plus, I’m just now getting over being American, so I have enough to do).
Saker, what you write about the no-good “Ukies” is pretty strong stuff, don’t you think?
I grew up in the American South (you live in Florida, right? well, that’s part of the American South). And when I was growing up in the South, I learned a lot about bigots and fundamentalists (I mean, my grandmother, who I totally loved, was a bigot … so I was pretty close to them). So, when I look at the no-good “Ukies”, one of the first things I think about are all the American Southern fundamentalists and bigots I grew up knowing quite well. Not that I’m suggesting that one has to feel especially sorry or sympathetic for these often very dangerous people … but it helps to keep in mind how profoundly and terribly damaged as human beings they are in the first place to get them to the point of wanting to wipe out some race or nationality or just get the hell out to some BETTER place … Europe or Heaven, it just has to not HURT any more (but simply denouncing these people as total no-goods leads nowhere … and who knows? … might even lead to a kind of “shadow fundamentalism / bigotry” which only makes things incomparably worse – and much more complicated). One also could read, for example, Chris Hedge’s book “American Fascists” to get a more complete perspective if you’ve never personally known a fundamentalist or had half of your family consist of fundamentalists and bigots (as is my own case).
Remember seeing the photo of the Ukrainian Neo-Nazi gathering where there were big flags hung all around in a large hall? One of the flags was a Confederate flag (as in Confederate States of America). Do you think this was an accident? Well, I certainly don’t.
You KNOW that I completely agree with you on your core principles. But Holy Crusades didn’t bring anything good in the Middle Ages – and they won’t bring anything now … except maybe a RETURN to the Middle Ages.
I’m quite certain the progress of the Ukrainian Epistle is frustrating.
But there are some things to keep in mind…………….
1. Russia, before the Olympics/Maidan Putsch, was caught between two opposing camps…
a. Revanchists – Medvedev led, who sought profit within the NATO orbit, obeying NATO rules.
b. Independents – Putin led, who sought a place for Russia in a multi-polar world.
2. Sanctions were a wakeup call, with friendly business leaders informing the Kremlin, just
how vulnerable Russia was.
3. Putting the Russian house in order takes time.
a. to implement a national credit card system
b. to change all ExIm to Roubles
c. To diversify energy customers
d. To solidify control over central asian energy resources
Putin is fighting for time to implement the changes necessary to protect the Russian economy from sanctions.
His strategy follows the Syrian Civil War game plan as follows:
a. Russia is Turkey
b. The Putschists are the Asad Regime
c. Novorossiya is the FSA
d. The EU is Iran/ Hezbollah
To win, Novorossiya must make itself indigestible………. This means………….
a. Nvr must destroy the Ukrainian Economy via destruction of key bridges and pipeline crossings, and destruction of plant and equipment owned by the Oligarchs
b. Nvr must shift from fighting for turf to a war of movement, that permits it to hit them
where they ain’t.
c. Nvr must engage the population in a propaganda war.
d. Russia must keep up the pressure on Ukraine over the gas issue, and any other issues
it can invent.
e. Russia must keep covertly supplying Nvr
The reason Ukraine/Moldova/Georgia were admitted as a unit is pipeline geopolitics…….period.
The EU wants a pipeline network crossing the Black Sea from Georgia to Odessa/Moldova
to bring Turkmen Gas to itself outside the control of Russia. This is the holy grail….
This is why I said much earlier, that Russia should declare the ceasefire broken. unilaterally
move forces back to their maximum line of advance, and should impose boundaries
as they were when the territory became part of the Russian Empire, which in case you
don’t know, admitted Tiblisi as a city-state, with a much larger Armenia, much larger
Abkhazia, and much larger Ossetia.
The reason, for doing this is to cut the BTC pipeline, eliminate any Georgian Frontage on the
Black Sea, by regaining control all the way to Turkey, and to put an energy strait jacket
on Turkey, for the express purpose of instituting control over what Turkey does.
It is my understanding that North Stream has been shuttered for ” maintenance”.
Which if true, is about time….
Dear Bot Tak:
You quoted my earlier comment: “I would caution that being under China’s thumb would be far worse than being under the Kiev Nazi dictatorship. China murdered some one million Tibetans when it invaded that country, in scenarios more horrific than what we’ve seen in Donbass.”
Then, you replied to my comment as follows: “Yes, justthetalk.com zio-queen . . . No million Tibetans were killed by the Chinese, that’s zionazi propaganda.”
Your statement is the opposite of the truth. The massacres of Tibetans are documented in numerous places by eye-witnesses, and are common knowledge among people versed in Tibetan history. I myself gleaned this information from sources far removed from the “zionazi” media, which I never read. In particular, I have gained much insight on Tibet from books by mountaineers who have visited or lived in the region. I am an avid reader of expedition literature. The reason mountain climbers are a source of information is that they are one of the few groups that visited these remote Tibetan areas in the years during and following the Chinese invasion. Mountaineers have little in the way of a political agenda.
I am setting the record straight for the sake of other readers.
12032David A. Powell,
Thank you for this. We lived in the South for many years and saw its good points and bad, but you’re a native and it would be helpful to many on this blog if you could say more about both fundamentalism and bigotry. Of course there’s plenty of both in the North (!), but you’re from the belly of the beast, as it were. And I think a lot of people don’t really understand what that is all about — and really need to. And yes, I thought the same thing re: Saker’s description of Ukies — Sounds. Just. Like. Us. (And not just Southern us, either!)
@the rest of Russia, I hope to see it turn to the North and the East were its real future lies
Balaban,
You know that I agree with you on this theme. We know that the Holy Apostle Andrew has been at Valaamo too, after he planted the Cross on the hills of Kiev where the Pechersk Lavra stands. Valaamo, a text from 1870 said: “has a similar, deep meaning for Northern Russia that Kiev has for the central and southern parts”.
Christianity has deeper roots in Russia than Vladimir. They bore fruit in the people and monasteries. The certitude of Dostoyevsky, expressed through his famous character, the Starets Zosima, was that the salvation of Russia is in the hands of her people, and the Russian monastery always stood by the people.

All I see is propaganda in your post, no documented facts. That is the calling card of an Israeli-American web spammer.
